Megacity B-5's brand new Titan-class Sentinel prototype has suffered an odd, unexplainable malfunction. Its path of destruction follows north, originating from Iconocorp factory A-6, and it has now reached the secondary level of the city's outskirts.

All civilians are advised by Iconocorp to remain vigilant and inside of their homes, looking out for further updates. The guard has been working to quell the prototype without bringing further harm to the creation and to other civilians.

Thank you.

Lets see; couple months ago there were peaceful protests against Iconocorp's highly controversial employee lobotomization policies at those sectors, following that those sectors have suffered 750% increase in homicides, oddly persistent epidemic of berserker chipvirus, and now this. Yeah, I think that we all can agree that this wasn't an accident.

The Fire Warden's tend to frown on employing weapons capable of turning large weather systems into explosive firestorms friend. Ever since we bumped up the O2 levels of the atmosphere, employment of incendiary weapons is STRICTLY limited due to the difficulty of containing the resulting inferno.

Collateral damage wouldn't be a problem, Mu's a separate continent. The problem is that it's an entire goddamn continent, and unless you burn the entire thing you're just wasting money.
>>
>>60495531

At least the Mu High Priesthood accepted not to expand further into the continent and that any new flesh infestations would not recieve support from the main cult and could be destroyed without starting a new Flesh War. If you think the situation in America is bad you should have seen how nasty was the fighting to expel the Mu cultists from Japan. Forgive me for the metaposting but:

Okay so to keep in the spirit of making this actually /tg/-related and not just "Random RPing Thread #2: Electric Boogaloo" let's try to hammer out an actually setting from the remnants of this thread and the old thread. I think a good starting place would be to flesh out a world-map that we can expand upon as we go. Please feel free to make your own info-graphs, maps, fanart, OC-whatever as we go.

The last thread primarily focused on the Americas, with the Midwest the focus of "Cloud Moths" and their breeding grounds, although they also have been described to show up in Canada, California, and the east coast of the USA. There is also several "Mega-Cities" that are home to mysterious things called "Mazes" that may or may not be Eldritch in Origin.

Also apparently South America has turned into some kind of hellscape flesh-city that expands over an entire continent called simply "Mu".

Wardens are like the impromptu-Moth police and containment force, but several contract agencies also exist that do the same thing better (although at a higher price). Also there is some kind of horrible mega-corperation called Iconocorp that is brainwashing people via "headchips" and may or may not be the cause of half of the world's problems in the first place.

First subject: Where the fuck is Mu?
>>
>>60494826
Headchipper here. I feel healthy, happy, and content. Oh, that was a bit redundant, wasn't it? Haha! Anyway, I enjoy a nice healthy breakfast box in the morning after my chip alarm goes off at 7 AM. Then I clean up and wash up using 99.99% pure water, provided by Iconocorp Water Supply Company. Thanks to chip tech, I no longer need to brush my teeth or tongue, or do my hair! Such menial biological components are easily dealt with. Simply revolutionary! No need to shave, either, all hair desired for removal is ejected from my skin in a curt but slightly discomforting process. Clothing is easy as well, since I have all the factory uniforms needed to wear for the next two whole years! Amazing and generous of Iconocorp! Next, I take the certified and efficient Iconotube trains to my factory job. On the train I see so many different yet familiar faces, individuals just like me enjoying life in in Megacity C-8! Diversity and multiculturalism is truly a superpower! After a two minute trip, I arrive at work, deal with the entry droids and gates, and I join my fellow coworkers to provide my sweat for Iconocorp -- which, might I add, is the same as providing for my megacity and its people! -- for 14 hours. I get off of work at 10 PM, deal with the standard sanitization process and quickie psychological evaluation, come home, spend the next hour consuming my lunch and dinner box provided graciously by Iconofoods, watch a bit of the news, and then call it a day!
>>
>>60497003
Usually in conspiracy theory lore Mu is located in the Pacific Ocean, so I'd go with that. South America should be overtaken by a hellish mega-Amazon with even worse monsters than the regular ones
>>
>>60497003
Id say most of South America, save for a few northern countries like Venezuela, but even then it has a few flesh cities. Then dotted along central America, and leading up into the Americas. I think most flesh cities shouls be located distances apart along the sunbelt and close to California, with the rare, occasional one being in thr Midwest, New England, and central areas (Wyoming, Oklahoma, etc.)
>>
>>60497227
Don't know if all of South America should be Flesh. I think it should be limited to the pacific coast of america, asia and oceania. Places like Hawaii and the Philippines should be fully covered in flesh
>>
>>60497003
Some implication in the last thread seemed to imply that Mu might be a "wandering" threat. Kinda like a mass of continent-sized flesh that just drifts about in the waters of the Pacific.

Added Mu as a large continent in the Pacific. Is this too many flesh-cities? I may have went overboard and just assumed that they spread out along the Pacific coast. Maybe only one big one in California?

Also added Mega cities where typical landmark cities are. I'd imagine Philly/Newark/NYC would all eventually merge together into one mega-city. Others thrown around randomly because I don't know shit about geography.

Alright lets jump to The Wardens then. In the last thread they had the following qualities:
>Second best equipped military force in the United States
>Primarily handles dealing with Cloud-Moths, Flesh Cultists, and larger Mega-city threats
>Anti-Mega Fauna specialists
>Extremely spread thin/ Understaffed
>Typically stationed in Rural areas and/or on walls surrounding urban centers
>Have authority outside of the government. If they see a suspected cultist they can eliminate them without having to go through a chain of command
>May or may not wear power-armor

How equipped is "Well Equipped"? Consider that this setting also has head implants and Orbital Ion-Cannons, but also Wardens typically like patrolling around in the woods and banging Pixies.
>>
>>60498170
>How equipped is "Well Equipped"?
Army tier. Tanks, ATVs, artillery, AA guns. They are sort of a mix between park rangers, US marshals and wild west sheriffs.
The federal government is weak, mostly a confederation of megacities, so even if they have resources they have limited personell and reach, so the Wardens have a lot of power to act on their own.
Meanwhile, the rest of the army budget went to the Fire Department, who protects the megacities from monster attacks and disasters
>>
>>60498170
Cloud Moths apparently only get spooked by small-arms fire, but heavy machineguns work well enough.

Army-level like >>60498287 said would probably be enough. It'd also fit into the gritty hellscape vs. normal joes vibe the world originally had going for it.
>>
>>60498170
I need to go for a bit, I'll come back and ask more questions about the map/Flavor shit later if the thread is still alive.

Someone else can take the reigns or we can go back to more worldbuilding from here on out.
>>
>>60497913
Not bad on the Map. I think we need a Megacity in NW Canada\Alaska as well, and why not around Quebec as well, since without them there wouldn't be quite enough stuffiness in the Northeast.

>>60498170
Wardens are basically what U.S. DoD turned into. The Federal Government stripped down the Bureaucracy and ran on Survival mode. Big thing we noted was that there arose a national scale reprioritization of the armed forces as a combined Armed Force/Firefighting brigade due to the newfound flammability of everything meaning any use of boom would also basically require an immediate firefighting response. Nevermind the volatile nature of the damn Cloud Moths themselves.
>>
>>60498287
I'd also say that not every Warden team or individual has access to these things. I like the idea of ranks and such, that there's some who've only got access to shotguns with special rounds, sort of like poor Witchers. Then there are some that are far more elite.
>>
>>60494107
Necromancer here

How do you think the crops that create your food end up getting picked, dumbass? It's not by living people, because they end up getting Cloud Mothed. No, it's my skeletons, thank you very much.
>>
>>60498573
The Warden's therefore have an Operatin' and a search and rescue corps drawn from those with military/Park Ranger experience.

Their typical armament can range from various types of small arms and man portable explosives, to some old Tanks, Mobile Artillery, Attack and logistics choppers (usually held in reserve due to angering Cloud Moths), and SOME Close-Air Support offensive capability as a last resort. Most air assets are considered too valuable to risk, and are preferentially allotted to the Fire Warden's to be refit as aerial firefighting platforms.

Incendiaries has been reclassified as a weapons of Mass Destruction, and unlawful/reckless use of them is censured with extreme prejudice. Yellow Snake cultists love that shit.

I'd imagine that the Navy was probably absorbed into the Wardens as well, and serve a role as Coast Guard/exterminator of seabased megafauna.
>>
The amount and type of fauna seems to be very freeform, I like it.

We have:

>Sentient
Fae (pixies, Titania and Oberon)
Grue
Rot-jaws
Stalking Wildvines
Sandvixens
Cloud Moths
Cantosaurus

>Plants
Redgrass

Also, how large can kaiju be? We talking Pacific Rim-tier, or maybe smaller than that?
>>
>>60499093
We can have a few Pacific Rim sized creatures, but the vast majority should be smaller. Cloud Moths should be the around the size of a tank
>>
>>60499160
>A few Pacific Rim-sized creatures

And we just KNOW there'll be cults/religions surrounding those. I'd like the idea that these cults, unlike the flesh cultists, don't really fuck around with city folk, or even other people. They're like isolated tribals who mainly reside in the wilderness, who, once in a rare moon, might attack an independent settlement in the boonies for sacrifices and such, like maybe once every year.
>>
>>60499303
That sounds cool. It makes sense that people would start worshiping those monsters after regular civilization went the way of the dodo

>>60498170
>>60498573
I was getting a sort of "Fractured America" vibe, with the Wardens being primarily associated with the Megacities/Iconocorp.
>>
>>60498684
You literally strip the skin off still-living people and have their animated skeletons do your bidding. With their still-aware souls trapped inside mind.
>>
>>60499858
Iconocorp should have it's own armed forces. Ag Expansion too. Iconocorp is a major player in the Megacities but only a few should be fully under it's control. Meanwhile the Federal government is basically just a confederation of Megacities pooling their resources to fund agencies like the Wardens and the Fire Department
>>
>>60499858
>special bloodlines

There's definitely magic in this world, but it doesn't seem all that commonplace. Maybe these special bloodlines are rare, prestigious families spawned from a small number of individuals with magical power who gained them after this apocalyptic scenario. Otherwise, we've got flesh cultists, who are more like biological weapons(?) as opposed to magic. And then we've got necromancers, but those aren't very plentiful whatsoever.

Also, I feel like there are Wardens associated with Megacorps/Iconocorp, and they're typically far more well-equipped, with fewer having to deal with the dregs of equipment like generic small arms and at the most automatic weapons and rocket launchers. But then there are also independent Wardens, who maybe are nomadic or are contracted, etc. Lots of variety. Those Warden groups that are independent may have a few spread amongst them that are on the same tier as Iconocorp/Megacity-sponsored/supplied Warden groups when it comes to gear and training, but most are of lower quality, unless you get some real passionate and dedicated independent Wardens, which makes you lucky.
>>
>>60499858
I don't think Wardens and Iconocorp should be related. Iconocorp should be a brutal capitalism-driven entity that only cares about it's own interests, Wardens should be the last vanguard between normal humans trying to get by and the hellish world they live in.
>>
>>60499944
I like the idea of the megacities and influence of megacorps being largely restricted to one area of the continent (probably the east cost/new england or something like that).

>>60499987
I was the one who suggested that it was something specific to the North-West. I was thinking that it might be a place where human magic is much more common, at least compared to other areas.

>>60499989
The main thing for me is that I kind of like the idea of the fractured america feeling I was getting, so I feel like Wardens shouldn't be some kind of huge organization spanning the continent. Though it might be interesting if it is one organization, but they operate in chapters or branches that are largely independent of each other.
>>
>>60499989
I'm the guy above your post. Iconocorp would definitely have their own teams capable of taking care of monsters that threaten Megacities, but I they're not technically "Wardens"

Wardens are independent, work for the people, and are sort of like mercenaries.

Iconocorp "guards" or whatever we want to call them are experts at taking down the horrors of the world, but they're focused with protecting the Megacities, and not the settlements and other startup civilizations out in the wilderness.

How does that sound?
>>
>>60500046
>I was the one who suggested that it was something specific to the North-West. I was thinking that it might be a place where human magic is much more common, at least compared to other areas.

Sounds good. Something like Fae leylines, once they entered this world, being more potent, or originating from there and the surrounding area allowing humans to be able to utilize magic.

But from there, magic would be a LOT more sparse.

Just spitballing.

We had mention of Exorcists in the last thread, and the Church seems to have some bitch-tier magic, as well as enough pull to prevent Iconocorp from fucking over everyone in the name of corporate greed.

Also, on the Church, we know that they worship/respect the Powers and utterly loathe the vile Forces, but we honestly don't know much about those. Well beyond the Yellow Serpent supposedly being an exiled Power, and the Great Moth and the thing in Mu being Forces. We should probably expand on that.
>>
>>60500046
The way I'm thinking is that there are Megacities spread through the country, mostly on the coasts with a few smaller ones in the central part of the country, and they are mostly independant from eachother, but they are stil allied in a confederation of sorts. Among other things they fund the Wardens, who are a mix of the army, park rangers, US marshals and Texas Rangers. They are well equiped, by comparison, but have very limited personnel and due to the horrors of the country side, they can't support large teams, so they mostly operate in small units with a lot of freedom and discretionary power to act on their own as needed
>>
>>60500046
>>I was the one who suggested that it was something specific to the North-West. I was thinking that it might be a place where human magic is much more common, at least compared to other areas.

>We had mention of Exorcists in the last thread, and the Church seems to have some bitch-tier magic, as well as enough pull to prevent Iconocorp from fucking over everyone in the name of corporate greed.

Yeah, that's right, I forgot about Powers/Forces

Powers seem far more humanistic, while Forces seem to be the eldritch of the world, involving unnatural monsters and other entities.

The few massive Pacific Rim-tier kaiju, for example, would have tribes worshipping them. These tribes are essentially followers of Forces, as these kaiju are unnatural, like Mu and Great Moth. Yellow Serpent is essentially anarcho-capitalism, a long-reigning human ideology, but due to its large portion crazy ass chaotic followers, it's essentially been exiled.

I feel like Church magic would have to rely on a lot of people pooling their power together to pull off a grand spell, while otherwise individually they've got bitch-tier magic. Iconocorp probably has their balls being held by something the Church either knows or is capable of doing that can fuck over their entire operation, some mental/physiological epic spell that can do... xxx, idk.

Trying to make sense of it all
>>
>>60500252
I suspect that the Yellow Serpent got exiled because it and its followers seem to think that EVERY slight requires you to repay it a thousand fold. Every last one, even the minor ones.

The Warden's and The Extension are completely separate from Iconocorp.

The Ag Extension grew from the tradition of Agricultural Extensions in the old world where citizens with rural expertise would make themselves available to the public to help keep agricultural production high.
With the O2 Event, and the Burnination that followed, humanity fell back to the Sprawls, and those who dared to live outside the Barriers of the Inner Cities formed cooperatives to help each other out. Eventually, enough were formed that they conglomerate as the Ag Extension. They frequently work with the Wardens due to the vast amount of experience they've gained fending off the beasts of the wilds.

The Extension operates as a public body loosely built around an Academic model. This means that R&D does happen, but due to the fact it relies on public funds to operate, the scope of said research and means through which it is subjected to scrutiny are quite a bit more strict and transparent than those the Megas are held to.

The Extension has a built up significant good will in the Rural sectors, and is an active contributor to the Council decision making process. It's academic nature however, tends to defeat it's proficiency at politicking. Usually, the Extension is left to clean up and document the results of some horrifying lack of foresight unless it's representatives are on top of their game.

A Researcher for the Extension is someone who builds expertise in helping those outside the city to survive. The Wardens will often have a Researcher assigned as a liason during major Ops to provide overwatch, oversight, and a record of any new findings.

Cntd from.

A Researcher is also expected to act as an interface to the public. A sort of 911 operator of sorts. The collective experience of everyone who exited the Barrier is of no value without someone to answer a question, so researchers often spend entire days split between "Research", "Babysitting (their Warden teams)", and playing "911" or "411" for the public.

I've been writing the Extension to be a bit oblivious of the more Occult stuff. The Researchers being of a more academic sort, and viewing or experiencing the Wilderness second hand are chocking tales of the Fae up to either hallucinating woodsmam or plain old human embellishment. That may change.

I like how the worldbuilding effort is coming along. Far as we know, we've got Fae in the forests, the occasional necromancer, magical bloodlines/families in the North-West, possibly other mages not affiliated with those families (rogues), a sparse amount of mages spread throughout the entire continent, and then the Church has their own vague magic.

More that they'd only really have a presence in some areas. I was thinking that they'd primarily exist in New England or the East Coast, with a few others scattered around.

So, in the original thread, yes. We weren't really operating off the scale of multiple mega-cities. So the "City Council" was basically the last word.

As things have been expanding though, the federal seems to fall on each Sprawl having their own council, and in I think I may have referenced other "Branches" of the Ag Extension with their own sets of standards (Ethics Boards) and limitations.

The Warden's haven't been formally "bound" to any Sprawl in particular, but the implication seems to be if a Warden team is going to do something that poses a great risk of starting a fire, they have to have their Extension liason inform those who need to know.

Keep in mind, I"m not a designated lorekeeper here or anything. Just kinda dropping in what's been tossed around on the discord and banging around in my own head.

My main thing is that I think the coolest thing about this setting is all the weird bullshit in it, and I think that society should reflect that, so I like the idea that you've a bunch of different societies in different places, and don't think things should be all that unified (plus, breaking things up helps make the setting feel less like the real world, if that makes any sense). That's some interesting stuff, though.

That's actually what I'm going for actually.

I've been assuming there exists a Net connecting disparate Extensions, but that each place operates as an entity unto itself. I don't imagine say, the Dover Megaplex gives a shit what the Boston Sprawl's policies are. Just that every Megacity chips into funding the Wardens and their Extension.

Next would be to include location of megacities, flesh cities, and other stuff like cloud moth breeding grounds, giant worm migration trails, etc. Give things a bit of a basis, but not go into much detail, like where independent settlements are and what not.

this is, of course, if you want to draw that stuff.
>>
>>60501407
The sprawls are megacities, massive clusters of ultra-high density urban areas surrounded by huge walls and elaborate defensive structures. Basically the Hives from 40K or the Mega Cities from Judge Dredd.
In addition to the urban areas, cities also control some amount of urban area, to a larger or smaller degree
>>
>>60501407
So, I won't lie, when Megacity gets thrown around I think Shadowrun tier Sprawls.

The Rural areas being the areas outside the "City Barriers" where people are actually trying to reclaim the wilds. Old school farms, that sort of thing. The cities benefit from the extra food production and agricultural product, but also from the buffer area the Rural Sectors provide. When the big shit comes knocking, the Warden's generally end up trying to neutralize the threat before it gets too close to the city, but that also means they might accidentally your entire property in the ensuing fireball.

The Barriers act as glorified bug zappers, which tend to mean you don't have to deal with Giant Monsters in the city. The Rural Areas have to make do with walls. It's better than nothing, but generally Giant Monster is always a possibility
>>
>>60501407
>What is a sprawl, though?
think "suburban sprawl"

as you go towards the center of a city think like this
WILDS>rural habitation>WALLS>suburban sprawl>metropolitan area>city proper.

then, snake out from there the infrastructure in decreasing levels of presence or quality, like road and bridge quality, electrical grids, municipal water systems, emergency response services, etc.
>>
Did we ever get a description of what the fuck "Mazes" actually are or were they left vague on purpose?
>>

>>
>>60501882
On the discord we're going with them being just the lower levels of the megacities, where building over previous layers repeatedly and with no planning left them as convoluted 3D mazes of shantytowns, tunnels and abandoned buildings.
They are not necessarily supernatural things, but since it's impossible to really clear them out they are full of weird things like cults, flesh infections and eventual incursions by faeries and other beings.
"Maze" is also slang for the people who live in there.

I think it would make sense for the mega cities to cover the expanses of the east and west coasts which shoudl account for their size and random construction/layers if megacities are literally being built over old cities or, there are huge stretches of what used to be suburbs and small towns inbetween that are cardoned off and become the haven for criminals, the insane, and other evil shit.

Okay, I've added a new region to the map. The idea here is that it's a region dominated by Megacities and megacorps. The dots marking megacities might be the locations of all megacities, or they might be the locations of the largest ones (they're based on the locations of major US cities). The area's a patchwork of what are effectively independent sovriegn states controlled by megacorps, with Iconocorp as a sort of de facto hegemon.

These also wouldn't be the only megacities, but the way I'm thinking of this, megacities wouldn't be nearly as common elsewhere. What do you all think?.

That goes without saying, I'm just trying to imagine the scape based on the various maps made.

That said, the idea of how the economies of the rural villages and the mega cities should be considered as well. We already have a group, The Wardens, who take care of big things, but I imagine they're not going to be everywhere and deal with every missing person or whatever that is beneath their notice and not worth their firepower (or if it is, say goodbye to your ranch)

I think this is the level the PCs could come in. Basically, an economy of mercenary types of all sorts who sell their services inside and outside of the mega cities to deal with things that the Wardens would simply burn with fire and be done with.
>>

>I think this is the level the PCs could come in. Basically, an economy of mercenary types of all sorts who sell their services inside and outside of the mega cities to deal with things that the Wardens would simply burn with fire and be done with.

There's a lot of flexibility involving where PCs can be. Have a shadowrun-tier time in a megacity, or the mercenary types on the outside, maybe expeditionary forces, Church members going out to deal and purge Mu cultists, etc.

I GOT SOME LORE RAMBLINGS
I'm not fully up to snuff on the rest of the lore mind y'all. I'm working on that.

beneath cities of the old world there were always the tunnels. sewers, utility access for power, clean water, sewage, subways. often there were forgotten places for transients to hide.

these are as nothing to The Maze that rests under any of the great megacities today.

as the surface places were made and re-made in the wake of monsters and their devastation. as areas are infested by smaller threats, burned and purged. these largely uncharted voids in the deep darkness grew at a fantastic pace.

and because it is in the nature of some to hide in such places, shantytowns developed. black markets thrive in these places, far from daylight and hidden by kilotons of masonry, concrete, rebar, the crisscrossing networks of power-lines interfering with every sort of signal.

and like so much of the world as it is these places, being far from the beaten path by more common protectors, monsters lurk. whole communities slaughtered, black markets taken suddenly. leaving in their wake treasures for those coragous enough to would go look. still, those Mazers that chose to delve the deeps take on a certain respect and air...

so how does it sounds?
is the "weird magnitude" about right? does it need more odd?
thoughts? opinions? conceptualizing?
>>
>>60502600

I don't see why not. Go a step further and have Mazers be professional urban explorers who try to plunder cities and towns lost to whatever weird fuckery for valuables.

Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but this feels like a more concrete way of handling eldritch horror meets cyberpunk better than the Cthulhtu tech which went WAY to far with trying to spin different genre points together. like having Evangalion and Guyver in the same headspace as Mi-go and cultist.
>>
>magic
I'm thinking of magic for humans being much more witchy than wizardy. As in low-powered, requires rituals and items, effects aren't flashy and often involves eldritch forces devouring your soul.
>bloodlines
The seven bloodlines in the Northwest are the descendants of seven witch clans. They fled across the Atlantic to escape the influence of the High Church after a series of run-ins with high body counts on both sides, but nobody knows exactly what happened.
Bloodline witches are stronger in rural settings and the deep wilds, and feel uneasy and weak in the Cities.
Male witches often earn a living hunting monsters and helping rural people ward against sinister influences. Females tend more towards healing, fortune telling and blessings.

There's a ancient legend that says that when the last scion of the seven clans dies, something terrible will awaken. Demographic evidence of their ongoing declining numbers has some people concerned, but they're just superstitious bumpkins...

So, we're kind of split on the magic issue on Discord.

One side (my preference) favors at most a low key Occultism. Fae are only really known to those who venture into the wilds first hand, No Edritchy stuff in the maze, and the Fleshies have some more powerful ritual stuff to throw around.

The other mindset is that people should be aware of stuff like the Far and whatnot.

We're going the direction of unreliable narrator to leave it to whoever wants to use it to set the appropriate magic level.
>>
>>60503095

I think there is room for both. HIgh level knowledge would definitely be the realm of the ruling bodies who have to deal with stuff on that level. But a detective who has gone to school for occultism to help them root out cultist and have certain, approved, rituals and techniques used to deal with the supernatural on the other end.

Basically, as long as we avoid fireball flinging wizards I'm fine with both directions.

New map stuff, fleshing out (pun half intended) the West coast. I figured LA, San Diego, and Phoenix all made sense as Megacities, so I marked them down. I've also marked down a few points of Mu incursion, mostly in California, but one in Washington state, with the largest Flesh-city being in the fallen megacity that encompasses the Bay area. and a sizable area has been given a question mark, with the greater population not sure whether or not Mu has a foothold there. I've also put in the West coast's forest (distinct from the forest in the center of the US) and marked down a populated area outside of the influence of any megacity. That area is made up of the Free Counties, which are trying to hold on to more contemporary societal structures (normal republics, basically). They're boxed in by forest, desert, three large megacities, and Mu. What do you guys think of that?

>>60503095
>Fae are only really known to those who venture into the wilds first hand

I think there can be a general Fae acknowledgement, like "oh yeah i think i heard that word before, not sure what it means," and people who meet the Fae (and live) are free to spread their knowledge if they wish, but whether or not anyones up to believing them is a different thing.

>No eldritchy stuff in the maze
If one were to get into deeper levels, I feel like it should be more of a known thing. Stick to markets and underground settlements, nah, won't encounter it but you will certainly hear about it. Go deeper, where there aren't many people around? You'll encounter something you may not have wanted to.

>Fleshies have some more powerful ritual stuff to throw around

Like I said. It's a pretty active split.

I don't have a huge dog in the show at this point. It isn't "MY" setting either, at this point I'm just kind of enjoying seeing what /tg/ does with it. We've seen examples of GURPS tier flexibility in campaign possibilities already.

Yeah, that's the sort of thing I feel would make the mundanes cool. You have to use forbiddan knowledge to batman it 24/7 but going batman only goes so far when you're dealing with truly fucked up shit

>>60503542
People in the cities should certainly feel that way. I imagine people in the rural towns would have a more personal experience with them and possibly even parley with them. Imagine some shit like the Wicker man where you wind up in a town but they keep things running by occasionally grabbing a few outsiders and sacrificing them to whatever Fae's got them by the balls.

>>60503607
*shrugs* I'm cool with whatever the majority wants. I'm getting a FF8 vibe where the tech is there but sparse because monsters keep fucking up the infrastructure. Nobody ever put forward anything specific about what specifically started everything happening, but it seems that some of the creatures causing problems are probably the results of attempts to bio-engineer the solution to some other problem.

The way I see it. PCs are naturally inclined to batman situations so why not make it the default of the setting? Brute Forcing everything is the fastest way to kill off your character and party and even with the best laid plans things can still go to shit.

Mom used to say that the madness all came from one place, it came from Florida and spread out like roots or a disease. >>
>>60503871

Also, to add to this, there should always be situations that will force the PCs to make snap decisions even if they may not like it. I've added territory controlled by the Freedom Force to the map. The population consists of small communities just trying to get by, though while that may seem similar to the Free Counties, there's some pretty big differences. Things aren't even really counties here, with each town or small city being effectively self-governing. The territory is located between a number of megacities, meaning that encroachment is always a concern, and while they don't have to worry about Mu, there are still plenty of inhuman problems in the region. This is where the Freedom Force comes in. They travel the region in their motorized convoys, dealing with dangerous creatures, and ensuring the communities remain independent of the nearby megacities. They pull this off through a combination of grit, clever ingenuity, and a little help from a local giant population. Self-reliance is highly valued; as a result, most people are capable of defending themselves from minor threats, basic mechanical knowledge is quite common. Religion is frequent here, just like in the old days, though unlike in the old days, it seems that, at least in some communities, you're as likely to find people worshiping the Yellow Serpent as you are to find them worshiping the old God.

What do you think, guys? A lot of what I added here (encroachment from megacities, Yellow Serpent followers being common, etc) seemed to naturally follow from the circumstances of the area. Also the larger megacity is a combination of San Antonio and Austin, with the two having basically grown into each other, absorbing the cities/towns in between and becoming a single megacity.

The shade pictured, referred to alternatively as "mind melter" or "the king shadow dream eater" in China, is an ethereal creature known since antiquity, mentioned in several Homeric tales. It haunts those who have experienced severe traumas, or those with psychological problems, adding to their woe. It is believed to feed on negative emotions, and the greatest of all is the despair felt before a victim claims their own life, or tricking them via illusion to kill another.

Mind Melter hauntings usually start with auditory hallucinations, generally as intrusive, self-destructive thoughts like "I'm ugly" or "I have no friends". This attacks their very morale, and isolates them with their negative thoughts. It will then move to visual phenomena and scents, ending with tactile and full blown reality breaks, where it often manifests as a lost loved one or shadowy human figure. Most people will never see one, and often disregard the crazy stories of soldiers or cops shooting wildly into the dark. Some find psychiatric or religious help useful to reduce the severity of the fear attacks, and eventually it will move on to easier prey.

I sit here at my bungalo, looking out in the woods. I hope I see the ketch, but it cant see me. If the ketch sees me, I'm to tell myself that it doesnt see me and act natural, even though I know that it does. If I do my job, the ketch will act natural and not know I see it, then I can take notes. This one is named Lola, not by the company but because my daughters name is Lola and too has brown hair.

If I cant convince the ketch that I dont see it, I act like I see another ketch. They are very shy that way, very cautious, and very dumb. Ranger Hal was dumb too and not convincing. He didnt believe he wasnt seen. But I know, because I'm alive. When I return in 30 days I'll bring his hat. I just wish the sun would set, because I dont know when the day ends.

As I sleep the ketch watches me. I can see its blue eyes through the slits in the blinds, but only when I squint. I pretend it doesnt see me, just like it acts when I dont see it. Sometimes I think it tries to trick me. I think t will stare off for a long time pretending not to see me, then jerk its head and look directly at me, and then I have to jerk my head and pretend I dont see it. We both play pretend.

The ketch has neighbors. The Voltdiver is attracted to radios, so I cant use those. The adolescent slaying mantis can smell my blood, and is the biggest of the 3 at 2.5 meters when upright. Both dont like Lola. She keeps them away and watches over me. She is my friend even though she can rip me in half. When I play harmonica she comes. I pretend she likes it when I play Amazing Grace. Really its the only song I know, but Lola doesnt know that, and she growls less when I do it so I believe.

As I wait a month I write in my journal, and Ranger Hal's. His family deserves his pay too. Sometimes I take out the .45-70 marlin and clean it. i havent shot it in 4 months, but I like the smell. Sometimes I count the bullets. I had 100, but I'm missing 4. I think Hal had them on him.

When I got home my wife asks me how my day was. It was fine, other than I was out for 4 months instead of 3, because my watch broke and I didn't keep track of time. Sun doesn't set, you don't sleep well. They gave me over time. They got Ranger Hal's body. They threw Ranger Hal a funeral service. I wore my best navy blue suit. Except I don't actually have a suit, and if I did it would be charcoal, not blue. Not appropriate for funerals. I like funerals. It's the only time the whole family gets together. Me and Ranger Mal, Sal, and Tal are pretty okay, even though Sal and Tal are on the other baseball team (Red), and I'm on blue, like my suit. Ranger Bal doesn't like me. He says it's because I got a home run on his no-hitter game. I remind him that I'm not that Ranger Al, and he wasn't playing that season. He brushes me off, as usual. I think it's because I was born first, even though I wasn't. I gave Hal's family his last paycheck. I added some of my overtime.

When I got to my daughter Lola she wanted a bedtime story and asked about monsters I killed. I reminded her that I don't usually kill monsters if I don't have to, usually they'll kill each other. But she asked about the fiercest one I saw. So I told her about the Loth Beast. green with deep aqua patches, scaly, feathered head, snake tongue, 3 meters long, up to your waist, with a dozen eyes on stalks. When it sleeps, it's eyes take turns. It's always half-asleep unless it's hunting, which is the only time eleven eyes are open (one eye always sleeps, so that when the other eyes sleep at least one eye is always awake). When angry it can spit hydrochloric acid up to 30 yards, and when hunting it turns invisible (how do we know about the eye? trade secret). I was told to hunt one just outside a megacity, which had been killing people. I used a .30-06 rifle and a cat as bait. She was concerned the noise outside was a Loth Beast. I told her it was the racoons. Of course, Loth Beasts dont exist. And it's not racoons.

Today they said the university is partnering with the Department for research and containment. They said that volunteers would be paid, and their children's fees waived at the university. Lola is only 8, but for a year's work her school would be paid. I volunteer, as do many others. Next we are all put into different rooms. Each room has a bird cage, wires, and a projector. The nice lady puts the bird cage on my head and asks me if I can see the screen. I tell her yes I can see the screen, then the light turns off.

The test is very easy. The bird cage begins to buzz and they show me a picture of a bat and ask me how I feel. Then they show me a picture of a baseball bat and ask me how I feel. Then they show me both and ask which I prefer, all while repeating Bat to myself during the down time. Then I have to say Batting while watching baseball. Then after a few minutes they ask me how I feel. Then they ask if I remember the Bat, then I have to describe the bat. But only which bat I want to describe, then they repeat. Sometimes they'll show a picture of my wife. I don't remember giving them that. She is hitting the baseball with a bat while batting, but it's not the right bat. I don't like that picture and they ask me what isn't right about it. This is self evident, because you cannot hit a baseball with a bat, and the old university professor is sympathetic and tells me it's good that I know you can't play baseball with a bat.

After a few hours they tell me I pass, then I tell them the truth. I don't have experience guarding, only studying animals. I am not a good candidate, whereas Ranger Mal is much better for the job. They tell me not to worry, I have exactly what they need from the test. I start Baturday.

Indeed. I have no problem with flashy magic, it just shouldn't be readily available and usable. If you're going to fireball and turn people into ash then it should be something with a lot of build up and not something you just shrug and do.

That said, if no one has really delved into how "faith" based magics work, I'd like to throw my three cents in.

I hate how D&D just has religious magic users just be wizards with miters. I think something like shit in real life when you see crazy fanatics who flay themselves with whips and walk around on glass and nails naked because of their faith should be a thing. Religious types can go into the crazy zone of faith that allows them to do shit that shouldn't normally be possible but they can pull it off because of their insane level of belief

The more powerful magic seems to be in the hands of the cults or those that play with fae and the ghost monsters, (I prefer the sound over eldritch because I'm just sick of the word since Zalgo.) Conan style, you sell your soul or body, for some kind of possession and through your possessed body you can do weird shit with their powers. All the trappings that come with is wacky hudu stuff, probably.

The vibes I'm getting so far are Pans Labrynth, Silent Hill, and Stalker/Metro with some wh40k vibes that I hope don't get too far out of hand, personally.

>I hope for your well-being that you don't live in a settlement nearby, or else they'll set your sights on you.

If they're bandits, they should be fine. Bandits typically avoid major settlements, and instead prowl along back-roads and lawless areas looking for targets of opportunity.

If they're raiders, that's when you need to be concerned and start gathering a posse and contact local law. Raiders actively attack outlying settlements and assault homes and businesses, and are usually much more well armed and organized. In some cases, they can get as powerful as they did in West Texas a few decades ago, and nobody wants another Outlaw Empire springing up again.

Fuck.
>>60520113
We were living out in the deep country, things didn't change much for those of us that lived on reservations or near them. Clean water has always been scarce, though with the more common flooding and rain storm tornadoes, and the aquifers rupturing on occassion it's gotten a little bit easier in some ways. I think the big cities got picked apart by giant vultures or something, I stay away from them. It could be exaggeration but I always see flocks of big birds over the ruins. There weren't very many towns in the first place so we don't see them often.

Then we do like everyone else, giant sandpaper moths, waspmites, copper worms and rotjaws, the usual. The bandit tribes seem to attract really bad juju and get eaten by giant fleshgates before their leaders can get too big, psychically I mean, in their skeleton thrones. But I think they're starting to get smart and figure out the bones to use better like the old families did.

I don't know if that answers your question really.

We sit in a concrete room with a large red button between two consoles, Ranger Tal and me. We were selected to guard the mind monsters. We are immune, so we are told, so everything we see and hear should be real. But there are rules. Each of us is carrying a 9mm pistol. If Tal acts strangely, I am to shoot him even though he outranks me by 3 hours. If I act strangely, Tal is to shoot me, as befits his superior 3 hour station. The button must be pressed every other hour during an alert, so that we cannot close the facility indefinitely if there is an accident. We are told that a rescue team will be there by then, who will lift the alert and come in. Until that comes we are to press the button every two hours, and it will beep when we need reminded.

Today was our first alert, and so we pressed the button. Tal is taller than me and has longer arms, so he pressed the button and told me it was my turn next. Since we cannot leave the room during lockdown, we decided to kill time. Tal had a baseball, and was pitcher for Red team. We play catch. I am not pitcher, so I cannot throw as well as Tal does, but that's okay. We just need to keep away boredom for the next 2 hours or so.

It's been 370 hours now, and the lockdown is still in effect. We have played ball. We have played cards. We have knicked the cards, and now Tal doesn't want to play. When we play ball, I ask him to teach me to throw like him. He says no, because I'll tell Blue team how he pitches, and that's not fair. Sometimes he looks at my gun. The University secretly have me a pocket knife too. I know he has one, because he's a bad pretender like Hal, and dropped it once. He knows I have one because he saw it under the bathroom stall when my pants were down, a privacy violation against the October Friendship Accords we both signed. It was nice that it lets me cross his third of the room to use the bathroom, even though he still complains, then I have to bring out the paper. Buzz buzz the alarm rings, my turn.

At night I practice with the baseball I stole from his side. I want to throw a screwball like he does, so people can’t Bat when my team pitches. I throw it against the door on his side when he sleeps, and when he wakes up I tell him it’s the door. By the time he notices the ball has rolled onto his side, and he pretends to go to sleep, just like I pretend to go to sleep, until we are both pretending for so long we both fall asleep. On day 73 He asks me what I dream about. I tell him I dream about batting and my wife. He dreams about my wife too, he says. I tell him he can go fuck himself and he says I’m being weird about him dreaming about my wife, and I tell him it’s weird to dream about another man’s wife, then he throws the baseball at me in violation of the OFA. We both stare at each other’s guns for a long, long time, and then we stare at the baseball that rolled into the middle of the room. We can’t play baseball anymore now, too many holes.

During the training I remember they said that if we don’t press the button every other hour the facility will unlock. The rescue team will make everything batter. I asked why and they said I wasn’t making any sense, but reassured me things would be better once it unlocked. Tal says it’s our duty to keep it locked, and I agree because he’s my superior. I’m tired of being here. Yesterday the mirror broke. Tal says he knows he didn’t do it, and I say I know I didn’t do it, so we both blame the holey baseball for the transgression and we use another few bullets on it. There are still 8 rounds between us, and we have calculated the amount needed to kill another quite well by now. Luckily I have more, because I stole one of his bullets but he can’t prove it.

It’s been 17 years since we entered this place, based on the average 8x a day bathroom trips we make to get away from one another I think. He gets jealous that I take longer in the sink shower, and I remind him that there is no time limit on the sink shower and he can take longer showers too. He insists that as an officer he must ensure that I am taken care of better than him. Every morning I eat first, and he watches me. He asks me to go to the bathroom first, and he watches me. When we go to bed he makes sure I lay down first. Sometimes he drops off food from the microwave, or gives me more from his plate. I don’t always eat it, which upsets him. I ask him what he thinks of, duty he says. He asks me what I think of, buttons I say, and baseballs, and our failed attempt to patch the baseball with our shoe leather and the knives we still pretend to hide. I tell him I want to open the door. He tells me it’s been this long, what’s another day. That was 14 days ago, but the clock battery died and I ask him how he knows how long it’s been till a day. Then he asks me how many times I’ve pressed the button. I never counted. He never counted either.

It's been one million years since we were caged please I want out I want my Lola all I need is to get to that button and smash it but he sleeps next to the button and put his wrappers around it I’d do anything to not do anything to the button but he keeps pressing it I just want to go home and make things right I will kill Lola ketch I will walk home she must be at the University right now just 10 stories above me please let us out Tal if it will make things Batter I will kill Tal

Any idea for organizations fighting the cultist?
>>
>>60520172
>Outlaw Empire

Yeah, that was one major shitshow. But at least the Texan raider guys didn't embrace cannibalism like that one horde of that ravaged Western Canada half-a-decade ago. I'm pretty sure that at least some of the wiijigoo running out there were originally part of that band of fucknuggets.
>>
>>60520500
Eh, I don't know if there are task forces sent out exactly to tackle cultists living in the boonies or isolated from other people, but flesh cultists, Yellow Serpent followers, and others are typically scolded by the Church. We haven't expanded on what the "Church" really is, but what we've thought of is a desperate mixture of muslims, christians, zionists, buddhists, hinduists basically saying "stop believing in all this unnatural shit and return to humanistic roots"

Where was that? I recall the Church worshiping something called the Powers.

Infosec, The Church, maybe IconoCorp sometimes when they aren't helping/being helped by them?

So "good" cultist who work along side the various religious types who go out and deal with other cultist?

yeah I call BS on that.

The only mention of the church being connected to our world's religions was stated up thread, not even in the posts you linked is it implied they're in anyway connected with abrahamic or eastern religions. If anything they're probably closer to Sikhs or Zoroastrianism.
>>
>>60520617

Personally, the idea of a monolithic organization that has it all figured out is kind of boring. We're keeping with real work like religions surviving into this weird era then everyone is going to approach the threat of cultist of strange and alien gods in their own ways which should allow for a good amount of character diversity.

Allahua Ackbar Muslims swinging around scimtars and rocking AKs, Eastern Orthodox slaves with vodka and AKs, Swiss guard in muscle suits protecting priests as they go do exorcisms and Farcry style good ole boys with shotguns, ARs and bibles.

I'm more or less in agreement. I recall a fair bit of talk about the Church interacting in some way with Iconocorp, so I'd say it's reasonable for it to be an institution primarily focused around the area filled with megacities.

"Yo, Mayuki is best girl mang. You can't deny it."

"Sanchez, you idiot. You know Mayuki turns out to be a guy right?" said a bored Warden trying to get comfortable despite the humid night air.

"What the fuck, Phillips. You can't just ruin it for him. I wanted to see his face when he finally got to that part. Besides. We all know Neko-chan is best girl."

"Jesus Hank. If it weren't for Sanchez over there, I'd have to be ripping your ass for shit taste in waifu.", Phillips tossed back.

A fourth Warden stood watch over his comrades from the camp periphery when their long range comm set barked to life.

"This is Operator 248. I have a code 673 in need of resolution near sector 33. Any takers?"

The Warden let the call go unanswered for several minutes while his squadmates continued squabbling before getting fed up and picking up the receiver.

"Comrade Operator, This is Squad 13. We are being in Sector 31. We could make it to destination in hour and half if push. What are details?"

"Oh, hey 13. Just who I hoped to hear from. Got a guy who didn't agitate his property next to a preserve. Everyone else around him did. For his stupidity, he's got himself a Carnotaurus trying to make nice with his house. To make things worse, He's smack dab in the center of a Great Worm migration path, and as you know, it is that time of year."

"If you guys are up for it, I've made arrangements for a helo to be made available for a rooftop evac, but you'll have to figure out a way to keep the damn Carno off the helo, or it's my ass."
>>
The Slav looked over at his team, still animatedly bashing each other over each other's taste in '2d gf'. Experience told him this could continue for hours, and he was running out of vodka. There was only one thing that could relieve his suffering at this point, he thought, lovingly stroking the wood of his family heirloom, an ancient pattern rifle, famed for it's power and durability.

"Does imbecile have vodka?", he queried.

"Stand by." chimed the Operator. Silence filled the airwaves for a seeming eternity. "Yes 13, damnedest thing. Only thing he brought up onto the roof besides a chair to wait for evac."

"We are enroute. Operator."

"Roger 13. Stop by Sector. 32 subsection 5 to rendezvous with air support. I may have a recon asset lined up. Oh... and one more thing 13."

"Da?"

"No explosives, please. The Fire Wardens are being rather disagreeable tonight."

"Eh, will try, Operator. Have faith in you. You always come through."

In a breakdown of radio discipline, a sigh was heard over the air waves. "Operator out."

"Hey! Baka ass fuckers of mothers! We have job. Pack up."

"Oh for fuck sake Dmitri, we just got set up. And that's not how you use that phrase!" Sanchez whined.

"Too bad. Your shit taste in literature and imaginary women can wait. Besides," Dmitri harangued his colleagues as he packed his gear on his ATV, "only one you should share bed with out here is gun."

(Furious typing in progress. More to come)

Sector 32 Subsection 5

"Dude, why did I let you talk me into this?", asked a lanky, bedraggled looking teenager, my dad will KILL me if we fuck up his truck."

"C'mon, Todd. You heard the radio. There's a 673. Someone needs help, and we're here."

"In a truck, that I'll be murdered if it gets damaged, filled with your stupid RC toys, a 12-gauge, and a gas generator. The fuck we gonna do, Chet?"

With a grin, the Chet pushed up his glasses, "We're gonna help WARDENS man. We'll be the biggest badasses in the ENTIRE Sector! Think about it dude! That chick you're always on about.... Sarah! No Susan?"

"Janette?"

"Yeah! Stephanie! She'll be all over you!"

"Chet. You're an idiot. You know that?"

"Fine. Leave. I'll just wait here like the Operator told us, with MY gear, ride into grorious battle with the Wardens, and I'll see you washing your dad's truck while I'm trying to Stacy to leave me alone."

Todd let out a long sigh. "Fuck it, Mom would kill me if you got hurt, then she'd kill me again for not responding to a call. Just where the hell are these people?"

On approach to rendezvous point

Dmitri checked his navlink a third time before toggling on his comms.

"Operator, this is 13 do you read?"

"13, Operator. Read you loud and clear, what's your 20?"

"We are within visual range of the rendezvous. Where are the other assets?"

"13, you see that pickup? That"s your recon asset."

Dmitri signaled his team to stop. Zooming in with his visual implants, he quickly located the truck and its attendant teens.

"Recon asset is children? With toys! Confirm."

"Affirmative 13. Best I could get this late. The helo will be delayed, it's on the ground due to an errant Cloud Moth. Gives you time to scope the place out."

"Blyat!!"

"Will update you as I have more 13. Operator out."

"So.... What's the plan boss?", Phillips asked with a smirk.

"We teach boys how to be men. Teach them to play poker, and drink. YOU figure out how to make a recon net out of children's toys, and whatever we have available. You are good with toys. yes?"

Phillips, annoyed, barked back "They're DRONES not toys! We've been over this!"

"Whatever you say, comrade." Dmitri shot back, gunning his ATV toward the truck in the distance.

Rendezvous point

The soft chords of a country tune sung by an artist long dead, about a father letting his daughter be kissed by a butterfly softly issued forth from the radio as Chet ran diagnostics on his rotodrones for the umpteenth time. Attention focused on the results as if the slightest lapse of attention would cause the drones to fall apart.

"Man... Country music is weird. Who the hell lets their kid get kissed by a butterfly? Shit.", Todd muttered.

"Goddamnit, are you sure this isn't some prank, Chet? Shit. You WOULD fall for something that stupid. Ronnie"s probably right over that damn hill laughing his ass off..."

"Shhh! Did you hear that?"

"What?"

"Listen!"

"Listen to what....OH WHAT THE FUCK!?"

A stranger stood beside the truck with his weapon ready, quickly sweeping the vehicle before relaxing, finger resting outside the trigger guard.

"You are here for Operator, yes? None of us here are named Ronnie." spoke the stranger in thickly accented English

"H-Holy shit.... You... heard that?" Todd blurted out with a momentary stammer.

"Ayyyy, of course we did mang. It's kind of our job. The ones who don't tend to get eaten, bro."

"Oh, fuck off, Sanchez, don't scare em. Howdy boys. Nice set o drones you got there. You got the heavy lift blades for those by chance? I got the good shit batterywise, but I'm fresh outta rotors. That scary lookin fucker over there is Dmitri. Sanchez is an asshole, and Hank...what the fuck are you doing?"

"Holy shit guys, they have an honest to god fucking FORD! This is beyond a classic! Does it have... HOLY SHIT that's a fucking LS23? Who the fuck is your old man kid? No way in hell this could be yours."

"Apparently Hank is jizzing himself over your ride... Apologies...

Now boys, we need to get a good look at what we're gettin' into, and our air support is apparently delayed by a fucking Cloud Moth in the area, so if y'all would give me a hand with retrofitting these bad boys, that'd be great."

"Philips. You're doing it again. You're vocalizing."

"Shut up! It helps me concentrate!"

Chet nudged his brother, whispering, "See, I"m not the only one!"

"Philips, zoom in on roof."

"Got it."

>Camera zoom in, several jugs become apparent. Approximate gallon capacity.
>Jugs are sealed, and have handle. >Diameter of hole, inch to an inch and a half

"Cha, that's what your old lady wishes you'd fit, bro."

"Can you recover the package, Phillips?"

"Yeah, yeah... pipe down. I got it.

>catch jug handle with hook
>Fuck yeah RTB. We're done here, right?

"For now. Now we drink, and come up with plan."

"Holy hell... Did we just... Steal someone's booze?" Todd muttered.

"Fuck yeah, dude I told you this would be awesome!" Chet rubbed his hands together in excitement.
>>

Location: Far enough away from Anon's house to not resemble breakfast

"Okay, this is now officially NOT awesome." Chet said, sounding increasingly distraught with the way the "Plan" was evolving.

"What is wrong, comrade? Is guarantee to work."

"Well... Yeah... I guess...", Chet managed to whine, "It"s just that... We're using my drones as bait..."

Dmitri interjected, "We are using drones to place concussion charges as bait. So long as Anon is not total faggot, should be eezy peezy. He zips into harness before all bombs go off, Helo rescues hims drops him in bed of truck, we drive out. Beast is still being chasing bombs... No problem."

"But, hypothetically..." Todd asks "what if Anon is a TREMENDOUS faggot. Like, can't get strapped into the harness before all the bombs run out?"

Dmitri smirked, "That is why we are keeping flash bang in reserve on drones, and installing loudspeaker with which to play very loud German marching tunes and Polkas. This will enrage the beast, causing it to hunt down the drones long enough to compensate for Anon's TREMENDOUS level of faggotry."

"Okay... I get it." Chet admitted, "But seeing as this guy is in this situation entirely of his own making, what if he's like some sort of UberFaggot the likes of which the world has never seen?"

Dmitri looked thoughtfully into his glass as he poured himself some more of Anon's vodka.

"In this case, we send Sanchez in helicopter. If looks like Anon cannot get out of his own way, Sanchez will fast rope down, and knock Anon unconscious, fastening him into harness. We"d normally leave Anon to suffer for his own Faggotry, but Operator is good friend, and would not want to reflect on badly."
>>
"So... What happens while Sanchez is doing that?"

"Philips will no longer be playing with toys..."
>DRONES
"...toys, so will be free to use ATV with Comrade Hank to keep creature distracted and away from truck."

"Anddd.... If it comes for us in the truck anyway?" Todd asked.

Dmitri pulled an object out of his bag, and screwed it into a lug mounted beneath the barrel of his ancient rifle.

"I will be in back of truck. Operator is good friend. I will make sure you are safe
