Sup fa/tg/uys. Really digging the whole civ culture /tg/ has over here.

So let's all laugh and point at this newfag civmaster as I try to learn how to do this.

We're doing Giant's, Standard medieval fantasy technology, and we're gonna wing it a bit.

First three votes determine location though. Pic related.

Let's get rolling!

Your name is Urrok, Chieftain of the Giant folk.

It has been many a long winter since your tribes exile, mighty chieftain. From the Frozen Halls of the High Father, Great God of all True Giants, you as the runt of the litter have led your people away from your Elder brothers, those who are of Fire, Ice, Storm, and Earth.

Where they specialize in the elements primordial, you and your people are one with the ways of mortals, and know the land fair. And in your long travels from the Frozen Halls, you have arrived at this fertile valley, with not much hardships. The Wooly Mammoths of the High Fathers herds, are but one of the few things you have to remind you of your homeland. Let us build a Hall to rival the High Father and more!

But Spring gives way to Summer, Fall, and Winter. You need food and sustenance to sustain such mighty folk. What will you do, mighty Chieftain?

A) Construct Homes. (Low Quality)
B) Scavenge for Food.
C) Scout the land. (Potential for good or bad)

It's been a while. Breaking the tie and picking B.

Orruk sends word to his folk, to rest easy, and to hunt for food. The Mammoths are quite a hearty meal for small folk, but for Giants they last only so long. 3 hunters are sent into the wilds to forage and hunt, while the rest of the tribe rests and tends to the herd.
-
It would seem that the hunters were quite successful. Able to bring in two days worth of food. Enough to feed our small tribe of 10 Giants. (Orruk included.)

What now?

Alright Anons! C reached 3 first.

With their bellies full and satisfied, Orruk consults with his Builders. While true, Giants are not as famous as their Cyclopean enemies, their great strength and endurance can let them handle massive construction projects.

The builders are not as pleased with their surroundings, too used to the Frozen Halls, where strong stone, and thick ice could last for centuries and more. But they relent and set about collecting wood from easily felled trees.

-6+2+4=12/3=4. Average result.

Though you knew it wouldn't be the best of housing, the builders are able to construct enough wood huts to keep the sun off your peoples backs. We can only move up from here. (Basic comfort achieved)

Now that some homes are made, and some food to last us until tomorrow, perhaps we can see what really lies in this land?

With some shade to cool Orruks rather large head, he begins to wonder how his siblings are doing up North. Perhaps they miss him. No matter, his home is here with his tribesman.

And part of his Tribe are the Mammoths, a gift from the High Father. He was always a pleasant, yet strictly just Giant. It is time to do a check up on them.

-9+6+4=19

And our father thought it was just to give a small herd to a small tribe, despite Orruk being one of his very own sons. A shame, yet justice is justice when a God says it is.

19 heads of Wooly Mammoths is nothing to scoff off, for they are loyal and friendly to their Giantfolk herders.

Perhaps it is time for us to do some real work. There is that rather healthy Bull name Dickus... Some new heads in the spring wouldn't hurt.

Fast anons are fast, wow.

Orruk, after admiring Dickus for the prize of the herd that he is, starts to feel that compassion only Giants know. A home for the herd, is a home for the heart. And the potential that they will serve our great tribe.

The builders had no issue of course. Yet building large pens long and tall enough for Mammoths, is a task fit for Giants to accomplish.

-7+5+7=19/3=6(ish) Average success.

The builders, with the help of other tribesman, begin constructing some pens for the Mammoths. It doesn't take too long, and by the time it's finished, Dickus soon leads his herd into their large domain.

Perhaps its' time for a meal? Or maybe it's time to get these Beasts breeding for the future spring? The land here is gentle, (So far) and the extra food, is always welcomed.

Taking a while, so I'm tiebreaking.

It's been a while since the last hunt and forage. Just thinking of it causes Orruk's great belly to growl. Even spooked one of the heffers. You calm the lass, assuring her she's not on the menu. (Yet)

You call for your hunters to go out and bring some meat, to keep the hunger away.

One of your kinsmen, Mous, mentioned that the herd can bring some good milk over the coming months. Just have to determine who is to do it.

-8+6=14/2=7 Success!

It would seem the hunters were very brazen. (As Giants tend to do) They have even slain a Sabertooth! The news brought great joy to the tribe, as the great beast was large enough to last more than a few days.

Perhaps one of our crafters can turn it into a fine cloak?

Alright Cue 70's disco porn music.

Orruk, in his infinite wisdom, sees the Mammoth herd is just too small for a tribe his size, let alone giants. Thus, he consults with his chief Shepherd to figure out a way to get these Mammoths frisky.

-7+5+2=14/3=4(ish). 4 Mammoths impregnated!

In hindsight, telling the giant who's main job was to just watch and move the herd to somehow get Dickus ready for "love" seemed like a strange, and socially disturbing idea.

The noises and sounds made by Giant and Mammoth still bother you. Yet Mous reports the first thing in the morning quite happy about the results.

Maybe it's time to settle down, and focus less on these Mammoths, (for now). To be true masters of this land, we must know more about it.

Sally forth in the name of the High Father!

Orruk has grown comfortable in this soft land. Too comfortable. Whether it is that natural urge to subjugate the great and mighty creatures of the earth, or the blood of a God, Orruk inspires his folk to scout the lands, and to see what waits for them.

-9+6+5=20/3=6(ish) Average success.

The scouts spent many weeks, roaming the fertile valley, and only after the 4th week, did they come back weary, tired and seeking a good meal and some drink.

SCOUTS REPORT:
Wildlife;
Some Sabertooth dens. # Unknown.
Giant Bear are roaming the tree lines, and rivers.
Fish and game are large, and in plentiful # unknown.
Giant elk, are passing through the valley.
And a few giant sloths are lounging near the trees.

Foes;
The scouts, though busy with listing some wildlife, were worried over some disturbing tracks and fires. There is potential for rivals in this land.

Resource;
Good soil, fresh water streaming through the valley in a mighty river. Trees in plentiful supplies. It would seem we've found paradise on earth.

So much information. Yet Orruk must lead his people to glory!

Nice.

Though Orruk has grew up in the icy wastes of his Father's homeland, (with much of his tribe) he feels a strange connection to this soft land. It would seem the power to adapt to the environment is within his tribe. Could we be a new breed of folk soon?

-6+3+9=18/3=6. Average success.

With little convincing, the tribe begins to clear space around the lower valley, seeking to grow crops that would one day feed the bellies of the tribe.

It took little effort on the Giant's part. Their strength was great enough to clear the land with little effort, though clumsy and new to the way of growing. Orruk feels that if we but only keep trying, we'll surely grow in knowledge of the earth!

But what next? Do we plant seeds? What kind of crops will we grow? The land is rich with good food, all we need do is harvest them for seeds first.
