Shinobi Quest #10

This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event.

(It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)

Previous Threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Shinobi%20Quest

Last thread, Tsuki Norihime did some planning with Hinata, picked up some practice swords, learned about puppetry and her newly named Stellar Release, and asked about her mom.

Oh, and the Hokage came to visit.
>>
“Obviously the quality of Konoha’s leadership leaves much to be desired.”

The last thought to go through your mind as Itachi Uchiha, the man indicated to be your new sensei, left your house.

Had you hurt his feelings? You hoped he wasn’t that fragile- though he didn’t seem angry, just sort of disappointed.

Minato, the Fourth Hokage, seems frozen to the spot. He cannot believe Itachi just left.

Eventually, Kakashi Hatake, the Hokage’s right hand, speaks.

“Well, now you’ve done it, Tsuki. Cut right to the heart of the matter.”

You turn to the white haired-man, who has put his little book from earlier away.

“The Hokage wants to keep you safe- all three of you. For a new teacher, you could certainly do worse than the prodigy of the Uchiha household. Looking back, I’m grateful that my students didn’t reject me so off-handedly.” he says, walking toward the Hokage.

“The Hokage didn’t make the choice lightly. All ninja spend a few missions chasing cats, Tsuki. Just because you think you are above it, doesn’t mean you are. And besides- I hated cats. Still do.
Anyway, excuse us.” he says. He wraps his hands around the Hokage’s waist- then *poof!*- both them of have vanished!”

Is that some sort of jutsu? Interesting.

You feel…

1. Somewhat vindicated. You’re still not happy about this.
2. Remorseful. Maybe you shouldn’t have been so unpleasant.
3. Nothing. You’re glad this interruption has ended.

Tfw anons are bullying best Uchiha just because they want to hang out with Danzo

I like Danzo, but Itachi's pretty cool too.

I'd rather cut to the heart of a matter than dance around it. Apologies if that gave offense Itachi-Sensei.

We weren't really that disrespectful, we just let it be known that he wasn't Ebisu and didnt care one way or the other if he was our sensei.

I chose it 'cause the character wouldn't really like it.

I do like both Danzo and Itachi, too.

On the one hand Itachi definitely wasn't the intended target of criticism. On the other hand both Kakashi and Minato didn't seem to understand the ACTUAL concern or give Tsuki a chance to explain. They seem to assume she's just being a stuck-up bitch rather than considering the possibility that she's legitimately concerned that Minato's going to end up stifling her team's growth out of fear.
>>
>>47615696

>4. Confused. Why didn't Itachi defend himself?
>1. Vindicated. If he can't defend himself, then obviously we were right about him.

Tsuki is still a teenager, if that. It's okay for her to make mistakes.

Just remember that people die every time you do. No pressure.
>>
>>47615696
>For a new teacher, you could certainly do worse than the prodigy of the Uchiha household.
We need more evidence of that than simply being told so! A kickass ninja does not inherently a good teacher make. We're entirely within our rights to worry that concern over keeping us safe has sacrificed us actually getting taught.
>>

Hmm... you've got a point. Maybe we should chase down the Hokage and try to explain things.
>>
>>47615841

Nah.

Explain it to Itachi, though.
>>
My suggestion for us during our Uhiha guided teaching is firstly make up like a mature person and a refined lady, apologize for our tardiness and say how we look forward to learning under him, give a polite bow and get down to business.

For all the thing Itachi is and isn't, he is a hard worker and a caring (but a little twisted) person. I say we make up and hit the montage

>>
>>47615870

Make up, but explain that we don't want to be treated like fragile dolls despite the Hokage's understandable fear of his daughter and two VIPs being hurt.

So wait, now when something super serious comes up is Minato not gonna have any right hand men to send out. Or would we go with itachi thus ruining the whole point.

and I concur
>>

He's got more than two trusted subordinates.
>>

Just going to point out, Itachi was the only one of the three who treated Tsuki's concerns with any degree of seriousness.
>>
>>47615961
Those guys are for something merely serious. I said SUPER serious.
>>
>>47615930
>>47615930
We took his left hand, not his right hand
>>
>>47615930
I imagine that if something super serious comes up he'd send a different jonin. Kakashi is not really that super amazing compared to the other jonin. Its just that he has the Sharingan. One of the reasons Kakashi is in his position is probably because Minato can trust him, being his pupil after all.
>>47615971
We should still apologize, its not like we are some uncouth mud farmer.
>>
>>47615988

A bunch of subordinates at once, then.

Or we get Genma or Anko as temp. teachers.
>>
You’re conflicted. While you meant what you said- Itachi himself wasn’t the intended target of the your criticism. He personally hadn’t done anything to stifle you, and in fact didn’t even defend himself.

Why? Why would he just walk out like that? Maybe the reaction he had gotten from Nori and Hinata hadn’t been spectacular, either….

“Tsuki.” You hear your father’s voice from your left- he’s been here the whole time, silently observing. You had entirely forgotten.

“Yes, father?” you respond dutifully.

“Did you tell the Lord Fourth about your concerns before just now?” he questions.

Oh.

“That may have ah.. Slipped my mind, Father.” you respond, eyes downcast.

He laughs. “Just like your mother. Do me a favor and at least make nice with Itachi. His ANBU corps are big customers of mine- and while I doubt he’s gonna find a better deal, it’s my policy to be on friendly terms with our clients. Last thing I need is him to be bullied by my over-eager daughter.”
You…

Question!
Do we show Itachi the Stellar release?

Pros:
He's our Jonin Sensei, he'll probably find out eventually.
He can help train us in it.
He has the Sharingan, and can probably use it to get a better idea of just what the hell is up with it beyond just being Really Really hot.

Cons:
Danzo might not like it.
It'll probably be noted someplace official, and thus the Hokage will know about it, as will some possible foreign ninja villages.
>>
>>47616158

Let's ask Danzo first, before we do anything about it.
>>
>>47616158
For the moment lets still keep it a secret.
>>
>>47616158
Danzo asked us not too, so not unless we get the ok or we have too.
>>
>>47616158
>Do we show Itachi the Stellar release?
To be determined. On the surface he appears to put a lot more thought into how he interacts with his future team than anyone else involved, but we have no way of knowing how that initial appearance will translate into reality.
>>
>>47616158
I suggest we keep it a secret until Danzo says so
>>
>>47616158
>what the hell is up with it beyond just being Really Really hot.
Um, excuse me, its Really Really hot and evidently has Mass, get it right.
>>
>>47616158
Well the Sharingan can't copy a Kekkai Genkai. So Itachi's guess is as good as ours or Danzo's.
>>
>>47616072
>>47616074

Minato is Minato. He's the source of Naurto's doofy optimism and never say die attitude, and got automatic cool points for being dead and knowing neat techniques.

But he's also a huge dork- and being strong doesn't mean you're a great parent. Especially when you're leading a nation and have a lot more things to worry about than your daughter and her friends not liking their teacher.
>>
>>47616222
No, it can't copy it, but it can read how chakra interacts with the world with far more accuracy and theoretical understanding than the Byakugan.

“Yes, father.” you say. You head outside- surely he can’t have gotten too far.

You quickly scour the manor grounds, but don’t see him. It’s midday- you doubt he’s hiding anywhere. Unless he can teleport like Kakashi seemed to be able to…

Eventually you see him- standing by the railing overlooking the Hokage mountain.

While you initially don’t want to interrupt his peaceful moment- you probably should.

“Uhm… Itachi-sensei?” you start- it comes out a bit awkward and quiet. You aren’t used to addressing him this way.

He slowly turns towards you. “Ah, Tsuki. I hope I didn’t cause a scene- I doubt Minato took that very well… Your teammates had very similar reactions. I think he was hoping that you would be a bit more accepting. Is there something I can do for you?”

“I… wanted to apologize. For all of us. We’ve been worried about how the Fourth was going to handle Ebisu-sensei’s replacement, and figured he was going to assign us a bodyguard instead of a teacher. We want to grow, not be strangled to death. We know that we can become strong, and serve Konoha as well as any other shinobi!” you gush.

Itachi smiles, and walks towards you… and pokes you right in the middle of your forehead.
“...eh? Ow! Why would you…?” you react.

“Come, sit with me, Tsuki. I would hear hear about you and your teammates, your wants and desires. If you want to become strong, I would be more than happy to help you achieve new heights. All of you three have great potential- it would be remiss of me to stagnate that on the account of Minato’s desires. He’s a good man, Tsuki- he just worries. Ebisu’s death greatly troubled him, and it was then he came to me, asking for me to take his daughter and her friends under my wing.

You…

1. Take him up on his offer, and spend some time with Itachi.
2. Politely decline, but say you will meet with him soon.
3. Decline. You’ve said your piece.

“S-sure, that wouldn’t be so bad, I guess…” you mutter.

You aren’t sure what to make of this man- he took your apology at face value, and now wants to spend some time getting to know you. He’s definitely earnest.

The two of you walk over to a nearby tree and sit down, across from one another.

You aren’t really sure how to start…

“Ah, let me start, Tsuki. It’s often easier to open up to people when you know more about them.” Itachi says, with the same gentle smile.

He talks about himself, his childhood among the Uchiha clan, about his love for his younger brother and his family. He says that while they’ve grown apart as he’s gotten older, that he would still do anything for them.

He talks briefly about his brief time at the academy, and his own time as a genin. It seems he too lost one of his teammates early in life. You can tell he’s trying to downplay his own accomplishments- graduating the academy at 8, becoming a chunin at 10, joining ANBU at 11… and made it’s head at 16. It’s insane. Is he even human?

You listen to everything. You figure he’s skipping over certain things, but it’s probably because of his ANBU work- classified stuff, as Danzo has explained.

“Well Tsuki, that’s me, more or less. I hope I didn’t bore you.” he says.

Far from it. He’s very interesting- for more than just a few reasons.

You…

1. Begin to tell him your story (leaving some things out)
2. Begin to tell him your story (Tell him everything)
3. Have a question before you continue. (What?)

Love dad, getting along better with teammates, the full details about the mission, Danzo's wisdom and worldliness, the maid's cookies, missing mom, that stuff. Don't talk about how we know Danzo is ROOT, nor how he's training us, nor all the other potentially damaging things.

You take a deep breath...

“Not boring at all, Itachi-sensei. I do have a question, but I’ll wait until after I share.” you say.

“Of course, Tsuki. Please, go ahead.” he responds.

You start with something small- one of the first memories you have. Sitting on your father’s lap in his study, both of you looking out the window. He was explaining how the electric lights in town work- and you understood. This made you happy, and you said as such. Father laughed, praised your intelligence, and patted your head. It’s a precious memory, and one you hope you’ll remember forever.

From there, you explain your life growing up in the manor, being collectively raised by your Father, Maru and Danzo. As you mention Danzo’s name, you look for any reaction- but he doesn’t seem to react, other than to be listening intently. You continue, talking about how Danzo taught you the basics of ninjutsu, chakra application, and so on, and how this teaching helped you greatly during your time at the academy. You talk about your friends, and about Nori and Hinata. He laughs as you talk about your interactions with them- he seems genuinely amused by your story.

You talk about getting to know Nori and Hinata better, and eventually reach your introduction to Ebisu-sensei. You talk about the bell test, and it’s results, and Nori’s use of her strange chakra. He nods at this, but says nothing. You go on to talk about the mission- and you spare no detail. The entire event is practically engraved into your mind, anyway. Eventually you reach Ebisu’s self sacrifice- it still wrenches your insides to think about it.
Eventually, you reach the here and now.

You sigh.
>>
“It’s definitely a bit odd to hear your entire life summarized and put into words” you say- although it does give you perspective.

“You’ve been through a lot, Tsuki. You and your friends handled it very well. I know Ebisu is proud of you.” he says, looking off into the distance. You’ve heard it before- from the Fourth and from Guy, but it’s still reassuring to hear.

“Thank you for sharing, Tsuki. I appreciate it. Now, you said you had a question?” he inquires.

“Well, yes. I was wondering, how is it to work for ANBU? Seems stressful- yet liberating, in a way. Doing what needs done at the Hokage’s command.” you say, resting against the tree behind you.

Itachi laughs. “You romanticize it a little, I think. We’re not unlike most shinobi. ANBU is simply an extension of Konoha’s regular forces- just specialized in clandestine operations.”

“...but yes, it is liberating, Tsuki. If it’s something you think you might be interested in, after you and your team have grown, don’t be afraid to ask for admittance. I think you’d be a wonderful fit.” he says, beaming at you.

“...I had one other question, too, sensei.” you say, quietly.

“Oh? Please, go ahead.” he responds.

“...Have you ever taught anyone else before?” you blurt out.

He goes wide eyed for a split second, then laughs again.

“Still worried about what I can teach you, or rather, my ability? I suppose I cannot really blame you. I taught my younger brother much of what he knows- and as director of ANBU I am responsible for the training of new agents.”

“Now, I have a question for you. I am skilled in most of the disciplines of the shinobi- and I’m most curious… What would you have me teach you?” he questions, still wearing the smile from earlier.

1. Taijutsu & Kenjutsu. You wish to shore up your weaknesses and potentially learn swordplay.
2. Ninjutsu. It’s your strong point, and you know Itachi must know lots of useful techniques.
3. Physical training- speed and strength. While not directly applicable, you feel like these are important foundations to expand upon.
4. Chakra control and Hand-sign usage. While you feel you have a good grasp on these as well, there is always more to learn, and who better to teach you these skills?
5. Genjutsu. You’ve heard the Uchiha was especially skilled in these abilities.

If you have the skill and the speed you don't need the brute strength

Naturally we wanna learn a bit of everything, but lets start by shoring up a big weakness
>>
>>47617655
Itachi's actually physically frail...I'm gonna go with either Ninjutsu or Genjutsu.

we've got tenten for taijutsu training, we don't need an advanced instructor for that yet since we suck at it so tenten should be enough to get us to 1 or 2 taijustsu

He was somewhat frail in canon due to his plot-illness.

His strength stat is a 3.5, which while not amazing, is above average.

He has a 4.5 in Taijutsu.

Since we already have 10/10 for Kenjutsu and by extension Taijutsu

Hmm, would it be better to be strong, fast and clumsy at hand to hand combat, or very skilled but slow and weak?

They both have their benefits, but our speed is decent, and our strength is kinda useless if we can't get into close range anyway.

>>47617655
>3. Physical training- speed and strength. While not directly applicable, you feel like these are important foundations to expand upon.
No matter what, being strong and fast is important. Kenjustu, ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu, puppet, etc... all get improved if we're fast. Like Sanic heghog fast, really goddamn fast!

Look anons if we want to do puppetry we have to start working on it now, its not something you can just dabble in you have to either fully commit to it or not do it besides their are plenty of other good tajutsu specialists its a waste to not work on chakra or Ninjutsu with one of the best in the village

“I’m rather unskilled in Taijutsu, sensei. While I would love to learn some techniques from you to utilize my natural ability, I really need to shore up my personal combat abilities.” you finally say, after much consideration.

“The two need not be mutually exclusive, Tsuki. I agree that we need to make sure you are at least moderately able to cover all aspects of the shinobi- and I suspect you’d like to be able to use the swords you took from Raiga, am I right?” he responds.

“Yes, I would, sensei. I’ve already bought a pair of practice blades to begin learning- I feel like I’ll be able to make great use of them.” you answer.

He stands up, and offers you his hand to help you up.

You take it.

“Thank you for giving me this chance, Tsuki. I now understand your reservations, and I promise you won’t regret your choice.” he says with his soft smile.

“N-no problem, sensei!” you stammer, quickly retracting your hand. “B-besides, it’s Nori you’ll need to worry about! She’s a wild one! And she’ll probably be late to boot!”

He laughs. “I look forward to talking to them both in earnest. We’ll accomplish much together- I can feel it. I only ask that you give me some time- I can’t promise to change the Hokage’s mind overnight.”

You nod.

With that, Itachi begins his decent down Hokage Mountain.

“Tomorrow, meet me on top of the Hokage’s offices. Morning should be fine, there’s less people then. Bring your swords. We have a lot to cover!”

You bid him farewell, and exhale.
You really aren’t sure how to feel about him, but you can decide tomorrow.

Time is river, flowing ever forward. The next few months of your life will be very busy, you suspect.

You will have to make a great many choices on how to manage your time between training, missions, socialization, and independent study.

But, you look forward to these challenges.

Is there anything else you wish to do, or anyone you wish to see?

If not, we will initiate voting on how to spend the next four weeks of Tsuki’s life.

All this and http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Human_Puppet tells me is that Human puppets retain their chakra and kekkai genki. Nowhere is it mentioned that we can't channel our own chakra/Kekkai Genkai through normal puppets.
>>
>>47618739
It doesn't say it can happen either. The point of human puppets is so that they can do jutsu. Regular puppets can't because they never had a chakra system to begin with.

They're not like melee weapons, which you're in constant contact with, they're at a distance. Chakra strings can be cut, too. So that's a thing.

Ok Bunny Puppets, each only like a foot tall

#1 Kunai for paws, nice and simple Melee bunny
#2 The Bunny from monty python, got a bear trap for a jaw

The first thing you’ll need to do is try to determine how much time will be spent on training, how many missions you accept, how much time you wish to study on your own, and if you wish to spend time with others.

How will you spend Week One?

1. Focus primarily on training (Will go to training subvote)
2. Focus more on missions (Will increase your standing within the Leaf)
3. Focus more of independant study (Increases INT and can learn Jutsu from the academy library)
4. Spend time with your team / other people. (Grow closer to your comrades or people of your choice. Will write a little vignette detailing the experience)

I don't see why we can't learn the basics of puppetry through shadow clone jutsu whilst we do other training with Danzo. Isn't that the main reason why shadow clone jutsu is so good.

Well, being able to use jutsu willy-nilly also seemed like it'd get rid of the drawback of the technique, too.
>>
>>47619484
The drawbacks of the technique is needing to build a robot and spend ages learning how to use it, so most puppet masters are relatively shit at everything else, which means they have to focus even more on the puppetting, wich leads to them being even more shit at everything else...
It's a vicious cycle.

Ninjutsu isn't even that good with puppets, fuinjutsu seems to be the alternative that most puppet users go with. Things like explosive tags and poison gas can sub in for most ninjutsu pretty well.
>>
>>47619572
Plenty of sealing techniques can contain a jutsu for later use, those can be used with puppets.
>>
>>47619572
i think Tsuki's exceptional enough to learn puppets to some degree and still be a ninjutsu powerhouse, that said, we'll just have to see. though I wonder if we could give puppets fusion cores made from our release...

You opt to follow this training regimen:

W1: Training with Itachi
W2: Training with Danzo
W3: Missions
W4: Do all 4 equally (Training with Itachi)

Week 1:

You report to Itachi-sensei as requested, and he proceeds to educate you on the basics of taijutsu (+0.5) and Ninjutsu (+0.5). He also teaches you the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique, a basic C-rank offensive ninjutsu. You also feel yourself growing closer to Itachi…

Week 2:
You opt to spend this week focusing on your release training. Because you stole him last week, both Hinata and Nori will benefit from training with Itachi. (+1.0 Stellar Release Mastery, will go further into this in a moment) You feel yourself becoming closer to Danzo….

Week 3:
This week you focus on completing missions. All the missions you are given are menial tasks, but you perform them with gusto. (+ 7 Completed D-Rank Missions, +Team 7 Bond)

Week 4: You decide to spend time doing a bit of everything, while training with Itachi. While you don’t feel yourself become more proficient in Ninjutsu, he does continue to teach you Taijutsu (+0.5). He also teaches you another Fire Technique: Fire Dragon Bullet, a short-range fire technique you saw Ebisu-sensei use during the fight with Raiga. You also complete a few more missions (+ 3 Completed D-rank Missions). You spend some time in the academy library, but not enough to make any significant impact on your abilities. You do read up on the basics of puppetry, however, and pick up a basic practice puppet from TenTen’s shop.

Writing Team Event, then we’ll go into the Stellar Release information.

I'm not sure that's what you think it is. Judging from the other times people use scrolls I'd guess it was either:
a) just a bunch of water sealed in a scroll
b) a jutsu formula, like what Kakashi used to summon his dogs underground

a is noting but a regular storage seal, and b is just the written equivalent of handseals, you need blood to activate it and still need to use all the chakra you normally would, it only saves you time.

You also bring Itachi-sensei along. Although you frame it as a group teambuilding excercise.

He very quickly realizes this isn’t the case.
The three of you begin to pile your bags upon him; soon enough he is carrying multiple bags piled high.

“G-girls, I don’t quite see the positives of this exercise…” he groans

“Nonsense, Sensei!” You shout from ahead. “You just have to keep up with us!”

This is greeted by laughs of approval from Nori and Hinata.

Alright, this is gonna be somewhat messy. We're going to start with Technique creation.

You have reached a high enough level of mastery with stellar chakra to create a technique- through rigorous trial and error, you are able to refine a chosen proto-jutsu into an actual technique. During this time period, you’ve also tested various applications of stellar chakra.

Known Proto Jutsu, with currently known effects:

1. Add more chakra! (short range blast of intense heat energy)
2. Try to condense the chakra (creates tiny sphere of light)
3. Attempt to direct the flow of chakra (mid-range blast of energy)
4. Internalize the chakra (energizes you and makes you feel stronger and faster- for a time)
5. Use a different body part to try and utilize the chakra (Focusing Stellar chakra into different body parts produces different effects)

You’ve worked long and hard to make it practical- and you think you’ve done it! By consistently pressurizing the chakra, you can create the sphere. While it is quite chakra hungry, it’s destructive power is quite amazing.

The biggest issue is actually hitting anything with it- it has weight, and the longer you hold it, it gets bigger and heavier- making it even more unwieldy. However, you’ve determined that if you build up a large flow of stellar chakra behind it, you can release it all at once- firing the sphere off forcefully. It allows you to hit foes more reliably, and you can charge it for a time to increase its destructive power. It’s downside is just how consumptive it is- with your current levels of chakra usage, you feel like you’d only be able to use this twice, maybe only once if you charge it up.

But, it certainly looks pretty while it flies- like a shooting star, or a comet.

What do you wish to name this technique?

You decide on Stellar Release: Shooting Star!

(You have unlocked Stellar Release: Shooting Star Technique)

During your training to hone your Stellar Release, you reach an epiphany- you should try infusing Stellar chakra into other techniques. Not all techniques will be compatible, but it’s worth a shot to see how the effectiveness increases- you figure obvious choices are techniques of the Fire or Lightning release. Others may also be a choice, if they react to chakra. You might need to be careful, though, as Stellar Chakra is very volatile.

List of Compatible Jutsu Known:

Shadow Clone Jutsu (Mastery Level too low)
Fire Dragon Bullet
Great Fireball Technique (Mastery Level too low)

Do you wish to try combining Fire Dragon Bullet with Stellar Chakra?

Might as well try it, right?

While performing the signs for Fire Dragon Bullet, you try building up stellar chakra in your stomach instead of just fire chakra.

You feel it build- it churns in your stomach, and you nearly feel like you’re going to vomit.

You power through it.

After what seems like an eternity, you exhale- expelling breath of bright blue flame!

As it strikes the dummy, it goes beyond just burning it- the dummy seems to melt away. It also leaves residual flames that seem to burn for longe than normal.

Very interesting indeed….

(You’ve unlocked Fire Release: Stellar Dragon Bullet! It consumes more chakra than the standard technique, but is more damaging if hit. Think of it as napalm vs standard liquid fuel flamethrowers)
>>
>>47620065

You feel accomplished, looking back upon the past month. You feel stronger, and you know your teammates have learned and grown as well. (Updated the pastebin!)

These are small steps though, and you know this. There are probably still several weed picking and cat chasing missions in your future, but you cannot help but feel that if you continue to train and work hard, you and Team 7 will achieve great things.

Before you fall asleep, you remember: The Chunin Exam finals are tomorrow. You’ll definitely need to be there.

Keep in mind that if we wind up doing some dark shit and it gets connected to the blue fire we can NEVER let people connect it to us.
So either we keep that shit on the down-low, or we try to split it up into different sections. Like I don't think the blue fire and shooting star can be easily connected, they don't look or acts like eachother at all. But that's to normal eyes, for all we know they're easily connected by anyone with a sharingan or byakugan.

No, as they are basic releases that most shinobi can use at least one of. I instituted the leveling mechanic behind your unique release so I could measure it, and also to gate certain techniques and combinations off behind a level wall.
>>
>>47620988
why not just straight up bribery
>>
>>47621015
So does Itachi belive we just have Fire Release and not Lightning? or what because us naturally using two with little effort may ring a few alarm bells.
>>
>>47621011
Boruto Quest? ;P

>>47620974
Sakura is the lowest level intellect character smart enough to answer all the questions on the exam; her INT stat in part 1 was 3.5
>>
>>47621015

Has our character asked Danzo about when we should reveal the release during the time skip?

And has Itachi asked?
>>
>>47621011
We aren't playing Takeshi, and I don't think we know any genjutsu(barring academy jutsu). On an unrelated note, how do our arrows react with fire or stellar chakra?

Explosive chakra arrows when?
>>
>>47620760
The Land of Bears Arc.
That wasn't body movement, it was chakra shaping while (mostly) standing still using the changes in their chakra due to radiation poisoning from said meteor.
>>
>>47620966
We're not taking the chunin exams right now, and if we were Hinata could easily get the answers. The question is how to get the answers between us. Maybe chakra string telephony? Attach covert strings between us and use chakra pulses like Morse code?
>>
>>47621029

Smart enough to answer.

But was she smart enough to get them right?

Though I think we'll do good with a 2.5
>>
>>47621022
>>47621031

Danzo's answer is to wait as long as possible before revealing it. There's no hiding it again after that.

You have no idea what Itachi thinks about this subject. He hasn't asked about it, however.
>>
>>47621015
Okay. Jutsu Mastery? What is it and how do we know we are getting close to mastering a jutsu?

Also: sweet nothings.
>>
>>47621054
Has Danzo commented on our training with puppets? No social part with him? :(
>>
Im actually keen on ditching the Bow, maybe give it to Hinata.
>>
>>47621052
Though getting it to three with some library visits while also picking up some useful jutsu wouldn't be a bad idea I think.
>>
>>47621052
She answered them correctly, by herself, without cheating.
>>
>>47621054
> wait as long as possible before revealing it.
It's an ace up our sleeves.
We don't use it until we have to, at which point we bust out something crazy and obliterate the threat.
>>
>>47621067

Very true.

>>47621069

Then we'll do well.
>>
>>47621059
You got a social part because of Week 4.

You gotta spend more time with Danzo to get me to write, anon <3

>>47621059
You haven't shown Danzo the puppets

>>47621055
It's only for Stellar Release in general, measuring your ability to harness stellar chakra- not specific techniques. You'll know through using the techniques how proficient you are at them

Send sweet nothings to Twitter as instructed
>>
>>47621067
Or maybe just play a lot of shogi against Shikimaru.
>>
>>47621102
I would very much like to do this in the near future.
>>
>>47621102
Could work, especially if we want to explore his viability as a potential husband for Tsuki.
>>
>>47621022
I think in general people are not going to assume a new kekkai genkai popped. "Just happened to be a natural at a second release beyond their primary one" is gonna be WAY more common.
>>
>>47621096
Okay was just and you'll accept my sweet nothings here or never receive them.
>>
>>47621125
Just curious! Fucking goddamned bullshit phone!
>>
>>47621022
>>47621122
We could just be a ninjutsu prodigy, we DO have an insane score for a genin already.
>>
>>47621102
>>47621112
>>47621115

He'd agree- but if you don't keep it interesting he'll get bored.
>>
>>47621148
Only one with a stay at 3.0 besides Nori's bullshit Uzumaki stamina.
>>
Ok folks next time we really, really need to buckle down and learn puppets better. like put a decent amount of time into it
>>
>>47621186
Puppets are never going to happen, sorry.

I think Orochimaru's gonna make his move next thread.

I think shit's gonna go down serious.

>>47621215

I want puppets to be explored, at least, but it's not gonna happen next thread.
>>
>>47621186
I don't like puppets: they encourage over investment in one tool. Chakra threads though...
>>
>>47621186
I'm keen for that. especially for altar ego
>>
>>47621223
Wrong Chunin exams anon. thats in like 6 months.

>>47621186
So long as we can eventually work our way up to more than one puppet fuck yes.
>>
>>47621186
Only if by practicing lots it means Danzo will get us a cool teacher. considering the few options all of them are pretty badass
>>
>>47621262

Are you sure?

This is a Quest, not canon. Shit can be quite different.

I think that puppets are a good tool, but specializing is a bad idea. The bunnies seem very useful in battle and allow us a bigger arsenal. It's not like we're hurting for cash.
>>
>>47621283
But the bunnies are puppets anon? as seen in >>47618806
>>
>>47621283
In Naruto specializing isn't a bad idea though, in universe almost every ninja is specialized anon
>>
>>47621283
Yeah, a few simple specilized mini puppets seems good, plus controlling multiple puppets is probably a chakra control thing and were pretty good at that, so the bunnies could work.
>>
So are we going to cheer for that bastard Neji? He did call Tsuki cute. But he is branch House and a pain to Hinata.
>>
>>47621283
Why is Specializing bad? In Boruto quest we are being a multi tool/genjutsu, in Leaf ninja we're a ninjutsu/melee bulldozer, why not specialize her? whats the problem?
>>
>>47621317
I say we cheer for him since Naruto has Nori, Hinata will be neutral
>>
>>47621317
>>47621340

Nope.

Cheer for anyone who is fighting him.

Especially Naruto.
>>
>>47621309
Yes, I'm saying learning the basics is a good idea. Puppets are useful, but my issue comes in investing that time to go from average to great.

>>47621313
But right now we want to learn to be good at swords, bows, Stellar, and puppets. That's not specialization. If we want to be even halfway competent at those things we need to make concessions in how much we know of others.

>>47621329
Because simply put there is a lot more potential in not being a one-trick pony. I think that we should work on puppets and Stellar personally, but I understand some people want to work swords so I'm willing to admit we can stand to learn some Kenjutsu.
>>
>>47621283
What if we use chakra threads strung between kunai to entangle a target, then ran Stellar release through them?

Stellar Detcord.
>>
>>47621380
I think the method I was aiming for is we have a shadow/Stellar clone fight among the puppets while the real us is hidden away from sight ready to make a get away if needs be.
>>
>>47621223
I wasn't saying I was opposed, but it's pretty much guaranteed that well consistently choose not to put into investment into puppets, mostly because it'd suck so much at the start. (Also stellar release and also sword training for the speshul sord is already two shticks, a third would stretch us thin)

A puppet used more like a very versatile weapon instead of a combatant itself would be awesome. Instead of carrying around weapons and ammo, the puppet does, instead of us attacking directly with a sword, we use the puppet's arms to fight for us.
>>
>>47621340
Cheer for him in the most transparently false way possible. Get his name wrong, shout terrible advice, etc.

Posting Puppets (imagine channeling our chakra trough this thing)

The Princess keeps her hands, soft and clean, not dirtying them with combat.
>>
>>47621473
>each crafted lovingly and high on aesthetics

Whenever she has a stressful day, she just comes home and starts working on her puppets.
>>
>>47621485
An escort yes, but an entourage is too big
>>
>>47621543
Whens the puppet she makes that looks like her dead mom?
>>
>>47621556

Why not just use her mom's corpse?
>>
Tsuki works hard, then returns home to lovingly craft her puppets and all their pieces, crafting each with love and care, engraving and working on each till the early morning. Carves her own little symbol into them, she has found something to calm herself and craft something beautiful.

Slowly her collection grows from a single body guard type, a swarm of bunny's and an all manner of designs based on what she has seen in her life.
>>
>>47621564
Its probably not in any use able condition unless her dad preserved it.
>>
>>47621619

Bone puppet

And I was joking.
>>
>>47621619
>Behind her Dad's fire place is her Mom floating in a giant tube Mr.Freeze style

That would be a great reveal
>>
>>47621628

Well her dad is already probably a secret Nazi, so that wouldn't also be too unlikely.
>>
Checking in after the fact. Let's see what happened while I wasn't looking.

>>47619854
Hooray! More bullying Itachi! This pleases me.

>>47620344
Did...

...did we just get a Rocket Propelled Grenade?
>>
So reminder, Puppet practice, practrice, practice. Then Danzo will get us an awesome teacher
>>
>>47621795
>...did we just get a Rocket Propelled Grenade?

Yes.
>>
>>47621802
I'd rather work on earning Kiba back and developing Stellar Release. If anything gets abandoned I'd easily say puppets get it first.
