JTTRPG Discord - Look for games in "On-Topic", Not "General"
https://discord.gg/9RUTurB

Kamigakari is a JTTRPG Focused on episodic storytelling, with simple but tight mechanics.

Its design goal is to start players spread out, getting involved with the episodes peculiarities, and eventually coming together to fight a big bad, A la Power rangers, Kamen rider, Magical girl shows, and other such shows in that vein.

TL;DR, Its a Monster of the Week Format game with an emphasis in the fluff on high power shenanigans of just about every type.
Remember boys and girls, Japanese schedules suck, so JTTRPGS are optimized toward quick and easy sessions.
That said, they can be adapted for longer ones.

Originally named Unit 04 for the Victory Project (aka "V Project"), he was then taken under custody by a woman named Shiori Murasame, who, being the fun-loving and screwy lass she was, decided to make him her "adoptive son", and deigned to call him Sieg. (Even then, she occasionally calls him "Jeeg" or "Zeek".) Though I haven't gotten around to working with the GM in getting him worked into the setting, admittedly because of a lack of initiative on my part. Please admonish me.

Pic related is the ideal Titan Armor body. You might not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

The card that I pulled the art from is known as Perfect Raizer, made by having a mecha piloted by another mecha inside piloted by a human. Through the perfect pilot, technicians, and engineers, it is the super fightin' robot around.

But in the case of Sieg, he's a pretty shy guy (mostly to hide the fact that he's a cyborg and shit), and I'd figure his Titan Armor would be pic related, or something like that.

So far as i'm aware, no one has tried as of yet.

I'm not sure why you would, for that matter. Roll20 is far simpler, to my knowledge.
>>
>>56598694

IMO Roll20 is a chore to use and TTS is a treat, although I've only used them both from the player side
>>
>>56598739
>roll20 is a chore to use

I mean, not any moreso than any other tool. There's always gonna be a certain amount of work you will need to put in, and there's no way of really getting around it.

Still, more power to you if you wanna use TTS.
>>
>>56598777
I just have problems with it often, like the game app not properly loading, images not uploading, slow response to moving tokens/typing in chat, jukebox never seems to work, etc which to be fair are usually just on my end. I picked up TTS recently and I've only played a few games through it but it seems to run fairly smoothly in comparison? I wouldn't know anything about uploading new game types to it though
>>
>>56598841
Uploading new game types to TTS wholesale is a right pain in the ass.

As for your issues, my condolences. Roll20 isn't all that bad to use if you don't have those issue's, but i can see it being a pain if you do.

Same anon (>>56606606) here.
Although it'd be my first time GM-ing, I am interested in it, especially for an enjoyable system like Kamigakari.

My personal time-zone is UTC+1, available on fridays, saturdays, and week-day afternoons/evenings.
Other than that, I am flexible in regards to voice/text, and setting and theme of the campaign.
If that all sounds fine with you, you can contact me at Sporelittle#4591 and I'll ask you some questions.

Is there a reason the bullseye/circle talents have two different symbols? Like for Arc Slayer A, Spirit Void and Invincible Manslayer both have circle-shaped marks but they look different. One is thinner than the other, and it's consistent for all styles. Is it aesthetic or am I missing something?
>>
>>56613389
So far, I see the thicker circles are actives while the thinner ones are passives.
>>
>>56609673
Luckily, setting stuff up for kamigakari is much simpler than, for example, Dnd/PF or shadowrun, or most systems, i'd argue. The book is capable of making new scenario's fairly easily and rolling on the tables can yield interesting results.

On top of that, Since the stats are already determined for mononoke and such, there's much less rolling on the GM's end and more deciding, speeding up things a fair bit.

The hardest part is hammering out a story, but isn't it always?
>>
>>56613389
I'm gonna be honest, that might just be PDF formatting. For the sake of the rules themselves, they mean exactly the same thing, so don't worry bout it too much.
>>
>>56614457

I thought so since it doesn't happen in the pastebin expansions, it's just consistent enough I thought it might be something else.
>>
>>56616353
Yeah, i noticed that as well, but it doesn't mean anything in terms of the system. Its just a weird visual glitch in the PDF.
>>
>>56614446
Learning a system is easy, writing a plot is less
>>
>>56619253
True, but a system can make things much harder if it isn't well structured. I'm not gonna say kamigakari is the best structured thing ever, but it is simpler than average.

Writing is always the hardest part of any campaign. There's no getting around that.

Alright lets get down to it. We kick things back off again with a meeting back at the DHS HQ. The crew outside of Shizune finally gets to meet the two other mages Furiten and Mei Ling. Futaba and Furiten have an exchange and Jagasaki notices something a little off about him in that the sense that he gives off a similar vibe to himself. Furiten meets Akira, the last time he had heard about Akira he was expecting a boy and here was a girl. He makes a double take and points out that Akira should be male. Shizune chastises him for being rude.
This is the closest anyone every gets to date at figuring out what exactly Akira is.
As a point of order, the main reason Goezome has invited everyone back is to tell everyone how horribly screwed the organisation is over in Osaka. They are screwed in precisely three ways. The first of which is the phenomena of people within the Osakan populace being ten times more compatable with the Aramitama. This compatability forming a symbiotic relationship between monster and man granting supernatural powers. The research team settled on a name for this phenomena, they called it the "Яeverse" and as such the DHS society would have to deal with Яeverse Godhunters. They deduced that Dahlia must have been one of these such Яeverse Godhunters.
So theres that, also the fact that there have been sightings of Яeverse Godhunters that match the description of two missing middle school girls, actively causing chaos in the city. The second problem the DHS would have to deal with would be the increasing activity of The Church in Osaka.

Osaka being a strange place at this point in time, it would not be unusual for The Church and the DHS to be operating in the same city, if not for a fact that the two groups were in an active feud. They would need to secure some kind of ceasefire, because Lord knows they don't have the budget to fight a war with a bunch of crazed templars.
The last problem would be Osaka's unsecure leylines. Aramitama love to sit on these things and having them as open as they are is bad news, it means that any old person can start sapping away at that power. Barriers would need to be errected in order to cut off future Aramitama.
First point of order, dealing with these Godhunters. They took a look at the information packet on the girls. The two of them are dressed in Orange and Blue, they look like Magical Girls, though to call them that is a horrible corruption of the original phrase as they draw their power from the power that is the Aramitama. The girls go by Yamada Aoi and Renji Miku. Akira vows to teach them of the true justice of magical girls, implying Shizune should dress up to set a good example for them.

The crew does some digging and they find the pesky pair causing trouble on the outskirts of the city. The duo see's our intrepid heroes and they perform their introduction.
"Evil shall be banished from this land!"
"We are the harbingers of purity!"
"With the power of Love!"
"Friendship"
"Harmony"
"Incredible Violence"
"Together we will bring an end to the darkness"
"We are Яebirth of Justice!"

And what would a super team introduction be without pyrotechnics. The building behind them catches on fire and explodes.
Akira is disspointed that they didn't get to invest in magical girl costumes and Jagasaki is confused at their chanting. Aoi points and says "We shall know no evil from the likes of you" to which Shizune asks Ito "So. What did you do to these girls". Ito proclaims innoence because those girls don't even have boobs. Renji gets rather flustered by this. They try their best to question the girls as they can before it comes down to combat. They ask about the Dahlia but that only makes them madder, Renji in particular. Aoi manages to calm her down with the only thing that could concievably do the trick at this moment in time, yuri. They share a kiss and this brings out the main threat from two of them. Two devilish looking creatures coated in fire and ice. Aoi is covered in a layer of protective ice crystals and Renji's skin burns hot like fire

Combat starts, the two creatures are seperated far from eachother and inch ever so close every turn, at the same time Aoi is slinging spells and Renji is getting up and close with her sword. The group agrees they should go easy on them because they are just little girls.

Akira gets up to Renji and promises to be gentle. She hit her with a hurricanrana knocking her onto the ground. She then elbow drops her stomach, with a critical hit. Akira isn't done yet. A girls justice is in her fists, she wraps the girl with her arms and slams her back into the ground with a suplex. ROLLING!, and then another, JUSTICE!, she then delivered a devastating throw behind her dropping her back hard into the ground FLASH! Akira just Astral Finished the hell out of Renji.
Renji is literally crawling right now and Ito bats her finished with a set of attacks, with that she is out of the fight. The arena grows incredibly cold as there is no fire left to balance out the ice. The fire devil stops moving as the ice one slowly makes it's way to it. The crew deduces something bad is probably going to happen should the two meet so they set out to stop it.
Aoi fights hard for her fallen comrade as they are hurting things that are precious to her. Monster of the week Akira gets her hands on Aoi. Akira sweeps her off her feet and catching her by the ankles giving her a tilt a whirl spin before throwing her up into the air sending her flying as she hit the ground, chasing after her before putting her into a painful clutch, all the while chastising her about how everyone is fighting to protect something they love. If I were to describe this scene, have you even seen Naruto? Remember that bit where Rock Lee fights Gaara? Remember that bit where Lee is so fast that Gaara can't put up his sand wall? It was like that, except replace sand with ice.

Aoi is stuck in this painful hold and Shizune shoots her with a GRAND SPELL INVOCATION and Aoi explodes and all the ice in the area flies in all directions like frozen pieces of shrapnel. Both girls are down for the count.
Now that the girls are defeated the priority is to make sure they didn't die, Shizune tries to act all cool saying "Yeah, make sure we didn't kill them" before immediately realising there is no reason for her to act cool and she immediately goes "DAMN IT WE DIDN'T OVER DO IT DID WE!?"
The group decides the best course of action is to take them to a secure place and to get them healed up. Taro still has his magical girl healing powers and the two girls were fairly protected by fire and ice so they weren't as worse off as they could be had they been regular humans.
The safest place for these girls to be, the Onigata Love Hotel.

Writing up the next part now.

It has more to do with my work than anything else. I work at Walsmart push carts and my work days are random each week.

I feel GMing a game may be more plausible than being an actual player. I shall read over the material and attempt a one-shot to see how it fairs. I DMed a 5e game once and it was a smashing success, so I feel hopeful.

I long since stopped watching the show but it was fun in it's own way. I think part of what made me want to play SB was the fact that for a period of time it was the deck relegated to goofs and throwaway villains.

Hell a friend of mine shared a clip of the show when Rising Supernova and pulling off the sickest nastiest first turn stride combo, only to lose like a huge fraud because Atem himself might as well be behind the wheels when the protagonists are playing.

It depends on the group. I have one that prefers everything in-character done on Roll20 while another likes to only use it for combat-related stuff
>>
>>56633615
I will add I personally prefer the latter since players and GMs like to go more in-depth when on Discord. Might just be anecdotal but it feels like Roll20's smaller chatbox makes people engage in RP less and focus on mechanics more

Question.

Kansainon started off Futaba Onigata's description in the beginning with "Lewd? You haven't SEEN lewd!"
Is this something that comes up later, a trait about the character that has been lost among the details and actoions not recounted in the story time, or more just a joke about Futaba's dark stalker heritage and ownership of a love hotel that doesn't actually reflect the characters speech, mannerisms, and behavior?
>>
>>56644843
It's more a physical description about how she has gigantic knockers and clothes measured in string length rather than yardage.

There were titty jokes bouncing around early-on with relative consistency (for example, Onigata suggests Ito go be a good meat shield and he snaps back she has two large ones already) but some of those are being lost in the telling because GM and players aren't keen on direct game logs being posted.

Also around this point in the game Onigata's player started to fall off into the background then had to bail from the game entirely so some things involving her had to be dropped.

Also Onigata is a kind of in-joke to begin with; the player was in a previous campaign playing pic related and was VERY lewd (nearly raped Billy the Kid) and was asked if they could tone it down before things went full magical realm. So ONIgata FUTAba is a big-tittied succubi who runs a love hotel, but is actually cold and distant.

Alrighty getting back on track here to finish off that part
Also a note and a word of advice: Now if it isn't apparent this party is rather powerful at this stage in the game especially seeing as they are about I want to say 1/4 into the game as it stands today (just a sort of ballpark figure). I am totally ok with this because as of the latest session I threw an equal leveled Godhunter in a 1v1 situation and it was fairly balanced, so I can now throw bigger and badder things at them more comfortably. One of the reasons why they are so powerful is that I was giving a kushimitama every time they beat an encounter and I was letting them bank them, these added up because I was giving them on top of if I remember lavish rewards in gold and mats. So I guess the message i'm going to say here is, don't be scared of a powerful party but if you are concerned just trim the ammount of G you give them. Back to the story.

So we return to three of our heroes. Akira, Futaba and Taro. They had taken charge of the two unconscious magical girls and sought to bring them to a safe location for questioning when they would wake up. Now, just in case any of you don't know what a love hotel is (and if you don't, i'm pretty surprised) it's more or less a hotel you check into to have hot sex in comfortable privacy. Two young unconscious girls are being taken into a side alley into a secret enterance to this hotel. [CONCERN]

These girls might still be dangerous so the three of them don't seem to take any chances. They head to a secure place where any damage taken here would be minimal, a bdsm dungeon lower down in the hotel. Taro tied the two of them up back to back on a set of chairs, Futaba comments that it might have been better to use a magical barrier on them instead, which is something the dumb fox forgot entirely about. They wake the two of them up, well one of them up using some kind of medicine that bring them out of that coma they were beaten into.
>>
>>56646727
Aoi wakes up and immediately realised the situation they are in and tries to go for an ice spell but she just doesn't have the power for it. Renji is snoring and Taro comments surprised because he was using the good stuff. With no sort of out Aoi is forced to explain. In truth Renji was dying and no matter what kind of medication she was recieving she would not get better. Aoi stumbled upon rumours of the Aramitama and their power to grant wishes at the cost of human life, she took up that mantle in order to save her friend.

Renji at some point realised what Aoi was doing, but instead of abandoning her friend for her horrible actions, she joined her so that she could share the burden together. The Aramitama has a way of warping ones judgement and the two eventually met with the Dahlia who in a way became their senpai, until she was killed by the party. To sum it up, Aoi and Renji were doing this to rid themselves of the illness that was plaguing Renji and also because the demons they were paired up with more more or less altering their sense of justice, turning them into corruptions of typical magical girls.
>>

>>56646748
Aoi has nothing more to say to the two of them, for all she cared they could kill her but she pleaded for them not to hurt Renji. Akira comments about the Kushimitama they have been gathering from the badder aramitama they have been slaying and how they might be able to bring about a small miracle. Kushimitama is a very valuable and powerful thing in the world of Kamigakari, and without a second thought Futaba had ordered Taro to take the only kushimitama she had left. They expend it and Renji wakes up as if she had a long sleep, Aoi is unsure if the Kushimitama fragment actually worked or not but either way Futaba had done a great deed for them and she owed her. Futaba insisted that this was out of kindness.
Aoi asks where the two of them are and when she finds out the answer she gets redder than the sun unable to get her words out, Akira jokingly chastises the two of them for freeloading and Aoi stammers out that she is out of the Reverse Godhunting gig and that she'll pay up for freeloading.

Futaba says this is not neccessary and leaves with Akira before winking at the two of them saying "It's soundproof you know"closing the door behind her.
And that does it for that particular session.

Yeah, if i have one complaint with the game, at least as it is now, its that endgame hits extremely fast. Especially with the lack of examples of higher level mononoke.

Do you need help playtesting mononoke designs against PC builds or against each other to help get that work done?

When in doubt, watch an anime or something.

Contrary to popular belief, players won't actually care if you rip things off, usually, so long as you are tactful about it.

Of course there's the odd man out that will throw a shitfit, but if he's the only one with an issue then he's being that guy.
>>
>>56648568
Its really not that hard, actually. Its basic math. Its just getting all the numbers grouped up properly from across 2 books.

It'd be a lot harder if some of the other books were actually fully translated.
>>
>>56648536
Talking to your players can get you set up with a lot of setting, tone, plot, and example inspiration works to pull from.

The two longest running games I've ever been in (a vampire game that ran for 1.5 years and a Rogue Trader game that ran for 2.5 years before I left the group but is still going)
Both started with the players and GM talking about that stuff for 2-3 weeks before session 1. We also finished character starting and initial concepts and backgrounds at the same time.

>Actually, now that i think on it, since the higher level stuff has fewer and fewer examples per level, it may be prudent to do actual playtesting. I'll get back to you on that.

Sometimes the exact opposite works as well. I'm in a dnd 3.5 group thats been going for a year and a half as well, and our DM Pulled most of us into it on a whim.

I was so utterly uninvolved with the plot and inexperienced with tabletop that i made a complete rando monk with no story to speak of besides "Punch things" and i'm basically the party leader now. And i'm not saying i usurped leadership, i'm saying these guys were inept enough that the 10 CHA monk ended up the party face over the rogue and bard.

Technically speaking, i think thats covered by the "Name XNumber" Thing you see in some mononoke names. That basically means its X amount of mononoke acting as a cohesive whole. For example, the basest mononoke in the book is the "Shard prisoner x5".

For all intents and purposes though, its still one mononoke. If this isn't quite what you meant, you'll need to elaborate a bit.

The threat of the two magical girls had been taken care of and Goezome needed a report for her records and because she is a stickler for administration and to get on with one of the proverbial 99 problems she has to deal with on a daily basis and she doesn't have any time for guff, especially from Furiten who she was meeting with before the crew arrived.

Shizune asks Akira what information they got out the girls. He replies with "We tied the two girls down in a love hotel and engaged in a bit of wish fulfilment, they racked up a big bill too". Goezome drops her pen. Things were looking like they were getting out of hand, Akira was not wrong about what he said though. Shizune tries to control the situation by assuring Goezome that they probably didn't do anything illegal, to which Goezome points out that what they are saying sounds very illegal. Futaba adds in "Is it wrong if they were willing?" and gets a loud NOT HELPING from Shizune.

Furiten comments that perhaps the Dahlia might have been dealt with much faster if someone could get into her pants to which Goezome chastises him, though he does say that it might have been better to as he so put it "grind them into the dirt underneath your heel" though Futaba insists that it's an investment, better to get the bad guys on your side than eliminate them.

Goezome is pretty done here, but there are still some fish to fry. The church is still a problem and have to be taken care of. She has more details that the actual force sent to deal in Osaka is a smaller off-shoot of the main branch of the church. The general view of The Chuch to outsiders is 'Heretics! Ree!'. The group gathers some clues and tries to find where these christians are hiding out. They decide to sent Akira and Shizune, mainly because if they sent Ito he would probably mouth off, Jagasaki is an actual demon and Futaba is something akin to a succubus.

The search brings the two to an alley where they have narrowed down where the Church would be, definitely does not look like a church. They wonder to themselves if they had the right place, and then it hits them. A smell, a pleasent smell. The smell of cooking and spices, indian spices. It's the kind of smell that would make you hungry even if you are full. This smell is coming from a now open door. Two people come out, a well dressed man in a black suit with a cross hanging from his neck and a beautiful looking nun behind him.

I remember a while back after I put Kiritsugu in my game by pure accident I assured my players that I would not put Kotomine in this game as well. Well. I forgot that promise. Meet Christophe Lombardo and Hakuno Mary. Just to add to that anime feel I tried to make his name thematically rediculous as to fit with what a mangaka thought sounded cool.

The man speaks back into the room he came out of and thanked them for the meal and for God to be with them, taking a small hankerchief to wipe the small specs of red from his mouth and hands when he turns around to see Shizune and Akira just standing there. They improvise.

Shizune speaks in a softer worried voice asking for help as she and her friend are lost, which techically isn't a lie. The man happily obliges to help two lost children, asking where they are looking to go. He asks them what they are looking for, and Akira asks about the local Church. Christophe chuckles a little with a 'ah yes yes of course of course' and then Mary softly asks him to stop playing games with them. The two of them feel an [OMINOUS PRECENSE] behind them. [ELIZA]

This is some kind of phantom assassin and it can just smell that they aren't baptised. She has a knife to their necks and at the drop of a hat could slit them. Akira says he has a blessing but Shizune warns him to not antagonise them and tries to assure the group that they just want to talk, to which Christophe jabs back that he just wanted to enjoy a meal without spilling red on his suit but he gives them a moment to speak, he abhors deception when it is used against him but today but he would not kill them, right now. 'How merciful of you' Mary says to him.

An INT check is made and Shizune can sort of pin down what this Eliza character is. She isn't something like a bound primal but she seems to be taking orders from Lombardo, she seems something more akin to a ghost or Heroic Spirit. Akira pulls out his ace in the hole for this situation. He speaks to the priest in an ancient gutteral tongue.

「And I desire to approach toward all the lords of the ritual order with a Yasht, toward all the good Yazads, heavenly and earthly, who are set for worship and for praise because of Asha Vahishta.」

Christophe pauses for a moment. Then breaks out into hysterical laughter, the kind of laughter where it kind of hurts and should be accompanied by a clap with the words GOOD SHIT, THAT IS SOME GOOD SHIT RIGHT THERE. He comments that this is unexpected still chuckling hard wiping a small tear from his eye. Mary, Shizune and Eliza are all confused by this. The priest calms him self slightly, still filled with that laughter inside him and asks 'what business does one of YOU have to do with us'
>>

Ok good. They're in talks now and aren't going to kill them right now. Akira points out that times are dangerous in Osaka, and Aramitama attacks are more frequent, an alliance between the DHS and the Church will help to maintain the peace. Christophe gets another good chuckle at finding out the DHS has set up in Osaka now, while an alliance is out of the question Christophe comments that perhaps their boss doesn't need to know about them looking the other way, he says this close to the pair leaning forward, his neck is present to both of them, they could kill him right here and right now, Shizune slightly pushes him away because distance man.

Christophe agrees to at the very least a ceassfire, but promises to kill them and everyone else should they get in the Churches way. What they actually want is unknown, they probably have [COMPLEX MOTIVES] or something. Shizune asks him what he will hypothetically say to his superiors, he says this: "My only true superior is God, and God has chosen to let this society of Heathens continue drawing breath on this wonderful world he has given us.". Akira says under his breath "Great, he's a fundamentalist". The priest dispells his phantom assassin and makes his way out into the street before commenting that they should really try the food in there, it's divine.

Shizune gets to asking what the hell Akira was saying before. It's Avestan, the sacred language of Zoroastrainism from Eastern Iran and one of his mother tongues. What he said to Christophe was some kind of sacred greeting for holy men. There was clearly more to Akira than a strange crossdresser now. Though if there was one thing that was certain right now, both of them were getting very hungry, that smell was dangerous. Akira offers to pay and Shizune is all ears and the two head inside.

It's curry of all types here, this really good food sitting in this alley like a diamond in the rough. The two get to talking about the places they've visited when Shizune comments that she hasn't had a good curry since her last trip to Hong Kong. Akira mentioned he lived in Syria for a little while before everything blew up, went to Okinawa when his sister Risa got a job and to get to meet people and lived for a little while in Taiwan with his sister Taira to 'help him understand more', lastly he lived in London with his mother but he was a baby at the time.

Shizune replies that she has been outside of Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, the Phillipines and Austraillia, and the only place she wouldn't go back to is the Phillipines, frowning an reminiscing. One little thing I forgot to mention was back when Akira and Shizune had their coffee talk at the DHS, before they met, Shizune was sipping her coffee commenting 'it's the only good thing to come out of the Pillippines' quite smugly.

Looking back on it, Shizune thought that the world was in her grasp and that she could always have anything she wanted if she behaved and didn't dissapoint people. She went to meet the church today assuming that they would listen to her if she spoke softly to them. Akira tries to cheer her up saying that things happen and that she could learn from this.

She starts to ask Akira something. What does he plan to do after the Aramitama are dealt with? The fight might not be over in their lifetimes, Akira comments joking imagining the two of them old and grey still fighting monsters. Akira gets a little bitter when Shizune starts saying that they should still try and finish the fight if they can to try and want something better. Shizune still doesn't know what Akira is but he is wary if people would accept him for who he is as oppsoed to a freak or a cute pet, he thinks things aren't going to get better for him.
>>
>>56649769
Shizune is trying pretty hard to pep him up, prodding him about what he dreams of. A place where he can be himself, and herself. He speaks in both his male voice and his female voice. He doesn't want to split up into multiple parts and never come together and hope that other people don't notice, he doesn't know how to do this.

Shizune thinks about this. A place where Akira can be himself? She comments that perhaps both their dreams can work together. Shizune has a big house waiting for her in Tokyo if only she could get the cash together, it's not an impossible goal. It would be a big physical place where you can just be yourself where they don't have to deal with things like school or Reverse Godhunters. Nothing seems to be set in stone but she is getting energised.

This is where she messed up. Now I don't like posting whole logs here, but I really think this can not be put into my own words.

Akira just stared at her for a second.
"...Shizune, did you just ask me to move in with you?" There was a note of disbelief in his voice.

A moment passes

The oppressive sound of the wind can be heard.

Just a second ago, Shizune was there. The unskilled eye could come to the conclusion that she is, in fact, still there, still leaning slightly towards the center of the table, still with both hands joined after reacting to a sudden idea.
But she isn't. Only her body continues to exist there, frozen, unmoving, unresponsive.
Her mind, nay, her soul had just been consumed, completely overwhelmend by sheer awkwardness, and all that remains is an organic statue in the likeness of Mitsuki Shizune, a grim reminder of the fact that she can, too, say impulsive and poorly thought-out things.

By some sort of thaumaturgy beyond mortal ken, she comes back to life and sits down properly, and starts eating her curry after saying "The curry is going to go cold" but for some reason, seems like she her neck is irreparably positioned in such a way that she cannot see anything but the table and the contents in it, much less be able to look at her companion.

>TFW you fuck up so bad that all you can do to cope is stare into your food
>>
>>56649812
For a second, Akira said nothing, but then, he broke into uncontrollable laughter.
"Hahahahahaha, hahahahahaha! Shi-shi-shizu-nee, I'm so sohohohorry, I just can't, I can't..." he couldn't finish the sentence, consumed by the sheer hilarity of the situation. "I-I didn't know you were interested in me that way," he said, eventually, his body still shaking with barely-contained laughter, his eyes glinting with mischief. "If you wanted to do things that way, why didn't you just say so?"

There's many things that Shizune could say right now.
"No, that's not it"
"This is a misunderstanding"
"That came out wrong"
And so on.

But, as it turns out, she had blocked her sight, hearing, tact, and even her supernatural sense. Right now, she was functioning strictly on taste and smell, because the curry ended up being that damn good.
Enduring the mockery of her underclassman, she limits herself at enjoying her meal, until she finishes

"Thanks for the food. Thanks for inviting me here, Akira-kun. See you tomorrow" she says, mechanically, after finishing, and leaves. Her face is seen now, and it's the face of someone who has given up. It has lost it's color and even it's tri-dimensional depth, looking more like a middle-schooler's doodle.
Hopefully, she'll be more able to communicate later.

I don't think i'll be posting many more logs but today I make an exception. I would also like to thank everyone who has been keeping up and baring with me. My sleeping habits are strange and I have a really hard time buttoning down and getting stuff done.

I'll look to get the next part of storytime going in the next thread because it looks like we are hitting the bump limit.

>>

Actually I don't, though actually that might be a good place to look. I mainly use Gelbooru and Pixiv and man, I did not realise that you could tag "rating:safe". I was diving deep into the yaoi mines looking for art for the characters.

But yeah, Gelbooru. You tag on "Rating:safe" and then any of these tags like "1girl" or "1boy" "white_background" really helps me out when im piecing my VN scenes together
>>

Jesus christ, you poor son of a bitch. Your players better appreciate that shit.
>>
>>56649838
I guess I'll have to wait till next update to find out if Shizune is interested in Akira in that way or if she was just offering her friend to come share her big house because buddies and it would give Akira some room to be themself and explore themself.

Mostly we rib him for accidentally stealing portraits from Monster Girl Encyclopedia
>>
>>56649994
I almost did that once for a monster blacksmith i was using. I happened to find a kitsune one that wasn't from porn though.

Honestly, there ain't no shame in using the art. All else aside, the art is good.
>>
>>56650004
Nah it's good-natured joking. Since GM accidentally used Kiritsugu without realizing who it was we've made a game of guessing where he's borrowed his art assets from. Bonus points if he didn't know the source himself
>>
>>56649973
I think the worst was looking for pictures for Ito and finding a good orange haired delinquent, had shark teeth and everything, and I scroll down and theres a full blown yaoi doujinshi going on. Even if the art was good, I just couldn't use it any more.
>>
>>56650054
So wait, he's been using fate art this entire time, and he either wasn't aware of that or wasn't aware of who kiritsugu was?

Got anymore advice for players and GMs who don't know jack about Booru sites and Pixiv?

I've mostly used 4chan (/tg/, /w/, 3rd party archive sites, and recently a bit of /w/) google image and reverse image search to look for stuff.

Also just asking people for leads on certain kinds of things I'm looking for at the time.

I'm a complete noob at
booru type sites and don't have a Pixiv account.

So thank you for the tips any more advice you can give.
>>
>>56650087
No it's worse. I was using fate art of Kiritsugu for the first boss. Completely forgetting who he was when using the picture, despite the fact I had come out a FATE STAY NIGHT game and binge marathoned Zero to get me up to speed on Fate.

>>
>>56650119
Okay so you might want to use https://safebooru.org/ to start off with. Now lets say you wanted some character art. Lets make this simple.

White haired Kitsune witch

You only want one person in the image so we use the tag 1girl, then we want a kitsune so you can put in the word Kitsune, then you want white hair so you put in the tag White_hair and finally you want a witch so you put in witch.

You enter all these terms in the search bar and that should narrow your search down for that art.
>>
>>56650292
You'll probably want to search for something witch related (hat, broom) instead of just 'witch', but other than that, this is solid advice.

Pixiv is really easy, by the way, now that they've mostly swapped the interface to English. You can even enter simple english terms (fox, dragon, mecha) and have it automatically search for the english word OR the japanese translation.

If the auto-translate doesn't work, however, using google translate/a dictionary to grab the word for whatever you're looking for makes things go a lot more smoothly.
>>
>>56650292
Do you space the search terms out With
,
;
_
Or something else?
Does it use Boolean operators or it's own things.

Is what you are talking about how you accomplish using more than one tag at once for a search, or is this something similar but distinctly different?
>>
>>56650338
Well in the case of gelbooru, using the example I put out there you would type it like this

"1girl white_hair hat broom kitsune" just spaces
>>
>>56650338
Not kansainon, but I can answer that. You space 'em out with spaces, which is why you need _ for multi-word search terms like white_hair. (unless you're on Zerochan, which handles spaces in tags just fine).
>>
>>56650338
For each term, just put a space in the initial seach. _ makes it clear that its two parts of one tag.
>>
>>56650333
>>56650373
Also: It's a good idea, I've found, unless your search is something super obscure, to add 'original' (オリジナル on pixiv) to your search so you don't, say, end up buried in Megumins and Marisas if you're looking for a witch-hatted character pic.

If I want to exclude things to I just ass it to the search with a - on. The front?

Like if I want to search for navy crew or navy would making it

"Navy -kantai" of "navy crew -kantai" be the right way to narrow the search or is their a more reliable way?
>>
>>56650552
Yeah, something like that would work.

"Navy -Kantai_Collection" brings up a bunch of results on safebooru.
>>
>>56650562
It seems like stacking multiple related or similar exclusion terms improves the filtering
>>
>>56650603
well yeah, the more specific you get the better your results, usually. Of course there's a point where being too specific will lead you with nothing as well, so you need to be careful of that.
