>The party has been shrunken by a mischievous spirit
>>
But will they be eaten whole?
>>
>>48876421

That is not within the power of a Kitsune.

They are however master illusionists, so I need only recognize she has illusioned the surroundings to appear big, or illusioned me to seem small.
>>
>>48876449
She's actually a big girl for you.
>>
>>48876449
That's not just some random Kitsune, it's Amaterasu.
>>
Guess where I'm crawling up into
>>
>>48876660

Amaterasu is not a Kitsune! She is a wolf!
>>
>>48876695
If amaterasu decides she wants to be a kitsune today, are you going to argue with her?
>>
>>48876695
She's also Tamamo no Mae and Best Caster.
>>
>>48876720

Of course I would, just because she's an Okami does not mean she's not above common sense.

The OP says its a mischievous spirit, so maybe, but it won't be fatal.
>>
what's even the point of mods anymore, I mean there's constant porn threads here, I mean obviously reporting does nothing, the fuck is chinamoot doing wasting money.

I've honestly always wanted to play a scenario/campaign like this, seems interesting
>>
>>48876965
>maybe, but it won't be fatal.
>mischievous spirit
That's an odd way to say PROBABALY won't be fatal

And considering this is a spirit she might not have a good idea what a mortal counts as fatal
Or just might not care
>>
>>48876660
>Amaterasu
>not Inari
>>
>>48877109
No idea about OP's pic but it looks like it's from something, so it might be Amaterasu, or anon would be wildly bullshitting as anon is prone to doing
>>
>>48877316
The only time Amaterasu is depicted as a wolf is in the game Okami, and her appearance in that game is significantly different from OP's picture, so anon is pulling our legs or one of those idiots who don't realize that Okami's whole premise is based on a pun.
>>
>>48877351
OP's pic doesn't look like a wolf though, and I thought only Kitsunes had the nine tails thing, though I don't know of any link between Amaterasu and Kitsunes
>>
DM, I swear to god if this is a fetish related event again
>>
>>48877383
Which is why I said Inari, the actual goddamn kitsune god.

But some googling shows it's from one of those Type-Moon games.

What sort of adventures?
>>
>>48878391
>Go out and fight giant spiders

>>
>>48877049
Had an idea for this at one point that used a witch in the middle of a swamp as the initiating factor. She specialized in size-changing magic, and would shrink anyone that attempted to attack her.

If the players decided to try and attack her for being there, she would do as she is wont to do, shrink them, and spirit them away back to her hut where she'd put them in a cage and taunt them about how they're her emergency food supply.

If they escape, they have to navigate their way out of the hut without waking her up, and then through the swamp back to the town to get the shrinking effect removed, and that's a three and a half mile walk at full size. They're at one-twelfth normal size, now.
>>
I could see a tiny "Dungeon Crawl" if you shrink a city's populace. Tiny adventurers going through castle sized houses to find supplies and survivors, and then dealing with the creatures that didn't get shrunk.
>>
>The party is given a pair of revolvers and 500 bullets each
>>
>>48878541
I'd play it, though I'd admit I'd be worried about balancing a 42 mile walk through the wilderness between interesting and tedious

Also it probably wouldn't get any easier once they reach town, rats, cats, ect, not to mention the danger from other people
>>
>>48878582
City exploring does sound interesting, would it just be people affected or would it be people + some animals?
In a fantasy setting a wizard/druid/other class with animal companion/familiar would be pretty overpowered if they still had their pet at normal size
>>
>>48878634
>you are, give or take, six inches tall
>you just walked, and camped, over the course of three days, across 42 miles of hostile gigantic swampland
>back in town
>manage to get a guard's attention
>feral alley cat shows up while he's getting the captain of the guard
>he comes back to an all-out battle across the counter of the guard station
>you're wounded
>the party wizard may be dying
>the rogue's disappeared
>the cleric fell off the counter
>manage to find the rogue and rouse the cleric, who got knocked out on impact with the ground
>cleric stabilizes the wizard
>town's healer removes the effect, taunting, "Now you see why we don't bother the witch."
>>
>>48878671
Probably wouldn't allow demonic type pets, but simple cats and dogs and ravens would work. Stat them properly and give enemy forces 1 or 2 ways to deal with them, then let the PCs deal with the situation
>>
>>48878430
>Shrink trap leads to spider "dungeon"
Ooh that's nasty, would feel like an asshole twist unless you had a few hints as to what is happening though

>>48878541
It's always bothered me that there's no cannon spell to reduce/enlarge something more than one size category

>>48878582
>>48878671
Something else to think of is timeframe
A city wouldn't stay a city for very long without people
Which could put a bit of pressure to find a cure/self-sustaining tiny lifestyle before it's too late
Assuming no one else moves in once they see an empty city or something

>>48878634
That would depend on the distance between encounters and their varieties
I can see it working
Very very little chance of social encounters unless you run into pixies or something
>>
>>48878541
Hot witch?
>>
>>48878727
I'm not gonna lie, this would just make me want to get an X of teleportation and prep spells to nuke the witch, maybe not now, but eventually
Maybe find a way to steal that spell though

>>48878729
>BBEG is a ranger
>Bastard had a raven animal companion
>It might as well be a dragon at your size
>>
>>48878744
There is one for enlarge. Problem is, it's from Complete Arcane, it's 7th level, Wu Jen only, and Personal/You.

I'd probably do it in 3e BESM, if anything.

>>48878763
Depends on your definition. Originally, she was meant to be a kobold with a snake-like prehensile tail two to three times as long as she is tall. She has smooth snake scales, and coarser scales instead of standard ridges or horns over her eyes. She's visually appealing in the way most venomous snakes are, but I don't know if that's, "hot," to you.

Also, super-long snake tail and legs might be a turn-off to some people? I don't know.

>>48878856
Don't really understand what you're saying anon
>>
>>48878873
You would be correct, got a thing for scallies, and while I'd prefer it to not bad end, I wouldn't be opposed to it
>>
>>48878809
>>48878744
It's probably for the best that there isn't one. It'd be too easy for a Wizard or other Caster to start throwing that around. /tg/ would be inundated with people asking what they can do to toe tall kobolds and if it doesn't break alignment if they keep a shrunken bandit as a pet, like a dog.
>>
>>48878915
True, and it would probably require a closer look to balance the size rules, ironically in most cases shrinking to fine size would be a huge buff, assuming you're not a Str build and avoid a grapple at least
>>
>>48878874
3e's kinda okay for a d6 system, but it's not the end-all, be-all. It's fairly open-ended a system, but devoted to being fairly anime-like.

The d20 version's shit. They talk, on-and-fucking-on about how it, "fixes," everything wrong with d20, when it actually ruins a lot of what's good with it and makes it really fucking hard to play. Like making grappling rules use the initiator's full grapple check versus target's unaltered Strength check.

Hur-hur. Snake tail and a regular pair of legs.

>>48878898
If you make yourself useful she has other places to put you. This is all I will say on this subject.

>>48878915
Too true, but the groundwork is there. The version for enlarging exists, and if someone wanted to make a reducing version, the rules support just having it be 7th level and being fairly easy to make for a new spell.
>>
>>48878915
Honestly it wouldn't be too different from how /tg/ normally is

>>
>>48878969
Oh, the know threw me off
I get the feeling the fae would probably consume something metaphysical, like take a look at changeling the lost, you may want to standardize it though if you want to make a template or something

Maybe consume their name?
So the fae can metaphysically control/become them when they want?
I guess in D&D I'd put it like massively weaker to charm/compulsions towards the fae that "ate" them and the world would twist things that should go to the person to the fae if it wants, not sure how to do the latter beyond everyone IC acting like the fae is them though

Though that's more a doppelganger that can mindcontrol the victim and make others not realize anything's amiss by there being two of the guy
>>
>>48878981
The d20 version can be made to work, but you have to be willing to rip out a lot of nonsense rules and put the originals back in.
Use base d20 modern, or whatever d20 system you're most comfortable with, but use the character and monster creation rules, and maybe some of the feats, from BESM d20, and it'll be a whole lot better than baseline BESM d20.

I know. S'fine.

I am apparently really good at teasing other peoples' fetishes. And giving people new fetishes. Gave a player a fetish for muscular women, dickgirls, and physically accurate spotted hyena gnolls.

I'd probably just look into the d6 version in that case if only to simplify where to find the rules, though I probably should take a look at the d20 and d6 rules before coming to a decision like that

>I am apparently really good at teasing other peoples' fetishes. And giving people new fetishes. Gave a player a fetish for muscular women, dickgirls, and physically accurate spotted hyena gnolls.

>>
>>48878969
>>48879019
Thinking about this more, unless you want them to physically lose bodyparts (not an unrealistic prospect with the fae), fae would probably consume things like names/shadows, something like that could possibly have SAN loss like effects, massively reduce their WILL saves, make them unlucky, make them seem/feel unreal/fading out of reality, hell it could trap them in fairy world
I guess before I keep spouting random ideas, what sort of thing did you have in mind?

>>
>>48899651

Wandering eye and all that, it's a non-issue for Tamamo since she's enough of an experienced woman to satisfy any man.

But her sulking is pretty hardcore, she muses on ways to curse you if she finds out you're talking to another girl, concluding that terrible stomach pain from moldy bread is the suitable punishment.
>>
>>48899697
>you're talking to another girl

Pic related, a much worse magical obsessive wife.
>>
>>48891524
Wouldn't that make the game better for martial damage to still count as medium size when you're diminutive?
>>
>>48899802
>>48899697
That was prior to any commitment. She mused about the cursing thing, but ultimately did nothing beyond complaining about how you don't seem to pay any attention to her despite all her efforts to help you. Even if you tell her outright that you're in love with someone else, she accepts it. If you reassure her that she's the only one for you, then she doesn't really mind casual interaction with others, for she knows that she has already won.

Basically, Tamamo is possessive, but also mature enough to not blow her fuse at every small thing. She's nowhere near as bad as Kiyohime.

Gilgamesh was considered Good. As in the guy who literally tries to destroy the fucking world in Unlimited Blade Works and encourages Kirei to be a serial killer in Fate/Zero because he was fucking bored. Then starts creeping on Saber.

If that guy's good, evil is probably preferable.

I feel like shrinking/growth magic of higher magnitudes than just cutting or doubling height would be extremely overpowered. How would you balance the fact that your mage could just shrink a warlord and step on him? Give it a low success rate? Easy to resist? Have a chance of it backfiring?

By RAW shrinking/growing doesn't make you more durable, infact shrinking makes you harder to hit

The spell depends on magic runes enclosing a volume of space, which is easy to set up for a willing target, but can be very difficult for an unwilling target.

Instead of "zap the warlord", it becomes "paint runes over the warlord's ship without him noticing, the zap the ship when he's on board". Still possible and still funny if it works, but it takes a lot of work to pull it off.

>>
>>48941853
Nah, basically it was just used for RP, quests and mobs were bugged. Everyone just had GM command so folks could scale their sizes to whatever and use any spell without cool downs or mana usage. It makes sense for ranged weapons for sure, but for anything else, it really doesn't. The thing that makes small animals like mice difficult to grab (I've owned several pet mice before) is that for their size they're quick as fuck.

Humans are not fast creatures for their size - in fact, we're fairly slow. I could see a very agile, high level rogue type character dodging huge attacks (just like a high level fighter would be able to just tank the hit), but a normal person would just go splat.

>>48942562
Come to think of it, I'm not sure if by RAW shrinking someone reduces their speed
>>
So, how would people run/balance this properly so that those who in theory are not affected by size change would not outpace the others? Personally, I would treat it as everything else getting scaled up accordingly for ease of use, with the challenges being titanic on a mundane scale. I would also have magic scaled to it based on the reagents, personally, though certain spells would be unaffected, like mage hand. This would be primarily because the reagents that are required would likely have shrunk as well, making the scale of the spell likely diminish considerably. That said, it would also serve to help protect the players too, as then they are unlikely to get fried by, say, an erroneous fireball flung by the wizard. That said, a normal sized wand or reagent for a spell would be like a super sized version to the tiny players, allowing for a dramatic moment now and then where they set up something like, say, a magic missile wand to fend off a hippogriff or owlbear cub.
>>
>>48944097
It should, I think you would have to make special buffs for something being larger than colossal to another creature, there is no way a Fine creature like a Pixie using a little sword should be able to hurt something Huge or bigger without some kind of magic effect or by being an insane level. As such someone shrunken down should have little effect with melee on something so big their skin is so thick the blade barely punctures it. With speed the Pixie however would be used to being tiny and is made in a way that they still move fast, however a human would move much slower being tiny due to not having wings or any kind of magic to aid them in fast movement.

I guess I'm of two minds depending on what the game is going for but unless they want to be tiny superheros, I'd mechanically set them as normal and restat things for their new size

Though admittedly half of me wants to NOT balance it, just to see how things turn out, or if I do balance it, at most do things mostly by RAW where spells have the same size, hp is not affected, but hitting/getting hit becomes really really HARD

>>48944948
The draconomicon has Colossal+ sized dragons and an explanation on how to handle things bigger than colossal, it's pretty much just adding a pseudo size category to it and applying the extrapolated effects of being one (or more) steps above colossal but that isn't close to what you want, quite simply D&D isn't designed to handle size differences of that type unless you're epic level
>>
>>48945815
>Who cares how many guys a woman has had before if she's perfectly devoted now and isn't ever thinking about those other guys?

Way too many people get upset their woman has a richer sexual history than they do, even if their woman is devoted to them and lavishes love and attention on them every waking moment they're together. It's why so many Robots on /r9k/ want virgins and think any girl that has a penis inside them before marriage is "tainted."

Which gets absolutely obnoxious with Tamamo-no-Mae considering she's utterly devoted to the self-insert MC and, by her nature as a divine being (and as >>48912558 says) she's physically a virgin, and you still get people that get angry at the thought she might have sucked the Emperor's dick.

Heroic Spirits effectively don't exist outside of the Holy Grail War, and if they win the tourenament they're rewarded with their heart's desire (both Master and Servant get to wish on a powerful artifact that can grant miracles) so most of them are ostensibly participating willingly, yes (especially since killing the other Servants IS what provides enough magical energy for the artifact to perform the miracles).

Tamamo is a bit of an exception, being that she's a goddess, although I think that specific identity (as opposed to being a subsumed component of Amaterasu) might be dependent on being summoned. She's also unique in that her greatest wish DOESN'T require a miracle to pull off (namely, live an idyllic married life with her summoner, as a beloved and appreciated perfect wife), but there's still the fact that every OTHER Servant needs to kill her or her Master to get THEIR wish.
>>
>>48949866
It's a bit more complicated than that. What Tamamo seeks is not necessarily a happy married life, but happiness born from single-minded devotion to someone and having that devotion reciprocated in equal measure. After all, she was originally an aspect of Amaterasu that was incarnated as a mortal because the Goddess grew curious of how humans, despite their comparatively dogshit lives, could find joy and salvation in devoting themselves to venerating the Gods.

The love aspect of her relationship with her master is something she pushes herself regardless of her initial impressions. As long as her master isn't outright evil, she doesn't mind devoting herself to them regardless of whether she actually falls in love or not, because what she as a person represents is the ideal of single-minded and steadfast devotion and actual love being born from that is both secondary and something she doesn't actually expect to happen.

So her giggly cutsey-poo attitude is an act perpetuated by a curious goddess trying to maximize her chances of being endearing towards her husband?

I'm vaguely insulted she keeps the same act regardless of her master, I want to see a suave, sexy and very mature Tamamo.

It's a space setting you can find on Deviantart. Don't worry, that's just where they are storing things. A quick summary is that most of the races in the galaxy are the product of genetic tampering. This tampering has been going on for eons in different places (Advanced Aliens "A" find Primitive Race "B" and mess with it's genome for /reason/, repeat throughout the galaxy). This results in some freaky differences between a species at times, like 'Umies finding 6" inch tall versions of themselves that some aliens had used as living PDAs and living Warhammer figurines, as well as 40' foot tall ones.

It's p. good, give it a look.

Meme magic/ Big fat cat tats

Guys, how do I make or get an enchanted spear with some effect along the lines of Gungnir or Gae Bolg's line that never misses?

Keep in mind that my character has zero practical knowledge of forging , enchanting, and is only level one. The setting of the game has Ki instead of magic.
>>
>>48969441
*Big Fat Fox Tats

I managed to build a 3.5 character once that was basically Lancer, combining auto confirms with big bad crit range on a spear but that shit was not worth it.
>>
>>48969490
I honestly didn't expect an answer, and while that is dissapointing, I do appreciate the input.

What I had in mind was something along the lines of sealing tattoos to resummon the spear back to me after it's thrown, but even that would be a fair amount of invested time.

How I would stat his spear in 3.5 (on the low-end). Getting access to a weapon like that at 1st level would require some broken ass bullshit.

Gae Bolg
Gae Bolg is treated as a +1 Spear with the Returning and Bane (Monsterous Humanoid) Enchantments.
As a Full Action, the user may throw the spear as if they were under the effect of the True Strike spell. This attack provokes an Attack of Opportunity as per normal when making a ranged attack.
Moderate transmutation and/or Conjuration; CL 8th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, telekinesis, summon monster 1, True Strike; Price: 20,302

Cost Breakdown
Masterwork Spear: 305
+1 Enchancement + Returning and Bane(Monsteroud Humanoid): 18,000
Use-Activated (Command Word) True Strike: 2,000
>>
>>48969820
You could alternatively make it a Weapon of Legacy, but then it's explicitly broken

I don't suppose you have time to spec a higher end one, do you m8?

I doubt I can make it, but I am in it for the long haul.
>>
>>48969770
Taking that into account, there's a serious lack of fuTamamo
>>
>>48969881
Amping it up to full would increase the enchantment to +5 and adding Speed, increasing the cost to 202,302. That's all I can think of using just Core. If I had easy access to my other books and the MiC, which I don't at the moment, I'd probably pull off some major shenanigans.

Actually ran this. PCs included a mouse, a teddy bear and a fairy. It was a post-apocalyptic world where all humans were raptured at once. Their left over emotions left impacts on the world. Good emotions spawned fairies, animated toys and brought sapience to smaller creatures. Bad emotions made Darklings, twisted shadow creatures that hunt those born of positivity and hide from the light.

The party were scouts tasked in aiding the empire that held domain over their suburban home.
>>
>>48970554
That sounds cool as hell. I'm gonna steal this for a future campaign.
>>
>>48970554
What did you run this on?
5e?
3.5e?
>>
>>48970648
Savage Worlds, mang. Just made some custom races and sorta just statted it assuming action figure was the new human size. That said, a Cat would have the stats of a drake and a dog would have the stats of a dragon or purple worm.

>>48970591
By all means! I'll give you more to steal. Basically Darklings tended to be thickest around anywhere or anything that had trauma attached to it. The first time the players discovered this, they had found a twisted coat hangar under a bed that was constantly spawning Darklings.

In the game, one of the big bads was a brownie that was the war chief of a tribe in the forest. He would ritualistically consume the dust that Darklings left behind which sort of roided him out while twisting him even further. He was actually killed when the Players managed to maneuver him a little too close to where another big bad was staying, an owl named Rasmus. That did not turn out well for any party involved.

Holy shit, m8
Got any other neat moments you could share?
You know, before the thread kicks the bucket?

Shoot, maybe even start a thread for it. This sounds genuinely great.
>>
>>48970855
Nah, I'll keep it here. Expanding on what had happened to said chieftain and the owl, more or less the owl got roided too, though instead of getting physically stronger, the Rasmus was able to actually utilize the essence into spell like effects such as darkening an area around him or enhancing the paralyzing, freaky barn owl gaze he already had.

Due to him being a dick and them not getting medical treatment soon enough, the fairy PC lost a wing, an arm and a chunk of her torso before getting dropped from a second story building. The owl simply retreated just to torment them another day, at this point any anguish he caused was powering him more than actual food. Luckily, the PCs managed to get the fairy home before she was a hundred percent dead.

Come to think of it, I think that piece of shit was the most brutal villain I've had. So, the house/empire they were citizens of was actually guarded by a golden retriever which they scavenged food for. Towards the end, when Rasmus had just about reached the peak in his power he managed to lift the pooch off the ground and drop him twice to allow for Darklings to swarm the house.
>>
>>48970975
Another fun fact was that the "ancient civilization" before the rapture was dubbed "Biggins" by the empire. Due to their complex nature there was a high demand for people who could read Biggish. The mouse of the party was one of those said people, having been surviving in an attic surrounded by books for some time. This came into play whenever there was a complex device, manual or some form of map.

During the invasion of the Green Belt from the house empire, the scientists of the empire mostly lego minifigs Had managed to actually start the SUV in the garage and used it as a mobile fortress.
