The bottom piece is stuck into the baseplate with a regular stud connection. The bar has a little bit of sticky-tack on the back side, which is adhering it to the top piece. The top piece is stuck to a rod that extends backward behind it (you can't see the rod because the gold piece is in the way) from the base of the gong.
