Flat DCs that are strictly pass or fail will always be trash. It's either you make it and you are a god or you fuck up terribly.

I just believe that for lots of things Kato does with this quest, an opposing viewpoint should be presented on a stance she takes, so that she may be kept on her toes enough to the point that she becomes a figurative ballet dancer. It was pretty fun. We also reached two threads today, though sadly not without some shitposting. But still, that's more threads than we've had in one day for a while!

I am somewhat concerned about putting Maple in a "support" role. You've probably heard this before, but I am somewhat concerned that pushing Maple into that type of role will essentially push her to the sidelines and will only be valuable because of the non-combat skills that she knows.

I'm okay with there being a power discrepancy between the Saiyans & the non-Saiyans due to skills and all that, but I think that both should still be able to go onto the frontlines and not get disabled so easily by smart & strong enemies. Maple's survival in major combat situations shouldn't be dependent on whether the strongest enemy is dumb enough to let her live long enough to help her friends gain the upper hand.

I realize that the Cold fight was marred by an astronomically high amount of 1s in a single dice pool, but it kinda highlights how some teamfights might go against strong opponents that are much more powerful than Maple. This also happened to a lesser extent in SAQ.

I guess that I'm worried that Maple will largely be a liability when the Saiyans get insane gains later on, and the enemies' power levels must increase in turn. While it was said that Maple can get abilities that will boost her fighting powers temporarily, those aren't quite as useful as the SSJ form that's a "fire-and-forget" ability that's good for as long as you don't get sucker-punched by a drastically stronger foe. I don’t want to see Maple acting like Dende did in the Frieza fight because that’s the surest way of not dying against a BBEG.

Goku-Bulma is the "Path to Power" Future Timeline. What happens when that Goku dies of a Heart Virus. I never had a problem with that system. Notable is that crits seem less extreme both ways. But to be honest I'd miss the drama of the 20s and 1s. Ah well, whatever works I guess.
