It's OP is bored o'clock, so you know what that means!
It's TRAVELLER CHARGEN THREAD TIME!
Our current crew consists of:
Denglebert Jones, PTSD-ridden war hero/combat medic
(creation thread here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/48593389/)
Eszeph Ryan, semi-criminal Space Lawyer
(creation thread here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/48708304/)

>>48840122
Somewhat related but here's my version:
our enemy attacked us and we fell off the radar. We were space roofied and thrown out of the airlock, only to miraculously survive.
>>
>>48840288
How'd we survive? Space is inhospitable as it is without us being unconcious.
>>
>>48840339
Ok maybe not thrown out the airlock but instead sent off in an escape pod if that works.

>>48840371

>>
>>48840434
Well, we've established that Captain Den was operating in the 2300s, so this is a diffrent setting than the Third Imperium. The question of what they'd want is a good one, though.
>>

I like this one.
>>
>>48840491
Alright. How were we set up, and what was the act committed?
>>
>>48840517
I say we were set up as the patsy to a terrible massacre. As for how we were set up, I would have to say we were lured to an area following an SOS beacon (we followed this hoping to find some scavanable loot, not because we wanted to save the person) only to find that it was a space station/starship massacred and mutilated. The authorities found us and were quickly accused of a terrible massacre.

At least, that's my own vote.
>>
>>48840606
Are we going to spend the next few years working to clear our name? Not sure how I'd run that, but it sounds cool.
>>
>>48840630
If anything, I think our pirate crew would respect us for being a feared enemy of the state. Really depends on how you want to rule that but I like either option.

>we followed the beacon hoping to find some scavangable loot, not because we wanted to save anyone.

It might have been a free station that was loosely under federal control but dealt freely with pirates, smugglers, and other scum. Now both sides hate us.

>>48846048
If I'm reading the rolls right its:
STR: 10
DEX: 8
END: 11
INT: 6
EDU: 12
SOC: 8

So, we went to university and got involved in a shady government movement, went rogue and joined a pirate band. During a successful raid we made an enemy out of a rival pirate group. Later, we became a Captain of our owm ship but were set up for the Slaughter of Coughin's Post, forcing us to clear our name. We worked as Free Trader for some time, making friends with fellow trader Thomas Callahan who we saved from drifting in space. After seeing our fair share of space, selling our craft for some spare credits and signing onto the Carrhae. How does that sound?
>>
>>48846191
I think we worked for a free trader, we weren't the captain, much easier to keep a low profile as a pilot or first mate than as a captain. Maybe Callahan hooked us up with Denglebert.

We were a Pirate captain though.
>>
>>48849873
Yeah, but we had to seek a new identity after being framed for mass murder. It fits much better to be a ranking officer under a civilian merchant than to try and be a captain ourselves. Might not be much of a pay cut anyways.
>>
>>48850033
Yeah, I wouldn't think he'd be the captain of the Free Trader. We didn't get to that rank anyways.
>>
>>48849873

I think what he meant is that we were a pirate captain but decided to stay at the rank of an officer or first mate of a Free Trader ship.
>>
>>48850208
Were we even a pirate captain?
RAW, Captain is rank 6, and we only served 5 terms including university and on the free trader

>>
>>48850540
We had agreed that James was a patsy, right?

Maybe as far as the feds and the journalists know he was some dread pirate lord, when really he was just the guy the real captain stuck the cap on before he ran off
>>
>>48850540
>>48850747
Or it was just some shitty short ranged vessel. Modified runabout, shuttle, mining craft etc that is technically attached to a larger ship but had freedom of movement when the mothership isn't on a run/mission.
>>
>>48850747
>We had agreed that James was a patsy, right?
I like that.
>when really he was just the guy the real captain stuck the cap on before he ran off
So I'm a bit confused on this part. We were a corporal on the ship that we served on. On a scouting mission we ran into a distress signal and were set up as a killer on Coughin's Post. But why would the media see us as this deadly pirate captain when we weren't even the lieutenant of the captain, just a corporal?
>>48850835
This seems more likely.
>>
>>48850835
Sounds good. But why would James leave the life he has now? Seems like he's got everything going for him.
>>
