Quest Start

You and your sister stare in confusion at the prostrating girl before you on your back porch as your mother’s garden extends behind you in the calm evening dark. Lit by the porch spotlight and the over spill of light from the back door into the kitchen, her low shadow stretches out before you as she presents the orange and yellow case of the injection pen.

You don’t know how she came across it, though you can imagine how she knows what it is.

“What is that,” your little sister, Koyomi, wonders aloud as her eyes first transfix on the item until they flash with certain recognition.

She pauses at that, she’s likely been briefed on exactly what this is. Psionic power and potential in a bottle, a weapon of the enemy to turn hired thugs or willing normal humans into weapons without turning them into monsters.

The girl kneeling before you, hands upturned with this terrible find presented to you, is your classmate Saori Umeki. For weeks she had been turned into such a monsters and still has scattered memories of her time in the thrall of the yet fully known darkness tied to your family’s past until you saved her from that fate and purified their corrupting transformation from her and returning her to her normal life.

Though, maybe normal is being too generous as far as she’s concerned.

Then again, you aren’t exactly the poster child for normalcy despite your now disregarded efforts to that end.

You are Mikage Chiba, formerly the third woman to carry the mantle of Sailor Moon after your mother and elder sister. As the Magical Champion of Love & Justice you helped to stop evil threats and protect the world, just as your mother and big sister had done when they were younger, until the trauma of your ultimate victory lead you to abandon the title and duty in hopes of living a quiet life without magic.

Now, your little sister has taken up the mantle and protects the Minato Ward of Tokyo and by extension the world from monsters and plots empowered and enacted by dangers that have risen from the distant and ancient past and perhaps even from beyond the stars as you know them. While she has done this you have stepped out of your self enforced personal exile and reclaimed your sense of self to help protect her and the other young girls rising as guardians beside her.

In doing so you’ve made your own allies and had your own personal strides to recovery and setbacks.

Soari Umeki has proven herself a friend, if a bit awkward, though you certainly have questions about how she came to possess the injection pen. Actually, it wasn’t the only thing that fell out of her bag earlier when she turned to face your sudden arrival, there is also a large book fallen on your porch. However said book looks to be of low cost binding for a doujin circle project, so it’s probably just Saori Umeki’s and isn’t all that important to the matter at hand.

The eyes of your little sister dart up to your own, her long blonde pigtails tied down their length with little bows fluttering in the night air, in quiet confusion and questioning these circumstances.

That the Drama is artificial and mostly caused by anons being bumbling idiots (I still love'em though).

The whole "Let's never be eclipse again!" was retarded as well. It basically amounts to Red-eyes a shit.

People trying to romance Kairi for the sake of /u/ and not looking at the situation also pisses me off.

Yoshi>Sasha>Kairi as far as romance goes.

I'm not anti /u/ by any means but going after Kairi is a bit unhealthy for the both of us.

Not a witch. Slight delay, was distracted by explaining recent happenings in my life to friends.
>>
“Saori-chan,” you sigh as the thin and sullen faced girl tilts her head up to you, “No, I’m really not a witch,”

Your explanation falls on her odd ears as she turns to glance back at your little sister; who looks in turn back down at her along the slanted angle of her spine. It actually confuses you that she prostrated herself before your like this with her back raised and her head held low but her body’s forward weight propped up on her elbows.

Actually, she sparks into action as she whips back around to face you as she rises from prostration to simply kneeling and again drops the plastic cased device as her pupils dilate and her fingers wreathe into her presently not greasy hair.

“Ch-cha-chan?” She says in shock as she curls back in on herself and starts into one of her soliloquies, “I’ve wormed this far in friendship with her that she’s willing to be familiar with my first name and the -ch-cha-chan honorific,”

It actually stops you in your tracks, and quirks your eyebrow, as she struggles and nearly swoons over this.

“This, this is big, I haven’t even worked Osaka-san to saying -chan yet and Chiba-san...no...gotta, Mikage-chan. Oh my goodness that feels wonderful to say. I have friends. Close friends! I’ve never had this before...I’m completely at a loss. Does this mean I’ll have to call Mori-san Midori-chan? Oh my god I’ll be able to call Keiko Sugimoto by her first name to her face and with a -chan!? Stay cool,” she hyperventilates clearly not staying cool and a manic smile spreading across her features, “fuck my standing in the group dynamic or standing this is even better!”

She pulls her hands to her chest giddily as you lean down and grab her shoulder.

“Let’s take this inside,” you glance about the backyard a bit and then help her up.
>>
>>46600657

“-oh, yeah, of course,” her lip wibbles and smiles widely as she nearly sheds tears over what comes next, “Mikage-chan,”

She draws it out. Rolls it over her tongue even though there is nothing to really roll in your name.

“Wait, should I ixnay on the itch way?” she pauses and then asks hesitantly as she finds her footing, “That’s how you pig latin, right?”

“I honestly don’t know,” you muse and lead her inside past your confused little sister, while you weigh the shielded needle in your other hand.

“Oh, hey you forgot your book,” Koyomi kneels down and picks up the other object that Saori dropped and looks over the cover.

>Koyomi, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>Leave it be
>Ask what it is
>Write in

Seating Saori-chan at the kitchen table as your cat, Diana, ducks in the door behind your little sister while she closes it; you regard the black haired girl and the device carefully and offer a small scolding.

“How do you know this isn’t being tracked?” You offer her both jest and actual bit of concern, “I don’t want creeps in black dragging me or my family out of our beds at night. This should have gone straight to Kairi-chan’s mom and the JSDF or PIT,”

She wilts a bit as you set it flat on the table and sigh a bit, calming down.

“Ah- so-sorry,” she stutters suddenly unsure of herself and actually making you feel a bit bad about that as Diana hops up into your little sister’s arms.

“No, I’m just being a bit moody,” or bitchy; you sooth and then smile, “Comes with the getup. So, where did you get it?”

Her face takes serious expression as she leans forward. She really is oddly tall, you note, as she leans quite far across the table.

“A greasy guy with a trench coat was passing them around as samples up, you know, by the bar,” she explains as you remember the low level dealer you terrified earlier while in the guise of the Red Eyed Beast, “Said there was no better high than jumping into someone else’s thoughts. This one supposedly only lasts and hour or two...but that’s how they get you, right?”

“How what get’s you?” Koyomi asks as Diana hops from her grip and onto the table, and she wrings her pigtails and worry, “And what about a bar?”

You decide it should be okay for Koyomi to pick up Saori’s book. The fan comic and independent comic trade of doujinshi probably fascinates your baby sister, considering her own desire to be a comic artist it will probably be the venue she first cuts her professional teeth on. She looks at the cover curiously and while glancing between you and Saori in conversation before cracking the first page open, careful not to open so wide as to bend the binding.

“Its how THEY get you,” Saori emphasizes first to your sister and then back to you, “you know, drugs guys. With the drugs...and dealing them. And getting you hooked...because this stuff is probably super addictive or something,”

The dark haired girl nods to her own explanation firmly as you nervously glance over to your sister to explain yourself for her own question over your whereabouts.

“Uh yeah, and I went out to a music club with friends tonight,” you explain and wave it off like no big deal as she glances up from the book and scrutinizes you and your present appearance, “There was a bar upstairs and I listened to some local bands,”

Koyomi glances at you, and seems to take in your current outfit for a moment.

“You were out with your ganguro friends?” She queries, dubiously and no doubt thinking about how you got drunk at Usa-nee’s send off party.

“Yeah, but I didn’t meet up with them until late into the show,” you rub the back of your neck.

“It was a really good show,” Saori nods firmly and seriously before her narrow shoulders suddenly slump along with her face, “but I didn’t get to talk to the Red Eyed Beast at all because Mor-”

She pauses mid sentence and practices it quietly first before continuing with a smug grin.
>>
>>46602053
“-because Midori-chan,” she snickers, “got me a few drinks and chatted with me like we were friends which is super cool now I guess,”

“Oh,” your little sister retreats behind the raised book a bit while still eyeing the both of you suspiciously before returning her attention to the book and turning the page...before her eyes shoot wide and she glances back to Saori with a shocked expression, “Uh, I don’t think I got your name,”

“Oh,” she perks up and turns to face your sister and squares her shoulders back upright before adopting a bit of a faux demure full of herself Oujo-sama pose, “I’m your sister’s FRIEND, Saori Umeki!”

“Uh huh…” she glances back to you questioningly, to which you nod in mild defeat, “So, uh, Umeki-san, what’s this book?”

“Oh, your sister lent me some comics and I wanted to let her borrow some of mine I thought she might like in return, fufufu,” she boasts, “Its a rarely circulated and valuable collected volume that I have a few copies of,”

Your sister pauses, and turns the page with a nod.

“Well, okay then,”

“Saori,” you draw her attention back with a sharp call of her name, “Thank you for bringing this to me, I’ll get it to Captain Osaka and make sure this gets taken care of,”

Your explanation seems to surprise her.

“Hmm? You’re taking it to Os- Kairi-chan’s mom?” she wonders, “Aren’t you going to do something else or get mixed up in shenanigans I can help with?”

You glare at her.

“...right, okay, never mind,” she sighs in slight disappointment, “I just kind of assumed you’d do something because-”
>>
>>46602082

“I’m not a witch,” you maintain while glancing back at your sister as she seems to hide behind the volume, absorbed by whatever content lies within while her hands are splayed across part of the cover so all you can make out is the Katakana spelling out ‘Maiden’, “and thanks for the comic, once Koyomi-chan is done I’ll give it a read,”

“Ah, right,” she nods in consensus and winks at you before scritching Diana beneath her chin, “Not a witch, and this kitten isn’t your familiar, right Diana?”

Diana merely purrs and nods in response because she isn’t a familiar. Wait.

Satisfied with herself, Saori shoulders her bag and takes out her phone, it’s screen lighting up with being turned on. You surmise she had it off at the show.

“Awesome!” She exclaims, “I’ll see you at school then, or at Akiyama’s studio,” she grouses, “I should probably get-”

“You have fifty two messages from ‘mom’,” her phone chimes, and she gulps suddenly crestfallen.

“-home,”

Bidding your, perhaps weirdest, friend goodnight, you close the front door behind her and slump against the door. Your guardian cat pads up to your and nuzzles you as you suddenly and tiredly slump against the floor.

“I like her,” Diana observes, “She gives good scritches,”

“I’m sure she does, Diana-chan,” you say tiredly and run your hand along the top of her head and pick her up as you head back into the kitchen to see your sister standing nearly rigid and holding the doujin volume close to her face and wide.

I'll have to go check the archives, but I'm pretty sure somebody (Koito?) mentioned Koyomi behaving out of character in her classes recently. Let's not push too hard, though. It's late, both Mikage and Koyomi need sleep, and I don't think Mikage actually has reason to be suspicious or concerned yet. Just curious. We should trust Koyomi's opinion of her own condition. For now.

Nothing makes you age quicker than having your innocence shattered by finding masturbatory toys.
>>
You set Diana down as you pass the stairs, promising you’ll be up shortly and that she should get comfortable on your pillow, before turning your attention curiously back to your sister in the kitchen. At your urging, the purple gray kitten complies with a mewl and hopes her way quickly to the second floor.

Thanks to Kairi-chan’s earlier descriptions of things, you imagine the comic that Saori would share with you in trade for your own books won’t be entirely innocent in content, but if your little sister can be Sailor New Moon then she can handle a little bit of lewd comic.

Or, given how rigid and carefully she seems to be reading, react hilariously.

“So,” you ask with a little bit of curious mirth to her reaction, “How is it?”

She jolts beneath your question. On closer inspection to the cover you note it’s the second volume of the book she lent you just this morning.

“Er, a bit disjointed without the first part,” she explains with a blush on her features, “but the arts really...vivid and cute and…”

You glance around the corner of the page.

“A bit graphic,” you observe with a blush of your own as...wait, what is this? Magical Girls and...excessive lewd things and parts and you’re pretty sure there is some kinda trap thing going on with this page as you lean back and glance over at the cover, “Maiden White?”

You’ve heard about this...just what did Saori leave you and what preconceptions does she have about your former life. You’re debating not reading this until you notice exactly how many traps seem to be in the scene you just saw over your sister’s shoulder…

Clever Saori, there’s BL and Yuri in this. You can’t not read it now. With a sigh, you sit back down at the kitchen table and act nonchalantly.

“Koyomi, don’t let that ruin you or give you any weird ideas about anything,” you explain, “It’s just a smutty doujinshi,”
>>
>>46603533

“Ah, okay Mikage-nee,” she says in embarrassment as she sets the book down, her thumb still marking a spot between pages as she sits in response to your conversational tone, “Why does your friend think you’re a witch?”

“Because despite seeming like a complete nut,” you sigh, “She’s pretty damn perceptive and hounding when she gets her teeth into something she wants to know about. I mean, she isn’t far off, right?”

“I guess not,” she nods, and you decide to change topics a bit abruptly.

“So, how are things going with you and Koito? Back to school in the wake of your nice date?” You query with sly and knowing big sisterly smile before your expression shifts a bit, “Seriously, don’t let that book give you weird ideas about how things work or fit between people,”

“Mikage-nee,” she whines at your harping on the book with a puff of her cheeks in a huff, “I have the internet and I like manga, not like I haven’t looked at stuff before,”

And in slight surprise, you stare at her.

“For reference,” she quickly covers.

“Sure,” you chuckle before reaching over to use your neesan powers to ruffle her hair, “So, you and Koito?”

“We’re fine,” she protests beneath your ministrations before ducking out of your immediate reach, “I’ve just been being a butt about things,”

“Hmm?”

“All that weird distracted doubt I mean...it’s Koito and I’ve had this crush on him for so long,” she cuts you off with a glare as you were absentmindedly about to make a remark about her tendency to crush on cute or handsome guys, “Any doubt like that is just me trying to undermine myself, and he gave me a pretty good reason why I should trust him and maybe us going forward,”

“And what’s that?” you ask in sheepish unspoken apology as her expression toward you softens.
>>
>>46603559
“He told me about your offer on the roof,” she says at first quietly, “How he wants to help us...and told me about what you could give him to do so. If I said I was against that, him putting himself in danger like that I’d be a real hypocrite for bringing Kanari-chan into this magical world…”

She sighs and lays her head on the table.

“I understood his feelings. I understood that he can’t help himself when people he cares about are in the thick of this danger that he can’t do anything about...and it’s kind of sweet to think that Koito could be my own knight in shining armor,” she pauses in thought at that, eyes glancing up in labored thought about how your appointed Knights are clad, “Well, knight in shiny sequins,”

“So, the two of you are good,” you sigh with some relief, having been curious how things had gone after you left Koito Kino on that rooftop with your offer.

You were quite curious whether he needed to talk to his sister, or your own.

“So, did this little emotional scene end with my baby sister’s first kiss?” you question in mock shock.

“Nee-san,” she whines in a quite familiar tone, “Don’t you dare think of trying to embarrass me!”

Sharing a laugh and a hug with your sister, both of your skip off to your respective rooms. When in its safety you find Diana asleep on your pillow. With a soft smile, you switch into your comfy pajamas and join your guardian space cat in bed. Cuddling the sleeping pet close for comfort and stability after sparing a glance at the bare section of wall where you normally keep your dream catcher.

Since Usa’s departure, you’ve kept it down.

Sitting up and sliding your covers aside, taking a moment to scratch beneath the stretching kitten’s chin as she mews awake, you set to action like it were any other day. Immediately you slip into your athletics shorts and windbreaker and set out for a jog followed by your isometrics routine. This morning, already on the edge of adrenaline for your impending espionage, you push yourself hard.

You push yourself in speed and hold your exercises in turn until you burn further than you usually hold for. It’s a good feeling, to sweat that hard considering what lies ahead, and your blistering hot habitual shower in turn soothes these ill effects and primes you to face the day ahead.

You’re surprised to again find your sister awake, early for her own habits, when you come downstairs dressed from your shower in your normal clothes as you intend to magically ensorcell yourself into the guise of the Beast on your way to the impending rendezvous. This morning, Koyomi saw you working hard so she made a far more traditional breakfast than you tend to make, with miso soup, rice, and small broiled fish.

While it isn’t the protein or carb sink you’ve tended toward recently, you appreciate the meal and thank her for it all the same.

Its nice, spending time with Koyomi like this. It makes you feel normal.

Today isn’t a day for normal.

After breakfast, it’s still early for everyone else you imagine, so you boot up your phone and run down the contact list of everyone involved in today’s efforts.

The Sailor Quartet, Jadeite Knight, Sailor Sol, Nephrite Knight, and Sasha. You manage affirmatives back from most of them, Sailor Juno adding to her notation of being on the move that Sailor Pallas is with her but not yet entirely awake.

You understand that, Palla for all her hidden depths, still conducts herself with a certain childlike innocence despite being older than you.

Bidding your sister good bye, and with Diana hopping on your shoulder as you go, you break out toward the city and where you’re expected.

Just what awaits you, in this secret meeting with Kalunite’s masters? What things will you learn of your enemy? What things will you learn about what you’ve become?

It fills you with unease and resolve, though you have yet to adopt the guise you will be pursuing those answers with…

Alright. I have a busy morning of errands and personal business to attend before we resume this in the late afternoon.

Just keep us alive, alright Anons?

Before we Conceal Thoughts, I'd like to stop in on Aiha before she heads off the school and we off to the mission. Thank her for things and let her know that Red is back home. Among the thanking is for for that call for help to the Beast that finally dragged us back into life.
Tease with that we had only said that Eclipse was not one of our personality fragments when she asked before, and that we'd originally planned on telling her that night- part of why Red Eye's was hurt by your ploy at the time.

Basically a small but important side trip and then all the young senshi know, except for Kanari who suspects it so hard it frustrates us.

She suspects so hard. This will be a big thing with her when she finds out the others all but know.

Eclipsed Moon Quest Episode 126
RESUME

Closing the door behind you, your guardian cat on your shoulder bristling with the same resolve that you are, you turn to face the suburban spread of this section of the Minato Ward before you. Home, this area in the just past dawn moments is where you've loved your whole life. You'll protect it, and this earth that it and yourself are ultimately a part of.

"Ready to go, Diana?" you ask of the minuscule cat hanging from your shoulder.

"Ready!" she intones seriously whilst adjusting her grip on your light jacket.

Beginning the long trek to the agreed upon rendezvous with first your allies and then the representatives of the enemy, you pause for a moment.

>you have time, you need to talk to someone in Juuban first. One of the young Senshi or someone else?
>might as we'll be early and meet up with the others for this plan
>actually, you want to stop to grab a pastry. While Koyomi made a big breakfast portion you're still hungry

Let's see, Koyomi has took a portion of our cooking ability and part of our ability to wake up earlier than her and mom and we got some of her appetite? That's not a fair trade at all.

You make good time across the city, lost in your own thoughts and preparatory mindset regarding today’s mission. As far as PIT cooperation goes this mission is off the books because of your concern that they’ve been compromised by Ellis Unlimited. Perhaps in this investigation you’ll learn the truth of their involvement in things.

Drifting back to your encounter with their CEO a few nights back gives you pause as you board a cross district train. Its up in the air whether they are complicit with the actions of whoever controls the Neo Shintennou raised from the dead, or if they’re victims of those forces. Jonathan Ward Chau...who was he? Why did he have a crystallized fragment of Chaos in a research station.

Disembarking the lightly traveled weekend morning train, you make your way first to an agreed upon alleyway a few blocks south of the venue from last night.

To your surprise you aren’t the first there.

Waiting while leaning against the familiar Ural Sportsman, standing naturally upright without a kickstand thanks to the sidecar, is the short and riding jacket clad boxer who you’ve befriended.

“Hey Sasha,” Diana chimes within the cover of the alley.

“Hey,” he offers the kitten awkwardly, still unsure about how to cope with the existence of a talking cat, as she leaps down into the sidecar of the bike and he subsequently turns his attention up to you, “Hey, Mikage, nice fight last night,”

“Yeah,” you offer perhaps a bit nervous and self conscious for some reason, “It was a pretty good fight,”

>Be super awkward right now because of last night...

It was a pretty good fight…although...

“Actually, any feedback on it?” You question and lean against the wall opposite of him, “The fight I mean,”

You feel a brief well of concern and awkwardness which you quash; harkening back to your kiss with Yoshi in the dark last night after the fight as Red Eyes returned to the whole that is you. Her earlier warning about her own feelings and your feelings resonating with a momentary sigh. It was a hard fight, you hadn’t expected that woman to hit quite that hard right out of the gate.

“It was fast,” he reasons after a moment of reflection, “About as fast as our fight...but to the outright finish. She changed her forms and techniques frequently,”

He muses a moment and picks up his helmet, glaring into his reflection in the visor before looking over to you and tossing it over.

“Her eyes were like your’s,” he explains as you look down into the helmet like he had, “not like now or even during your fight with her...like when we fought and before you left the first night we met,”

“Crazed?” You offer, carefully.

“And driven,” he nods firmly, “She was exulting in it. Honestly I wouldn’t mind a few rounds with her,”

He pauses and blushes before crossing his arms and looking away and clicking his tongue while you snicker at his assessment of the famed former delinquent nicknamed Winter Wolf.

“You know what I mean,” he grouses.

“Sure, sure,” you sigh and hand the helmet back out to him, “She was driven, and yeah it was on the same level as fighting you,”

You talk a bit longer about that woman’s style until Midori, Kairi, and Keiko arrive together.

“Good morning,” Keiko chirps and slides her sunglasses up into her bangs, “Who's ready for a glorious and sunny day?”

>You want to talk to everyone about something first, what?

Start with a quick check-in, make sure everyone's ready. One last explanation of the current plan, and contingencies for when (not if) things go wrong. That sort of thing.

Then explain about the vial of Chaos we received from Saori last night, and ask if any of them have news or suspicions of their own.

Our OpSec used to feel pretty tight, though the size of this operation has me nervous.
One reassuring thought is that somehow even Usagi maintained relative security, and I have more confidence in our team here than here when it comes to being circumspect.

“Alright, everyone, suit up,” you command and clad yourself with the disguise pen into the more commonly recognizable blue middle school uniform of Juuban West within a sparkling sweep of shadows.

Baring their items of power forward, Kairi and Midori are both consumed in red and green black illusory fire as their forms are clad in their uniforms off office as Nephrite Knight and Jadeite Knight.

“Sol Power, MAKE UP!” Cries Keiko as she she brandishes her wand and is wrapped in whirling solar flame and celestial color.

Sasha puts on his helmet, then raises the face plate attached to the visor.

“Alright everyone,” you begin in your own cadence, noticeably not the Beast’s, “Are all of you ready to go?”

“As if we’d be here if we weren’t, Princess,” Midori haughtily scoffs at the thought of not being ready, taking great pride in herself and task as your Knight Marshall.

“I went right to sleep last night when I got home to make sure I’d be at my best,” Kairi boasts beneath her red mask with an eager smile, it’s good to see her in such a good mood even on the precipice of dangerous action.

“Please, I woke up ready to go,” Keiko shines in the shadows of the alleyway.

“Bike’s gassed up,” Sasha shrugs.

Alright. You take a deep breath, as you launch into an explanation and pep talk.

“Then let’s recap the plan,” you explain and the lot of you go back over everything discussed the last night. Everyone recites their point in the procedure, noting that if they outright lose Kairi’s divination upon you that they’ll attack the last place they could see you in full force.

You fill them in on what Saori found last night, what this might mean in the long term if pieces of Chaos and unexpectedly super powered psychics just roaming the streets could mean as part of enemy plans. Sasha, to your surprise offers an opinion about it.

“They’re sleepers,” he posits, “Monsters waiting to happen and seeded throughout the city. If the stuff is addictive, think of it like stockpiling weapons in the middle of the city they want to conquer,”

That doesn’t sit well with you.

“Alright,” you offer at first solemnly and then build in tempo and resolve, “We know what we’re up against, we know the enemy is stepping up their game...but that’s why we’ve come together like this. Knowing what they could do and what they’re willing to do to people, we’ll stop them. And doing so at the source starts here,”

And it begins. You entirely shut down your cell phone and remove the battery.

Confirmation check ins with the Sailor Quartet are run by Midori. You head out of the alleyway first as your Jadeite Knight and Sailor Sol leap from wall to wall to the rooftops above. Nephrite Knight steps into the sidecar as Sasha passes her a helmet and Diana hops into her arms.

You step out in the street with all the pissed occasion you can muster as you adopt the mannerisms that now come naturally to your act as the Red Eyed Beast. In two blocks you find a limo waiting for you outside the music venue, already in preparation for tonight’s show.

By the door is a man with a suit and earpiece. He’s tall and bald, likely hired security of some kind, he opens the limo door at your approach and gestures within.

Pooling your magical energy, you construct your usual psychic shield before turning up to the tall and bald hired guard. No one observing you could notice your magical power right now, though you make sure not to activate your power to foil divination. If you used that power Kairi would lose you in following.

“Where is Kalunite?” you ask after glancing into the limousine and finding your expected mark absent.

“Mr Kalunite will be joining us at the destination,” the large man says, confirming that he knows him as Kalunite and not Kal Unite.

He probably has some psychic powers as well. You’ll have to be braced for it if things turn south.

Well, no time like the present. You don’t like not knowing where he is...but you wouldn’t know where the other three of his order are anyhow. Sitting down inside, the guard goes to sit in the front cabin of the vehicle leaving you alone in the plush leather interior of the back of the car.

At this point of the operation, alone in the large back space of a limousine, you are at what you think is your most vulnerable. Relying on your allies to keep pace and follow as the car pulls away into the street. Traffic and buildings pass by the tinted windows at the drawl of urban speed while you sit and watch.

The drive is long, many perhaps unnecessary turns as they wind their way through the city toward an uncertain destination.

You watch them, but do nothing else. This is a show of good faith on your part, though you worry if you’ve erred in doing that. Sitting with these thoughts at least an hour passes before the drive comes to an end. Stopping in front of a nondescript office building, closer to the Chiba Prefecture border you think.

It’s being renovated, that much is obvious as you’re lead through the scaffolding framed door.

Unfinished walls and metal frames scour what you imagine is meant to be a lobby as you are directed toward a concrete block stairwell to one of the upper floors. Rising to the next floor up, you pause and take in who is waiting for you among the unfinished office floor. Hanging plastic tarps, short painters scaffolding, unfinished drywall, and unplaced components for drop ceilings litter the place.

There, among the clutter, stands Kalunite and the hulking blue man in the lab coat you encountered atop Tokyo Tower. The lazy and tired looking would be talent agent yawns while granting you a welcoming wave. His hued associate bristles at the sight of you, but seems to hold his tongue despite a certain sneer.

Between them is a high backed office chair, with a kick it spins around to reveal a man with a relaxed posture and a familiar black lacquered suit...though his hood is down.

Before you, flanked by imposing foes, is the man you’ve heard called Hiddenite. His stern and aged face exposed, the upper right a network of circuitous marking engraved upon long healed burn scars.

“So, you are the fabled Red Eyed Beast,” he states, with an almost mechanical tone as he rises from the chair likely meant for the yet assembled manager’s office of this floor.

Hey, if we are close enough, CQC could apply to a ranged roll. So we've got a bit of a point blank bump there, and most real ranged work we'll want them flatfooted anyway, maybe we don't need to spend as much to stay competitive if that is the case. Some more ranks would be nice though.
