Inquisitorial Observer: Not now man, everyone knows what they're here for, at least I hope you all do by now. Now let's get this started. Administratum, you first. Go.

Administratum Representative: Ummm….

Governor-Marshal: Representing the Adeptus Ministorum, Priest Gregory Hammond. Representing the Adeptus Administratum, Sub-Prefect Laurence DuPont. Observing on behalf of the The Holy Orders of the Emperor's Inquisition, Inquisitor [REDACTED]. Representing the Haarlockian Noble houses-

>Rather than delay until I have all the dialogue bits in order, I'm just going to post this part and return with the rest in two weeks, once I've ditched my houseguests and had a chance to get some help on things from the guy who put this whole convoluted mess of a plot together.

Inquisitorial Observer: Good show "Governor-Marshal", but if you could just dial that whole "The Law" thing back a little bit, that'd be great.

Governor-Marshal: Sir.

Inquisitorial Observer: Now where are we on the arrests? I've received confirmation that the Inquisitorial convoy will be arriving for them in three days, and I expect your men to have the entire collection ready.

Governor-Marshal: The last of the fugitives was apprehended this morning. We'll have shuttles ready to begin transferring them into your custody as soon as you're ready.

Inquisitorial Observer: My custody? Oh no, I'd be wasted on guard duty, and I've got plenty on my plate putting this whole mess of a planet back into working order. I shudder to think what you'd do without me. Don't worry, headquarters has sent several of their, shall we say, less intellectually inclined Inquisitors to handle the transportation of these traitors. I'm sure they'll be able to handle any problems, and I think I'll send my Interrogator along too... She's been having trouble staying "focused" lately; time for a change I think.

Governor-Marshal: Sir?

Inquisitorial Observer: Nevermind. Just be sure to have all your best Arbites on hand and briefed on the transfer procedures I sent over. Remember, the artifacts go first, then the Governor and his nobles, then the Secret Police, and THEN the varying Adepta traitors.

Governor-Marshal: And the Rogue Agents?

Inquisitorial Observer: What? Those idiots? This convoy is for the IMPORTANT prisoners, the whole point is to keep them as isolated from any outside support as possible.

Governor-Marshal: So you've requested a seperate transfer ship then?

Inquisitorial Observer: For THEM? Of course not. While the Inquisition, not to mention me personally, will be more than happy to make an example, they themselves are completely unimportant. Just send them over on the next Arbite prison ship you've got going that way.

Governor-Marshal: Adeptus Arbite vessels are not "prison ships". They are the Fist of the Emperor's Justice, Enforcers of the Pax Imperialis, The Longest Arm of The-

Inquisitorial Observer: Yes, yes, I get the picture, but they ARE Imperial Vessels: they surely have a brig, or at the very least a closet or laundry room where you dump drunken crew. Chuck the idiots in there.

Governor-Marshal: You are instructing me to transport a rogue team highly trained Inquisitorial agents to their trial... In. A. Laundry room.

Inquisitorial Observer: Oh come on. They're "highly trained Inquisitorial agents" in the same sense you were a traffic officer, just because someone with a low sense of humor declared them such doesn't make it true. And in any case, they'll be on an entire ship full of Arbites! Not even the most brain-damaged, slow-witted, incompetent, meathead of an officer would let themselves… um, be taken by, um…

Governor-Marshal:...

Inquisitorial Observer: Well, I mean, actually-

Governor-Marshal: Very well, I see to their delivery to Inquisitorial Headquarters personally. My second in command will fill in-

Inquisitorial Observer: No!

Governor-Marshal:…

Inquisitorial Observer: I, uh, need you here. To keep things running, maintain the Rule of Law on this dangerously criminal world, and all that stuff.

Governor-Marshal:…

Inquisitorial Observer: Look, just ship them off and don't worry about it. That's a direct order.

Governor-Marshal:…Sir.

Inquisitorial Observer: Good. That's settled then. Just let me know when your ship arrives, should have some of the mundane evidence cataloged and ready for transport by then, and possibly report on-

Oak is smart enough to understand the Occurance border is pretty stealthy, dispite manifesting a Daemonhost twice now. I mean, when transporting the fucking Zoanthrope all the Imperial vessels thought it was a ship full of genestealers.

Oaks only flaw in regards to the ship is he never gave the Captain - and only the Captain - a Rogue Trader license, probably because he feared the AGP might actually become real pirates

Communications Officer: Yes, I told him, he said the Inquisitor requested it specifically.

First Officer: The Inquisitor? These are Inquisitorial prisoners?

Communications Officer: He, um, didn't say. Just that they "weren't important", and that their crimes were included in the official transfer request. I have it here.

First Officer: These are parking violations… Are you SURE he was the Governor-Marshal?

Communications Officer: Yes, definitely. Very, very definitely.

First Officer: … none of this makes any sense.

Communications Officer: I told him that sir. He just said it wasn't our job to understand The Law, just enforce it.

First Officer: Hmmm, he's right about that at least... Who the hell did these guys piss off to get themselves shipped to Inquisitorial Headquarters for a bunch of unpaid parking tickets?

Communications Officer: The Inquisition?

First Officer: Well obviously, the poor dumb bastards. Get this filed away to the Quartermaster's office along with the shipping request, and inform the Head Medicae that she's getting a new patient. Oh, and send a copy to the Head Proctor as well; at least this means we can switch a few of his trainees from janitorial to guard duty, he'll like that. What if this all a part of Oak's plan to rescue them while making the traitor inquisitors or whatever think that they're being taking out of the picture? The AGP must have gotten a reputation amongst the traitors, so it might be a move to give them false comfort.

I'm just playing devil's advocate though, so maybe Asshat is just being an asshat

I hope Sarge isn't locked up into the laundry as well. They'd have to make room for the gurney and life support rig.
>>
>>60235463
I'm pretty sure Sarge is locked up in the medical room. Doc probably could get in there just by walking in and looking vaguely doctor-like, so he should be okay
>>
>>60235493
Hope so. After the shitshow with Bane, it looks like it's his turn to be out of commission for whatever possible shenanigans take place.

Of all the times for my internet to start flickering.

...Wait, which fictional detective is Clouseau? Because the one of coming up with is the clown from The Pink Panther, which bodes... badly... is close proximity to the AGP...

To save you some conspiracy theory-ing, we just pulled his ID out of the laundry and started falsifying orders with it. Nubby did not actually disguise himself as an Intelligencer.

This was just an inter-arc downtime, not actual serious gameplay. It literally went: "roll to see who's ID you get" *obviously looks up names on google* "It says Head Intelligencer Clouseau, now what do you do with it?"

It's like an object lesson on why you do not lock even the shittiest of Inquisitorial agents in the fucking laundry room.
>>

Oh gods, Nubby has turned a Laundry Room into a Crime den. Those poor Arbites who tried to have their Laundry done and had everything fucking stolen
>>
>>60235860

Check your pockets or the prisoners will do it for you!

Really, one would expect someone with the title of Head Intelligencer to be a *little* more careful... I forget tissues a couple times a year, but that's it.
>>
>>60235554
There's no way for it to be possible, but I can't help but feel that the AGP are responsible for the warp storm...
>>
Ok. I'm finding Asshats attitude very suspicious. Considering the capacity of the AGP to disregard orders (up to getting an actual Inquisition rosette), he should at least consider them dangerous enough to be treated like a live bomb.
>>
>>60235979
Wait, aren't they specifically being sent BEHIND the prisoner convoy? Did they hit the storm too? Is this Bane's doing?
>>
>>60236038
Suprise suprise: sending the ship full of chaos artifacts through the warp was a stupid fucking idea and was just asking for someone to infiltrate the "important" ship and activate it all

if there were guardsmen on it, that chaos shit would be rigged to blow, labeled DO NO TOUCH, and get dumped in the Gellar field, so no warp shit would happen. But nooooo
>>
>>60235902
To be fair any room Nubby is in becomes a crime den by default.
>>
Okay, so let's see if I got this...

AGP manage to befriend/manipulate Mullroy and Murtogg, allowing them to set up their various rackets and acquire resources, assist them in defending that part of the ship to draw the two into debt to the AGP, and also got Doc out of there to help with the wounded.
>>
>>60236141
Honestly, it might be better for the Arbites to have Nubby in the laundry room. At least then he can't turn the brigg into a super crime den and teach all the inmates how to ship hijack Occurance Border style
>>
>>60236096
>Rigged to blow
>Next to the gellar field

I'd personally recommend one or the other.
>>
>>60236233
Just put it in a room adjacent to the Generators.
>>
>>60236202
True. Instead they're kept in ultra minimum security and I'm guessing it took all of three days to game the system and return to their usual shipboard pass times while still maintaining the illusion that they're in detention. At least the Arbites didn't decide to use the honor system on the AGP.

They didn't use the honor system, right? Right?
>>
>>60236294

Terrance Dockbosson, fifth of his name and Shift-3 Dockboss of Small-Craft Bay 12, watched approvingly as his team moved to receive the last incoming shuttle of the shift. His appreciative nodding and thoughts of the meal waiting in his cabin were interrupted by the opening of one of the Bay's personnel doors and the arrival of two fully armored Arbites. Knowing an snap inspection when he saw one, Terrance regretfully bid all thoughts of a hot soya dinner goodbye and moved to greet the taller of the pair, who looked to be a full Investigator instead of the usual grunts that drew the duty. He was surprised, albeit pleasantly, when the helmeted Investigator waved off his proffered manifest, and merely ordered him to "Gas it back up, and then take an early break, we'll handle the rest."

Terrance rounded up his team and directed the Investigator towards the bay's master control altar, which the taller Arbite was unexpectedly interested in. As they made their way towards the exit, the youngest member of his team, paused and asked whether it was really okay to leave their post before the end of shift. The dockboss just paused and directed the boy's attention to where the shorter Arbite was waving a stack of official documents in the face of an annoyed shuttle pilot, who batted them aside and asked "Aren't you a little short for an Arbite?"

The Arbite shrugged "Aren't you a lil moufy for a deliveryman what wants to get a proper tip an' not 'ave 'is knees broke?" As the pilot, who was eveidently unfamiliar with Arbites and their penchant for literalness, puffed up with indignation and began to respond, Terrance clapped the boy on the shoulder and steered him out the exit. The door shut behind them on a bellow of "I'm not a damn deliveryman you lit- MY KNEE!"

Decades later, Judge-Captain Terrance Dockbosson the Sixth, fondly recalled that as the day he decided to abandon several generations of family tradition and enlist in the Arbites.

After thinking on it for a bit I'm reasonably sure that Traffic Warden Dread had them put in the laundry room out of spite. If Sarge can pay his parking fines in a timely manner he may have an ally in Dread, whom I was sure was going to join the crew, provide some piece of critical Intel to save the day then slap Asshat with a fine for Conducting A Covert Operation Without Applying For And Receiving A Permit or some such.

Nubby had just finished cramming the annoyingly loud pilot into a handy shipping container, without any help from Tink mind you, when one of the bay's doors opened to admit two more "Arbites" pushing a loaded pallet and wheelchair respectively.

"Why's the shuttle still closed Tink?" asked the wheelchair-pushing Arbite. "We've got a bit of a time limit here you know."

Up at the control altar, Tink jabbed a few more buttons before throwing his arms up in the air "What the hell do you want me to do about it smartass? This thing just controls the doors and maglocks! Go ask Nubby, he's the one who was too busy arguing with the pilot to notice it closing."

"I fought 'e 'ad a key or somefin! What sort of idiot locks 'imself out of his own damn shuttle, dat's what I wanna know."

Doc groaned and rubbed his oversized helmet as the pair started arguing. He looked to his wheelchair's occupant for some sort of direction, but given the amount of anesthetics and painkillers Sarge was currently on, all he got was few spit bubbles and a snore. Twitch watched the pair for a second in case an order of some sort was forthcoming, and then shrugged, popped open one of the crates on his pallet and pulled out a breaching charge. He'd already started adhering the explosive to the shuttle's airlock before the other guardsmen noticed what he was doing and shouted at him to stop.

The demolitions trooper turned to see why everyone was so upset about him sticking explosives to their getaway vehicle. Behind him the airlock door slid open, briefly sticking on the charge before scraping it off, to reveal three figures.

The robed, dataslate-holding man on the left paused as his foot landed in something sticky, looked down and froze. The carapace-armored and helmeted Sister of Battle on the right of the group froze as well, staring blankly at the assorted "Arbites" at the bottom of the ramp. The third figure, the one with the Ordos Xenos Inquisitorial Rosette on chest, didn't freeze.

"Now if one of you could be so kind as to explain what in the Emperor's name do you think you're doing here, I might just be willing to… Interrogator Sargent?"

Nubby, Tink, and Twitch all made choking noises, Doc however popped his visor up, and looked Inquisitor Oak straight in the eye. "Escaping?"

The Inquisitor paused, began to speak, paused again, and then exploded. "Oh, you've GOT to be kidding me. NOW, you're doing this NOW!?" All four guardsmen took a step backwards. "Do you have ANY idea how hard this is going to make-" the Inquisitor abruptly broke off his rant and deflated. "No, of course you don't, you didn't "need to know" did you?"

"You don't mean-" began Tink, only be cut off as the dataslate wielding Interrogator announced "Ten minutes sir."

Oak winced. "No time, I'll explain later, I promise you, but if I'm going to salvage this I need all of you to get back to your cells RIGHT NOW."

Twitch looked to Nubby, who looked to Tink, who looked to Doc, who vainly looked down at Sarge for a second before accepting that the buck had well and truly stopped. Oak, seeing the hesitation and interpreting it as something more than agonized dithering let out an annoyed groan, and turned to the Sister of Battle at his side. "Would you PLEASE do something about this?"

Amelia Delorisista Amanita Trigestrata Zeldana Malifee von Humpeding shrugged, pulled off her stupid helmet, and announced "Come on you idiots, let's go. Back to your cells." She jogged down the ramp, past a slackjawed Twitch and Nubby, and without pausing grabbed the wheelchair from Doc. "Double time soldiers, THAT'S AN ORDER GUARDSMEN! Right Sarge?"

The snoring noncom jerked in his seat and slurred "habs n order guarshem", before slumping over again.

Twitch, Nubby, and Doc shared a look and a shrug, and then filed after the pair. Up at the control altar, Tink grumpily undid the door control overrides he'd just implemented, and with a mutter of "worst escape attempt ever..." fell in at the end of the line.

I'd like to get the rest of this (in which the GM uses his NPC to spoon feed us the plot we've been so studiously ignoring) out weekend after next, but that'll depend on how alive I am after a week of mountain shenanigans. At least I'll be able to talk to the one person who actually remembers all of Oak's lines while I'm up there though, so that'll help.

Hokaaayy, no wonder the cogboys were upset...

IT'S A GOOD DAY.
>>
>>60238676

Nah, was originally planning too, but it takes me way too long to generate stuff that isn't based on actual gameplay of some sort. (pretty much everything until our escape attempt was a straight time-skip, with just a bit of bullshitting to fill in the vague amusing details for the hell of it)

Might go back much later and try to pencil something more substantial in, but can't really justify putting off the final chapter even more.

is this the end all be all for the party?

Anyone know which character shoggy plays?

IIRC it's Nubby.

For those shenanigans? TOTALLY justified!

So did Dredd deliberately take asshat literally, or was he just being Dredd?

I can't wait to see Oak's reaction to them being held in a cleaning closet the whole trip. I'm just imagining him being lead to their "cells" and the awkward conversation that will happen

I wonder if they're a relative of Inquisitor Obi Wan Sherlock Clouseau from Rogue Trader...

YES YES YES YES YES. Shoggy, I cannot express to you using human language how hype AGP posts make me. Or Dolphin language. Or any language that I know of.

The mission Oak is about to assign will be the last one. It's a biggun though, and after that there'll be a little epilogue covering where everyone ends up once their finally rotated off the front.

>>60239345

Part of it was Dredd being intentionally obtuse, the other part will be explained by Oak.>>60236096 is surprisingly close to whats going on

Can you pass the Edits onto Sarges player and let him know he's a minor hero for our dark heresy party? Our Krieger Captain Alein has memorized his Field guide

Ha, will do, he'll appreciate that.

Well, that's a good question aint it? There's definitely a fair bit of some variety of fuckery going around, some of which will be covered in the upcoming lore-dump.

I hope that at the end, you do reveal who you have been playing all this time, jsut to confirm or deny suspicions.

The ride has been long and it has been wild.
>>
>>60244971
he already told us a while back
>>
>>60244691
So, it was confirmed, right? You plan Nubby most often, and sometimes other characters when there's a 6th or 7th main character wandering around, like Fumbles?

Also, love your stories too much.
I actually mean that.
Whenever I read you, I need to take a break writing my own stuff, since I end up having a bit of you leak in when I'm trying to make a serious scene or tone happen.

Sorry! (really) I have a lot of trouble processing IC conversations into sensible dialogue, and the whole Oak thing is about 10 pages of back and forth conversation. I'm tempted just to greentext talking-head it and be done with it, but then my GM would kill me.

>>60245074

I have that same problem if I get into Audiobooks while I'm supposed to be writing, it's not a problem if the tone fits, like Discworld or the like, but other times...

>>60245074
>>60245189
Ya, I was Nubby and most of Fumbles, Doc's player handled 99% of Aimy's stuff. We have a long standing tradition of players helping pilot friendly NPCs, particularly in combat, to free up the DM for enemies and plot stuff. Of course this is all based on the condition that we stay In Character with them, and permission can be revoked at any time. The Diplomacy Adept, various Interrogators/Inquisitors, and Space Marines being the major exceptions there, since we were judged not have a clear idea what their real motivations were.

>>60245369

"Live" is a bit of an overstatement, but thanks man, glad you enjoy the stories.
>>
>>60245624
>I'm tempted just to greentext talking-head it and be done with it, but then my GM would kill me.
It would be 100% fine by me. On one hand I'm tempted to say that you should just do it, on the other hand your DM did do a fantastic job on this, and I don't want him to feel bad.
>>
>>60245624
Hey Shoggy, can I make a small request? At the end of this, can you post a link to a repository of all the associated art of the AGP and other characters? I've been collecting it but am sure I'm missing stuff and would love to see all of it in one place.
>>
>>60236579
You might want to speak with more respect: Canada just humiliated the US President in front of the whole world.
>>
>>60245777
I'd rather Shoggy take the long path. We're pretty close to the end - Trial, Oak's Mission, Epilogue is the order I think - and I don't really want Shoggy to blitz through the last Guardsmen Party. We just gotta hold out untill fresh ammo and reinforcements come - Remember the NCO BCM policy: Bitch, Complain, Man up and do it anyway
>>
>>60246041
>Canada just humiliated the US President in front of the whole world.
The US President humiliates the US President in front of the whole world on a daily basis. Not much of a bar to reach there.

that's fine on my end, sometimes having the "deleted scenes" in a movie/series gives it more flavor, and this is most certainly the case!
