“What is that?”

Many of you have gathered around one of the tents, the tent for the Junior Poles Association to be precise. Serafina and her fellow Polacks were sitting cross-legged in front of what appeared to be some sort of wooden shrine to the Marquis de La Fayette. Candles were burning in front of a framed painting of him, and offerings such as fruit, photos of tanks, and even a spent shell casing were placed beside it. Serafina motions to you all. “This is our shrine to the Marquis de La Fayette.”

“Was that here last night?” asks Winona.

“Well it’s here now,” says Serafina quickly. That’s fair you suppose. “Niech żyje markiz. He is the deity who watches over our Academy, and thusly we must pray to him so he may bless our tanks and allow us victory against our enemies! This is one of the many ways the Polish shall improve upon their performance.”

“Um.” Dalia blinks. “Isn’t false idol worship a sin?”

“Besides that,” says Suvorov. “No army ever won a battle by praying and hoping that God will bail them out!”

Clausewitz blinks. “What about the Kamikaze that drove away the Mongol Invaders?”

“Or the rain that prevented Napoleon’s artillery from being set up in time for the Battle of Waterloo,” says Patton.

“Or the storm that destroyed the Spanish Armada?” asks Giap.

“Those aren’t God’s doing!” yells Suvorov. “That’s just the weather being a DICK!”

“Regardless,” says Iris. “Serafina, your attempt to appeal to higher powers hopefully will not get in the way of your training.”

“Oh, no, it won’t!” The Poles shake their head. “Będziemy trenować. Dla bylibyśmy niczym fanatyków, jeśli nie trenujemy nasze serca do żelaza.” The Poles nod to that, agreeing. “The Marquis shall bless our abilities in combat regardless, and I believe you all should too!”

Kyoko blinks. “So uh… you gotta sacrifice something?” Serina nudges her, disapproving. “What!? I’m- I’m convinced! Okay! A lot of weird shit can happen in Tankery!”

Serafina smiles, holding up a finger. “The Marquis requests one item that belongs to you.” Kyoko reaches into her pocket and pulls out her keychain. She pulls the little gear hanging off of it, then places it down on the shrine gently. “As they say in the South, bless your heart, Kyoko!”

Stack says, “That’s not why we say ‘bless your heart.’”

Serafina grins at you. “Elodie, as my platoon commander, would you like to make a donation? I guarantee you, this will work!”

“This isn’t because you’re desperate to get good fast, is it?” you ask.

“… noooo.” The Poles all look away, guilty looking. This is a desperate attempt to get good fast.

Btw German, is it possible to get a T-66 armored car?

It seems perfect for the automotive team, it has a 75mm gun and it's a car.

Armored cars are in that grey area where they're not technically illegal but nobody really uses them.

I'm not sure about a T66, if you're referring to the T19 a 75mm gun, then you're really shit out of luck because it never made it out of the prototype phases. Only 1 T19E1 was ever built, and if it does come up to auction, it'd be impractically expensive to buy and maintain.
>>
> Eh, you’ll play along.

You sigh, pulling out a pocket calculator and placing it in the shrine. The Poles all grin, happy that their dear leader is actually humoring them and not being a stern mistress you suppose. You fold your arms. “Regardless of what I’m doing, this doesn’t mean I’m going to give up completely on hard work. Hard work is what works, not praying to uh…” You blink, looking at the shrine. “The Marquis de La Fayette. He’s not even a WWII general.”

“But he’s the namesake of the Academy,” says Serafina. “Therefore, he must be watching over us.”

“Alright, ramblers, time to get to work,” says Griselda. The crews all start dispersing. She looks at the shrine. “The hell is this?”

Serafina smiles. “It’s a shrine to the Marquis de la Fayette! Would you care to donate a personal item of yours to it, Griselda? It’ll bring you victory!”

Griselda folds her arms. “… I guess.” She pulls out a dollar coin, then toss it into the shrine. She looks over at you. “Ellie.”

You nod. “Griselda.”

“Heading to work?” Griselda looks as if she has quite a bit more to do today, which may mean she needs your help. Though… you still have to put on a good show at work if you want that promotion to Block Officer.

I mean in the original GUP we modified the Stuart to house a 75mm gun and that was a prototype.

Also according to this documentary, there was nothing wrong with it design wise but it was a bit redundant to the america army.

The problem with that is the fact that the base vehicle T19 never reached production at all. At most, there were maybe two when they were being tested.

http://www.warwheels.net/images/T19E1_ACHAUGH.pdf

>>49024575
The reason the Stuart could be modified into an M8A1 with an M3 was because the Stuart was actually available to modify. It's hard enough trying to dig up rare prototype tanks, I can't imagine the T19.

If you do find a T19, you'd be better off selling it for cash since one of those would be an irreplaceable collector's piece.
>>
>>49024674
Due to looking some stuff up and this is just idle curiosity but is the M6 GMC Tank Destroyer legal?
>>
>>49024897
If you're talking about the Dodge WC55 with a 37mm gun on it, it actually isn't. Most AFVs like the WC55 are under an unwritten clause in the rules where they're illegal under the basis that no amount of modifications could make the vehicle safe for use while not adversely affecting its performance. (It's a Dodge WC, not a tank, putting an armored box on the top is obviously going to make it very slow and probably top heavy, and making the armor thin enough to solve that problem would make the vehicle unsafe for the crew)
>>
>>49025008
ah, okay just making sure since it was considered a AFV/Tank destroyer but was a very loose design so it had me curious.

Honestly, it would have been funny.
>>
> “Yeah.”

“Yeah, I am,” you say. “Think you can handle yourself, Griselda?”

“Sure,” she says. “If I need anything, I can ask Iris.” Okay, yeah, that’s good. Iris is reliable, you’re sure that she can handle a bit of behind-the-scenes management with Griselda, maybe. Now you’re regretting this decision. “I hear you’re going to be promoted though.”

“What?” How did she know? “How’d you know?”

“I talk with a lot of Naval Studies students,” she says. “I was talking with some of the farmers down in Agriculture, they said you were on the list to be promoted. Same story too with the girls in Electronics and Navigation. Even Captain Spruance speaks pretty highly of you when we talk over the phone.”

“Y-…” You blink. “You know Captain Spruance?”

Griselda nods. “She went to the same Middle School I did, we even had gym class together.” She frowns a bit, confused. “I’m not entirely sure how she became the Captain for someone so tiny but… I guess she’s doing okay.” H- how is this a thing!? Griselda smiles. “There’s no reason to fear Amy though, she’s really nice. Pretty cuddly too. If she wasn’t the Captain, I’d totally cuddle her.” She shrugs. “That’s just me though, don’t tell her that. She doesn’t like being told stuff like that.”

Ugh, now you can’t ever get the image of Griselda cuddling the Captain.

For whatever reason, it’s making you jealous.

“Anyway, you should get to work,” says Griselda.

“Yeah, see you.”

Denise smiles at you as you arrive in the office. “Hi there, Ellie!” She happily hands you a stack of… more love letters, joy. Hilda looks over, a little enviously. Come on, Hilda, please. “More suitors for you to consider!”

“Great,” you say. You sigh, placing them all on the “to-read” pile. “Anything actually important on my list of things to do today, Denise?”

“Yep!” Denise smiles at you, placing down a large stack of papers onto your desk. Oh. Well, shit. “This just arrived. It’s the damage report to the Logistics Fleet.”

“What?” You blink. “What happened?”

“They were caught in a storm a couple of days ago,” says Denise. “Block Officer Hatteberg and Lieutenant McLean were busy reorging the Fleet. Nobody’s hurt thank goodness but two ships are in for repairs, and one was sunk as well.” REALLY!? HOW THE FUCK DID YOU NOW KNOW ABOUT THIS!? You quickly file through the report. “Block Officer Hatteberg is actually asking your advice.”

“On what!?” you ask.

“The budget is very spare this year for Logistics,” she says. “She’s asking around her subordinates if it’s worth it to replace the sunken cargo ship or if we should just make do without it.”

Well…

“Do we have the details?”

“Yes, of course.” Denise pulls her laptop over, then places it down on your desk. She leans over, pressing her breasts on your arm. She probably doesn’t realize it, and you don’t want to make it too awkward, so you say nothing and deal with it. She shifts through files on her desktop, then opens up a general logistics report on the situation.

“So this is the situation, the Fleet is comprised of twenty Handymax sized cargo ships which transport everything from food, clothes, fuel, everything that cannot be reproduced here on the ship. With the two damaged ships and the one sunken, that means we now only have seventeen cargo ships running.”

You nod. “Okay. How badly does that affect the logistics chain?”

“Well, in theory, the Academyships is designed to be self-sufficient. We won’t notice the loss in cargo actually for quite some time as long as the other cargo ships continue running efficiently, maybe even double duty. We’re also supplied by air as well by civilian merchant planes as well. The idea with the Fleet supplying us that we have enough in excess to live comfortably. If we didn’t have the Fleet or the airplanes or anything else supplying us, our self-sufficient would feed us if we put everyone on strict rations.”

“I see. Can we just rent one instead of buying one outright?” you ask.

“Renting is tricky but it’s doable,” says Denise. “We can contract civilian ships to do loading and offloading for us. I don’t have the exact prices but it’s about a little less than just buying a new ship outright.”

“And how much money exactly do we have to spare?”

“3.4 million,” says Denise. … what. Wait. THAT’S A TIGHT BUDGET!? “If you’re wondering, buying a new one outright is about… half that.”

The US 57mm is just a license built version of the UK one, so there shouldn't be any real differences between the two. Which 75mm do you mean exactly though? The M3 75mm doesn't surpass the 6 pounder until the absolute extreme range of the guns.

I think the m3 75mm considering the date of production.

I think the penetration differs after 500 meters.

You shrug, then motion to the typewriter on Denise’s desk. “Write for me.” Denise nods, hurrying over to her desk and loading a new piece of paper into the typewriter. “Dear Block Officer Hatteberg. I am sorry I was not aware of this issue earlier, but let me quickly make my points clear. I believe that given our budget and with the amount of surplus supply that comes in from the Fleet, we may be better off saving our money and holding off on buying or renting a new ship. I believe that it will be prudent to instead spend money on hastening the repairs of the damaged ships instead. Once those are back in service, we will have 19 ships seaworthy, 1/20th of that is relatively insignificant from a mathematical point of view. However, I would consider the rental or purchase of a new ship next year provided our budget is increased.

“If you feel you need more advice on the subject, I am usually free at my regular hours. Please contact me further if there is more details made available. Dictated not read, Elodie R. Zumwalt.”

Denise happily smiles, then folds up the letter and places it in an envelope. “Love that!” She places the letter inside, then places it in your outgoing mailbox outside of the room. “Other than that, Block Officer Hatteberg wants that damage report looked over and reviewed for any discrepancies.”

“Alright,” you say. Fine, that’ll take most of the day anyway. You decide to get to work.

However, that doesn’t mean you can’t multitask…

“Oh yeah, also…” She pulls out a DVD Case, Ken Burns’ Senshadou. “I’ve been watching Ken Burns’ Senshadou nonstop while I was busy with my work!”

“More information on Miss McPherson and that tank we found! There’s at least three more tanks down here, not to mention that… listen, you’re not going to believe this, but Miss McPherson and her crew were seriously elite. I found some old scoring notes here and I found out by the time they were Juniors, they had over 433 career kills!” WHAT!? Th- That can’t be right!

433 kills by the time they were Juniors? A High School tanker’s statline starts at the freshmen year, they must have averaged at least 140 kills a year just to get that close!

“I don’t follow Tankery that much, but it’s a high number, how high is it for comparison’s sake?”

“The World Record Leader in High School Tank Kills is tied between Chiyo Shimada and Shiho Nishizumi at 506 kills. Kathy… Kathy, that means they were in second place, that means they were on pace to break that record! What happened to them!?”

Kathy Wheeler kicks the door into the Faculty office. Her dogs come streaming through, barking and running all over the place, annoying several of the teachers who are busy working for a few minutes until they realized they were dogs and thus for petting. Miss McPherson however was less than amused. “Kathy, what are you doing?” You and her advance on her, knowing. “What is this?”

“I don’t know,” says Kathy. “What is THIS!?” Kathy presents a paper, showing off Miss McPherson’s youthful face from her days in the 70s. And on that paper her scouting report, how good she was in loading, describing her calm and cool temperament, and her ability to rally her crew, along with all other achievements of the crew as well.

Miss McPherson’s eyes go wide when she sees it. “… where did you get that?” Kuvasz the dog barks, and Miss McPherson quickly pats him on the head before sending him away.

“I found it digging underground,” says Kathy. “I also found out the reason why you no longer practice Tankery, Miss McPherson, you-“

Miss McPherson pinches Kathy’s cheeks, shutting her up. All the teachers look at her, surprised, and all the dogs look over, ready to pounce in case things get physical. She glares down at a very frightened Kathy. “… my classroom, now.”

-

-

You and Kathy sit in seats in Miss McPherson’s empty classroom. A History and Moral Philosophy lesson was still written on the board, waiting to be cleaned off for tomorrow. Miss Miss McPherson paced around the room, mumbling to herself for the past minute or so. “So… what happened?” you ask.

She sighs. “If I tell you, do you swear not to tell anyone else?”

“Of course,” you say.

“This is serious.” She walks up to you two. “Nobody. Not family, not Griselda. Not your crew or friends, nobody else.”

You and Kathy look at each other, then nod slowly. “We give our word,” says Kathy solemnly.

LGA expelled us and shut down the Tankery team very briefly to keep us from ruining LGA’s image,” she explains. “The rest of the team was innocent, but they had their records destroyed as well, along with most of their tanks confiscated. The ones you find down there are the ones the team could save.”

It’s a tough question, but you have to ask. “H-… how were you cheating?”

“We modified our King Tiger, Thaddeus, to perform beyond what it was supposed to do. We replaced the engine with a new one, cosmetically it looked the same as stock, but on the inside it could outperform any tank ever deployed during World War II. Our ammo was specially modified as well to penetrate any target at any distance. And we altered the carbon coating and judging equipment to make every shot count as non-penetrating.”

“And you did this for three years?” asks Kathy.

“Three months actually,” says Miss McPherson. “Right into the ITL World Tournament semi-finals. We were trying for our first world championship.”

Things are incredibly heavy now.

“How could you do this!?” You stand up, aghast. Miss McPherson folds her arms, looking at oyu neutrally. “Y- your team was innocent in all this? But you and your crew just decide to up and cheat like this? How did it even get this far?! Why would you even let it get this far!?”

“It was our third year of Tankery in LGA,” says Miss McPherson. “The past two years, we always qualified for the ITL World Tournament, but every time, our team would rake in kills left and right, but our team would choke at the last second or otherwise give us no support whatsoever. We wanted to win, just once.”

“Did breaking the record for career high school kills not matter to you?” you ask.

“At the time, no,” she says bluntly. “Look. That was decades ago, but we try not to talk about it, the ITL will always deny what happened, and now we’re all scattered around.” Miss McPherson in frustration kicks the ground, biting her lip. “The expense we went to try and win that tournament for once, all the great things that we did, it all went to waste. So if you’re wondering, yes, I regret every single day of it.” She walks over to the window. “I’m sure Dottie does too, I’m sure the others do too. I’m sure Oleg regrets even modding the tank for us.”

“Wait, Oleg?”

“Who else could’ve modded the tank that well for a low price,” she says. “Look, I don’t want to talk about this anymore, so, if you could please just go.” She stares out the window. “That’d be great.”

You sigh deeply, then stand up. “If you could help us find the last three remaining tanks, that would really help us. Then we’ll go.”

You blink, looking at the roster. “So, a Jagdpanther, an SU-100, and the chassis of a Panther is all we’re missing then?”

“Yep,” says Miss McPherson. “The Jagdpanther is actually in Logistics, right near where you work in fact.” Wait. What. WHERE!? “It’ll be in one of the old storage areas, I know some of the Naval Studies kids talk about it, they think it doesn’t work, and it probably doesn’t after 40 odd years of disrepair. The SU-100 and the Panther chassis are sitting down in the disused rail system below the water line.”

“Alright,” you say. “But… this was a really good lineup though.”

Kathy shrugs. “Well, it’s not really in my business to talk about stuff like that. I don’t really know much about it. Did you want to try looking for one of them tonight? I think we got time.”

>>

Not as long as it would take for the Jagdtiger. The thing is basically a rolling mechanical failure. If we had to go for one of the TDs, the SU-100 is the smart choice. Good gun, unreliable gearbox but not as bad as the Germans, can even manage a decent clip in a straight line, though only on flat terrain thanks to its low gun mount.

Doesn't matter now anyway, JT has the votes.
>>
>>49028961
We can spend tomorrow searching for the Su-100 if it makes you feel better.

The Swedish tank and the Jackson are being repaired first
>>
> “Sure.” (Which?)

“Maybe we can go find the Jagdtiger,” you say. Sure, the Jagdtiger is big, clumsy, a bit underpowered, a little over engineered, and inflexible. But who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky and it works. “Where did she say it was again?”

Kathy folds her arms. “She didn’t actually say where it was. But I happen to know where it is.”

“What? Where?”

-

-

“Huh?” The Light Music Club stares at you. Behind them is a very bright blue Jagdtiger, with stars, rainbows, clouds, and lightning bolts painted across it. “Why do you want to borrow our stagepiece?” Their frontman, a very bouncy girl with wavy black hair looks confusedly at you.

You stare back at them. They’re using an utterly irreplaceable tank as something to decorate their stage.

How long has this been here?

“Well,” Kathy says, “Look, the Tankery team needs it. Can it run?”

“Not really,” says the frontman. “There’s no engine in it. We have to tow it everywhere. Other than that, it’s in pretty decent condition.” Okay, yeah, that’s fine. The engine is replaceable. You sigh, folding your arms. “But, I dunno, we’re not just gonna sell it to you. It’s really popular with the crowd!”

“What crowd?” asks Kathy.

“… okay, I know we don’t get a lot of people attending our concerts, but everyone says they love it!” she says.

“How much would you take for it?” you ask.

“No question, we’re not selling,” she says.

Kathy looks at you, expecting a move from you.

Ah, guess the tone of my post was wrong, I'm not too cut up about it, I'm in no rush to grab up the tanks, crews should be our priority for now.

I do think we should be wary of making our lineup too long ranged and static though and repeating the mistakes of McPherson's team. Already we have a strong core of heavy tanks with great long range firepower, soon to be supplemented by the 90mm M36. I'd say the Jpanther and/or SU-100 could be good additions but the JT might be better to sell off, even if it's a junker we should be able to charge whatever we want for it in this market, use the funds accrued so Gris can snap up some more mediums or lights when they hit the market.

>>
>>49029114
The thing about that is the the market gets taken up by the other schools!

Selling it will be idiotic, this was the same arguement we had with the Swedish tank. We don't know if new tanks we want will come to the market.

And we are undermanned so even if it's clumsy and over engineered we need all the tanks we can find now.

We have like what 9 tanks now? While we need crews it won't mean squat if they don't have no tanks.

Not to mention the major league will require like 30 tanks iirc?
>>
>>49029302

“There has to be something you want.” You snap your finger. “Maybe you can join the NATO Tankery team,” you offer. They look at you, confused. “You can crew the Jagdtiger! We’ll repair it, fix it up. You won’t have to tow it to your concerts then, you can drive it there now!”

The guitarist raises a finger. “That actually would be pretty nice.”

“And we can use it a stage too, look at the size of it!” says the drummer. Okay, that’s probably pushing it a bit. “And that gun too! Mercy!”

She scratches her chin a bit. “Tell you what. We’ll consider it, provided you can find us a willing audience to listen to our music. We mostly do covers anyway since nobody here can write a song to save their life.” They all shrug at that, apparently in agreement. “You find us an audience, then yeah, we’ll consider throwing ourselves in.”

“Great!” you say.

Kathy looks at you. “Just one question. Where you going to find an audience?”

Honestly It's probably best relegated to its own unit with SU-100 and JPanther to act as a static base of fire and anchor point for a defensive line to pivot on. The Pershing, Tiger II and IS-2m have good long range guns but are also better used aggressively as breakthrough tanks or to hold forward strongpoints.

Depends, in it's current state it's probably better left as part of the Medium platoon, just to beef us up to 4 tanks, but if we upgraded it to the long 75mm m/43 gun armed turreted TD version it could join the M36 Jackson and Hellcat as our fluid AT support group attached to Gris. The project was dropped by 1946 but I'm not sure when the prototype was made and the project started in 43-44. That said, they've allowed some post war tanks that were in development before war's end so I think we could get away with it. It also has a 3 round autoloader, which is pretty neat.

“Kathy, you go ask the girls to meet up here at uh…” You look at the little vacant lot that the Light Music Club have made a home out of, with the Jagdtiger sitting in the back. “Here. I’ll go ask the boys.”

“Alright!” Kathy salutes you. “Let’s get going then!” She starts running off, followed closely by her many dogs.

You point to the Light Music Club. “Get yourselves ready, I’m bringing a concert to you!”

They salute. “Will do!”

Right.

That just left the boys.

-

They all stare at you. Some were wearing dark green shirts or tank tops with khaki pants, others were shirtless, some wore the leather flight jackets, but universally they were all boys all the same. And you were alone (well, minus the LGA Skycraft team which appears to be absent for most of the time for some reason). “A concert?” says one of them. A few dozen of them had gathered around to hear what you had to say. “Well, what do they play?”

“Covers of rock songs I guess, I actually didn’t ask,” you say. You probably should’ve, but whatever. They’re boys, in one ear, out the other. “But yeah. Will you come or not?”

“That’s not what I’m asking,” he says. He points back a bit, and the crowd parts a bit to reveal Jeep Jockey napping in the driver’s seat of his jeep. “We’ll go to your concert, but make it a bit of a night for him.”

You squint at Jack. “… you want me to take that Jeep Jockey on a date?”

“Just go to the concert with him, all you gotta do is sit next to him and be friendly.” He sighs, then walks up to you and wraps his arm around you. The boys and girls are all sitting in their own sides of the lot, with tanks serving as seating for the girls with jeeps and trucks serving as seats for the guys. Good way to tell who’s who you guess. Winona looks over at Jeep Jockey, then smiles at you. “What’s he doing here?”

“We’re on a date,” you mutter.

They all gasp. You look at them, and they all look absolutely gobsmacked. “EEEEEEE!” Winona grins, pressing her hands against her cheeks. The other girls giggle and laugh at your expense.

> + 20 MORALE TO WINONA
> + 5 MORALE TO EVERYONE ELSE

Winona gently places her hands on your cheeks, grinning at you. “My little Ellie is all grown up and dating MEN NOW!”

“I could kill you right now,” you say quickly. Winona giggles quietly.

“Well!” Stack nudges you. “We’ll just leave you two alone!”

Ingrid rubs her hands together, giggling a bit. “Maybe he can walk you down to first base!” It takes a minute, but Stack, Winona, and Josephina immediately crack up a bit at that. YOU. FUCKING. GUYS. They start stalking away, continuing to giggle.

Jeep Jockey rubs the back of his head, nervously. “Um.”

THIS NIGHT SUCKS ALREADY.

You sit down on the hood of the Jeep with Jeep Jockey, who sort of awkwardly sits stiff as a board. “You know, you don’t have to be so awkward,” you say. “We’re here to have fun. Isn’t that what’s important?” He nods at that. “Yeah, we’re having fun! Fuck it.” Yeah, having fun, what a load of shit, we’re having fun!

He shrugs at that. “Well, hey, I mean, it’s nice to go on a date.”

“I’m your first date ever, aren’t I.”

“Maybe.”

You roll your eyes. “Look. I’ve seen lots of romantic comedy movies.” He quirks his brow at you. “We go on the first date, nothing goes right, then somehow someway you do something really cool, and that saves it! You got it?”

“… are you sure you know how dating works?” he asks.

“Of course I do!” you shout. Of course you know how dating works, why, you’ve never been on a date either but you’ve seen and heard plenty about people dating. Therefore that makes you an expert on how to date people! Haha! Take that, girls in the 7th grade who called you a slut for having big tits!

“You have no idea how dating works, do you,” he says.

“No,” you say quickly. Fuck it. He’s honest too, might as well be as well.

He shrugs. “Well, hey, maybe we can just enjoy a nice set of songs together, then I drive you back, alright?”

You nod. “Alright.” Good, he’s being mature about it, that’s nice.

You twiddle your fingers a bit, and he looks away, chewing on the insides of his cheek.

“GOOD EVENING LGA!” yells the frontman, Jane Fogerty. The girls all remain quiet, silently applauding.

The boys though. “WHOOO!” They all raise their arms, jumping up and blaring the horns on their trucks and cars. Jane looks positively taken aback by the boys for a second, before quickly recovering and grinning.

“We’re the LGA Light Music Club, and we are here to Rock! Give us a shoutout to what you wanna hear!”

The boys, unlike the girls, are much more vocal in what they want to hear. Everything from AC/DC, to Metallica, to Led Zeppelin. Except for Stack of course. Stack yells, “Put on the Who!” she yells.

Fogerty and the rest of the Light Music Club grins, probably from the fact that this is the first time they’ve had a significant amount of people at a concert for once. “We’ll start off with AC/DC then work our way down to the Who! Here we go!” Their guitars start singing and screaming as they get playing. The boys pump their fists, whooping and cheering to the music.

It’s a contagious attitude, it gets the Poles screaming and jumping first, then the other girls as well.

You and Jeep Jockey stand on the hood of his Jeep, clapping and singing along with the music. This has got you pumped.

“The Light Music Club is at your disposal!” The five members of the Light Music Club bow to Girselda, you, and Jeep Jockey. “We will do our best, provided you provide an engine for our little beast here.” Fogerty pats the side of the Jagdtiger.

Griselda smiles. “We can do that. Come by training tomorrow, we’ll get you sorted out.” They all smile, then hurry away to pack away their equipment. Some of the boys are busy mingling with the crews. Winona and Iris are especially popular with some of the boys, as is Stack too for whatever reason. Ingrid, despite her love for baseball, appears to actually be too shy to talk to any of the boys so she simply hangs around with Josephina on Oliver the tank. Griselda looks over to you, and notices sort of a worried expression on your face. “Ellie, you get me a new tank AND a new crew. Granted, it’s a Jagdtiger I know but, something amiss?”

“Miss McPherson helped us dig up where the other tanks are. There’s a Jagpdanther, an SU-100, and a Panther chassis lying around.”

This one's interesting, it seems to lowball the Superstructure's frontal plate, but I just found another document that also indicates it's 250mm, so I'll err to the majority.
>>
>>49032808
The 250mm probably refers to the gun mantlet, which is usually the thickest part of the frontal armor.
>>
>>49032435
I think that's appropriate, though. People are attracted to an eccentric, charismatic character like Rommel or Patton, but less so to (arguably) more interesting characters like Kesselring or Bradley. I fear for the third season where we get a Truscott or Heinrici, and innate competence loses out to a lack of forceful personality.
>>
>>49032808
So it's a mobile pillbox that's good.
>>
>>49032825
Nope, figured it out, the initial design brief was for a 200mm superstructure front, but by the time it reached production it had been upped to 250 to keep ahead of the more powerful allied AT weapons being deployed.

“Yeah, it was great,” you say. “I don’t go to concerts all that often.” Or at all. “And it’s nice going out with someone like you I guess.” Someone who doesn’t bother you too often and lets you enjoy the show as it is.

“Of course,” he says as he drives you back to the camp with the other tanks. “By the way, the rest of the guys were talking about some kind of exhibition match between Gertrude and Griselda Pool. You hear about that?”

“Yeah,” you say. “I actually suggested the idea.”

“Did you?” You nod. “Well, if you’re participating, I’ll be rooting for you. I mean, honestly Tankery looks pretty cool. It’s a shame guys can’t do it without looking like a faggot though. When’s the last time you ever saw guys do Tankery?”

You quint at him. “Are you trying to tell me you want to do Tankery?”

“No!” He shakes his head furiously. “God no! I’m just- I prefer planes.”

“Clearly.”

He grunts. “Well anyway, I enjoyed our time together, Elodie. It’s not often I get to do something with a friend. I don’t have too many of those. I mean, the guys are great, but we’re more like co-workers than friends if I’m honest.” You sigh, that’s… honestly kind of sad. “But you’re alright, I like you. In that uh- that little sister kind of way.”

“…” You blink. “Excuse me?”

“What?”

“What do you mean little sister kind of way?” you ask.

“You’re like a little sister,” he says. “Oh, granted, you’re very well-developed and big in many ways for a little sister, but that’s how I see you. Hell, I could probably lift you and carry you and probably just spin pile drive you into the ground! Ha!” He snickers a little at your expense. Fuck is he talking about little sister!? “You’re having a laugh,” you say.

“What are you, British?”

The convoy of tanks arrives at camp, and that means he drops you off at camp. “Well, later, Elodie.” You grunt, waving goodbye to him. “We should do this again sometime, maybe I’ll treat you to lunch or something.”

“Whatever,” you say. “See you, Jock.”

He waves goodbye. “Later, Elodie.” He drives off and away.

Ugh, that’s finally over with. It’s pretty late at night. You’ve barely had any dinner or anything else to eat. You’ll probably smash a bowl of Giap’s pho then hit the sack. She’s already handing bowls of it out to the crew. “Here you go!” Giap hands you a piping hot bowl of pho, soul food for the Vietnamese you suppose.

With that, you step into your tent and sigh.

Only to be met with the grinning faces of your crew. “Uh.” You look at them. “What?”

“So?” Winona pats the pillow next to her, beckoning you to sit down. “What was it like?”

The more I look up the KT and possible conversions the more I think it's a dead end.

The armor is fine, but this is Unlimited. Everyone is running highly mobile vehicles or stuff that could still kill it.
>>
>>49033125
NATO is actually quite strict with the modifications. Everything is relatively within reason (as is dictated by the judges).

Now Unlimited, that is a very different story. You should see the type of shit Perrine wins with.

Cheers Schteel
>>
>>49033125
This is NATO, not Unlimited, we're not filthy degenerates. You have a point though, no armour is impenetrable and Germans could not into Side Armour ever, but the KT is durable from the front (more so once we get it some applique packages) has a dead killy gun and is decently mobile when it's not broken down.

Same grey area as Armoured cars, you'd have to get it a close compartment mod and I'm not sure why you'd take it over something like a Marder, Archer, or any number of other light TDs converted from light tank hulls.

As for the 1897 I'm really not sure but a quick google says in the range of 40mm with APHE at 400m, 30 degree angled RHA plate.

Well, at least there's space for it. It's meant to have a crew of six so between that and the general roominess of German Tanks' fighting compartments (only the Yanks outdid them for comfyness as a rule) I can imagine that not being too much of a problem.
>>
>>49033471
Germans did do some insane things in the air, but the Americans weren't that far behind in this regard. Remember the Flying Pancake?

Then again, that's for the guys to figure out. The further away from them we get, the better (said after we just went on a "date" with one. How did we let this happen? WHY did we let this happen?)

We don't need more TDs. The Panzer III doesn't even need to be a StuG, the 50mm L/60 isn't bad or we could give it that 75mm squeezebore Perrine used in LGA 1. Seriously, a bigger gun does not a better tank make and too many casemate TDs will leave us prey to the exact thing McPherson complained about with her team. "PzKpfw III Ausf L mit Waffe 0725" is its designation, one prototype built, tested but never adopted. The 75mm is a superior gun, capable of penetrating 100mm apparently, though I'm not sure at what angle or range (or even whether the target was face hardened or rolled homogenous armour) because there's just no info about the Waffe/Gerat 725 squeezebore around apparently. Of course, as a squeezebore it's way less versatile, can't fire HE, Smoke or any shells other than APCNR (Armour Piercing, Composite Non-Rigid.

I'd recommend the 50mm L/60 personally, as it's got better AT capability than the stubby 75 especially when using APCR and better utility than the 75mm Squeezbore. I tend to favour versatility over brute power.

I thought they just stopped development on the autoloader rather than it not working. But if it doesn't work then we can just stick with manual loading, not a huge loss. Looking for pen numbers now.

We usually draw, no need to rig it but i want to win.

We win or we lose. No rigging, no manipulation. Griselda knows, probably better than anyone on our team, what we're up against.

I expect to lose. We are outnumbered and outclassed.

But its not about winning or losing, but how we conduct ourselves. We must fight hard, smart and without hesitation. Make them respect us, not because we fought, but because we fought well.

But wouldn't the AUSF N with the short 75mm using HEAT rounds be sufficient?

At the least the AUSF N since it can ford rivers.
>>
>>49034032
Looks like the Swedish 75mm L/54 that modification would use will pen about 105mm at 100m, RHA flat plate. Doesn't say what kind of round it's firing though, would assume AP or APCBC.

>>49034151
Eh, it's not great, HEAT rounds are finicky and low velocity guns like the short 75mm aren't very accurate beyond mid range, they also struggle to hit fast moving targets like light tanks and mediums, and the 75mm HEAT wasn't good enough to bother heavies much.

>>49034234
and the fact artillery support is being handed by the IS-2m, Jadtiger, Jadpanther, and the swedish tank?

so it's too much for now?

Also what will the plans with the new tanks?

Or our plans for tommorow? cement the exhabition match or search for the other tanks?
>>
>>49034440
Yeah, we've enough long range support for now.

We can send others to collect the tanks, we should take a day off, put out feelers to other teams, Griselda mentioned getting another team to fill out the rest of our roster, maybe one of the teams we've faced could lend us a hand, or maybe a team from the Eastern league looking to scout out potential opposition in the postseason.

Other than that, take Ingrid or another member of our crew with us to start getting some interactions and maybe a loyalty quest.

As for the new tanks, take the Panther to Ausf. A or G as soon as possible, the others have no urgent upgrades and I've already thrown together a potential ORBAT including them further up in the thread.

You know, as much flak as I give the JT for being a rolling dumpster fire. This is pretty hilarious.
>>
>>49034583
I personally want to do our job and maybe find the rest of the tanks. ad finish some side quests.

It's a chassis we won't see it very soon.
>>
>>49034627
That is kind of sad isn't it heavily armored though?
>>
>>49034658
I mean after it's restored. While a stock SU-100 or Jpanther are combat ready, taking a Panther Ausf. D (which is what it will probably be when we restore it) into the field is a waste of time.

>>49034676
Germans cannot into side armour as I've mentioned, but that chart shows 90mm HVAP, basically the most powerful western allied round of the war bouncing right the fuck off its front plate even at point blank.
>>
>>49034744
So we should focus on getting the intact tanks first, I think the panther Chassis should be last or have our crew grab it.

The quicker restores will give us more spots to put crew into them

Depends, it's likely all three will be restored before we find crews for them. We're not leaving Oliver though, he's seen us through too much to abandon him now. That and it indulges my Cromwell fetish
>>
>>49034915
Who said we're leaving Oliver?

I just want more tanks, the more tanks we have Griselda will have an easier time finding crews.
>>
>>49035013
> or have our crew grab it
By this I thought you meant having our crew use it, misinterpreted I guess.
>>
>>49035041
I meant our crew being delegated to recover these machines, not switching to a new tank.
>>
>>49035327
Might not be a bad idea. Or maybe we could try to force the Automotive and Automotive Fan clubs to bond over recovering them?
>>
>>49035371
That's an idea but i feel they will damage the tanks in the process.
>>
>>49035494
Unlikely, they're both highly passionate about machines and I doubt they'd break something intentionally, and with all of the tanks having rusted away for decades there's probably not much more to break on them anyway.
>>
>>49035548
Intentionally

I think that's the keyword here.

unfortunately not legal for our purposes, but Strv 74 still quite a sexy tank.
So enjoy.
