Your journey to the Goron City is thankfully a short and uneventful one, after the encounter with the Hinox. Well, minus some of Horon's questioning. More simple things, like where you grew up, how long you've been adventuring, and making sure you're not in this for the Princess. You reach a point where you just start to ignore his questioning as you approach the City.

Upon reaching the place, you're greeted by a familiar voice. "Ah, you were that Termina girl!"

You turn your head curiously. Goron... with a camera around his neck. "Ah, you were Doron, correct?"

He smiles a big, friendly smile. "Heh, that's me. Doron, reporter for the Monthly Cucco. What brings you up here?"

"My..." you look to Horon and find him picking his nose. "...associate and I are headed towards the Temple of Din. Along the way I had heard that the Goron seem to be preparing themselves for something. At least that is the impression the guards gave me."

The Goron nods. "Guess it would look that way. We've had to deal with some... eh... issues, as of late."

Horon gives him a suspicious look. "What kiiiiind of issues?"

"Monsters have showed up in the mines." he says sadly. "We've pushed them back, but then some kind of man showed up. Guy with a lot of masks."

You stiffen slightly. Masks. "What did he do?"

"Said he could help keep the monsters away with a special mask thing. Hah, our chief didn't trust the guy at all, and had the merchants haggle him on where he got this mask before he took to any purchasing." Doron explains with a friendly smile still on his face. "Merchants ended up deciding it wasn't trustworthy. Ol' Coron told him to leave, and he seemed to do so without incident."

"...seemed to?" you question.

"Coron didn't trust the guy. So he's been having us work double time on physical fitness where we can. All Gorons, young and old." Doron flexes. "Haha, and I'd say it's worked out well for us. I feel four years younger already."

You think for a moment on that, then get an idea. "Well Doron, as a reporter, I bet this may be of interest to you: I can confirm that the man with masks seems to be bad news. The Zora's Domain had to be evacuated due to an incident he caused." you explain, tone heavy and serious. "How soon until the Monthly Cucco is published? Because that may be the best method of warning the people."

His eyes widen. "Should be ready in the next few days. Zora's Domain, completely evacuated?"

You nod. "I was there."

Horon looks at you curiously now, genuinely curious. "What were you doing there, Termina?"

You take a moment to explain your encounter, though not going into too much detail. Just your meeting with Lynna, the poison in the water, and the monster Zora responsible for it. Doron hurriedly writes down notes on this. "Termina, you may have just saved Hyrule from something truly nasty. I'll get the word out as soon as I can!"

You sigh in relief. "I thank you, Doron. Now, if you wouldn't mind me asking, what kind of monsters showed up in the mines?"

"Dodongos, Keese, Lizalfos, and this strange thing that seemed to be chomping on Rupees." he tells you, rubbing his chin.

"...it was eating Rupees?" Horon questions.

"Like some kind of worm, but would munch on freshly cut Rupees. Those had to go first." he states.

"That'd throw the economy into complete chaos..." the boy in red mumbles, thinking.

"I'll keep a watch out for those, then." you state. "And lastly, where might Chief Coron be?"

"In the Chief's chamber, if he isn't doing some racing exercises with. Hah, for someone so old, he's certainly still fairly spry." the Goron chuckles. "I'll be off, thank you, Termina."

The fairly floats to you and tells you with a friendly voice, "You're a quick thinker, that's going to help in the long run."

"I thank you, Felicia." you tell the fairy with a nod.

"...so. Termina." Horon starts in a suspicious and questioning voice. "Just who is this 'Lynna' girl?"

You find yourself groaning at that question. Loudly. You then pinch the ridge of your nose and count down from ten. Deep breath, Zelda. You turn to the boy with an icy glare. "A friend. I would appreciate you keep you keep your imagination in check, young man."

"...just a friend?" he asks, starting to change his tune when he sees your annoyed glare.

You hear the fairy hitting her head softly on a rock again. You continue off, for her sake, ignoring any further questions and instead just march right to the Goron Chief. After explaining to some guards about your visit, you find the elderly Goron stretching. One of them notifies him of your arrival, causing him to turn around and... stare.

He mumbles something that sounds like an archaic dialect and stares for some time, before shaking his head. "No... couldn't be... Ah, my apologies, children. I am Chief Coron."

Horon seems slightly disturbed by the elderly Goron's appearance. "Does... does he have...?" You hear the fairy tell him to not be rude.

"I thank you for meeting with us, Chief Coron." you greet diplomatically. "I am aware that you were suspicious of the man with masks. I'd like to assure you that it was a good move, given what happened in Zora's Domain."

"When you get to be as old as I am, you pick up on things like this, my child." he says with a laugh.

>A. Is there anything you can tell us about him?

"You seem spooked, sir. Is something the matter?" you ask.

He shakes his head and smiles. "Just recalling the last time I saw a pair of young lady adventurers in my village."

Horon's face reddens. "I-I'm a boy!"

The Goron seems surprised by this. "...Ah, of course. My apologies."

You try to keep yourself from chuckling at that, but do find the comment interesting. "If you have the time, could I ask you something about those adventurers, sir? After my associate and I have gone through the Temple of Din, that is. We have a task to complete."

Coron nods. "Ah, of course, young one."

"That said, have you noticed anything suspicious around there lately? Especially anything related to the man with masks."

The Goron chief rubs his chin. "Hmm... there may be something. Not too long ago there seemed to be a few Lizalfos and Dinolfos headed towards our city. Upon the alarms sounding and our best fighters gathering, they turned tail and ran. But not too long ago there were reports of a couple seen in the Temple. Couldn't verify just yet, but, if you are headed there, I feel it would best to be cautious."

Those might be tricky opponents, and a group of them would spell trouble. "Understood, sir. And the man with masks, do you know anything else you might be able to say about him?"

"I sadly do not have too much to offer. But be careful. There's something... wrong, about him." Coron advises. "Ah, also, I have something if you two are truly interested. A prize of sorts, if you can find a special hidden piece left in that temple. Look for the item with the mark of the Hero." He walks over to a chest of some sort and shows you... a Piece of Heart?!

Anon he or she is a pre teen. Also a kid who has to act like he or she thinks a hero should act because he ir she has confidence issues.

Is actually impresive as Horon is younger than us yet did a lot of hero stuff with just a single fairy help

Too bad the kid doesn't understand how serious this is.

Or maybe he or she does and that's why he ir she hides as Lord Horon.

Damn, now I kind of pity Horon.

"I shall do my best." you tell the Goron, giving a respectful bow.

"Yeah, let's kick some ass!" Horon cheers, thrusting his arms into the air.

Well, at least he's enthusiastic. "Horon, Felicia, let us be off."

"H-hey, who put you in charge?" he grumbles, moving ahead of you.

Exiting the area, you ask for directions to the Temple, a smaller Goron pointing the way. You go past some shops, what seems to be a... bowling alley of some sort, and a strange little cavern that seems to lead up the mountain, to a tunnel. While slightly cramped, there's light at the end... aha! There we go, the Temple of Din.

...

There's a lake of lava on either side of it and a sturdy but small bridge connecting where you are to the Temple itself. Agh... it's warm. Horon doesn't seem to mind the heat, somehow. "Heh, what's wrong Termina?"

You seem to notice something... moving ahead, a small, green blur.

You make one quick, fluid motion, drawing your crossbow and firing a shot from it, striking the Dodongo right between the eyes. The creature shrieks in pain, then drops, flashing and causing a small explosion. You then notice it wasn't alone; there are one more Dodongo out there in front of you, and another coming at you from behind, and they noticed that. You back up, drawing another bolt for your Crossbow, Horon getting behind you.

"On the count of three, move so we can get them both!" you tell him, standing ready.

"Okay, one!" he starts, the Dodongos moving in.

"Two!" you continue, the pair of reptilian monsters hissing at you both, readying themselves to strike..

"THREE!" the two of you shout, quickly moving away and causing the creatures to collide.

"Felicia!" Horon shouts, firing a Fairy Missile at the pair, right as you take a shot at the other one. Your bolt hits its side, but the explosion from the Fairy Missile manages to get them both, injuring one and downing the other. Right as the injured Dodongo notices it, the dead one explodes next to it, taking it out as well.

"That should be it." you state, stowing your Crossbow.

"Haha! Awesome!" Horon cheers, pumping his fist into the air. "You really aren't half-bad, Termina."

"And that was good timing, I thank you, Horon. Now, it's good that you're learning, but we shouldn't stay idle." you tell the boy, turning your head to the entrance of the Temple. "By the way, I've noticed you seem to rely on the Fairy Missile to deal with foes. Do you have any other weapons with you, or even a shield?"

"Nah, sold my shield. I'm sure I can handle this without it." he says almost proudly.

You... just kinda stare at him. "You... sold... your shield."

"Yep." he replies so... matter of fact-ly.

You try very hard not to hit your face with the palm of your hand, the fairy finally floating back to you both. "Horon. Please tell me you at least have a weapon with you aside from Magic."

"Oh I do!" he says cheerily. "Check THIS out!" he tells you as he-

...

Oh this cannot be real.

"Horon."

"What?"

"That sword is broken." you explain to him.

"Bah, it stabs plenty fine!" he exclaims, giving a thrust at the air with it.

It's... if anything, it looks almost like a staff weapon, but the pole is too short and the blade is too long. It's clearly a sword. A broken, giant sword. You sigh as you start to walk in. You can inquire more when you're out of this heat.
