No, you aren't going to let it end like this; you have the power, you have the will, now it's time to use it.

With a yell of exertion, you do everything in your power to keep your energy together for long enough to end the match. Racing across the ring, you fight fatigue as you close the distance between yourself and Tao, giving a final punch to the face that throws your opponent off of his feet, and sends him flying from the ring.

You fall to the ground, your energy leaving you as Tao lands somewhere in the crowd. The exhaustion is unbelievable, and you fear that at any moment you will go unconscious.

"Tao has landed out of bounds!" the announcer shouts. "Tofoo proceeds to the finals!"


Reaching into your gi, you retrieve one of your two remaining Senzu Beans, managing to shove it into your mouth and bite down before you can pass out.

Chewing and swallowing, you feel your energy return, and you push yourself back up, taking in the cheers of the crowd.

You don't get to enjoy it for long, as you sense someone charging right at you.

Tao rushes into the ring, yelling at the top of his lungs as he thrusts a hand toward you, fingers aimed for your eyes.

Tao comes running, but you're ready for him; back at full strength, you can handle his shenanigans.

Parrying his strike, you reply to his aggression with another punch to his face, knocking him on his backside and sending him sliding away.

He flips over, getting into a crouch and rising up, scowling at you. You can pretty much feel the hatred radiating off of him, and know all too well what that means. He isn't going to restrain himself anymore. Now, he means to kill you.

If you get careless, you will lose much more than a match.

"The match is over!" the announcer shouts, approaching you and Tao. "Please, step out of the ring!"

"BE QUIET!" Tao snaps, turning toward the announcer. "I don't care about this damned tournament, I'm here for revenge!"

"Yes, Tao!" Shen shouts from the audience. "Kill him! Take your vengeance on him, for both of us!"

Goku, Krillin, and even Chichi start for the ring, and you spot the Crane Students rising from the audience, preparing to jump in as well.

He turns and walks toward the audience, specifically his brother.

"Shen, let's leave for now," he tells his older sibling.

"What?! Are you mad, Tao?" the Crane Hermit snaps. "He's right there! We can finish him!"

"No, my scanners tell me even together we would be no match for their combined power," Tao tells him. "Now, let's go."

Tao lifts into the air, soaring off into the distance. And, reluctantly, Shen does the same, throwing one last hateful glare in the direction of you and your friends before following his younger brother.

You've made it to the finals, and when you make it there, you will have either Goku or Piccolo waiting for you.

Time to find out which it will be.

You step past your friends, who congratulate you on your victory. Wishing Goku luck, you step out of the ring, turning around to observe what is sure to be an intense battle.

Krillin and Chichi clear the ring as well, coming to stand beside you and observe Goku's battle.

"Well, folks, that bit of excitement will be tough to follow!" the announcer calls. "This next match will decide who will face off against Goku in the final match! Both of these fighters achieved impressive victories in the quarterfinals, and will now compete for a shot at being World Champion of Martial Arts."

Goku takes his position in the ring, his posture relaxed, but his expression serious. Good, he won't be taking this battle lightly. You have faith in your friend's ability, but he has the terrible habit of not really using his brain. His recklessness against Krillin nearly cost him the match, and during training he made many questionable decisions while sparring with Popo.

Then again, are you really one to judge? As Kami pointed out, you can be careless and reckless just like your friend. You'll just have to have faith that Goku will do what's needed here.

This time, Piccolo makes a slightly less dramatic entrance, emerging from the contest hall and silently passing you and the others as he steps into the ring, smirking across at Goku.

"Fighters, ready?!" the announcer asks.

"Ready!" Goku says eagerly.

"Ready," Piccolo answers confidently.

"BEGIN!"

Goku moves at once, seeming to vanish from sight.

Piccolo's eyes go wide with shock, and he desperately attempts to track the other fighter, his head swinging back and forth in all directions.

It takes you a minute to spot Goku as well, just before he appears in front of Piccolo, grinning at the terrified demon before giving a strong punch that throws the green-skinned warrior off of his feet.

As Piccolo goes flying toward the edge of the ring, Goku gives chase.

Piccolo looks down toward Goku, firing beams of energy from his eyes toward the charging warrior.

Goku springs above the beams as Piccolo stops himself, landing on the far side of the ring and glaring up at Goku.

You can see surprise on the demon's face, and you can't help but feel a little amused. It seems he's greatly underestimated your friend, and will soon pay the price for it.

"It looks like I misjudged you," Piccolo admits. "You aren't the same weak little kid I killed all of those years ago."

"Actually, you never killed me," Goku says, smirking. "I survived, and if Tofoo hadn't beaten you, I'd have been right behind him."

"Ha, don't flatter yourself," Piccolo tells him. "You're still way out of your league."

"Wanna bet?" Goku asks with confidence.

"You're a cocky one, aren't you?" Piccolo asks. "I guess I have no choice but to show you."

"Show me what?" Goku asks, sounding interested.

"A glimpse of my true power," Piccolo answers, removing his cape and casting it aside. "You should feel honored, though you won't get to enjoy the experience for long."

"I hear a lot of talking, but I'm not seeing any action," Goku challenges. "Come on. I want to see how strong you really are!"

"Be careful what you wish for," Piccolo tells him. "You might get it!"

With a yell, he rushes across the ring, moving at a speed that the audience can't keep track of. Goku rushes to meet Piccolo, and the two rush around the ring, clashing over and over at various locations, becoming visible to the audience for mere seconds before vanishing again.

Chichi seems to be struggling to keep up, but Krillin seems able to keep track of them just fine.

The two fighters collide as they speed through the sky, and come together once again as they meet back on the floor of the ring.

Exchanging a furious flurry of punches and kicks, the two warriors eventually grab each other's shoulders and begin pushing against one-another like sumo wrestlers.

As they struggle against one another, their energy broadcasts more and more clearly, giving you a good read of their power.

It seems that Goku's power is noticeably larger than Piccolo's. The constant sparring on the Lookout seems to have allowed your friend to grow even stronger than you've realized. Suddenly, a small part of you hopes that Piccolo will win, as the thought of facing off against Goku doesn't fill you with confidence.

Slowly, but surely, Goku begins to push Piccolo back, sliding the demon toward the edge of the ring. Not one to let himself be beaten so easily, Piccolo fires energy from his eyes once again.

Goku ducks beneath the beams, then leans back, jumping up and kicking Piccolo in the jaw.

The demon backflips, landing on his feet and fixing Goku with a shocked expression, one that might even contain a small bit of fear.

"This is unbelievable," Krillin says from beside you. "Piccolo's power is amazing, but Goku's still winning."
