The evil spirit, which you´ve named "Iron Maiden" for it´s female appearance and metallic looks, complete with spikes covering it´s body, is the secret you´ve kept from everyone. It´s ability to control metals in a (rather crude) manner has proved useful to you in speeding up your work, but it´s range and precision are not great. You´ve tried to move it the furthest you can from your body, but your current maximum range is of 1 meter for the main body, and a 5 meter area for it´s abilities. It´s ability makes the metals move in a very hard to control manner, but you found out that you can make moving (or falling) metal stop in midair, as you realized when the tool rack almost fell on top of you. You wouldn´t have made it out of that one if it wasn´t for your spirit, which has made you appreciate it, rather than fear it. After all, it´s never hurt you before.

As you are working the fields, your father tells you that the army has begun recruiting people from villages forcibly, due to a lack of manpower. You reluctantly go to the town hall, where the Republicans are calling out the names of those that are to be recruited to follow into the fight. You guess the situation is not as good for the Republic as you originally though. A few things occur to me to reduce the impact of the war:
>Cut down Russian involvement in the war to minimum.

The conflict got so goddamn bloody partly because of the huuuge ammount of external influence, which caused the conflict to be extremely drawn out.

The weapons issue was specially prevalent. The Spanish civil war amounted to a testing ground for the armament that would be utilized during WW2, Spaniards lack of experience with such sophisticated armament was likely one of the main factors of the huge amount of casualties. That and a major lack of training of the Republican forces, a problem that only got worse as the war went on and the Republic scrambled to obtain more forces.

Russia was also a problem. It was thanks to the Russians that the republic managed to hold on so long, but at the same time they were some bloodthirsty fuckers. Political Commissars during the civil war had nothing to envy from 40K Commissars. They would out and execute anyone suspect of having ties with the fascists, no matter how small.

Actually my grandma's uncle died in one of such witch hunts. He was a republican combatant for the Republic in Barcelona until one day he showed up in HQ dressed with fine clothes like a burguoise. The local Commissar had him put against the wall and shot, no trial of course.

Tbh it probably wasn't a good time to go around dressed like a pimp.

Sure enough, Francisco is right beside you.

You decide to get up close and personal with the enemy stand user-Ignoring the fact that he´s probably got a gun, or at least a knife- You´re sure you can use your Stand to stop him from using those if you need to.
You walk towards him as if you still didn´t know where he was, looking away from him, when he tries to pounce upon you with his knife- Which you deflect using [Iron Maiden]´s power- And start pummeling on his face, using both your fist and your stand´s!
He reels back, his nose broken, and his face bruised, and then Francisco´s birds lose sight of him- as if the entire crowd had become a uniform blob.
Seems like he has more up his sleeve than you thought- And he threw away the knife so you wouldn´t be able to track him with it, after realizing what your Stand could do.

You notice the trail of blood he´s leaving slowly becoming normal ground again, so you rush to follow the trail- You need to find the enemy stand user again before he completely covers his tracks.

You run after the enemy, taking care of scanning everyone around you with [Iron Maiden]. Some of them carry weapons, and a few of them are carrying guns- but they seem completely unaware anything is happening. None have realized they´re being affected by the enemy stand- It seems people without Stands can´t notice the effects of this one.

You reach the man, who quickly notices you- and gets into a fighting stance.

His stand, much like his ability, is completely nondescript- With it´s major feature being a giant question mark over its blank face, and a small goatee. It´s otherwise a bland gray color.

Not so easy I fear. France denied supporting the republic, but they provided the most weapons out of any country. Also most weapons provided by other European countries and specially Russian ones were smuggled through the Pyrenees and through sea from Marseille (which would be a nice place to visit in the campaign).

Mexico also played a key role providing troops. They sent the most after Russia.

Honestly the only way I see to lower the bloodshed to a minimum would be to cause WW2. That was the big hope of the Republican government during the war, holding out long enough for WW2 to start and have all of Franco's foreign aid leave.

For it to work not only would we have to cause WW2 as soon as possible, but also get the USA into it right away, but doing so would not only reduce the bloodshed in Spain, but also likely reduce the casualties in Britain, prevent the occupation in France, keep Mussolini from invading the balkans (or was it just Greece?) and may even leave the Nazis no time to cause the holocaust.

So what do you say?, will you cause WW2?, will you make Pearl Harbor happen to save the world?

Also there's no need to actually MAKE Pearl Harbor happen. We just need USA to clare war to Germany. We don't actually need to factor Japan into the equation at all, although the plan would also prevent a lot of bloodshed in that part of the globe as well, shortening or outright preventing Japanese occupation of the Pacific.

i could read on that, we are at the starting stages of the war, so there's plenty of time to pan something out.

Just a thing, throwing the russians out would mean the fascists would likely win the war much faster. This would reduce the losses, but would also leave Franco in a position to give Hitler much more support, potentially changing the outcome of WW2.
