“Whoa, hey, check this out!” Winona holds out her phone to you, revealing her Twitter feed. Apparently she’s been following Kit Blumenthal’s Twitter.

https://twitter.com/KittyBlumenthal/status/736356279753560064

“We’re not anywhere on there,” says Ingrid.

“Yeah, no shit,” Stack says. Griselda and Denise look over your shoulder at the tweet. Christie is… “I don’t blame her. Christie’s perfect through three weeks, they’re leading the entire Western League.” She folds her arms, pouting a bit at the thought of it. “To think a bunch of Unlimited junkies are getting the drop on us.”

“Hey, Kit says it’s too early to tell,” says Ingrid. “It’s like the first few months of baseball season. Anything can happen.” That is honestly the most optimistic thing you’ve ever heard Ingrid say. “Murphy’s Law applies to any kind of sport with this kind of structure. We’re not Single Elimination where flukes and accidents happen like in the JSF or the ITL.”

“Oui.” Josephina smiles happily. “I believe we will catch up.”

“Christie’s in our Division though,” says Stack. “We oughta get lucky.”

Ingrid smirk at Stack. “Wow, Stack, are you actually moping about something?”

“Whatever,” Stack mutters.

Griselda smiles at you. “Well, I’m optimistic at least. We can beat up on Washington this weekend and play catch up in the standings. Want me to drive you and Denise to work today?” she asks.

“Aw, is your girlfriend driving you to work today?” Winona mockingly asks. You push her away, pouting heavily at her. “I’m joking! Come on!”

You point to your armband. “You’re joking to a Superior Officer! I can hand out NJPs you know!”

“Only with permission from the Block Officer,” says Ingrid quickly. Damn it, Ingrid!

After a quick farewell from Griselda, she gets a call on her phone and has to leave you without too much else. You and Denise step into your Office. And at that, you immediately open the window and bask in the scent of fresh saltwater, the sounds of welding and forklifts, and the imagery of ships arriving into LGA.

Ah, this is the Office life!

Denise sits at her desk, smiling happily. “So, what shall we do today, ma’am?”

Your time at the Office is short lived, as you decide to personally to see all shifts under your supervision for today. Today, you’re not doing any busywork yourself, now it’s all about managing the local workers under the direction of Block Officer Hatteberg. You sit on the back of the Kettenkrad with Denise driving you.

Around you, girls work. They’re directed by fellow Officers as well, along with their older male and female counterpart advisors in the US Navy, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine.

Now that you think about it, seems like everybody’s giving you a lot of leeway. Feels nice.

One girl holds out her hand, calling for you. “Stop here, Denise.” Denise pulls up next to her. Judging by the orange vest around her body, along with a leaf logo on her armband, she must be from the Agriculture Department. “What’s up?”

“One of our Combine Harvesters just kicked it. We’re trying to fix it but our harvestin’ deadline is tomorrow and we’re not sure we’ll make it if we try to focus on fixing it,” she says. “Orders, ma’am?”

Being in the Agricultural Sector was maddening, because the ceiling was one gigantic artificial sun, complete with the summer heat to boot. It made you and Denise sweat in your more proper uniforms while all the Agriculture Girls wore simple light shorts, tank tops, orange vests, and big straw hats for the shade. You’re not going to get on their case for being out of uniform, you’re absolutely baking!

And this is INSIDE THE SHIP.

The Combine Harvester in question was a…

Well, you’ve never actually worked with Combines, but you know that they’re really big and can apparently slice people to bits (Dad showed you those movies when you were a kid.)

Attending to the Combine actually was Winona herself. “Hey!” You point to her, glaring at her. She immediately salutes you, wrench in hand. Her blouse has been unbuttoned to reveal her cleavage, and her skirt rolled up to give more air to her legs. Ugh, no, you won’t say anything. It’s too damn hot. And also there was… Griselda? Winona folds her arms. “Me and my shift were called in to try and fix it but we’re having trouble trying to get the damn thing to work. Looks like a lot of dust in the engine compartment.”

You nod, then look over to see Griselda throwing her arms into the engine compartment. A few farm girls were looking over her shoulder, chatting with her nicely. Griselda smiles at them, cracking a few jokes. “Uh, what’s Griselda-“

“She was here first,” says Winona. “Apparently Griselda helps out the farmers a lot with their equipment.”

“Oh, is she recruiting?”

[1/2]
>>
>>47594087
“Nah,” says the farm girl next to you. “She showed up one day on tour and helped us fix a tractor. She comes back to check in on us every now and again.”

You look up at Griselda. “Griselda!” She looks down at you, smiling. “What’s the damage?”

“Drive train is busted, some of the bolts got knocked loose! Plus looks like the oil’s leaking too, and there’s a problem with the electrics!” she says. “Winona, did you see anything wrong with one of the axles too?”

Winona nods, looking to you. “Yeah, one of the axles busted loose, so the wheels are kind of… not good.” She shrugs.

“Forget it, Griselda.” You point to Winona and one of the other farm girls. “You two, go get a new one out of storage. Tell the Quartermaster I sent you.” They both nod, heading away. “The rest of you, bring out the ARVs, we’ll tow the combine out of the fields.”

And at your command, a pair of M32B4 Sherman TRVs are called into tow the damaged Combine Harvester out of the fields. It’s a careful procedure however not to ruin any crops as its dragged out, careful enough to take quite a while. “Griselda, how long you’ve been helping the Farmers?” you ask.

She shrugs, tugging at her rolled up sleeves. “Eh, since I was a freshman.” Really? “I mean, I usually don’t have a lot to do. It’s not like people come scrambling to me for help with their tanks or anything.”

“Really?” You tilt your head.

“Yeah.” She shrugs again, frowning a little. “Everyone goes to my sister for tank help.” You nod. That’s fair you guess. She sighs a bit.

One of the farm girls walks over. “Ah, don’t be so modest, Gris. She doesn’t just fix our tractors for us.” She snaps her fingers. “I know a couple of girls in the Loading Department that really love Gris cuz she helped fix the engines on some of their trucks too.”

“Yeah,” says another girl. “Not to mention Rescue owe Gris for fixing up their Cat for them.”

“It’s really nothing,” says Griselda. “Honest.”

“Pffft, as if,” says another girl.

Griselda waves them off. “Honest, really. It’s nothing. If anything, you guys should really learn to fix those things yourself.”

“And miss out on you?” The farm girl wraps her arm around Griselda, then pulls her close. “As if!” She looks over at you. “Come on, Lieutenant, she’s a big help, don’t you agree?”

“Wholeheartedly, I believe in Griselda,” you say. “One of the best team captains I’ve had.” And that’s saying something considering you’ve never had a team captain before. Griselda blushes a little, twiddling at her fingers.

Finally, Winona returns with the new Combine Harvester. “We’re baaaack!” she yells from the driving cabin.

You check your watch. Hm, it’s actually about lunch time. One of the farm girls taps your shoulder. “We’re gonna get to work and try and make our quota by tonight.”

“Good, I won’t be around tonight so send your reports to my Office and I’ll review them later.”

“Righto, ma’am!” She salutes you. And off the farm girls go to work. You can’t imagine working under the heat of this artificial light, it’s so hot! You look over to see Denise baking like a potato, waving her hand and brushing more hot air into her face.

Griselda smiles at you. “Thanks for the compliment.” You shrug. It’s just stating facts. “I’ll get out of your hair.”

“Thanks for you help,” you say. “Thanks too, Winona!” you call out.

Winona gives you a thumbs up. “Yeppers!”

Being an Officer means having access to the Officer’s Lounge. It was a lounge where Officers had their lunch breaks. A helping of light lunch foods such as sandwiches, rice, and cooked chicken and hams. One of the personal assistants for one of the Lieutenants is busy grilling meat in the kitchen. “Mhm.” She and Denise smile happily. “Firm…” She pokes the meat with her tongs. “But with a little give. These are medium rare!”

You blink. “What if they want them well done?”

Denise and the PA look at you as if you just killed a cat. “We tell them to go back to chemotherapy,” says the PA. Denise nods, agreeing.

Riiiight.

You pick up your plate, then find a couch in front of one of the TVs. Thankfully, this lavish lounge wasn’t well-filled, lot of work today probably.

“Well, well, well.” Leaning on the couch was a certain Lieutenant. “I had to see it to believe it, they promoted you!” Ensign Caldwell, now a Lieutenant. “They promoted me too just a few days back if you’s was wondering.”

“Nice to see you too, Caldwell,” you say.

“Mind if I have a seat here?” She smirks at you, smugly. “I like eating with company.”

“Um, sure. Go ahead.” She smiles, stepping over your legs, then plopping herself down on the seat next to you.

“Wooo, long day already!” She checks her watch. “Ya know, when I heard that you got promoted before I did, I couldn’t believe it.” You stare at the news. Nothing really new, but it’s better than this useless tripe. “But hey, I guess truth is stranger than fiction, yeah?” She checks on some chicken, watching the news with you. “So how you doing? Been well? Been kissing the right asses?”

“I don’t-“ You sigh. “I don’t brownnose. I earned my position.”

“Hm, hm.” She smiles smugly. Ugh, so smug. “Well, tell you what. You get promoted ahead of me again, I’ll eat my hat and be your slave for the rest of the year.” Ugh, you don’t need another slave. First one was embarrassing enough.

“Look, I-“ Your Officer’s Pad beeps. Oh boy. You pick it out of your bag and look at it.

You stand up. “Oh look at that.” You quickly call for a free shift of workers to attend to the matter, while you will back them up once you finish your lunch.

“Oh?” Caldwell gives you a smirk. “Busy work?”

“No, actual work that requires my attention soon,” you say. “There’s an Ensign that just called for help in moving export items onto a supply ship.” Caldwell nods, still eating her lunch. She crosses her arms, parking her legs on the upholstery. Ugh, have some manners. You’re gonna show off your underwear like that! “Now if you excuse me, I have to finish my lunch.”

She rolls her eyes as you bite down on your sandwich. “Okay, okay, I get it. Maybe you’re just scared that a certain somebody is gonna get the position of Block Officer over you.” Excuse me? “Didn’t you hear? They’ve earmarked Hatteberg for a promotion up to the Command Tower, which means her job is gonna be up for grabs very soon.” That- hm. “Of course, they require someone of sound thinking and not someone that’s so poor they have to be paid by the school.”

“Excuse me?” you say. “I earn my salary, thank you very much!”

“Hmph.” She turns her nose up. “It just seems scummy to me the way you earn money and the rest of us don’t.” How- how dare she!? She smirks smugly at you. “Unlike you, I can actually work without having to be paid.”

“You are cruising for a bruising, you hick!” Forget manners! “Why I oughta-“

Denise looks over, poking her watch. “Elodie.” Ugh, you gotta go. You stand up, taking your plate with you. You turn away and start walking off.

The reason Elodie is paid is because she and her family live well below the poverty line. Elodie has presented herself as very academically gifted, and as a reward LGA offered to place her on a paid salary to assist her and her family's position (in theory at least).

The richfags are all General Studies who pay for their tuition to LGA. But Naval Studies are more universally middle to lower class students who still fit the Academyship profile. Winona is an exception.

Denise frowns a little. “Well, hey, she’s just jealous.”

“Hmph, she could find another reason to be jealous,” you mutter. Denise then hugs you. “… what are you doing?”

“When people are sad or mad, sometimes they just need a hug,” says Denise. You roll your eyes. How mind-numbingly sentimental.

Ensign Jones walks up to you. “Ma’am!” She salutes you. “Thanks for sending me help. I guess I bit off more than I could chew selecting this job for today, hehe…” Your glare silences her. “Erm- we are loading the items with good speed. We should be good to finish by quitting time, ma’am. Thank you.”

“Good,” you say. “Keep up the good work.” She salutes you again, then walks off to rejoin her shift.

You sigh, checking the time. It is just about quitting time too. What should you do?

“Yo!” Winona, Josephina, Ingrid, and Stack meet with you outside one of the entrances to the upper deck. Denise drives you up with her Kettenkrad. Winona smiles at you, folding her arms. “How’s our favorite Zumzum doing?”

“Not today, Winona,” you declare.

“Aw, someone make you mad?” Winona pouts at you. You glare at her. “Someone made her mad,” she says to the others. “But hey, we got tankery practice today, come on! Get hype!” She bounces in her step as Denise drives you along the sidewalk towards the hangar. “Did you hear, Griselda got a new crew to join us today?”

“Really?” you ask. “Who?”

“The Automotive Fan Club,” says Stack. “They’re a bunch of petrolheads that decided to join. Apparently Griselda convinced them to step into practice today and be available for this weekend’s matchup against Washington.” She smirks, pumping her fist. “I bet they’re gonna be great! I’d love to meet ‘em!”

“Any of you know them?” you ask.

“Nah,” says Ingrid.

Josephina blinks. “I-… I hear they’re nice.”

Stack looks back. “So do I! What do you think, Ellie?”

All the crews, plus Oleg, have gathered to meet the new set of four girls. Griselda smiles. “Everybody, I’d like to give a warm welcome to the Automotive Fan Club.” They all wear blue jumpsuits, stained with grease and oil. All of them stand proudly next to Griselda. “Dalia Earnhardt, Eliza Baker, Lilah Petty, and their club leader Henriette France.”

“We’re proud to join the NATO team!” says France. “Griselda has done the Automotive Fan Club a service and we owe her deeply. We will be honored to join y’all in this pursuit of happiness and discipline.”

Everyone gives a polite applause. Well, help’s help you suppose.

“With that, we have Elodie’s crew. The Etiquette Club. The Junior Historians. The Junior Poles. My crew. Naval Studies Rescue. And now the Automotive Fan Club. We are now seven crews strong, and we now have a team to crew the M18 Hellcat that we just converted.” Everyone claps again happily. “Today, we’ll be doing formation drills. I believe that facing Washington, we’ll need to be disciplined to keep up with their speed and ambush tactics. I’d also like to make another announcement, I’d like to say that Iris Blackbourne… please step forward?”

Iris blinks, then steps forward. She turns to face the team.

“Iris is currently leading our team in kills and shots deflected per shots taken.” Griselda smiles. “That’s why she is now going to be our newest platoon Officer.” The team cheers her happily, and Iris simply bows to them politely. “Right then, Oleg has also opened new options for his store as well. So all of you are free to select what mods you want. Iris and Elodie, as our team’s clutch MVPs, will be receiving a bonus allowance of up to 20,000 Dollars!”

… 20,000 dollars?

Griselda nods. “Right, we have practice in thirty. Get your tanks ready. France, introduce yourselves? Let’s get this show on the road, alright?”

Winona looks at you. “You look pale, Ellie.”

> HULL PARTS
> 250 Dollars: Applique Armor Kit – Light – This light armor kit will add 10mm of armor plates all over the tank. An additional one can be bought if need be to increase the armor to an additional 20mm.
> 500 Dollars: Applique Armor Kit – Medium – This medium armor kit will add the full regulation 20mm of armor plate around the tank’s hull.
> 2000 Dollars: Camouflage Screening – This wooden screen can be easily painted before matches to match accompanying terrain, then mounted over the body to form an effective sightblocker or camouflage. It only has enough planks to work in one direction however.

TURRET PARTS
> 800 Dollars: Camo Netting – Camo netting for increasing the stealth ability of the tank.
> 2000 Dollars: Spotlamp – This spotlamp can aid in night operations and in a pinch can be used to blind targets.

> ENGINE AND SUSPENSION PARTS
> 100 Dollars: Remove Engine Governors – Oleg will remove the engine governors, allowing the full power of the engine to be unleashed.
> 5,000 Dollars: War Emergency Power – Oleg can provide a little button that will significantly produce more power from the engine for a brief period of time. However the stress of using this means it can only be used once during a match AND it carries the risk of setting the engine on fire.
> 20,000 Dollars: Convertible Drive Restoration – Oleg reckons he can bring the Convertible Drive system into the tank, which will allow it to run without tracks and at greater speeds. The drawback is cost, space, and THREE DAYS of modification which will render your tank unusable.

AMMUNITION
> 300 Dollars: Machine Gun Armor Piercing Incendiary Tracer Ammo License
> 2000 Dollars: Armor Piercing Composite Rigid – For an increased chance at penetration when loaded into a tank. Only 5 of these rounds are allotted for a match.
> 500 Dollars: White Phosphorus Flares – Can be fired from the turret bomb thrower to mark targets and blind opposing tanks.
> 2500 Dollars: Smoke Shell Ammo License – Unlike the smoke bombs that are fired from your turret to obscure sight, these smoke shells can be directly fired at targets to obscure their vision for a brief period of time.
> 3000 Dollars: White Phosphorus Shell Ammo License – Unlike the smoke shell ammo, white phosphorus ammo will not only obscure sight but also blind enemy tanks for a short period of time. These shells can also be used for area denial.
> 5000 Dollars: Armor Piercing Composite Rigid Ammo License – These are an improvement on the standard APCBC shot used by all other tanks, designed to be lighter for increased velocity while also improving penetration significantly on a smaller target area. However, these shells are not very accurate and you are only allotted 10 per match.
> 10000 Dollars: Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot Ammo License – One of the best ammunition types available. Incredibly improved long range firepower with significant armor penetration improvement, but only 5 are allotted per match.
>>
>>47597827
ACCESSORIES
> 100 Dollars: Tactical Log – Yes, it’s just a log. But Oleg says that a thick wooden log is actually very useful in getting the tank out of quagmires.
> 100 Dollars: Spray Bottle of Water – You weren’t sure why Oleg was charging you a hundred bucks for a spray bottle until he said it was indestructible and that it’s for spraying crewmembers awake out of their stunned states. It does however have only five uses during a match.
> 1000 Dollars: Automated Fire Extinguishers - In the event of a fire, these extinguishers will put out any fires inside of the tank. These are automatic and will deploy at the first sign of a fire. All other cases must be put out manually.
> 5000 Dollars: Snorkel and Watercrossing Equipment – For waterproofing the tank during a match and allowing to stay underwater for extended periods of time. Only works once during a match.
> 25000 Dollars: FG 1250 Infrared Nightvision system – This state of the art (for WWII) nightvision system can be mounted on the turret to provide nightvision capabilities to the Commander. Expensive, but it definitely works.

You blink. “Um. Oleg.” You look up at him again. Jesus wept, what the fuck is all of this. “This is a lot of stuff.”

The APDS gives us a great 'silver bullet' capability against heavies or stuff like the Jumbo we faced last match, while the Camo netting improves our ambush and recon capabilities and the governors being removed means that when we really need it, we can push Oliver to his limits to get out of dodge. This is my current thoughts on the matter. Totals out to about 5100. And covers some very basic needs, like being a little beefier, in armour. The flares are great for flag matches, camo is good for all purpose matches. The log and water bottles are great, because inevitably we or someone in our squad could get stuck and we have another Gagetown situation on our hands. Water Bottle for the sheer fact that Ingrid is on our team. Fire extinguishers to save our bacon. And I like the idea of improved armour power. But I don't want to go whole hog yet and get the super big guys.

C (APDS, no WEP)

It has a different chassis, turret and tracks. It shares the engine and has the same suspension but sized up for the larger Comet. The engine's still a Meteor, but that's about all you could keep.
>>
>>47598501
"Comet was a development of the Cromwell..."

Not the same, but similar, sharing quite a lot of characteristics. An upgrade would probably be possible, but expensive.

A. It allows us to keep some money in our pocket for random expenses, and if anything really exciting shows up in the future. Not to mention we can use the extra funds in helping out fellow tank crews, or a variety of other purposes related to the club, i.e Tank Acquisition.

It was a development of the Cromwell but it's chassis is like you'd taken a Cromwell's and click and dragged it diagonally a bit. The whole thing's scaled up in general, which would be basically impossible to do with modifications. The tank's half a foot wider to boot, and nearly a foot longer.

You grab your chest, sighing deeply as you sign away the money. “You okay, solnyshka?”

“I’m fine.” You hold out your hand, groaning. “I just- I’m not used to spending so much money in one place!”

“Aw, you’re adorable. Do not worry, solnyshka. Money makes world go round, to make world go round, you have to spend money, da?” That-… that doesn’t really make any sense. “Anyway, I will get the parts together, we will have this stuff prepared for you tomorrow by the time you depart for match, da?” You nod, hugging yourself. “Have fun, yes?”

“Right, right.”

Griselda calls everyone out. “Alright everybody, time to practice! Automotive Club, Rescue team, you’re with Iris. Poles and Historians you’re with Elodie. Let’s make things happen, people!”

All of you rush to your tanks.

-

-

“Alright, four tanks! Iris, Elodie, Regina, and Serafina! Form square!” Ugh, again with this. You pop out of the turret and look to see Regina still fumbling about with the controls of the IS-2. Serafina and Iris are slowly reversing together. “Regina, a little hustle!” A few shots sail over your head. You look to see the remaining tanks, Griselda, the Historians, and the Automotive club firing on you.

“This is great!” yells France. “Why didn’t we join Tankery sooner! And this thing is so fast too!” The Hellcat sails past the line.

“France, get back here!” yells Griselda.

“Naval Studies has its pride, but we must admit that we are having trouble reversing!” yells Regina.

> Send Josephina to help.

You hit up your microphone. “Josephina. Dismount and go help Regina and the Rescue crew. Iris, Serafina! Lock your engine blocks around me!”

Josephina reaches her arms up, then groans loudly as she forces herself out of the driver’s hatch. You look down and watch her squeeze herself out. It’s almost like watching a tank give birth. She stops, her shoulders stuck a little. “… Ingrid, could you help me?” Ingrid sighs, pulling herself out, then pulling Ingrid up by the shoulders. “Merci beaucoup!” She drops off and runs off to the IS-2.

Stack and Winona poke their heads out of the turret hatches, Winona having to share yours. “Slow day today, huh? Formation stuff too?” Winona pouts a little. “Boring.”

“Hey, some of the best tankers in history knew how to work in formation,” says Stack. “Just because you can hit something doesn’t mean they’ll let you. A good disciplined formation is part of what makes tankery, tankery.”

Josephina lays back on their hull front, directing them as best as she can. Meanwhile, Iris has locked her engine block with yours. Serafina is still slowly getting into position. Iris looks over at you. “I daresay, shouldn’t there be more to this?”

“What does she mean?” asks Serafina. “We’re just practicing these dumb squares and circles!” Your ear twitches. What’s that noise? You and Iris look to the horizon.

Planes. Lots of them.

oh

OH FUCK IT’S THE BOYS, YOU FORGOT ABOUT THEM “Griselda!” you yell.

“I see them! Everyone scatter!” she yells. All the tanks begin to run.

You load practice rounds into the AA Mounted .50. “Come on, Josephina!” you scream. Winona wheels the turret around to face the planes, giving you a clear shot at their advance. Josephina hurriedly runs, then jumps up and onto the hull. “Get in, get in!”

“Hold on!” she whines. “It takes me like five minutes to get in!” Ugh, why is she big!?

You fire at the advancing planes, and the incoming swarm of fighters breaks off your barrage of .50 ammo. Ha! Wait, bombers! The Lockheed Hudson! They drop a pair of paint bombs, thankfully right past you.

“Wait! Where’s the reverse gear!?” yells France. Their M18 flies past, and is immediately pasted by a paint bomb. “AAAHH! WE’RE HIT!” They spin out of control, and go flipping end over end until they end up on their side. A white flag pops up from the hull side pointing up.

> KO: HENRIETTE FRANCE (M18 Hellcat)
> KILL CREDITED TO: FRANK PEDERSON (Lockheed Hudson III)

“Air warfare is just downright dishonorable! Face us like men!” yells Suvorov as their tank fires up at the incoming planes. For their troubles, they receive paint to the side of the tank. “AAHH! CHYORT!”

The fighters regroup and start peppering your position with paint rounds. “JOSEPHINA!” you scream.

“I’m in!” she yells.

> EVASIVE ACTION

“Evasive action! Keep us moving!” Josephina screams as the Cromwell roars to life once again, moving around the field. “Josephina, what’s going on down there!?”

“My leg is caught!” she yells. “I’m on the wrong side of the gearbox!”

“Fire smoke, fire smoke!” Stack picks up the bomb thrower and fires off a smoke bomb. It clouds your position, allowing you the safety of obscurity. But suddenly paint gun rounds pepper the ground, and even slice across your turret. “Ah fuck!”

More paint rounds keep slicing through the clouds. Apparently they see the paint cloud and think “there’s something in there, we better shoot it!” That’s not a wrong thought to have but it’s still surprising!

“Lemme at them!” yells Winona. “I’ll shoot them up too!”

Suddenly, moving through the smoke, you see something coming towards you. “WAIT! STOP! FULL STOP!” The Cromwell grinds to a halt, almost ripping apart the treads as you slide in front of a very surprised Iris.

Iris blinks, staring at you. “Oh, were you hiding in the smoke too?”

“Yeah,” you say. The smoke starts clearing, and the two of you look up.

To see dozens of paint bombs converging on you.

This is gonna suck.

“Josephina, are you alright?” you ask.

She groans, mumbling to herself in French for a second. Stack walks over, kneeling down next to her. “I am too tall for tanks,” says Josephina. “My head brushes up against the hatch so I have to tilt it. My neck hurts.”

We can even cater to Josephina to cheer her up, so while we can get hot dogs or burgers or whatever, we'll just drown them in Maple Syrup from le Quebecois.

Can we agree now to get some massage gear, make out to Nona that we'll massage her, then have her give us a massage because she's our slave?

You know.

Should we ask oleg if we can modify the driver's hatch of our tank?

After shower time, it was decided the six of you would go and get something to eat for the barbecue now rather than later. You decided to head to LGA’s local Costco, where you could find food and ingredients for a decent price. “Alright. Feel free to get whatever you’d like.” Winona holds up the mother of all purchasing powers: the debit card. “It’s on me!”

Stack smiles. “I’m going to get some cheese, macaroni, some pepper and herbs, get us some mac and cheese going!”

Ingrid raises her hand. “Hot dogs, can’t go wrong with some relish, sausage, sauerkraut, mustard, the works.”

Josephina looks around. “I-… is poutine barbecue food?”

“Yes,” says Stack.

“Poutine it is then!” says Josephina.

Winona smiles. “Then I’ll get the meat!” Everyone looks over at you. “What are you gonna get?”

Found it a while ago. It's a (mostly) comfy quest of a new teacher at a girls school for soulbound girls. Said teach is an ex military mage and was hired to run the adventurer's club.

It's really quite similar to LGA. Except with all the daughterus and some shifty things behind the scene where MC has to fix things and kill shit.

You put the phone to your ear as you place the boxes of pie on top of one another. Strawberry, banana crème, apple, blueberry, lemon, other flavors as well. “Oleg, you’re sure you can’t make the height of the hatch just that much higher for Josephina?”

“Da, I’d need NATO Official approval. And even then I am not sure why you would want to. Raising driver hatch means bigger target for others to shoot at.”

“It’s-“ You almost trip over yourself carrying the boxes. “It’s for her comfort. I need my driver 100%.”

“Well I am telling you now, I am looking at driver compartment in Cromwell and it is not very… I will agree, is not very spacious. Look, I will see what I can do to accommodate her within NATO reasons, da?”

“Alright, thanks, how much is it gonna be?”

“Oh, no price. I can do it like a couple of hours. My thinking is adjustable seat perhaps. Hm… give me few hours to dwell on it, I will get back to you later.” And with that, he hangs up.

The five of you meet back up again with all of your groceries. “I’ve got ten pies of different flavors,” you say. “Everyone else?”

Stack smiles. “I got Jello and everything I need to make a good batch of mac and cheese!”

Josephina holds up a batch of potatoes and other ingredients. “I have what I need to make fresh poutine!”

Winona carts in an entire dead pig. “I got a pig!” Everyone stares at her. “… what, Costco sells these, right? Besides, it’s fresh! Which means we can have all the meat we want from it! Make ribs, make bacon, make sausage! All kinds of stuff!” You continue to stare at her. “… I also got sodas.”

Ingrid pipes up. “Well I have my own sausages, bread, lettuce, cheese, and everything else I need to make a good Dodger Dog.”

“Aw, no one got cake?” asks Winona.

“Iris said she’d bring cake,” says Stack. “I think the Poles also want to bring spicy sausages too. The Historians said they were gonna bring a big surprise around too. Rescue would bring drinks as well. And the Automotive Club would be bringing the Fireworks.”

“What about Griselda?” you ask.

“They’re providing the location, the grills, and from what I hear some crab.” Your mouth waters a little. The one time you had crab it was absolutely amazing. Dear God… Stack smiles. “Well, Winona, gonna check this all out?”

“Yeppers!” All of you walk to the checkout counter.

Josephina pokes your shoulder. “Oleg just texted me about modifying the seat.” Oh, did he? “You do not have to. I can try to get used to it. I don’t want to be a burden.”

“Don’t worry. He just said he’s going to adjust the seat or something, just relax.”

Josephina frowns a bit, grumbling. “I just don’t want you to go out of your way. I’d hate to be a problem.”

Ingrid says, “You’re a problem if you’re having trouble and won’t find help.”

“Smartest thing you’ve said all day, Ingrid,” says Stack.

And with that, the six of you leave Costco. Denise packs all the groceries up into one trailer on her Kettenkrad. “Um, are you sure you can handle all of that?” you ask.

“Relax!” Denise waves you off. She mounts up, pulling her helmet on. “I can handle this fine. I’ll get this into the storage in one of the kitchens, bring it out for the barbecue later, okay?”

Winona holds out her hand. “High five!” Denise obliges, slapping her hand. “Thanks, doll! You have a good night!” She nods, revving her engine. Her Kettenkrad speeds away, the food shaking in the trailer.

Oh, that’s gonna keep you up all night.

“Well, we should go for the night,” says Stack. “See you all tomorrow?” You all nod. “Let’s have some fun tomorrow! Can’t wait to stuff my face full!” She and Ingrid leave. Josephina as well waves goodbye to you as she finds a different direction to leave in, leaving you with Winona.

And with that, Winona hugs you, rubbing her cheek against your shoulder. “So… you gonna give me a massage? It’s cramped in the gunner’s compartment and it really cramps my shoulders.”

“Tell you what, I’ll get rid of the seat in there to free up some space. Maybe that’ll be more comfortable.”

She pouts furiously at you. “I don’t want my seat taken out! I want massages!”

“You’re not gonna get massages,” you say.

“Hmph!” She folds her arms, turning her nose up. “Mean.”

“Look, unless you’re really struggling for space like Josephina is, your comfort isn’t my top priority.” She grumbles a little, brushing her foot against the ground. “But tell you what. Just for tonight, I’ll humor you.”

Her eyes light up a little. “Yes! Want I take my blouse off or-”

Before this thread Kaput, i want to share this freeze-frame bonus from movie. Rough translation credit to Sanya of WoT Asia forum:

ads(?) on the right side from the one next to the oarai pic going down goes:
-used tank junk parts(mass outlet of M4 sherman parts
-casual tank trip, part: western japan (monthly column)
-large-sized special motor vehicle license for new highschoolers
(**note, this type of license exists in japan, which is needed for specialized vehicles such as bulldozers, crane vehicles, tanks, and prettymuch anything with tracks on them. iirc you need to have a normal car license for a few years b4 you can apply for one, with lessened waiting time for JSDF employees if needed)
-tank search: Kuraoka vehicle storeroom info service, search for vintage tanks, *some other stuff i cant make out from that pic*
-maniac arty club: Special test driving events ongoing

top right has a news flash about the Anzio's P40, right above that tokyo tank show

bottom "related articles" are:
-Neutral highschool considering joining senshado federation (not sure about the name, literal translation)
following text says: Neutral highschool, which has never joined any official matches despite being a strong senshado school.....
-Pravda argues against KB-1 owned by Continuation hs
