“Alright, alright, everyone!” Everyone gathers around Janus, Griselda’s tank. It was slightly burnt and scarred from yesterday’s battle, but functional enough to remain in camp for some repairs. All of you had returned to the campsite in the Mount Montagne wilderness, and the team was running on highs since the sweep of Sherbrooke Girls High. With the draw of J. Walter Christie this weekend as well, catching the division pennant was no longer an impossibility. In fact, at least according to Suvorov and Serafina, it seemed inevitable. “Right…” Griselda smiles at everyone, rubbing her hands together. Luisa and Yuno hang out of the hatches on Janus’ turret, smiling at her. “Everyone, NATO has marked this weekend as the Mid-Tournament Off Weeks, which means there will be no matches this coming weekend!”

“No matches?” asks Regina.

“No matches, except any exhibition matches we want to set up,” Griselda explains. “The purpose of the Off-Weeks is to allow teams to get their stuff together down the stretch towards FleetFest. And I really want to spend this two weeks getting things together because we’re going to be facing some REALLY stiff competition. One of the teams we’ll be facing during FleetFest will be Zhou Enlai.” All the girls murmur and gossip about the possibility of it. Facing ZES? They’ll be tough to beat. “But, that’s not your problem, that’s mine. All of you, take a vacation, rest up, and spend some time with your tanks as well. This is your opportunity to get a lot of stuff done that you normally wouldn’t during the tournament. Dismissed!”

“Wow!” Serafina walks up to Regina Taney as she and the rest of Naval Studies Rescue pack up things in there IS-2m. “Regina, what are you and Naval Studies Rescue going to do for the break?”

“NAVAL STUDIES RESCUE DOES NOT TAKE BREAKS!” yells Regina. She slaps her chest proudly. “WE ARE VIGILANT AND-“ She sighs. “… we’re going to the Pool on Saturday.”

Suvorov chuckles. “Well, me and the Junior Historians are going to be raising some money for our own modifications! Just you wait!” She proudly thumps her bicep, forming her arm straight out proudly. “We’ll be turning that Panzer III into a mighty StuG.”

“That’s boring,” says Regina. “EVERYONE TURNS THEIR PANZER III INTO STUGS!”

“No, no, not Stug. StuG, like stew not stub,” says Suvorov. “Pronounce it correctly.”

“WHATEVER!” yells Regina. “YOU’RE GOING TO HURT YOURSELVES MODIFYING THAT STUGGY!” She opens the driver’s hatch. “AND WHEN YOU DO, I’M NOT GOING TO HELP YOU!” She fits herself inside as Serafina and Suvorov watch confusedly. After a minute, Regina pops her head out, a little glum. “Actually, I will help you, BUT I’LL BE VERY JUDGEMENTAL!”

You roll your eyes, sighing. Winona grins, nudging you. “So, Ellie? How you gonna spend the Off-Weeks? Camping? Swimming?” She bats her eyes at you. “Doing girly stuff?”

Some of you here were presumably around for the first LGA quest, and I'm sure some of you remember when Trudy and her fledgling team attend the Rally at Bovington. Surely, then, you remember running into Walter Christie's lineup of abominations Unlimited tanks.

“Working,” you declare.

“Aw.” Winona frowns a little. “That’s boring.”

“We all have work to do, of course we’re not going to get too much time to ourselves as Naval Studies students.” You poke Winona in the belly, making her flinch. “And you, you should probably start getting to work too, can’t use all of those vacation days at once.”

“Hmph.” She turns her nose up. “Fine, I guess I’ll go to work today.” She taps your shoulder however, smirking. “But you should spend a bit more time with me. We can get you some clothes, some sexy undies, and maybe a boyfriend!” You fold your arms, glaring at her. “… would you prefer a girlfriend instead?”

“Get outta here.” Winona giggles, walking away.

Still, now it’s time to go back to work you suppose. You call up Denise to pick you up.

-

-

Hilda holds up her hand, greeting you. “Yo.” With her as part of your retinue, she’s managed to scrape together a small “bonus” of sorts every week on top of your weekly salary.

> + 550 DOLLARS

You’re not even going to ask how she gets the money for that. Denise has driven you down to the Offices, where already a small crowd of girls has already arrived to greet you. Ah great. “Now, now, stand aside, stand aside!” says Denise, immediately assuming bodyguard mode. Hilda simply walks behind you, out of the limelight.

Now however, girls are pushing pens and papers to you for autographs, begging you to sign shell casings, or asking for selfies and photographs. But honestly, you just need to get to work. “Hey, hey, Ellie! Sign my shell casing! I got it directly from the field!” You turn your head.

And immediately your eyes widen when you see it’s Captain Spruance. She smiles, her tiny hands cradling the shell casing.

Well, this is uh… You guess you can make an exception today for the Captain. She hands you a pen, then you quickly sign your signature onto the shell casing. “There we go!” She looks at it proudly, then hands it off over to her dutiful XO. “While you’re here though, walk with me, talk with me, Lieutenant.” Denise and Hilda fall in line behind as the XO and several of her Hall Monitor bodyguards ward away the crowd of starstruck students. “So, how’s work been treating you?”

“It’s been good,” you say. “Not very stressful.”

“Really? Even with your weekends taken up by Tankery?” Well, you would prefer to have one or two days off, but with the Off-Weeks, that doesn’t really matter. “That’s interesting!” She rubs her chin with the sleeve of her shirt (it still being too big for her).

“So, where are you going with this, Captain?” Hilda opens the door to your office, and the four of you step inside.

The Captain immediately takes a seat in your office chair, grinning at you. “Well, you’re a really hard worker regardless, Lieutenant. A lot of the girls in the Logistics Department and even Engineering really look up to you. Not just for your Tanking but because you’ve kept your cool and calm as an Officer, something I can’t really say for others.” Oh? You stand at attention with Denise and Hilda, looking at her. “Now, let me let you on something. Block Officer Hatteberg is going to be promoted to Flag Officer come this weekend.”

“What? Really?” You blink. “Th-… that’s great!”

“And I do need a replacement,” she says. I- Is she offering you the job? “Before you say anything, no, I’m not promoting you. I just want to alert you that her job will be up for grabs very soon. I could see you coordinating the efforts of thousands of Naval Studies students very easily.”

Wait. THOUSANDS!?

“In any case, it should come easy to you. I have other candidates ahead of you, but I do want to give you a chance. It’s not often we get Freshmen like you, especially one that LGA personally scouted and fought especially hard to get. You think the job’s yours?”

“I think the job will go to the person with the best qualifications and experience,” you explain politely. “If it’s not me, then so be it.”

Captain Spruance nods slowly, curling her lip a bit. “That’s admirable, Lieutenant.” She snaps her finger, winking at you. “I like that!” She hops off your chair. “Well, I’ll let you get back to work. Just treat things as they are, and we’ll see at the end of the week who gets promoted, alright? Alright!” And with that, she gives a click of her teeth and a point of a finger, then leaves.

AAAAAHHHHH!

“You seem stiff,” says Denise. “Ellie, do you need a massage or something?”

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Hilda leans back in her chair. “The shock of realizing she might get promoted to Block Officer must be too much for her.”

You hold up a hand. “I’m fine,” you declare. “Let’s just get our work done quick, efficiently, and neatly.” The two of them nod.

Right.

You decided it best to go and oversee any shift that may need your personal attention. So, you left Hilda back at the office and took Denise and went out looking to see if anyone needed your help.

The results weren’t exactly what you hoped.

“Can you sign this?” Several girls were already crowding you as you entered the engine room. The huge generators powering only a part of LGA’s electrical systems were the same kind of systems you’d find in the Hoover Dam, except bigger and much more powerful. See, the thing about these generators is that they have to not only power the ship’s lights and secondary systems, they also have to propel the ship as well (though, that’s supplemented by the many hydroelectric generators running along the bottom of the ship along with the wind turbine farms on the port and starboard sides.)

And because of that, it required constant attention, something that you unfortunately were messing up. “Would everyone-“ Everyone hangs at your word, stopping their worship of you for but a second. “- go back to work!” They all hang their heads, groaning in disappointment as they go back to work.

Still, one can’t underestimate the importance of safety and vigilance in the generator rooms. You step up to the railing as you stand on the control deck, behind you the control desk where several girls were managing the entirety of LGA’s power grid. You had to be careful to inspect everything, because the slightest-

[1/2]
>>
>>48777886
The generators immediately shut down, forcing the lights off with a loud clanging noise. Everyone looks up. You all look over to a tanned girl with curly black hair on the control desk, leaning on the EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN button. She looks around, blushing intensely. “Er-… um… I- uh.” Everyone stares at her. “I didn’t know that was there.” She immediately gets as far away from the EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN button.

“You realize,” says one of the girls. “That you accidentally just shut down the power to a third of LGA, right.”

She blinks. “… please don’t expel me, it’s my first day.”

You sigh. Typical.

Morning everyone, the Unofficial THE TEAM pastebin I put together last thread, well I've had a couple boring weeks due to waiting to start work at my new job, and it's grown into this monstrosity: http://pastebin.com/sVy2LsPD

Oh, with Armour numbers, I sourced them from military or historical documents where I could, where I couldn't I sourced them from mildly academic looking websites and if I couldn't find dick I used War Thunder, which isn't great because WT as a rule cannot into backing plates, or correct armour in general. So if you see some numbers that are wrong (after accounting for applique armour) let me know and give me a source and I'll fix them.

After some time, you had to explain to Captain Spruance why LGA’s power suddenly got kicked in the rear and was now powering only two thirds of LGA. “Yes, someone accidentally leant on the Emergency shut down,” you explain. The shift of Engineers that oy called in were busy setting up a hard reboot of the entire power grid connected to these generators. Thankfully, it won’t affect the other parts of LGA, but if someone was in the third that’s now out of power, they’re not getting it back until tomorrow at least. “Don’t worry, she knows what she did was wrong.”

“Honestly, I don’t see why we don’t just put protective plastic over those things,” says Captain Spruance. “How soon can the power be restored to those areas?”

You look to the engineers again, expecting a better answer than you got the first time. One of them wearing a helmet light shines it right in your face AAAH MOTHERFUCKER. “Sorry, still on the regular timeline. If we work through the night, we can have it by tomorrow morning.”

“Tomorrow morning,” you say.

“Dang it.” Spruance is quiet for a few seconds. “Alright, well, I’ll have some logistics workers send out emergency generators and have the backup power run until tomorrow morning.”

“Okay, anything else, Captain?”

“Nope, but tell that girl she’s off the hook for now, it’s not her fault I suppose.” Fair enough. “I won’t hand out punishments for honest accidents.” That’s fair you guess. “Right, get back to work then, Ellie.”

You sigh, hanging up the phone. You look over to the girl and to Denise who’s drying her eyes with a tissue. “Uuu… I’m sorry,” she cries. The girl sniffles, sobbing a bit. “Please don’t expel me!”

“You’re not being expelled,” you say. “The Captain has said you’re off the hook.”

“See!” Denise smiles at her. “You’re okay!”

“Everyone’s gonna laugh at me!” cries the girl.

One passing Engineer laughs at her. “You’re fucking right, hahaha! What kind of idiot leans against an EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN button? HA!” She immediately walks headfirst into an overhanging pipe. “Ow! Fucker!”

“You should just punish me now!” she sobs.

Hoya.
Lately i am doing some research for my own fic, and from Osprey's "Centurion Universal Tanks" i found this gem (which i can't cross-check for authenticity yet, sadly).

The gist is, its imply that Centurion cast turret is already on design well before cut-off date (the design already underway as first pilot manufactured and judging on how its accepted for production on 22nd August '45, it must already taken shape by then).
Unfortunate like i have said before, i haven't find anything from other source to support this, but if ZE pushing for T-54-1 and Maginot have an ARL-44, Centurion Mk2 (Cast Turret with 17pdr) might be allowed.

"and where we will get one, anon?"
Well if we can't get it, i would like to see some rival school fielding nothing but Centurions hahaha.
>>
>>48778937
Yeah I actually brought this up several threads ago, I think by the logic NATO uses, as Mk2 Centurion's quite plausible, and far more easily obtained than the Mk1s (which are probably all in the possession of teams like William Adams or other British schoolships). That said getting our hands on one is likely going to be excessively pricey and difficult. Might be a sidequest down the line or something, but I doubt we'll just stumble into one.
>>
We need to take some days off.

Ignoring quests and all that, we need to spend some quality time with Ingrid. Even if it's only training with her.
>>
Also, since Trude's a Senior now, how many of the show/movie cast must have graduated by now? Anyone above Miho's year is out of High School. So Nonna and Katy are gone (I think), as is Maho, and is Darjeeling ever stated to be older than Miho? Because if she is, then it's possible that Rosehip wasn't visiting as a member of St. Gloriana's team, but as its Commander.

> Comfort girl

You don’t really know any good ways of comforting a girl. So you decide that the best way to just to tell her it’s not her fault. “It’s not your fault.”

“Yes it is!”

Fuck, it actually is.

“Well, hey, anyone could make that mistake.” You place your hand on her shoulder, quietening her. “Look, tomorrow’s another day. You keep on working at it, try not to let something like this define you, okay? You are you.” You poke her heart, trying to smile as warmly as possible. “Got that?”

She blinks, wiping away her tears. “I-… I guess.”

“So what’s your name?” asks Denise.

“It’s Ariel. Ariel Chapman.” She sniffles a bit. “Um, thank you for comforting me I guess.” She thumps her chest with her fist, continuing to hiccup and sniffle as she tries to pridefully suck things up. “I can never face my compatriots at the Automotive Club!”

You blink. “We have an Automotive Club?” How come Griselda hasn’t recruited those people yet?

“Si- I mean, yes,” says Ariel. She wipes her tears on her sleeve. “M-… maybe you would to visit them after work? I can treat you to a dinner for comforting me.”

The Engineer spits out a bit of… whatever that is, onto the floor, then shrugs. “Tomorrow morning is our best bet if we work through the night.”

“Need any help then?”

“I’ll have a couple of other shifts come around and help out but other than that, we should be set. Thanks though.”

You nod at that.

Ingrid hangs off the back of the Kettenkrad with you, confused by your call to have her meet up with you and go someplace for dinner. “Um. Automotive Club? Don’t we already have one?”

“They’re the Automotive Club, ours is the Automotive Fan Club,” you explain very vaguely. Ingrid tilts her head, silently asking what the difference is. “Look, it’ll just be useful to maybe have a few more hands who know their way around an engine, alright?”

“What’s this got to do with me?” asks Ingrid. “I don’t know anything about cars.”

You frown a bit. “Can’t I have a bit more company?”

“I mean, I dunno…” Ingrid shrugs a bit.

But before you can speak any further, you come upon Ariel’s address. The first thing that comes to mind is the songs being played. Hot, spicy, Latino music. The address leads to a bit of a vacant lot, marked only by a small warehouse surrounded by fencing. But once you come around, you see what exactly is inside.

All three of you are in awe at the sheer amount of souped up, colorful, and tricked out hotrods dotting the place. Hispanic girls like Ariel all crowd around the place, shooting the shit (in Spanish) to each other. All of them are Naval Studies, but wearing non-standard uniforms (rolled up sleeves, hiked up skirts or short shorts, tied up shirt bottoms). A few in the back are even playing a quick game of catch with each other with baseball gloves and a baseball.

Ingrid blinks. “Um. Did we just walk into Cuba?”

“Elodie!” Ariel calls you over to a black car, a very sleek looking classical number with purple flames dotting the sides on the hood. Around her are four other girls. A lot of the girls are immediately in awe of Denise’s Kettenkrad. “Elodie!” You step off, shaking hands with Ariel. “These are my friends, the Automotive Club!”

“I can see why the Fan club isn’t a Fan club,” says Ingrid.

“Ah, yeah!” Ariel turns to them, and then says to them in Spanish, « Benny! Kiki! This is the girl I was telling you about, the really nice girl with the gigantic tits! » SHE WHAT.

One of them smiles at you. « Oh! Is that so, you weren’t exaggerating! Doesn’t look like she pads either! »

You cough. “I- Uh… I can understand Spanish fine you know.” They all gasp, immediately embarrassed. “But thank you for the compliment.” You’ll take it as a complement anyway. “How about you show around your cars?”

“Sure, sure!” One of them drops off the hood, wearing an opened baseball jersey above a black tanktop. “Benny Rodriguez. You already know Ariel, that’s Kiki Morales, the very big girl is Ari Pestano, and lastly the little one is Cookie Rojas.” They all wave at you, smiling. “Here, this is my car.” The girls all step off. “It’s a first generation Pontiac Bonneville, year of 1958. The engine is a 370 Tempest with injection, does about 310 brake horsepower, the V8. That’s basic though.” She smiles at you, then opens up the hood, revealing…

Well, it’s an engine. But.

It’s an engine!

You and Ingrid glance at each other. “What do you think?” asks Benny.

Denise steps up. “How much does it do now?”

“450 hp,” says Benny. “I was planning on adding nitrous to it, plus, I’m trying to fiddle with the transmission to get a bit more oomph when I transition to third.”

“Planning making it pure muscle?” asks Denise.

“Eh, not really. See, what I plan to do is also chop the hood off as well make it a convertible,” she explains. “Then possibly add a folding roof, but I prefer straight convertible. Even if it gets wet in the rain. But, Cookie is more the muscle car one.”

“Any Oldsmobiles?” asks Denise.

“Si, Kiki owns an 88 Coupe.” Denise gasps, grinning. “I know, right!” says Benny.

… the fuck are they talking about? Ingrid points to the girls playing catch. “I’ll catch up with you.” And with that, she’s away.

Ariel smiles. “What do you think? My car is in storage now but I can’t wait to show you! It’s an Oldsie like Kiki’s, a Rocket 88 used to run the stock car races.” Uh huh…

“Well, 450’s nice but uh…” You lean against the car, smugly smirking at her. My Cromwell tank has a Meteor Mark IC, does 570 in a pinch.” Benny blinks, curious at this. “Yeah, you should see the other tanks too. So how tanks, you like tanks, ever consider doing Tankery or anything of that sort?”

“Not really,” says Benny. Oh. “It’s cool that your engines are big and yeah, you get to shoot up the competition, but er…” She shrugs. “I mean, I guess we have some free time. But, Tankery is kind of a rough sport. And I hear it doesn’t allow a lot of like customization.”

“Well, that’s Japanese Tankery, this is NATO, there are mods allowed within reason.”

Benny scratches her chin. “Does LGA have an Unlimited team?” You shake your head at that. Why would we? “If you were the Unlimited team, yeah, we’d definitely join but honestly I’m on the fence. I like my cars you know? They’re like, an extension of me, an expression!” She thumps her chest with both of her fists, smiling at you. “Like art!”

“Well, we could make that about your tank too, we have a few spares waiting for restoration, plus one that’s ready to go,” you explain. “At least give it a try?”

She rubs her chin, then motions her girls to huddle around. They immediately huddle around each other in a group meeting. Denise walks up to you. “What do you think?”

“I’m hoping we at least get people to help Oleg, maybe slash some costs on the restorations,” you say. Anything to help Griselda. You’ve got two full weeks to do stuff, you’re going to take advantage of it now.

Finally, they come back. “We’d like to see if Griselda would meet with us in person and explain things for us. Do you know where she is?”

Denise says, “She should be in the Tank Hangar at this time.”

Fundamentals are something that can be worked on during training or by instating some of the training programs I suggested in the Team pastebin. > “Sure, we could get Griselda to do it.”

“Sure, we can do that. We can do that now in fact.” You look around, then smirk at Benny. “Gonna take a car there?” You quickly text Griselda if it is okay to come in, and she says yes, her office is open.

She holds up a ring of keys, jingling them like one would do to entertain a baby. “You betcha. Let’s get going.”

“Whoooaa…” The five girls of the Automotive Club stare in awe at the reserve tanks and the beaters being restored by Oleg. Oleg looks over, then waves hi to you. You wave hi back, nice work Oleg. “Those are some big tanks,” says Kiki.

“Si, si, and I thought I was small next to Dodge,” says Cookie.

“There are bigger tanks out there,” you declare. Oleg walks over. “Oleg, what’s up?”

“Come to see the GrisGris?” he says. You nod. “Well, she is in talks right now with her sister right now. Surprise visit.” Oh? He takes your shoulder, then gently walks you away and whispers in your ear. “I am not sure if now is good time, I wandered past to get tools, it sounded very tense in that room.”

“Are you sure?” you ask.

“Well, sister with growing resentment to being in big sister’s shadow, big sister wans to help little sister, but little sister not wanting help eh…” He shrugs. “I’ve seen it once or twice, it happens a lot in Tankery more than you realize.”

"Why don't you two settle these tensions on the field of Tankery this weekend? ITL vs NATO, we can make a weekend of it."
>>
> “Okay, I guess we’ll leave her alone for now.”

“Okay, yeah, that’s fine uh…” You decide it best to introduce the girls to the rest of the tanks yourself. “Well, we have a very interesting variety of tanks! We have a Panzer IV, we have a Stridsvagn m/42, and we have a Jackson! The Panzer IV is our working reserve tank right now so uh… yeah!”

Cookie walks up to the Panzer IV, then looks back at you. “So these are all tracked? Do the tracks run on different engines?”

“No, it’s all one big engine,” you explain. They all look at it in shock, confused at that. “Plus, the engine also gives power to the turret traverse as well.”

“Man, you introduce an electric battery for that traverse, we could some of those revs for the mobility,” says Benny.

“Well, if that were allowed, everyone would have them.” You fold your arms. “You want to go inside and have a look? Oleg?”

“Da.” He pulls out his keys, then unlocks the padlocks locking the tank hatches up (gotta be safer than sorry.) One by one, he allows the Automotive Club to crawl inside the Panzer IV and see how they like it. “It’s cramped!” says Ariel.

“I like it fine!” says Cookie. Of course the smallest one would like it.

Denise smiles. “I think we’ve convinced them yet!” You smile a bit. Yeah, maybe you have. You blink, then hear another car coming up. It’s another one of the Automotive Club’s hotrods, which drops off Ingrid.

“Thanks, guys!” says Ingrid. They all say goodbye to Ingrid, then drive off. Oh yeah, you left Ingrid to make some new friends. “Hey, Ellie, how’s the recruiting business going?”

“It’s going good,” you say. “What about you, make a new friend?”

Ingrid smiles happily, probably for the first time in days. “Maaaybe.”

Just a point of correction, assuming you meant all tanks use engine revs to the power traverse, that's actually really a German only thing. Most Bong and Soviet tonks use electric motors, while the Cromwell, its derivatives and all the American tanks use electric powered hydraulic systems, which is generally speaking the best option.

You step into the hallway, then knock on the door to Griselda’s office. “Griselda?”

“Yeah, come in,” she says quietly. You open up the door into her office. She’s at her desk, arms folded, slouched back, and staring up at the ceiling. She sighs, shutting her eyes for a second, then look at you. “Need something, Ellie?”

“Are you alright?” you ask. She tilts her head. “We uh… saw Gertrude leave in a bit of a huff.” Her eyes go wide, and then she groans in frustration, turning her chair a bit side to side.

“She came round, trying to offer more help for the NATO program,” Griselda explains. “But I told her, we’re doing fine, we’re doing fine. But she refused to accept that. I got into a bit of a spat. Honestly…” Griselda sighs, rubbing her face a bit. “Gertrude’s always helping people when she can, but I hope she realizes one day that not everyone needs her fucking help.”

She sighs. “I’m sorry, I- I’m making this a bit awkward. D- did you need something?”

“Well, we did have the new crew, I told you about them,” you say.

“Oh, right, um…” Griselda rubs her cheeks a bit. “Listen, just- tell them to come round on practice tomorrow. I’m not really in the mood to help them around the tanks, okay? I- I’m tired.” She shoves some papers into her desk.

>>
> “Okay.”

“Well, okay then.” You stand up, frowning a little. “They really wanted to see you today you know.”

Griselda snaps at you. “Well maybe they can see me when I’m in a better fucking mood, Ellie.” You nod slowly. She blinks, then holds out her hand. “I- I’m sorry, that- that-…” She slams her hand on the desk. “Fuck. Just go.” You nod again, then walk out the door.

You take a deep breath, then head back into the hangar. “Alright, girls!” Everyone looks over at you, curiously. “So… how about we talk tanks over dinner?”

-

-

The rest of the next couple of hours is spent talking about the tanks over some rice curry you cooked up in the HQ’s kitchen. The Automotive Club, despite the absence of Griselda, is actually quite receptive to the idea of tanks. Though, they mostly spent the time there talking amongst themselves in Spanish about how they want to customize and modify the tanks to fit their standards. You had to do some talking down to them to make sure they understood that modifications are only “in reason”.

So thus, they all left when it was around night time. Benny smiles at you. “We’ll be around for practice tomorrow! We’d love to see how you conduct yourselves.” She gives you a hug immediately, shocking you stiff. “Bye bye, Ellie!” And with that, they leave.

Ingrid as well smiles at you. “I oughta take off too.” Ingrid happily pats you on the arm. “We should go out more, Ellie. The days I spend with you I’m always happier.” And that makes your pride swell up a little. “I’ll see you at the camp.” And with that, Ingrid leaves as well.

That just left you and Denise. “Right, where do you want to go then?”

You knock on Griselda’s office door again, sighing. You don’t know why you bother with this. “Come in.” You step inside to see Griselda typing away at her computer. She stands up, looking to you with concern. “Ellie, listen. I’m so sorry for snapping at you like that. I- I’m just so tired of Gertrude right now and she’s been pressing me for weeks trying to get me tanks or crews or money and- it’s-“

You hold up a hand. “It’s alright. It’s okay.”

Griselda sighs, then grabs her bag and locks her computer up. “Well, let me treat you to some ice cream or something, I- I can’t be snapping at my Officers like that every time something makes me angry.” You nod, and let her shut out the lights then walk with you out of the Tankery HQ. Oleg looks over as he works on scrubbing rust off the hull of the Jackson, then waves at you. “Bye, Oleg.”

“Da, solnyshka. Nighty night.”

Denise leans against her Kettenkrad, smiling at you two. “Need a lift?” she says. You look at Griselda, and she shrugs a bit. And with that, the two of you elect to hop onto the Kettenkrad for a ride.

The three of you end up at the Ice Cream parlor. “Hey, Griselda!” Nancy the waitress greets Griselda warmly. “Usual?” Griselda nods, and the three of you take up places at the bar. The lights from the Ice Cream shop are lighting up the sidewalk outside. It reminds you of a painting that you’ve seen a lot, can’t rightly remember the name. Nancy quickly presents Griselda and you some ice cream. You’re getting just a cup of strawberry scoops, Denise a rocky road in a cone, and Griselda a Neapolitan in a cup. Nancy looks concerned at Griselda. “Something the matter, Griselda?”

“I’m fine, Nancy.” Griselda gently pokes at her ice cream.

“Well, alright. Enjoy!” With that, Nancy goes into the kitchen.

“Griselda, we just came off of a sweep of a really good team, you can cheer up.” You’re not very good at actually trying to get people to cheer up, but you’re hoping this will work. “Come on, that was your victory.”

Everyone did their part. Even you.” Griselda nods at that. “Look, whatever Gertrude said to you, you should let it be water under the bridge. We’re trying to win just as much as you are. And we’ll always win with you leading the charge, not…” You motion to her, then to her ice cream. “Not doing this.”

Griselda stays quiet for a few seconds, then nods slowly. “Alright. Yeah, yeah, you’re right.”

“Did I ever tell you about worst loss I ever took in Tankery?” she asks. You shake your head. “You probably know the story, the ITL Semi-finals. Kursk vs. LGA, the big matchup everyone was waiting for, east meets west, an ITL Champion versus another ITL Elite team. Back then, I wasn’t the greatest commander, everyone knew it, even Gertrude. But she refused to bench me, she wanted me to get into my role, and in some ways yeah, I did but… that day erm. I got lost. Which you don’t do as a Flag tank. It was rainy, there was mud beneath our tracks. We slipped and fell into a ditch.”

You listen attentively. You haven’t even taken a bite out of your own ice cream yet.

Griselda sighs, staring ahead. “I dismounted, grabbed a shovel, tried to dig the tank out of there as best I could. Yuno and Luisa were with me too but… next thing we know, we’re on the ground, our ears are ringing, there’s a hole in our Sherman, and the white flag’s popped. You bite your lip, deciding to get back to eating your ice cream.

-

You end up arriving at camp. Serina is already telling scary stories to some of the spare crewmembers of Naval Studies Rescue, the Junior Poles, and the Historians. Most of the other girls have already gone to bed at this rate. Your own crew is probably asleep too, probably work in the morning for them. With that, Denise waves you goodbye, and rides off into the night.

You walk Griselda back to her command tent, set up next to her Sherman. “Well, Ellie, thanks.” She shoves her hands in her pockets, smiling at you. “You’re so patient with me, I don’t know how I deserve a Commander like you.”

“Eh.” With a shrug, you play it off. “It’s nothing, honestly.”

“Well…” She sighs. “My tent is open to you, Ellie, if you don’t want your crew slobbering all over you.” Well…

Just while we're walking pitch the idea of an exhibition match this week. Can sort out the details tomorrow but if nothing else it'll give her something else to think about.
>>
>>48784672
> “Sure, why not.”
Those final words in the ice cream parlour isn't healthy at all, but I think we can address that over the next two weeks.

>>48784710
I'll support the idea of a tank skills and games weekend.
>>
>>48784672
>>48784710
This we need to practice
>>
>>48784710
>>48784725
I'd also support the games and skills weekend. No need for a match all the time. Something silly like cross country rally, long range shooting etc could be enjoyable.

I wonder if the boys have a particularly study aircraft? I'd like to imagine firing 75mm paint shells at a B-17 as it orbits the carrier.
>>
>>48784672
>> “Sure, why not.”
>>
>>48784773
I'm sure we could manage a bit of both.
>>
>>48784450
You're confusing characters and people. As a character she's interesting. As a person she could do with some work.
>>
>>48784773
But the latter sounds like practice. Maybe we can do both but if we are recruiting we need them to learn how to deal battlefield conditions
>>
If the Automotive Club REALLY want a car, we should get them a T7 Combat Car. It can mount either treads or wheels.

We replace the dakka machine gun with a nice 37mm (same gun as the M22 Locust) and let 'er rip.
>>
>>48784954
Can we do that and why not just give them an Greyhound
>>
>>48784954
Please no, put them in a Tetrarch, or anything with Christie Suspension and the Convertible Drive.
>>
>>48785012
BT-7M?

Frankly just leaving them in the Pnzer IV is fine
>>
>>48785012
Also what is wrong with the Greyhound?
>>
>>48785041
I'd rather get them something with a bit more vroom, but probably something reasonable like a later model BT, Crusader with Meteor engine (because it will literally go 85kph) or just a Cromwell/Challenger/Comet. It just seems a waste to put what might be our crew with the best potential as drivers in a tank that's of average mobility.

>>48785063
It's an armoured car, I've asked GS about them in the past and he said while they're technically not illegal he won't be including them in the quest at least for the forseeable future. And if we did get an AC, we'd get best AC the Daimler Mk 1 with a LJ adaptor.
>>
> “Sure, why not.”

You shrug. “Sure, why not.” You step inside the tent with her, and she shuts the flaps to give you two some privacy. You place your glazer, your skirt, your pantyhose, and your shoes down at the end of her cot as she undresses down to a blouse as well. “Listen, Griselda. Have you ever considered like a competition thing between you and your sister?”

“What, like an exhibition match?” she asks. You nod. “No.”

“Why not?”

“Because no father should have to bury his daughter,” says Griselda. “Seriously, we’d kill each other.”

“Well.” You shrug, sitting down at the end of her bed. “I mean- give it a thought. It could really raise some money and awareness, especially if you won.” That stops Griselda as she brushes her hair. “Think about it.”

She sighs. “I will, I guess. We do need to book a match to keep us from gathering dust I guess. I was hoping for another school though to have some time for us.” She sits down next to you as well. “But hey, Ellie, you’re doing good work as an Officer. If it comes to an Exhibition match I hope you’ll be part of it.”

“Yeah, of course.” And with that, she gently plants a kiss on your cheek.

“Well, we should get to sleep. Early to bed, early to rise.” She pulls the covers over the both of you, the same covers. She hits the lights. “Night, Ellie.”

You look over at her as she shuts her eyes, curling up next to you.

You kind of wish you were back with the crew now.

And that is it. Sorry, no LGA2 tomorrow due to baseball reasons. And sorry for the two unannounced breaks in the updates. But next weekend we should be able to get back on pace with the Questing, hopefully. Hope you all enjoyed regardless.

That's a fair point. An exhibition between the ITL and NATO would be pretty awful no matter the result.

>>48785150
Was good stuff GS, look forward to next week.
>>
>>48785150
Thanks for running GS, by the by do the possible upgrades in the pastebin look like something plausible to work towards? Particularly the conversion of the Cromwell's hull to a later model.

>>48785153
How so? At the end of the day it's a friendly match within the school. As long as it's won fair and square I don't think either side would take much umbrage at having lost.

Well I'm not really sure how that would go. Gris doesn't seem like the boasting type or otherwise but I can't help but feel it's all a bad idea.

The upgrades are pretty fine for now. You're only really limited by Griselda's budget, which isn't the best even with Winona's dad sponsoring her (he owns half the Red Sox after all).
>>
>>48785293
Yeah, well, we're also sitting on 12 and a bit grand ourselves, so we can always dip into that to help make an important project happen.

Also, fixed some minor spelling and formatting issues with the version I posted earlier: http://pastebin.com/

>>
>>48785443
Oleg is your new Tank Shop. You can always contact him at any point (and I keep forgetting to include him in most open-ended votes). As for the pastebin, it's somewhere and I'll find it.

So is there anything of note Iris and Poles bought with their bounty money?

Also please include the shop
>>
>>48785838
The shop's in the OP anon, and Iris didn't get any bounty money this week, El and the Poles bagged the bounty tanks.
>>
>>48785906
Regardless I'm curious what they upgraded their tanks with
>>
>>48786229
Ah well, the latest confirmed upgrades are in this >>48785427 pastebin but I think GS has departed by now, so if they've got anything since the match it might have to wait until next week.
>>
>>48786271
Pretty sure he meant Oleg's tonk shop, which is hidden in GS's pocket
>>
>>48786541
Ah fair enough, yeah would be nice to see what's on sale. Maybe we could talk Gris into being team treasurer. GS has mentioned she struggles with the admin/funds allocation stuff.
>>
>>48786570
Well we do have our own finance officer we could Shanghai into team treasurer
>>
>>48777994
>http://pastebin.com/sVy2LsPD
I love the pastebin but, i kind of take issue on seeling the swede tank.
>>
>>48787435
Why? It just doesn't seem like a good enough tank to warrant keeping, and doesn't have much in the way of upgrade opportunities. Especially seeing as we're lacking fast tanks atm.
>>
>>48787462
I don't see any other tanks available do you?

Right up to the point we have a full complement of 20 (and maybe even then) there's no point selling any tank.
>>
>>48787462
but on the otherhand we're not lacking too much on funds either.

The best we can do is upgrade thetransmission and engine to improve performance and speed.

Also it's 75mm gun works well as a artillery tank.

Also, another big problem is that we lack both tanks and crews and the market is eating up any decent tank that comes for sale.

SO i rather have the mediocre tank to fill up our roster and used to train a crew then selling it and have one tank short. We're outnumbered as it is.

I'm not saying it will be our heavy hitter but will be a good support tank.
>>
>>48787522
I think the major leagues/finals we will need 30 or 40 tanks like in the GUP movie if i recall.
>>
>>48787561
Fun times.

All things considered, we'll need whatever the maximum number of tanks is and probably a reserve of 5-10 depending on how many tanks are available.
>>
A this point, I just wish Gertrude sells us the 120mm Chi-ha tank.

I can understand Gertrude is being pushy on wanting to help, but Gris Gris should try and implement buying any extra tanks from her.
>>
>>48787522
The reason I recommend selling it though is to fund a different, superior tank purchase. We really need some tanks that can keep pace with our Cromwell, so we can get the most out of that speed on a Tactical/Strategic level.

>>48787550
There's not a whole lot we can do in regards the engine and transmission, they just aren't that great to start with. The 75mm upgrade does seem decent as an SPG/Light TD but with the Hellcat, Jackson and now the Historians considering taking their Pz III to a StuG, we're risking overloading on Tank Destroyers and Heavies without a strong core of Medium Tanks.
>>
>>48787696
yeah but that is only four out of twenty tanks. It seems that will be sufficient.

and you kind of missed the point of the market being very tough for NATO as tanks are being bought just as when they are sold.

Selling it seems to be a bad idea overall when tanks are tough to find and it's not a bad tank either to warrant selling , at least imo.
>>
>>48787751
Yeah, we need to see what's on the market first one way or the other. It's also worth noting I'm not exactly set on selling the m/42, it's just something I think we should consider, especially if an opportunity arises to pick up a better vehicle instead.
>>
>>48787816
no but that's the thing, we're good on funds and our secretary is securing even more funds.

It's just a matter of distribution, so we need to focus on filling our roster first. Having something we have that instead of selling in hopes of something better in our situation is probably a bad idea.
>>
>>48787816
We're not even in charge of the finances.

Schteel ripped it out because it was causing too much drama and I think it was the right decision.
>>
Wonder if getting the go fast button would be good considering we have the auto extinguisher. Might save us inna pinch
>>
>>48787867
Yeah, if we can afford new tanks we find without having to sell the Strv that's great, I'm not saying to sell the Strv and then hope something better rolls around. I'm saying that if we find something better, and it's either too expensive for us to buy with our current funds or we don't want to foot the bill in entirety with just budget, we can consider pawning off the m/42 to help fund the purchase.

>>48787875
Yeah, I know, been catching up on LGA 1 slowly over the course of the last month or so and the endless tirades about selling the Stuart are fresh in my mind. But it's difficult to wholly divorce that stuff from LGA 2, especially seeing as IC Elodie is a good money manager, has a financier on her staff and Griselda is apparently not so great at that kind of thing. Gravitating towards a role where we at least have input on team purchases is I think inevitable, though having Griselda there as essentially a QM veto/tiebreaker/decision maker might make things a bit less militant than LGA 1. Hopefully.
>>
>>48787969
I'd rather pick up Smoke and WP rounds for about the same price, seeing as we use smoke concealment so much in our plans. Probably a more consistent purchase.
>>
>>48787973
I guess, though i'm not sure what will happen to the crew who will use it.

Also I think we more or less help by donating the time and funds and Griselda is the one who looks through the markets.

So the aspect of us finding tanks will be limtied since i's Griselda who does that.
>>
>>48787997
Hell, don't think we've used the APDS yet but Willy Peteing a mofo should be a thing. Don't even have to worry about a misload because Stack is elite
>>
>>48787973
You weren't there man, YOU WEREN'T THERE.

The only situation I'd accept allowing this sort of micromanagement is when Griselda actively and deliberately asks for our input on the matter. Otherwise it will devolve into a complete shitshow.
>>
>>48787997
>http://pastebin.com/ziMsX6th
I think getting the camo screen might be a worthwhile one as well.
>>
>>48788063
We've not faced any tanks that use heavy armour since we bought them. Only Washington and Sherbrooke, who both use mostly super lightly armoured vehicles. I can't wait to Lockdown and Triple Kill some Tigers from like 500 metres with APDS though.

>>48788078
Eh, maybe. It's just so situational though. Personally I hope GS puts in some of the major overhauls I suggested in my pastebin. Taking our Cromwell hull up to the Ew would be a great buff to almost all around performance.
>>
>>48788073
i was there and good times, i'm glad we kept it

>>48788095
I don't mind most of the suggestions, until we get the 17 pdr Avenger variant of the Cromwell.

I also agree with the suggestions other then selling the Swede tank/.
>>
>>48788095
But we do a lot of ambushes though.
>>
>>48788151
But it only works in a very particular kind of ambush, the enemy have to be coming dead on at you, traversing your turret breaks the whole illusion and it takes time to assemble. The Camo net does fine at the moment.

>>48788124
The Avenger is a Challenger Variant. Turning a Cromwell into a Challenger into an Avenger is basically building a new tank. I'm also not sure if it actually got built before the cutoff date, as all the sources that reference it are postwar.
>>
>>48788181
Well i consider that the end game design. and the Avenger was built, it was only ready just before the war in Europe eneded but he cut off date was only after Japan surrendered.

So we have time.
>>
>>48788181
perhaps, but will be useful for flag batlles though.
>>
>>48788208
Honestly I'd rather stay a Cromwell VIIw (LT) than go on to a Challenger or Avenger, and of the two I'd actually prefer a late model Challenger with the factory standard applique package. Neither of those tanks can brawl, and while they're formidable gun platforms and fast in a straight line they're not adept at the kind of vicious, short range flanking manouevres and duels we've done so well thus far. If we really do want to go with an unrealistically extensive overhaul, the option for us is the Comet.
>>
>>48787973
>selling the Stuart
Stuart Hellcat combo, thing was a beast.
>>
>>48788257
>Cromwell VIIw
eh, fair enough. can we upgrade the cromwell to a comet though?
>>
>>48788258
Yeah the M8A1 Scott is both a decent flanking TD and adorable as fuck.

>>48788232
I'm not saying it would be useless, there's just more useful purchases.

>>48788282
Yup, with the VIIw we'll get an extra inch of armour on the front, wider tracks, a full cupola as opposed to the periscopes we have now, easier to use hatches and a bunch of quality of life/maintenance enabling tweaks. Pretty great.

As for converting to a Comet, no we can't but then again we also can't convert into a Challenger by the same tokens. It's really up to how much GS cares about that kind of thing/is willing to let us bend reality if we decide to go that path.

Updated pastebin with Pz IV H and Automotive crew. http://pastebin.com/jmGN0eVf
>>
>>48788328
Ah shit I fucked up the Upper Front armour for the Pz IV's turret. It should be 20mm at 85ish degrees. Still easily overmatchable by even 75mm guns but whatever.
>>
>>48788328
eh, I think you can as long as you share the hull. Hell, he let the fact slide that the Panzer 38(t) can be upgraded to a Hetzer despite it being different designs.
>>
>>48788390
They don't share the hull though, the Comet's hull is a like a Cromwell hull that's had basically all its dimensions increased by a few inches. It's taller, longer and (I think) wider. The Challenger is WAY longer than the Cromwell (a whole extra road wheel long) with a different turret ring and all that. The Avenger in turn is a Challenger hull cut down to a lower profile so that it would be easier to conceal.
>>
>>48788437
yeah but the Panzer 38 9t0 had different dimensions too, so i assume it just needs to be close.
>>
>>48788458
That's true. We'll see anyway, one way or the other I bet it'll be a while before any option beyond a higher mark of Cromwell is viable as far as conversions go.
>>
Thought we had an M36
>>
>>48788568
We do but it's still undergoing restoration, as is the m/42.
>>
>>48788362
I didn't realize the Pz iv was so poorly armored, we should really get them an applique kit stat if they can't get one themselves.
>>
>>48788605
It's not really that badly armoured at all, at least on the front the armour's pretty much at the standard for a medium tank of it's time. It's side armour's pretty terrible, but that's basically all German tanks for you.
>>
>>48788605
Might overload the suspension like that
>>
>>48788727
>http://pastebin.com/jmGN0eVf
not really, it should be able to handle it.
>>
>>48788727
It's kind of been assumed that the applique kits you can purchase from the shop don't affect tank performance, either due to handwavium or just modern engines and suspension tuning making up the difference.
>>
>>48788328
Updated pastebin again because I forgot that Oliver has a side skirt kit (according to "THE TANK" pastebin) which I'm going to assume are just sized up versions of the track guards used on the Crusader (5mm thick, covering the side of the hull from the top of the track housing down to about the top third of the road wheels).
New Version: http://pastebin.com/dj9cA4mr

If you're wondering how I denote spaced armour, anytime you see an armour number like "15+50" it denotes it as either spaced or layered armour that isn't directly welded to the other plate and is ordered from outermost to innermost. For instance the Cromwell's hull side is now "5+49+14-5+52+14" so you've got the 5mm side skirts/track guards, the hull side itself which varies between sections of 49 (lower) and 52mm (upper) thick and finally the 14mm backing plates just within the hull.
>>
>>48789764
Did you add the side skirts for the Panzer IV.
>>
>>48792195
Yes, though I'm having trouble finding a good source on how thick the hull Schurzen actually is on the H. A bunch of places say it was all 5mm thick, but the only historical documents I could track down in an evening that mention Schurzen thickness peg the turret's at 9mm, without addressing the hull, so I've left it as 5 for now while the turret gets 9. I also utterly fucked up the Churchill's armour profile, was going to wait till next week to update it but since you've bumped the thread, have version 1.0: http://pastebin.com/DzCiNFw5
