>Penitent Engine to Elites
I've kicked this idea around, but ended up keeping them in HS for two reasons.
First, that's the roll they fill in a penitent-themed army. You have Repentias and Aco-flagellants for Elites, Mortias for Fast Attack, and Penitent Engines for Heavy Support.
Second, it keeps them from competing with Repentias for Elites slots.

>Heavy Support is already overcrowded.
Heavy Support has the same number of units as Fast Attack (ignoring the rhino) and Elites, so I disagree

>Any assault transport?
Repressors have been made assault tranports in this codex

>Also Mortia Squads ones they hit they are normal S3 Humans?
Mortia Squads have a S6 AP2 hammer of wrath, but after that, yes, they fight at S3. They're designed to slam into an enemy unit, use their AoF to kill any survivors who kill them, and, if anyone's still alive, use Hit and Run to come back and Hammer of Wrath them again.

I don't know 40k lore very well, haven't played anything in the universe except for an Only War one shot that went nowhere. So forgive me if this questions seems silly.

Why do all of the battle sisters, whatever there chapter is called, have white hair? Some kind of gene manipulation to make them more ready and able to be space marines? Isn't the 40k setting really misogynistic? Not in any crazy SJW way, but actually legitimately misogynistic?
>>
>>49428139
>Why do all of the battle sisters, whatever there chapter is called, have white hair?
They dye it because their leaders and saints had white hair. Shows devotion, and its also just the generally human instinct to copy things of the people they want to be.

>Isn't the 40k setting really misogynistic? Not in any crazy SJW way, but actually legitimately misogynistic?

As I understand it the setting in an incredibly religious and feudal style society that was given space flight and other advanced technologies. It makes sense to me that that kind of society would be misogynistic.

>>
>>49428139
>Why do all of the battle sisters, whatever there chapter is called, have white hair?

Not all of them do. It is just that the most portrayed Order is the Order of Our Martyred Lady, whose Sisters do dye their hair all white as you're used to seeing no doubt. I'm actually using hair color to denote the various SoB squads on table top, with only senior members (i.e. Celestians, Canoness, etc.) having their hair white (My army is an Orders Minoris offshoot of Order of Our Martyred Lady)
>>
>>49428139
>Why do all of the battle sisters, whatever there chapter is called, have white hair?
Not all of them do; it's just what the Order of Our Martyred Lady do as part of their uniform. And because they're the postergirls for the SoB, lots of people assume that all Sisters do that.

>Isn't the 40k setting really misogynistic? Not in any crazy SJW way, but actually legitimately misogynistic?
Was there anything in particular you were thinking of that seems misogynistic?

>>
>>49428139
40k as a setting is not inherently misogynist or anything like that. The entire point of the setting is that the Imperium has zillions of worlds of varying cultures and development levels with the main unifying aspect being worship of the Emperor. Some planets might have a culture where women or gays or whatever are not treated equally but other planets are just as likely to not give a shit and overall women can do basically anything there is to do in the setting except be space marines.

GW as a company however has its own signs of being somewhat misogynist, especially Kirby.

I don't know the setting or lore well enough to give examples, but from what I do know and as it was described to me the humans are extremely repressed and traditional, which I guess in my mind also included misoginy. I mean, I see that Female Guardsmen and SoB are a thing, I just thought maybe the societies or women at home were relegated to more traditional rules as house wives or care takers.

Fairly sure he actually means modern day.

For what it is, the Imperium is actually quite progressive, for Catholic Space Nazis. Everyone worshipping the Emperor means religion isn't a fiasco and religious wars within humanity are extremely rare.

Racism and sexism are virtually nonexistant, and any person can reach any position based upon merit and the proper reach.

Hell, the only reason women can't be space marines is that the biology of certain organ transplants don't match up within the female body, causing severe health issues.

Typically speaking, the Imperium is actually one of the most egalitarian forms of government when it comes to gender relations - at the Imperial level (not necessarily planetary, as those vary hugely by planet) if you can do the job, you get the job. The fight against the threats to Mankind do not allow for little things like "sexism" to get in the way. All serve the Imperium in their own way, and it doesn't matter who you are if you're willing and able to do it.

The 40k universe isn't expressly misogynistic.

In particular the imperium of man isn't expressly misogynistic. The Imperium is however only being held together by

forcibly conscripted "tithed" armies from overpopulated hiveworlds

crazed priests that think your toaster has a soul

Steroid-filled genetically modified murder autists

and a church that believes that the single greatest human being was a literal god and that any who say otherwise will be burnt.

To believe that the imperium of man is misogynistic in the lore is to presume they give a shit about gender when every day is a struggle to keep the empire alive.

Now I will say that I think GW may be holding off on making sisters of battle because of the modern feminist movement and the fact that if they were to piss them off(which it is impossible not to), that it could cause them to lose money something GW refuses to do.
Or at least that is part of my theory on GW and the sister of battle.

Is it misogyny If all women are used to be baby cloning machines but equally all male born from them are used as literal cannon fodder?

that is what kreig does, If you are female and not a ruling elite you are a breeder and if you are a man and not a ruling elite you will be placed on the most dangerous battlefield your commanders can find so that whatever nasty thing you were sent to fight can have a chance to eat your intestines.

Honestly so long as i am a not a literal immobile breeding tank, I think i would rather be the kreig breeder over literal cannon fodder.

Kreigers live terrible lives to the point there sole motivation is to die.

Krieg specifically doesn't (Or if it does, they only exist in the Imperial bureaucracy and don't actually hold any functional sway over the planet) because of its old civil war.

Depending on who writes them, it's a bit of stretch to call them people at all.
Personally, I like to think of them as being depressingly grim, stoic people, utterly unafraid to die because they've been raised since birth to do so. They still have their individual personalities, but they willingly stamp them down to better fit in their lines.

Kriegers aren't clones, they're test-tube babies.
The grim outlook comes from the endless indoctrination they receive that essentially tells them "YOUR ANCESTORS REBELLED AGAINST THE GOD EMPEROR. THEREFORE YOU ARE BARELY EVEN A HUMAN BEING. IN HIS DIVINE MERCY HE HAS AWARDED YOU, WRETCH, WITH A CHANCE TO REDEEM YOURSELF IN THE ENDLESS FIRES OF HIS WARS."

yes fully cloned (test-tube babies) suffer from cases of extreme bad luck, soullessness and early onset death syndrome(BLAM!)

however a growing fetus has a soul and the number of fetuses per pregnancy can be increased as well as fetuses can be transplanted into artificial wombs after a given number of months in their mother real womb.

There is absolutely no reason for the white hair. It's not even the color contrast that the other anon mentioned - Bloody Rose sisters were some of the first to ever be shown with it.

Subsequently, it's not an OML only trait. Bloody Rose is shown with it here. There is one of the silver armored sisters (forgot the name) with it in the 7E codex. The only white haired SoB before pic related is the one that started it all, Blanche's piece that covered the SoB 2E Codex (subsequently also the only white haired sister in the entire book; none of the models had all-white hair).

Now, with all that said, for some reason, there has been wide-spread massive miscommunication about the hair. Some rumors say its OML only. This is false. Some say its dye in tradition of the founding saints (whom the rumors also say had white hair after being brought before the Emperor). This has never been stated once, anywhere, nor even the suggestion anywhere that there was a physical change to appearance after the Brides left the Golden Throne.

The truth of it is, there isn't a reason. It's just an aesthetic that happened upon a very, very early piece of art (Blanche) and inspired the future generations of artists and painters to recreate it. It's unique, it's recognizable, it's widespread, and it is never once explained or touched upon in lore.

I thought so too, until I got it for SS. It's actually really cool; as the SoB represent pure Sororitas, whereas Witch-hunters include the Adeptus Arbites, Ordo Hereticus, and Officio Assassinorum. Despite being superficially similar, the two armies have vastly different playstyles and aesthetics.

Also, bonus points if you use a combiner to include the Daemon Hunters mod.

I have an entire army most GW employees won't allow me to use at their stores because I had to fucking kitbash them out of about four different model lines because there's like six fucking official SoB models which are pewter and after my tenth blister pack I stopped caring about painting the exact same model again and again and again.

Half the reason I've stopped playing is because I can't play the army I want to play without suffering through expensive, bullshit cloning blues from buying SoB blisters over and over again.

If GW had a SoB plastic line, I would drop $400 on the spot just to buy an entire fucking army-sized load of my Bolter Bitches all at once.

Fucking GW.

Fuck it.

/tg/, let's get a petition going for our Bolter Bitches. Let's ask GW to at least let us put our money where our mouths are.

With the way GW has been making kits recently, plastic sisters would probably still be the same 3 poses repeated. At least dominions/retributors might look slightly different though and you wouldn't be fucked over getting storm bolter sisters.
>>
>>49446560
Plastic is, at the least, a little easier to manipulate than a solid block of pewter.

I'm not asking for Spuss Mahreen levels of posing, just... Give us something that's not the same six lantern-jawed models over and over and over again.
>>
>>49446572
Having squads all in helmets alone would be awesome.
>>
>>49446572
>Plastic is, at the least, a little easier to manipulate than a solid block of pewter.

Not to mention significantly cheaper
>>
I don't know how the war game works so excuse me for my ignorance, but why doesn't anyone just commission one of those full body scan services and a SoB cosplayer to get all of the unit types and poses you want, then 3d print them in plastic? Considering the prices you guys mention for entire armies that you spend, I can't imagine that would be out of the question. Fuck, for the harder things, omission a 3D modeler.
>>
>>49447289
A good cosplay would be at 100-500 USA dollars.

At that price you might as well just buy chinaman or a full GW army.

>>49446383

if you want to play in GW stores or at official GW events you need to have official GW minis. Also they are litigious as fuck, turn up with a bunch of knock off minis and you better have a good lawyer on speed dial

Why I have such doubts about that.

But then again GW is still in the market due to size and age. Retarded business practice are common

That gun is actually a pretty neat idea for Sisters. A sort of SMG with a combi flamer. Make it and 18 inch bolter that fires an extra shot at rapid fire range, ie 3 shots at 9" or closer.

I like the fact that the SoB iconography only uses human, floral, and manufactured elements. It's a nice reference to the creed's stance on humanity as the perfect lifeform. SM, IG and Mechanicus use animal or mithological emblems, but the ecclesiarchy is 100% human-made.

It doesn't come with the clear plastic window though. They "can't produce it anymore", according to customer service, which is why the Immolator kit ceased being sold.
>>
>>49459194
Yea. I'm the one who found that out. I thought it was the immolator sprue itself from the way the rep was talking, but then they sent me a shipper list, which was when I realized it was the fucking bubble.
>>
>>49459194
Truly the producers of the "finest fantasy miniatures in the world" can't make a clear window piece.

In all seriousness though, the Immolator kit was really in need of a refresh. The pieces don't have a particularly good fit and have some pretty bad mould lines and shit.
>>
>>49459245

It's not that they can't make it, it's that they cant make it anymore. so the producers of the "finest fantasy miniatures in the world" could at one point do it but now they cant

truely the finest.

Based off of their Dark Heresy stats (which do treat them as a Monstrous Creature rather than a vehicle) and Kastellan War Robots (which are their closest equivalents):

WS 4
BS 2
S 5
T 7
W 3
I 3
A 3
Ld 8
Sv 3+

Type: Monstrous Creature

Unit Composition: 1 - 5 Penitent Engines

Wargear: Penitent Engine (3+ armor/FNP)
2 Dreadnought close combat weapons with built-in heavy flamers

Special rules: Fleet, Rage, Shield of Faith, Zealot

Unstoppable: Penitent Engines gain +1 Attacks for each unsaved wound suffered until the end of it's next turn.

Idk if ICs can join Monstrous Creature squads, but it they can, they shouldn't be able to join this one.

Upgrades:
The two heavy flamers may be exchanged for two inferno cannons: 20 pts/model

Not sure how many point they should be, but probably more expensive than their current iterations. I like this idea though. I might add it to the /tg/ 7th edition fandex and playtest it to see how viable it is.
>>
>>49454917
I never noticed that. That would also explain all the skulls - an easy and quick representation of humanity compared to Ork or Eldar skulls.
>>
>>49459541
Where is the fandex btw?
>>
>>49459825
You can download it off of the 1d4chan page. I update it fairly regularly as I playtest and balance it.

>>
>>49460231
How would Feel no Pain interact with Unstoppable, btw? Do ignored wounds still count for the +1A?
>>
>>49460371
Not him, but most rules related to FnP don't count a wound as 'unsaved' if it's ignored by FnP.
>>
>>49460330
My bad, it's supposed to be BS2, S5

>>49460371
It only applies to unsaved wounds, and IIRC, FNP rolls count as saves.

I'm thinking about getting rid of Unstoppable. Their badassery might be properly represented by the benefits of being Monstrous Creatures and the other rules they get. Thoughts?
>>
>>49460330
I think that's a typo, or at least I hope it is.
There is no way a big fucking robot lady hits softer than a guardsman.

Even with the DCCW that's only S4, which is a joke.

I assume anon intended to put S5
>>
>>49460400
Seems pretty good, the Unstoppable doesn't seem too over powered to me since it only lasts a turn.

I think the unit size is a bit much though, 1-3 feels more reasonable. I don't know of any unit that allows 5 MC.
>>
>>49460400
I'd get rid of FnP instead (with a price drop) if you want to nerf their badassery. It's already a naked human with T7, W3 and Shield of Faith, and is supposed to expiate its sins by taking bolts to the face.

But I have a pathologic love for glasscannons, so I might be biased.

Yeah, I figured the size would probably be too big to reasonably fit on a PE along with a dreadnought CCW. That being said, I don't actually own any models with inferno cannons, so I have no idea how much bigger they are than heavy flamers.

Dreadnought with twin-linked heavy flamer and inferno cannon.
It's very big indeed; you'd probably have to get rid of one CCW arm on the model to make it fit.
>>
>>49460925
Damn, it's even bigger than I expected phrasing. Yeah, I'm going to keep it off because, while we technically could trade one CCW for it, that would go against the essence of what a PE is supposed to be: a berserking-close-combat-murder-machine.
