Hey guys, sorry for starting late, but ive been afflicted with a huge stomach ache for days now and it was honestly hard to sit up for the thread. Let me know when you are here and we'll start right away.

Miellewds-guy here.
I've had past experience that ginger tea can help with stomach aches, even ginger ale can help. But if it doesn't help, the ache may be more than just indigestion.
>>
>>46692130
Here

looking at the archive this should be EP68?
>>

>But if it doesn't help, the ache may be more than just indigestion.
Most likely. Im having antibacterials and they help a lot so its likely not just mere indigestion.

>>46692361
>looking at the archive this should be EP68?
Oh, my bad then. Ah while you are checking the archives, can you please fish out the name of the scientists we hired? I remember Aldo and Gina but I had something planned with the other guy and forgot his name. Typical, cant remember the one bit I need.

I'll start typing. Oh and about the strap belt or whatever, a friend suggested C-strings. Its similar to a G-string but... well, google it guys and tell me what you think. I imagine something more elegant and fantasy like, though. Something like a band made of brass and gold or so, similar to a torc
>>
>>46692476
Weren't we going to take the girls to the baths, or is that being saved for after work?

I want private bath time with Fahima, Lyann, and Tanis.
>>
>>46692476
Verdi, he was working on barriers
>>
>>46692617
Isn't he working with Aldo to create the personal shield units an the ship-based generator?
>>
This, but with a more fantasy-ish material and design. Im thinking a brass and gold band like a torc, maybe with our coat of arms on a disk at the front?

Like I said, I think it will be fine if its a better material, These look... well, trashy. Just my humble opinion though.

After class, we pay a short and quick visit to our acquaintance bath owner at the orc's capital to reserve the baths for the next day's evening, then [Treestride] again, this time to work at the office in Mantequira.

"I had yet to see the orc's city. It looks very simple yet robust." - comments Kya as we arrive at Mantequira

Right. The buildings are made of stone, but they're not clumsy constructions. They are obviously well made, and you can hardly even see the seams between the rocks.

You cant really call them primitive, but the buildings have solidity in mind first, but very few concessions to style and even less to art.

Uhmm... as a reference, think of a modern bank? yeah, that works pretty well. Most buildings feel like that.

Ah, is Okaba's sister interested? should we invite her for tomorrow's trip? after all, she is here largely to 'see the world' right? it would also be a way to thank her for helping us with our work.

"Brother, are we going to the baths tomorrow after school?" - Zoe asks while looking up at us. She's walking next to us and holding our hand.
"Yes, you like the baths, right?"
"Yes! ah, do you think I can join you in the adults section? I'm an adult, you know?"
"Ah... "Well, its true that Zoe is very responsible and proper, but she's a kitty. There's no way she's an adult" -we answer with a smile as we wave her off gently.

Besides, we do lewd things in the private baths

Definitely better materials. Orihalcum, Adamantium, maybe even some gem highlights.
Would leather and silk be better, though? We want something comfortable as well as stylish.
>>
>>46692731
>Invite Kya
C-strings look interesting.
>>
>>46692802
Well, honestly I said brass and gold because they are materials where fungi, rust and bacteria cant grow, which is one of the reasons they are great for jewelry. You know how high quality door knobs are made of brass? its because it doesn't grows moss, fungi, etc.

If you've ever noticed moss or fungus growing on, say, a door handle at some cheaply built public restroom? that's why. Its because the doorknob its only brass imitation.

Since its going to be on a delicate spot, I was thinking of materials that wouldn't allow for anything nasty to grow on them. But I guess silk and leather are fine if you want them to have several sets they can switch through... which honestly makes a lot more sense. I guess I was silly on thinking of just one set for each.

But yeah, I thought you guys would like the C string idea. The 'dissapears into the ass' is too embarrassing after all, right? This is lewd but not to the same point. Its actual clothing after all. Could even get several pairs for regular girls swimsuits and underwear, I guess?

"That's right, the princess hasn't seen the orcs city before, so she's unlikely to have seen the public baths, right? do you remember when we went to the beach with everyone? similar, but inside a huge room with a warm water pool. Well, i'm calling it a pool but it's actually a bath. Would you be interested in trying it out?"

Kya lifts her chin a little and places her hands on her hips, eyes closed for just a moment. Ah, is that her 'thinking about it' gesture? it looks okay.

Her brother frowns and looks down, it looks as if he's mad, so if you don't know him, you would have a hard time approaching since he's almost always thinking about something.

That's probably why he had few acquaintances during his time in school, to be honest.

"I'd like to go, but I didn't bring my swimsuit. I certainly did not expect to go to the beach in the mountains."

Well, it can be solved if we [Treestride] over to look for it. 100 Mana that way --> then 100 mana this way <-- is pretty much nothing with our mana reserves.

Alternatively, we could ask Lyann to loan her one of hers.

The princess has a great body, I kind of want to see her in a more daring swimsuit. Hers is a one piece that looks like it would be worn at a competition.

"Is that so? your mana reserves must be quite vast. You can [Treestride] us back and forth between Albion, Gardefyr, Mantequira and back to Albion without troubles, and now you are suggesting a trip back to Heven as well, as if it was nothing." -she looks at us with interested eyes

Well, it's not as if I'm bragging, right? I guess we just got used to it.

"Yes! big brother is super strong, big brother is the best!"
"Big brother is the best, uh? You remindme of me." -says Kya with a fond smile as she pats Zoe's head.

Well, it's the sight of two little sisters bonding over their admiration of their big brothers. It's a nice scene.

Honestly, Okaba was already really accomplished without the need for any cheats or advantages, wasn't he?

"Oh, since we are going to your home for a little bit, perhaps you should start thinking about anything else you can fetch quickly and that you feel you should have brought along on your trip."

After all, the 'I should have brought X' thing happens to everyone when they go study away from home, right? I can't imagine it being different, even in another world.

"Right, thank you for your support." -she says, and her wings flutter softly. Oh, it was a bright smile and a cute gesture!

Anyway, we arrive and greet Yin. Ah, we should probably invite her as well, right? yeah, let's do that.

To the public area, anyway. Inviting her to our private room is a little... maybe someday?

It's not my fault! it's the fluffy tail's fault! Really!

"Lord Duke, welcome." -she says as usual

Ah, the office always has a refreshing mood with the flower-like yin in the middle. Her dress also looks rather refreshing. No good, I really am slipping into a dirty way of thinking as of late.

Work, work. Let's diligently work.

The new schools are finally up and running all across the empire. Well, only on towns with more than two hundred people.

In the future, it would be great if even the smallest hamlets had at least one teacher for the children to learn to read and write, as well as basic math. I think there was a old pesudo western shown in the US where there was a single-room school where kids of different ages went together to school.

Something like that has a nice mood, somehow.

"Little house on the plains"? something like that

Ah, the first list with the projects the people at the think tank came up with has been submitted for approval.

These are ideas that the Heavenly Empire's thinkers, which we gathered and decided to subside, put together.

We need to decide which ones will count with Imperial Funding. Let's see... based on the estimated number of people involved on each, and their salaries, and material costs for research... we have a budget of 120.000 gold coins for the think tank's first year.

"A lone scholar has submitted an 'outrageous' report suggesting that plagues and outbreaks may have a reason other than 'miasma,' what do you want to do about it? he says he would need at least three years to submit a proper report. Isn't it crazy to ask for three years funding in advance for something that goes against every accepted theory?" - Yin sighs as she reads the reports to us

2/?
>>
>>46693535
>suggesting that plagues and outbreaks may have a reason other than 'miasma,
I'm actually conflicted on this one.
Yeah, sure, we know about bacteria and viruses, but considering this is a world running on JRPG logic, and terrain has actual hex grids, maybe disease really is caused by miasma.
>>
>>46693590
That's pretty easy to check. Make a crude projection microscope, if you see stuff moving around bacteria exists.
>>
>>46693655
We don't have any lensmakers, though.
We're still building the furnaces just to make bottles, and lenses are a lot harder to make. England spent years and thousands of pounds to reverse engineer German lenses and they still failed.

It may very well take a year or two before we can make a microscope.

Is that, isn't it? Germ Theory. The lone scholar wants 2.000 gold a year for three years, so he can travel to places where disease has struck, for his research. Honestly, with a modern mindset, it sounds pretty cheap and important. But if we say yes, other people will complain about us giving the green light to 'a crazy project' while skipping other s that may seem more sensible to them.

>Germ Theory. 2.000g e/year for 3 years, approved
>Germ Theory research. Rejected

"What else is there?" - we ask while thinking about it
"Ah, yes!" - Yin's ears perk up and she keeps reading the titles on the submitted research options

"Advanced Alloys. It is requested by an association of blacksmiths and alchemists. They want to improve weapons and accessories like rings and amulets. They add 'The use of exotic resources like Titanium and Glassteel can greatly improve weapons. The metallurgy is complex, however, and special tools and forges are required.' And suggest a budget of 25.000g a year to pay for the complex installations as well as staff salary."

>I've never even heard of Glassteel. Rejected
>This sounds promising. Let's okay it

We nod while Yin reads, thinking about it.

"Please continue."
"Yes!"

"Alchemical Furnace. It is submitted by a competing team. They add 'At the heart of the titanium and glassteel extraction method is a vast furnace used to smelt the purified resources out of their mineralized forms.'"
"Is not the same team? really?"
"It's really not. They say they can improve on mineral processing and purification, both in quality, quantity, and operational costs. They ask for 15.000g per year."

>What the hell is glassteel? rejected
>Alright, even if we don't know what glassteel is, it would be helpful to have better furnaces for... everything else. Approved

We were already told the budget is 120,000 a year.
We also haven't heard all of the projects yet, and any projects we approve this year means less money available for projects next year.
Only the Germ Theory guy has given a timeline for his project; the other two just asked for money with no estimate on when they would finish.

>That's the most expensive so far, and they already have installations. Rejected
>Okaba would say science has no price tag. Approved

"Please keep going."
"Alright... Seed Storage. A group of philosophers, sages and a retired adventurer suggest storing the seed of plant monsters to raise meek versions in captivity. It will be inherently dangerous at first while they breed agression out of them, though. The initial cost will be 80.000g for the installations and hiring adventurers who can get the seeds for them."

>We don't really have a food problem anymore. Rejected
>Even if its not for the food, I really want to see if we can grow 'tame' monsters. Approved

"Improved Sewers. It looks like some architects and engineers took notice of the new toilets and want to improve the sewers to make full use of them in a safe way. It's more of a construction project than a research project. I don't know why or how it made it here. The cost would be 75.000g, anyway."

>For the Improved Sewers project, do we have enough money from our dungeon runs to privately fund it?
Sure, but if we use our own money, the books will look funny.

In management, you are taught that if there's slightly less money, there may be a error, but if there's a surplus, sometone's stealing.

It will look suspicious and harm our office's reputation if we privately fund any projects, is what I'm saying.

Well, I imagine Ren can stop people from looking deeper into it, but then it may look like she's involved... it's generally an all around bed idea.

I'm proposing we reject the projects from the Think Tank budget, and have them refile the project proposals to the Ducal Office of Capital Projects, or propose them directly to us, and they will be approved and funded as private civilian projects.
That way the projects are on completely different books and there's no accounting irregularities.

Germ Theory will receive private funding. Its not that expensive, what the guy really needs is the imperial permit to move around, since people arent allowed to freely move without a letter of passage.

Alchemical Furnace: Approved.
Cost so far. 15000g out of 120000g

Geomic Labs. Rejected, but will look into it later

Seed Storage. Approved

Improved Sewers. Well, the Heavenly Empire HAS sewers and sanitation, we are just talking about improving them at a national level, and will try to fund it through another office.

"Very well, sir. I will write the documents and have them ready by the next time you ..." - Yi just realized its hard to say 'next time you show up' to her boss.
"It's alright, Just have them ready."
"Ah, yes sir!" -she nods and smiles.

Ah, her fluffy ears twitched. It looks cutesy.

"Do you happen to know what Glassteel is? it's not something I've seen in the eastern continent."
"Ah, of course. Our palace guards use weapons made with it. If I remember right, it is stronger than steel but not as much as mithril. It is much cheaper than either, however."
"Cheaper and stronger than steel? why isn't it more common, then?"
"It takes a lot of time to work with it, I think. Since the palace guard keeps stable numbers at all times, its easy to keep a stable surplus over its needs. Since it is cheap to make, it helps with the palace finances a lot, as well, and gives the imperial smiths year-long work."
"Uhmm..."

Cheaper yet stronger than steel
Time consuming to make by traditional methods

It seems to be a rather niche material, uh? if its crafting process could be hastened, it would be obviously useful.

"Do you think I could get one of those weapons?"
"Of course, please wait here while I go to the armory."

Yin stands up and leaves.

"She said it was weaker than mithril, right? don't you have a better weapon already?" - Kya looks at us

"Yes, but I'm thinking on construction. 'Cheaper and stronger than steel' would help improve structures and buildings if we can make it more accessible."
"As expected of big brother. Will you make a glassteel rockitship skeleton?"
"...right, that too. I have great hopes for the Alchemical Furnaces, now."

Yin comes back after a little bit, carrying a sheated blade. It looks like a scimitar, but not quite... I think it's called a Dao, right? yep, a dao.

Drawing it out, it is almost completely transparent, with a metallic shine. Glassteel... isn't this transparent aluminium? this is a Star Trek-class of material, isn't it?

Since it is so clear, it is hard to appreciate. Well, we already know its stronger than steel but weaker than mithril. It feels as heavy as steel, though.

I wonder how they make these. It takes a long while, right? is it crystalline? do they have to grow it into shape?

Blacksmithing techniques of a country are usually a important national secret, right? is it okay if I go snoop into the palace smithies and take a look?

Having cleared all of that, we return the sword to Yin, and decide to call it a day.

Yes... work...

Well, it was hard and took hours, but I wonder if you can call it work? If this is work, I want to work at it forever!

Confucius said "Find a work you love, and you will never work a day in your life" didn't he? truly a wise man.

The next day at school, we have a ...

Just so long as we can dedicate more of the thread next week to cleaning, exploring, petting, and tasting.
Like making Fahima be on all fours while we wash her, then ordering her to spread her legs, and use her hands to spread herself, so we can explore her holes with our tongue, as Lyann and Tanis watch in anticipation for their turn.
>>
>>46695350 >>46695444
It will probably take the rest of today, though, is that okay? but then next week we can have a fully lewd thread I think.

Well, alright, I will try to resume it and we can just see how it goes I guess

We need to come up with a way to play with our pets while working. We should give them more attention.
Like having Atruma or Fahima in our lap, petting them as we fill out paperwork or read reports.
Perhaps we should have Miel II assist us in our office alongside Yin, Lyann, and Aritsu, since she is still technically a princess?
>>
While we are working in the lab, Verdi and Lyann approach our desk,

"What is it?"
"Ah, you remember how you were talking with Alard about the difference between monster and villager? for intelligent beings, anyway."

She overheard that, uh? well, it's not like it was anything bad, or a secret.

"Sure, why do you ask?"
"Well, mister Veri had been working on a way to capture dungeon monsters, so I thought he may be interested, and..."

Verdi comes up and starts explaining.

The abridged version

Dungeons are basically living beings which spawn monsters as parts of themselves. Yet monsters are also living organisms.
Monsters are part of dungeons, but can survive the death of a dungeon. We know that, if we remove or kill a Dungeon Heart, the monsters will try to leave and flee upwards as the dungeon collapses.

Given this, Verdi's method to separate monsters from dungeons so far, was to simply capture them in an isolation field, and pull them beyond the area of influence of the dungeon heart. That is, outside the dungeon.

That is why his cages are the way they are.

Thus, the switch between monster and villager depending on different rules, interested him quite a bit.

There are actually plenty of historical examples of other races switching between monster and villager status in the past. Small racial groups which, when abandoning their one city, would turn into monsters until they funded one elsewhere.

This fits with that we know of the salamanders, for example.

Verdi also mentions what happened to the succubus, the shintaros (we have no idea what those are, though), and a few types of birdmen, including the harpies.

Oh, so the harpies were villagers who lost their one hometown? we didn't know that.

Lyann explains that, since we can switch individuals between monster and villager status on an individual basis, we can probably do the same in the opposite direction.

Turn a villager to a monster? would it work? their theory is that it is just another class.

It's what, 20 bucks to have a Class change done at the local Temple?
And as an unlocked Scion, we can do it for free.
It's an easily reversible change, so I don't see anything wrong with soliciting volunteers, or purchasing a slave who gets to be freed once the research is over.
>>
>>46695870
Doesn't wants a pet Lyann
>>
>>46695870
How is it dangerous?
Monster in the Menagerie of a Beadtmaster is safer than a Slave, since it would remove the incentive to put the Slave Collars on Slaves, and anyone in a Menagerie has an auto-resurrect effect on them.
This would be very helpful for the Slaves who work the foodgeons since it means safer work conditions with auto-revival as part of the job.
>>
>>46695800
>Let's encourage them to continue
on one hand this has horrible potential for abuse on the other hand as scions become more prevalent someone will make the discovery anyway. best know the limits before someone else does.

"Alright, but please keep quiet about it and don't bring in extra people, alright? as long as its just us, it should be alright."
"If you say so." - Lyann seems alright with it
"It will be hard to proceed with just us, but... alright." -Verdi seems less confidant about the whole thing, but agrees to our conditions.

Once that is over with, for now, we are finally free for the evening.

We need to take Kya back to Heven, then come back.

Oh, should we invite Aritsu along? I look forth towards the day we can invite Mako to be lewd with us at the pool.

>>
>>46696152
Okay, that's a pretty stupid example of how this could be abused.
A person can't do a mass change to a Class like that; only events such as the destruction of a town (which would have killed most of the people anyway), mass exodus (where they would have become Nomads or Monsters anyway), or their leader becoming recognized as a civilized Class (like Miel and the Honey Fairies) can change a mass number.

And there is no difference to changing a person's Class to Monster if the intention is to kill them.

Going with first post because we're short on time.

***

And so, we are at Gardefyr again, coming out from a small side street's tree and heading towards the nearby baths.

As before, Kya looks quite interested in everything around her.

Aritsu looks quite nervous... well, elves and orcs dont get along too well in most fantasy settings, right? but she still shouldnt really get into any trouble if we just move along.

I wonder if I should have let the pets out so they could sightsee? but herding 9 energetic harpies has nothing to envy from herding cats, you know?

Speakling of them, harpies used to have their own city, uh? or maybe it was a town. I sort of want to read about it later.

They're naturally petite, light and not very strong, though, so I can see them being overrun rather easily... oh wait, they had different evolutions that were like jobs, right?

I wonder if humans would have different evolutions like that. I'm really curious about it.

Ah, if we made Lyann into a monster, it would be fine if we pet her in public? we can already dress her in lewd clothes, would people be okay with it if we player with our pet outside? well, as far as it would be for anyone to play with their dog or kitty back on earth, I guess.

Uh... I kind of want to see her eat out of a bowl, but if I asked her about it, she would probably indulge it, right? Probably. Maybe

Honestly, I mostly want to see what would happen as far as evolutions go.

We reach the bath house and go in. Thank you Zoe for helping control the harpies.

As soon as they come out of the menagerie, they tried to run to the pool.

Oh, Nina and Rose are also helping control their sisters. They're good girls, too!

"Why are you putting swimsuits on your pets?" - Kya looks at us as we struggle with our bluebird harpy and her swimsuit

In order for something like that to work, the Beastmasters would need to be as high level as Eldric. It might work for a bank robbery (if there were banks) or some kind of ambush.
But getting some levels in Ranger and Thief, with some Fedaykin levels would let all of the soldiers sneak in just as easily.
And if the transport Beastmaster dies then all of the Menagerie troops would die. Far better to just have an Archdruid use Treestride to move troops with a single Thief getting the beacon tree into position.

Also, your own troops could be used against you if they're Monsters and there's a Beastmaster among the enemy, something quite likely because of the number of adventurers.

Can someone fish out the harpy names? I cant find the text file OR the pic file I made with them.

>>46696609

It looks like the petite blue harpy is having a lot of fun making it hard for us to get her swimsuit in place.

We are holding her head with a hand as we try to get her to stay still, and slipping her swimsuit upwards of her legs.

"They're girls too, right?"
"...aren't they monsters? You may actually be surprisingly sensitive."

Does she has a better opinion of us. By the way, we never did name this one harpy. Since she's so cheerful, and blue, we always just thought about her as our bluebird of happiness.

Now though, I guess she needs a name? I guess harpies are a type of beastkin, after all.

"Ich!" - we got slammed with a wing to the face

Well, she's a lot weaker than we are, so it didn't really hurt at all, but we ended with a mouthful of blue feathers.

Seriously, its to the point where handling her is a little scary because she's so delicate compared to ourselves. In a sense, isn't that how most pet owners feel, though?

"Aha!" - we manage to pull up her swimsuit in on go.
"Aww..." -she complains as we secure it behind her neck

She really was making it harder so we would spend more time with her, uh? well, technically, the harpies are still babies, right? so that much is alright.

Yes, that much is alright. Let's patiently let them have their fun and healthy skinship.

"If you want a child with wings to stay still, you should pinch their wings together and pull up a little bit."

When Kya says it, it sounds very legitimate, since she has wings herself.

Its probably common sense where she comes from.

Let's give it a try... I can feel some resistance, but they are a lot easier to handle now. Is it because their wings are being pulled up? their wing muscles are probably the strongest in their bodies, right?

I'm not going to hurt them, right?

We had Nina, Rosa, and Adrianna.
I don't know if we named the Seductress, or the Snipers.
Weren't we going to give the harpies collars with their names, so we could tell them apart?
