At the very least, it is infinitely better than Harpy Assassin 2, which, if it had a surname like "The harpening" would be a half decent movie title.

for the double aura? will need to start leveling them from the bottom up, though. ah, wait, that may actually be a good idea so they gain stats as a 'higher species' from the start.

Not only could we secretly level Mako up in the Slave class to get Scion, but we need to unlock Scion to Mk2 for the Shadows, and level up all the hidden Jobs like Dreadnought.

Since it's a temporary Class change, I don't see why not.
It's another way to game the system, and Eldric would definitely go for it to optimize everything he can.
And Ami and Mai would probably even demand it so that they can be stronger for Mako and always be summonable by her.

Even if we don't have the time to make our pets breed with each other for fun and producing some kind of ultimate Golden Pet, I'd still like to have a Shadow in a Menagerie for a little while just so we can say we have a pocket ninja.

I also wonder if the alquien shadows should be human after all? yeah I guess it makes more sense? would be shadows that came from those who accompanied the original rulers of the colonies and came from the heavenly empire, after all.

There might be two tiers of Shadows, the Human ones that are meant to guard the royal family, and beastkin assassins and spies that are more expendable.
It might have been done because the colonies don't have the vast resources and infrastructure of the Empire on the old continent, necessitating an increased number of Shadows to get things done.
