You see yourself…. Flying on a cloud. You’re resting in the lotus position, flying over the inky blackness of the void. The tranquility is nice, it feels homey without being smothering. You bask in that feeling for a while, flying over the vast emptiness, until you see something ahead of you. It’s glowing with a faint white light that refuses to be smothered by the void. You’ve never seen anything like it. You make your cloud go faster, but the light seems to move ever so slightly faster than you. You keep trying to get closer, but it keeps edging away….

There! You manage to swoop close enough to see what it is, it’s a flickering white flame. The last time you saw a flame like that your cousin accidently burned her clothes off, not that she cared, slut. It’s different somehow though, less white and more… Purple?

Before you can get a clearer look, it speeds up and becomes a flicker again. What the hell kind of dream is this?

There’s no way you’ll let the damn thing get away from you! You urge your cloud forward, the dutiful puffy body of water speeds up noticeably. You think it’s…. Happy? Okay that’s weird as hell.

The light speeds on, steadily out pacing you. You try and urge the cloud some more, but the poor thing just can’t keep up. After a long and merry chase (at least you think it was long) you stop, your vision is starting to get bleary and sweat is starting to form on your body. That damnable light is still on the periphery of your vision… You could maybe try and speed up to it, but it would be incredibly difficult. Or you could just call it quits and go back to some idyllic flying.

You’ll catch that smug fiery fuck if it’s the last thing you’ll do. You pat the side of your cloud and it joyfully starts up the chase again. This time is different though, you use the void surrounding you to… Well it almost feels like you predict where it’ll go. You race towards the flickering light, knowing that this time you’ll catch the damn thing. You twist and turn through the void, at one point you even fly upside down. Then you do it, you snag the flickering flame as quickly as you can. Then you scream because you remembered that you’re a fucking void Oni holding fire. But strangely enough, the fire doesn’t burn it almost feels cold. Then you hear loud booming laugh in your head.

“HAHAHAHA, well done ancestor of mine. You’re young, but headstrong and stubborn. I LIKE it. HAHAHAHAHA.” The incredibly loud, but oddly feminine voice says. “I’ll give you my burden, you’re the first Oni born into my family in a hundred years, and it appears a worthy successor.”

You fall into a lotus position on your drive way and beckon your cloud to you, but it doesn’t show up… You can feel it at the edge of your mind, but you can’t call it, you must have worn it out in your dream. Trish raises her eyebrow as you get up from the ground.

“Change in plans hime-sama, looks like we’re driving.”

“Uh-huh, next time Amy don’t believe all the weird shit you see in a dream.”

“Oh shut up.” You growl as you both pile into your car, today was a long day….

You walk into the house and see that your dad, AND your mom are both home. She must’ve gotten off work early… But why? Then you see them, a pair of long triangular ears sticking up from behind the couch.

“Is that Amy!, Oh my gosh we’ve been waiting for like, ever.” You hear HER say.

You didn’t drive back home, somehow a portal opened up and you’re in hell, what did you do to deserve this?

The only thing you can hear over your heartbeat is a quiet, but still somehow booming laugh in the back of your head.
