Rolled 8 (1d20)

Alright, we're going to be using this,

roll table. This should be more interesting than fleshing out the nth Space Marine Chapter and Imperial Guard Regiment

I'll start off our vile heresy by rolling for the cult's origins!
>>
>>50751016

OK, it looks like we're a sect of

> Primal Devotees: These cults form around an aspect of their surroundings or environment. This might be such elemental aspects as the burning flame, life-sustaining water, an essential native vegetation, the primordial darkness, or even the unending depths of space.

Now, one of you neckbeards roll for our Cult Ideology!
>>
Rolled 13 (1d20)

>>50751016

OP, you're a faggot and a heretic.
>>
>>50751110

At least one of those things is true. So we're
based around,

> Zealotry in Misplaced Idols: The cult worships various idols. These can range in origin from forbidden archaeotech, chaos artifacts or xenos gear.

Combined with the primal devotee aspect of the cult, this seems to be quite an odd cult...
>>
>>50751134

Shit, forgot. Roll 1d100 for cult leadership type.
>>
Rolled 60 (1d100)

>>50751147
I Cant wait to see where this goes
>>
>>50751170

Well that's, interesting to say the least. Apparently this cult abides by,

> Strict Military Hierarchy: The cult bases its structure on an imitation of the Imperium's military ranking systems.

Someone roll a 1d20 for the Cult Leadership's nature.
>>
Rolled 20 (1d20)

>>50751185
>>
Aww YIS heresy
>>
>>50751207

*stares at screen**blinks rapidly* WELL THEN. This cult's leader is,

> Something Else: (same as above) Whatever the leadership is, it is neither human-derived, xenos, nor daemonic, but a rare (and often unique) other. Known examples have included Abominable Intelligences (from the Dark Age of Technology or newer) and cosmic phenomena. The Inquisition is liable to label the entity itself as an Obscuro-type threat.

Leftover Age of Strife AI, anyone?

Roll 1d10 for the Cult's Leadership Style.
>>
Rolled 5 (1d10)

>>50751207
>Primal
>Misplaced idols
>Obscura type leadwr

Now things are getting interesting

I vote for a machine intelligence on an abandoned forge world that has enslaved the humans in a grim parody of the already grim parody that is the admech
>>50751279
>>
>>50751279
>>
>>50751301
Wait shit
>>
>>50751293

The Cult Leadership uses

> Force of Arms: Using his own personal strength or even psychic powers, the leader rules all around him with displays of brute force and physical intimidation.

to keep its followers in line.
>>
Rolled 9 (1d10)

>>50751279
At this point im just picturing a leftover age of strife AI assigned to ecology duty going crazy and forming a millitaristic druid cult.
>>
>>50751314
What is wrong with me?
>>
Rolled 3 (1d6)

>>50751315
OP you are a goddamn fag and you know it you beautiful la la prancing homo man
>>
Rolled 10 (1d10)

>>50751332
WHY CAN"T I ROLL
>>
>>50751293
>>50751279
corrupted terraforming AI. the cultists are the descendants of an IG regiment that mustered out and were given ownership of the planet as a reward for some glorious campaign lost to the veil of ancient history.
>>
>>50751356
oh good
>>
Shit, forgot to post, roll 1d6 for amount of Equipment and Identification rolls.

>>50751333

This is the only valid roll, so I suppose the cult receives 3 Equipment and Identifier rolls. Roll 1d2 and 1d10 you faggots!
>>
>>50751394

Oh shit, nevermind, roll 1d2! If 1, roll 1d20, if 2, roll 1d10!
>>
Rolled 1 (1d2)

I guess I'll start for the first!
>>
Rolled 5 (1d20)

>>50751426
>>
>>50751394
>>50751407
Wait, what? Shouldn't we roll 3d20?
>>
>>50751441

OK, when possible, the Cult prefers to use,

> Brutal Weaponry: When forced to action, the cult uses simple, direct weaponry. Heavy axes, huge mauls, and similar weapons are common. More advanced armaments follow similar trends, with chainswords, autoguns, and bolt weapons being preferred when accessible.

1/3, 2 more rolls left!
>>
>>50751453
So do we roll.another 1d2, or just d20s?
>>
>>50751446

No, check the link. We're at Equipment and Identifiers of the Cult. We rolled a 3 for the quantity of rolls. The 1d2 is to determine if it's a roll for Armaments and Defenses, or Tokens of Allegiance, which differ between the 1d10, and 1d20.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d2)

>>50751472
Oh I see, the layout was confusing
>>
>>50751464

Post once, rolling a 1d2, and post again, rolling a 1d10 if 1, or a 1d20 if 2.
>>
Rolled 1 (1d20)

>>50751485
Cmon tech
>>
>>50751498
Well, goes with our brute force weapons I guess. We have a shitload of stunners ans bolt weapons
>>
>>50751485
>>50751498

The Dice have spoken! The Cult identifies itself by a,

> Symbolic Color: The cultists show their affiliation through outfits that incorporate a specific colour to reflect their beliefs. It may be a shade uncommon among the local populace, or always worn on a particular garment.

2/3, 1 more roll left!
>>
>>50751519
What? No symbolic color would have been a d10

D20 1 is tons of ammo
>>
Rolled 1 (1d2)

>>50751519
>>
Rolled 3 (1d10)

>>50751572
>>
>>50751361
the more we learn, the more they turn into druids. We got the nature, the simple weapons, terraforming ai is looking like something closer and closer to being true.
>>
>no sadsquid the turk

SAD. LOW ENERGY. NASTY.
>>
>>50751528

Damn, you're right. All the same, I think we should keep the Symbolic Color as a method of Identification. The cult has access to,

> Plentiful Ammunition: The cult favors solid projectile weapons, grenades, and other armaments that rely upon easy access to large stores of ammunition.
>>
>>50751745
Can we flavor these as something like Greek Fire, relatively low tech and simple but they have an absurd amount of it. Enough that the problem isn't the projectiles themselves, but the heat that the resulting fires reach and the difficulty in putting them out.

woo napalm
>>
>>50751572
>>50751584

The cult identifies itself with,

> Favored Craftsmanship: The maker’s mark or factory stamp of a particular craftsman or facility can be found on a great deal of cultist equipment.

I'm thinking that this should somehow tie into the Age Of Strife AI that leads them.

Now that that's all sorted, roll a 1d20 for the Draw and Activities of the Cult!
>>
Rolled 3 (1d20)

>>50751777
>>
>>50751774

Anon, you brilliant bastand. A techno-druis cult with access to knockoff promethium Greek fire? Simply brilliant!
>>
Dubs for hot pink armour due to the visual pleasingness for the Hello Kitty AI
>>
>>50751786

The cult offers,

> Purpose: Some citizens of the Imperium find themselves yearning for something more fulfilling than endless labour to support a war machine they never see. These empty souls often turn to cults that claim to provide meaning or purpose to an otherwise pointless existence.

to those who have been overcome by despair and ennui.

Roll 1d10 to see what kind of heretical Rites and Observances the cult adheres to!
>>
Rolled 6 (1d10)

>>50751887
Given our reliance on primitive but well crafted weapons, I'm thinking maybe we're some kind of back to nature survivalist cult on our urban world, devoted to surviving innawoods and innacave with hand crafted solid ammo weapons like some kind of crazy swiss/united States separatist group.

Basically we're /k/.
>>
>>50751774
>>50751796
Alright, so just some preliminary ideas here.

>The AI, original use name Bercilak the Green Knight was a terraforming and ecology protection AI created during the Age of Strife. When everything went nuts, it kept doing its mission, until a lack of maintenance and rampancy drove it mad, and made it lose the selective nature of what it considered its "garden". Bercilak enlists humans to help it spread its carefully designed nature through systems, often through violent and chaotic means due to the prevalence of its malfunctioning protocols. IT will torch worlds to see the planting of new wildlife, but spare random buildings as its code demands.
>Bercilak's followers are organized in a combination of druidic seniority and knightly regimen, referring to each other by titles and "Ser". They manufacture arms with the aid of Bercilak and their serfs, who range from devout followers to enlisted slaves. They manufacture relatively simple tools, but with great craftsmanship and to Bercilak's exacting and murderous specifications.

tl;dr an ecology ai named after the green knight went nuts and fused the flavor bits of its personality with the function bits. now it runs arthurian knighthood as a ecoterrorist cult.
>>
>>50751910

Except they're led by the ULTIMATE Tech-Heresy in the from of an ancient AI from the Age of Strife.

>>50751910

Apparently this cult practices,

Blood Sacrifice: The sacrifice of living beings, from livestock to captured enemies, is a common way for cults to express their power. The ritual is usually symbolic, although some cults have found ways to harness the spilled life for power.

Spooky. Roll 1d20 for the cults deities! After that, we'll use the Gene-Stealer creation tables to come up with the cults homeworld type, enemies, and overall power.
>>
>>50751976

Shit, forgot the

>

Oh well.
>>
>>50751976
>>
>>50751910
>>50751931

I think we should combine these somehow.
>>
>>50752001
Maybe something like

To prove their worth as a knight, cultists must survive the homeworld wilderness for a week, while Bercilak mercilessly fucks with them via terraforming bs
>>
>>50751998

I don't know if that (You) is supposed to be complimentary or criticizing. Either way, the Genestealer Cult Creation Table,

has some nice tables we can use where the cult generator is otherwise lacking.
>>
>>50752024
What if we had Bercilak's terraforming fuck ups be basically entirely set on making death worlds?

Like, originally its goal was to generate habitable worlds for humans, and its still doing that, they're just only barely habitable. Its gone full darwinist on its cultists.

You can stay behind with the serfs and make gear, or you can go get dumped innawoods for a year and get a knighthood.
>>
>>50752024
>>50752044

That's pretty legitimate, I will admit, and I nominate that we make it canon. But we should roll a 1d20 to determine the driving power behind our cult.
>>
Rolled 19 (1d20)

>>50752043
That was a "I fucked up trying to roll for the deities" You
>>
Rolled 1 (1d20)

>>50751976
Seeing as our leader is obscurous, we should say that at best Bercilak was corrupted by a chaos God or daemon, and chaos takes a back seat here
>>
>>50752084
I like >>50752075
Roll better, fits perfectly since we're set on an AI

>>50752044
Maybe Bercilak isn't Darwinist, but he's trying to create a world of knights and heros

Which involves manufacturing horrible monsters and threats

Maybe he even had a hand in Caliban...
>>
>>50752075

Wow, this Cult follows,

Something Else in the Dark: The Galaxy is a place of immense scale, the Warp impossibly greater. In all that space, many other things exist to bend Man's knee and twist his mind.

That fits perfectly with what we've got so far. Has the cults worship elevated Bercilak into a minor warp entity?
>>
>>50752123

Fuck, I forgot the fucking

>

Again!
>>
>>50752123
we could also take more of a page from the arthurian myth and have the Lady of the Lake be the driving force behind Bercilak, as in the myth she was the one who made him the green knight.
Perhaps she's some kind of minor chaos entity or C'Tan kind of thing, which thrives on the souls of "heroes", which now Bercilak is manufacturing.

That's about it for the actual cult. Now, let's roll up a warband for the cult using parts of the

the Chaos Warband generation table.

Roll a 1d100 for the Blessings Of Bercilak!

..And heightened senses is a perfect example, especially for the knights and hunters of the temperate jungles of space Brettonia

I think that any weapons blessed by Bercilak should be ancient, half-functioning artifacts from the Age of Strife, that are blessed with a paltry amount of druidic blessings.

spitballing lore
>Bercilak and Morganna, a pair of Eldar Twins, fled the fall of their race as their empire collapsed
>They took with them ancient terraforming world engine in the hopes of rebuilding g their civilization and world's after the fall
>But the pyschic devastation of Slaanesh' birth hopelessly damages the world engine
>In order to make.it function, Bercilak sacrificed himself, forming the central spirit in a proto soulstorm/infinity circuit that would allow him to directly interface with the engine and control it
>However they both found themselves at risk of.losing their souls to slaanesh, and had no feasible way of undoing the fall of their people
>They came upon the same idea as the dark Eldar, siphoning off the souls of lesser beings in order to date she who thirsts
>Morganna makes use of "hand maidens" who are actually soul bound to her and can make use of a.small portion of her considerable pyschic might, but their life force is actually feeding hers and.maintaining her eternal youth to protect her from Slaanesh
>Bercilak meanwhile intends to become a new Eldar god by harvesting the souls of mortals and storing them in his infinity circuit until he has acquired enough power, similar to the plans of the craft world Eldar but.on a larger and.more centralized.scale
>Because humans have such a weaker warp presence, many of them are required, and all efforts are made to "improve" the power of their souls to make them worthier sacrifices
>The enemies of the cult are sacrificed to Bercilak
>So to, unbeknownst to them, are its greatest champions, eventually being called on to seek the Graal when Bercilak and Morgana decide they are ripe enough
>Their soulstorm and consciousnesses are subsumed into Bercilak
>All male PYSKERS are immediately sacrificed
>Females have the chance to become handmaidens, which prolongs their lives for a time, but ultimately they are consumed by Morgana
>>
>>50752517
>>50752522
Actually second thought I really like the idea of an ancient, barely functioning dreadnought. We can call it Avalon, and then have it be part of the goal they strive towards, to one day restore it to the paradise they know it was from their stories and scripture.

All the while, the nascent presence of Bercilak and Le Fay's warp shenanigans are warping Avalon into something far beyond a mere realspace dreadnought.
>>
>>50752528

Alright, the Warband is composed of a,

> Company level element worth of Marines that work alongside a fair number of cultists.

Perhaps gene-soldiers or gland-warriors bred to compete at Space Marine levels, but without much of the fancy abilities but a good deal of the strength and toughness. Big, hulking humans who are otherwise strong enough to compete with the Astartes, but otherwise lack all the other nuances, making them weaker and a less effective overall.
>>
>>50752611
Welp, there's Mordred right there.
>>
>>50752588

I like the idea that Bercilak is an ancient. batshit insane AI. What if Morgana and her handmaides fled Slannesh, stumbled upon Bercilak, and manipulated Bercilak into worshiping and protecting Morgana, while continuing his death-world terraforming and Arthurian lunacy on a much larger scale, to further Morgan's ends?

Avalon started out as an ancient, barely functioning Dreadnought from the age of strife, but millennium of tech-heresy, eldar/ancient tech mingling, druidic warp magic, and amateur jury-rigging it has become an extremely powerful technological clusterfuck that would send an Admech Techpriest into conniptions? Morgana is a soul gem contained within Bercilak, and the Eldar more or less rule the cult alongside Bercilak and his Knights.

A whole bunch of techno-weirdos living on the edge of the universe. I would otherwise say a crazy AI is kind of an overplayed trope, and the Great Crusade say a whole lot of weirder shit we could do instead, although with the technological rolls it seems fitting enough.

>>50752604
>>50752640

I like the idea of Bercilak coming up with cheap, knockoff Space Marines.

If Bercilak is an AI from the Age of Strife, wouldn't it stand to reason that he would've come up with ultra-heretical autonomous combat druids? Of course, they wouldn't be anywhere near as powerful as the Men of Iron, more along the lines of, (forgive me for using this as an example,) Bercalik possessed star-wars battledroids to serve as less squishy cannon fodder.
>>
>>50752743

A few human worlds in the Great Crusade ended up with strikingly similar patterns of equipment to what the Legions themselves were equipped with, even down to the similarities in the power armor.

It stands to reason that if they had a tech cache, they might be able to produce their own patterns of equipment based on the standard template, though perhaps a tad more knightly than a Space Marine. Possibly enhanced for lack of an Adeptus Mechanicus with their own runic magic or druidic practice.
>>
>>50752678

When possible, the cultist warband prefers to use,

> Stealth/Infiltration Tactics!

Which I suppose makes sense, given their comparatively low numbers

>>50752680

Though on occasion it resorts to,

> Sorcery!.

I feel like implementing both rolls is good for diversity, as both fit the warband excellently.

Wait, hang on...
>Primal
>Totemic
>Not precisely Chaos, Xenos, or Archeotech

Could it be perhaps a lesser version of what the Space Wolves have? Some form of primal warp entity? I mean, with this alone it makes them sounds like the Space Wolves, but throw in a druidic, vaguely arthurian twist and we have something much different and unique.

It also explains why runic sorcery is somewhat common.

>>
>>50752867

Well then,

> The Champion discovered an alien race and brought it to worship Bercalik, empowering Morgana further.
>>
>>50752879
I love it. Also we should have Bercilak's battle droids completely overgrown and covered in plants as they rise from their hibernation in the forests of the planets. Due to superstition and slight warp fuckery, the serfs never clean it off, letting the plants grow and bond to the drones.
Some of the Knights especially sworn to Bercilak emulate this in their armor and heraldry, taking ornate trees, leaves, and vines into the design of their arms and armor.

It also helps with the stealth!

>>
OK OK let's.boil this down and refine a bit

We have

An ancient insane AI obsessed with creating a d testing Knights, that has been turned into.an infinity circuit by a dark Eldar witch

Said dark Eldar witch is masquerading as Morgana le Day.and has convinced the AI that it loves her. She and her small kabal use their cultist pawns to sustain themselves (replace torture with heroism? Also human sacrifice of outsiders) and to power Bercilak, who she plans to use as a pawn to kill Slaanesh. Maybe she even has the Harlequins support because if nothing else this sounds HILARIOUS to them

Cultists are serfs (laborers, craftsmen), Yeomen (infiltrators and soldiers), and Knights (gland/gene warriors who are poor man space marines made from the cults champions)

The absolute best are soul interred in dark age technology robo bodies, similar to Eldar wraith warriors.

The cult kidnaps PYSKERS to feed to Bercilak to increase his warp presence which means increasingly they will clash with the imperium and try to raid black ships

Best to have them on the edge of the galaxy, preferably on the far side from tyranid incursion and imperial attention. That far out the warp influence of the chaos gods might even be thinned to a level Bercilak and Morgana could vie against. This would let their realm take on more warp influence without drowning in chaos, instead becoming a courtly wilderness and chivalrous hell. Also, the rim of a galaxy is good territory for all sorts of esoteric realspace shit, and this dominion of several stars works well as a little isolated microcosm that could explode if the imperium pokes it.

The serfs and monks of the realm might even be mistakable for good, emperor fearing folk, but their songs are wicked and unfamiliar, and they are off, taken to fell moods and uncanny pragmatism. To an inquisitor first arriving in the sector it would be like summerset isle at the start of the wicker man. The many agri-worlds would seem full of eerie but innocent heathens, lost to the age of strife. The inquisitor or explorator might proceed so far as to meet a notable knight or appear before a court before the magnitude of pure heretical terrors become apparent, but at this point Bercilak has tracked their presence and triangulated forces to squash the incursion or force a landing on a hostile world.
>>
>>50752939

I feel like Morgana should be an ancient Eldar maiden that fled to the farthest reaches of space with a thousand or so of her followers when Slannesh was born. She's been long-dead, and her soul gem is embedded inside of Bercilak, who she manipulates as well as she can.

Her Eldar followers have been mutated and genetically altered into a blasphemous pseudo-fey subspecies over the centuries. Dark Eldar just don't seem to fit the Arthurian tone. I like the rest.
>>
>>50752983

morgana got so heretical and weird before she died, both biologically and as a warp entity, that the can frequently manifest far beyond the confines of the pseudo-infinity circuit she grew/built throughout the dominion. She essentially used Bercilak to engineer a little micro-imperium to feed the ascension of a warp entity and wired her soulstone into the AI the ascension revolved around. Morgana would have to be crazy as shit for an Eldar to even consider stuff like that, and probably bolted straight from the thick of the world ending orgies after witnessing the eye of terror blinking open in getting the psychic scars that driver her unpredictable and unprecedented behavior. As all fairylands must be, its a realm governed by lunatics.

I really like the idea of her infinity circuit GROWING

Like it's planted on each world

The souls of the dead become trees in the forest, becoming part of the circuit..

At the centre of this is the Avalon, the cults craft world which houses the central core of the infinity circuit Morgana has created - the world's tree

Morgana can manifest ANYWHERE she holds dominion via the "roots" of this pyscho organic circuit

The surving Eldar have engineered themselves into bizzare Eldritch plant beings with alien unfathomable emotions (if any at all) in order to protect themselves from Slaanesh

Regular Eldar are invited to join them and be saved from Slaanesh via soul bonding to Morgana and becoming essentially immortal unless killed (as they're all psuedo warp entities now).

Those who refuse are fed to the circuit to power Bercilak and Morganna

Before attacking a world, the cult would bombard the surface with promethium and orbital drop seed pods that terraform the surface with plants. The cult would then infiltrate the world by camouflaging themselves with it, the canopy is dense overhead, shielding those that underneath from artillery and resilient to fire, making it hard to burn.
>>
>>50753781
So, I'm thinking the way these guys get fielded is as follows:

The Rider is equipped with ranged weaponry , more or less acting as a living turret for his mount.

The Dragon, on the other hand, carries melee weapons that it uses to cut a bloody swathe through those who defy Morgana.

Are they like, hydras?
>>
>>50754137
That's possible. It could be that when a piece of them is cut off, the main body heals over time and the amputated piece grows into a fully-fledged dragon over time
>>
>>50754137
>>50754185
They could also artificially perform this once they reach a large enough size, wrenching their body apart as it splits in two and forms new limbs. They can technically do this at any time, but without sufficient biomass and growth, they run the risk of serious injury or death for both them and their spawn.
>>
>>50754329
Now, are these things a natural occurrence, or some fresh hell brought about by Bercilak?
>>
>>50754417
Hmm, I think it could be a combination of both acutally.

What if these dragon things are somewhat plant-based, kind of like mass effect's Thorian hybrids or Pikmin. Their asexual reproduction is a product of that, and when the Knights eventually made contact, they brought along Morganna's crazy plant eldar bullshit and Bercilak's malfunctioning protocols.
To Bercilak these things registered both as landscape and animal, and his programming decided they needed to be lanscaped to specification, but their animal existence fucked with that as well. Meanwhile Morganna is throwing in her two cents of sorcery, and we end up with the perfect deadly pikmin warsteed.
>>
>>50754478
Sounds about right. You know, I could see these guys using bladed gauntlets covered in poison so they get the precision of a proper weapon, but don't have to worry about carrying around a melee weapon.

In fact, since they're naturally covered in armor, it could be that any armor they wear is covered in blades so anything squishier than they are wouldn't dare get into melee.

I'm thinking a lot of it had to do with just how hard it is to kill these things, considering the crazy hydra biology we've made up. The cause had to probably shock and awe its detractors into submission in order to end the conflicts.
>>

>>
>>50756393
>>50756697
>>50756765
I just realized that we can make ANOTHER huge knight thing with this,

The champion, who brought the dragons into the fold and worship of Bercilak did so by slaying their greatest champion in single combat, after it had captured a royal handmaiden of Morganna.
Alone he rode out to where the beast slept, a massive multi-headed thing, an bellowed a roar of challenge.
With his shield, forged by the careful scrutinies of the great arbiter Bercilak and his sword, blessed with fire from the grace of the lady Morganna, he slew the great dragon and dragged its burned carcass before its lesser brethren, who wept and cowered before the majesty of Our Lady's gifts.

So he was dubbed Saint George, the Dragonslayer.
>>
>>50757164
God. Damn. Perfect. To this day, the weapons wielded by Saint George are wielded only by the greatest Champions of Morgana, and only when a foe that no lesser servant could best appears,
>>

>>50751016

>>
>>50757317
>>50757557
Of course when the cult eventually meets a Tyranid incursion, shits going to get real.

>Saints, being specifically "Heroic" or "valuable" souls are drawn into Morganna's bootleg as hell infinity matrix.
>Wraithlords are a thing, and that's before we add in an Age of Strife AI with puppet bodies.

>...And that day, before the might of Kraken, Saint George rode again.
>>
>>50757613
Among others who have borne the weapons of The Saint are the ancient champions Tristan, Lancelot, Schrutan the Giant, Siegfried, the maiden Margaret, and Dobryana.
>>
>>50757790
Actually wait, if Morgana's whole deal is this industrialized manufacturing of heroic souls to propel her puppet warp god/infinity circuit, then all of our saints/heroes are eventually sacrificed to the warp/circuit.

WHICH MEANS, we have their souls on tap. Those who die in glorious battle join the Round Table, the chosen of Bercilak's agents among the warp, shards of his nascent power. Those who are sacrificed to Morganna's circuit are done so under the pretense of Questing for the Grail, and become the Grail Knights, called back into forms of metal and wraithbone in times of great need.

why does this keep getting better i cant even
>>
>>50757887
The mightiest of champions, mightier than even The Saint, lies dormant deep within Avalon. He awaits the day he is truely needed to ride forth once more. He is the founder of the cult, the lord Arthurias, bearer of the twin blades Caliburn and Excalibur, first Champion of The Lady and the only man to have faced Bercilak's full might and not only lived, but to have held his own.

He's and ancient Eldar Wraitknight, kit-bashed with an AI guided Imperial knight from the Dark Age of Technology.
>>
>>50758001
Arthurias, Morganna's brother and the reason behind her heresy from the eldar. His death led her to realize that the eldar were imperfect. After all, how could they be perfect if the strongest, bravest, most chivalrous person she knew died?
Clearly they could be better. So she would make them so, her brother at her side forever her stalwart knight. She would fix this mess her people had made, even if she had to burn down the world.

perhaps at the end of this, she could take her brother from his armor, like they used to be
>>
Do we have a favored enemy? Who is the biggest threat to Morganna's Chosen?
>>
>>50758274
can we roll for it? I assume there are more tables we could use. I'd say imperials are the most pressing threat, or other outlying bit players with weird and terrible power comparable to their own, and these forces compose most of any threatening force the cult encounters. A crusade could roll over them, but they're out of the way and very obscure, and one can pass through their sector, greet their peasants, trade with their lords, and be on your way without necessarily seeing any heresy or evil, just heathens to the imperial creed. To a passing rogue trader they seem a superstitious but wary folk with ancient few cities and ancient ships and many cold, quaint feudal worlds with vast forests. Often they would reference old unknown heroes and saints, or swear by the gauntlets of the green knight, or sing of the woods and the fair folk that live there, but all of this can be shrugged at and passed over, as the sector seems never to have left the age of strife. Anyone inquisitive enough to discern Bercilak and Morgana at all will inevitably journey into the dominion searching for Avalon, and this is a pretty bad idea. At least a few inquisitors that have vanished at the edges of the galaxy had gone seeking a witch and a knight fabled to rule a handful of backwater worlds, only to wander into fairy land under armed and be known to history as 'lost to the warp'.

They have the regular ork problem the rest of the galaxy has, but the nature of Knights and Yeomen of Bercilak has made them well suited to dealing with the green brutes, either by fire and sword or by teef traded for enemy heads. Morgana's plant biology and warp manipulation might even draw strains from orkish blood, and Bercilak ought to love the things, making perfect devices in his constructions and easily manipulated despite themselves. Tyranids make a good archnemesis, but I like the idea of the dominion of avalon being on the far edge from the tyranid incursion to keep biomancy novel.

A bit late for this part of the discussion, but I like both of these ideas, and they're not necessarily mutually exclusive.

The cult engages the plant-dragon race because Bercilak sees them and goes "MUST INDUCT/MUST TERRAFORM ERROR ERROR".

Then St. George cows the dragons so they join the cult and Bercilak alters their biology to make them steeds.
>>
First of all, I just want to say that you brilliant bastards make this world a better place. Now then, onto the rolls!

>>50756421

3! Many of the Xenos were awed at Bercilak's power, and they converted to the worship of Morganna, but the vast majority refused to kneel before them, and instead praised their heretical idols. A fifteen year long, bloody, and ultimately futile war has held between the Knights of Bercilak and the Xenos Dragons.

Many thousands of loyal Knights and countless cultists were slain, and despite their enormous technological advantage, the Xenos biology, fanaticism, and skill in Urban combat caused the war to drag out far longer than expected. Finally, when Saint George took up Excalibur and Caliburn, he slew the Dragon Lord in mortal combat, proving the might of Bercilak.

What are the Xenos called? I feel like we should roll for at least two minor Xenos enemies, as Avalon is extremely isolated and likely to encounter them.

still, they lack the power to project a force against the tyranids, so they presumably work against them through subterfuge and experimentation against genestealers. It might be quite a problem for genestealers to try to inflitrate a society already so wrapped in biocrafting and esoteric technological synthesis, and avoiding the sight of Bercilak and Morgana in their dominion may be impossible for an organization like a genestealer cult.
>>50759426
having the dominion's ships carry bits of the biological infinity circuit/world tree to serve as nodes of the green knight's ascent in addition to the growth in the forests of Bercilak's worlds works well. It could even mean that Morgana could manifest far beyond the dominion through distant ships, providing a neat counter to greater psychic or warp based threats but always needing to retreat before overextending herself or facing the sheer obliteration of her rapidly regrowing avatar.
>>50759877
we ought to roll up some planets of the dominion of avalon or other outlying worlds. I've been thinking of them as mostly appearing to be feudal worlds with prominent but dilapidated and minor DAoT ruins and fair, uncanny people. They might have a few developed worlds, and a couple known shipyards, but these are actually further from the core of the dominion than they would seem. These worlds are courtly and civilized, but still on the edge of the galactic wilds, and in fact are a sort of fine patio to overlook Bercilak's garden. The real core of power is in the wilds of the sector, feral and feudal worlds with little lords and questing knights, and woods so vast and wild they easily conceal the sprawl of once gleaming DAoT cities and installations that still whirl with activity as drakes preen and fae cavort around the busy drones and serfs in smithies and growth vats, pruning the garden beside the gauntlets of the green knight and maintaining his mosey fleet and soldiers.

I stillthink orks should be a favored enemy as well even if Nids are the main focus of our hate. We could really use some foes that are as choppy as we are for the epic melee battles and of course Bercilak would see them as a major fungal infestation in need of immediate eradication lest they destroy any of his carefully tended planets and set back his work.

avalon has developed from being a DAoT terraformer space hulk with a still functional and isolated AI to being the homemade forest craftworld fortress of the cult's leadership and rising gods. With the addition of millennia of Morganna's biotechnological enhancements and experiments growing within its superstructure and its significant local warp influence the Avalon is an unknown variable, but it can be assumed to be incredibly powerful. It is the central example combining biomancy too radical for even the dark eldar with dark age human tech on a massive and individual scale, and adding to that the Avalon is the main locus for a recursively self effecting psychic and warp manipulation that has rendered the ship rather unreal. Through the power of an otherwise deficient biological infinity circuit the cult's head figures can intervene in the traffic of souls in their realm, and meddle with the souls themselves, forming a long etched out warp domain of their own, allowing them to blur the warp into the Avalon and other hearts of their power, and for Morgana and Bercilak, long dead and never alive, to walk among them and work their will. Avalon is a craftworld level naval problem, but its metaphysical existence is even more daunting, and it is presumably defended by half a sector's worth of ships if it ever comes under fire, with every knight, lord, serf, and drake eager to come to its aid in tin cans on torches if need be.
The other ancient ships in the cult's possession, most found maintained by Bercilak's autonomic faculties, are small, run through with roots, and function with a fraction of their operating potential. The ship sent out to see the galaxy is a crumbling roman ruin to the imperium's space cathedrals, but they hit way harder than any ship in such a failing condition and often fixed though Morgana's biomancy. They usually go sans-gellar field in the dominion, but in the wider imperium they raise a modified version suited to their tech.

From Morganna's perspective her way is actually the most merciful and benign. She offers her people a chance to join her willingly and put the sins and errors of their past behind them by evolving. Even if they refuse, she saves them from being consumed by Slaanesh by adding then to her infinity circuit. The cradtworlders may have their own circuits and similar plans, but they cannot look beyond their past despite all their pretensions towards seeing the future, they are trapped and doomed to fail.

Meanwhile, as a nascent warp god she is all too aware of what actually happens to the souls of the dead. The humans under her care have a chance at an afterlife of some sort, one they never would have elsewhere. Not everyone will make it, but as many as possible. Likewise she saves the souls of human pyskers from painful devouring in the warp.

So is this the great smithy of our Knights' arms or some other technological curiosity. Our initial rolls gave us a stockpile of munitions to accompany our choppy, and we have fluffed an affinity for incindiary bombardment before the reseeding of a planet, perhaps this is where we gained delivery system for the flames.

the fae are slower, and more overtly off of human timescales, they'll do things for months when humans might spend an hour. They are noticeably abstracted from the looks of more natural beings, more like fleeting renditions of eldar, and are very hard to kill since incorporating parts of the drakes' regeneration in their biology. they aren't overtly plant like, but their garments a often fall to ruin or gather bits of forest, and they likely wouldn't redress themselves without some significant event, so are draped in robes by cultists.

I like this, but I feel that the Fae should move many times faster than Humans during combat situations, as their Eldar and Drake DNA heighten their emergency reaction times, but the same hybridized Genome reduces their metabolism, to the point that they move less than half as quickly as Humans outside of combat.
>>
>>50768161
I dont think we need a convoluted explaination for the idea that the fae are basically lazy and move in a slow, graceful fashion unless needed at which point they become Harlequins on sanic crack. Excepting perhaps that being amped up like that for too long is harmful to them physiologically. Flaws in the improvements. They literally could tear themselves apart, hence the regeneration. The more experienced learn to restrain themselves, but this is rare and takes time because restraint is not a thing that comes easy for Eldar. Especially not with their souls and brains twisted around so they aren't connected with Slaanesh
>>
>>50767738
The napalm should be fired from a flame thrower apparatus mounted on the Dragons head that they can operate with their jaw.
>>
>>50765991
Given its biodiversity and natural fecundity, this planet is probably less industrial and more an important source of plant and genetic materials for Bercilaks gene forges

OK EVERYONE! I've gotten enough spare time to record everything we've rolled for the cult itself.

Cults Societal Background

> Primal Devotees: These cults form around an aspect of their surroundings or environment. This might be such elemental aspects as the burning flame, life-sustaining water, an essential native vegetation, the primordial darkness, or even the unending depths of space.

Cult's Ideological Background

> Zealotry in Misplaced Idols: The cult worships various idols. These can range in origin from forbidden archaeotech, chaos artifacts or xenos gear.

Cult Leadership Type

> Strict Military Hierarchy: The cult bases its structure on an imitation of the Imperium's military ranking systems.

Cult Leadership Nature

> Something Else: (same as above) Whatever the leadership is, it is neither human-derived, xenos, nor daemonic, but a rare (and often unique) other. Known examples have included Abominable Intelligences (from the Dark Age of Technology or newer) and cosmic phenomena. The Inquisition is liable to label the entity itself as an Obscuro-type threat.

Leadership Style

> Force of Arms: Using his own personal strength or even psychic powers, the leader rules all around him with displays of brute force and physical intimidation.
>>
>>50771891

Equipment and Identifiers of the Cult

> Brutal Weaponry: When forced to action, the cult uses simple, direct weaponry. Heavy axes, huge mauls, and similar weapons are common. More advanced armaments follow similar trends, with chainswords, autoguns, and bolt weapons being preferred when accessible.
> Symbolic Color: The cultists show their affiliation through outfits that incorporate a specific colour to reflect their beliefs. It may be a shade uncommon among the local populace, or always worn on a particular garment.
> Plentiful Ammunition: The cult favors solid projectile weapons, grenades, and other armaments that rely upon easy access to large stores of ammunition.
> Favored Craftsmanship: The maker’s mark or factory stamp of a particular craftsman or facility can be found on a great deal of cultist equipment.

Cult Allure

> Purpose Some citizens of the Imperium find themselves yearning for something more fulfilling than endless labour to support a war machine they never see. These empty souls often turn to cults that claim to provide meaning or purpose to an otherwise pointless existence.

Rites and Observances of the Cult

> Blood Sacrifice: The sacrifice of living beings, from livestock to captured enemies, is a common way for cults to express their power. The ritual is usually symbolic, although some cults have found ways to harness the spilled life for power.

Focus of Worship

> Something Else in the Dark: The Galaxy is a place of immense scale, the Warp impossibly greater. In all that space, many other things exist to bend Man's knee and twist his mind.
>>
I was thinking that the Cult's Symbolic Color should be a coat of arms of some kind.
>>
>>50771919
Thought it was green. Hence the Green Knight
>>
>>50771904
Ok, since the cult apparently holds several planets, maybe their culture and such should be fleshed out. Like, how much independence do they give worlds under their influence or how the power structure of the cult is set up
>>
>>50772498
I'll start

Due to the capability of le Fay to be wherever she needs to be whenever she needs to be through the tree-based infinity circuit, no leadership of the cult is needed, she just relays orders herself.

Due to this, the highest position in the cult besides le Fay herself is on her host of reusable heroes and the current living champion.
>>
>>50771919
Heraldry is a heater shield, halved. One half is mossy and overgrown, the other is gilded wraithbone. Inscribed on the shield is the World Tree, their home brewed infinity circuit. Atop the middle crest is a gilded starburst, doing double duty as the top of the tree.

A hydra lurks behind the shield, red and black and full of fury. Its three heads rise above the three points of the shield, middle mouth closed around the starburst but left and right mouths are closed. The heads all have horns rising from the brow, middle head having the longest horns. Their eyes shine with a dull jade glow. The hydra's tail is coiled below the shield, giving it support.

This heraldic device is displayed on a massive war banner in the central hall of the Avalon, above a colossal round table where the cult's mightiest gather to both feast and plan. The craftsmanship is of the highest quality. It is made using processes both arcane and unique, partly living organic matter with an unusual threadlike variant on wraithbone run throughout. It is said that an actual shield exists, but it has yet to be seen by the living.

>>
>>50779081

There's literally nothing redeemable about them that would have anyone on their side except maybe Harlequins and Inquisition because sometimes they have to work with them to pursue their own agenda.

And while Harlequins have enough material in just knowing about this cult for a whole new performance, any Inquisitors who are forced to work with them would probably wash their hands of it and never speak of it again.
>>
>>50779389
Agreed. Instead of thinking "Who do these guys not get along with?", we should probably be thinking about "Why don't these guys get along with (x)?"
>>
>>50779523

Well, there's not many in the Imperium who would get along with them. Those with the sanction to do so, Rogue Traders and the Inquisition, could definitely see themselves partnering up for a spell, but Inquisitors would be incredibly strained in their loyalties while Rogue Traders would attract attention for associating with them.

Orks don't give a fuck. Eldar probably see them as dangerous deviants, but a fair number of them might be forced to associate, while Eldar Outcasts and Corsairs might freely associate with them. Harlequins have been covered. Tau would see them as singularly bizarre, but I'm assuming these guys are far from the Tau Empire, and are unlikely to ever have contact with them, save for whatever Tau technology might find their way to them in crates of xenos trinkets carted around by other xenos traders. Then there's Chaos, which is probably just as anathema to them as it is everything else.

Still, this is just a cult, so they're more like a singularly bizarre faction stuffed in an obscure pocket of the galaxy, so they might not know of or even encounter some factions.
>>
>>50779636

>Still, this is just a cult, so they're more like a singularly bizarre faction stuffed in an obscure pocket of the galaxy, so they might not know of or even encounter some factions.

For now. The longer the galaxy sees them as a minor threat, the more wrong they will be.
>>
>>50780039

Wow, that's edgy.

Considering they're up against all-consuming bug/dino-aliens, murder robots ready to get those kids off their lawn once and for all, and the ever-present all-corrupting Chaos, a singular cult is a little thing in the grand scheme of things. And if they ever attract the attentions of the Imperium at large, it seems more likely to head the way of the Interex.

they've gotten vague tales of tau on the Avalon, and they've eagerly hunted genestealers as rival bioengineers and terraformers, but they are a distant and novel anathema to Bercilak and Morgana. Still, they are the subject of The Lady's fascination as other warp effecting bioengineers, and they prove the large scale effectiveness of such technologies. This has significant implications in terms of expansion or the forewarned protection of the cult's own biological secrets.

The fae are anathema to most dark and craftworld eldar, but could have decent relations with exodites and corsairs. The fae aren't much more numerous than a well established dark eldar kabal, but they have worlds of human servants. Most of the fluffy stuff I've written has treated them as beyond usual imperial charts or surveys, and most likely to be encountered by explorators and rogue traders, or inquisitors inquiring after distant rumors or something else entirely. Trips out of the dominion of Avalon should be uncommon, usually composed of knights, yeomen, and druids, intended to gather information. Given ten thousand years plus anything she or Bercilak remembers Morgana is a pretty informed figure, well aware of the surrounding sectors.
I imagine parties outside of the dominion might hire corsairs or orks for support. Their rougher knights might even be sufficiently orky to gather local nobs to adventure with them, in the name of the green knight.
>>
>>50780200
We totally need a previous champion and knight of the Round Table who got super buddy-buddy with a bunch of Orks. Someone who was halfway between Fate:Zero's Alexander and Bear Grills.
I'm thinking based on arthurian legend it should be Galahad, the "Greatest Knight Ever" famous for such things as pulling a sword from a block of crystalline stone and going "is that all" afterwards, being the only knight who was permitted to drink from the Grail, and ascending to heaven directly after.

>Sir Galahad got the orks on his side by pulling a piece of Gargant Weaponry out of a rock they were all trying to get. He then put their warboss in a chokehold and gave him a noogie.
