Granted I spent 17 hours playing total war and i still cant fuckin run a actual battle so whatever

Yeah its pretty fun if you dig the universe and LOVE void combat, then again ive got over 600 hours combined of total war gameplay

I only got warhammer two days ago, i wish i sucked less at it, id probbably have even more fun if i didnt have to play it like Civ and hit auto resolve each time.

Flimflam the Warham is by far the worst Total war so far, Shogun two or Rome 2 with Radious are the best newer gen games, mind you it took them 2 years to get Rome in a playable state

(Ogryn thread not bothering linking the last post this time as its all up to date.)

You sit in da big table, given your expert negotiatin skills and given you krumped plenty of chaos and orks in your time, you were sent as a um...taktikul advisor. Ya got to take Fifteehate too cause she never got to go to a big meetin like dis before and it be educashul. Rockchewa is dere as well, da ork's swallowing entire ration cans with a grin. "Dis some good dirt mate, ya gotta try dat."

Fifteehate tilts her head a little in dat way she does when disgusted. "That ration is supposed to be soup."

You look at da room, ya see one of da catachans, lookin awfully glum ova der, dere is this red girl in da fancy arm... oh its one of dem sisters. Boo. Da girl caught your mean look an is, okay dat was a better mean look you oughta stop.

You wave at Rusty, da engiseer turned retinue memba lookin rather sheepish for a man with no face and sitting next to him Thirteeun look like someone stole his freeze cream, fingers twitching on the desk.

Also dere is da burny man, the commissah whispering to his blind companion who stifles a laugh.

Den da Colonel walks in, der black armor visible through a great cloak that is mostly hole in da front, the krieger staring at the retinue.

"Review, all members accounted for?" The colonel intoned as da burny boy nodded.

"Yup, all tidy in a box."

"Good." The Iniquisisah walks into the tent, da gassy mask strapped to her hip and her greatcoat torned for da metal arm, the Inquisitorial rosette inlaid on da shoulderpad. "Apologies for the deception, I don't make my position known until its actually relevant." The inquisisah frowned. "Which it now is. Aerugo, picture 38 please."
>>
>>51607493
Rusty nodded as da table shimmered, a picture of a giant ork visible, covered in minor bullet holes and a bloody seeping eye. "This is Kaptain Bullettoof as our servos last spotted, as of the two days from acquiring the axe he has now grown a meter aller then before and now is bigger then a dreadnought. You frown as you point to its purply pistol. "Dats da mean git's gun, why he got it."

"Plucked dat from da pointy pansies." Rockchewa said, ration can crumpling between his teef. "Plucked it straight from the skivvy we rescued dat guv from."

"What I am concerned about is not the pistol it is the axe." The Inquisisah pointed to the bleeding axe drenching the floor. "Sister Mavile what have you discovered."

The woman coughed in her her helmet before reading a data slate. "Unfortunately the Order Pronatus stationed here were the first to go during the Govenor's fall during this place but a recovered slate pieces some of the things together." The woman touched the table, an da axe in da picture got bigger.

"That axe was recovered in a space hulk dating to the horus heresy. The spacemarines who recovered the artifact were unable to destroy it with melta fire and so transported the axe alongside several purity seals in order to transfer it to someone more capable of destroying it." The sister looked up. "Guessing that referred to the inquisition."

The Inquissah swore. "That treacherous swine must have never sent the order, we never got any reports of the axes presence. That doesnt explain why the axe didnt show up during the actual war."

Yo shrugged. "Its a big axe, dey probbably can't lift it." The others turned to you. "Wha? Whenever I fought chaos only da real special ones got to use da creepy stuff, any time da smaller heretics picked it up dey got eaten."

The sister nodded. "The abhuman is correct, during our cleansing of the false idols the symbols predominately found were of the prince of excess. The axe appears khornate."
>>
/creativewriting/ board when? Last thing we need is you lot becoming the new quests.
>>
>>51607653
"Correction," Fifteehate pipes up. "Unit is named Thudd, not abhuman."

The sister tilted her head. "You named it after a gun?"

"Anyway."The Inquissisah interrupts. "That explains why the accursed thing is there, but what can we do about it."

"My sisters say that reinforcements are to arrive within two days." The blind man says, fingas clutchin a fancy staff. "It is advised that so long as their ship is not operational we must merely survive."

Thirteeun clicked, rebreather rasping. "Your witch friends don't know whats in that vault, if he cracks that safe anymore he'll probbably have access to a ship. Presuming that axe doesnt start giving him wings or other abberations."

The Inquisah sighed. "Corporol Harmond you fought it, whats the chances of taking it down?"

Harmond frowned. "It litterally swatted away our las guns, the only thing that hurt hit was Misty's bayonet. Id just go with artillery."

Fifteehate looked at the knife wounds on the orks face. "Inquiry, you said Misty?" The krieger pointed to a cut. "Those are Guilt pattern, why does a Devil have a krieg knife."

Harmond sighed. "Girl was a grenadier, long story. The point is that ork just got stronger the longer it went."

"Silly umies, orks get big when dey win fights."

"And so do khorne's champions." The inquisisah muttered. "If we take to long we may end up dealing with a full daemon incursion here."

>>
>>51611108
First off, You are. You're.

But he's right, >>51609438 , I've had an idea that I want to write. But it's not Mimikyu's fault.

Heck, they're making me WANT to post my story.

My only problem is I drive a Semi as part of a team for a living. My chances to do write are... Slim.

Now admittedly, that's me; buy I think it's a little juvenile to think "Oh no, this guy's telling a really good story! Better not interrupt it with my shitty one." As that's the only reason I can see not to contribute.

But that's just my opinion.
>>
>>51611515
As voidanon once brought up, thats what the post quotes are for. It keeps messhed stories from getting jumbled looking.

Plus if it helps I have consistently only posted at around... I'll say 3 AM my time. So if you want to avoid messing any story I posted you can just wait for the morning or afternoon and post then.
>>
>>51611515
It' was just a thought, I've more or less given up on these threads anyway.
>>
>>51611726

Please don't give up on the thread anon, and please don't take out whatever frustrations I may have caused you on other writers. I know I've been abysmal about updating recently, and I understand that this may have caused some anons to give up on me and whatever hopes they had of a conclusion to the story. And I don't blame anyone who has given up on love and krieg, but it does make me sad, because it means I have failed to uphold my end of things. So I'm asking you to please not give up, and I'm going to make you a promise.I can't update right this second, but I will update tonight before I go to bed if I have to stay up till two in the morning to do it, and I will return to daily updates, and that is a promise.
>>
>>51612864
You live. Good to see. Been wondering what was up. Do your best (as always), just try to give us something, maybe a "I'm still alive guys" post every few days? At least a few of us have been losing hope of seeing you or Proctor ever again.
>>
>>51613552
Proctor was around a few days ago though he even posted one of the threads.
>>
>>51612864
Hey, don't let him get to you. You do you. I'd rather you take forever to do something you're happy with, than to slap-dash something you'll regret later. (I've done that before)

>>
>>51609143
...What the hell does that mean?

No seriously, its a thread. It ends when it hits 310 posts so a new one is made.

There is no user input and "Write faggotry on 40k" preceedes me by several years.

Do you go on general threads and go "Hey Pathfinder your getting awfully questy here?"

Like as a guy who actually RUNS a quest no, this is nothing like a quest.

Quests dont even spam that much in a individual level, they only got spammy because everyone and their autistic dog made one.

Until you see a shit ton of 40k story threads I don't get the dig.

>>
>>51614811
What I meant was that your writing with the present tense and first-person perspective and the whole rolling up a order of the Sisters of battle it was heading in the direction of becoming more of a quest than a regular story.

But disregard me, people like your stuff and I'm just an asshole complaining.
>>
>>51615487
Oh okay no I can see that, I do most of my writing in actual quests so you arent wrong in that my stuff reads like that.

Though "Roll a regiment" threads existed before, I was just hoping that we can do those to fill time between stories.

As stated before I can cut down my actual posting if people wanted. I keep the pace mostly to keep a record (And hopefully giving people something to talk about) and if people want the threads to last longer I can stop eating up that space and space my updates up a bit.
>>
>>51615582
Well, don't cut it down just because of me, like I said I'm just an asshole complaining and you are helping to keep these thread alive.
>>
>>51607331
But that dwarf trailer was so cool...

>>51615632
Well its not like your the only one who complained.

Planefag (formerly Demetrious) is a quest runner, known for taking cute amine girl shows and turning them on their heads. His current quest, Kan-Colle quest, which was about a trumped up Cap. Turned ship-boy summoner, last run about Jan 12th. Before that? June of last year. But he's also the guy who popularized 'bouncing' in /tg/'s vocabulary, had the MC of his current quest fight off Yakuza with a cane sword he didn't know he had (but that the players had guessed about), and managed to 'make' a P-61 land on a carrier. In a storm. Spacebattles has his current quest transcribed somewhere

One Day: pastebin.com/embed_js/64EeM2WG

As his vision began to fade Theta could make out dozens of red beams stabbing into his attacker but they had no effect “Must be combat chems,” Theta calmly thought to himself. He stopped struggling, he only hoped the Emperor would accept his sacrifice and forgive him, for everything.

The arm seemed to grow weaker, Theta opened his eyes to discover it was dissolving. It looked like white ashes coated the arm at first, but then they spread and lit on fire. Fire that produced no heat. Theta used his legs to push himself away and the burning arm came with him. From the ground he watched the marked one run around the trench, his comrades fleeing from him as if he were diseased. The armless man, now covered in white patches and flames, fell to his knees. After what seemed an eternity he imploded and there only remained a pile of ash. The noises of fighting died down. Muffled breathing filled the trench, the survivors stood in a ring around the ashes.

+Missed me?+

He almost did not mind hearing the voice, the voice he only heard. She was standing among a squad of grenadiers who shifted uneasily beside her. She gestured towards them. “They destroyed the stubber nests but they won’t admit that I helped. You're a real gentleman compared to them.”

“Danke frau psyker.” Theta tried to convince himself that he did not mean it. That not enough oxygen was going to his brain. The survivors behind Theta halfheartedly mumbled their thanks, they were still transfixed by the pile of ashes.

The support wave arrived and engineers began repairing the trench. Quartermasters sorted through the fallen, separating the living and dead. The Captain hopped in the trench and began issuing orders. He spotted Theta.

“Where is your squad corporal?”

“They are being looked for, sir.”

“Don’t stand there with your Gattin then.” He began to walk away but turned to face Theta again. “Disgusting behavior.”
>>
>>51620878
Ah kriegers, the classic dicks.
>>
>>51620878
The Witch started cackling. A real ghastly sight, Theta thought. In the dark her face was all teeth and gleaming green eyes. Her dark hair was loose and it flowed over her grimy coat. The wires were easy to see.

“I will escort the little corporal to his squad. Don’t worry, I won’t distract him.” She would not stop laughing.

Theta really wanted to whip someone, it was a shame Private Beta was gone. The Witch took his hand and escorted him down the trench. Engineers were excavating fallen dugouts and the quartermasters were laying the wounded out on canvas sheets. Other sheets were occupied by exhausted guardsmen who staggered to them and collapsed. Others simply lay in the dirt. Theta saw little difference between them and the bodies.

+The Captain thinks we are lovers.+ Theta risked a glance and saw that her face was nearly shoved against his mask. +Such a dirty mind, he imagines us rutting in your cot like animals while all the others sleep. He has no way to prove it. That's why it keeps him up at night.+ The corporal was nauseated. He changed the subject.

“There will be a counter-attack. The probability of survival is very slow.” Several masked faces in the trench turned to Theta, wondering why he was talking to himself. The Witch made a face at him.

+This is why you see things every morning. Being in a regiment that has “Death Korps” in its title is not good for the nerves apparently.+

“Give me a status update on my watchmaster,” Theta was hissing at her, “How is the rest of my squad?”

She suddenly became serious. +Watchmaster Phaesta is in a nearby dugout and he’s not doing very well.+

“Wounded?”

+A mental breakdown is a more accurate description+

In that moment Theta finally realized why drinking was the favored pastime of the Imperial Guard. He was taught that every problem could be solved if enough force was applied. They never mentioned any of this nonsense happening.
>>
Looks like shippery is starting to happen.

Who knew that Theta was turned on by dissolving men.

(This is the waifu thread, as is tradition)

The sergeant woke up with a groan and pain everywhere. "Ugh fuckin hell."

"Profanity in the emperor's place of holy healing breaks rule XLV-VII of the Lectitio Divinitatus and requires a tithe of 3 thrones to the Ministorum." The resident sister hospitaller said moving a jar to the sick man's bed without even glancing up from her holy documents.

"I am not going to pay any fu-bleedin tithe." The Sergeant said, hastily correcting himself as the lady placed a chainknife on the table next to the jar. Richand tried to put a hand on his temple to nurse his aching headache only to remember that he doesnt have one anymore.

Blinking through the haze of pain most of the past day came back to him, the Misty's stupid bush armor, the vault, that fuckin (he can swear in his thoughts) ork and his crazy axe. Now he is missing his arm and his side is cold... wait why is his side cold?

Richand ripped his blanket as he leaped backwards with a curse. "Fucking warp!" The sergeant said staring at the stiff form of a familiar lunatic lying right next to him, Misty decked in a full armor kit because of course she was.

"Nine thrones." The hospitaller said not looking up. "I see you met your bed mate. Your squad mate insisted that for moral purposes that the two of you would heal quicker if you slept together."

Richand sputtered as Misty sat up. "Greetings sir, I see the treatment has been as swift as Mary predicted."

Richand glared at the sister, who refused to dignify the glare with actually looking up from the book before turning back to Misty. "What, perchance did Mary tell you."

The krieger nodded, giving a salute. "Sir, the theory proposed was that as blood flows quicker through warmth, body contact will increase the flow of oxygen and thus ensure enhanced medical progress. This theory was confirmed by Corporal Harmond and as the leading officer at the time and put in place by Sister Agotha of the Order Hospitaller.
>>
>>51620953
I've actually been keeping the dickery pretty mild so far. Dead Men Walking is where the best examples of dickery are.

Governor Hanrik did nothing wrong
>>
>>51623699
Richand gave the Hospitaller his best glare, the kind that made bloodletters turn and run. The Hospitaller, a aging woman in brown rags with glasses thick enough to block a lasbolt, stared back unimpressed. "Why" The sergeant questioned slowly lest to increase his debt. "Did you believe anything my squad mates told you."

"Well darling, it certainly did the trick, your girlfriend there woke up only a few hours prior and recovered from her surgery remarkably quickly. In fact I have never seen a Kriegling quite as lively as when she woke up, even the ones who aren't under medical attention.

"Yeah I bet she was." Richand muttered as she noticed that, for once, the krieger was dressed rather sensibly, green fatigues covering her body rather then a greatcoat or bush, a vest to hold her rebreather and grenades was worn over that, shovel slung on her belt. Richand had to admit without the stupid greatcoat and other ridiculous nonsense she was almost kinda, in the right light maybe a little not entirely horrible to look at except not really because that was a stupid thought and he hated himself a little for having though tit. "Why are you dressed differently."

The krieger thought. "Unit was informed that for morale purposes soldiers in other regiments would be rewarded for being wounded in battle or successfully fulfilling orders. Nonsensical but to provide camaraderie unit has deigned to squad's suggestion of loadout redistribution as suitable reward." The kriger tilted her head. "Was the strategem effective, does my new clothes swell you morale."

The sergeant shoved a fistful of bills in the jar. "Here's a 100 thrones, I'm paying this tithe further."

At the end of the tirade the sergeant still owed a additional 16 thrones.

"Yeah yeah, good to see you. Glad to see you're on your feet again, and I'm fine thanks." The man said quickly. "There, now that the niceties are out of the way, about that card game."

"In case you haven't noticed Koenraad I'm in the hospital. I doubt they'll let me out for a game of cards" Rochas bantered back.

"Ah come on sarge" Gelen said. "It's not like you're bedridden any more. I'm sure you could get out for a night."

"Somehow I doubt that." Rochas replied and Gelen's face fell ever so slightly, his grin shrinking as the corners of his mouth pulled back down, and Rochas felt like a bit of a heel. Koenraad was just trying to be nice and include him after all. Even if it was pretty unlikely that the medical officers in charge of his treatment would allow it that didn't mean he needed to shoot the man down like that. "But that doesn't mean I can't ask." He said quickly, and was pleased to note Gelen light up a bit.

"Great" the man responded, and then he released Rochas and stood their expectantly.

Well now he needed to ask someone. An orderly wouldn't do, and he didn't see any of the doctors. The sergeant slid himself into his bed and then said to Gelen "Go and find the Medicae for me. He should be around here somewhere. Tell him I need to speak with him if he's not too busy."
>>
>>51626482

"Sure thing sarge" Gelen said, and then he quickly walked away, moving just barely shy of jogging. Once he was gone Rochas lay back on his cot to wait. He shot a glance over to Baiman's bed, but the one armed man wasn't there. Must have still been out eating or something. He'd have to try and get him included as well.

It took longer than he had expected it would for Gelen to return with the Medicae. Fortunately this meant that when he saw Gelen and the Medicae approaching he knew what he was going to say.

"Sir, Trooper Gelen says that you require me" the Krieger said as she stood by the side of his bed. "What is the nature of the problem?"

"It is an issue of moral" Rochas replied. He felt pretty bad about manipulating her like this, but he told himself it wasn't really a lie. Technically this was an issue of moral, his and Gelen's moral to be precise. "My presence is required at an activity necessary for the maintenance of moral. But, it takes place late in the evening, and continues well beyond the point in time I would normally be required to return here for the night. I need to be released temporarily to attend."

"Understood" She said. "Please produce the written copy of the order mandating the event and your presence there so that I may present it to the chief medical officer and have you released."

And now my promise is fulfilled, though it is less than I would have like to give, and it is nearly four in the morning and I have to be up and out the door before eight. So I really gotta go sleep now. See you all tomorrow.

Oh no as mentioned before I know my story isnt for everyone, especially since im a little goofy 40k.

Im just trying to figure out things for the daytime. The roll was fun but maybe thats a "Save it for another thread" thing? I also think only 3 people particerpated including me.
>>
Powers finally back, although the internet isn't. Luckily my phone can be hotspotted. Currently writing, shouldn't be too long.

>>51637873

Whatever keeps the thread from succumbing to page 10, and keeps people looking at it. So what if only three people rolled, it added a bit to the thread, and might have gotten some interest from others. Sure there is an abundance of lurkers who poke their heads in to read updates from time to time. Was what I was before I started writing. Just a silent observer who believes story time is best time.

Fair's fair though I'll be writing soon so the points moot for today.

Not even 24 hours after encountering them, the Kriegers had effectively ruined Immo’s life. She had been given two days ship leave, and she planned to make use of it. Dotted throughout the ship were places for wary voidsman to drown their worries, fears, and sorrows in an assortment of alcoholic drinks. Depending on the rank and how many thrones they were willing to part with, a voidsman could sample liquors from a hundred worlds, or rot their liver with an array of illicit distilled spirits brewed in the bowels of the ship. Immo was more a fan of the local flavor.

Downing her third glass with a shudder and a gasp, she set it back on the table gently, tilting it towards the servitor tending the bar. “‘Another.” Came a ragged demand. The servitor mutely inserted a tube into the glass, and filled it to the brim before beeping twice. “You have reached maximum tolerated intoxication.” She just snatched the glass and began draining it. It tasted like a mixture of promethium, plasma coolant, and rusted iron.
>>
>>51639338

“I’ll let you know when I’ve reach it, you bug eyed bucket of bolts.” It was a hollow claim, as the servitor just stumbled away to serve another patron. She was getting the odd glance from the handful of off shift crew, her footlocker resting at her feet. Being reassigned was either a blessing or a curse onboard, depending on what direct you were moving up the chain of command. Considering she was attempting to commit suicide via liver failure got the rumor mill going on what she did to get demoted.

She only listened partially to the stage whispers all around, more content to let the whirling maelstrom of thoughts in her head get subdued by enough Ol’ Eight Rings to fuel a boarding torpedo. She picked through the pieces that remained, pulling out the vital parts she needed. There was no way she could properly teach an entire regiment on her own in the art of zero gravity combat. Too many ins and outs, tips and tricks to turn into a training course. They didn’t even train the marines onboard. Either you already knew how, or were smart enough to learn on the fly. She had a feeling that improv wasn’t one of the Kriegers strong suits.

As she fished out a lho-stick and lit the paper on an exposed halogen bulb, she began putting together a plan. She was most familiar with small unit tactics, and that’s what she’d focus on. She’d pick out the best and brightest to train, who could then form their own crews to train, and so on down the line. This would both limit her interactions with the majority of the Kriegers, and give her a chance to find a group of Kriegers she found tolerable to be around all the time. She couldn’t help but laugh at that thought. A tolerable Krieger. She’d be more likely to find a laid back commissar.
>>
>>51639349

As she pushed away from the counter and headed back into the labyrinth of crew corridors, she began the first steps towards the cargobay. Still intent on her time off, she figured she could get some work done in the meantime. If she was going to find a group of Kriegers to trust enough to watch her back during boarding action, she’d have to get a feel for their personalities, or lack thereof. As she stumbled down the halls, savoring the unsteady reeling of her body as the alcohol played tricks on her, she felt her mind and body detach, once again trusting her feet to take her where she was needed as she recoiled into her own thoughts.

She unconsciously danced her way down the corridors, twirling past others in awkward stumbling gait, humming a few bars to a catchy little tune she heard the ratlings singing as they loaded her boarding torpedo into a macrocannon. She had passed a few dozen of them in her shambling gait, the grey jumpsuited crew quickly getting out of her way, not wanting to catch the eye of any superior officer. Many were children of the ship, who would be born, eventually breed, and finally die without ever feeling the pull of a planet’s gravity. They were the people of the ship. Some could trace their lineage back to the first crew, thousands and thousands of years ago.

The endless sprawl of maintenance corridors, forgotten chambers, network of pipes, and the thin space between the hull and the ship was their domain. They could be found everywhere you looked, their ship issued grey jumpsuits replacing the rags and tattered fabric they once were known for. They had been expected to work for nothing more than the air they breathed and the calories they consumed, their labors so basic even the most primitive feral worlder could be taught it in the span of a day. Or so it was thought.
>>
>>51639364

None knew the ship better. Not even the vaulted tech priests knew the full breadth of the ship. Hidden within it were hundreds of forgotten areas, built long ago by unknown hands, and never made mention in any record.

“Go Forth and Conquer” had a lustrous career long before the Captain came to acquire her, and hidden throughout her hull were treasures and traps, oddities and obscenities. Many a windfall during the earlier years had been found to assist fund the Captain’s personal crusade. More than one horror had been unleashed along the way as well. Some sections still bore the scars. As the gravity shifted by 45 degrees and Immo found herself walking along the walls, she found herself passing through one such wound.

Further and further into the ship she went, avoiding the inevitable as best she could. Each corridor told a story of some sort, some fresh in the crew’s memory, others forgotten to the sands of time, remembered only in fable and half formed legend. She found somewhere secluded, a little storage room stacked top to bottom with crates full of Emperor knows what. As she slumped against the crate, eyelids heavy from fatigue and alcohol, she took a moment to empty her mind and just listen to her ship.

The thrum of a miniature sun, the surge of water, waste, and stranger things, the steady rush of air. As alive as any creature, and infinitely more eternal, her soaring palace through the endless gulf of space. “I’m sure you’ve suffered worse fates than I and came out better for it.” She ran a hand along the bulkhead, the metal ever so slightly warm to the touch, a low vibration running through it.
>>
>>51639371

Nestled between a crate and the bulkhead, Immo pulled out a small blanket from her footlocker, more for comfort and privacy than any need for warmth, and curled up for some sleep. If she was truly needed, Kitbash could just awaken her dataslate’s machine spirit and find her with that. Until then, she just wanted a moment to rest and gather her thoughts. She could afford a lash or two if it meant she wasn’t dealing with the Kriegers half drunk and exhausted.

She dreamed of soaring through the void on wings of fire, the darkness recoiling in her passing, revealing a thousand fiery gems amongst the inky darkness. She reached up and grabbed one of them. It resisted as she pulled it free from the pitch black void. It was so warm. She pulled it to her breast, feeling the primordial flame held within as it flowed through her. Her slumber was abruptly broken by a pained roar.

“Wot da zog, madam!”

Oh no. Her eyes shot open, and she was staring up at an imposing green figure, hunching over with a massive meaty hand covering a bleeding stump on its oversized jaw. A pair of beady red eyes stared at her, one concealed partially behind a fine crystal and gold monocle. A heavy wooden pipe hung limply from between its craggy teeth, a small snake of smoke rising from it. She looked down at her hands. She was holding a tooth about five inches in length.

Looming over here was a very displeased looking ork, dressed in the finest of silks, cut flawlessly to fit his hulking frame. A masterfully embroidered handkerchief covered the bleeding hole in his mouth, and a massive cane was held threatening above his top hat bedecked brow. It crackled with an unseen energy field. “Gib back me toof, les ah crump ya like a black ‘arted git!”
>>
>>51639418

No one believed the crew when they said the Captain has tamed a group of orks who had somehow smuggled onboard the ship with his love of teas. No one believed he had found a group of orks who desired not more dakka, but more dappa. A group of top hatted, power caned wielding orks who would discuss philosophy, the arts, mathematics, or other esoteric ork kultur. Standing before her was the reason O level was sealed off every day at 1700. It was to give the orks their 5 o’clock WAAAGH without disturbing the crew.

Without thought, she opened her mouth, reached in, and roughly ripped out one of her finer teeth. The jolt of pain made her whimper as she did so, and she offered the gleaming sliver of worked stone to the ork. He looked at it carefully, adjusting his monocle slightly. “Trade you.”

“A toof fer toof, eh? Humies ain’ got gud teef, but dis’un looks awful flash…” He picked up the engraved tooth and examined it closely, while Immo pushed herself off the crates. While the ork was busy looking over his newest treasure, she made a quick get away, breaking out into a full sprint the moment she was out the door, her footlocker slamming into her back as she went.

Just another voidtale she'd tell, and only those in the know would believe her. She had to laugh around the stream of blood oozing out her mouth, threatening to choke her if she did not take time to spit. That was enough wandering the ship for today. Time to report for her duties. Yes, that sounded like a good idea.

Was a little stumped but heres a college try.

(Ogryn thread)

You hop off ya seat, the rest of the meeting milling about in various pairs, the Inquisah following afta the Captain, guess hes still miffed about bein lied ta, da catachan lady is talking to Rusty sometfin about "arm replacements" an your buddy Fifteehate is um... walkin... straight to da sista. Dat not good.

You grab Fifteehate dragging off the writhing infantry woman before dat boat ends in las shots.

"Unhinder infantry." Fifteehate protests. "Slights against senior officers have to be met with public lashings as according to edict III-II of the uplifting primier."

"Dey faithy types dey arent in da guard you point out, still dragging the girl."

"Then edict III-I assault against a military officer, execution." The krieger says as you keep dragging her.

"Den dat was da commissah, or da inquisitahs job, dey didnt shoot her so they didn do nuffin." That is how crime works, atleast dats how Ciggy plained it to you after he sold da commissah a ork toof he pried off da warboss da commissah shot back in one of da olda wars. Techshully ya aint supposed ta take xenos stuff even if it just da dead parts an you certainly aint supposed to sell stuff to da otta soliders. But da toof did look awfully nice hangin from dat bolt pistol, dey were like your... 3rd favorite commissah...

well second you suppose da inquisitah dun count.

"That's... technically accurate. Subjugation unnecessary... let go please." Fifteehate clarified as you let go, the krieger dropping to the floor, red lenses staring at the sky. "Unit should have predicted that. Noting for future altercations."

Fifteehate lifts herself up, meticulously dusting herself off for any grime. For a unit that lives in dirt so much kriegers did love bein clean, you never say da appeal yourself. "She still shouldn't have called you abhuman like you were a mutant. Legally speaking abhhumans are just different types of humans."
>>
>>51640676
You shrug. "Dun really care, you called me Ogryn when for a while."

The krieger looks off to the wall. "Did Unit? Unit does not recall."

"You did, you only stopped at da latrine when I told you dat."

"Un-unit has successfully recalled, thank you Krieg no further input is necessary." Fifteehates hands twitch slightly so dat means shes embarassed... which dun make sense... maybe cause she din remember as good as you can. Dat fair

You smile and pat her on da helmet. "anyway dun worry bout it, how bout we go get a proper grox leg." The krieger nods as you go out to requisition some proppa grub.

Along the way you catch da Inquusitah yelling at the Captain.

"Look let me get one thing straight first. I AM a Commissar, I just happened to have been awarded a rosette a few missions down the line. So no your platoon was NOT endangered by a inexperienced advisor." The inquisitah yelled at the captain. "Second I did not use rank before because I didn't think the vault was actually going to be open. My job was simply to ensure everything in the vault was still there at the end, and even if I DID think something was going wrong the fact we have a ork champion proves I was right so I have no reason to have to defend myself here."

The Captain turned around. "Unit integrity was compromised due to your deception. Farewell." Thirteun walked away... a little faster den a march, he's propa steamed.

The Inquisitah kicked a nearby sanitation containment unit, the flak can crushed under her foot. "Stupid 31 and their short range tactical insight." The inqusitah muttered.

"Dats sad." You comment on watchin da Inquisisah walk off. It just isnt right for buddies to break off like dat. "We should help?"

"...Unit does not have chronal transversal capabilities." Fifteehate commented on watching her captain walk off. "And even if she did she would do other things then fix a morale issue. Is this not where the deployment of your face wearer's 'leisure' comes into play?"
>>
>>51641029
You blink, if you recall leisure was krieger for fun. "No we jus do laysure cause its fun. Like eatin."

The krieger tilts her head. "Define fun."

You frown tryin to remember dat song da priests taught ya as a kid at learny rock. F is for fire dat burns da heretics, u is for unifying against da xenos sorcerors, and n was for the noble emperor. "Fun is when um, what do you do when no one has told you to do anything."

The krieger thought for a moment. "Fortify encampments in case of enemy attack."

You nod. "Ya dats it, ya play with da bags to make da walls and stuff. We get da boss and da otta boss to do that and they are sure to be buddies again."

The krieger looks outside thinking. "Observation. Eastern flank does look insufficiently fortified..." The krieger mused. "Unit supposes appeal can be brought before the superior officer."

You nod. "Dat right, good taktishul finkin dere." You smile as the krieger kicks the dirt a little, you suppose der must be a heretic bug on da floor.

Dis is a real good plan, it gunna definitely work better din da otta one.

"Oh. Oh crap" Rochas thought to himself. There was of course no such order, and this presented a problem. He had a choice to make. He could either come clean, or he could press forward with some grade A groxshite. A half formed lie was on his lips, but then he sighed and let it go.

Looking at her, standing there by the side of his cot all attentive and trusting, he just couldn't do it. He didn't want to lie to her. He valued their odd relationship - friendship?- too much for that, and somehow he just knew that if he lied to her and she found out there would be a Deamon's price to pay.

Rochas sighed again and then looked around and motioned the Medicae to come closer. When she leaned in he mirrored the gesture so that their heads were nearly touching, and then he spoke quietly in a low voice he knew wouldn't carry very far.

"I cannot produce such an order." The sergeant said softly to the masked woman. " It's an issue of my own moral, and of Gelen's and probably Eikenborn's as well. This isn't something a superior officer ordered, just something we planned in order to lift our own spirits."

There, the mutant was loose in the hive now, and all he could do is wait to see how she reacted. Rochas wished he could see her face. The lack of visual cue's meant he had no idea at all what she was thinking.

"Understood sir" She said after a moment. "That will make securing your temporary release from this facility more difficult, but if you believe it to be necessary I can attempt to do so."

"If you could I would be grateful" Rochas replied, somewhat stunned by her willingness to go along with his request. "But only if it doesn't inconvenience you."

The Krieger nodded her masked head, and then silently left. When she was gone Rochas looked over to where Gelen was standing watching him with a bemused expression on his face.

"So what was that all about?" Koenraad asked.

We warned Batavi that Shit like this would happen way back in the very first /fvgt/ thread. We also told him to ignore it and keep doing what he was doing. The fact that we've gotten this far is nothing short of a miracle. These guys assume we're a hugbox full of Tumblr writers who'll get butthurt just because he says we're having badwrongfun. (Waifu story)

Misty sniffed in her shared bed with the Sergeant, a dent in her helmet. "Physical discipline was unwarranted! Unit's precious uniform was sullied."

The sergeant snorted. "You'll live, I've had breakfest that hit harder then I whacked you.." The shirtless nco commented, handing the Hospitaller the rest of the thrones he owed. "Try following some common sense next time rather then your stupid dataslate or my stupid squad."

"Dataslates lack intelligence, stupid is a incorrect adjective." Misty stated as the sergeant flicked her helmet, the krieger doing her best to keep it on.

"Permission to enter?" Two voices intoned at the same time as the hospitaller looked up.

"Granted." Agotha nodded as Misty's sister 88a walked in.

"Greetings 88c." 88a nodded turning to the sergeant. "Inquiry, why are you sharing a bed with foreign element."

The sergeant raised a eyebrow. "Excuse me I am her sergeant not a foreign element... wait and I also don't want to be sharing this bed either. The sister insisted."

"He annoys me and I enjoy his unhappiness." Agotha states, the elderly woman flipping through her tome and ignoring the sergeants glares. "Oh Saint Drusus, such a finely formed example of the Emperor's blessing."

"If the resident commanding officer decreed it further inquiries are unnecessary. Are you fulfilling requirements 88c?" The masked woman stated, the krieger standing stock still as Misty looked down.

"Well about that, Unit was named by commanding officer, unit is referred by the moniker Misty now." Misty says a small vent of steam rising from her head as she pointed to the sergeant.

"...Unit was named?" 88a stated, a slight whisper of suprise entering into what was otherwise a complete monotone. "Is Officer aware of the total implications of the act?"

The sergeant blinked as Misty nodded. "The Sergeant must always be listened to. Intelligence must have been sufficently gathered."
>>
"Right... Intelligence gathered." The sergeant said, his red headband soaking up a drip of sweat. "But, just to make sure you are correct recite it for me."

88a salutes. "Sir, Kriegers are given number systems based on purpose and origin, as Kriegers owe at creation a debt of the Emperor's forgiveness. Until we clear the debt we do not have the rights of humans, above the mutant and witch only in that we seek the Emperor's light when others curdle in it." 88a forms the Aquila, as if even mentioning the word Mutant somehow sullied the air. "Naturally this means that acquiring a name is a indication that one has served with enough distinction that they managed to earn the right of humanity early."

"...Early?" The sergeant asks, almost regretting to hear the answer. "When is it normally awarded."

"Death." 88a shrugged. "Never mostly."

"You are a cheery lot." The Sergeant muttered.

"Unit personally found the theory overly optimistic herself." 88a nodded, unable to detect the sarcasm. "Nevertheless a Naming is a serious affair. Kriegers only know krieg, for that debt to be alleviated puts their life in the hands of whoever gave it to them. Normally the Departmento Munitorum, in this case you."

The sergeant frowned. "Wait that would mean."

"You adopted your private. Congratulations." Agotha stated flipping to another page of her book.

The sergeant looked at Misty, red lenses sparkling. Whatever he guesses, they'd probably die before retiring anyway and even if they didn't he suspected Misty was going to find a way to tag along somehow. And he got to stick it to the stupid slate shufflers a little anyway. "Thank you." You tell Agotha, the sister frowning at his lack of suffering.

"Inquiry," Misty began. "Unit heard 88b's voice, what become of her?"

"Unit won't like this..." 88a began before the tent flap opened, Misty fainting in her bed.

The Sergeant had to admit he was a little surprised himself.

He never saw a krieger not wear a mask before.

(Let's give it a try then)

A heap of junk, that looked like two spaceships wielded on top one another, drifted through space.
At the lower level of this ship Krieger stood in a rather large room waiting. After about a minute an alarm gone off, followed by opening of one of the doors and group of orks running into the room, stopping in front of Krieger in three orderly lines, with nine orks in each line.

But this wasn't the weird part, the weird part was that all of the orks were wearing something very similar to a standart Death korp of Krieg uniform, be it larger to fit the frame of greenskins, finished with appropriate size helmets and gas masks.

As orks stood in place, Kreiger looked at them and orks raised there hands to salute, followed by a sound of metal clinging, as three orks in second and last line fell to the ground backwards. Before it could attract Kreiger's attention, other greenskins quickly picked up orks that failed to salute and put them on there feet.
Krieger then saluted back and stepped forward to start the uniform inspection.

So then, we have yet to see kriegers deal with sisters, inquisitors, or space marines in any real sense.
>>
>>51661940
I once played a Krieger Inquisitor who was stuck in a paradox of his own ideals.

He wished an honorable death to repay the life debt all Kriegers have to the Emperor, the only problem was, he was bound to serve the Emperor as one of his holy Inquisitors (he was raised to the rank after his master was subject to an AIDS by a Slaaneshi Daemon). So he can't just go off and die, as that would be a failure of his Inquisitorial duties which he must now carry out (including this new thing people are calling 'socializing'). But he was brought up to essentially seek an acceptable death. Which leaves him stuck between a rock and a hard place. Constantly trying to figure a way out of his ideological quandary.

The paradox Krieger was incredibly fun to play.
>>
>>51661940
We've also yet to see a Heretical Krieg deal with a Tau and/or Eldar stranded on a deserted planet Robinson Crusoe style, and slowly fall in love that way.

Moving down the cramped corridor Theta felt a profound weariness, but it did not belong to him. The Witch had let go of his hand and was slumped against the wall. A promising project began forming in Theta’s mind but he forced himself to think of something else. He could not risk having the Witch detect anything.

“You are tired.” He hoped he didn't sound too excited.

“Amazing observation.”

Theta saw the opportunity and took it. “Follow me.” He supported her with an arm and led her to one of the canvas sheets. “We really need to talk. I mean having an actual conversation without you staring at yourself,” She was slurring her words, “It wasn't always like this…”

“Quiet now.” Theta could tell she was beginning to realize what he was doing but thankfully she said nothing. He crammed her between a row of resting bodies and waited. Soon enough alien dreams filled his head, a side effect of the mental bond. The Witch dreamed of grand receptions in lavish palaces filled with smiling faces, but there were no friends in the crowd. An image of the Witch carefully inspecting a wine glass floated before him like a mirage. Theta shook it away.

He waved his hand close to her face and pinched her cheeks. No response, she was dead to the world. Most importantly, she was out of his head, Theta’s thoughts were alone now. He scanned his surroundings. Quartermaster Epsilon was occupied with an amputation. He quietly unfixed his bayonet and crouched near the psyker.

He weighed it in his hands, a small item for such an important task. The Witch had said breaking the bond would hurt him but this was definitely another lie. Theta looked up and slowly turned his head side to side, repeating the process every few seconds. Stretcher bearers suddenly arrived and Epsilon turned to them. They all saw Theta.

The corporal apologized for loitering and left. He did not understand why he was relieved.

Commanding officer slowly walked among the rows, checking the uniform of every ork. All was in order, until the third ork of second row. Krieger looked at the greenskin from head to toes...He pulled out a saber, tapped ork's naked feet with a side the sword and looked at the orks eyes (as much as they were visible through the gas mask). Slightly shaking ork looked down at the Krieger and muttered "Squig...."
Slowly Krieger sheathed his weapon, then pointed at the ladder leading up to the rest of the ship. Ork got message immanently as he ran out of the line, going to the armory as fast as big greenskin could.

At that time one level down a something that could be called a parody of the scene above was coming together as an ork runthearder in a crude imitation of kreiger commander uniform (without the signature gas mask) stood in hall, quite a bit smaller then the one above and waited for his "soldiers" to come together.
Luckily he didn't have to wait long, as almost immediately after alarm that rang above, group of gretchins to crawled out from there rooms, getting to there place in the middle of the hall as quickly as possible.
After last of little green skins came to his place, ork pulled out a peace of rope with ork teeth on it and started counting - for every 5 gretchins, he moved one teeth to other end of the rope. After repeating this 8 times ork moved last teeth to another end of the rope, all of his "soldiers" were here. With a toothy smile in his face ork shouted
"To work boyz!!"

Nice, I could see Krieger's being scary enough to get Orks in line.

Private Omega looked like he had been run over by a Gorgon. A bloodied arm hung in a sling and an eyepiece was cracked. He gave the corporal an awkward salute. “The watchmaster is in the dugout,” he gestured to a dark tunnel, “there are documents in there. He won’t leave them alone, sir.”

“Has anyone seen him like this?”

“No, sir”

“Keep it that way.”

Theta descended the tunnel and found himself in a kind of library. Candles shown on crimson carpets covering the walls and floor. Everything seemed to be infused with a maroon glow. Watchmaster Phaesta paced quickly back and forth between two shelves. Sometimes he would stop and pick a book at random, carefully examine it, yell and tear it apart.

“Verdammt noch mal,” he muttered at regular intervals. The watchmaster’s display embarrassed the corporal. Phaesta eventually stopped and spoke to his underling.

“You were accused of being a malingerer. Are you one?” Phaesta’s eyepieces glinted red in the gloom.

“No, sir.”

“Noted,” Phaesta said in a calm voice. Theta sat down on a pew and watched.

Phaesta lunged at a bookcase and pushed it over. Books covered in leather of unknown origin spilled across the floor. Phaesta gingerly picked one up and brought it to the corporal.

“Recognize this?” Phaesta showed a random page filled with obscene scenes involving priests.

“Possibly heretical.” Was Theta’s reply.

“Possibly? This was seen at Cyriaca.”

Theta shook his head slowly. He tried to be sensible. “There was the epidemic, our squad was quarantined most of the campaign.”

Phaesta took a seat. “This information will not leave this room.” Theta nodded. Phaesta began his tale in earnest. “The epidemic was caused by the Archenemy. While you were kept isolated a special strike team left for the underhive, this included me. Things that shouldn't exist were down there.

“We were led by an inquisitor to a cave system under the city. It was not natural, the walls were alive. Faces…” Phaesta began swaying back and forth.

“There is no mention of this in the regimental logs, sir.” Theta pointed out.

“They were censored, the designations of the korpsmen wiped. The inquisition made people disappear. You are listening to the last piece of evidence,” Phaesta clenched his fists then relaxed, “Light…the color…things came out. They were giant...they tore into my head... all our minds.”

“Are you suffering from a head injury, sir?”

“The inquisitor said she only wanted to reach out. She began to turn and we had to do it. It was her fault. When the three of us were on the surface they locked us away. Two disappeared and one was left. They should of made us all disappear. The regiment tried so hard to forget but now it is happening again.” Phaesta stared at his boots.

Theta persisted. “We have received no confirmation from any of the ordos. These are just heathens. Your corporal has recommended to the commissar several tim-”

“It will start with the psykers. The Witch will turn and ruin the regiment bef-.”

“Do you want me to kill the Witch? Would that put you at ease, sir?” Phaesta looked up to Theta in surprise. “There is something your corporal can exploit. She wears herself out and this leaves her vulnerable. She rests now, she cannot detect our words, sir.”

Theta leaned in and whispered. “The commissar is gone. Most likely on his way to a third rate PDF regiment. The Lord General has forsaken her, it can be done. Stray shots happen all the time in the dark. When this Archenemy comes our regiment will have no internal weakness.”

Phaesta breathed heavily as he took it all in. “What was seen on Cyriaca cannot be forgotten. Your watchmaster is unfit for duty.”

“Humbly report sir, all decisions can be made by your corporal.”

I never really wrote much, he was part of a squad of Inquisitors assembled by a Lord Inquisitor to take on an incredibly dangerous assignment agaisnt a Chaos Undivided uprising in an utterly vital system.

He had a greatcoat, a skull mask, and a peaked cap. That, and his old Lasgun.

Had the worst weapons of the entire party, along with a death wish. He ended up being the only survivor of the mission, after the others either died or turned.

When he came back to report to the Lord Inquisitor, he found out (through the encoded message on the Chaos Lords ship, from him) that he was corrupted from the start, and had sent them on a suicide mission.

Knowing that essentially everyone on the Lord Inquisitor's was heretical or otherwise, when he returned to the ship he immediately made for the warp drive. He knew the Lord Inquisitor was heretical, but because of what he had been taught he couldn't bring himself to kill him.

Instead he sabotaged the warp drive with some Krak grenades and allowed himself and the ship to be lost in the warp forever. Taking his former ally with him.

One of the most badass characters I ever played. That DH game was legendary.

I always wondered if Kriegers were loyal to the ideals of the imperium or just the law of the land myself.

Like if you can just order a krieger to fall and they wont even notice when they serve chaos?
>>
>>51665089
They are brainwashed to follow the God-Emperor. If you can trick them into thinking the God-Emp = chaos maybe, but my gut feeling is that it would be significantly more difficult to make that average Krieger fall then the average guardsman
>>
>>51665242
They are renowned for loyalty but its not like they havent massacred others before.
>>
>>51665089
I played him as still considering him both a heretic and a holy agent of the God Emperor. Just how he was an Inquisitor but wanted death, even though he knew he couldn't just do that.

He adheres to the ideals and laws. But he was faced with another paradox (or double think) regarding the Lord Inquisitor. So he choose the most Krieg option, death. His and the Lord Inquisitor's. That way he would be punished for killing an Inquisitor, by dying, but be absolved of his debt by. slaying a whole ship of Chaos worshippers in the same breath. Balancing it out.

So it all worked out for his twisted logic in the end.

Small steps corrupt although i'm not quite sure what the first step for a Kriger would be; admitting that unfiltered air is nice?
>>
>>51671189
That is another issue.

Kriegers have everything to be offered because they dont have anything. They are probbably mostly kept pure because kriegers regularly cull the ranks like orks do.

I mean we can SAY strict training and indoctrination would make someone unbreakable but they said that about the space marines.

Turns out.
>>
>>51671250
So ideally it would be a Krieger who was transferred out of his regiment to a regular guard unit that would not be able to tell how bizarre it be for a Kriger to like unfiltered air, how he might grumble about being able to see tomorrow or how much he likes killing xenos.
>>
>>51671347
Itd be either a krieger isolated such as behind enemy lines or of course chaos has been shown to simply overpower people. Psykers always run the risk of just "Going crazy" no matter how iron their will is (Hence the need of aegis armor, librarian hoods, bonds with the emperor like the astropaths use (Why dont the grey knights do that?) blah blah. Also the one chaos sister managed to litterally force other sisters to chaos.

I assumed its just that, no matter how iron your will is, once you are crazy and hallucinating chaos can make you do anything it wants anyway.

“Can they?”

Theta grew nervous. The watchmaster continued. “You have always discussed having the Witch perish in an accident. Only now does it sound like you will go through with it.”

There was an edge in the watchmaster’s voice that Theta did not appreciate. “The commissar would not give his consent, sir,” Theta replied calmly. He decided he liked his superior better when he was panicking.

“You did not request my consent when you attached the psyker to our squad.” Phaesta stood up and it was Theta’s turn to worry now. “There have been rumors about you and the psyker. These have been dismissed but recent evidence is forcing me to reconsider.”

Theta took deep breaths and relaxed. “Your corporal does not understand. The commissar has made inappropriate comments but he is unreliable and is being transferred. Anything else is baseless slander, sir.”

More silence. Theta began paying attention to the small details of the room. More and more wax dripped from the candles, it grew dark.

“There must be reasons why she is so fond of you. Your behavior has not helped matters.”

Theta gripped the pew again, anger was turning to fear. “Pardon, sir?”

“You have been acting very erratic lately. You talk about the Witch in your sleep, sometimes you cry. Every morning you look terrified and stare at the shadows.”

Theta nearly fainted. The watchmaster had been watching him, he knew it immediately.

“You are competent. You have my permission to lead the squad and to deal with the Witch. But…” there was something in Phaesta’s voice Theta could not recognize, “If we live to see the rest of the regiment it will be necessary for you to go to a penal legion. Your behavior sets a bad example. You will die for the Emperor but not with us. Does this affect your judgement?”

“Of course not. A watchmaster can always trust his corporal, sir.”

Theta took a look at the entrance behind him. Empty.
>>
>>51671966
Phaesta cocked his head and listened to the vox. "The Captain needs me. We will meet as soon as possible.” Phaesta left and the corporal sat alone.

Theta could not think, move or breath. He had spent the entire day meeting the demands made of him and he failed. He could no longer prove himself to the regiment now. Even if he ended the Witch’s life he would be doomed to a penal legion.

He remembered that long ago he had promised himself that he would never be humiliated in front of the regiment. A remarkable thing happened in the dark. Out of his own free will Theta made a decision. When he died he would not be tainted by the mental bond and he would not be wearing an explosive collar. Something welled up inside him and the plan took shape. It was outrageous, it broke every rule and regulation. But it was the only way.

A memory. It was not until Theta was twelve years old that he was presented with an image of the Emperor. He was terrified, he had never seen something so bright or a man so confident. Eventually a new desire emerged. The desire to be pure, to be a pleasing sacrifice for Him. Theta did not want to approach the Golden Throne wearing rags and a collar, with the Witch whispering to him about the past. He wanted to be seen by the Emperor as the korpsman he was meant to be, with the eyepieces peering up at Him. Not the dark eyes on a thin face.

The Witch dreamed of power plays made over glasses of amasec and he knew Phaesta had no idea what was going to happen. The plan would succeed, it had too.

Private Omega was still at attention when Theta emerged. “Important materials are down there private, guard them with your life. Under no circumstances will you leave.” The words came out too slowly but Omega failed to notice.

“Yes, sir”

Theta watched him descend the tunnel. The private did not fit into Theta’s plan. The corporal was going to be a hero.

(This is the Ogryn thread)

A gasmask stares at you, but dis time the lenses aren't red dey are grey, also da coats tan.

"Let me understand this." Captain t inspects your request, a piece of paper you forged all clever like, just da way ciggy told ya to.

"You think your captain is fighting with your commissar, who is a inquisitor right?" Captain Treant said, if you recall right dis guy was from da armageddy place with all da orks. Dey make guud chimeras there ( you dun really think dat der really IS such thing as a good chimera though) so dey got lot of dem. Now dey are da armored company.

You nod as da Captain continues.

"So your krieg captain, which are fanatically loyal and are practically robots, is upset that a inquistor lied to him, even though thats all they do." You nod again.

"So you decide it is your emperor assigned duty to take them on a... date." The captain coughs as he said it, like the idea made him get a belly ache. Probably cause its so smart it makes his head urt too.

"AND you figure the best way to do this is to build fortifications around my chimera track, AND you couldn't find any documents for that so you drew a smily face on a piece of paper with red grotwax."

You nod. "Yup dats da plan... except da last part, dat's not true." Dat was true, you had to ask da nice lady at da medic tent to let you borrow da drawin tools dey give da whiteshields.

Treant stares at you before pulling out his seal and stamping the document. "You know what, here. I am going to see if I can get drunk enough this makes sense." The armageddon member marches out, rebreather rasping in words dat you don fink you ought to fink about too hard or your momma would smack ya round.

But it worked, da first phase has been... initishated.

You show off da paper to Fifteehate. "See dat, told you I got permission to fix da track up."

Fifteehate looks at it. "Well... Unit has seen Administratum documents of a similar format. Unit shall acquire the necessary supplies, you contact the captain."

You nod as ya buddy scampers off into... hey dats rustys tent... she just wanted to look at da shinies again. Dat rascal.

You amble over to da offica tent. Now youve been in a bunch of offica tents in da day, mostly when ciggy why you always showed up when dey ordered da ratling snipers. Most of dem are decorated and all dressed cording to da regiment its in.

Well dis regiment is made of a lot of different regiments so da place hurts your eyes a little. Da jungly guys mosquito netting drips into all da banners your old boys had, and der is big sandbag walls everywhere.

You wander into da tent, lookin for da space desk da captain has.

One of da desks dont have a person in it, instead da desk was used to play fort, the desk lifted bysandbacks and a autocanny pointiing out a wall of sandbags at you all swivel like.

You inch around the minipillbox and peek inside it, da Captain sitting inside it, a small collum of smoke spilling out there mask, back stiff and red lenses starring at the wall.

"Hey Captain." You salute. "You doin arright."

"Unit is not suffering injuries." The Captain states. "Cease salute." (You figured out a while go dat kriegers never say at ease cause dey never at ease probbably why dey get all steamed easily).

You frown. "What are you doing."

"Unit is stationed at garrison quiet awaiting orders." The captain states.

"...Can I go to garyson quite too?" You ask, the captain doesn't answer but he does scoot aside.
>>
>>51672363

"Are you still sad about being lied to."

"The commissariat's task is to increase troop morale, unit's task was to show the Emperor my company was worthy of his grace." The Captain stated. "But unit's authority is superseded. Does Unit still have a task. Why Unit's duty, the 645 has 6 companies? Was mine performing suboptimal?"

You shrug. "Maybe we were just closer to da vault given we were tryinta dig inta it an all. "

The captain tilts his head. "Then why was unit not informed prior? Was unit undeserving of trust? And more importantly, if unit is unfit for trust is he unfit for the Emperor?"

You think. "Hey I found dat da Armygeddies made a Chimera track, its awfully ill fortifive, so we gonna build a proper encampment so its all safe to ride round in. Fifteehate and I would be awfully happy if you could give us advise."

"...Can unit assign artillery to the fortified area?"

You nod. "All da artillery we have if you want, you da captain."

"Unit volunteers." The captain says as you smile. "Dats it, it'll be a lot of..." Whats da krieg word for fun again. "Adequite time usage."

>>51672417
Da next person to find was da inquisitah, who was a bit harder to see till you decided to follow what dat chain sound was.

Da inquisitah was in da training ground, chainsword pokin out dat metal arm of hers and rippin into a dead orks face. "Greetings Thudd." The inquisitah states, kicking the target dummy to the floor as her blade flips back into her arm. "What are you doing here?"

You nod. "Well you see, we were going to fortyfive da chimera track and wanted to see if you would help."

The inquisitah sighs, black hair tossled under her commissah hat. "Look I have to deal with figuring out how to stop a khornate ork, I'm very busy. Especially to sweat over fixing up a stupid track."

Dat's true you guess. "Dats a shame, thirteeun was going to use da track to hold dose big cannons but we cant requisishun dem on our own."

The inquisitor's ears poke up. "You say 31 will be there? Captain 31? Captain 645-31? Of Company 3 Siege Infantry?"

You nod. "Yeah, yeah, yeah and yeah. Dat is the same guy... all dose times why did you need to ask that much." You scratch your head.

"I will assist in your fortification, it is important that we can gurnatee the combat rediness of our armored assault units." The Commissar nods.

You frown. "I thought you said you were busy and the idea was dumb." Your confused.

"I never said that. I said I was busy and the track was dumb." The commissar said quickly. "I never said HOW busy and tracks do not have intelligence as they are objects."

You... guess that is right. You blink as the inquisitor walks away, all... bouncier den normal.

You'll never figgure dese inquisital types out at all, dey are just too mysterious.

Third level of the ship, Armory

Tiny room filled with lasguns, flamers, bolters, power weapons and other things of that nature.
Laying in the chair, with his hat on top of his eyes was a man who looked after this beauty.
Sayed man would probably have slept for the rest of the day if not for a big greenskin that was knocking on the armory's window. Man raised his hat and looked at what was happening
"Oh it's one of you boys" man smiled and looked at the half assembled chainsword that was laying on the table nearby.
"Tell your mother that her sword is not ready yet, and she will have to use that saber for now."
Ork shook his head
"Not that? What then?" Man once again looked at the big greenskin. Ork then points down.
"Hmm?" man stood up and walked to the window, noticing that ork was pointing at his foot. "Oh, you need a boot. What happened?"
"Squig..." Ork replied
"Oh...So there is nothing left to fix...Wait here for a bit, I will check the stock" man smiled, as he opened one of the doors in the back of the armory.
"Human...Gretchin...Tau...Who put the tag for tau here?! There are no Tau on the ship!!....Oh here it is ork..." Man then shouts "Hey what is your size?"
"3" ork replied
"Your lucky, we have a lot of those" man walked out with a big boot in his hand "Here, now you should probably hurry, your boss might get angry" man started to laugh as he watched ork putting on a boot, trying to not fall down on his side while standing on one leg.
Once greenskin was done, he quickly ran off back to the deeps of the ship.

The Kriegers had been very busy making themselves at home in the cargo bay. By the time Immo arrived, exhausted, bruised, and with a stream of blood running down the front of her jumpsuit, the horde of gasmasks had made themselves quite at home. She was greeted by a line of flakboard, stretching from one end of the bay to the other, a single killing field leading in. A dozen sets of lenses turned to stare at her in silence as she burst through a maintenance door.

Gasping for air and quickly getting back to her feet, she could only stare dumbfounded for a moment at the 12 foot wall in front of her. Under the silent watch of the Kriegers, she marched her back down the line and into the killing field. Several Kriegers swiveled heavy stubbers in her direction, quietly tracking her as she walked to the guardpost entry. A pair of Kriegers watched her, stock still and with their lasguns held firmly in their gloved hands.

“State your business.” Immo looked down at the Krieger, coming right up to them. Each barely came up to her sternum. One of them took a moment to follow the trail of blood leading up her uniform, lensed eyes stopping to stare at the bleeding gap in her smile. She just sighed, and pushed past the two. Malnourished as they were, the pair couldn’t have weight more than she did, even with their kits, and were promptly planted against the flakboard.

Her first few steps were halted by the click and whirr of lasguns being activated. “Halt! Only authorized personnel are permitted within the…” Whatever they had to say after was promptly cut short by Immo swinging her footlocker off her shoulder and bashing the both of them in one sweep. While one held a now snapped wrist, the other looked up from the floor as Immo stomped over to them. She grabbed them by the throat, and lifted them up against the flakboard, feet dangling a meter off the ground.
>>
>>51678602

“Listen here you filter sucking sons of whores, I am Immo Late, liaison appointed by the Captain himself. This is MY cargobay for the duration of your stay! The only people who can tell me where I am allowed to go in here is the Captain and the Emperor himself! I do NOT take kindly to having weapons pointed at me by the people, if you lot could even be called that, who I have been assigned to oversee! You will greet me as Ma’am, you will not impede me and, by the Emperor’s planet busting balls, if ANY of you point a gun at me again, I will personally have this entire fucking cargohold vented into the void, and LAUGH when I give the command!”

Through the Krieger’s lense, she could see a distinct bulging of the eyes, and promptly dropped the man with a heavy thud back onto the decking. “Now get your fellow to the medicae. I have to speak to your Hauptmann.” Gasping for air, the Krieger silently complied, helping the wounded man to his feet. The other guards on the wall watched the exchange with a mixture of glances, some of them half lifting their guns, their trained muscles moving without a thought. Only the steadying hand of more experienced soldiers pushed them down, head shaking slowly.

Now inside the Krieger’s domain, she made her way towards what she could only assume was the regimental HQ structure. Along the way she passed by more pre-fabricated structures. All the same matte grey flakboard, the only distinction from a barrack or a messhall being a small sign labeling them as such. Kriegers were bustling all around her, carrying crates, boxes, stacks of freshly laundered uniforms, or other assorted items. None of them paid her a moment’s notice. She was thankful for that.
>>
>>51678616

Pushing open the door to the HQ, she looked around the mostly empty room, only a few Krieg officers sitting at desks, working away at dataslates, checking numbers, orders, and issuing commands. The Hauptmann was sitting at the very end of the room, his ornate aquila mounted on the wall behind him. For a moment, Immo forgot about all the anger she was feeling, looking at the bewildering assortment of facets cut into the gems. Only the rasping breath of the Secretary beside her pulled her from her moment of calm.

“Ma’am? Do you require assistance? Or a medicae? You appear to be bleeding.” Immo just looked down at them, barely tall enough to come to the bottom of her ribcage. She noted a few strands of chestnut brown hair poking out around their cap, and a skin so pale it reminded her of the Lightless down on Y deck. “Liaison Late, reporting. Lets get this shitshow in transit.” She thrust her footlocker into the Krieger’s arms. “Put that somewhere I can sleep without having a bunch of you in the room with me.”

The short Krieger wrapped both arms around the locker, and promptly fell forward with a heavy thud, unprepared for the sheer weight of stones held within. As they scrambled off the floor with a quick “Yes ma’am, right away ma’am.” Immo stomped up to the Hauptmann’s desk, and pulled up a chair. The Hauptmann didn’t even look up from their dataslate as they pushed a bottle of amasec to the woman, along with a small glass.

“Didn’t know Krieger’s drank.” She didn’t even touch the glass, instead just pulling the top off the bottle and began sipping off it. “We do not. However, I have found over the years a little alcohol can ease things for both parties. Now, what’s this about you snapping Delta-61’s wrist?” The Hauptmann put down their dataslate, fingers steepled in front of them as they rested their masked chin on their hands.
>>
>>51678635

She took another slug from the bottle, swishing it around in her mouth and cleaning out the hole in her gums. Iron mixed with copper danced along her tongue. “Because he pointed a gun at me. Be thankful I didn’t swing downward, or you’d be cleaning a smear off the decking.” She spat out a piece of flesh that had broken away from her gums.

“I see. Is this a common form of discipline employed on this vessel, or were you being creative in your actions?” She was honestly surprised the Hauptmann was taking things so calmly. She had been expecting some uppity officer yelling about THEIR men and all that good crap. It was the hardest part, getting the brass to understand they were no longer the biggest rat in the bilge.

“Figure I had to make a point. Figure you’ve lost enough men during your time in the void, didn’t want to steal anything from the Emperor. So long as the wound isn’t permanent, I’ve just broken the Emperor’s toy soldier, not stolen.” She winced as her tongue prodded the hole in her gums. A canine. Those were easy enough to carve.

“Normally the punishment for brandishing weapons at superior officers not performing heretically is summary execution.” The Hauptmann picked up his dataslate and began to punch something in before it was snatched away by Immo, who quickly stood up and held the slab of glass and metal above her head. The Hauptmann looked ready to try and leap up to grab it, but reconsidered when he saw it pushed flat against the roof.

“He’s already been disciplined. I’m not a part of your crew, and they don’t know the ship’s rules. Instead of executing him… I’m going to ask they be assigned to my entourage.” Immo slowly lowered the dataslate, offering it back to the Hauptmann. It was snatched back quickly, and examined for any damage. She was certain she heard a sigh underneath the rasping filter.

a) Suicidal creature with no feelings
b) Greenskin

P.S. Guys, is it bad I want to add Sister Hospitaler into the whole story to help with story telling? Or are orks that are scared of a krieger weird enough?

You can do what you want, weirdness plateaus. See the reasonable marines.

Granted all of this would make sense if you just give the Krieger a warrant of trade.
>>
>>51679934

Oh, as in they are rogue traders, well that is a part of base idea, top half of the ship was rogue traider ship, that was wielded to former ork ship...
Now getting Sister Hospitaler to not try to kill anyone will be the hard part....
>>
>>51679629

Thanks, I wanted the commander to be... understanding of others. He knows not everyone can be as devoted as a Krieger, but are still devoted to the Emperor.

Now I get to the fun part of building a new squad for Immo, and deciding if I do in fact want this to go smutty, or have it be bromance.
>>
>>51680191
I don't see immo being very romantic. Msybe bromsnce with benifits? But then, I don't know everything, and you write the story.

>>
>>51680722
Romance definitely ain't what come off of Immo. Snu Snu with a krieger may be seen in the future, but i don't see the kriegers as that kind. Bromance would definitely be the way to go. Also you may not want to make her seem too strong, as a planet born in good health would be stronger than Immo or most spaceborn, as they would have a denser muscular and bone structure.
>>
>>51681485

Keyword there is good health. These Kriegers have more than half a decade of zero gravity exposure, coupled with starvation. As it stands, astronauts have to spend twice as long as they spend in zero gravity to regain any lost bone density, and suffer muscle atrophy. None of these Kriegers are in good health.

Plus, Immo's a professional soldier. When you have artificial gravity, there's nothing to stop you from increasing it in certain parts of the ship for training purposes.
>>
>>51681627
Basically right now even i can probaabaly break a kriegers wrist.

Pretty much. Bones like glass, the lot of them. Luckily, we have super science medicine to help them get better at the speed of plot. And bear in mind her weapon of choice was a footlocker full of rocks.

88b glared at the onlookers, the sergeant with vague confusion, Misty with blatant horror, 88a with stern disapproval, and Agotha with rapt fascination... except said fascination was pointed specifically downward at her book.

The girl frowned, alabaster skin that was perfectly unmarred if one ignored the three stitches wrapped around and across the face, black hair tossing around her helmet and goggles hanging off her neck, the bottom ends of a gasmask clipped to her belt. "You don't need to be so dramatic, those two have faces why can't I get one."

"Those two are PEOPLE 88b you aren't one." 88a stated finger pointing accusingly at the rebellious krieger. "What about selflessness, what about the reward? You can't throw that all away on, cosmetic adjustments."

"Technically she is a person, she has no xenos dna, and despite acute radiation damage she had no mutations, visible or otherwise." Agotha said from over her book. "I saw no reason to humor her and with all the waiting we've been doing I had excessive vat tissue."

88a turned to glare at her, hand hovering near her bayonet. "Oh come off that." The sister said. "I leave the twerp alone cause he's injured but if you are going to go all hissy to a servant of the Emperor I have no quarrel giving you a time out on that bed over there. I grew up in the schola, you know. "

88a's hands left her belt. "Do you know the implications in humoring her. Next she'll eat solid food and do things for... for... leisure! You can't humor such defectivities"

The old lady raises a eyebrow, book slamming shut with a musty whack. "He eats solid food." The lady points a finger at the sergeant. "Are you saying he's... wait hmmm..."

The sergeant sighs. "Look I don't see the problem either."

"Unit doesn't think sir would understand, considering Sir never wears clothes." Misty pipes up as her helmet is flicked. "Ow."

"The point is individuality is a gift that has to be earned." The krieger said glaring at b, who has sat down ignoring her sisters tirade. "Its not something you can just give yourself because the rest of your squad doesn't believe in combat readiness."

"Oh come off it, it's not like I named myself, besides its easier to shoot without the mask on. I can see colors now."

88a gave a humph and walked away as 88b turns to the injured guardsmen. "Sorry about that, shes never gotten over the damn thing." 88b fiddles with her stitches. "Can't see why, they are just augmentics, we use them all the time."

The sergeant shrugged, wincing from his ork wounds. "Look, you kriegers seem depressing in general, I try to not bother with your reasoning."

88b stares at him, blinking slowly as if unused to doing so. "Unit has seen similar sentiments yes. Unit still does not understand it, the logic is sound." The guard scratches her stitches. "Yet morale has improved since adjustments were made. Perhaps former designation 88c would be interested in similar adjustments."

Steam floods Misty's mask. "Me? I can't regulation clearly states-"

"Misty, regulations are in place for KRIEGER units. Misty is a Catachan now." 88b states eyes having given up on this whole blinking business, staring at Misty directly. "You don't have to do anything besides what the boss says."

Misty turns to the sergeant, and then to her sister, then back to her sergeant. "You mean, unit can, but-but..." The guardsmen stammers confused. "...is this why you got the commissar to transfer me. To...to order me unclothed and barefaced!" The krieger gasped. "You pervert."

Misty pauses before flipping through her dataslate. "Bed... bed... why would sleep affect a relationship..." The krieger gasped, hands trembling as she showed the slate to the sergeant. "Did... did you think I did this?"

The sergeant picked up the slate reading the page. "This is about cuddling." The sergeant lowered the slate as Misty nodded.

"Unit assures you she'd never be so debase as performing that. Especially not in public!"

You stare at her. "Right I am officially confiscating this." The sergeant hands the tablet to Agotha. "Keep this away from her please."

"Look I'm not going to MAKE you take off your mask, so long as you stop wearing stupid unstealthy outfits you can follow whatever uniform regulations you like."

"...Thank you sir." Misty mutters saluting you.

"Am I interrupting a moment between the two of you?" 88b asked. "Unit CAN leave. Sergeant asked me to make sure some idiots don't ruin the Chimera track with some weird date nonsense."

I use their as a neutral pronoun, and use it as a singular all the time. "Where is so and so? "They are in their room." Works better than it in my books.

And no Hauptmann is not going to the the bromance object. As per story telling formula, he is the mentor. The princess will be found when Immo gets her squad.

I've played numerous gender neutral characters over the years in PnP, mostly robots of varying sorts. Again, I found they and their to be more suitable pronouns than It. I do not consider it a tumblr craze to have genderless characters. Kitbash is another They/Their, because at this point they are effectively genderless. All those bits got removed. Rather than play the "lets make up new pronouns to express how unique we are" game, I just use they and their instead of it. Makes them feel more human in my books. IT is a thing, an object, or something alien. They are a person in their own way, regardless of what fleshy bits they may or may not have between their legs.

That makes no sense, plural neutral pronouns literally cant be used as a singular, that's why there is a difference between singular and plural. Their* is not a singular pronoun as you are using it, so that doesn't work. Where did you go and get beaten over the head to develop such shit grammar?
>I've played numerous gender neutral characters over the years in PnP, mostly robots of varying sorts. Again, I found they and their to be more suitable pronouns than It. Read above on the singular neutral pronoun thing not being a thing. As for the genderless characters, that is a different thing as they physically don't have a gender, as the Kriegers would still have their own(whether or not they actually work in any capacity is up to your interpretations of how grimdark the regiment/specific character to be, and whether or not any of them deem it relevant to mention it) but they would still use actual proper pronouns. And another thing, if this is staying in Immo's point of view then it makes even less sense for them to be (Incorrectly) using neutral pronouns in the singular. I don't care if this is being autistic, but just looking at that horrible misuse of grammar is just hurting my brain to look at.
>>
>>51689046

I picked it up over the years of reading and writing and found it to be a preference in my writings. If my use of they and their as a pronoun is the greatest offense to grammar you find in my writing, I will take it as a compliment, regardless of your delivery.

I will admit, I've made some errors. It is my intention to have the Hauptmann's gender remain vague and unknown for now, and declarative pronouns that have slipped in are mistakes that I did not catch in my proof reading. Need to focus more on that it seems.

While it may make you twinge, for which I am sorry that it retracts from your over all enjoyment of my writing, it is a choice I have made quite some time ago to use. I would rather butcher and repurpose a preexisting word that I find serviceable for my needs rather than use it or ignore pronouns all together. Or worse, reach into the grab bag of tumblr approved pronouns.
>>
>>51689176
You know, I am having the weirdest sense of deja vu with a intentionally bad writer, not as bad as a few I read, but this entire thing must be a joke when I read this part
>Or worse, reach into the grab bag of tumblr approved pronouns.
>>
>>51689305

No, quite serious for the most part, but a little humor can help lighten some situations.

I write this way because I like to. Writers repurpose words all the time, make up new ones, and bastardize their chosen language to suit their needs.

As far as I see it, if my use choice of pronoun conveys my intentions, it works. I'm not looking to publish this anywhere besides a Filipino scrimshaw image board, because I got a hair up my ass to write because I enjoyed the works of others and wanted to add my offering to story time.

It's not perfect, it never will be, and I'm fine with that. If my choice offends your literary sensibilities, I'm sorry.

However, I am not inclined to bow to the wishes of someone who focuses purely on something as minor as pronoun choice, and expressions that displeasure with a mixture of insults in otherwise rather civil criticism.

I will take away that I need to increase my proof reading and check for any errant pronouns that do not belong, and for that I thank you for your input. As pleasant as praise is, I like it when people point out my flaws, intentional or not. You will never improve if everyone tells you that everything is awesome. One of the many problems of tumblr.

Quartermaster returned to his chair and laid back, once again putting his hat on top of his eyes and trying to get some sleep. But just as he managed to settle in, someone else knocked the armory's window. Man raised his hat a bit and noticed one more gas mask outside, be it this time it wasn't one worn by an ork.
"Oh doc, what brings you here" Man stood up and walked to the armory window
"You kreigers aren't the kind that lose equipment..ever..." he laughs as he looks at the gas masked man.
Kreiger quickly replied with few quick gestures.
"You need for me to talk to a civilian?" man tries to understand the message.
Krieger nodded. Man stood there for a moment thinking "Well captain is a bitch, kreigers don't talk and xeno might be misunderstood....". Having come to this conclusion, quartermaster opened one of the doors in the armory and walking out into the corridor.

At that time, one floor down in the kitchen

Ten gretchin were running around in the kitchen, preparing the meal for ships crew. Two of them were roasting the meat, Three where cutting the huge fungi and vegetables of unknown origin into bits and rest were trying to take down an angry squig. Everything was overseen by an ork runtherd, who made sure none of his tiny minions would end up in a pot or get eaten by the beast that was running around in the back of the kitchen.
All this went well until the squig eat through the wall that held it in containment and went after one of the cooks. But it seemed runtherd liked his gretchin a little bit more then most orks, as he pulled biggest cleaver that was in the skull that held all the knifes and threw in at the squig, embedding the blade in between it's eyes. Runtherd then jumped forward and grabbed the cleaver and used it to lift squig into the air, before slammed it into the ground, causing half of its teeth to fall out.
But creature was still alive, so ork grabbed it by the leg and threw it into the wall, where it laid dazed long enough for gretchin to jump onto it to finish it off. Ork returned to his chair, where he watched his little greenskins working with a big smile in his face.

>>
>>51700608
Incidentally thats more or less what 88b looks like with her fancy new skin.

There is a weird inspiration story for that headcanon btw.
>>
>>51700689
Inquiry, why did she have a skin graft, and why was it purely cosmetic when that isn't offered in the guard? Unless they are burn victims...or hit with Tyranid bio toxins.
>>
>>51700747
Kriegers dont show their skin for a reason, the radiation of the home damages it. (In my story, in canon kriegs one of those things that people dont focus on to leave to the imagination).

Those who suffer from radioactive mutations quickly get killed, but not sufferering mutations at birth and suffering acute cell damage are different things. This leads to why they also get so many augmentics, besides of course their die hard loyalty that gurantees if you give a krieger a bionic arm he WILL use it well (And I assume said grafts get ripped out of the corpses unceremoniously on death and shipped back).

However, all these issues are resolved through the food unit of the rebreather and simply using your uniform as your skin, so replacement surgery is considered a luxury in Krieg.

The question isnt "Why does the guard offer skin grafts" (Since hospitaller are outside that for the most part) its why you need a skin graft to take off your mask.

Note Misty HAS changed uniforms but never in view of anyone and the ones she did take are similarly fully covered.

The idea came from Love and Krieg 1 wierdly enough.

You know the fact Terranis became the Holy land of krieg? That if you serve faithfully and die with honor you get a house in a nice place away from trouble and can just live your life until Called?

I tried to make a PAthfinder 40k (Rather a space setting where i can use pathfinder rules), only certain factions could use certain classes, items like the holobow exists, and blah blah. It was a lot of rip offs so it hits this weird spot were i can either use it or just take the noblebright setting.

In that there are Inquisitors (The CLASS), they are faceless beings who only wear steel masks and refer to each other by number, and many of them have infact the same number so they can replace themselves seemlessly if one dies. They work like the judical system, they enforce the laws the actual lords set and make sure the lords don't do anything shifty because inquisitors can dissolve and form noble houses at will and also control the special forces where the Lords only have the Guard equivalent.

The Inquisitors are all vat grown, manufactured so they wont have any ties besides to the system, but their big reward is that one day the Inquisition will manufacturer a identity, surgically graft them a face, and just drop them off at a house. And then they can be a normal person like everyone else.

So I gave the Krieg in my story that. They are souless automotons who believe if they perfom valorously they can die in eternal glory, but should they happen to survive the glory they get to not be kriegers anymore, the Munitorium gives them a identity and usually just sends them off to be drill abbots.

Its not something that actually HAPPENS. Except in this case to Misty (quite accidentally) but its a goal, something to give the children a dim glimmer of hope during training, they grow out of it but you know, the young are weak.

Ah, it wasn't that clear, as there was no reason to assume she had a skin damage, but that still wouldn't make sense because any outside officer would have them fix that shit immediately regardless of their priorities on the subject. You keep writing about Krieger's as if they are completely alone in this situation, they are required to meet minimal health standards for a guard unit(low as they may be) and not bothering to keep their soldiers skin in order would be completely unacceptable. What you just described as believing is an example of grimstupid that wouldn't be allowed to go on, if they got injured in an attack on the other hand and chose not to take an immediate skin graft(so long as it wasn't life threatening, so another could use it) and got it at a later date depending on the severity, then that would be a different thing entirely and would be perfectly fine.
>>51701079
This entire post is irrelevant as they are not inquisitors, and a homebrew setting has no effect on what happens elsewhere, unless some random GW guy is in this thread and takes the idea, Krieg are born vat grown yes, but they are not important enough to warrant the inquisitorial thing you mentioned before. They are to be effective soldiers, and a glaring defect as what you described above would once again, be unacceptable, for themselves(as they want to be as effective as possible and aren't dumb enough to ignore something as obvious as that), but the Mechanicus as well as the Munitorium, for their pride in their work and favorite....soldiers/(toy weapons(?)) respectively.
>>
>>51701226
The explanations where the idea came from. Of course the inquisitors arent directly related. However Kriegers ARE for the simple reason guardsmen ARE allowed to retire. Some regiments are even given the right to rule the next planet they conquer for the imperium. Writing a name in the blank and taking money off their retirement fee for surgery is well within something ANY Solider can do. Presuming of course they are one of the rare ones who manage to retire. Its just only the kriegs want to.

I distinctly remember but can be wrong that kriegers do not take their masks off.

As for "This is unnecessarily grimdark"... no. Its 40k. This is the setting where the primary form of motivating your army is to shoot them in the head. Entire regiments come and go due to filing mistakes and worlds are blown up over the grudges of inquisitors.

"Army has bad health standards" is nothing, some of the feral world regiments still use flintlock. The Krieg Quatermaster's explanatory wiki paragraph explains how a big part of their job that the other medics dont is executing soldiers too wounded to go to battle.

Further its not like the kriegers find the skin thing noteworthy, anyone damaged enough that it severely hampers them is grafted to the point they are capable again or otherwise executed. If, say a Cadian knew, theyd get the krieger healed but most regiments dont bother talking to kriegers, and the feeling is mutual. Its just, really unpleasant to look at but note I already had a very heavily burned and crippled commissar appear weeks before and no one cared.

Finally the reason why it wasnt clear is because the whole krieger issue thing was only something i wanted to lightly touch, I try to seed my stories with offhand remarks that reveal that krieg is infact, deeply fucked up.
>>
>>51701580
....we know the Krieger's are fucked up, not really sprinkling anything we didn't already know, this is just out of left field, as commissars aren't Krieger's, so I don't know why you thought it was relevant to mention him having a messed up face. It would be by choice for him to do that, not a birth defect. Which is again, a different thing entirely to what you claimed to have been hinting at.
>>
>>51701694
Your arguement is "No one would let someone have messed up skin in the army."

And its not a birth defect because birth defects would be executed cause those would be mutations. Its a byproduct of living their too long. They are just normal radiation scars its just because they live their so long and the place is so wastelandish they are just heavily scarred.
>>
For the record dont feel bad about making me pissy im just glad i dont have to bump the thread myself for the 3rd time in a row. Compared to that "Your idea is shit" lets me know you actually care.
>>
>>51701789
Oh yeah...we need a new thread soon.
>>
>>51701819
Just make sure someone puts a link to the new thread here in the old one once it's up, so folks know to move threads.

Don't need it yet, just making the note.
>>
So yeah, in my story the Krieger's cult of sacrifice has a vague almost fairytale of actually giving up enough.

The idea is that well living saints and the like exist, surely the Space Marines and Celestine paid their dues. If Celestine can go from Repentia to angel then even wretches like them can go... somewhere. Though for Kriegers the idea is usually going from "Wretches who die for the emperor" to "Noble soldiers who die for the emperor".

Kriegers who perform admirably and have served with distinction get the honor of a name and personhood. Often these namers end up as officers as a side effect of the distinction or get sent off to other regiments with the name and the memories of their dead comrades.

Fancy ones, or most often people sent as auxilla or as acolytes for the inquisition often get cosmetic grafts, mostly for other peoples sake. While the radiation damage tends to be severe enough to be a cause of concern for most people to the krieg who grow up with it such things are trivial.

I actually am suprised the concepts been viewed solely negatively so far, i was rather smug about it, shows what I know.

And I say that as a shorthand because now we are not at page seven, woohoo.
>>
>>51702918
Besides from turning down a random skin problem, not to say some places there wouldn't have it, you did a piss poor job alluding to it along with being a shit idea. Sorry mate, better luck next time?
>>
>>51702982
It was supposed to be foreshadowing for later. I just felt like answering since it wasnt really a BIG TWIST.
>>
>>51703019
It was a dumb twist that did nothing for the plot, or the character for that matter. M Night Shamalan could do better. Why did you feel the need for a twist like that in the first place?
>>
>>51703264
It's not a twist, its a background detail "Oh kriegers suffer radioactive burns because they live on chernobyl like actual people do." Its not even particurally shocking i dont know why you are so horrified at the idea.

But whatever i'll figure something else out.
>>
>>51703327
>40k>realism
Did you smoke something man?
>>
>>51703373
I got docked on the idea being TOO ridiculous before and now its not ridiculous enough?

I give up.
>>
>>51703416
I cant remember why I am continuing the argument, at this point I'm just fucking around in the cyoa thread. Am just pointing out the poorly thought out scarring thing, you really overestimate the forethought you put into twists like that, while simultaneously overthinking other portions, don't take it too personally, I think its from you doing two different stories at once.
>>
>>51703453
Three. I'm doing three.

And what cyoa thread? Quests a different board.
>>
>>51703476
...the literal cyoa thread. Right here: >>51689467
And sorry for miss counting then, but yeah that probably has something to do with that.
>>
>>51703505
whoosh
>>
>>51703505
...why do we have a cyoa thread if quests are banned? They are the same thing...

And no you wouldnt know since the other story is a quest.

But i dont think thats it, since its not like im actually doing much planning I am just bad at this.
>>
>>51703539
Bit of column a and column b then? Fair enough, as for the thread thing....mods are faggots and so are most people on the subject of choosing a story. Don't know what else to tell you. My other guess is because there is no formulaic writefaggotry and just character creation, or a bit more to whatever extent it may be, means they get a pass, while actual choice adventures are sent to qst because they have a ID system to keep people from double posting, fixing the votes and all that. But that's just my other guess. The CYOA thread doesn't have a singular, well, cyoa to use, and people just use as a place to post character generators and the like, so that could also be a thing.
