Welcome back, space pirates, to the thirty-fourth installment of Mecha Space Pirate Quest! As always, you are Admiral Roarke S. Starwind, leader of the Iron Kestrels space pirate fleet, master of the starship Rhinehawk, and pilot of the Knuckle Kaiser.

Finally, Clemmy is able to escape from the Jaburo and sends you a message full of beating hearts. The shuttle she arrives in is a non-transforming Lunar model called a Tern, a pancake of a vessel with enough room for half a dozen people to be comfortable inside and the shape of a classic flying saucer. Six curved, bladelike legs descend from its underside, giving it a crablike gait as it scuttles into a bay and lifts itself up so that the cockpit hatch can open. Rather than having the usual liftwire, the hatch armor unfolds into stairs. Clemmy saunters down in her pilot suit with a heavy duffel slung over her shoulder and a slightly gloomy look on her face. When she sees you waiting for her, though, she perks right up and waves exuberantly.

Next to the transport Tern is a black-and-white mech. It has a pointed visor, and beneath it you can just discern the gleam of ten small sensor eyes. It has two of the 'bunny ear' style antennae. Although the frame and armor are black, it has a large white fin shaped like a bird's wing complete with sculpted feathers on the backside of each forearm and calf, curving backwards along the limb. The torso is also white, with long, sculpted pauldrons and tassets whose scalloped fringe gives it a look somewhere between an armored dress and a maid's apron. The Lieutenant pauses, glances at it again, then nearly doubles over laughing. You feel slightly hurt on Karen's behalf, hearing your mechanic hmph loudly behind you.

“You kept the Betta? Heeeeey, Fairy's gonna be mad about that. If you reverse-engineered that technology, it could be a problem for her.” The blonde woman laughs merrily to herself as she walks over and gives you a hug.

Karen, to her credit, gives her a big smile and a little bow, “Welcome to my territory. I'm afraid it's a little late for that, I've had plenty of time to look over the S-Betta and figure out how it works. So, you're Lieutenant Butcher or something, right? It's nice to meet you, I'm Karen Cohen.” She extends her hand with a pleasant smile.

Clemmy's eyes spit hellfire at her, “Lieutenant Alice C. Farragut. My friends call me Clemmy, but I don't know you.”

Karen isn't the bravest girl in the world, but she doesn't run away. She instinctively takes shelter behind you, yes, with her head poking out around your arm, but she doesn't run away, “Maybe we'll be friends someday?” She suggests hopefully.

Clemmy makes a face.

"What? We can be friends, right?" Karen, oblivious to the danger, blinks and smiles from behind her classes.

"So you're the lying glasses demon! I've heard ALL about you! Don't even bother trying to trick me so you can steal Roarke for yourself, I already know my real enemy is here, and I can't waste time on little distractions like you. Mousy mechanics should learn their place and not try to interfere with pilots and romances between pilots. It's okay, though, I won't hurt you just for trying to butt in on me and Roarke and him welcoming me and me planning to kiss him a lot. Just run along. Shoo." She makes a flippant hand gesture at Karen.

"Clemmy, you're not hurting Karen at all, period." You interject, "And she's not going to-"

Karen cuts you off, for once, "I can handle this myself, Roarke!" She puffs up with anger, thrusting her chest out and marching right up to Clemmy, "I'm not afraid of you either. Samantha told me all about you and what you do to people. If...if you think I'm going to let a violent bully like you do whatever you like in MY mech bay, you're going to be disappointed!"

"You think just because I'm in your castle, I can't rescue my prince from your wicked grasp? Stupid bitch!" Clemmy lunges a little, and you're forced to grab each of them by the wrist to stop them from going for their monoblade and wrench respectively.

So much for a peaceful homecoming.

On a related note, your mech will consequently weigh more than 23 tons. It would also be helpful if you listed out the components of your mated system - you have to pay the full individual costs and weights for both, though spaces are conserved.
>>
>>47844872

You need to list your speed on there somewhere. Don't use the KK's format from the master pastebin, do it the way the Rogues' Gallery mecha are set up.

>>
>>47844938
Fully armoured your mech costs around 126 without thrusters but I think the spaces are off with the weapons. That said since arm mounted shields only take up one spot anyway does that matter?

Ill leave this here as well its very handy, more instructions on 1d4chan if anyone needs them.

>>
>>47845197
Consider using less servos. A mechafighter consisting of just a torso and wings, or a 'humanoid' with just a torso, head, and legs, will cost less to purchase and to armor than a mech with the standard 6 servos. You'd have to mount your weapons internally or on Weapon Mounts, of course.
>>
>>47845211
I really want it to be that ELO song, but the dice don't lie
>>
>>47845232
I wanted it to be a mech rather than a jumped up plane. I made enough until the next time a dumb mecha idea lodges itself in my head.
>>
>>47845279
Making cheap humanoids tends to be a problem, from what I can tell, because the frame and armor alone will cost upwards of 40-50 CP unless you're making a mech so small that its armor is next to worthless anyway.

You end up finding that you basically just have your choice of weapons and not much else, if you don't want to break the bank or start your inevitable downward spiral into madness by engaging in some rather questionable cheese.
>>
>>47845279
Honestly, the issue with the harpy and bluegil and trying to get under their price is there really isn't any need for it nor is it a good idea at this point. The harpy is incredibly fragile as it is and the Bluegill, while relatively sturdy in comparison, is pretty basic. As is though, if you want cheap, you are going to have to have to cut somewhere, like space, armor, or speed. Really, the chance to start going cheeky hits around the 140-150 mark, where you can get some more expensive systems in or have room for specialized systems.
>>
>>47845379
>>47845401
It was supposed to be a pirate mook along the lines of a bluegill anyway. Since the last one was sort of based of a Zaku II and the new one was supposed to be lighter and more maneuverable I was thinking of basing it of a Zudah

Your arms have to strain to keep them from grabbing their respective weapons, "That's enough!"

"I can't tolerate her!"

"She's toxic and selfish and will only hurt you!"

"IS THIS HOW YOU WELCOME HIM HOME!? Shame on you both for dishonoring your man! If I were the Admiral, I would punish you both!" Speaks a scolding voice from atop the nearby Tarrasque. Fatima stands there like a judgmental goddess, arms folded and dark eyes flashing, "Disgraceful! Utterly disgraceful! He has been on a dangerous and trying voyage, and the first thing you do is cause him more stress!? If I were part of the Admiral's harem, I would greet him with a smile, ask if he desires a bath with me in it, and make sure he is properly fed and watered. Can't you even hold off until he's asleep? No wonder he is such a wolf when you all behave so poorly. Welcome back, Roarke." She spares YOU a warm smile before she resumes glaring at the others, showing neither more or less steel to either the UJCIDF girl or the lifelong pirate mechanic. "I hope these two know how lucky they are, that you are so kind and soft to them instead of confining them to the brig for this shameful display."

They wilt under the Saharan heat of Fatima's stare. Karen relaxes her grip on her wrench first.

You're a little overwhelmed. You look at Clemmy. You look at Karen. You look at Fatima. Feeling no more pressure from them towards grabbing their weapons, you release their arms...then grab your sides and burst out in gales of laughter. It might not be the coolest thing you've ever done, but it's what you feel.

They stare at you until you recover and hug both of the quarreling girls, "It's good to be home. Thank you, Fatima. I'm going to miss having you around."

Her expression loses most of its intensity, her eyes flashing with something unidentifiable, "I'm just trying to make your life easier. I'm beginning to think some of your flaws come from the environment nobody has improved for you rather than your nature." She pauses, then adds more quietly, "Even though you stole my knights, hijacked my bridal voyage, delayed my special day, drained my allowance, and have been responsible for countless small humiliations, I'm going to miss you too." She smiles softly, grabbing the liftwire and twirling gracefully around it as she rides it to the bay floor, "The Archen is docking. Your situation might become more complicated rapidly."

Glancing down the bay, you can see Red Siren's mech landing.

Fatima puts her hand on your shoulder, "It would not be shameful to avoid whatever explosion these three cause. I would be happy to protect you for a while, if you want to go for a walk."

Tarrasque date! Bring beer If alcohol isn't haram for her

We going to be shooting asteroids and singing our tunes. Then we reach for the joystick accidentally. Fatima goes red and casts her eyes down. Roarke laughs it off and shoots an asteroid. They start singing again to get back in the mood. Then a piece of asteroid hits the Tarrasque lightly. The cockpit jerks. Fatima lands in Roarke's embrace. They freeze for 15 seconds. Exactly 15. Fatima punches the eject button. She blows her top while floating in space with her cockpit.

"NOOOO!! How could I freeze there! I-I-In that wolf's embrace. Even if it was warm... and smells... That's not the point! That was uncouth for a lady! I should have...."

Then she remembers the cockpit seats two pilots.

"I can always watch the fireworks on the security cameras later. Besides, I have to be able to trust them to get along without me around. Let's go." You smile back at Fatima.

"But Roarke!" Clemmy and Karen are in complete agreement for the first time.

"No. The two of you have to learn to be more mature and look out for each other. Fatima is absolutely right, the next time one of you draws a weapon on the other, I'll spank you..." You falter as their expressions grow somewhat hopeful, "Actually, I'll throw you in the brig." Their hope fades into pitiful pouting. You force your heart to stay stony, "Let's go."

"Coming, Admiral. I'll show you what the Tarrasque can do, later, right now all I want is to stretch my legs." She stretches, taking your arm casually and adding, "We can find something to drink on the way."

Her legs are long, and now that she's in pilot's attire rather than a form-concealing Martian robe, you can tell how fit she is. It wouldn't surprise you if you could count her abdominal muscles if you weren't worried about her reaction if she caught you staring.

It's not quite sunset on Auditorium, but the light is beginning to assume that coppery hue you associate with it, the light casting bronze shadows on the whitecaps of the artificial lake. A flock of seagulls fly overhead, their cries simultaneously raucous and mournful as the two of you walk together through the seaside residential district. The bottles in the six-pack of beer dangling from your hand clink together rhythmically as you walk along together.

She's quiet, staring out with an oddly wistful expression at the water. She was reasonably chatty, talking about the repairs to the Tarrasque and how she's glad you removed the parts tainted by being touched by the Green Skulls directly, she even joked about how she was really the one paying for the beer when you got it. Over the last quarter-hour or so, though, her conversation has faded to silence, and there's something oddly sad about the usually fierce woman.

It's no 5 star cruise, but I hope the entertainment and accommodations have managed to meet your expectations. Maybe I should take some pointers for future ventures?" You grin at her, opening things up with a joke.

"What?" She looks up at you, confused, then grins wanly back. "Well, the staff were dreadfully rude and the pick-up was a little...rough...but the host can be quite charming when he bothers to be, and the fact that he took my wedding present back from some truly dreadful people is rather endearing. The food was so-so, and the brig was dull, but my current room is rather nice and I've enjoyed seeing the stars from your ship."

"Not bad for an intemperate beast." You shoot her a wink.

"Even a strong pair of shoulders can already be overburdened with more troubles than a humiliated pilot turned captive deserves to add to. Do not trouble yourself." She turns away.

"It's too late, I'm already troubled by seeing you unhappy." You insist, "Fa, please, don't do this alone."

She's as stubborn as you've come to expect, her shoulders only tense more, her knuckles whitening as she grips the railing.

"It's not about wanting, Admiral." She says, her voice dry and rough, "I am Fatima Ahmad, daughter of Abdul Ahmad. I am more than just an individual woman with her own desires and strengths, I am a daughter of a family line that stretches back to the first Muslim King of Britain on ancient Terra. This alliance will wed strength and influence in the new Solar System League to my father's household, my children could be generals in the unified army and spread the light of the sun to every system mankind has touched. We need an expert on Islam. Any Britbongs around? Other western Europeans will work fine too.

>[Go after her, if so what say?]
But isn't it also important to make the best decision for your family as well as yourself? Think of what you have seen this entire trip. Good plans almost falling awry because of someone's ill intent. Just because he might make strong bonds doesn't mean he will. Besides, wouldn't you like to see the character of the one you betroth before agreeing that? You deserve that much at least.

>>47847733
Not a good idea, but I advise another; when we do the exchange, work with Fatima and Karen to make a dummy transport ship with her in the tarrasque. We send the ship over in good faith first then ask for the money. If it is a trap.. then we will make the entire thing that more obvious and sour his name.
>>
>>47847790
But then we dont get the megabux ransom money. Which we probably wont get anyway but we should at least make sure its not our fault we dont get it.
>>
>>47847840
We could probably put the stips at Fatima/dowery if we win and we give her up for free if we lose
>>
>>47847858
They have literally no reason to agree to that. Pretty sure kidnappers cant challenge someone for the honor of the person they kidnapped anyway.
>>
>>47847794
This. Also,
>This war you keep saying, has it something to do with 'Avalon'? Is that why your father arranged your marriage to a man who wouldn't even ask for your well-being periodically?
>>
>>47847858
The problem with this entire line of thought is as is Fatima thinks this is the right thing to do. It's monetarily good for everyone involved, even us. Even if we duel, she may go with him anyways because she is willing to do the right thing to protect us.

What we need to do is prove to her that marrying Captain Anger Issues is a bad choice for all parties involved. No honor means no respect and he'd dirty Fatima's family for generations with his deeds. That would go against her beliefs and thus she would come for us. Then we could capture him and ransom HIM for money.
>>
Oh my, it almost looks like the consensus is on following her and saying something that could definitely be construed as a tenderhearted confession of sorts.

Is that so?

Are you asking 'do you want to try and protect her smile'?

Answer the question, Wong.

It's probably the wrong thing to do, aye. But Roarke is a man of passion, not of wisely thinking things through.
>>
>>47847971
Its true, he is a bit above average intelligence and a bit below average education.
>>
>>47847971
>>47847943
That'd probably be a good thing to admit. That we know we're not a smart man, but we're a man who follows his heart. A man of passion, with a deep love of freedom, and a deep desire to be with the ones we love, and who lvoe us in return.
>>
>>47847965
That can be easily arranged with a simple test. As mentioned before, get to work with Karen(with Fatima's consent) to make a dummy transport to do the exchange. Have it show that Fatima is on the ship and send it to them first as an act of good faith. Then ask for the money. IF he gives the money and does not attack, then Fatima will go there with the Tarrasque. If he breaks the deal, breaks his promise and all that even when we do this in good faith and respect.. well, that says quite a lot, does it not?

>>47847608
>[Go after her, if so what say?]

Fatima was on of the prophet Muhammad's daughters. One of four perfect women. Apparently people with this name are excited by adventure and change. Let's not use nicknames here.
>>

We are a pirate, sure, but we also protect the smiles of the women we care about. Fatima likes the not-Big Zam. We beat the not-Big Zam. We have said designer on our team now. So...Giving it to her ain't so bad. It sounds kinda shitty and petty keeping it.
>>
>>47848118
Maybe if you read it better, you would notice how I said Fatima would be in the Tarrasque? If they attack us the moment they got the transport, then Fatima can easily call him out on it. That means they DON'T get it OR Fatima if it's a double cross.

Whether or not that's a worthwhile trade is another matter, and one of personal opinion.

>>
>>47848349
And you keep ignoring the entire point of the idea with your stubborn attitude. We wouldn't be losing anything at all. Period. Fatima would not be on the dummy transport, nor would the Tarrasque. Considering even Fatima says something is really wrong with the deal, it makes sense to use caution and a test of sorts to see if he's truthful. Considering he will very likely NOT pay the ransom or keep his promises, then there is reason to show Fatima this to see if he is truely right for her and her family as a whole.

You know it's a bad idea. You know very well all of the reasons why this cannot possibly work.

You've known ever since that first suspicion began brewing in you about who that mystery woman was who slipped into your bed that one night and held you until you fell asleep. You remember her height. You remember her warmth. You remember the scent of her perfume and the way she held you as if it was her only chance to do so.

Your feet are moving. Without you telling them to. One step. Two steps. Three steps, with less interval between them...and then you're running, running along the water's edge as the sun sets, Fatima's dark hair floating like a stormcloud ahead of you.

"Wait!" Funny, in the simvids you've seen, nobody ever stops when the hero says that. Normally it's just useless noise. Fatima must not watch a lot of simvids, because she slows to a halt and turns to look at you, her face streaked with tears.

You don't think, you simply react. You're holding her in your arms before you know it.

"Fatima, I'm an idiot, but I'm an idiot who follows his heart, so just listen to me for a minute. How am I supposed to be happy without you, exactly? What am I going to do with nobody to verbally fence with? Who else calls my harmonica a French harp like it's something special? I'm a pirate because the two things I value most are freedom and...and..." No, you're Roarke Starwind, you do NOT verbally flounder, "And those who are precious to me. A real man doesn't watch a woman he cares for cry without doing anything. A real man fights for her. He shoulders the burdens she chooses to share, and supports her with the ones he can't. To give her happiness. To protect her smile. All I want is for you to entrust that smile to me, will you?"

"My...my wolf...even when I say no, you don't listen..." She sniffles with a smile.

"Not at all. So what about it, will you be mine? I know your father would want you to be happy too." You add softly.

Unrelated. Do we have any information on the Avalon group? Are they the extrasolar ones with the wild as fuck mechs with knightly names?

I ask because I'm the asshole who keeps posting the Paladin stuff, and it was decided the ship name is Cheval, and the crew is Argent Chevaliers.

Also unrelated. The Paladin S clocks in as a Medium Heavy with MA10 at 59.9 tons, and the Paladin G as a Armored Heavy with MA15 at 59.4 tons. Both carry a normal shield at the same size as their frame and armor. Both have an MV -1. >>
>>47848983

I'm not 100% sure because from what I recall your pastebins were ultra-barebones and I couldn't extrapolate from there...but I'm pretty sure that even with no fancy tricks and no fancy systems it's impossible for you to have that level of Verniers and Weight Efficiency on a Medium Heavy Mech for roughly the same point value as the Osano-Wo.

Also, keep those names quiet, if the wrong general hears "Paladin" or "Chevalier" you'll become a higher priority target than Roarke.
>>
>>47848867
Then should your duty be true to you then? What point is duty if it's not true? If you are set on this, I won't stop you, but I ask that you make sure that he does right for you and won't betray his duty to you. After all, don't wives test the mettle of their husbands to see their worth so that they can fulfill their duties?
>>
>>47849011
The X, which is a Super Heavy (appropriately upgraded shield as well) with MA20 is 303.5.

>>47849083
Well, I'm mainly using a mech building from 1d4chan, and checking it over myself after everything is done. And the weight efficiency is just like two CP on the S. The Verniers make the modifier pretty high, but considering how cheap it is before modifiers...

And yeah. I made up the names for everything before you mentioned anything about Avalon and all that. And now I'm kinda worried.
>>
>>47849131
Yeah the S is 109 something before Modifiers. Then *1.47 from Modifiers to make it 160. Then weight efficiency for two tons to bring it under 60 tons mkes it 164. The thrusters are something like 24 points on their own. The 4 verniers are the .4 part of the modifier.
>>
>>47849083
Not him, but good to know. Was working on the Nightingale for batch of mechs I was making. Would explain a lot for it's meaning even though it's design and build is meant to be more a customized 'rich kid' toy to a degree.
>>
>>47849198
How did you get the additional x0.07 modifier? What Cost Multiplier Systems do you have?
>>
>>47849220
That came from the control system. 'Other - HMIS'. There's basically no other modifiers. The G (and unposted X) have Heavy Hydraulics, but not the S.
>>
>>47849131
>MA 20

Wew lad. How are you fitting all those thrusters and verniers into the frame? I'm...still kind of convinced that something must be wrong with the math. You've got a cost multiplier system and a heavyweight mech whose frame alone is extremely expensive, and then apparently it's good at EVERYTHING. It not only weighs about as much as a SOUL machine average despite being several weight categories higher, and then having a tiny MV from Verniers, but you're talking a lot about how cheap it supposedly is.

I'd really feel uncomfortable including any of those mecha in the setting without going over the math with you, particularly given that just today I accidentally forgot to factor in the cost of armor on the Bluegill.
>>
>>47849283
Let me put the math on the sheet and I'll post it.
>>
>>47849251

The HMIS is just standard. It doesn't cost anything special.
>>
>>47849198
Assuming http://pastebin.com/uDTRday4 is still your current design, the cost looks a little low at first glance, though the lack of detailed logs makes it tedious to calculate.

Perhaps you might want to run the numbers again, and check that you didn't make the same mistake of forgetting to add the cost of your armor, or only adding it for one servo?
>>
>>47847622
Key word. considering.
>>
By the way, in the discussion thread, someone asked what my favorite mook mech was. I gave a different answer then, but the truth is, thinking about it...it's the Harpy.

The Harpy is the reason why this is Mecha Space PIRATE Quest in the first place.

Originally I was going to run this as a proper game on suptg or something, with the players as a small squad of bright-eyed teenage rookies fresh out of the Academy and testing the new Pumpkinseed until they got their individual, unique SOUL machines. I had the introductory arc pretty much planned out, including the spoiled and smug villainess Red Siren of the asteroid belt and her Harpy-piloting minions. The thing is, I ended up liking the Harpies a lot, and just on a whim I started thinking about how I'd handle upgrades for a pirate...and realized I liked the idea of cannibalizing mech parts, even if just armor plating and sensor cores and such, to build a mech larger and stronger. The idea felt a lot stronger, so I went with it.

It's been a day for it, man. Imagine how I felt when I realized the proposed Shining Finger beam fists for the Kaiser would add a whopping ~100CP each to it.

However in the end I felt it vindicated the Anon who said that solid metal plates and mass weapons are the pirate way. It's for the best.
>>
>>47849550
Yeah, 4 CP (they're cheap crap). It's in there, jsut not on the sheet itself. Added it now.
>>
>>47849585
Wouldn't standard Main plus Backup Sensors normally cost 6 CP in total? Or are you using the 2 CP Striker Main Sensors?
>>
>>47849550

He's also over or near the point where Maneuvering Verniers stop being cost-effective compared to Weight Efficiency. It could be useful for the Kaiser to get Weight Efficiency soon.
>>
>>47849538
Ah. Well, looking it over, you would have enough spaces over all for the thrusters and verniers. Would be just enough, though.
>>
>>47849585
>>47849624

Either way their base cost should be multiplied by 1.4 because of the verniers.
>>
>>47849644

It's a pretty cool mental image, a huge, heavy mech that suddenly opens up all of these microthrusters and verniers.
>>
>>47849666
Indeed. Honestly, it's making me look over the cardinal to make sure it's properly designed and efficient. I could probably squeeze in some verniers if I take in the knowledge I have from the other projects. Then it can truly be a Red Dom!
>>
>>47849650
>>47849644
The G clocks in at 337.8 now that I found the issue.

So the Paladin S is 244.8, and the Paladin G is 337.8. The weights are still correct, 59.7 for the S, 59.4 for the G. That was calculating right, atleast.

>>47849666
Yeah, that was the whole idea of the damn things from the start. This enormous mech that just is packed full of thrusters and slightly adjusting plating that zips around like it's a fucking hummingbird. Like how the Barbatos in Iron-Blooded Orphans zips around Grazes like they're standing still, but nearly 1.5* bigger.
>>
>>47849666
We talking about the Kaiser? Because turning it into the Mecha equivalent of Ali with all those thrusters sounds super dope.
>>
>>47849752
So basically give it the equivalent of the Quick Boost thrusters from Armored Core.
>>
>>47849770
Maybe, never played AC sadly. Hopefully it will help our already great abilities, which will be hopefully amped by further training with Master Asia.
>>
>>47849827
Never had gaming consoles as a kid, but the Boys and Girls Club in town played Gundam Wing, which solidified my love of Mecha over Dragon Ball Z.
>>
"I care about duty too, and I have a duty to protect your smile. To think about a tigress like you caged is so tragic it makes me angry. If he makes you unhappy, if he does anything to hurt you, I will come for him. I will destroy him the way you once told me he would destroy me, and I will take you back. There are not enough warships nor enough mecha on Jupiter and Mars to stop me." And then on impulse, you kiss her.

She doesn't hesitate at all either in kissing you back. There's tension in that kiss, tension that started when you carried her back to the Rhinehawk on your lap. Every insult or argument or mutual act of petty aggression between you snaps like a twig and becomes kindling for the heat between you two. Her fingers dig into the front of your shirt nearly hard enough to rip it, and you run your fingers through her dark hair beneath her headscarf.

Finally, you pull away, and her half-open eyes drift completely closed, "But you will respect my choice in the meantime, yes?"

"I will." You say softly, the heat inside you going cold around the edges. You can tell from the fact that she isn't looking at you what she's decided, "My fleet is at your disposal, Lady Ahmad."

She smiles, but it's a sad, sad smile, so you add something else, "...And at least we'll always have one night where freedom mattered more than duty."

Her cheeks glow more brightly than the artificial sunset as she punches your arm, "You brute. You absolute, unrepentant brute."

It's coming in at 65 tons by my math. Did you remember the weight of the shield?
>>
>>47849936
Of course... not. Shiiit. Ok, add on another six tons of weight efficiency to both. Atleast that's easy. It just boosts their cost by 12, since that's applied after modifiers.

So 256.8 and 349.8. Pain in the ass. I'll just have to talk to my GM. Considering he has one player, and I haven't built some retarded broken piece of shit (just a super fast tonk) I think he'll be ok with it.
>>
>>47849922
And now hoping when we get all of our waifus will still be in one piece
>>
>>47849989
Hangar's probably a wreck by now.
>>
>>47849979

Actually, you have to recalculate your thrusters, too, because Weight Efficiency is applied after thrusters are purchased, meaning that you'd buy thrusters as if your mech weighed 65 tons instead of 59.
>>
>>47849922
That should not surprise you, I am a Wolf, your Wolf, after all.
>>
>>47850002
fffffff

I dunno. Looking at it, the weight seems to be correct. Remove or modify the shield, the weight goes up and down properly. It's weird, I can't figure out where the extra tons go.

...am I forgetting fuel? I swear to fucking christ, if I'm forgetting the weight of the fuel in the thrusters, I will lose my mind. Especially since my computer's battery is already dying.
>>
>>47849989
They will be. Would Roarke doubt it? Meh, I don't think so.
>>
>>47850002
Actually, referring to the flowchart on pages 16-17 of the ATM, weight efficiency is factored in at step 12, while MA and other relevant stats are calculated at step 14.
>>
Oh man this is just like my Mexican romance comics
>>
>>47850088
...hey you're right! Oh you sexy beast you. You've saved me a lot of work figuring the thrusters out again!
>>
>>47850103
not enough crying men.
>>
>>47850055

Fear not, there is no fuel. We don't use that optional rule here.
>>
>>47850283
>>47850122
Well, I'm off. My battery is dying, so I can't stick around and figure out how else I messed up with the Paladins. Thankfully, I think they're all sorted out now, sitting pretty at 256 and 349. I'll be able to talk my GM into it easy. I hope.

And they're still 60 ton behemoths that zip aroung at 10 and 15 MA respectively, and a MV -1. They're glorious little fuckers, even if they're more expensive than I thought.
>>
>>47850088
Wait, if thats true, then that means the movement is recalculated thanks to that for the Cardinal. With the amount of thrusters it has, that increases it's MA to 16 from it's previous 12. Thats a LOT of cheekie!
>>
>>47850088

It's calculated at 14, but you buy thrusters in step 9. Weird.
>>
So how are we going to deal with the waifus when we get back to the ship
>>
>>47850455
Firm but fair. Make no mistake, we are the boss. Hell, we are the Dom.
>>
"I'm a wolf, after all." You remind her. She laughs, quietly but genuine.

"So, who was that blonde girl, the one your mechanic was arguing with? I did not catch her name." Fatima comments offhandedly as the two of you walk back towards the mech bay.

"Lieutenant Alice Clementine Farragut. She likes being called Clemmy by some people. Her nickname is-"

"The Butcher." It isn't a question, and Fatima is giving you a very wary look. Then she claps her hand to her mouth, "You left the Butcher alone on your PIRATE ship with someone that habitually annoys her elders as much as Karen does? The same Butcher who single-handedly slaughtered all of her comrades once before? Admiral!" She gives you a light bonk on the head, "I overheard you were bedding a romancing a butcher and thought it meant you had a taste for honest tradeswomen, not...not that creature!"

"She's fine!" You promise, "She's perfectly alright!"

"When you are around, perhaps. Sometimes a woman can be the sweetest creature Allah ever breathed life into when her beloved is around, and Shaitan incarnate when he is not. There is a demon on board your ship." She stares judgmentally at you.

"It's fine. Clemmy is a good girl." You don't hesitate at all, "I bet you that absolutely nothing is wrong when we get back."

"Oh-ho? And if I take that bet, what then? Will you say you weren't serious? What are we gambling for, O Gallant Admiral?" She mock-swoons.

>[What will you bet? Getting her to change her earlier decision is sadly out of the question]
>[Say you were just kidding]
>>
>>47850570
>A favor owed down the line

We can do something cute with it after the fight with her fiance
>>
>>47850570
I bet a night on the town with you, anything you wish for is my command. Paint it red for all I care.
>>
>>47850610

With her money?

>>47850598

It has to be at least specific enough to entice her.
>>
>>47850570
Is she still sleeping in the cell? if so,have her Upgraded to the best suite on the ship.Bunking with us obviously
But I trust that Clemmy is a good girl so the bet doesn't really matter.
>>
>>47850570
>"Whoever loses shall owe the winner a kiss."
The adept gambler makes it such that he never loses.
>>
>>47850644
Pssh. No of course not, if we lose it's on us. Who do you think we are? A common vagrant? We be it all.
>>
>>47850644
Then tell her the winner gets to ask one favor of the person and they have to follow it
>>
>>47850694
>>47850694
It could be a window into Fatimas fantasies. Nothing wrong with this option.
>>
>>47850694
but will we breach her trust if we ask her that favour?
>>
>>47850889
No its completely wholesome
>>
>>47850889
We can tailor ours to be as easy as can be. No need to rush things. Maybe Fatima would like to be pursued.
>>
Hey guys, we're talking somewhat about keeping Fatima - the problem is the shame on her family and her sense of duty. As long as we can get her betrothed to fuck up and attack, then the deal is off, right? If we publicize that shit, her public duty to marry him is severed. After that, could we do a strategic alliance with her family? Nothing as formal as a letter of marquis, but something requiring a liaison officer, perhaps. ..
>>
"A kiss on the cheek, then. For the winner." You state solemnly.

She looks at you suspiciously, "Definitely a wolf. Just this once, and just for you...but I'm telling you, I fully expect a bloodbath unless what I said earlier sunk in."

The mechbay seems normal. Technicians are still doing what technicians do, when they get off their asses to do it. "No bloodstains." You comment, "How do we track them?"

Fatima asks a technician, and you two make your way to a small breakroom. Inside, you can see Samantha freshening up everyone's tea, the four women sitting together and presumably chatting.

>[Continued]
>>
>>47851123
Clearly what you said, and what I reiterated had an effect. Then kiss her on the cheek.
>>
>>47851094
Privateers, on behalf of Fatima's dad to search the truth of Suleiman I. At least, that's the official story.
>>
>>47851123
Samantha ya sneaky trap. She probably grew her 'alliance' and put herself on top.
>>
>>47851214
>Any new waifu immediately gets a sit down with the original waifus about rules and pecking order
>>
>>47851197
Thats...nearly perfect.

Or the simple way is we gimmick the Tarrasque with a "return to base" override, the Commodore jumps the gun on his betrayal (she's still outside the ship) and we get her back cheap, not for ransom. She's a legit captive, after all, and it was the "good guys" that blew the exchange. No shame on her name or house...

Fatima glances around for onlookers before leaning over and kissing you on the cheek, looking rather too pleased with herself for someone who just lost a bet.

You can't help feeling a little smug, too. Samantha looks up and smiles, seeing you. She brushes a lock of her dark hair out of her eyes and pours a cup of tea for each of you, bringing it over and going up on tiptoe to give you a kiss, "At least they're not fighting anymore. I admit, I was a little nervous having them here, but the Lieutenant definitely wants to learn everything about you and Karen likes telling stories."

"...And that's when he told me if I ever took a nap in his Harpy's storage module again, he'd leave me on an uncharted colony and fly off..." Karen is in full swing.

"You know, she never tells that story when she's sober..." You sniff the tea suspiciously.

Samantha's smile only grows sunnier, "Poisoning the tea itself is silly, if I wanted to put something in it, I'd smear it on the cup itself. Oldest trick in the book." She isn't actively denying it at all.

[Next session is Friday. It's a while off, but that gives me time to prepare]
>>
>>47851561
Oh man Wong. If you were a real person I'd buy you a beer. The cup poison thing is something nobody I know gets.
>>
>>47851588

I'm pretty sure I learned it from one of the Redwall books.
>>
>>47851693
>>47851693
Regardless. Nice. If you are ever in central Cali i'll buy you a beer.

just caught up thread and am trying to think of a Description for it which do you think is better

Shouldn't this be on /qst/?
