She points out the fact that now, “Our positions have been reversed. So we’re starting on Gagetown’s side, and they’re starting on ours from last time. Now, I fully suspect they’re going to bring out the maximum number of tanks allowed. And that means we’re probably going to face self-propelled artillery.”“Is that bad?” asks Iris.“Bad? Artillery was one of the major advantages of that midget Napoleon,” says Suvorov. “And he almost conquered Europe with it.”“Riiiight…” Griselda continues on. “We can’t risk going off-road this time. I hate to be blunt, but none of you have drivers capable of overcoming the tank’s overall weakness to mud, except for the Churchill. But I don’t trust sending heavy tanks alone, especially one as important as the Churchill which today is our flag tank.”“We will do our best,” says Iris. “As is expected of a lady.”“Right.” You fold your arms. “So what then?”“We force ourselves up the road, all five of us in a scattered formation, and hopefully we can make a run on their flag tank,” says Griselda. That’s… honestly not the best plan. But against self-propelled artillery on terrain this difficult to cross? It’s probably the best she could come up with. You won’t argue it for now. “Any questions?” Silence. “Well, alright then.” She checks her watch. “You all got some hours before the match starts. Try and have some fun but be at the Rally Point on time.”No need to tell you twice. What to do then?> Go have fun at the fair> Talk with Griselda a little bit> Head to the Rally Point early> Other

> Talk with Griselda a little bit“Are you sure this plan will work?” you ask.Griselda folds her arms. The two of you are alone now as you review the tanks. The huge dent in the frontal armor of the M4 Sherman was being welded over by Oleg as you walk by. “Truth be told no. But we can’t stay in one place with SPGs in play. Super-charged AP rounds of theirs could probably give us a run for our money if we get in close without a plan, and their HE rounds can probably tear off tracks and make us waste valuable time at best. At worst, they snipe one of our tanks before they even see the enemy.”“Hm. There no better way?” you ask.“I’m thinking,” she says. “I’m not my sister, I can’t come up with amazing clutch plays at the last second. But, I think we may have a chance if we can force their flag tank out in the open, find some way to spread themselves thinly. Defeat in detail you know?”“I see.” You place your hands on your hips, sighing deeply. “Well, at least most of the tanks are up and running.”“Yeah, I actually got word that Meryl won’t be in the match today, she wants to fix up her Grizzly Firefly.” That’s one less thing to worry about. “Other than that, yesterday you did me a real solid by coordinate that flank assault.” You shrug. Honestly it made the most sense. If you had stayed where you were, you would’ve been eaten up by suppressive fire from that Firefly. “Which is why, I’m promoting you to Officer.”[1/2]
>>46860326[2/2]You blink. What. “Excuse me?” you ask.“Officer, a squadron leader,” she says. “You’ve done really well in the past few matches, and you’ve already got experience as a Naval Studies Officer.” Er. But, what about- “Don’t worry about the front office stuff like sponsors or money, that’s all me. As an Officer though, I’m going to put someone under your direct command. And as our team expands, so too will your squadron.”“That’s… that’s nice of you,” you say. “I’m not sure if uh… I’m not sure if I’m the right person.”She smirks. “That’s what I hoped you’d say. Who do you want as part of your squadron?”> Iris- Churchill IV (Currently the most dependable teammate surprisingly. When Janek recommended them to me, I figured they would’ve been a bit more mellow but it turns out there’s a very good reason she recommended them to me,” she says quickly. “They’re a real handful but I hope you can bring out the best in them, Ellie.”“I’ll do my best,” you declare.“Good.” She opens her arms. “Hugs!” She immediately hugs you, rubbing her cheek up against yours. You blush a little. Um, you know, all this and that that you’ve done with Griselda. It seems a tad too familiar. She then kisses your cheek happily. Yeah, yeah, okay, too familiar, too close. Please let go.Oleg calls you from the Sherman. “Solnyshka! You fold your arms, glaring at him. “What? Not open to compliments? But seriously, repairs are free of charge. We need to draw them into a trap. A head on is never going to work. Make contact then retreat into the marsh. It'll string them out because of the terrain and we can slowly pick them off. This relies on the assumption we don't get stuck in the mud. Oh well.

>>46863703No... If you had an Abrams/Centurion/Chieftain it could feasibly sit back and knock out the entire team. WWII Tanks don't even hold a candle. It's not about armor necessarily so much as firepower and engagement range. You either need to stick with WWII or push it all up into cold war.

> No, maybe continuing farther north will do.“Griselda.” She looks back at you, curious. “I think that’s a bad idea. They might be expecting that since that’s what happened last match. Maybe we should continue farther north. Sweep around, maybe hit them from the rear.”Griselda looks at you for a minute or two. You realize now that you’re basically stepping all over her plans, but she seems to take it in stride at least. “Alright. Take point then, Ellie. Wedge formation as before, Ellie will set the pace.”Ingrid looks back as you check under the turret. “You know, I’d probably be pissed too if I had some upstart rookie giving all the orders.”“I’m only making suggestions,” you declare. “She doesn’t need to listen to me,” you quietly mutter. You stand out atop as the formation continues moving. Thankfully, the experience of last match has taught Josephina how to keep a slow but steady pace on this mud. But as for Serafina well…“Bah!” They grab a tow hook from the front of the Pershing’s hull, then hook it onto the Churchill. The two heavies clumsily cooperate to get through the mud.“Strange,” says Griselda. “I’m not sure they even realize we’re out here.”“It’s like the scouting report said,” you explain. “They don’t adapt to uneven circumstances. Bad terrain is uneven.” You check your map and your compass, and find that you are indeed now north of the airport. You’re actually making excellent time. However, Griselda pulls everyone to a stop now.“Alright, we’re north of the airport.” She turns out of her turret, then looks over at you. “Ellie, you’re setting the pace for the rest of us. If you see a Firefly, shoot at that first.” Everyone yells an affirmative. “Let’s roll!”Your tanks roll southwards towards the airport, up a relatively long slope. > Fire Smoke: 3 Charges left> Help the Pershing“Give us a smoke bomb!” Stack nods, loading up the bomb thrower with smoke grenades. With a loud pop, the smoke grenade fires, then bursts in the air, shrouding the Pershing and your tank in white smoke. It’s very obvious now where to shoot. But not obvious where you are. That has to buy you some time while you, Stack, and Ingrid dismount. You grab the tow hook, then rush with Stack to the Pershing.“Help us!” yells Serafina as they try to push the Pershing out of the hole forward.“Forget it!” you shout. You hook the tow cable onto their engine block, then signal for Josephina to pivot. Your Centaur tank pivots around, slowly starting to sink as it remains in place. But once it’s all lined up, she goes full speed. The Pershing struggles against the mud. “Get back in your tank, now!”Suddenly, a shot lands beside you and Stack, splattering mud and water on you two. Ingrid hurries you two inside back into your tank. The Pershing starts its track in reverse, slowly pushing mud underneath its treads. >>46867891>Find a bath and cool off.We haven't had one for two days in the mud, time to fix that.
>>46867891> OtherHit those showers for a quick clean up then fun with the crew!
>>46867985This is a good idea, but I think we can do that after a break first. We haven't been the best person to Griselda. In addition, we should probably give some pats on the back to Serafina as well. She's going to be our junior, so we should start spending some time. That and she did help a lot with that southeastern push.
>>46867891> Find a bath and cool off.> Ask Griselda if she wants to join you.We can take a bath AND find some privacy to apologize to our CO, Win/Win IMO.

> Have some fun with your crew.--“Selfie time!” Winona holds up her smartphone. The five of you all crowd around her. Even though all of you are covered in mud and dirt, it doesn’t stop you all from having fun. You’re not used to playing around for the sake of playing around but right now, this is your life. You all smile, then she snaps the photo. “Alright! Haha!” She flips through her pictures as you go back to your booth.Right now, Stack and Ingrid were going head to head with the air rifles. First one to hit the most targets win, and so far Stack had a wide lead over the near-sighted Ingrid. “Dang it,” says Ingrid as Stack expertly snipes every target without breaking a sweat. And to that, Stack wins a Bandaged Bear, one with a bandaged wrapped around his head and leg, and with a neckbrace. “Here ya go, tough guy.” Stack tosses it to Ingrid, who mutters indistinctly as she places it in her bag for safe keeping.“Oooh, look, it’s one of those dancing machines,” says Winona. Dance Dance Revolution to be precise. And it was open. “Ellie, you know how to dance?” Uh. Oh fuck. She grabs your wrist and drags you to the machine. “Come on! Score a thousand points and you get that!” She points to a Bandaged Bear half the size of Stack hanging over the machine. “Winner takes all!”> “Uh, you go on ahead. I don’t really dance…”> “Fine, fine.” Dance your heart out even though you have no concept of dancing.> “Fine, fine.” Dance cautiously. This is a game, not a strip bar.> Other

>>46868322>> “Fine, fine.” Dance your heart out even though you have no concept of dancing.Unleash your inner Lord of the Dance!
>>46868322>> “Fine, fine.” Dance cautiously. This is a game, not a strip bar.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5XxJ4XBm50
>>46868322>> “Fine, fine.” Dance cautiously. This is a game, not a strip bar.
>>46868322>> “Fine, fine.” Dance cautiously. This is a game, not a strip bar.Though out of curiosity why did we get the MVP? I mean we didn't get the most kills, and Griselda got the flag.
>>46868322> “Fine, fine.” Dance your heart out even though you have no concept of dancing. It's time to live a little, Ellie. You deserve it.
>>46868472If I were to wager a guess, it's because our distraction tactics were crucial to our team's success. If we didn't split, the whole team would have swarmed around us and that would be that.Already voted for conservative dancing, but I kinda hope that it pushes Ellie into a very loose state. The night and the celebrations are still young.
>>46868472MVP isn't based on kills, it's how much one contributes to the overall result of the match.First match, you took over and led a counterattack which swept Gagetown after losing Griselda. This match, you saved the Pershing from being swarmed and led away nearly half of all of Gagetown's tanks away from their flag tank, allowing Griselda to get in the winning shot.If you're wondering, yes, it's perfectly possible for you to be swept in both matches and still win the MVP.
Is there anything to stop little girls getting reduced to chunky salsa by a flying shell when they're poking out the hatch? What about those incendiary rockets? That'll be a closed casket funeral for sure.
>>46868322> “Fine, fine.” Dance your heart out even though you have no concept of dancing. This is the only way to dance.
>>46868609Nope. GuP storyline girl quit her original team for salsa related reasons.
>>46868581Does Griselda not consider herself an officer anymore? since she didn't have the * mark
>>46868637More of a soup to be fair.
>>46868609NATO shells will automatically disintegrate themselves harmlessly if they detect humans in their path or are leaving the match area.As for the incendiary rockets, safety is entirely up to teams on the receiving end.
>>46868637I thought it was more about her mother being a psychopath.
>>46868795As an addendum, if a human is directly in front of a tank and the shell disintegrates, the Judges can still reward the hit on the tank at their discretion. So no, you can't park yourself in front of your tank and use yourself as a human shield. It's a marked difference from ITL and JSF which curve away from humans in their path.
> “Fine, fine.” Dance cautiously. This is a game, not a strip bar.“Alright, you got me.” You stand next to Winona on the machine. Big red arrows indicate the steps you have to take. The two of you start dancing as the song comes up.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yca2BCwAnBQYou follow the prompts which scroll up carefully. Ingrid, Josephina, and Stack happily clap to the beat. Hey, this is actually pretty fun! The way your feet are moving and your hips are moving to the beat. You’re doing it slowly of course, because you’re not some whore at a strip club entertaining for cash. This is just a game.Actually, how’s Winona doing?“Whooo!” Winona throws off her Tankery jacket, showing off her busty chest underneath her stained white tank top as she dances ferociously to the beat. Her feet tap and stamp on the prompts, earning her combos and points far beyond your comprehension. H- how is she not embarrassed by this!? Her hair flutters and whips around as she shuts her eyes, raising her hands and shaking her hips. And to that, she nudges your own hips with hers. “Come on, Ellie! You got more hips than she does!” yells Stack. AAAHH THIS IS EMBARRASSING PLEASE STOPFinally, the song ends. Winona has reached 2.3k points, and has won the right to the big Bandaged Bear. “Haha! Whoooo! Come on! Let’s get something to eat!” You check your watch. Oooh yeah, it’s almost time to go actually. But as you leave the tent, you find Griselda standing beside the tent flap. “Oh, hey Griselda!” Winona smiles at her. “Look what I won! I’m gonna name him Cuddles Jr!”[1/2]
>>46869048[2/2]“That’s sweet,” says Griselda. She pinches the big bear’s cheek. “Hey, you guys go on. I want to borrow Ellie for a bit.” They all nod, leaving without you.Uh oh. Is Griselda going to scold you for taking charge? “Um, Griselda, if you’re wondering. I do apologize for-“She plants a finger on your lip. If anymore blood rushes to your cheeks, they’re going to explode. “Don’t worry. I’m not mad. I’m impressed. You really showed some guts out there!” She punches your arm, making you flinch. “Really! You got fire in you, Ellie! I honestly don’t believe you when you say this is your first time in a tournament. How is that possible?”> “I just study.”> “It’s all my crew’s doing.”> “Because of you.”> Other
>>46868637>>46868802Wrong on both counts. One of the tanks under Miho's command fell off a cliff into water. Miho abandoned her tank and jumped to the drowning tank to save the girls inside it, which resulted in BFP losing the match.Miho got chewed out by her mother for that, because Nishizumi style is "disregard the losses and WIN", which Miho didn't like. She promptly left BFP to go to Ooarai.
>>46869073>> “It’s all my crew’s doing.”
>>46869073>It's all my crew's doing>I just study
>>46869073>“Because of you.”
>>46869073> “I just study.”Even if that last one is adorably cheesy.
>>46869073> “It’s all my crew’s doing.”But also > “Because of you.”
>>46869073>> “I just study.”>> “It’s all my crew’s doing.”
>>46869073> “It’s all my crew’s doing.”> "I've done nothing but study before I got into LGA. I wouldn't have gotten my Scholarship and the rank of an Officer otherwise."
>>46869114Right. Her mother is a psychopath. Being berated for stopping girls from drowning and almost disowned.
>>46869073>> “It’s all my crew’s doing.”Im just a mascot. A big dakimura.
>>46869073>“Because of you.”oh sweet lord baby jesus
> “It’s all my crew’s doing.”“It’s all my crew’s doing,” you explain. “Really, they’re the miracle workers. I just make sure to tell them what to do like the lazy bastard I am I guess.”She smiles a little. It’s modesty, yes, but you do know for a fact that it is you doing most of the work in telling them what to do. Otherwise you’d think they wouldn’t last five minutes, even with Stack in their team. “I guess you’re bringing out the best in them,” says Griselda. “Tell you what, you go have dinner with your crew. I’ll try and answer all the questions the media’s got and keep you from being swamped.”“Thanks,” you say. She nods, folding her arms. “And if you ever need me to help you-““You’re plenty help,” she says simply. “Now go have some more fun. This might be the last bit of fun we get before our next match.”“Who are we fighting next?” you ask.She sighs a little. “Robert A. Heinlein.” Oh.Oh.Yeah, that’s… that’s quite the team. She pats your back. “Go on, get.” You nod and then walk away from her. She happily waves you goodbye as you leave. You sit down next to your teammates at a wooden table. Stack nudges you a plate of nachos, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and a large soda. Oooh, lord have mercy. Everyone else has similar plates in front of them. “Before we eat. Let’s dedicate this extremely late dinner to our newfound success! And let’s hope there’s nothing but in the future!” yells Winona. You raise your cups in triumph. “Yeah!”
>>46869574[2/2]--You sit in the bath alone, staring up at the ceiling. Everyone else has gone to sleep, completely dead from the fight and from the celebrations. They took a lot out of you, but at least for now you get some peace and alone time to gather your thoughts. Tomorrow, you’ll talk to your Mom and Dad about your second consecutive MVP, then you’ll talk to Oleg about more modifications, maybe see Kathy for more treasure hunting or Penny for cooking. So much to do.Your smartphone is next to you, still with plenty of charge. You don’t use that thing as much as you should. You find Ingrid and lots of other girls almost always on it. But not you.Still, as the mud and sweat gets washed away…You pick up the phone, then start searching for Robert A. Heinlein. Next weekend is going to be hell in a handbasket.> ROBERT A. HEINLEIN MILITARY ACADEMY> 1st in DIVISION – LAST YEAR WESTERN LEAGUE CHAMPION> COMMANDED BY DIANA “DIX” HAUSER
That's it for tonight. Congratulations on your first weekend sweep of Camp Gagetown, propelling LGA to second place in WL Central behind J. Walter Christie Polytechnical Institute. Tomorrow will finally be an episode of Star Wars to close out the weekend.Follow at: https://twitter.com/GermanSchteelAsk at: http://germanschteel.tumblr.com/Book Tumbles: http://germanschteelbookblog.tumblr.com/See you next time.
Well, that's gonna be !!FUN!! alright.
>>46869678Thanks for running Schteel
>>46869606>Heinlein's backAwwww shitIs that one captain who commanded that Chaffee still doing ITL?
>>46869678Thanks for running!
>>46869606mmmm yes ALONE time~ heheheheuse that phone, if you know what i- *gunshot*
>>46869678That was fun, hope we can get the others to break Ellie's steel shell here. The day will come, I'm sure.
>>46869721She is. Heinlein's NATO team is actually their newest team. Last year they almost won the entire thing, were it not for Kursk knocking them out and taking the title from them. They're led by Diana "Dix" Hauser. They also may have a certain Legendary tank in their roster.
>>46869678Question was it a typo that Griselda didn't have a * next to her name? or is she relying on our character to do some tactics? Also out of curiosity why did Gagetown leave three of their commanding officers in the rear?
>>46869821Typo. From here on Overall Commanders will now have a ** by their name. Also I'm not sure what you're talking about with that last part, their COs were evenly distributed throughout the fight. Serafina even sniped one of them during your little adventure.
>>46869797>Heinlein has Cobra King on their rosterWell I'll be damned.
>>46870011what are the wood stakes on the sides for? weight?
>>46870234Protection, easy to climb up, improvised bridge etc.
>>46869858Really? from how i understood it, the Grizzly commanding officer and the Sexton and the Flag were in the same area before Griselda and her unit came in and took them out. I'm surprised they didn't rally a defense against that. Also were you surprised we won that one?
>>46870384Not really, Gagetown finished last in their division last year. They're actually a pretty easy opponent due to their junior officers and inability to adapt to changing circumstances. On paper and on flat open terrain against an opponent that chooses to slug it out with them, they're fine though.
>>46870413it's strange to have two extremes for our opponents, i mean we had one that was in the top of her league and the other dead last.I'm not sure how to feel about that.
>>46870443Well someone has to be first and someone dead last.
>>46870443Well, someone has to bring us down to earth, right?
>>46870413um, what was Gage town's first match like? How are we in the rankings now?and can we get footage of the previous matches of our next opponent?
>>46870865>Watching tape of our opponentsThat isn't too bad of an idea--get a feel for their tactics and whatnot. However, unless they have helicopters capturing every single moment of every single match, I'd imagine grabbing tape of previous matches of serious tactical use would be limited.
>>46870865They forced a draw with George Washington Military Academy, winning in the Elimination fight but losing the flag battle.2. LGA is second in the WL Central behind J Walter Christie.3. Most likely actually, yeah.
>>46870985Don't they record that stuff for the viewers at home?>>46871002What does GWMA specialize in?
>>46871137Attacking with speed through the use of light tanks like the M24 Chaffee, Stuart light tanks, and M18 Hellcats. They're fragile in straight on slugfests but they're demons on flat open ground where they're allowed to roam.Their only drawback is being led by a trio of girls who believe they're the Swamp Fox, Frederick the Great, and Michel Ney respectively.
>>46869678Thanks for the fun, boss. Saw the end of the match, but sad I missed the celebrations.See you next week.
>>46871209.....Oh so their a worse version of the history club. That makes sense.Who did Robert Heinein and the Russain Casemate team face before in their 1st and second match?
>>46871337Heinlein faced Sherbrooke Girls High and swept them. The Russian Casemate team uh...They faced you. You know. Kursk. The team with all the casemate tanks. The one you forced a draw on. Yeah.
>>46871407Sorry the named escaped me.But who was Kursk's second match? Also who was Heinlein's second match? Also what type of tanks did Sherbrooke used?
>>468714881. Kursk's second match was Kuromorimine Girls College, forced a draw.2. Heinlein's was Zhou Enlai School of Business, forced a draw.3. You'll see later. I haven't ironed out everyone's rosters.
>>46871407>Sherbrooke Girls HighIT LIVES!!!
>>46871532How about Zhou Entai ?Can you tell us about that team?
>>46871407>Sherbrooke got sweptDidn't think they were still around. Good to see they are, in some capacity.Canadian Iron never did come back, did he?
>>46871668They're the Chinese team, whom are very orderly and disciplined, but since most of their talent is concerned with Helicraft, they have to stuff their roster with foreign talent.>>46871557>>46871685He never did I'm afraid. Sherbrooke continues on however in his honor.
>>46871730Chinese team? What do they even have? the only think i remember the Chinese ever using was T-26s, M3 Stuarts, and M4A4, a variety of M3 Lee models, and Hellcats, also Panzer Is and Ft-17s.Am I missing anything?
>>46872076Russian supplied T-34s
>>46872114That was post war IIRC,
>>46872124By that line of reasoning our team shouldn't be using anything but American tanks
>>46872152True but most of these things usually have a theme to them. I mean all the teams we faced had a gimmick.
>>46872169China's gimmick will probably be cheap copies
