Gehenna churns bellow the flashing motes of light as waves of boiling metal sweep over the orbiting ship hulls, radiation piercing through space like echoing gunshots as atomic warheads detonate against armored starship. Fighters pass in rapid streaks ahead of their payloads, leading ferrous slugs of metal and kinetic warheads as they slam into the formed fleets, puncturing armor and rupturing shields. Point defense guns pivot and wait in anticipation as the strike craft hurl past at speeds well above what the naked eye could ever perceive, and with quick bursts of fire cut down the passing ships one by one, turning the tiny ships into charred ash and dissipating chunks of slag shotgunning across the system. The fighters that survive continue on their way, chased by interceptors as the Commonwealth fleet's formation breaks and the ships begin to launch their payloads, firing clouds of medium range missiles and railgun rounds at the decelerating Union fleet closing in on their position in Gehenna orbit.

A moment later, the second salvo hits, cracking through the hull of a cruiser with a silent flash of light that sends its armored hull rippling like water as it boils in an instant, and the ship begins to spin, sending water and atmosphere bleeding out into space in a wide arc as in the distance flashing of light sparkle among the Union ships, the attackers' shields flaring like the glimmering teeth of some great animal's maw.

TIME FOR HIVE QUEEN QUEST.

We really must tell the Commonwealth what we're doing on Gemini.

And we really must wrap these negotiations up quickly. I'm sure the Valen ambassdor on Gemini right now is desperately scrambling to get to a Q-Comm to notify the greater Valen clans of this. If he hasn't accomplished it already you'd better bet he'll redouble his efforts when he hears we're trying to get ALL the Expanse worlds including Aral where their hypergate priest currently is.

On the upside if we pull all of this off and capture their hypergate priest and then get hypergate tech the Valen will probably respect the shit out of us for our cleverness and dickery until the end of their days.

It's not about 'interest'. It's about their capabilities, which are dependent on the state of their target.

We don't know at what tier of Fucked those locked memories are. They might be at or below our current level, or they might be above. It's a gamble.

It turns out they were only ignoring us before because it believed we were not a threat, that nothing could stop them now, nothing!!!

And then we stopped the climax of their master plan that has been cooking for like a hundred years at the 11th hour.

Chaos surrounds your ambassador drone as technicians and officers swarm about the room. Admiral Yogesh stands proudly as he examines the readiness reports of the fleets placed under his command fill the display before him. Several of the monitors along the room's periphery fill with news and alerts as a low murmur begins to wash over the technicians and comm officers, until someone quickly moves to Yogesh with a data pad and a look of grave concern. He takes the data pad and looks at it a moment before going wide-eyed, and with a flick of his finger sends the images to the central holo-display.

A vast armada of hive ships floats through the sky of Gemini, casting innumerable shadows across the city as static discharge leaps from ship to ship like lighting, your Hive ship's shadow blocking out what little sunlight there is in the evening twilight as the city is cast in shadow. Klaxons blare and screams echo through the streets over the sounds of distant sirens and the shouted orders of PDF troopers. The camera jitters with static, flickering as nearby advertisement holograms stutter and die, shattering into floating motes of static as their speakers begin to chitter and murmur with a choir of inhuman voices.

Admiral Yogesh eyes your drone carefully without tilting his head as your speaker watches the display with veiled amusement, and then turns back to the officer.

"When was this?"

"A few hours ago, roughly. The spacetime difference on Gemini is-" Yogesh waves a hand in dismissal as he cuts off the officer.

"Does Magnus know?"

He pulls up the stream of the speech, with Magnus gripping his podium like a wrestling opponent as he shouts from a balcony flanked by banners of the Commonwealth's member worlds, all held between several dozen story long Commonwealth flags draped over the face of the building from which he speaks. Beneath him, in the streets illuminated by the light cast back from the spotlights affixed onto the massive eagles of the Commonwealth flags, battalions of troopers march along a parade ground to a number of waiting troop transports. The admiral looks over the spectacle with some hint of disapproval.

"A bit flashy, but it gets the message across." He says. "Make sure someone tells him after the speech and to contact me as soon as he can." The officer nods quickly and turns to leave. Admiral Yogesh looks you your drone expectantly. After a short moment of silence between you he speaks.

"You have no obligation to explain your interactions with other nations to us, but I would appreciate if you did." He says.

"Humans have made grave blunders in the Union. This speaker has informed you of this." Your drone chirps. "The Hive was forced to intervene for the safety of all, at great cost, and is now negotiating with the human Union." The admiral looks at you with some suspicion.

"I ask because helping us against the Union wasn't exactly a part of our deal, and I would like to know exactly what it was they did so we can avoid doing it ourselves." He says.

"The Hive has an enemy." Your speaker says. "One that is from beyond the realm of human perception. This enemy has enslaved the Ceph, the Skyl before them, and a Queen of the hives' own kind. The Union made grave errors in their research, and tampered with forbidden technology that would bring this enemy into our reality." You detect the attention of several of the nearby comm officers, who nervously strain their eyes to watch you as their minds fill with imagined horrors from the fables of their homeworlds.

"This technology is linked to the contents of the wreckage of the Mirage, making its retrieval vastly more important now." Your speaker says.

"And you didn't think it was important to tell us about this sooner?" Yogesh asks. Your speaker simply chitters.

"It is not of your concern."

Yogesh examines your drone for some time in silence before looking back to the holo-display.

"It isn't. My concern is the hostile xeno threat before us both here and now, but this is of concern to Magnus. I think it would do well to give him an explanation of this threat so he can better prepare our fleets."

"The Hive may have already said too much, but we have learned the dangers of provoking human curiosity, and will say what we can to your ruler." Your drone says. The admiral looks at you with some suspicion but buries it in his mind, turning his attention to his assembling fleets.

"Regardless, no matter what threat may be further over the horizon, your warnings will be of no use unless we deal with what is directly before us. We have already taken casualties at numerous points. The enemy fleets tend to strike quickly with an expeditionary force. They fire from long range, and fall back before we can engage, then return with a larger force." He says. "From my observations, I believe they lack any proper method of FTL communication, which is certainly to our advantage, and these hit and run fleets are probing attacks, measuring our defences to gauge how many ships they need to send."

"They have sent these attacks against the Hive." You reply. Yogesh nods as he strokes his thick beard.

"We are still fighting off the ground forces where you intervened, and additional fleets have been spotted in Tiberion and Krasnodar, as well as Godard and Hel. Judging by the typical size of their assault forces, I doubt we will be able to field a force capable of expunging them from all of their targets without taking heavy casualties, especially with so much of our forces having to dedicate themselves to the Union front.

The Scavs can detect the movements of the human warp drive, but it is questionable whether they can hope to detect the hive's methods.

So, once a day, the hive can swoop in on whatever small forces the humans have deployed, which the Scavs will believe easy pickings, only to have hive ships come in and outnumber them after their arrival.

The Scavs do not seem to have FTL communications. They will never know what happened to their fleets that did not return.

Unlike human monarchs, the Queen could rule the entirety of this stellar empire on her own.

However, due to the individualistic nature of humans, valen and/or taidaren, if would be best if we had a 'council' of sorts of representatives that each planet would choose to represent them, and they and the bureaucracy of the planet would consult the speakers/thinkers(/the queen) in charge of the planet about all matters, with us simply having to increase the number of thinkers stationed there as needed.

>>
>>48678129
>Offer full defensive support, space and ground support

>>48678401
Q-Comm is based around quantum entanglement.
Even if they have the end result, a single FTL-comms system, said system is tied around a number of receivers that humans still control.

Furthermore, they only have the single product, they do not have the tech required to actually build another one, so it's of no use to them unless they can manage to capture another human ship with an intact Q-Comm and experiment with them.
The entire Q-comm system is based around 2 parts after all, and they only have one half of it.
>>
>>48678401
Q Coms only work with the q coms they were bound to it so they would be worth less to the scavs but I'm not sure what the scavs skill in reverse engineering is

It's unclear whether if humans sever the quantum string from the far end, it invalidates its utility as a research subject.

The FTLComm on the USV Clarke was useless for reverse engineering, but that was the damage in the crash I'm pretty sure, not severing from the far end.
>>
Quantum entanglement is pretty finnicy, pocke it to hard with your science stick, and it falls appart.

"The Hive will assist in their removal." Your drone chirps. The admiral watches as helmet-camera footage is played in several places in the central holo-display, showing marines and armor-clad drop troopers firing into formations of the scavenger forces. Packs of leaderless pups and small, animalistic looking berserkers sprint along the battlefield, scraping at the armor of the larger troopers or fleeing in panic as they advance. Others, clad in their own armor, fire back, ripping into their own caught in the crossfire.

"They have little regard for their own lives, it seems." Yogesh says. "Are they individual, or do they hold a collective mind like you?" He asks. Your drone chitters.

"They are between."

"Those armored suits, those are new. Engineered from our own drop suits, perhaps, but that would mean they can go from reverse engineering to mass production in days to weeks." He says. Your drone chitters softly, almost mumbling to itself.

"yes, very slow to adapt."

"Others don't even seem to have weapons." Yogesh continues, deliberately ignoring your statement. "They seem smaller, a sub species? They look almost like they could be children, if not for the fact that they are being sent into battle without weapons."

You search through the mind of your own captive Scavenger, scanning his memories to its own adolescence. An age of mindlessness and violence, animalistic in nature.

"Their young are not sentient. They are animals." Your drones says. "Their minds grow later." Yogesh watches the screen as several small scavengers, each the size of a dog, charge madly at the dug out cover of the Commonwealth forces, their pack being quickly gunned down as they charge on all fours. The last few make it to the trench, diving at the humans as their enhanced claws sink into armor and scrape at drop trooper plating. You see one sever a human's arm before a shotgun shell shatters its body like faberge, and a burst of weapon fire puts down the other.

>the Queen could rule the entirety of this stellar empire on her own.
We could, but there would be some rather uncomfortable adjustment for all parties involved. Planetary governance of aliens isn't something we can instantly master even if we can poop out as much computational power as we want, we'll need to accrue experience in it before we get better at it which will most likely involve fucking up and pissing off our population. Unless you want to parasite everything, which carries its own consequences.

Also, assuming you don't want to just hand it off to our autistic thinkers it will cost valuable attention/plotline bloat.

I see the appeal in ruling over these fags though, I think if you want to go down that direction we'd be better served by getting Theseus to govern in our stead.

A valen tadpole is hardly more dangerous than a barracuda, these seem deliberately hostile, trained to be war hounds until they develop their minds enough to use more advanced tools and weapons. It says quite a bit of their evolution, and the morals that evolution has given them." He says. "Regardless, the forces are being mopped up rather well at this point, but incursions have already been reported. Scouting fleets have attacked the picket forces in Godard and Hel not too long ago, and an invasion fleet has already breached the perimeter of Tiberion and have already begun landing ground forces, while invasion fleets have been detected entering the outer system of Krasnodar and Kalidesh both." >>
>>48679232
ok, so, we have 4 Heave fleets, 5 Missile Ambush fleets and 15 Light fleets awaiting orders?

We can surely split these up effectively between human/scav conflicts.

Then we'll just have to put in construction orders.
I suggest work on making +10 for all types. yes, this includes Citadel Hive Ships
>>
>>48679188
We should probably throw some missile fleets in there for the ambushes. We can also spare, apparently, an additional 5 Light Fleets without eating into Light Fleets currently deployed over Gemini.

And we only have to divert one Heavy Fleet from over Gemini, which is good because we don't need to commit all of our military forces to attacks when the OQ is lurking around doing god knows what.

So
>5 Heavy Battlefleets
>15 Light Fleets
>5 Missile Ambush Fleets (for the traps)
Maybe send our unorganized ships that aren't parts of fleets but are equipped with stealth generators with the Missile Fleets to help with cleaning up disgusting Scav goo.

>>
So this is our ship duties then

Any fleet patrolling is the defense force against auntie and maybe the union in the future

I've been thinking about that, I don't think Heretic really cares at the minute but Theseus might be interested in building relations with the other factions. well, we have blink drives, so we can effectively jump from patrols to the fight and back again in an instant, so I suggest:
>send all standing fleets. use the heavy fleets to hammer-and-anvil the Krasnodar and Kalidesh invasions once they've committed too much to retreat. Hide the missile ambush fleets in the blink radiation of the heavy fleets to attack the scav fleets from their blind spots as they defend against our heavies and the planetary defenses. Send the free light fleets to hit-and-run the Tiberion invasion scav fleet. It doesn't matter if the Tiberion fleet retreats and warns them of our hit-and-run tactics, that will just make future encounters against them more vulnerable to the hammer-and-anvil.

You list fleets 4 threads ago, but have no definition for what fleets ARE.

Reading the wiki TALK page is suspect because anyone can edit those at any time, how are we supposed to know what's canonical?

This makes it really hard to make actual tactical decisions like this with no real guidance. How many people writing in even know what percentage of our ships total they're committing?
>>
>>48679449
It still takes time to sublight around the system. I tend to glance over the travel time of craft in-system since it very rarely ever has any direct impact on the situation at hand, but moving into position and deploying forces does usually take much longer than that.

Our greatest weapon in space warfare is the blink drive.
We can, with a good enough roll, position our fleets almost exactly where we want and need them to be at any given moment,
However, every other aspect of the battles takes time, which we do not have a lot of if the scavs are simultaneously invading multiple commonwealth worlds.
This is basically an event to earn massive brownie points with the commonwealth.

You mean a merger so there's more ships and variation per fleet?
>>
>>48679874
Um light fleets are just smaller ships while heavy has the larger ships in it

>>
>>48679874
Sure thing, although we should probably wait until the end of the thread as usual. Personally I think we should focus on more corvettes for fast interception and defensive flack, especially if we may be fighting nuke spamming humans.
>>
>>48679892
No, I mean a new fleet design, with new ship designs. Ones with combat armor instead of heavy or standard armor and a balanced fleet composition. Both the heavy and light fleets are very useful at their specific roles, but I'm thinking of general purpose fleet that is balanced and is reasonably well equipped for any situation.
>>
>>48679921
The light fleets are just cheep and unarmored, the heavy fleet is made of ships of the same size just a looot denser.
>>
>>48679874
I mean, the Heavy Fleets were designed from the start to be a core than was to be fleshed out by other ships and fleets. I had anticipated they would typically be supported by a larger number of Small Heavy Defense Fleets, but Light Fleets work just as well really.

>>48679940
The Heavy Fleets are actually pretty well equipped for just about any situation, they're just slow. So very slow.
>>
>>48679958
>>slow
That's their biggest weakness, along with their prohibitively high cost. They make an excellent defensive force or seige group, but we could use something in between that and the oversized task forces that are our light fleets.
>>
>>48679955
Can someone remind me, I don't think light fleets include corvettes (our lightest, fastest, ship) but instead are just cruisers and frigates. Maybe we should just change the light fleet makeup a bit to make it more versatile.
>>
>>48679940
I dunno, I'd prefer the fleet system be kept as simple as possible as well as being made clearer. If we have dozens of different fleets to choose from every time we go into battle then it bogs things down.

I'd prefer it be kept down to a manageable number of highly specialised fleets are grouped together into a task force for specific, rather than have a bunch of specific task forces for every eventuality on standby.
>>
>>48680053
Perhaps we could just include some midsize ships in both the heavy and light fleets?
>>
>>48679874
Fast Fleets are in between. Stronger but not as slow as heavier armor.
>>
>>48680046
we voted some time ago to add corvettes to the light fleets, but no one ever actually changed the entry on the wiki for them.
>>
>>48679958
Witch makes little sense in space were the only limiting factor in speed is energy really a heavy ship should be able to go as fast as a lighter one it would just take longer to get there
>>
>>48680046
A middleweight fleet of ships constantly on standby atound leeland do we can warp them out if needed but just keep them there otherwise?
>>
>>48680053
I like simplicity too, but not when it costs us actual fleet performance. Our light fleets are basically masses of FTL capable guns. They've got no missiles, swarmers, strike craft, or even mulit-layered shielding. We need something better than that to supplement our heavy fleets, which are about as fast as cold molasses.
>>
>>48680110
as our ships can move almost instantly, i believe tha "slow" was refering to manuvering.
>>
>>48680053
Yeah i agree

>>48680128
Well the lights fleets are just supposed to provide numbers and act as a screen for the heavy fleet in the first place

>>48680107
I thought QD took that and those boarding ships we designed in the last thread before his haitus, but now that you notice it they aren't in the OP. Maybe I should repost them after the thread, if they get some traction I can put them on the wiki later.

>Send 2 heavy fleet and 6 light fleets to each system

Your ships begin to flex their drive wings as they spool their blink drives, their destinations locked in.

Elsewhere, as your ships finish their maneuvers, your pod in Virgo detects something along the outer reaches of the system. A number of flashes of radiation flickering through the darkness.

The picket forces are already deployed, their scanners tuned to the outer reaches of the system, and they seem to pick up the signals as well. Fighters are launched, and corvettes quickly enter into formations with them, the strike craft forming shells around the small corvettes each covered in point defence weapons and missile racks. They begin to accelerate out to the edges of the system on an intercept course as your pod swivels its sensors to the distant cluster of heat signatures.

Slowly they come into focus as you scan the small patch of space. A force, rather small in size, all things considered, composed of several dozen corvette and frigate sized ships each, with a number of cruisers in the center of the formations, all lead by a single battlecruiser. The force is obviously not enough to take the system. You wonder what the goal of the force is, perhaps to test the human defences, or some suicide attack to cripple local industry, or even a beachhead fleet meant to guide in a larger fleet's blink maneuver past the local picket forces. You can't be certain, but you doubt your mad aunt is here for small talk.

Cont.

Yes to both of these. We can play it off to the Union as this is just likely a preliminary attack by the hostile forces they awoke at Nowhere and proof that they need our "protection" in order to survive, hopefully.

If necessary I suppose we can blink forces from the Gemini Fleet to support, but I'd prefer to send other forces if we have them available in enough strength to kill auntie. We cannot let her get human tech (especially nukes and shields!) at virtually any cost.

Do we have any forces around leeland we can draw from? I mean it isnt ideal but we are entrenched there with surface to air batteries. It would be worth the risk to draw from reserve forces.
>>
>>48680175
You continue to observe the converging fleets as the larger ships of the picket forces begin to enter formation in orbits of their respective worlds. The PDF forces of each are already mobilized, but quickly enter a heightened alert, the anti-orbital weapons across the colonies quickly arming themselves as reserve fighters scramble across the surface.

While you suspect the local fleets should be able to overwhelm the far less advanced ships of the Obsidian Queen, it may still cost the Union, and you highly doubt her ships are as recognizably different to your own from their perspective.

This is actually one of the reasons they still tried to give you a human agent. They are currently very nervous that you seemed insulted by the gesture. While the Union should be able to develop accommodations for your drones rather quickly, the wide range of oddities between different species means that usually diplomacy can be rather awkward.

Their experience in that regard so far consists of a giant carnivorous sea monster and a species of disease filled creatures that smell like roadkill, so they are not very used to dealing with species that are able to easily be in the same room as the other diplomats.

>Hesitant on touching the world the cripple is on though.

That's why I said we should ask her first. But even besides that, we should set up on the other planets/moons:

"Desmond – Binary star, one red giant and one blue dwarf
• Accretion disc: A thin ring of stellar debris spinning around the two stars containing a microbial substance capable of feeding on metallic materials.
• Pegasean Gas giant: This “Hot Jupiter” is heated by a combination of its core’s rotation and its proximity to the two stars, causing rolling firestorms in the dense hydrogen layers of the planet’s atmosphere. The effect is rather stunning, but makes mining efforts useless. If the Union has observed this system this was likely a major factor in their departure.
• P1: A frozen ball of ice with no atmosphere. It is barren and remote, with a crust composed of a mixture of rock and frozen inert gas.
• P2: A thin atmosphere, geothermal activity, and high levels of oxygen make this small primordial world’s future a bright one, if the star lasts long enough for life to form on it. For now, however, there is little but pools of primordial soup, and lakes of a strange animated dark blue ooze made of a liquid carbon solution.
• Asteroid belt: This sparse field holds small amounts of usable metals, but is relatively barren and filled mostly with rock and ice.
• Ice planet: This small, dead planet is unremarkable in its appearance, A frozen world of gasses likely built up over millions of years from gas blasted away by the system’s formation."

Meant to quote this, obviously:

"Refuge – Yellow main sequence star: Unusually dense and reflective ort cloud made from metal fragments, debris, and ice creates an insulating wall of static, hampering attempts to blink directly into the system and rendering sensors useless until the ship passes through at sub-light speed.
• Frozen metallic world: An icy planet that skims the inner edge of the debris field that is covered in deep trenches and craters of exposed metal deposits. The planet is devoid of life, but is rich in metals and water ice.
• Rocky temperate world: A moderate planet in most respects, it holds a thin atmosphere that offers enough shelter from space to allow liquid water and clouds to form, and supports a small collection of simple life forms that live in the shadows of the devastated hive spires that remain. The selection of life seems to be a narrow evolutionary bottleneck containing the select few creatures that were able to survive the destruction of the local hive forces.
o Binary moons: These two satellites orbit in a close elliptical orbit so tight, they exchange atmosphere as they pass at their closest, causing geological activity from the event. They both are promising primordial worlds with the potential for life, although beyond simple bacterium which may not even be native, they seem to hold nothing at the moment.
o Forest moon: A low gravity world with a thick and humid atmosphere which is host to a vast spread of thick and tangled jungle."

>QD is it possible to use our quantum telportation to produce materials I know we can telport hive products using it but could we use it to make them?

That sounds literally nothing like the original question.

Why would you need to know the details of the hurdle that we've already leapt over and left behind?
>>
>>48681630
Fuck off. The humans are useless and anything even vaguely humanoid will only hurt our position with them. As for making bio armor, why would we give the humans anything?
>>
>>48681512
It can, but teleporting more complex substances is usually as fast or slower than building it. The advantage of teleporting materials in is that you can utilize ingredients that would otherwise be rare or prohibitively expensive to synthesize, allowing your hidden hives to remain as small as possible and just import things that it would otherwise need to build a detectable industry to produce.

She essentially has an "experimental" relay. An advanced prototype. It is more advanced than yours, but she seems largely limited by training at this point. As you unlock new abilities, she is able to learn how to use those abilities that she already may have had the potential to do, and likewise, her own studying of her mental alterations has lead to a minor boosting of psionic research, especially now that she has a dedicated psionics lab.

This is correct. She seems to have attempted to make a hull that was difficult to detect with G-sensors, however the effectiveness of it is... debatable.

She tried, though. Points for effort. It's actually a good reminder of why the Hive is bad at innovation and invention itself. Without something to reverse engineer, it looks like the best idea she had was to make the ship out of styrofoam.

I know it was poorly worded I apologize

>>48681698
Because they are our allies against mad auntie?
>>
>>48681702
The hive is bad at innovation because its only one mind, so it only has one creativity

Can you hold a vote for colonies now? Seems like there is support and I don't want this to be forgotten.
>>
>>48681770
That's why Quantum Thinkers are a big breakthrough
>>
>>48681770
Yea, more or less, and your Aunt isn't exactly the brightest candle at mass as it is at the moment so that doesn't help either.

>>48681778
Well not literally, but you get the picture.
There was an attempt.

>>48681779
Sure!
>>
>>48681702
Repeating my question.
How goes the scouting pods?
Also can we start researching the sensor deflecting hull and the "experimental" relay?
>>
>>48681702
Either 70000 years of being high on power has made her bad, or the ancient hive's definition of "military genious" had much lower thresholds than ours.

Oh our poor brain dead auntie. We must find you and end your pain.

I vote for A-295 and desmond. It would be reassuring to have a buffer between the Union and scavs.

Judging by the difference between the mind you sense from her relays and the mind you remember from the crystal recordings, she has certainly seen better days.

>>48681827
Working on them, the systems involved in the current Commonwealth joint military venture will be done next.

As for Elizabeth's relay, she helps to research it herself in her free time, and it grants a small boost to your efforts in psionic research, if that's what you mean.

Well she's also, in all likelihood, lost all ability to produce tachyons on her own, if she's suffering from the same brain problems as the humans at Tenebris were, which a cursory visual inspection of the GIANT THROBBING CRYSTAL WHERE ONCE WAS HER BRAIN certainly implies.

Not that that has a direct effect on intelligence, we'll find out how much stupider the humans got as a side effect soon enough.

>the sensor deflecting hull

There IS no sensor deflecting hull. Anon made that up.

And even if it were a remotely accurate description of the soft spongey corvettes we killed, we had no time to take samples.

Any particular planet in mind?
>>
>>48681867
The primary utility of colonization is building one Psionic Sensor Tower on one planet in each star system.

Since it takes a rather short time for us to blink to nearby systems with pods in them.

And it's telling that now that our income is higher the new shiny toys get more costly too.

We really need to build a tower on the forest moon at Refuge. That's just not even a question.

I mostly want A-295 for the metals, solar farms and irradiated planted we can test on.
>>
>>48681966
P2 for Desmond
Do a survey of the binary volvanic planets and the irradiated planets in A-295 to see if we can start a mining operation there.
While we're at it, see if we can do the same for P1 and P2 on G-426
>>
>>48681966
Desmond's P2 seems the most promising to start with, but between our core mining and terraforming/weather control we can basically get something out of wherever we set up, right?
>>
>>48681966
if psi sensor towers successfully detect a blink drive about to arrive, would it notice it SOONER if it were a larger ship that takes longer to calculate the blink, like an enemy hive ship?

Or how is the prediction lead time before they appear determined for an FTL that's basically instantaneous like blink drives and rip drives?
>>
>>48681966
Yes, planet 1 in the Desmond system and the binary volcanic worlds in A-295, we should be able to harvest absurd quantities of metal from the later. How hot is it, will our drones be able to survive on the surface long enough to build things for mother?
