Mewtwo keeps its eyes focused on you., impatient for your response.

You glance to Robin and the others battling the legendary Pokemon. They have it on the ropes for now.

They're delicious.
But yeah, obviously nothing. But that's not really the point - Kat's got it pretty gud, but even if she was the most miserable person on the planet that doesn't give her any more right to change things for everyone in the world based on her own whims. That's the other, lesser issue - anything done with the helm here would be poorly thought out and risk massive unintended consequences too.

You feel Devon’s fur against your leg as he gets ready to pounce.

You think about taking things one day at a time, just like you’ve been doing. All the good and the bad is what made you and your friends who you are.

But at the same time, you could also go for a delicious ice cap. That’ll be the first thing you get when you’re back to civilization.

Mewtwo glares at you.

“He thinks you’re a fool. That you talk big because your life turned out great. Not everyone gets so lucky.”

You see Vance and Jeanine and a few others arrive in the lab from a hidden passage behind her. They’re still a good distance away, but they quickly see the situation and mega-mewtwo. Vance looks like he wants to sneak up on her.

You look to Violet. “And what do you think?”

She hesitates again.

Mewtwo, tired of this, reaches out to lift the helmet with telekinesis.

Robin's battle looks like it's suddenly turned against her. It may turn back, it may not.

“Enough! Like all humans, you’re too scared to lose your place of dominance.” He gestures to the other Pokemon. “You’ve given so much, and now she’s turned her back on our cause.”

Her other Pokemon look between her and Mewtwo, not sure whose side to take.

Mega-Mewtwo has its back turned on you. You could take the chance to fight it and maybe get a solid shot in. It looks leagues stronger than when Robin faced it.

Vance and the others have taken cover before Mewtwo turned around. It’s unclear if he saw or cares about them.

You’ve got a free chance now, and you can’t pass on it. With the slightest gesture, Devon leaps into action and uses a flame attack on the helmet. It turns red and the non-metal parts fry off instantly. It deforms slightly. Destiny follows up with an Ice Beam and it shatters.

Mewtwo turns to meet you. “Treacherous human! See how they can’t be trusted?” His voice booms.

“Everyone, wait. We don’t ha-”

Mewtwo throws Violet across the room. “Enough! You don’t seem to realize, I don’t need that pitiful human invention. With enough concentration, I can do with a thought what your ‘human ingenuity’ took so many years of research to attempt.”

“I can’t let you do that, either. Just because you are smarter and stronger, does not mean you are wiser, Mewtwo.”

He looks to the others. “Very well. I’ll crush you by your own standards. Violet said she could show me a better life, but all I’ve seen with her is abuse after abuse. We’ve sought them out and stopped them and more always happen. She thinks you can understand what Pokemon suffer just like she supposedly does. But I know that the only thing humans understand is being beaten beyond a shadow of a doubt. Without having any excuses to fall back on. I'll show you and your traitorous Pokemon” how wrong you are before setting everything right."

He gestures for Gengar to step forward. “Battle us. Let’s see that human pride and leadership crumble under even with all your arbitrary rules.”

You reach for your flute. If you’ve ever needed it, it’s now.

“What are you doing?”

You ignore Mewtwo’s booming voice and play. You bear your soul and experiences into the music and weave a tune of harmony.

Violet’s Pokemon, all but Mewtwo, look at each other with doubt. They really believed in their cause, but they also care for Violet. They decide to not fight, and instead go to Violet’s side.

Palkia and Dialga , who were resting out of the fight, rally forth to push back Giratina. Robin directs anyone with some fight left into pressing the attack.

Mewtwo turns to you. “There will always be trickery from your kind! You’ll get what you deserve!”

He lifts you by the head into the air with his mind. An impending sense of dread and helplessness comes over you. You feel a crushing sensation in your mind, like your memories are being squeezed. Your body dangles.

You push back and slowly back towards Dark Kat’s cell. She grins as you slip the key in and twist. Her lock falls the ground.

“I told you that you needed me.”

She bursts out, knock the cell’s door off it’s hinges. You hold Mewtwo back in a slowly losing struggle as she flies up into the sky towards the barrier around your mind. His huge ominous face lurks among the stars.

He looks curiously at Dark Kat, then his eyes go wide as she bursts through his little protective barrier and hits him square in the nose.

The real world comes rushing back as you fall to the ground. You barely catch yourself and manage to land on your feet.

“What was that!” He shakes his head and turns his full attention on you. Deciding that he’s had enough, he fires a Psycho Cut at you.

Dan of all Pokemon intercepts it. He’s sent bouncing back crashing through some computer terminals.

“Dan!”

Dan slowly moves, he’s still okay! Just really banged up.

Vance, Jeanine, and the others that took the back way all attack Mewtwo from behind. He’s overwhelmed for a second before he takes control of the situation and starts sending them flying.

Mewtwo turns back to you and prepares another attack.

“Dan, Lock On! Everyone else, go!”

Devon starts to shake himself off. It looks like he’s a little groggy from that blow.

You point forward and your Pokemon leap into action. Devon fires a Dark Pulse that Mewtwo stops and forces to explode in mid-air. Destiny twirls through the smoke and fires off a few quick shots. Mewtwo is distracted trying to hit her with a move, but he blocks all of them. Oberon takes the opportunity to rush at him. Mewtwo quickly aims a blast at the kingly Pokemon, but it’s a Double Team! The real Oberon slashes at Mewtwo. On his second swipe, his claw is stopped in midair. Mewtwo launches him across the room.

Without a second to think, Aria him with Echoed Voice. Mewtwo blocks it with a hand and pushes back. With the other he blocks a few more shots from Devon. Devon Mega-evolves and joins Aria.

The beam almost hits Aria and Devon, but she keeps singing and Echoed Voice keeps getting stronger until the beam struggle stops, and starts getting pushed back. Mewtwo puts both hands and all it’s focus to fighting them now.

The beam breaks on Mewtwo and sends him flying back a few feet. He catches and recovers himself before slamming into anyone. Aria looks exhausted, though. She coughs. Devon breathes heavily. You doubt they'll be able to do that again without rest.

Mewtwo looks fine. Mewtwo is peppered with attacks from all sides that he manages to defend against, just barely.

And all while that’s happening, the little, humble Fel comes rushing forth from behind. Mewtwo turns and telekinetically throws a rock up in his path, stopping him right in the air and likely knocking him out. But behind Fel was a balled up wad of string he was carrying behind himself. It keeps going and splits open, covering Mewtwo in a huge cloud of dusts.

“You had me.” He puts a hand on his face. “You had me!” he laughs to himself now. “This isn’t a trick. You and the other girl aren’t just lucky, are you? You sincerely want to end the fighting.”

He glances down to the helpless Hornbeam. “Perhaps...perhaps you’re not all the same. But this one...” Mewtwo lifts a hand.

“Do it!” You hear Dark Kat in the back of your mind.

You turn your attention to the colossal and raging super legendary Pokemon. It looks tired and weak, and it’s having a hard time dealing with the constant barrage of attacks, but at the same time it keeps managing to slip through traps and coordinating attempts to take it down. You’re sure that if the other half of your group was busy with Lugia that they’d have been overpowered by now.

But like both Hornbeam and Violet have said, a Pokemon is a Pokemon.

“Dan, Lock On to that big guy over there.”

Dan carefully takes his focus off of Mewtwo and onto the nightmarish Pokemon from beyond your plane of existence.

As soon as Dan lock’s on, it immediately turns it’s attention to you. It’s as if it knows. With uncanny speed it slithers and flies through the air.

With everything you have you keep yourself from flinching. You do end up blinking, though. You’re only human. Everything considered though, it’s a pretty impressive pose.

“SPARKLE CANNON!” You shout, echoing for all to hear.

The sparkling, shining beam pierces the air and strikes Giratina. It roars back in reaction and collapses backwards.

Everyone looks at you and Dan in total shock.
