The last time somebody got pieces of her body inside theirs they literally just became another Tomie. No. She is more like a fucked up uber-regenerative Hell Spawn that will eventually take over the entire world with her intense bitchiness.
>>

You will also grow an insatiable desire to kill her, and provided you aren't a level 20 wizard, should prove quite a challenge.

Basically the only way to have a relationship with Tomie is to be a robot because:
1. Robots wouldn't be driven to kill her
2. Robots are really hard to kill
>>

Calling Tomie a succubus is like calling a wolf a mouse.

I'm pretty sure it would happen to a guy too given enough biomass but otherwise you're correct, it was an organ donation. I don't think her vagina juices would tomiefy you, but you'd ultimately be the loser of the situation since you can't kill Tomie and you will be consumed by a great desire to kill her until you eventually die as well.
>>
>>55292209
I don't see why not.
>>
>>55292857
The tomification happened after they removed the kidney (that became another Tomie), so it didn't need many cells.
The ways Tomie comes back are different everytime and she works more like a plot device than a coherent entity, but judging by the rest of Junjii Itou bibliography, I'm under the impression that a man recieving a Tomie graft would have a Tomie growing inside of him, eventually killing him, but wouldn't get tomified. It doesn't fit the narrative very well IMO.

Oh god, what am I writing

He could destroy half the universe in one punch. And that's because the other half is behind him.

But he could serious sideways jumps to create heat enough to carbonize her.

Let's not forget that his power is "cannot be beaten under any circumstances"
>>
>>55298000
Oh yeah, I'm definitely saying he could beat her no matter what, but a basic non-serious punch wouldn't finish her off. I'd be more worried about all the poor souls that she could end up fucking over from the pieces that are flung so far away by the sheer impact of the punch and then the regeneration.

I think he made a manga revolving around two teens, a brother and a sister, who had sold their souls to Satan for power, and started to cause people to melt by being even remotely near them for any length of time.
>>
God, it's been years since I read all of Ito's work.

That man did some good shit. And he never explained a god damn thing, which was the best.
>>
>>55298495
If you haven't read it yet, you should read Fuan no Tane. It's very similar to Ito's style and somehow manages to be even scarier, even if it doesn't have Ito's lovingly detailed art.
>>
>>55298495
>And he never explained a god damn thing, which was the best.
I agree. I always feel empty after reading most horror stories because by the time the story ends the author has basically removed any sense of mystery from the person/monster/thing in question.
I vastly prefer Ito's sudden endings with an utter lack of any explanations over over-explanations that leave nothing left to wonder about.

>I'm Dona.
We were about an hour into the session but it was already getting tense. Her sudden voice spooked me a little.
>Oh, hello. You are Felicia's friend?
>Yes. Can I join you?
>Um, yeah. Go ahead and sit right there. Observe the game a bit so you—
>I think I'd like to join right away. I will play a priestess. Her name is Tomie.
>Fuck yeah! We needed one.
Said Stan enthusiastically, already a bit drunk. Stan was playing an excommunicated knight Torquevain

>Shit. You've got to heal me Dona, I'm at two health.
>I sit down by his character. "I will heal your wounds, but it shall cast you dearly."
>"Hit me sweetie. Maybe I can pay you later in a different, more romantic—"
>Uh um. Behave Stan.
Stan's phone rang. He went outside to take it and returned some five minutes later.
>I got to go. Girlfriend's upset or something.
>I think you need to sit down and play.
Dona looked dead serious saying this. I really didn't know what to say, even drunk Stan was visibly confused.
>Yeah I think I'm gonna go.
>I channel dark energy to break Torquevain's arm.
She took some dice and threw them.
When the dice hit the table, we heard a chilling sound of bone cracking at the door. Stan shrieked in agony. His arm was in pieces.
On the table the three d10 dice she threw all displayed a ten.
>Sit down. I put you back together, I can dismantlement you just as easily.

We played out the session in terror. Every time Torquevain suffered a hit, the wounds would open up on Stan's body.

The session came to an end.
>I had a wonderful time. Let's play again soon.
She said this with a sinister grin on her face and left.

The police found an eviscerated body tossed in a ditch near my house.
Felicia confirmed it was Dona.
It was not who sat at our table that night.
It was not whom I fell in love with.

For those that want to initiate kids to horror comics, Mort de Trouille/Scared to Death are very good stories for that. I do't know if cinebook has published the latter issues yet.

>>55299381
Same here, I feel like most stories are only a prologue of some kind.
The ghosts in that book aren't very evil most of the time, too. I think my favorite one with Maya is the sickle-armed zombie that says "oops, wrong house, sorry", and leaves. It's mischief rather than unfathomable horror.

Death Star Remina aside, the protags in his manga don't show a willingness to tackle the problem.

D4C could also theoretically work, IF Funny could somehow drag the Tomie into another world before she splits and get her to touch her double, or could do so to all the Tomies.

GER could also potentially keep her completely stunlocked/dieing for eternity, but that's a solid maybe.

Also, we have not idea how Tusk Act 4's Gravity Curse could potentially interact with Tomie either

Also, TWOH could work, but that shit ain't canon and is also retarded.

However, the most important question of them all is: What would happen if Notorious B.I.G. ate Tomie?
>>
>>55302889
>What would happen if Notorious B.I.G. ate Tomie?
Tomie isn't a Stand or an User, so she shouldn't be able to absorb a Stand like B.I.G
>>
>>55299390
>It's Junji Ito earth so they are 100% justified

>>
>>55299526
The biggest pile of random shit he has done yet.
>>
>>55302889
Yeah TWOH could almost certainly defeat Tomie but it's not canon.

I believe that Soft & Wet could probably defeat Tomie due to it's ability to steal the properties of things its bubbles touch. There's no explicit reason why Soft & Wet can't declare "your molecular cohesion" and destroy her at a sub-cellular level.

Vitamin C could probably beat her too, since regeneration doesn't mean anything when every atom of your being is more fragile than a soap bubble. It probably wouldn't be enough to finish her off though.

You can also use Baby Face to turn her into a chair or something

It is drawn by Junji Itou, but it was before he drew Uzumaki. This is some kind of lovecraftian horror girl that can regenerate completely from a single drop of blood and mesmerize men to do her bidding.

>>
>>55298428
Shocker. Horror writer that can't do endings to save his life is a fag, go figure.
>>
>>55299649
Simple answer is you don't - her existence is implied to be more sci fi than fantastic, as in one chapter a scientist attempts to destroy her with a radiation machine, but it only regenerates her faster, suggesting that her regenaration is fueled by radiation - which incidentally makes it so nukes would be kind of useless against a full tomie infestation unless you absolutely knew it would totally incinerate them all.

However, if you do want to make her a daemon prince, I suggest making her Tzeentchian rather than the obvious Slaaneshi because she basically exists only to screw people's lives over - Tomie never makes people happy or pleasurable, aside from posisbly turning them into another Tomie depending on how the story goes.
>>
>>55304453
Little finger I believe.

Tomies pretty messed up but I kind of blame it on her powers and that whole "everyone wants to kill her" thing.

Redemption is a thing, but would take some work
>>
>>55304509
>Tomies pretty messed up but I kind of blame it on her powers and that whole "everyone wants to kill her" thing.
I doubt it. Every time a Tomie forms she's a bitch, and to say the least Junji Ito isn't the type of horror writer to create a "tragic villain," he even turns impartial forces pure evil, like the gas from Gyo, which is revealed to actually be demons in the circus chapter.
>>
>>55304558
that circus chapter was off the fucking rails, junji ito is a complete madman
>>
>>55304558
Oh she would still be evil, but you could kind of go from "vile" to "evil"

Plus she's trying to fit in at least a little, as she has a manipulative personality. So it's not like she's going to attack everyone, as the infighting of a planet of tomies would be horrible for her.

I'm sure mr. Johnson her neighbor could talk to her normally as long as he has nothing she wants. So really long distance relationship is really the only option.

She wasn't really a villain at first. The original Tomie was just a spooky girl who got brutally gang-murdered by her classmates and then came back to school anyway.
>>
>>55304509
What you would need would be some way to completely destroy her Insanity Field, pr at least supress it, followed by a combination of extensive years, possibly decades, of psychological counseling, during which she needs to have her powers supressed completely.

In other words, only a God or sufficiently powerful wizard could even attempt at starting to fix her.
>>
>>55304685
I'm especially hyped, because Kojima wants to work on it, and has no money issues.

Del toro has always wanted to do a video game.

>>
>>55304618
She knows that her mere presence is going to cause chaos, pain and death. She purposefully exposes people to herself for lulz, and to get shit she wants, at no point showing empathy or remorse towards others. Or, for that matter, even herself - Tomies frequently try to kill each other, either by proxy or in person when there's no threat of retaliation.

If its possible for there to be a 'good' Tomie, it is, by definition, a Tomie nobody will ever see.

Sorta both. She drives people ot insanity and they start harming her, but she's also spitefully neglectful and emotionally abusive towards them, and if you reject HER, she becomes the yandere trying to murder you.

>>
>>55304752
>>55304763
She's also evil in a petty human way - in one chapter she kills and replaces a rich man's daughter just because she wants the money.
>>
>>55304657
You probably could, but it would be an exercise in futility, as she has probably hundreds of copies of her running around (since every piece of her will eventually regenerate into a new Tomie; I'm pretty sure the effect that compels people to try and kill her exists to facilitate her "reproduction" by getting people to dismember her. Intrestingly all Tomies seem to really hate each other and go out of their way to eliminate any other copies they encounter).

If we're talking about magic, we have stuff like turn into stone, wall of force, or just different planes, like ethereal or astral. So, technically, perfectly solid and permanent encasement is possibly.

If we're on a sci-fi setting, then tossing her into the sun is another option.
>>
>>55304879
>all Tomies seem to really hate each other and go out of their way to eliminate any other copies they encounter
This is correct. It's probably the only reason that Tomie hasn't completely consumed the world yet, given her hundreds of ways to "reproduce," from simple regeneration, to turning people into new Tomies, to infecting people with her as a parasitic growth...

"Inspired" is the key word but having a disturbing abnormal type kei-Joshi harem of monsters would be fun.

I find the harem genre insipid and derivative, but that'd be better than the usual mould at least. It'd be best if it had an ending true to its inspiration though because I'd love to see the endless tears of all the self-insert fags crying that their glorified fantasy designed to sell merchandise ended in such a way.

You know what abnormal kei-Joshi is right? It's a dude with a harem of Yanderes. One that spies on him, one that thinks he's her lord reborn, one that might be a vampire or have a blood-fetish, one that is a serial killer, etc.

It's pretty solid for a genre that's horrible

But anyways the thing we where talking about would have to end ok. Too bad and it's not a harem manga, too good and it's generic. Probably have his harem fight unknown to him and have him end up with the survivor unaware of what happened to the others.

Or have one of them consume the others resulting in his entire harem having one body, which could cause all kinds of problems.

Stuff like that

>>
>>55306949
>>55302660
Overall KQ is the best hard counter against Tomie, but there's a number of other Stands that could handle her as well.

Tusk IV could probably CONTAIN her but not destroy her, Ball Breaker could probably age her to dust as well just like Grateful dead. Scary Monsters probably wouldn't have an effect due to her mastery of her own biology. Meanwhile some of the most powerful villain stands would be kind of useless against her, like King Crimson or The World.
>>

Magicians red is the winner though, as it is the weakest stand that can take tomie out.

Now that I think about it, what about a pillar man, they can break down people at a celular level and ultumate life form Kara can use Hamon with surface of the sun level heat.
anyways, white record might under the right conditions kill all cells with ice, purple haze, Anubis will take controll, paisley park can do just about anything, speed LNG melted the wax but that's just a side effect, enigma boy can just turn her into paper and heavy weather will have some interesting effects. Metallica could if given time but I don't think green day could do it unless dropped from a really high place.
And that stand that's brain gets turned into a frog, not likely unless the acid it spills is strong enough.
What would happen if white snake took her brain disc? Would she regenerat from it or decay and regen from that?

I think basic Pillar Men would inevitably regret trying to absorb Tomie's cells - especially as the only absolutely perfect way to kill her is to COMPLETELY carbonate or destroy her. it could simply end up resulting in the pillar man being Tomie'd, god help us if she'd retain her host's powers. Ultra Kars however, due to his own mastery of his biology, would win out against her.

As for White Snake, I'm unsure. I know Whitesnake is able to remove people's Memories and Stand, which according to Dio's Journal are the parts that constitute a Soul. I'd imagine if Whitesnake did take her discs, she'd just end up being comatose, but I'm unsure if her Regeneration would be taken in the Stand Disc or not, or if her parts can regenerate into non-comatose

The problem is that Japanese people really are as passive and non-proactive as most mangas depict them. The nail that sticks out gets hammered down, is such a staple of their mindset that most of them are too afraid to do anything proactive because there's this cultural stigma against looking for trouble or getting involved with things that "aren't your business"

Its part of the reason why many of these stories aren't popular in the West, especially the US, since the West tend to have a sultural mindset of taking charge of your life, manifest destiny, and the "I think I can, I think I can" mentality. To Westerners, Carpe Diem is one of the major keys to success, and we're constantly told in our various forms of media that success in life come to those who who take the initiative and are proactive in seeking success

And knives, I guess.

We combined one awesome thing from Japan with another awesome thing from Japan.

I don't know what I expected, but the slow spiral into madness was the only logical outcome.
>>
>>55308615
The West has it's own version of this trope in the "oblivious to the blatant supernatural phenomena going on character". It's actually a nice way of seeing cultural differences: in the East it's people's complacency and adherence to social protocol that gets them into trouble, in the West it's their obliviousness and stupidity that puts them into danger.

i dont even fully understand what gold experience requiem does but im still pretty sure it could beat tomie

also what would happen if silver chariot requiem made her swap bodies with someone else?
>>
>>55309630
Following Ito Logic, the person who gets' Tomie's body would have their identity slowly turn into Tomie's, while the body Tomie's soul goes into would end up transforming into Tomie's body.

>GER
Fucked if I know, the last person who tried to explain it to me said it denied someone their destiny or something. Maybe it can stop her regeneration like this?

>Silver Chariot Requiem
>swap a Tomie with some rando off the street
>now there is a Tomie who is completely alone in her head
>probably not as pretty as old Tomie
>either goes batty and kills herself or slowly becomes another Tomie due to supernatural bullshit

>Fucked if I know, the last person who tried to explain it to me said it denied someone their destiny or something.
Its prety simple really. Take and object, and imagine that object having the capability of Cause and Effect. GER punches the object, and it loses ts ability to have Effect, meaning everything it does always gets reduced to Zero.

Take when GER activates on King Crimson. KC tried to Erase Time as per its ability, but this Effect was reduced to Zero, meaning the World of Erased Time created by KC was reversed back to Zero (hence why it looked like Time went backwards, because reality was rewritten so that KC activating never happened, so the World of Erased Time created by KC never happened)

Then, when GER kills you, it locks you into that Cause and Effect of your death, meaning you're forever trapped in the Cause (getting killed) but you never suffer the effect (dying) and it keeps resetting so you keep suffering the pain of death without dying over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over

Jesus Christ. Yeah, that would do it. Ito vs. Araki is a match I want to see.
>>
>>55310386
>Ito vs. Araki
A bit of a lopsided match, as Araki is obviously some kind of Malkavian

Much like how Gackt is obviously a Troubadour. Not sure what vampire clan Keanu Reeves is in though, or if he even is a vampire
>>
>>55310386
I am pretty sure Ito would have no chance, he is just a normal guy that likes to write weird shit while Araki is some sort of immortal or vampire.

People who are hardcore into H.P. Lovecraft tend to say that his best story is 'Colour Out of Space'. It doesn't involve a big, strange monster, or a colorful, history-spanning mythology; it's a dirt-simple story. Shooting star lands in a farmhouse's well. Scientist comes to visit, does tests, but the family doesn't think much of it. Later, they get sick, crazy-weird sick, somewhere between radiation poisoning and disintegration. Scientist shows up just in time to watch them be destroyed, and the thing in the well fly back into space. He then says that perhaps this stretch of land being under a proposed dammed reservoir wouldn't be the greatest idea.
Seems like a lot of Japanese horror - Junji Ito in particular - works on this level. The horror is just plain weird; you can perceive it, but can't really explain or understand it; there's often no real attempt to interact with it; in the end, there's just the devastation left behind.

Speaking as a CoC GM, i don't think it would be a problem to adapt Ito into the system at all. The sanity stat works wonders for stories like this

I really didn't like it, they didn't do a particularly good job at giving sufficient motivation to the vampires to make them anything above castlevania tier moustache twirlers.

"We kill people even though we can get blood without killing because we're better than all of you, is that so wrong?" Just asks for a peasant rebellion
>>
>>55311028
They undermine their own logic when you bring the special snowflakes that were "werewolves" into the picture. But I guess "We are vampires with none of the drawbacks" kind of does that.

Priest buying into it felt very forced, but I guess they needed his character to do something.

>Each story showcases various characters that encounter Tomie in her many (often hideous) forms, with some having their own arcs or returning in later chapters. Tomie's regenerative abilities (partly fuelled by cannibalism) are also showcased: aside from recovering quickly from gruesome and seemingly mortal wounds, she can also replicate herself by sprouting unnaturally from any part of her body, whether it be from severed limbs, organs, or even her spilt blood. Radiation accelerates her healing/regeneration process. Her cells are also capable of transforming a victim into a Tomie via an organ transplant. Multiple characters are even driven to dismember her corpse, unwittingly allowing more Tomie copies to grow and spread throughout the world. Even locks of her hair are dangerous; burrowing into its victim's brain to possess them, and eventually kill them when it grows wildly within the body. It is also shown that even if Tomie's body is not injured, her body will attempt to sprout another Tomie through tumorous growths, usually when she is emotionally stressed.
If something like Tomie existed, wouldn't it be relatively well known? Why would the first encounter with such a thing be with some japanese highschool students?
>>
>>55313264
It'd be a urban legend more than anything, unless someone gets a video of it
>>
>>55313264
Why would aliens land in a rock quarry outside of London?
>>
>>55313388
>>55313416
It's that whatever physical rules that Tomie operates under would be known in a world where it can exist. There'd be self regenerating bacteria or some kind of plant or animal in nature that uses the same phenomena. The first instance of "the thing" isn't going to be a japanese highschool girl who kills people in weird ways.
>>
>>55313520
The science community misses things all the time.

And they are sure to disregard things like "bacteria that creates matter" and maybe her powers come from a pseudo natural source.

But yea, someone knows about it

I'd say The Sun is even weaker and just as capable of burning her. I don't know how anything about how she behaves though, if she'd attack the user, try to run, or just stand there and take it.
>>
>>55314069
Doesn't radiation heal her?

Isn't the sun a large radiation ball?

She's also at least half as smart as jotero, so she'd probably get him before he gets her.

Magician's Red can obviously take her

Yellow Temperance I'd say has a good shot - since it's a psychic manifestation I don't think it can be counter-assimilated, but even if it can it's fireproof and can be used to immobilize and burn her in the meantime.

Justice possesses gaseously, I think it can take her.

I wouldn't say The Sun would heal her since I don't think it's literally carrying out nuclear fusion. Plus lasers.

Anubis possesses psychically.

Sethan might be able to deage the Tomie right out of someone she took over.

I can't think of any reason she'd agree to stake herself against either D'Arby.

Doubt she's smart enough to defeat Cream.

The Hand can erase her too.

Heaven's Door wins because of course it does.

Red Hot Chili Pepper fries her.

Surface could be used to make her burn herself.

Pearl Jam ????????

Atom Heart Father might lock her down if she's too dumb to pull the camera move.

Enigma gets her... Is she afraid of anything?

Killer Queen of course gets her.

GER of course gets her.

Sticky Fingers can probably drop her in a null space.

Could Black Sabbath be an autokill? Or makes her even worse.

Purple Haze may or may not work.

Grateful Dead does it.

Man in the Mirror can neutralize her.

Metallica and Green Day are tossups.

Heavy Weather: ???????

Whitessnake might stop her.

Made in Heaven could get her into a situation where she burns to death nigh-instantaneously.

Green Green Grass of Home could obliterate her.

Underworld could get her burned.

Tusk and Ball Breaker got it. D4C got it.

Boku no Rhythm might but it's way less of a sure thing than Killer Queen.

Civil War might work if she has guilt. Does she?

Sugar Mountain could best her.

Chocolate Disco will beat her if he goes for fire.

Speed King probably has tricks.

Blue Hawaii and Brain Storm both MIGHT do it.
