>You are Princess Zelda, heir to the fallen throne of Hyrule

>Your father, corrupted by Power, died in a coup, your Kingdom shattered in a civil war 10 years ago, the Hero in Green giving his life to ensure you escaped the conflict

>An uneasy peace has returned to the land, but omens of a descent into greater chaos than before loom on the horizon

>You, Zelda Hyrule, have the potential to claim your birthright and restore the Kingdom to what it once was, bring back true peace to the lands. Your path ahead is not set in stone; you must chisel it in yourself. What kind of Legend will you create?

You take a look around the room with Horon, spotting some pots around, but thankfully no further enemies. There's a stairway leading down to the second half of the room, where the Lizalfos and Dinolfos attacked you from. You... think you spot something that looks like a chest down there, but can't tell for sure.

On the other side of the room, there looks like there are two conspicuous torches that are left unlit, flanking a section of wall at just enough distance for a door to be at. Maybe you could try lighting them with your lantern, see if that works. Though the fact that the exit hasn't opened is... worrying.

"Say, Termina, you got any more wooden shields?" Horon asks, finally putting out the embers in his hair. "That worked out even better than I thought it would, so if you've got a spare..."

"I'm afraid that was my only one, Horon".

You briefly stare at Horon coldly, before pinching the ridge of your nose, counting in your head down from 10. Be patient, Zelda, he's learning. Give him time... "I am afraid that was the only one I brought. Being that it was a spare. You will have to locate one yourself next time."

"Gotcha! I'll stock up on wooden shields next time I'm in a town." he replies cheerfully, Felicia visibly sulking next to him.

You bring out your lantern and attempt to light the twin torches. With both lit, a clicking sound can be heard, and the wall starts to open up... though to what, surprises you. It's a door, but there's this strange, silky substance made to look like braided rope in front of it. Soft to the touch, but noticeably tough, as if it were rocks wrapped up in a thin layer of fabric. And something about it seems... strangely enchanted.

"Huh. Maybe it's flammable?" Horon asks, looking over the new door. You bring your lantern to it, and while the substance does seem to get singed slightly, it also somehow restores itself nearly instantly.

You both next move down to the lower level, and do spot a chest! ...but there's something strange about the floor around it. As you move towards it, the floor tiles around the chest bolt up to nearly the ceiling. Stepping away, they come back down. Well, tricky...

>A. It might have only a certain way you can move to the chest, try to investigate if any of the floor is pressure-sensitive

A. It might have only a certain way you can move to the chest, try to investigate if any of the floor is pressure-sensitive.

You scratch your head. You could try to scout out the area, see the correct path to take. With Horon helping, you'd find it in no time.

But... well, there's a more direct approach.

https://youtu.be/PEozRLcAp9U

You keep a stoic look as you turn to Horon. "This may sound like an odd question, but how light are you, Horon?"

"...that IS an odd question." he responds slightly defensively. "A-about six and a half stones?"

Hrmn. You're a little over 7 yourself. But maybe if you're careful enough... "I think I've figured out a way to get to it."

He gulps. "H-how?" You make a throwing motion. Horon's face goes a little red. "I-I'm not THAT small!"

You keep the stern look. "Horon, come now, it'll be fine, and it'll get us out of here faster."

He... relents. "...fine. I'll get the treasure first."

You try to figure out how to best go about this. You don't exactly have a lot of practice with something like this... but, well, you make do. Grabbing him by the collar, you try with all your might and toss the boy at the treasure chest. He avoids triggering the walls, and actually makes it, bracing himself for the impact. As good of a throwing arm you seem to have, that only barely got him there, so at least there's not too much force of impact.

He still lets out a moan of "Oww..." as he lands.

Felicia seems to stare at you, unamused. "Was that... necessary?"

"It worked, did it not?" you ask, trying your hardest not to smile.

Horon opens the chest...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VRr9NG7RE0

...and acquires the [Gloves of Flame]!

He takes the time to put them, and then gives the item a test... blasting a ball of flame from his hand. You hear the floor around you click, and Horon strolls back to you casually, smirking. "Well. Termina, I think I'm going to keep these for a while."

Heh, actually the Horon is a girl thing started in this quest because every other party menber before him was a girl save for the scort mision.

And there also the fact Horon seems too fixated in us suposely liking girls and that he got called a girl.

If Horon is female or not in this, is up to the GM.
>>

I don't like the idea of Horon actually being the girl. I do however, like the idea of treating him like one. Needs to be the right moment though.

You nod. "You got to it first, it's yours, and you needed something extra to rely on. Feel free... but please, PLEASE be careful. Fire is not a toy. Magical fire, even less so."

"Yes, moooom." he grumbles out.

Your eye twitches slightly, but you let it slide as you recall, "Wait a minute... Horon, that door!"

He realizes what you're talking about, and immediately bolts to the other section of the room, laughing. He stands at the door, pulls his hand back, and thrusts it forward to launch a fireball. The silky material nearly evaporates, and the two of you make a little "Yes!" sound. You head inside first, and discover... aha, a chest! Inside is...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VRr9NG7RE0

...the [Power Glove]! Now you can move heavy objects and weapons!

You see Horon try to launch another fireball to practice, only to realize he can't. He scours the room for pots, breaking a few and restoring some magic.

I think it would be funnier if she was actually a girl because she is playing being a hero and heroes are guys, right?

And then later she is just too ashamed to admit the truth. Because she has low confidence in herself unless she is playing up as Lord Horon.

You look around the room for more scattered pots, and quickly recover some health. You also bring your magic back up to full, and get an extra 20 Rupees for your trouble!

[Hearts: 6/6]
[Magic: 5/5]
[Rupees: 111]

Looking around the room, you also notice that there's an oddly colored pillar in the section with the previous chest in it. You plant your feet and ready yourself, Power Gloves on, and lift. "Hrt... RAH!" It's still HEAVY, but with the gloves on you feel like you can legitimately lift it. You give it a toss, moving it away. Aha! There's a switch behind it. Flipping it finally raises the bars in the room.

"Sweet, looks like we're good to go, Termina." Horon comments, strolling off.

You and Horon move on back above, to the middle room, headed for the door to the right. Along the way, he asks you, "So Termina, what other places have you been to?"

"I've made brief stops in Ordon Town and at Lon Lon Ranch. Met some others who've helped me on my travels."

"Oh sweet, Lon Lon Ranch? Did you happen to catch Captain Douglass racing?" he asks.

You shake your head no. "I was there only briefly. Though... perhaps I saw him on my way back here." you recall the odd scene. "You?"

"I've met him a few times. Swell guy." Horon states with a smile. "I also met some knight in red and gold armor, or at least that's what it looked like. Quiet person, we parted ways as he went off to Valenz town just north of here."

You raise your eyebrow. A knight in armor of red and gold, headed north. Hrmn. Sounds like something worth investigating some time. Upon reaching the door, you discover it leads to a room above it. "Horon, think you can light those torches? It'll be safer than either of us trying to head down there." you ask, carefully watching the pattern of the sliding traps.

"Pfah, too easy." He raises his hands and... well, starts flinging the fireballs fairly randomly. He's not even trying to aim.

"H-Horon- HORON!" you shout.

After about 15 volleys, he stops. "What?"

"Remember what I told you about being careful?" you ask, frowning.

"Tch, I got most of them!" he comments, 10 of the 12 torches lit. One at the very back, and one right behind it.

You look back at the traps. All but two at the back have stopped, and you could probably make it through easily now, but maybe it'd be better if you have him practice more with that skill.

You place your hands on your hips, frowning. "Horon, it's more than that. You really do need to focus on your aim. If you aren't careful, you could really hurt someone, or yourself." You bring out your Crossbow, unloaded, to give him an example. "Aim and shoot, like a bow, don't just throw this out randomly."

He clearly pretends to focus, but you can tell he isn't. He makes a casual fling of the fire that builds up in his palm, throwing it in the direction of one of the torches. "You happy now?"

Given that it clearly missed the torch, no, no you are not. You sigh, placing one hand on the back of his. "Think of it this way, if these things weren't stationary, you'd be in a lot of trouble, would you not?" You move your hand back with his, taking aim. "Now, let's try this again." Just from how the gloves seem to work, you can tell it's more like throwing a ball, or perhaps trying to skip a stone across a pond. "Fire!"

Horon builds up some flame again, and follows through with you as you move your hands. A direct hit! He seems a little surprised. You follow this through with the second shot, and it too makes its target. The path is clear. Horon gives a celebratory pump of his fist into the air... his other arm's elbow accidentally hitting you in the chest. You move back a little, flinching, as Horon backs away, face reddening slightly. "Ah, crap, sorry!"

You shake it off. "It's fine. But that's why you need to be careful, this isn't a game."

"R-right, Termina..."

Felicia is smiling at you, like this is a real breakthrough. "Nice work!"

You move on down to the end of the hallway, and get a chest with... Oh wow! 100 Rupees! That's quite a score. You give Horon a look like you're about to ask if he wants to split it, but he shakes his head, declining.

There's something odd about this wall, though. Two of the symbols on it almost look like.. hands?

>>

You give the wall a push with the Power Gloves, and it slowly starts to move. Again you can feel the sheer weight of the slab of stone as you push, but it seems like you can almost move it with ease. Eventually you feel a hole beneath it, and the wall slides down, revealing a door.

You check inside, and retrieve a Key from the chest there!

Horon gives a stretch, then places his hands behind his head. "So, where to next, Termina?"

"We check this floor first, clear it out before we head back down." you tell the boy.

Thankfully, the more quiet path is that way for a reason, there's nothing there to bother you... but that becomes worrying. You head into the room ahead... and the door slams shut behind you and Horon. It seems like this room is long, longer than the previous one, and slightly narrow. But before you can really investigate, there's movement up ahead.

Dodongos.

Three of them, and they aren't babies. Two seem to be patrolling the areas in the back, while one is just ahead of you.

You've got a fight on your hands.

To get the monster's attention, you swiftly bring up your crossbow and fire at its tail. It lets out a roar, turning to you and slowly moving towards you. Horon tries to flank it, preparing to blast it with some of his flames, but it notices him and quickly takes a swipe at him with its tail. He's knocked back, and the monster quickly faces him, taking in air... just in time for you to roll to him and fling a bomb down the monster's throat. It explodes inside the Dodongo's gut, stunning the creature, and letting you get a chance of stabbing at it with your Sword Beam.

Horon manages to recover, blasting it with some flame as its stunned. The creature's injured, but not down yet, and it sounds like your scuffle has alerted the other two...

"Zas, let's even these odds!" you shout, readying yourself. The Phantom dashes at the stunned Dodongo, giving a swing of his mighty blade in its side. The Dodongo finally falls, Zas moving away just in time for the explosion to not catch him off-guard.

Horon stares at the Phantom Knight, slightly shocked, but not for the reason you first suspect. "Did... did you say 'Zas?!'"

"Time for questions after the monsters are dead." you tell him. "There are two left."

You and Horon end up back to back, Zas with the two of you as the other Dodongos converge on you. One attempts to breathe its flames on Horon, but the boy lobs a fireball at its throat, hurting it and allowing him a chance to get away. You on the other hand move at the other Dodongo, firing a bolt with your crossbow at its tail, but gettin swiped aside as you attempt another Sword Beam at it. Zas moves to you, ready to defend you, as Horon manages to fling another fireball at the Dodongo pestering him.

You pull out a bomb and lock eyes with one of the Dodongos. It starts to take a deep breath, but stops, trying to trick you up. You've already moved towards it, jumping at the monster and slamming the bomb into its mouth. It is stunned, falling to the ground... giving Zas enough time to rush the monster, plunging his blade into its side with enough force to fling it into the air slightly, then slam it back down on the monster again.

Zas slowly floats away from the Dodongo as it explodes. Horon meanwhile finishes his work with the other Dodongo, bringing his own sword down on the creature's tail after he pelted it with enough blasts of fire. He flips back and strikes a pose, a cocky smirk on his face as he watches the monster explode as well.

"His spirit was stuck lurking beneath the Temple of Hylia, by the one who is responsible for the messes I've told you about, if my information is correct." you explain.

"Wait, was he at Her Grace's temple?" Horon questions.

"Zas can speak, he can explain it to you if he wishes. Further questions can wait until we're done with the Temple." Heading over, you check through some pots and jars in the room. You manage to get your health back up to full, and restore your Magic.

[Hearts: 6/6]
[Magic: 5/5 (Z)]

Horon moves to you with some bombs, talking with Zas as he hands them over. "She's really done all that?"

"Indeed." the phantom replies.

Horon looks to you apologetically. "Ah... wow, Miss Termina. I... well, really, I'm glad we're on the same quest."

You nod. "I thank you for that."

[Bombs: 10/10]

Looking around the room, you notice some odd things. There's a column of that silky substance around one of the walls, but only a portion of it, and two pillars similar to the one in that room. At the very end of the hall, there are a twin pair of doors, one on each side of the split.

You stand by the silky pillar, making sure your ally is healed, then telling the boy, "Horon. Light it up."

He cracks his knuckles. "With gusto." A pair of fireballs consume the silky substance, revealing it was not a true pillar at all. Neither wall was connected, and instead there's a gap there.

With a chest in it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ppy8d8_iEQo

You got the Temple Map!

Looking it over, it seems there are some chests hidden in this room, might be where the pillars are, and some in the room above. You look over it curiously and notice something. There's a room on the first floor, but it's not connected to anything, and there seems to be old, scribbled-on drawings of skulls around it and "DO NOT ENTER" in an older style of Hylian writing than what you're used to, with the picture of... looks like a little stick figure trio, two female and a male, crossing their arms. "Termina, you're making a strange face." Horon comments.

"I am not." you insist, definitely not worried you're going to end up in that room. Instead, you're, moving to one of the pillars. "Let's check if there's anything in here first."

With a mighty lift, you fling the pillar away, revealing a small room. And inside... well aha!

A [Boss Key]!

And, with a smile on our face that is not at all forced, you quickly move to the other side of the room, there's another one! Matching pair!

You sigh. "I... am sure we are going to end up in that room."

"What r-" You show Horon the map. "...oh. That room."

You sulk a little, but figure it can't be helped. Entering the room ahead of you, you notice that there are murals on the walls. You recognize a few figures... aha! It's her, it's them! The girl Hero in Green, and her allies. You see... huh. The one with Power, facing a creature. A large creature, he's completely dwarfed by it. The other two Heroes are shown battling it with him, the Hero in Green attacking, while the one with Wisdom seems to... be doing something to it. Seems like some kind of magic. There...

There's a name for it, but it's worn down. You can make out... "Do... r... asque."

Horon looks over it, confused. "The heck is a 'Dorasque?'"

"The name is incomplete, but seems like it might be related to the Dodongo." you tell him, noting its physical structures. Inside there are two chests, each blocked off by some more of that silky substance, but Horon makes quick work of them. Inside one is... aha! Another [Key]! Horon checks out the other, retrieving... 50 Rupees, a good find.

You look around the room some, Horon telling you that he's going to check out the room you came in, insisting to Felicia that he really IS going to check. You look through the room, searching harder... but while this does seem like the place, it's getting you nothing. No Mark of the Hero.

"Something troubles you." Zas comments, clearly forcing himself not to call you "Princess."

"I am not sure about this temple's... secret. There seems to be something in here that may put me in over my head..." you admit, searching through the walls. You see a picture of... a woman, dancing. There's something about how she's drawn that seems familiar. She's... maybe she's the Great Fairy.

"You have done well before." Zas comments. "Do not lose faith in yourself now." He looks to the door. "Or do you worry of someone under your watch getting in over their head as well?"

"Perhaps I do, for good reason." you respond. The way these pictures are set up... wait a minute.

"That is a feeling I am all too familiar with." Zas tells you. "But your leadership and Wisdom are apparent even at your age. When the time comes, you will do the right thing. I have faith in you."

"I thank you, Zas. Now, if you'll move for a moment..." Of course. You first strike a pose like the first picture in this line, then take the next. You motion through them all, practicing at first. Then you connect them, into a true dance. You... feel strangely warm as you dance through the section of the room.

Upon completing it, you hear a click.

A small section of the wall moves... Huh. Is... that the Hero's Mark you're seeking? It looks like a small drawing, a... portrait? Wait a minute. This... this was a Zelda of the past! This was... this was HER! But it's so well-preserved, how did this parchment last so long? On the back you notice a some text, but most of it seems to have been lost. The only words you can make out are "To my b...v..." at the start and "your brother will" in the middle, with it signed with a small heart next to it...

The name is lost to time.

"Why were you dancing?" Horon's voice asks, making it sound less like a question and more like a bemused statement.

A. It's not important
B. The wall, there was a secret

I think this is what the Goron chief wanted us to bring back for a Piece of Heart.

"It was nothing important. But... it was personal." you state, looking away slightly.

Horon raises an eyebrow, about to say something, but decides against it. "Personal. Sure."

"L-look, it was on the wall. And..."

Horon takes a glance at it. "Huh. Right. You... do you, Termina. Like I said before, not going to judge on your preferences."

Your eye twitches. Back to that again, is he? Well, at least he seems to be honest about it. You all head back down, to the main floor, and into the final room. In addition to a modest-looking hall, with a shrine to Din at the end for worship, there are two further rooms, each requiring a key.

Fun fact in the first two Mario games (Donkey Kong and Mario Bross) you not only could go left you actually needed to.

You enter the room to the left. At first it seems unusually dark, save a tiny sliver of light illuminating a chest. You bring out your lantern for some extra light.

You almost immediately regret that.

The ceiling seems to be COVERED by sleeping Keese. They... haven't noticed you yet.

"Zas, do you think you could... you know, check to see if that chest it worth it? See what's inside?" you ask quietly, Horon shaking as he notices the sheer number of Keese on the ceiling. The Phantom silently floats towards the chest, each moment feeling longer than the last as the slightest movement seems like it could set the monsters off.

"Termina. Hurry up. I'm getting antsy here." Horon mumbles.

Zas peers through the chest, then slowly floats back to you. "It seems to be a Silver Rupee."

100 Rupees.

You slowly start to leave, not trying to wake the horde of Keese. Horon turns his head and asks you, "Termina, what are you doing? 100 Rupees!"

You quickly drag him out and close the door. Giving a sigh of relief, you tell him, "Money isn't always worth it. You need to prioritize your resources, and I doubt either of us could really make it through there without depleting a significant amount of them. Bombs especially."

The other room isn't as threatening, but you to notice some baby Dodongos surrounding a chest in the distance. There's also a pillar, and the map seems to show it leading to a staircase...

>A. Chest later, head up the staircase

Okay, 3d10, best of three. DC is 4 for all!

You smirk slightly. "Now this, Horon? This is more doable." You draw your blade and stab, firing a Sword Beam. It hits one of the baby Dodongos, alerting them to your presence.

"That it is, hah!" He attempts to give a fancy, stylish toss of a fireball at the incoming Dodongos, only to trip on his cape right as he flings it. To his luck, it still flies true, striking one of the group.

"Focus, Horon. Like I showed you!" you tell the boy, giving another Sword Beam stab, this time hitting one Dodongo hard, downing it immediately.

He pushes himself back up. "Right, right, sorry!" This time, he gets it. He carefully fires at the incoming baby Dodongos, catching some more.

A final strike from your blade, and it's done. The downed Dodongos start to explode, catching the few injured ones left in the explosions. You and Horon smile and nod at each other, heading to the chest, you getting lucky as you find some crossbow bolts on the floor. In the chest is...

Of all things, a [Piece of Heart]! That completes the set for you!

[Hearts: 7/7]
[Crossbow: 10/10]

With that done, you're free to move on up to the next area. With the pillar moved, there's only one thing left to do. Head through the door.

>A. Check the area first, maybe see if you can find some fairies
>B. Keaton, think there's anything else to do?
>C. You're good, head on through!

You scour the room, trying to see if there's a spare fairy roaming the place. To your luck, you do find one, though she seems a little... skittish. Hiding in a pot, she only barely pokes her head out when she notices Felicia nearby. "...a-are you friendly?" she asks in a soft, scared voice.

"We are, what troubles you?" you question, kneeling down to her level.

She gulps. "There's... there's a Goron in there. He's... he's not well."

"What do you mean he's 'Not well?'" Horon asks, arms crossed and looking at her suspiciously.

"There's something wrong... wrong with his face." she mumbles. "Great Fairy... told him to leave, but he locked himself in. He'll..." She hides back in the jar. "He'll wake it."

"Wake what?" you ask.

"The Sealed Tyrant. Dare not speak its name." she mutters.

You and Horon look at each other, Felicia helping the fairy out of the pot. "Is... is it really at risk of waking?" she questions.

"I don't know but he's there, and he's making such a ruckus..." she mutters. "Too scared to move. Can't leave. Can't call for help or he'll know I left."

"Fairy, we will stop him. Do not fear." you tell her warmly. "That is a promise."

She reluctantly follows you, cowering behind your shoulder. You and Horon open the door...

"LET. ME. IN." a voice shouts, banging on the sealed door to the Great Fairy's fountain. "LET. ME. HEAL."

"Goron!" Horon calls to him. "You leave this place alone! Or we'll kick your ass right into the lava outside!"

"What ails you, sir?" you question.

His face turns, and you see exactly what is wrong. He's... disfigured, it's like his face is broken. His movement is... uncanny, awful. His limbs twitch suddenly as his head jerks. "HEAL... HEAL... MAKE IT GONE..."

"M-make what gone?" you ask.

"S-S-S-SEEEAAAAAALLLL!" he roars, body flopping on the ground and convulsing. "MAKE... SEAL... GONE..." Hid body starts to disfigure further, parts of it becoming a horrid mesh of Goron... and Dodongo.

You and Horon ready yourselves. "...forgive us, please."

"HEAL... SEALED... MAJESTY... DO... DODONGO... DODONGORASQUE."
