As Tao comes charging with his knife, he raises the arm it's attached to over his head, slashing downward as he reaches you.

You jump back, avoiding his attack while throwing a powerful kick that strikes him in the side of his face with enough force to make him do a one-hundred-eighty degree turn.

With his back to you, you're able to land some more hits, moving forward and kicking the back of his knee, causing it to fall out from under him, leaving him further vulnerable to a punch to the back of his neck, which knocks him out cold much like your attack did to Goku.

"Hmph, useless," Piccolo comments, watching the unconscious mercenary slump to the ground. "That's fine, I was hoping to fight you one on one, anyway."

The demons steps toward you, removing his turban and cape and casting them aside.

"I've dreamed of this day for over three years," he tells you, cracking his knuckles. "I'll finally take revenge for what you did to King Piccolo."

Tao's out of the battle, at least for now. Now, you face Piccolo alone.

Goku was able to dominate this demon in the World Tournament, but Piccolo had been holding back for much of the battle. Besides, you've used some energy fighting Goku and Tao. It won't do to take Piccolo lightly.

"I hope you're ready to die again," Piccolo tells you, dropping into a fighting stance. "Because when I kill you, I promise you won't be coming back!"

You hold your right hand out toward Piccolo, firing a ball of light from your palm.

It shoots right past Piccolo as he leans out of the way, but you move your right arm, guiding the shot back toward Piccolo. Unfortunately, he seems to realize you're up to something, and glances over his shoulder, seeing the attack coming.

Piccolo, jumps out of the way, and your blast comes right for you. You begin to alter its course once again, but Piccolo fires beams of light from his eyes, striking the blast and causing it to detonate.

Smoke obscures your view of Piccolo, but seconds later, you see his fist come flying from within the cloud just before it strikes you in the face, throwing you against a chunk of the wreckage.

The smoke clears, showing Piccolo back on the ground. He smirks as he steps toward you, seeming to have all the confidence in the world that he'll defeat you.

"Don't tell me that's all you've got," he says as he steps closer.

This seems as good a time as any to use your Lightning Punch, so you quickly channel energy into your right hand, which begins to crackle with electricity.

Piccolo attempts to use his free arm to elbow you, but you duck beneath the strike as you finish preparing your own attack. You rise back up, and hit Piccolo in the face with the full force of your attack.

The demon cries out in pain, both from the force of your punch, and from the electricity that your attack sends coursing through his body.

You attempt to strike him again with the same attack, but he leans his head back, causing the punch to shoot right past it. He then leans forward and bites down on your arm, drawing blood, and causing you significant pain.

In answer, you slam your left knee into his gut, and he hunches over, releasing your arm before pulling his own free and leaping back.

He lands a short distance away, holding his hands out toward you, his body beginning to glow.

"You'll pay for that, you human scum!" he declares. "Get ready to die!"

This seems to be the same attack King Piccolo intended to use against you in your battle, and the same attack you interrupted at the World Martial Arts Tournament.

If that's the case, you can't let him use it.

You rush toward Piccolo at full speed, making it appear as though you simply intend to charge him and attack. Instead, what you end up doing is using the Afterimage technique and attacking from behind.

Piccolo spins at the last moment, just in time to get a nice punch to the face that sends him staggering back. You follow-up with a swift series of strikes that quickly forces him into a retreat.

You can feel his energy, and you're pretty certain your power is greater than his. So long as you can maintain the advantage, you should be able to win this battle.

So, of course, things have to go wrong.

You feel the attack coming, giving yourself just enough time to move your head out of the way as a Dodon Ray goes shooting past it.

Glancing over, you spot Tao, back on his feet and looking quite angry. And, while you take some pleasure in having broken his cocky composure, you now find yourself fighting two foes at the same time.

With your focus temporarily shifted to Tao, Piccolo takes the opportunity to strike, thrusting his right arm toward you and firing a ball of light.

You don't have the time to gather your energy, and as the blast strikes your hands, it scorches them and throws you to the ground.

Tao rushes toward you, and you pull yourself to your feet just in time to mount a defense, narrowly avoiding being gutted by Tao's knife, but taking a nice cut to your side.

"You should have taken my offer, Tofoo," Tao tells you as you step back. "You could have survived this. But now you're facing the Demon King Piccolo, and the most perfect cyborg and assassin to ever live."

Piccolo chuckles. "He's got a point. I don't think the odds are in your favor, Tofoo."

Attacking one of these bastards will leave you vulnerable to attack from the other, so that's pretty much off the table. You can try going on the defensive, but you doubt that you'll be able to fend both of them off.

What you need is a way to get a solid hit on both of them, and you can really only think of one way to make that happen. You haven't used this technique much, as your first attempts at it ended poorly, but it seems as though you have little choice. If you can't do something to turn the tide of battle back in your favor, you're going to die, and there will be no return for you.

As you get into a defensive stance, you frown. This technique packs a punch, but you doubt that it will be enough to take one of them out of the battle.

Oh well, at least it should hurt them, and if all you can manage before dying is one last insult, then you guess you'll take it.

"DIE!" Piccolo shouts, rushing toward you.

Tao does the same, and the two of them quickly close in.

With a yell, you send your energy flying in all directions, and your two opponents rush right into it.

Each of them are thrown to the ground, and you take the opportunity to catch your breath.

Tao and Piccolo both have some pretty nasty scorch-marks, though the actual damage is more evident on the demon, who's all flesh and blood rather than machine.

Still, as you thought, the attack wasn't nearly enough to take either of them out, and they both pick themselves back up.

"Nice try," Piccolo tells you. "You're as stubborn as I remember."

"But, that attack took a good deal of your energy," Tao notes. "You don't have long now."

The two warriors begin to close in, when you feel something fast approaching.

Piccolo feels it too, glancing up at the sky and letting out a shocked gasp.

"Hmm?" Tao frowns, looking up as well.

"You should be anything but glad to see me," Kami warns before glancing back at Piccolo.

The demon looks nervous now, sweat dripping down his face as he begins to tremble.

"You seem nervous, Piccolo," Kami observes, stepping toward the demon. "But you couldn't be afraid of me, could you?"

"You old fool, you think you scare me?" Piccolo demands. "You won't do anything to me. Our lives are connected; if you kill me, you die as well."

"I am prepared to give me life for this world, if that is what it takes," Kami tells Piccolo, who cries out in fear. "But I still have no intention of dying. The humans of this world have taught me a method of dealing with you without taking your life."

The Guardian frowns. "Of course, I'd be happy to put you in your place before I finish this."

One heads right toward the tree, while you direct the other into the sky. It's at this time that Tao rises, holding his hand toward the Light Shot and shouting.

"DODON RAY!"

Several thin beam of light shoot out and strike the blast, causing it to detonate before it can reach him. He then looks up at the airborne attack, and destroys it in the same way.

"You're stronger than you were at the tournament," Tao admits. "My scanners detected the increase in your power level, but I didn't believe it at first."

His remaining hand falls off, revealing the built-in cannon from which he fired his Super Dodon Ray at Goku.

"Yes, you're far stronger than I'd wanted to believe," Tao tells you. "But still not strong enough. My Super Dodon Ray will be your end."

It seems off of him to think that, since it wasn't enough to kill, or even seriously injure Goku. You might not be quite as strong as your friend, but a similar blast still shouldn't be enough to do you in.

"I know what you're thinking," Tao tells you. "But I wasn't using the ray to its full effect when I attacked Goku. I can calibrate it to use a certain amount of my power. If I use too much, my systems suffer for it until I can regain my lost energy. But, seeing as you're my only remaining foe, it's worth the temporary weakness."

He holds his arm toward you, and you see a glow emanating from it.

"And in case you think you can just dodge this attack, think again," Tao warns. "It's locked on to your energy signature, and will follow you no matter where you run. Are you ready to die, boy?"

If Tao isn't bluffing, then there's really only one way you can think of to keep yourself alive. You doubt you can deflect a blast that powerful, and tanking it would probably be unwise.

You gather all of your energy, releasing it from your body at all points, much like the Explosive Wave technique. Unlike the Explosive Wave, however, you don't send it shooting in a blast, instead, you solidify it into a barrier that surrounds your body.

"You fool," Tao laughs. "SUPER DODON RAY!"

A colossal wave of energy shoots from Tao's arm, covering the distance between you in an instant and striking your barrier.

The barrier shatters from the impact, but stops the attack itself from hitting you. You're thrown to the ground from the force of it all. And, while not injured from the attack, the immense cost of using that attack has left you absolutely exhausted.

For the next several seconds, you struggle to catch your breath. You sit up, and slowly get to your feet.

Tao is limping toward you, having difficulty catching his breath as well.

"I'm going to destroy you," he vows. "With this dagger, I'll slit your throat, or cut out your heart! You will pay for every insult! You will pay for all you've done!"

"HAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Tao looks over, screaming as a massive wave of blue light shoots toward him, engulfing him before he has the chance to escape. His screams continue as the blast surrounds him, and when the attack stops, he falls to the ground, unmoving, and without a sound.

Looking in the direction from which the blast came, you spot Krillin, back on his feet, a tired smile on his face.

He chuckles at his accomplishment, then falls forward to the ground.

Walking's rarely a chore for you, but it pretty much hurts you with every step you take toward the fallen cyborg. When you reach Tao, you kneel beside him, listening for a heartbeat.

There's none.

Krillin has finished Tao. Hopefully, the mercenary is gone for good this time.

You feel a burst of energy behind you, and look to see Kami standing across from a terrified Piccolo, a tiny bottle sitting between the two of them as a swirling green light makes its way toward the demon.

The Mafuba. Perfect. If Kami can seal Piccolo away, then keep the bottle some place secure, the demon will never have to be worried about again.

"You've sealed your fate, old man," Piccolo declares. "Reverse Mafuba!"

The green light changes directions, heading back toward Kami, who looks in on it with terror. If Piccolo did what you think he just did, then Kami's in some serious trouble, and you can't reach him in time.

But, luckily, you don't have to. Krillin isn't the only one who managed to get back up.

At the last moment, Chichi tackles Kami out of the way, saving the Guardian from being sealed away by his own attack.

Piccolo growls with anger as the light fades away, and Kami rises back to his feet.

"It seems I have no choice, then," Kami tells Piccolo. "I will have to take your life."

Piccolo steps back, gritting his teeth in both anger and fear.

"Not today, old man!" he shouts, firing a blast of energy at the Guardian's feet.

Kami is thrown to the ground, and his vision of Piccolo is obscured, giving the demon the opportunity he needs to make his escape.

Piccolo flies off into the distance, leaving you and the other fighters to recover in peace.

You sluggishly move toward the guardian, who thankfully sees you coming and meets you halfway as Chichi rushes past you over to Krillin.

"You did well, Tofoo," Kami compliments when the two of you reach one another. "I am glad you were able to defeat Goku without taking his life."

"Is there any way to cure him?" you ask Kami.

"I believe I have something that will work," Kami confirms. "The Sacred Water from my Lookout."

"Wait, I thought the Sacred Water was just regular tap water," you tell Kami.

"Korin's may be regular tap water, but mine indeed has mystical properties," Kami assures you. "It was created to free minds from the hands of evil. It should do the trick of breaking a weak sorceress's control."

Once the Sacred Water cures Goku, that witch will be unable to take control of him again."

"So, can you take me and Goku to the Lookout then?" you ask.

"Yes," he tells you, putting a hand on your shoulder. "We'll leave right away."

The next thing you know, the two of you are on Kami's Lookout, and an unconscious Goku lies on the ground in front of you.

Mr. Popo approaches, looking at the three of you with a mixture of relief and worry.

"Welcome back," he tells the three of you. "Tofoo, I'm so glad you're back."

He looks toward the building. "But, enough about that until we help Goku. And, I imagine the two of you will have some things to discuss once he's awake."
