To say that your first venture outside of the castle was disheartening would be.... an understatement.

After some minor wound care from Strix, you'd requested some time to yourself, gazing balefully out of your window down at the Wyld that infests your property, only to terminate into the starless abyss that made up the rest of your exiled land. Quite a bit of that time was spent sighing forlornly and occassionally sitting in your plain room.

You should have armies like the kingdoms beyond the mirror! Instead, you had five plant monsters and a withered farmer's tool!
You should have gems and finery! Instead all you had was a dinky, rusted circlet and the clothes you could make.
You should have loyal servants and fine lords and ladies catering your favor! But instead... you were stuck here... alone...

You stomp, making the lone Mandrake watching over you startle silently. You whirl and start addressing the lanky creature, taking its silence as a sentimental ear.
"I'll MAKE my own kingdom, then! And I'll start with that stupid, rotten forest! I'll show that mangy Old Wolf! I'm the Princess! I'm in charge, and if I have to MAKE myself a better Princess out of monsters or lead an army of beasts, I'll do it!"

Heedless of its nonexistent reprisal, you slam the door to your room open and storm out, set on your plan.
"Strix! I'm going out!"
Your voice echos through the empty obsidian halls of your home, summoning your doddering caretaker as if by magic.

Kill it! Something as stupid and wild as a minotaur would be too dangerous to try to keep in the castle. That's where all your stuff is! Er, where it's going to be.

As the hulking beast snorts and huffs, its energy spent from struggling against its bindings, glaring up at you with a dull, hateful eye.

An eye you promptly put out with the gleaming tip of your spear, stabbing deep into its skull. It thrashes one, twice, before the fight goes out of its body and the minotaur breathes its last.

"Stop looking at me, filth."

You sneer and call over your Mandrakes to haul the monstrous corpse back to Castle Golgoth, your caretaker praising you along the way.

"Excellently done, my Princess! That brute never stood a chance against your royal might!"
"Obviously, Strix. Now, how do I use the Harvest Room? I want those horns!"

The hunched scarecrow tilts its wide-brimmed hat to look up at you as you ascend the necessary stairs.

"It is a simple process, my Princess. There are two slabs in the room. One for the creature on one for you. From there, I shall simply take the desires pieces from it and, using the room's magic, transfer those features onto you. Ah, from what I have seen, the process is quite... painful, but empowering all the same."

Huh. No pain, no gain, you guess.

Eventually your party reaches the dank Harvest Room and, true to your servant's word, there are two slabs at each end of it. From the roof hangs all manner of saw and blades and things whose purpose you can only guess, while the middle of the room is occupied by a single, purple globe on an ornate, black pedestal. The Mandrakes dump the minotaur's corpse onto the slab opposite of you, locking it in place with ancient leather straps.

As your scarecrow leads you to the other and carefully situates you against the cold iron slab, he asks.

Strix makes its way to the sphere in the center of the room, reaching out of its tattered robe and grasping it with both hands. The light in the room begins to dim visibly as the orb brightens with poisonous pink energy, lightening crackling from it and striking the roof of blades and tools, arching over and stricking your pair of slabs. Dark power, your Father's power, courses through your body, filling you with a strange hum, drowning out your focus as you become aware of the softened sounds of sheering blades and tearing flesh.

Before you're able to focus properly, you see movement in the darkness about you as the cieling ripples, two clamps holding the freshly bloodied horns of your kill and descending, along with a small crown of needles, drills, and other objects.

You awake in your bed again some time later, aching and weak. You barely recal the agonizing process of the Harvest Room, but you can feel its results settled weightily on your head.

You look at your reflection in the glass of your window and see the two freshly acquired minotaur horns jutting from your temples. Only, they don't look like they did on the minotaur, instead twisted and elegant. Your reflection splits into a grin. You feel stronger already! Well worth the price for the power!

"I'll show those people on the other side of the mirror... I'll show those beasts in the Wyld! I'm true royalty, and I'll do whatever it takes!
