You walk around the village, observing the people as you make your way through.

Most of them men are gone, presumably working with the crops out in the field. There are exceptions; a few shopkeepers and the elderly men are still around. The women do various things; watch children, chat with one another, and it seems like most of the vendors are women. Furthermore, you see a few of them doing work repairing damage to various buildings.

The children mostly play, but you can't help but notice that they don't want to stray too far from their parents. In fact, some seem reluctant to even leave their homes.

With a closer look, you see that pretty much every adult in the village is carrying a firearm, and even a lot of the kids seem to be carrying around big sticks, which they clutch close and tight rather than hit each other with.

Reaching the edge of the village, you notice footprints. They aren't human, and it only takes you a few seconds to figure out what kind of creature they belong to.

For the next year, you train a new technique.

Your Light Shot is the weakest of your light attacks, but with a little idea you came up with, it can be extremely useful.

For months, you fire Light Shots uselessly, trying in vain to control them as they fly from your palms. As the time until the tournament counts down, you finally begin to see progress.

And, in the final weeks leading to the tournament, you finally learn how to control your Light Shots after firing them.

Finally, the days comes. You've trained all you can, and you hope it will be enough.
