I got some Tau stuff this x-mas, so I thought that you guys might enjoy creating a cadre together that I can use for my dudeshttps://1d4chan.org/wiki/Tau_Cadre_Creation_Tables>What Phase was your Sept founded in?(d10)
Rolled 4 (1d10)>>50879966
>>508799872nd Sphere of ExpansionSo we started out as brave pioneers by expaning the Tau Empire>What is the predominant terrain of your homeworld? (d10)
Rolled 8 (1d10)>>50880000Nice quads.
>>50880007Thanks. Anyway, we got:Urban (Any idea on what Urabn means in regards to terrain?)>Which tactical philosophy does your commander prefer?(d10)
Rolled 4 (1d10)>>50880030
>>50880030Urban terrain probably means their home planet is mostly covered in city. Maybe a small planet/planetoid that's used as a manufacturing hub?
>>50880069Mont’ka, the Killing Blow – Study the enemy before attacking its weak point>>50880086Alright, thanks for clearing that up.>Which tactic does your cadre prefer?(d100)
Rolled 36 (1d100)>>50880100
>>50880161Mobile units for rapid strikes and creating confusionFitting with the Mont'Ka.>What is the primary function of your cadre?(d10)
Rolled 8 (1d10)>>50880177rolling
>>50880199Peacekeeping/PolicingOk, that was an interesting roll. Maybe the our sept world was inhabited when we made planetfall and the Tau that arrived became a new world order/police?>What is the Ethereal Caste presence/adherence to Greater Good?(d10)
Rolled 5 (1d10)>>50880210
>>50880210A Tau cadre that has taken over a forgeworld the Imperium forgot about/ doesnt know exists?
>>50880216Normal presence/adherence to Greater GoodOk so nothing special there, moving on!>What is the size of the auxiliaries in the Cadre?(d10)
Rolled 1 (1d10)>>50880231
>>50880236Majority of the Cadre is non-Tau auxiliaryOh that's different. Maybe the Tau have suffered major losses in battles and are drafting natives to fill their ranks untill reinforcements arrives from the core septs?>What is the composition of the auxiliaries?(d20)The composition table might also tell what the natives on this planet are?
Rolled 17 (1d20)>>50880251
>>50880269Majority of auxiliary are Demiurg"Demiurg brootherhood responing..">What is the Cadre's preferred enemy?(d100)
Rolled 57 (1d100)>>50880281Hell yeah!
>>50880287>>50880287OrksOur current enemy is the foul and barbaric Be'Gel. They have no place in the Greater Good.>Who is the leader of your Cadre?(d10)
Rolled 2 (1d10)>>50880317
>>50880327Shas'el - Fire Caste NobleOk, time for the final table>How would characterize your leader?(d10)
Rolled 8 (1d10)>>50880336
>>50880346Res - BarbaricMaybe fighting the Orks and triying to out smart them has had some impressionsd on our Shas'El?
This entire cadre is pants on head insane.
Here is the recap:>Our sept was founded in the 2nd Sphere of Expansion>The terrain of our sept homeworld is Urban>Our commander make use of Mont’ka, the Killing Blow>Our cadre prefer mobile units for rapid strikes and creating confusion>The primary function of the cadre is Peacekeeping/Policing>the Ethereal Caste presence/adherence to Greater Good is Normal>The auxiliaries in the Cadre are a majority compared to Tau forces>These auxiliaries are Demiurg>Our current enemies are the Orks>Our leader is a Shas'el (Fire Caste Noble)>And he is considered Barbaric in his personalityGood job guys, I guess. Now let's fluff them out and give them a name, etc
>>50880417>>And he is considered Barbaric in his personalityI bet he uses swords.Savage.
>>50880455The Shas'El fights in hand to hand combat with sharpened pieces of metal?! How uncivilized..
>>50880417>>These auxiliaries are Demiurg>>Our current enemies are the OrksLockrd combat in asteroid mining facility?
>>50880486What if it's a small planetoid inside a large asteroid belt?
>>50880506I like that idea, and I've looked at some Tau words and found a good name for this sept:>Nars'Kyse (Meaning Rock Belt)Does it fit?
>>50880100That's a big hat.
What should the name of the Shas'El be?
>>50880506How about this? The planetoid and the surrounding asteroid belt were originally inhabited by Demiurg. They got attacked by Orks. The Demiurg couldn't handle them so they asked help from the Tau.
>>50881808Sounds good. Now I am imagining gun lines in narrow corridors waiting for Orks to run down the halls towards them.
>>50881808>>50881824I assume that fire warriors are equipped with pulse carbines rather than pulse rifles?
>>50881824We also have mobile units, too right. How about we give our troops small and fast vehicles to move from asteroid to asteroid?
>>50881847Drones, a lot of them.
>>50881856I was imagining those torpedo looking things the divers use. But like for space. We could combine it with your idea and have drones accompany the troops. To justify it, we can add that Demiurg had this system where they attached multiple asteroids together with bridges. Some bridges need to have these vehicles to pass. In some cases, the station are too messed up (blown up, and then 'fixed' by the Orks) for standard vehicles to approach.
>>50881906I like that idea. Drones can also be sent off to scout the ork infested areas of the connected rocks. But we still need to come up with to why our leader is barbaric.
>>50881941Someone suggested that fighting Orks made him/her to annoyed. That might be a factor. But we also got police. So how about this? Tau were able to repel the Orks from the planetoid and major stations/asteroids. Given the nature of the combat, it will take a long time to clean the area from Orks. So there is pseudo-martial law imposed on the Demiurg and the few Tau settlers. Plus given that transport to and from the planetoid is hard, things have to be rationed. In this situation, sometimes it might be necessary to use force. Force which some might consider excessive.
Rolled 1 (1d2)>>50881982So what should we name the leader.I was thinking something in the line of: "Wrathful Tactician" or maybe even go for something funny like for example: "Fire Hazard"I am rolling a d2 to determine the gender. 1 = Male, 2 = Female
>>50882219http://commanderfarsight.deviantart.com/art/Tau-English-Dictionary-164979522Here is a dictionary of Tau words and phrases we can use that to name our stuff.
>>50882219So male it is. How about we give "Fire Hazard" as a nickname given by his men. For example, in a battle, he ignited the hydroponics portion of a station (which Orks repurposed to grow Orks). Well it turns out he over-trusted Orkish engineering, and it created a bigger fire than thought. He station is intact. The station had facilities that produced promethium and oxygen which continue to feed the fire
>>50882219>>50882274>>50882307How about that his real name is:>Elan'Ro'NonIt means Stubborn Sword. Just an idea...
>>50882392Instead of Non it should be Nan
How about we give our commander and his lieutenants a special suit. I was thinking a suit that were capable of surviving and moving in space for sometime. They also have improved sensors that let them see through walls for sometime.Maybe the general firepower of the suits is lower but we could give them sniper-type cannon, and a few smaller rockets.
>>50882569Why not have hazard suits. They are made with close quarters and void fighting in mind
>>50882595That could work. There is two reasons I didn't choose them. 1. I wanted to have the look of a giant robot with a giant sniper rifle. 2. We rolled for 2nd Sphere of Expansion. So there wouldn't have been hazard suits yet (I think).
>>50882690Also, I feel like having hazard suits would make us too sophisticated, which goes against the rationing and stuff we talked about above.
>>50882690>>50882710Well, maybe we have one hazardsuit reserved for the commander
>>50882784Okay. How about we do 1 hazard suit for the commander? The rest of the lieutenants that have battle suits had their modified by the Demiurg and the earth caste to resemble what I described above.
>>50881982How about this; ork warbosses, for some reason, especially like the asteroids in that particular field for their roks, so they periodically show up to shop around for someSo the demiurge miners that mine there need some extra protection from the ork raiders that appear there, so they called the tauNow the tau periodically comb the asteroid belt with extensive help from drones and the demiurge in order to eliminate pockets of meks and roks that are still in the field, as well as to repel the warbosses that occasionally show up.
>>50883330Demiurg are supposed to be like Dwarves, right? So I was thinking that they'd have extensive tunnels on the planet and the asteroids some of which are moon-size. So cleaning these parts isn't easy. Plus, the resources and equipment there is very valuable so they have to be careful. Also, it would be intresting if Demiurg had hydroponic garden, which were then stolen by the Orks. Now those facilities are being used to grow Orks faster. We could mix this your idea where the Orks in this belt are part of a bigger faction which periodically send reinforcements.
>>50879966https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhXCQFxGqMM THREAD THEME
>>50883444Right, so we have the ork faction which is based in the asteroid belt that they stole from the demiurgThen planet-side are the demiurg and the tau that are attempting to push the orks off-planet and eventually take back the asteroids the orks are squatting onthe asteroids had many useful facilities like hydroponics gardens that allowed the demiurg to stay on the asteroids essentially indefinitely which the orks now use to get more orks and grots and such.
>>50883474https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3WJDKiushk I should of posted this as well if I was posting the tau theme.
>>50883512I'm imagining a Dark Crusade-like map where the orks are based in an asteroid-field and tau and demiurg are based on spots on the planet belowWould it be taboo to have more enemies around for the tau and their auxiliaries to face? Like, could we roll for more?
>>50883512More or less. Although, keep in mind that the size difference between the planet and asteroids isn't too big. Some even almost share an atmosphere.>>50883540What do you have in mind?
>>50883540Well, more threats that show up a lot, or are just aroundlike there's a warpgate around that the DE like to use to raid sometimes or chaos cults like to pop up in the system due to the machinations of tzeentchMake this a system that our sept controls, but fights with several factions over
Oh wait we need to roll for the ork clan in the areahttps://1d4chan.org/wiki/Ork_Klan_Creation_TablesNow what kinda boyz are we dealing with here
Rolled 5 (1d10)>>50883906Rollan for Klan or freeboota
>>50884160right, looks like a propa klan, now for their colors, roll 1d100
Rolled 22 (1d100)>>50884198
>>50884234Green iz best, we got some really orky boyz infesting our asteroid belt, do they get a legendary git or no?
Rolled 4 (1d10)>>50884253D10 I guess?
>>50884277These boys had one hell of a Warbossnow what'd he do? 1d100
Rolled 30 (1d100)>>50884296
>>50884311>Krumped loads o' spiky 'umieshe smashed those chaos boys, a good an' propa' krumpin
>>50884325Which of the gods does he like, Gork or Mork?
Rolled 4 (1d10)>>50884338
>>50884341Mork iz bestNow how many boyz do they have? Having a lot would make sense given that they apparently have the hydroponics gardens to refresh their losses easily1d10
>>50883330>ork warbosses, for some reason, especially like the asteroids in that particular field for their roks> Tau/demiurgs want the belt for their resources> Orks just like the literal rock for no discernible reasons
Rolled 10 (1d10)>>5088436510 get!
>>50884372Hell yes, so many fucking boyz, like holy shit there are just to goddamn many of them how will they even get anywhere
>>50884370It's very ork-like, isn't it?
>>50884370they like the roks cause the roks are rockinliterally. The acoustic qualities make their rokk n rolla musik louda.
>>50884392As good a reason as any for orks to fight over something
>>50884383They won't, hence the problem
>>50884405well hopefully they aren't too big, else our boys in blue will have some trouble getting them out1d8 for ork size
Rolled 6 (1d8)>>50884421
>>50884421I hope tau are rolled as "allies"...
>>50884421nah m8, if they're too big they just wont fit in the asteroid tunnelsOrks held off cause they're too tall for the void bridges between rocks
>>50884450That would be hilarious
>>50884448>'Are boys are da roight and proppa size boss!Right, now who are their "allies"? 1d100
Rolled 94 (1d100)>>50884462Tau get!
>>50884475Fucking fantasticWait, it also says Necrons for that roll tooWhich is it? https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Ork_Klan_Creation_Tables
>>50884475>91-95 Da puny but shooty blueboyzTau Got.
>>50884475>>50884489I say we go with Necrons. And can someone fix that error in the table?
>>50884508Okay so what the fuck does that mean? These are specifically the enemies of the sept we created, so what the fuck?
>>50884475YES!To the orks, the whole thing is a game: they have to rush a big rock, install their rockets and maybe some other stuff on it and fuck off before their unwilling game partner stop them. It's a called rok an'roll. To them tau just make the whole thing more fun and exciting.
>>50884527Civil War, obviously.Neither faction is allies with the Orks, but the Orks don't care. They'll help/attack either. Glorious 3 way clusterfuck
>>50884489What if an ore in the rocks is something the Necrons want? The orks are freebootas aren't they?So maybe the necrons hired the Orks go clean the Demiurg, then the Tau got involved. Then the Orks found the hydroponics and decided to stay.
>>50884527The tau consider the ork their worst enemy. The orks consider the tau sparring-partner.
>>50884561Ok, so to the orks, this system is a free-for-allWhoever gets to their rok and installs the rokkets on it gets to keep it, while others fight over partailly constructed roks and the tau with the demiurg are just trying their damnedest to get the fuckers off their asteroids and failingOrks love this system, there's always a fight to be had, so they come in huge numbersThe only reason they haven't overrun the system is that it's not why they are there in the first place, and that they are fighting each other as much if not more than the tau
>>50884561Nah Civil war isn't really the Tau way>inb4 FarsightTau do not like killing other Tau so without a real serious proper cause and sanction from the Ethereals it won't happen
>>50884582Unfortunately they are a propa Klan, so no that probably wouldn't workthat would also be an alliance almost as strange as blood angles and necrons
>>50884626Wait how does being a propa Klan and being a Freeboota work?Anyway, how about this? The 'crons manipulated the Orks go their and wreck someshit.
>>50884614>Implying I give a fuckTHE DICE HAVE SPOKENTHE GALAXY IS A HUGE PLACETHIS IS 40K, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.SHASLA BURNS SHIT HAS GONE ROGUE WITH THIS DEMIURG CLAN, MAYBE THEY EVEN WANNA JOIN FARSIGHT
>>50884527Maybe that is what makes the Tau commander a savage. He has recruited some of the Orks to his command, maybe by killing a warboss in single combat, so now a portion of them now follow him.
>TRYING TO PUSH BORING ASS 'CRONS OVER TAU CIVIL WARAUTISTIC SCREECHINGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>50884646Well, being Freeboota means that they are ork pirates and are willing to do work for pay in weapons. They also tend to use these weapons against the people that hire themA propa Klan just wants to fight, and isn't likely to engage in diplomacy of any kind unless its to say how much of gits their enemy isThere is a likely-hood of alliance table, in which I believe that necrons and orks are only allies come the apocalypse
>>50884652that would be fucking awesome, ork auxiliaries as part of a tau sept
>>50884682Okay. Cheers. So how about we have the Orks be manipulated by the 'Crons?
>>50884651The dice said this:> The tau worst enemy are ork> The ork allies are tauNo civil war implied, simply an... asymmetrical relationship? See >>50884606Another possibility is to have the tau recruit orks to fight other orks.
>>50884711remember how Stormboys used to be like, disciplined rebellious orks who adopted regimented culture to say FUCK YOU DAAADDWhat if thats what we have hereOrk Auxulliary Stormboys going through their rebellious phase by joining the greater good
>>50884737What if we have a whole GoT situation? The influx of New Orks caused by the hydroponics have caused chaos and disunity amongst the Orks.
>>50884741Or they believe they are following the biggest Warboss around, just so happens that this one is blue instead of green, after all this Cadre has suffered heavy losses so they need all the help they can get.
>>50884715Ok so, how about this,This system is a Demiurg Mining colony and has an urban, highly populated world in it. The Demiurg mine the asteroids for a valuable ore that is fairly unique. Orks also love this system, because of the fights that happen over the roks in the asteroid belt as well as the roks themselves. They flock there in huge numbers and fight everyone all the live-long day for their shitty roks.'Crons in a nearby system look to this system because there is an inactive tomb complex beneath the urban world that they want control over. The lord, a particularly sane and wily leader, hired freebootas to soften up all the players in the system so they can swoopin later and clean house. The tau and demiurg are thus-far unaware of teh Necron scheme and are simply trying to uproot a particularly nasty ork infestation
>>50884782And they think he's the biggest because they think his Hazard suit is his actual body, like a Killa Kan or Ork Dred
>>50884842There could be a small breakaway cadre of orks that follow the "big blue git" instead of a traditional orkier boss. There are an absolute shittonne of orks in this system
> Orks take over big asteroids to make roks> Tau try to stop them> Other orks sometime do too, entually paid by the tau to do so> Some newborn orks join the tau, whether the tau want it or not, because fuck you dad, dakka is the future> Tau commander said fuck it, I will take it. Pull a Yarrick playing over orks mindset on his methods and appearance. Is considered a savage for it.> Demiurgs just wanted to mine their stuff...
>>50884871So do necrons appear in this at all?We can still say that they aren't directly interfering, just that they are hiring freebootas to soften em up
>>50884934Or maybe ork freebootas were raiding their own planet, and rather than exterminate them, the necrons just paid them to fight somewhere else
>>50884871Orks and Tau are fighting a chaotic war, all while Necrona and Demiurgs just awkwardly looks at the each other then back to the fight
Should we continue with the ork creation table?
>>50884871> "Hey MechaBoss! We built some pusla shoota!"> "How did you... wait... you painted the munitions stock neon blue, right?"> "PULSA SHOOTA!"I can't into ork speech.
>>50884988Ah, yeah, sorrygot distracted by fluff1d100 for enemies
Rolled 88 (1d100)>>50885012
>>50884988Well, we need to roll necron as their worst enemy I guess...
>>50885015>Da pointy-hed, pointy-arms, pointy-errythin' emoboyzguessing this means DE?
>>50885026Great, just what we needed, the most unnecessary player to show up and make this any more complicated or retarded
>>50885043Do we just want to retcon it to Necrons? Or are the dice gods chiefest of all here?
>>50885026> DE party enter real space to spread terror among the lesser beings.> See a mad tau commander leading firing squad of orks in rank against laughing orks building reakctor on lifeless rocks.> Some demiurgs still mine things trying hard to pretend nothing is happening be strong Rugnir, be strong.> A somehow tired necron lord is sitting in the distance, his head in his hands.> "..."> "Ok, forget the terror thing, let's just take stuff and leave."
>>50885100Let's retcon it to Necrons. Hell, let's make a rule where the only faction that are allowed are the Tau, Orks, Necrons, and Demiurg.
>>50885261DICE GODS REEEEEEEEE
>>50885261Yeah, Necrons make more sense with the fluff we've got so far
>>50885293We are not ignoring the dice gods. We are simply helping them in creating something better.
>>50885100>>50885321>>50885336But what if there especially pointy Necrons?
BTW did we name our commander?
>>50885354>>50885360Makes sense to meShasla Burns'hit
>>50885378No wait, Ork'es'ka
>>50885321> Necrons are looking for something among the asteroid belt, something still sleeping... for now.> Ork got it off system in a space hulk without even noticing.>>50884741How would they be called in tau?Be'vesa?
>>50885544Be'vesa and the Buttheads
>>50885544Where's that tau rank thing? anyone got a link?
>>50885617http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tau_LexiconI just combined the word for ork (Be'gel) and gue'vesa.
>>50885544ok so he's a fire caste noble, which means he is an El
>>50885697Does that mean he's El'Be'vesa?
>>50885721Or would it be Shas'Be'El?
>>50885770Wait shit we didn't finish rolling for the orks1d10 for the type boyz they got
Rolled 4 (1d10)>>50885778
>>50885829Lotsa choppy boyz
>>50885841Also what they've looted, 1d100
>>50885829>Choppy Boyz I guess. Make sense in confined areas.Though Mekboyz would have worked for building roks, Storm Boyz for the Grooter goods, and grots because they're in the walls.
>>50885890>grots in the walls>They mostly come at night>mostly
>>50885909Urist we are far from the star. It is always night here.
>>50885890Lets face it with the amount of Orks in the area there are more then enough for everyone to get a fair share.
Rolled 5 (1d100)>>50885880it'd be funny if they got crisis suits
>>50886016Well shit, these are some poor-ass orks
>>50886029Maybe they get off as soon as they have enough stuff to make a rok?
alright, thats all the rolls for the orks with no lootDo we want to roll for the necrons?
>>50886157Okay, let's do this. Using this table: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Necron_Army_Creation_Tables> Roll for Original Side in the Necrontyr Secession Wars
>>50886205Sorry roll d10
Rolled 3 (1d10)>>50886205Alright, fine by me
>>50886225 You got:> (Unification) Fought independently to bring honor to the kingdom. Roll d10 for side in War in Heaven
Rolled 1 (1d10)>>50886246
>>50886246> side before the War in HeavenShit I am bad at this.
>>50886256huh, makes sense given this lord's craftinessnow who do they hate most? roll 1d10
>>50886256You fought for the deceiver.> Roll d10 for hated enemies.
Rolled 1 (1d10)>>50886277hoping for tau
>>50886283You hate anyone who challenge the Dynasty’s supremacy. Given the position of the dynasty, that is the Orks and the Tau.> Roll d10 for mental damage
>>50886301wait I thought 1 was Necrons that cling to the old ways?
>>50886316Shit I am bad at this. Can someone take over?
Rolled 1 (1d10)>>50886325It's fine, but we do need to roll for metal damageAlso 1 is Oldcrons
>>50886325>https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Necron_Army_Creation_TablesHere is the table for Necrons
>>50880767>nars'kyseThe orcs have adopted and mangled that name into "Nice Kiss" or "Noice Kits"
>>50886380I like it
Rolled 6 (1d10)>>50886347
>>50886347Right so these necrons have...>Obsessed with either returning to the sensations and freedom of the flesh or embracing the ultimate strength of metal, leading to a galaxy wide search for a perfect vessel and a way to escape their own.
>>50886438Oh sorry, guess they have...>No memory of past at all but still sentient. Struggle to come to terms with new identity.
Should we make a 1d4chan page for this cadre?
>>50886488I'm in favor of it, but I don't know how to do thatSo I leave it to you bold anon
>>50886438Need to roll their objectives, its a 1d100 roll
Rolled 15 (1d100)>>50886595
>>50886605Their objective is that they are...>Helping the fractured C'tan in achieving unfathomable and dangerous schemes, possibly freeing shards to fuse them into a complete C'tan. That might be what they are fighting for in this asteroid belt, a c'tan shard
>>50886652Damn, this is one fucked up asteroid belt
>>50886702Could someone do a summary?
>>50886702Or if you're a Ork; one hell of a party
>>50886793Well that's why there's so goddamned many of them. Its like an unofficial waagh
Anyone still here??
>>50886787> Nars'Kyse, initially a Demiurg Urban planet or planetoid with a rich asteroids belt> multiple asteroids may have been connected with bridges by the Demiurg> Orks infest the belt in great number, mostly regular choppy boys, Demiurg call tau for help> Orks make runs to convert big asteroids into roks (rok an'roll!) because they sound great, tau are just additional challenge to them, they kind of like them for that> Orks tend to leave when they got enough stuff to make a roks, leaving mostly "poor" orks behind> Captured Demiurg space hydroponic gardens have been converted into ork spore-farms> Tau force are adept of Mont’ka, preferring mobile units for rapid strikes and creating confusion. Also drones.> Lead by Shas'el Elan'Ro'Nan "Fire Hazard", using a hazard suit> Ultimately he resorted to hire orks against other orks> He somehow end up being some sort of boss for young rebellious stormboys (Be'vesa), as they believe he IS his suit, that he may have modified to look more orky> He gained a savage reputation among both orks and tau that way> Necron may be involved, hiring freebootas, as there may be something more sinister in the belt: a sleeping ctan shard?> Independent dynasty, fought for the Deceiver in his time, hate old ways necrons.> We rolled DE as orks worst enemies but dropped it.I guess that's it.Humans? Kroots? Local fauna? Details on the Demiurgs?
I imagine El'burninator issues a proclamation along the lines of "Burning with Success: Concerning Questions of the Collectice Defensive Movement" to explain to his cadre, the demiurges, his superiors and his Blueboyz Orkz what the hell is going on in Nars'kyse and why everyone should just trust him
>>50887742Now that makes me wonder how a Tau would make a suit so it looked like something a Ork would do.
>>50887742>Kroots?Maybe the orks could come for a forest/jungle world in the same system?Poor in resources, orks start as feral orks until they find a way/are recruited to the asteroids belt, from where they hope to build a rock out of the system. Kind of an initiatory voyage. In response, kroots have started colonizing that ork planet.
>>50887742Demiurgs are basically space dwarfs. They do dwarfy shit, hi-ho-hi-ho and all that. They never got models, but they have ships in Battlefleet Gothic. Not sure if they've got art of them at all, to be honest. I think they were created in response to fans asking for squats.
>>50887742No humans, since we rolled noneKroot probably aren't present in significant numbers. Tau forces are mostly blueberries, huge numbers of the demiurge pressed into combat roles, and some orks here and there. The whole conflict is being fought on a shoestring budget so all resources are locked down under fire caste controlDemiurg are probably sad and resigned to getting shot up by an ork in a hallway on some rock they used to mine. No one likes Fire Hazard anymore, even if he's there to help
>>50888483How about we make Fire Hazard into a Tragic Hero? Like from a greek tragedy? Does anybody know any good story we can base on?
>>50888551I was thinking more Stalin-like
>>50887742I have small proposition to make. What if we said that the Nar'Kyse and debris around it used to be a planet? Demiurg decided to mine it and Death Stared it. Planet had an ore with certain magnetic properties so the debris tends to stay close to each other, but at the same time it stays away. The biggest piece became the main hub for the Demiurg with stations on others. The ore in question is also the reason the Nekrons are interested in the planet.
>>5088864940k is chockfull with Stalins.
>>50888551I kind of like the idea of Fire hazard getting more "connected" with the Orks as time goes on. At first it was just scuffing up his armor to look the part, then it turn into sharing a squigbeer with the boyz every once in a while, and now you can find him with a Choppa in hand screaming into melee with the rest of them.
>>50888700How a story like this sound? Fire Hazard starts off as a noble hero. Good warrior, good husband, Good Tau etc. He volunteer to command the force that is to be sent to Nar'Kyse as nobody else wants to. Because he puts the Greater Good before personnel safety or politics. He arrive at Nar'Kyse Alpha (the place where the main city is) right before it is about to fall. He personally kills several major lieutenants of the local war-boss. He fights a few battles. In one of these battles, he blows up part of a station and this causes a perpetual fire. This is how he gets his name. At one point, he is captured by an Ork Klan. A mercenary Klan. He challenges the boss to single Kombat. During the Kombat, he sets the boss on fire. He convinces the Orks to let him go, and then returns with soldiers. He kills most, but captures a few alive. His philosophy is to study before striking. So he decides to learn from these Orks. Eventually he recruits a few of the boyz because Greater Good. The conflict continues. Some stuff happens, loses a lot of men. He even has to execute some civilians. At one point, the periodic convoy is lost. They were reinforcements plus material. He hires some Orks, for the Greater Good. He tries to understand the Orks. He becomes more violent. He is more willing to sacrifice. For the Greater Good.
>>50888551>>50888894>Fire Hazard is Alexander the Great-lite>keeps pushing farther and farther with fewer and fewer men so he starts picking up locals to help him fight as he adopts more of their culture >also a fire cate noble>probably keeps his few fire warriors under his direct command as a strike force to shore up flagging demmy units, like the companion cavalryHow can a warrior of the greater good turn away finite weapons when threats to peace and order are infinite? Here is your Greek hero
>>50884475>Orks just want to fight Demiurg>they avoid Tau>they would actually find diffrent target if most of army facing them were tau>Tau have to make most of their forces from Demiurg to field proper numbers unaware of this
>>50885022Enemies table has the same error. So Tau would have just been both allies and enemies.
>>50885360'E's Warboss Shazzo, o'course, you right runty git. Krumpen all dem spikey 'umies is why 'e's da boss.
>>50888700If the Orks background psychics make what they believe into a reality, and they believe Shazzel is is an Ork Warboss...
Can someone make a 1d4chan page?
>>50891348Would love toI have no idea how to do that
>>50891652Give me a name for the Cadre and I will do it. Something like Nars'Kyse Mobile defense force?
>>50891739That's perfect, does the cadre justice
>>50891739Dancing Blades of Protection
>>50891794Hmmm. Do we any example of Tau Cadre names?I kinda thought that they would have simplistic and functional names.
>>50891784I think I am also going to shorten it as Nars'kyse MDF.
I just noticed that we didn't give proper names to most of the stuff. Here is a list quick list of things to be named:> The commander> The Ork Klan and potentially the initial warboss. > Nekron dynasty (Actually I think it would be better if we re-rolled that one. It is bit of a mess)> The demiurg brotherhood(s) the cadre is helping. Those are the ones I think of. Feel free to suggest names.
>>50892064I assume there must be multiple brotherhoods to provide enough people to make an impromptu army to fight orksHere's some names>Atrfog>Lubrucks>Bexatones>FugorksAlso wiki says Demiurge hate orks with fury like fantasy doffs, and are prolly proud to fight them. Yet Fire Hazard is getting orky. Wat do?
>>50892340>Also wiki says Demiurge hate orks with fury like fantasy doffs, and are prolly proud to fight them. Yet Fire Hazard is getting orky. Wat do?Red Wedding?
>>50892064I say we ditch Necrons altogether. The only reason Crons came up at all is because Tau and Crons occupy the same rolls on two of the charts. I think we coulda picked between them, instead of picking both.
>>50892564Yeah. You are right. It is also very cliché to have orks act as an opener to a bigger evil. I say we get rid of necrons. How about we have a the klan(s) in the field be a part of a WAAGH? It would be more interesting to see a more intelligent side to orks.
>>50892064>the initial warboss.Zargug Hedchoppa. Known for requiring his boyz to bring back the heads of enemies they killed to prove they weren't a bunch of lazy gits.
>>50893162I like it
>>50893162what do they do wit the heads afterwards? Do they just toss em out an airlock?
>>50894924Duh, they obviously play bowling with them.
Is the 1d4chan page up yet?
i fink da blu skinz are sleepin....we willz invade da threaddis be a goffz thread now !
>>50895768Hold it right there Be'gel scum!
>>50895785drokk !!wez beanz spotted !gotsa go to plan bzWAAAGH !!!!DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA...
>>50892564I agree. Also, the idea of Orks allied to the Tau whilst also great enemies is hilarious.>>50893162Maybe he could've ditched the system on the roks with all the nice loot, but he decided to stay because the fights going on were actually fun. That'd also explain why his Orks are poor, because all the good stuff has already gone and there's loads of boyz anyway, so what little loot left is being stretched thin. He doesn't mind though, he just wants heads to roll.
>>50892564That's understandable. But I may have another way to introduce necrons though, using >>50888654The blasted planet was a tomb world and necrons were fucked but can still be found in its various remains.Sometime you dig a rock and necrons came out of it and murder everything they can see but no high ranking necron is there to make a real army out of them, so they remain simple murderbots. Maybe the dynasty command were blasted with the planet, maybe they are still sleeping somewhere as their tomb dysfunctioned. That make them more critters than an actual army I suppose, but that avoid the "orks distract us from a bigger threat!" thing. And about orks, wouldn't it make sense the system to be close to a big waaagh? Orks want to build roks and get of system because they are compelled to join a big waaagh a few stars away. Hence why they are relatively poor and without really big boss despite their numbers: the best orks tend to leave. The be'vesa stormboys would rebel not only against their chaotic nature but also against that calling. "Don't tell me what to do!"And to the tau, the whole thing would be a operation to weaken the waaagh as much as it is helping their demiurg allies. It may even be a Kauyon trap. Such a peripheral strategy wouldn't match well with the Mont’ka philosophy of our commander, but have been decided above him. It may even have frustrated him, pushing him toward... unorthodox methods like using orks.
I feel like writing some fluffBa'Nov'Ke stared out the window in one of the many Demiurg "walkways" that connected the many giant asteroids and planetoids in Nars'Kyse, the bright orange sun in the distance flared with a mighty blaze, much like her heart did for the Tau Empire, and the Greater Good. She had served under "Fire Hazard" as a Shas'ui for a squad of 6 fire warriors for some time now. During her time here they have made their bonds and are as close as family. She could count on them, she always has.Ba'Nov'Ke and her squad stood by an airlock door, the floor around them was covered in greenskin blood and corpses, probably a few weeks old by now.Her squad was tasked with securing a small hangar, large enough for an Ocra transport to land in, and would serve as a beachhead to reclaimg this asteroid. She swiped her hand across the door panel on the side and rose her pulse carbine up, luckily the hallway on the other side was empty - for now. As they made their way towards the hangar she saw the ramshackle work of the Orks. Crude symbols, blood and odd contraptions littered the many corridors and rooms along the way. They needed to move fast, who knew when a group of Orks would come down the hallway and pin them down. After a while she and her squad came across two arguing Orks, but with a few short bursts from her squad's carbines they both fell to the floor with heavy "thuds".Ba'Nov'Ke looked at the digital map on her wrist and they were close, really close, it was just around this corner. But as they moved up towards the hangar entrance they heard a loud booming voice comming down from another hallway; "Oi, boyz! Looks like we'z got some intrudahs, get 'em!".After a long firefight Ba'Nov'Ke's squad managed to make it through the door and into the hangar, keeping the orks out...for now.Thoughts?
>>50896029I liked it, but it also reminded me. What are our sept colours?
>>50895848>the idea of Orks allied to the Tau whilst also great enemies is hilarious.> Fire Hazard thought he had dealt the Killing Blow by killing Zargug Hedchoppa (who's last wish was for his head to be hold high)> But it was too bold of a move, he had to venture too far into orks territory to achieve that and resolve to die having beheaded the orks> Instead orks just accept him as their new boss, thinking his suicide mission was quite cool.> "Shas'el, we're surrounded. What do we do?"> "... put your loudspeaker to the maximum, everyone with me!"> "WAAAAAAAAAGH!"Or maybe he could have pulled an iron man, using and ork tech to repair is suit, justifying an ork-looking suit?
>>50896064>to repair is suitI ain't no Earth Caste
>>50896029we iz regroupin..we iz movin upz da big gunz...
>>50896054Probably urban and industrial looking, unless the asteroids have bright colours.Except the commander strike force, which is greener.>>50896085This isn't the Imperium, everyone has some tech knowledge. I'm just looking for an excuse for a Crisis with Power Klaw.
How should we structure the 1d4chan page?
>>50898192I like the organisation of Hua Yuan extreminators:https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Hua_Yuan_Exterminators
>>50898240Let's go with that then
>>50898306I do not have tine to work on it now. I do this afternoon. In the mean time, can someone get started?
>>50898351I would like to but I am going to be busy for a couple of hours so unfortunatly I cannot
I added a paragraph to the 1d4chan page. What do you think?
>>50900984Where? I don't see any changes.
>>50901062I don't see it unless I go into the page history, odd...
Is anyone still here?
>>50901758Any ideas on fluff to add?
>>50901854I was thinking of a cool way to give the commander his nickname. Something along the lines of this:> Routine mission cleaning a station. > A particularly big one, with a large hydroponics garden. > The commander (in his hazard suit) and his lieutenants (in their crisis suits) are placed on asteroids around the station to provide long range fire support.> The initial mission is to retake the station. They find the orks using the garden, so the mission becomes destroys the garden then retake station. > It turns out that it is a trap. There are thousands of Orks in there. The communications are jammed. So he can't pull back his forces (and most of his forces are there.) > Shas'El decides to go to the station and his suit is only one fast enough to go there. He crashes in saving a Tau squad with a few Demiurg allies at the last minute. He kills a few orks with the squad. He orders the squad to fall back. He leaves his suit to prime a bomb to destroy. Orks are shooting. One of the soldiers in squad refuses to leave, so Shas kicks him (this is in 0-G). > The squad drag the soldier back, and then KABOOM. They go out and a giant robot emerges from the flames.I am not good at writing stories so if someone who is better wants to they can.
>>50880177>all dem tau bunched up nice and neat for us>FIRE!
Is this a good colour for the Nars'Kyse sept?
>>50902398I just threw it together in roughly 10 minutes or so.
>>50902398Seems good. We can add to the fluff that the explosion caused the Shas'El suit to get a darker (and more Orkish) green.
>>50902413That is really fast. Did you use a template or something? Could you try a more blueish scheme? (if it isn't too much of a bother.)
>>50902441What parts do you want blue? The armour or the soft part, or both?
>>50902441How's this? I made the armour more light blue-ish and the soft parts more wine/dark red
>>50902596Perfect. Can I put it on the page?
>>50902607Sure, go ahead
>>50902596Would be cool to see someone painting their dudes in this color scheme
Can someone draw a crisis suit with a single really big sniper rifle-like gun? (I know it is a bit weebish, I am watching Gundam right now)
>>50902847Maybe do a refernce picture and ask on the drawthread? Maybe some kind Anon is up to it?
Rolled 2 (1d2)What about the Ethereal? Should we give him or her some fluff as well?Rolling a d2 to determine the gender. 1 = Male, 2 = Female
>>50902991So we got a chick making sure we burn too much shit. Roll d100 for her age.
Rolled 9 (1d100)>>50903030I say we add +20 years if it get's below 20, just so don't get a toddler leading us
>>50903050>> I say we add +20 years if it get's below 20, just so don't get a toddler leading usCan you imagine being controlled by a 9 year old as our leader? So we have a 29 year old Ethereal as our advisor/boss kinda thing. Wait is she responsible for us or for the whole system? I think it makes better sense for her to be only our boss.
>>50903030>>50903050I got an idea for a name to her:>Eoro'Shas'kaIt means Guide (or Guiding) StarSo her full name would be:>Aun'Nars'Kyse'Eoro'Shas'ka
>>50901854Extend on demiurg will be cool, but we know next to nothing about them canonically.Maybe some landmarks (or spacemarks)? A space hulk? Grav-less gunkata? Canon delivery services?Maybe something on non-fire cast tau?Somehow, we rolled a "Normal Ethereal Caste presence/adherence to Greater Good". So I guess Fire Hazard actions may actually be sanctioned or at least tolerated by the ethereal.Chill ethereal?Maybe we can have an water caste expert on ork culture seconding Fire hazard. He would sceptically bring academic knowledge while Fire Hazard knows them as a warrior.Earth caste would either work tightly with the demiurg or on the contrary specialise in what they can't do, like suits.Air caste would be pretty important in such an environment, and they will need to be pretty good to navigate between asteroids to deliver the fire caste to their objectives or to shoot down fully functional roks.
>>50903130Feel too long for a name. >>50903244Well the demis already blew up a planet. That sounds like a landmark to me. We rolled for a 29 year old Ethereal. Maybe she is a radical in the way she approaches the greater good.
>>50903488>Feel too long for a nameThat's just if you want the full name of a Tau, becuase the full name includes; Rank-sept-personal name
>>50903244>Canon delivery servicesAlways wanted to do Hyperion-tau, for some reason. Maybe colours.
>>50880417Your cadre should just be a bunch of orcs in disguise as tau
>>50879966lol, thread's still not dead. Have a bump on me.
>>50905579I am the guy who made the 1d4chan page. I am going to sleep. Feel free to create more fluff or stuff like that.
