Is there any chance we'll have a retcon to resurrect Lilly, regaining our alliance with in-game Akira?
Or can you issue a poll asking us if we prefer going back to the choice that killed Lilly?

Sorry I ask again this after all last session turmoil, but we spent almost the whole quest to pursue an alliance with Lilly and Akira, choosing Lilly in every pivotal choice we had (like the "I wanna be more like Lilly", "I'm not alone anymore", choosing Lilly every time we could do it in the first half of the route, before getting the Hisao taken by Shizune), and we lost all in a single post.
Due to a choice that we don't even know which was (I figure which was but still not sure), in a way you didn't really clear (you said Lilly lost a fight, but looking at her body description and to at the tip about the poison action it was a full dere action, so no fight involved).
And that wasn't only a criticism by the butthurt, but also a lot of perplexity by other anons and Fluff, as in the only choice involving Lilly we didn't had a clear choice "stay with Lilly", as both will result in us and Lilly in two different places. And all other choices were about other people, no one involving Lilly.

I dunno, continuing on the path we have now after the way we played 'til a month ago, it seems being an inexplicable plot development.
We all know you played F/SN.
It's like playing the Unlimited Blade Works route, arrive at the first fight against Caster and Kuzuki, not fighting with Saber and Tohsaka but having Tohsaka beheaded by Kuzuki and no chance to regain Saber... but instead of getting the bad end 19 (if I remember correctly), continue to wander around hoping in a huge deus ex machina to win the game.

The problem, I think, is that we threw away all the Dere we had been building up when we stupidly decided to murder Emi and Rin instead of using the one skill we had been working on the whole game. I'm still upset that people voted that way, but I know it's better to keep moving forward than to argue the point. Would be nice if Akira allows us a Hanako Route Gaiden where we can re-do at least some of it from that point, but we can save that for when this current quest is over.

Here's the thing. When we said we wanted to be more like Lily, that started the Hard Mode path, that vote there.

Why? Lily is a dere character. She manipulates and gets other people to help her, because she can't really defend herself. Akira is her best defense as a super-yan character, a combat monster that can compensate for all of Lily's shortcomings.

By playing Dere, we needed to find or make our own combat beast to defend us - and we relied on Akira for that since she was often right there. But as good as she is, she can't be in two places at once, and that's how we lost Lily. What makes it HARD MODE is now we're yan like Akira, and desperately need a dere counterbalance...

...that's it. We have the chance for a betrayal play since we're at full Yan. That locks us into dere and lets us play the social game to the extreme.

This is how we win.

I spent many hours asleep (european fag here) to play this quest. I won't continue knowing we essentialy can't really decide the plot (as last week development showed us, in my opinion), and we can't even discuss with the Quest Master if there's an issue as big as last session's one.
I'm going to bed now.It was the last time I followed this quest.
Imposing us to continue after a 9-8 vote (if I guessed correctly the choice, a thing we still don't know, and maybe we'll know at the end of the route, maybe not. And it won't be useful anymore) with no evidence that that vote led us to mess all the work we did for months. Without giving us a more fitting to the plot bad end, or at least a poll choice to going back.
And the Quest Master unable to listen to any criticism, and answering with "you should expect bad things 'cause the way you played" "I explained all, it's your fault you weren't able to understand my explanations" and so on.
We went from a master who put up obstacles in the route (a challenging story) to a master who decided how things have to go, and it's now only a hack&slash (not necessarily bad, but not my favourite ones).
Maybe you find funny, entertaining or fair punishing us on a single vote, seeing people voting going from 15-17 to 6-9 in a session, no debate at all, with at least two of them (dunno how many anons and Fluff) playing hoping they'll get a bad end to come back, and intimidating players with your statement "you'll have to follow my decisions, or we have to abort the whole route". With these premises, I can't anymore, sorry.
I never agreed with your policy to postpone all the questions to the end of the routes, but I understand in an online quest we'll avoid to quarrel about any single post. But you should have done an exception this time, and you should have questioned yourself about giving us a choice to go back.

This is really nuts, but since the setting is devoid of magic, we could pull a real good one over stuco by using the Rin's weapons against them, there has got to be a way to control them somehow. It'd be especially advantageous for us since they are best used in an ambush, even an armless madman could push determined combatants back with them. And that is something Shizune definitely would not expect and have no means on hand to defend against.

I'm also a master when I play RPGs with my friends, I can't exige my behaviour is the perfect one but if during a session I'll take a so drastic choice (as Lilly's death was), repudiating the direction of the whole campaign, seeing my players grumbling/quitting about this choice, ignoring their requests, and avoid explaining/discussing with them 'cause I'll explain only in the end of the campaign, they would eat me alive. And they will have a lot of good reasons to do it.

To all the players: I saw you continue to play. Probably I'm the one who's too stubborn and too strict. I wish you you'll continue to enjoy it, for me it was fun, as it lasted, playing with you guys.
To Akira: you deserve a big fuck you on how you managed last sessions. But I owe you a bigger thank you for the entertaing times, until two sessions ago, I won't deny it.

i don't want to point fingers at req and i'm sure he didn't intend for it to be like this, but maybe the art he drew was part of this route's decline

simply put, he drew that stuff for it to be seen, and akira would punish us for being dere, not getting in fights and therefore not seeing those drawings, and would reward us for being yan and getting in fights since we got to see the art

maybe even focusing on the art is being too narrow, maybe it was just a part of the problem, and akira was also punishing us for being dere since it meant we were ignoring his spreadsheet of combat stats (or whatever that was)

Rin was a painter before anything and everything else. Her paintings are essentially a window into her soul… and Jesus freaking Christ is that one messed up soul.
A piece of toast inscribed with all manner of evil glyphs.
A shoggoth burst out of her head in a most disturbing self-portrait.
Tons of portraits of Hisao, of course… You pocket one or two of the nicer ones for… um… ‘research’ purposes…
Then you freeze.
Hidden behind one of the Hisao-portraits is a strange trigram insignia… No, not insignias… pictographs: A red teapot. A green teacup. A blue saucer. They appear to be arranged in some sort of an array with one having precedence over the other…
And… more disturbingly, about each arrow is a painting of Hisao’s face… The exact same face. It’s odd because all of her other paintings depict Hisao in different poses and expressions…
But this… They're the same... And this evil tea set…

“First, Lilly met Shizune at the beginning of the lunch period… But she wasn’t killed until lunch was almost over. Now, given the delayed nature of poison as a murder technique, that on its own doesn’t spell anything conclusive… but considering other stuff…”

Akira pulls the shard of broken teacup out of her jacket. “Hanako lifted that from the crime scene. It was enough to get a chemical sample of the poison from.”

“Lilly was killed with an overdose of a drug called modafinil. That’s a pharmaceutical that was discontinued just earlier this year…” Her red eyes take a razor-sharp tone. “One used to treat narcolepsy.”
Suzu tilts her head back. Slowly her face cracks into a hollow smile.
