Jedi Padawan Quest 001

You've been a student at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant since you were very, very young. Longer than you can remember; you can't recall what either of your parents looked like. But you're not bitter. You've been raised well by the Jedi at the Temple.
Now you're nearly thirteen years old, and your first step towards Jedi Knighthood will come soon. Soon you'll have to participate in your Initiate trials, and from there a Knight or Master will take you on as a Padawan learner.
You're not particularly worried about passing the Initiate trials. You've been trained well. Your only real worry is who you'll be apprenticed to. You know that the judgment of the Council will be wise, but you haven't been able to stop yourself from wondering who, exactly, will be your mentor.
These thoughts have been clouding your mind lately. You sit in quiet meditation, attempting to clear your mind.
As you get deeper into meditation, you take some time to reflect on yourself. You are a...

>Pick a name.
Rules:
Dice rolls will always be the best of 3 rolls, and will almost always be a d20 roll.
The most popular choice after 15 minutes will be used.
If 15 minutes pass and no one has voted, I will bump the thread.
I will only bump once per thread.
If votes are tied between two opposing choices at 15 minutes, an additional 10 minutes will be allowed for voting.
If votes are still tied after the additional 10 minutes, the decision goes to coin toss.

Race chosen: Nautolan.
As you relax deeper, you feel the tentacles atop your head rest down against your shoulders. They're still not very long -- you're not an adult yet -- but recently they've gotten long enough to brush up against your back. It's a new sensation that you're still getting used to.

You breathe deeply, focusing on the Jedi code, repeating it as a mantra as your worries escape you.
"Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony. Death, yet the Force."
Deep in meditation, you almost don't notice a knock on the door to your room. "Come in," you say. The door opens to reveal Grandmaster Chuang, the head of the order. Chuang is an elderly human male who carries a staff to aid him in walking. At his age, representing the order as a diplomat is no longer a real option, so he provides guidance to the pupils at the Temple. He's been your teacher since you were a child.
"I see you have been practicing well," Chuang says, smiling. "Do you know why I am here, youngling?"
"No, Master."
"It is time for your Initiate trials. Come along, youngling, and we will go to the council chamber to perform the trials."
You stand up, excited. You knew that the trials would be coming soon, but you had no idea exactly when.
"Before we go, though, tell me how you think you'll do during the trials," Chuang says.

>"The trials will be easy."
>"However the Force wills me to do."

"However the Force wills me to do," you say. "I'm not worried." Grandmaster Chuang smiles.
"The Force will guide you, youngling," he says, "As it guides us all. The difficulty lies in understanding the will of the Force. Come, walk with me."
He slowly begins walking toward the council chamber, his staff lightly touching the ground with each step. You follow alongside him.
"Even for you, Master Chuang?" You ask. His pace is slightly slower than your natural pace, so you do your best to stay with him.
"At times, youngling," he says. The two of you continue walking for a short while, and you almost don't think he's going to elaborate. "There are times when the Force wills things which seem contrary to our common sense and rationality. In time, you learn to see beyond the rational and instead embrace your instincts, but it is a lifelong struggle."
By the time he's finished his short speech, you find yourself inside of the council chamber. It's a large, circular room, with chairs which look like hollowed eggs set up around the circumference, so that each of the members of the council can face each other during discussion. Grandmaster Chuang takes a seat in one of the chairs. You look around you.
Master K'ungfu sits to the left of Grandmaster Chuang. He's a tall and strong looking Zabrak with three lightsabers at his belt. To his left is Master Pazdan, a Twi'lek woman who is known as a great sage. To Grandmaster Chuang's right is Master Mutaito, a Nautolan like yourself, and the youngest on the council. To Mutaito's right is another human, a woman with darker skin, called Master Burus; she's the temple's battlemaster.
"Taleep Mortune," Master K'ungfu says. "Today we test your self-defense, your understanding of the Jedi code, and your strength with the Force. Are you ready?"

"I'm ready."
"The first trial," Master Pazdan says, "Is the trial of knowledge. What does emotion, yet peace mean?"
"That we shouldn't allow our emotions to cloud our judgment."
"Ignorance, yet knowledge?"
"That each instance of ignorance is only an opportunity to learn something new."
"Passion, yet serenity?"
"That passion can motivate, but we must be weary to not let it overwhelm us."
"Chaos, yet harmony?"
"That all things are in harmony and natural, even when they don't appear to be."
"Death, yet the Force?"
"That death is another part of life, and we all truly live on through the living Force."
"And do you agree with the Jedi code?"

>"The code is just a limitation of a Jedi's power."

"I.. Think so. But no single code can account for everything in the galaxy. It is not an absolute. Or rather you shouldn't follow a code absolutely.. I think. I am sorry masters, I am not explaining myself correctly."
The Twi'lek Jedi Master looks at you stoically. "I see, youngling. There is no need to explain further. Your first trial is complete. Grandmaster Chuang?"
"It's a point of view not often felt by one your age, but is accepted by some on the council. Be careful, though, not to stray so far from the code that you embrace the dark side. Your second trial is the trial of the Force. Show us, youngling, that you can feel and use the Force."
Three objects float out of Chuang's sleeve: a rock, a leaf, and a slightly torn piece of cloth.
"I give you options, but you must choose the one that you believe will most demonstrate your understanding of the Force."

>Use the Force to make the leaf float.

Seems like the others are semi-traps. Absolute power and an attachment to something. Also throwing rocks about with telekinesis is cool

Force healing is a thing. I don't see why a mending which works on a body can't work on cloth, especially given all the metaphysical oneness stuff in the Star Wars universe.
>>
>>46548950
so would force repair be a thing?
>>
>>46548924
Well, you couple manipulate the threads to weave it. It's maybe coarse sackcloth rather than machine milled cloth.
It's the hardest though most likely, so it might not be a guaranteed win.

Think we're overlooking something. We weren't given three options, just three objects.
Or maybe I'm over thinking something and looking for stuff to do with the air or the council members.
I'm trusting my instincts

You reach out with the Force. You feel it like water, as if it were a river running through all things while at the same time being part of all things, even more a fundamental aspect of these objects than the matter which they are composed of.
This isn't a difficult task. The leaf floats up into the air slowly. You decide to make the leaf move, floating through the air as if there were a light wind in the room, floating along with the natural flow of the Force.
But the motion of the Force is hard for you to grasp at your age.

Using the Force with moderate ease, you allow the leaf to float through the room. It floats past each of the Jedi Masters and circles around you once, doing small twists and turns along the way before it falls in the spot on the ground that it came from.
Grandmaster Chuang nods his head in approval. "Ah, I see. Yours was the balanced choice, seeking to neither heal nor harm. And your execution of the task was excellent."
The three objects float back into the air and touch down on Chuang's lap. "Master Burus will deliver your third and final trial."
Master Burus stands up. She's about six feet tall -- at least a foot taller than you are right now. She doesn't look particularly strong or threatening, but she carries herself with pride, and you can sense her power.
"Your name is Taleep, right?" She asks with a bored tone.
"Yes, Master Burus," you respond.
"What form of lightsaber combat, besides the first, did you study?"

>"I specialized in the first form only. Strong roots make strong branches."
>"I studied the second form. It seems to be the most effective against other lightsabers."
>"I studied the third form. The best offense is a strong defense."

Note: Since you're still young, these are the only forms that you've had any chance to study. Different and more specialized forms of combat exist, but they're reserved for Padawans, and in some cases, only Jedi Masters.

"A Soresu specialist?" She scratches the back of her head. "Alright. Come with me." She begins walking out of the council chamber, and you follow her. As the two of you walk, she talks.
"I'm not a time waster. The third trial is self-discipline demonstrated through lightsaber combat. We're going to the courtyard. The other Masters will watch from the council chamber. Need me to repeat anything?"
"No, Master, I understand."
"Good. We'll be using training sabers so that no one actually gets hurt, but you're expected to think of it in the same way you would a life-or-death saber match."
The two of you quickly find yourselves in a large courtyard. Coruscant's sun is high in the sky; it's about noon, so the sun won't get in your eyes.
"Now," she says, reaching over to a weapons rack, "What's your tool of choice?"

>A standard lightsaber. It's balanced.

"I'll take a standard lightsaber," you say. Master Burus gives you a quizzical look at first, but that quickly fades.
"Usually younglings go for something a bit more flashy," she says, taking a standard lightsaber off of the rack and tossing it to you. "But the standard blade is a good choice." She grabs herself a lightsaber pike as the training saber lands in your hand.
It ignites and you adjust the blade to your height. Suddenly and without warning, you hear a blaster shot fire. Out of instinct, you raise your lightsaber up in an upwards parrying position, the blaster bolt jumping from your blade and flying off into the sky before disappearing from view.
"Hey!" You call out, looking over at Master Burus, who has just dropped a small blaster and is rapidly advancing towards you with the ignited lightsaber pike.
Already in a parrying position, you deflect her forward thrust to the side, and respond by...

Remembering your training, you move back to a fortified defensive position, now holding a low guard. Master Burus attacks from several angles, but you're able to parry her strikes. She still looks completely at ease, but blocking her strikes is causing you to become tired. Your reaction time is fading fast. Burus sees this. Between attacks, she says:
"The weakness of Soresu is that it has no offensive capabilities whatsoever. That's why you learn Shii-Cho first."
A flurry of strikes comes from her, but the lightsaber pike is so large that you can still see the strikes coming and can still parry. But you're feeling weak. As your blades clash, her lightsaber gets close to your skin. The blade is hot, far hotter than your training blade. Then it hits you that she isn't using a training saber. Master Burus surely wouldn't try to kill you -- but if you have one misstep, you could be seriously injured.

Not unfocussed. Just nothing to do with Soresu or Shii-Cho.
It's simple; she's using a pike, you have a sword. Get too close for her weapon to be ideal. You don't need a guidebook and a master to teach you a thousand year refined technique of moving forward. And she knows those techniques too.

How's the phrase go?
>The opponent a master hates facing the most is a complete novice, because the master cannot predict what they will do.
Something like that anyway.
>>
>>46551368
And what stops her from backing up a shit ton? Since we're only thirteen and they're a Jedi Master, how are we gonna keep close once we've closed the distance? Do we really only need to be close for a mere moment?
>>
Use the Superior half sabering technique
>>
>>46551182

This seems to be the most popular general idea right now.
You feel the flow of the Force in her onslaught. As it continues, you see similarities in her method of attack. Slowing down, you relax more as you deflect hits. Time seems to slow down slightly.
An opening. Another opening. She's doing it on purpose. She's not trying to kill you. She wants you to be able to pass the trial. Or maybe she's baiting you into going out of your comfort zone. Maybe. But you can hear the call of the Force. It's time to stop playing defensively and move beyond your training and your rationality, instead focusing on your feelings and instincts -- focusing on the will of the Force.

Our master said as much. The flaw in Soresu is that it doesn't have any offensive techniques. All we're doing is exhausting ourselves.

That's it! You feel the rush of the living Force. It guides you, and it's telling you to strike out. After parrying one more slash, you advance forward quickly and attempt to make a straight lunge with the lightsaber. This has to work, it's the only thing that makes sense.

But it doesn't.
Master Burus stands to the side of your attack and has your hand held with one hand. With a small contortion of her wrist, you feel your palm naturally open, the lightsaber switching off and falling to the ground.
"Good effort," Master Burus says. She turns off the lightsaber pike and lets go of your hand. "Sometimes getting into the flow of combat works like that, kiddo, but you're too far outmatched. If this were a real bout, you'd be dead."

"Master Burus," you say, "Your blaster surprised me, and your disarming technique caught me completely off-guard. Please teach me to employ those kinds of techniques, or at least better defend against them."
Master Burus leans against her lightsaber pike, now firmly planted in the ground. "You're alright, youngling," she says. As the rush of energy from combat leaves her, her voice goes back to that dull, bored tone. "I'll be here at the temple whenever you want to learn. But you should listen to your own Master, too."
"But Master Burus, I don't have a Master."
"As far as I'm concerned, you passed your test." She scratches the back of her head. "Actually, the only test you were supposed to pass as a Soresu specialist was to deflect that blaster bolt. I just did the rest for fun."

Burus laughs and picks up the lightsaber pike, tossing it over to the weapons rack. "Me? I'm on the council."
"It's not unheard of for councillors to take on apprentices."
She lets out a sigh. "Well... I'll mention it to the council, but no promises."

Sparring with Master Burus took a lot out of you. Groggily, you walk into the cafeteria.
The Jedi cafeteria, fitting with the Jedi philosophy, doesn't serve many different kinds of food. There's not a wide range of flavors presented in the cafeteria. That's one of the big benefits of becoming a Padawan: exploring the universe and getting to eat food with real flavor.
"What's on the menu today, Master Gordonis?" You ask, standing at the food bar. There's no line. Master Gordonis is a Jedi Knight, but he serves the Temple by acting as head chef. He leans up against the counter. Gordonis is a Twi'lek man who's just past his prime.
"Nerf steak with a side of mixed vegetables and some milk," he says. "Oh, and I heard about you taking the Initiate trials. Between you and me, I'll throw in a bit of Bantha jerky for you to snack on later."
"Thanks, Master Gordonis!" You say, trying to mask your distaste for Nerf meat. He throws the food onto a tray and you go to sit down.

You've got a couple of choices of where to sit. Your friends Zaric and Melissandre, two humans at your age, are sitting and talking. Zaric is blond and is a little moody at times, but he's got your back when you need him. Mellisandre has black hair and is a great joker, but sometimes she takes jokes too far. You also see a thin Nautolan you haven't met before who looks like he's being bullied by a stronger looking youngling.

You walk over and set down your tray across the table from the Nautolan. As you get closer, you can tell that it's a girl, probably a year younger than you. The stronger looking pupil is a Zabrak, male, and is slightly bigger than you as well.
"I'm telling you to get out of that seat before I force you out of it!" He hisses at her. You stand up next to him.
"What's this? You're bringing in more of your kind to take up my table?"
"I don't know her," you say, "But you're out of line."
"Shut up!" He responds, slamming his fist on the table and turning to you. The young Nautolan girl is visibly shaken. Being around irrationally angry people isn't common for a Jedi youngling.

"Peace is not cowardly, needlessly attacking people weaker than you, however, is."
The Zabrak seems a bit taken back by what you say, but he doesn't pursue it. It seems like he learned his lesson. Lucky for you, you might not be able to handle another fight today.
"Hi, my name's Taleep Mortune. What's yours?" You ask the girl while walking to the table.
"I-I'm Tess Starshine." She still seems a little nervous.
"Have you been here for long?"
"What? Y-yes. No. I mean, I was at a different Temple, but they just transferred me here."
You'd heard rumors that smaller Jedi Temples around the galaxy were reallocating members to the Coruscant Temple and closing down. With the galaxy at relative peace -- the only major threats being Mandalorian raiders and the Hutt cartels -- it was only logical to bring the Order back together.
"Where are you from?" You ask her, still giving a reassuring smile.
"Glee Anselm," she says. Glee Anselm is the home planet of the Nautolans. You can't remember what it was like.
"I didn't even know there was a Temple there," you say, taking a seat by your friends. "Hey guys, this is Tess. She just came from a Temple on Glee Anselm."
"Must've been nice," Zaric says. "Coruscant is a bore. And the food is... well..." he prods his Nerf steak with a fork. "Not so good."
"What he means to say is, welcome to the Temple!" Mellisandre says. "Don't mind Zaric. He's just whiny. My name's Mellisandre, and someday I'll be the Grandmaster here on Coruscant!" She takes a huge bite of her Nerf steak, not bothering to cut it first. "Stick with me and you're bound to succeed!" She says through a mouthful of Nerf meat.
"O-oh, um, hello," Tess says.

"You'll have to master table manners before you're Grandmaster of anything, Mellisandre," you say.
Zaric chuckles and Tess takes small bites of her food. You start digging in, too. After your trials, even the Nerf steak tastes great.
"Well, when I'm Grandmaster, I won't have stupid rules about eating!" Mellisandre says, taking another bite of her steak. "Anyway, what'd I hear about you passing your trials?"
"Huh? You're a Jedi Knight now?" Zaric asks, only taking minor interest in the conversation.
"No, you idiot," Mellisandre says. "Not his Knight trials, his Initiate trials. Try staying awake during training once in a while."
"Oh, yeah. It wasn't as hard as you'd think. I almost did get skewered by Master Burus, though," you say.
"Bummer," Zaric says. "If you're going to go out training, you'll barely have time for us here at the Temple."
Zaric's statement leaves a somber mood over the table. Mellisandre doesn't say anything witty.

>"That's not true. I'll spend plenty of time here at the Temple."

"What? Me? I..." Tess stammers. "Um, thank you for including me in your group."
The four of you talk while eating. Mellisandre and Zaric finish faster than you or Tess, so they head out first. You figure that the council will want to speak to you soon, so you stand up.
"I think this is where we part ways for now," you say to Tess. "But I'm sure we'll run into each other soon."
"Um, alright. I was just finishing anyway," Tess says. She seems a lot more relaxed now. "Thank you for earlier. That was brave, I don't think I could've done it."
"Don't worry about it!" You say. "There aren't a lot of guys like that here at the Temple. If you run into someone like that again, come find me. I'll give them a stern talking to."

The two of you part ways and you go back to your room. But as you come close to the door, you sense that something is wrong. It's a powerful feeling deep in your gut. "I've got a bad feeling about this," you mutter under your breath. Shaking it off as a side effect of eating Nerf steak, you open the door.

As you open the door, you hear shuffling. You turn just in time to see the Zabrak boy leaping out at you.
He grabs onto the front of your tunic.
"Too many spectators there in the cafeteria, but now I can beat the tar out of you in private!" He says, pushing you down to the ground and focusing all of his weight down so he falls on top of you.
You remember your basic hand to hand training. As you fall down onto your back, you put the sole of your shoe up against his stomach and kick up, sending him flying over your head as you land comfortably on your back.
He promptly crashes into your wall.
"Beat the tar out of me, huh?" You say, standing up. You put up your fists. Lucky you ate something. Now you're full of energy.
He angrily gets up and wildly throws a punch, which you easily block. You respond with a palm strike to his solar plexus, knocking the wind out of him.
He coughs and falls to his knees in front of you.
"A-alright, alright," he manages to cough out between gasps for air. "I was wrong. You're stronger. Please stop."
You look around the room and notice that no one seems to have heard anything, or at least they're not coming to check on you. Suddenly you find yourself filled with hatred. This scumbag broke into your room and tried to attack you. He's the kind of guy who intimidates the defenseless. And he's at your mercy.

You quickly snap back. The rage that filled you disappears. For a second, you considered giving in to the Dark Side.
No. You're a Jedi. You've just completed your Initiate trials and you're about to be assigned a Master. Giving in to the Dark Side would be a terrible mistake.
"One of the members of the council should be here soon. So you're going to stay right there and wait," you say.
"Y-yes," the Zabrak says, backing up to a wall and catching his breath. "I'll answer for what I've done."
All of that bravado and cockiness disappeared the moment that he realized that he was far outmatched.

It doesn't take long before there's a knock on the door. "Come in," you say. Master K'ungfu walks into the room.

"An apparently wise choice," Master K'ungfu says. "But if he gets away with doing this, what prevents him from doing it again to someone else? Maybe someone who can't defend themselves so easily?"
"He is young and made a mistake. Others have gone much further and then gone on to do great things," you say.
"Maybe so. Youngling, what is your name?" Master K'ungfu asks the Zabrak boy.
"My name is P'riah Zark," the boy says. "I've learned my lesson, Master. Please don't ban me from the Temple."
"Hm." Master K'ungfu stands still for a moment, lost in thought. "Zark, a month of library duty should dull your anger. Remember this moment."
"Yes, Master K'ungfu." Zark bows to him. "Thank you for your leniency."
"Me? It was this Padawan here that saved your skin. Thank him."

You stand once again in the council chamber.
"We've reviewed your performance during your trials," Master Chuang says after a moment of you standing there in silence. "Your understanding of the Jedi code is uncommon, but acceptable. You show great potential in using the Force. Your skills in combat are slightly higher than average."
"In addition," Master K'ungfu adds, "You have shown character in dealing with that other pupil."
"By the authority of this council, you will be paired with a Jedi to nurture and guide you along your path. Starting today, you are a Padawan of the Jedi Order," Master Chuang says. "I'd like to learn about the Force," you say. You've seen the things that Jedi Masters can do with the Force. It is a truly powerful ally, one with the ability to warp the world around you and defeat even great swordsmen.
"I see," Master Chuang says.
"Once you become a Knight, you'll have to perform certain services for the Temple and the greater Jedi Order. How do you think you would best serve?"
You stop to consider it. There are a lot of options available to you, and this is important in deciding who you'll learn under.
You have combat skill. You've also got interpersonal skill. But how to apply those to daily life within the Temple? Sure, there's gardening and grilling, but those are typically reserved for those who can't perform in other ways.

>Working within the Temple (teaching, library, working on science or philosophy, publishing books/articles/papers, etc.)
>Being sent on combat missions to uphold the values of both the Jedi and the Republic.
>Acting as a religious figure, joining the Temple's clerical ranks.
>Doing diplomatic work and being one of the voices of the Jedi Temple.

the Force damnit.

Its vastly more powerful than a meh skill with a lightsaber.

Mace windu kicked ass, and I never saw his black ass using the force
>>
>>46558044
>Working within the Temple (teaching, library, working on science or philosophy, publishing books/articles/papers, etc.)

Thus we can be totally safe from being caught up in immediate reaction to war. We can be calm and spend all our spare time getting more and more powerful and influence inside the guild.

Knowledge is power.
Also ask if you can be an explorer if it suits the research.
>>
>>46558044
I'd like
>Doing diplomatic work and being one of the voices of the Jedi Temple.

But
>Being sent on combat missions to uphold the values of both the Jedi and the Republic.
Is probably going to be far more interesting.

So since it's a big choice and I like the suggested idea, and some votes look like they're dead ends, I'll give you all 10 more minutes to decide between
>Diplomat who acts as the voice of the Temple, gaining political influence and guiding the course of history

Final vote 4 to 3, favoring Jedi-Jones.

"I'd like to work in exploration, excavation, archeology and archiving in order to preserve and learn from history," you say.
"That's an interesting choice, young Padawan," Grandmaster Chuang says. "Uncommon, but admirable."
"Given this information," Master Mutaito says, "It would be most advantageous for you to take up an apprenticeship under Master Connerian."
You're familiar with Master Connerian. He's a great adventurer and is skilled in the Force. His ancient weapons collection is the largest private collection in this sector of the galaxy. With that being said, he does have a reputation for living with his head in the clouds.
"However," Master Mutaito says, "We've also heard that you're interested in studying under a member of our council, Master Burus."
"The decision is yours to make," Master Burus says. "Frankly, I can only teach you so much about the Force. Personal study could take you far, but Master Connerian would be able to teach you about it much more quickly. And, of course, I won't take offense if you choose him over me."

>"I want to train under you, Master Burus."

And then, every time we return, or have free time, we visit Master Burus. She did say we could, after all. I really do like her already.

"I want to train under Master Connerian."
"Then it is done," Master K'ungfu says. "In the morning, you will meet with Master Connerian. He will begin your training. Rest tonight, young Padawan, and may the Force be with you."
"May the Force be with you," echoes the rest of the council.
"And also with you," you say with a bow. "Thank you."

-----------------------------------

Thus marks the beginning of Taleep Mortune's journey. The details of history are often lost between wars and political agendas. What remains is only fragmented knowledge, pieces of autobiographical holocrons and corrupted files detailing history and philosophy.
New data appears every day helping us piece together the forgotten Masters, Knights, and Padawans. As for today, our story must be left off with a footnote of "to be continued".

First quest thread I've ever been in. Really fun! Now, do I beef to actually have a twitter to get updates? I suppose I could make one. . .
>>
>>46558912

This is only the first thread. You've got plenty of opportunities to join the Dark Side in the future. What I CAN tell you is:
You would've gotten away with really fucking up P'riah Zark.
At least one of your friends may be easily influenced by the Dark Side.
This story takes place around the same general time as the first KOTOR game, though the events of the quest will probably never have anything to do with the events of KOTOR, specifically.
And I don't like planning things out very much. It's a lot more fun to wing it.
>>
>>46558972
I agree, planning stuff out too much makes it harder to bend when anons do something unexpected
>>
>>46558972
its probably that one chick, ambition like that tends to lead hard into the dark side.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I'm not sure about Twitter requirements. Generally I will post about an hour in advance before a quest starts and/or when I post the thread in /tg/. I also try to update after the quest finishes with a link to the archive. So it's the most convenient way to get info on the quest, unless you hang out on /tg/ all day anyway.

Definitely Tess. Let's just think about it for a second. The first time we see her? She afraid. Irrational anger scares her. The unknown scares her. She was fine with us, but who knows what will happen when we're not there. Who's to say her fear won't get the better of her.

Fear leads to anger. . .
