Its best to use 3 dimensional manifolds to express any higher dimensional space and simply use the connections between the rooms as higher dimensional travel points. That way every room is always 3 dimensional in nature and easy to understand while travel between rooms is the only area you have to worry about wonky shit which means once you know the rules shits easy to get down. Head straight twice and you reach room 4 which has connections to all other rooms type shit suddenly becomes easy.
Hell once you have diagrams and charts to show you getting to understand non-euclidean space time actually becomes simple to understand.

Well, that's only if you're going with four dimensions necessarily including the temporal dimension. If it's simply a hypercube extending through four spatial dimensions, then it's a whole different animal.

I actually ran this once with my group. It was surprisingly easy to navigate for them once they explored the first cube and deduced that every cube is self-contained. From there on out it's flipping switches until you find a cube with a way out.
