+Current Environmental Development+ The End 3rd year
Due to the nature of where we left off last time this session will be a direct continuation and because of that we have an important decision ahead of ourselves concerning which 'group' we'll focus on immediately. Everyone will get their chance; this is just giving -you- the reader the chance to vote for which path we should take first.

>Confront The Lich Baba Koschei and learn the purpose of the tower.

>Deal with Death, decide the fate of Emily Koschei's persona and discover the secret of death.

>Acknowledge The Technician's shade and become self aware of the "META".

You guys can go ahead and start voting immediately. We'll begin shortly. I'm gonna say first choice to three, again; don't worry about your option not being picked- we're just voting on what we do 'first'.

Naw it's fine, it's fine.

I've been powering through Dark souls 2 scholar of the first sin in anticipation for Dark souls 3 in between taking stardew valley breaks and drawing really offensive pokemon themed hentai.

The Witchtree staff is coming back in Dark Souls 3 and I'm trying to figure out where Drangleic is in relation to Anor Londo because I'm 100% positive/certain that Drangleic ISN'T anor londo and takes place in a different country.

My Darksouls autism goes deep: Since in Darksouls 1 the people of Oolacile use "Whitebark" catalysts and they share a strong resemblence to Witchtree equipment.

So Drangleic COULD be close or around to where Oolacile is, but in Dark souls 3 -from what little has been translated- The Witchtree staff RETURNS and says it's a catalyst used by people "far to the north".

Either way Witchtrees have gone from being used as "imprompt" catalysts to being bred, cared for and harvested of branches to be used as Catalysts from the time of dark souls 2 to dark souls 3.

they're still milking those titles? is demonsouls the same or are they different? i only played for 10-15 minutes before it was boring and tedious- it was worse than those "cutscene" games like borderlands and shit (although i did like the game of thrones one, but im biased as hell, george RR martin is a genius)

dont worry my friend, someone has to like those trash games

Looks like we'll be dealing with Death First.

I'll do it up in a moment.

For those who are interested though: http://strawpoll.me/7241764/r The Strawpoll is 'closed' and I'm taking the results and it looks like the next Civ will beee....

Undead Civ.

The Next Civ will be Undead Civ.
Look forward to political intrigue, city-state-building, country-manegment, immigration and hopefully lots of world building.

please stop i can only get so hard, speaking of political intrigue, that is my favorite "genre" i guess for lack of a better word--
anyways i look forward to it (but please dont "rush" this civ to get to the next one, if u would like us to ....pick up the pace, then just tell us, like u have before)

"I suppose it's time I dropped the facade and was earnest with you- It is the least I can do."

She sits there at the head of the 'table'; hovering her limb possessively behind the entity you've come to know as "Emily" Koschei.
The Technician and Lilith sit opposite. Everything is so silent, so quiet, the only thing they can hear is the sound of one of Lilith's heart beating in her chest and although it's pace is fast and nervous it provides some small comfort to know she's alive and hear the sound of another being.

This entity, this being; She gives off a presence an aura that seems to just consume everything: light, sound, warmth and yet simultaneously does not leave in it's place an absence. The Technician does not feel cold, they do not 'see' the lack of light or the shadow of darkness it would create..She produces 'darkness', genuine, all-consuming, true and honest darkness the likes of which is only known before one is born and when one dies.

"I am the beginning, I am the end, I am the sun, I am the moon. All of existence is a great gnarled tree and I am the being that gnaws and hacks away at the trunk to fell it and I am at once the being who collects the fruit of souls to further propagate a grove- an eternal orchard to harvest and cull across endless time and space. I am the sole hand behind this endless cycle: the stars in the cosmos, the gods within the dream, to the plants and people of each physical world."

"All are equal in my eyes and none are above this cycle: I will take Emily- I will take my spawn, my child, my dim sad candle and you will do me -the first true mother- the kindness of not resisting."

>Death makes, quite a compelling argument.
>Lilith is horrifically afraid of death
>Emily can't speak- she's a little overwhelmed by death's physical presence.
>The Technician however is persistent- something inside of them tells that there's an alternative to alternatives. There must be some way to save Emily?
>What should they do? Actions?
>>
>>46420136
>The Next Civ will be Undead Civ.
>Look forward to political intrigue, city-state-building, country-manegment, immigration and hopefully lots of world building.
Any relation to RedThroat Ghoul Civ?
>>
>>46420758
>Ask for more information specifically about why Emily is so important that she must be reaped herself, and her relation to the lich

I have to have things clarified here. Is she Baba Koschei? Is she related TO baba koschei?
>>
We don't really have anything to offer to death in exchange for Emily.

I mean, maybe we could threaten to find a way to create immortality or something if she doesn't let her go
>>
>>46420758
Is there any particular reason WHy we want to save Emily? Like, any reason we picked up from the world so far or something or do we just have a weak spot for helping people in distress?
>>
>>46420758
>Implore death that Emily be allowed to live, at least long enough to reproduce and pass her genes on to the next generation

It seems l ike the kind of argument that a homonculi might make?
>>
>>46420758
tell me something death, if you see everyone as equal and none are above the cycle- why is baba a lich? how come you believe she is a sad dim candle, did she wrong you, grief you?

>>46420770
please dont, that hole in my heart has never recovered, i dont think it will
>>46420821
i believe she is a "goddess of death" and baba is a lich- so in theory...she is the master of all liches
>>46420912
i totally agree with this, honestly baba has given us no reason to save her and i believe she has even tried to kill our family- it doesnt mean she doesnt need saving but i am still curious
>>
>>46421005
I don't think Emily is Baba Koschei

I think she's a human soul that Baba is trying to put back into a body
>>
>>46421005
>>46421057
This can be easily resolved, is Emily a centaur or not?

Baba is a centaur
>>
>>46421057
no, i know very definitively that emily is baba, and baba is emily- i believe baba is a nickname or petname- something of that nature, she is a centaur from what i remember, or use to be atleast.
read this >>46420758

>>46421093
yes, they are one in the same- trust me i am autistic about details, especially cyclops'
>>
>>46420942
This is a pretty good argument, Death has already admitted it herself

In order to reap you must first sow. By taking emily now she is ensuring she will never again have the chance to take a soul like hers again, and never again will there be any kind of fruit of man or centaur
>>
There doesn't need to be an alternative. Emily has lived her life many times. She's lived far longer than she was supposed to. Give death it's due. It's only fair.

We need to rid ourselves of Baba Koschei too, and this should help.
>>
>>46421164
I think it's not that simple. Emily is probably the key to dealing with Baba.

I vote in favor of getting more clarification but that we stress our arguments, and our defiance to death that this will breed if she doesn't hear us out on this
>>
>>46421118
Ok what proof do you have that Emily and Baba are the same person?

If they are, how can we be dealing with her soul while her body is running around outside in the other scene?

ANYWAY for
>>46420758
I suggest we challenge death to a GAME, FOR EMILY's SOUL

I'm pretty sure there's a rule for this

At the very least she should allow us to talk to Emily before anything happens
>>
>>46421217
Why should we defy death? It's pointless. Establish that we need to destroy Baba with Emily, then let death take them both.
>>
>>46421304
And bet OUR soul on the line for Emily's to sweeten the deal
>>
>>46421315
Defying death is THE purpose of life and we are life, even in a slightly cancerous form

If we don't, we might as well just roll over and let ourselves go right now
>>
>>46421304
my friend i am trying to be as friendly as possible,-

>She sits there at the head of the 'table'; hovering her limb possessively behind the entity you've come to know as "Emily" Koschei.
literally the first 2 sentences- not to mention when we first were introduced i believe she was named emily koschei and she kind of evolved into baba, so if anything baba is a 2.0 of emily

also im not sure if her body IS running around (i believe she is in a dream/trance state, for various reasons but most meta knowledge)
if not then we'll probably be attacked by her minions and if we're not "sleeping" also then we defend.

as far as the game, that could work but like i said, WHY should we save her honestly? is there ANY reason? other than it seems like shes being...tortured for lack of a better word

>>46421325
nigga you crazy? we had our soul for like....8 months max.
-------------

cyclops can you please reply and confirm or deny that "baba/emily" koschei is the same person or if they are separate?
>>
>>46421390
No, Not at all. Death will take us when the time comes. Death does not do the killing, it just collects afterwards. Defying death is trying to live after you are supposed to die, not living.
>>
>>46421501
Death comes in MANY MANY ways. Life is not the default state of the world or your existence. Everytime you breathe, that is your small way of defying death.

It is in our nature to live, and struggle to continue to live, no matter what the odds are against it, no matter how much energy must expended to stave death off
>>
>>46421556
We know that it is Death's responsibility to reap and to sow. That means that what it sows must grow to harvest before being reaped. When we die, it is not the work of Death. We may defy the things that would cause us to expire, but not the being that comes to reap us.
>>
>>46421304
Is it going to be Chess? I bet it's going to be chess

Supporting this option if our arguments about sowing and reaping don't work
>>
>>46421601
That would work if Death hadn't clarified her position as being the one who 'gnaws at the tree of life' indicating that death is in fact actively trying to kill us
>>
Death rolls her shoulders and gently lifts her hand off from Emily, "You may speak, child."
The Colour returns to Emily and she becomes animated once more, gasping out a response, "I- I don't know if I'm alive, dead or if I've just been a dream this entire time, but I know I'm not Baba Koschei! It's the only thing I can be sure of anymore: I'm nothing- I'm NOT Baba!"

Emily shuffles forward a little, "I don't know why you should or shouldn't prevent me from passing on.. Maybe I'll like being dead? Maybe that's the best action to take in this situation, but, I'm.. I'm frightened I won't exist anymore."
The palm of Death gently crawls beside and slowly around Emily once more, "Let me tell you all a Story." She spreads herself out like a curtain, thick, wavering, shroud of comforting, soft darkness over the three of them.

"I like to use this Analogy; little candles. You're all little candles in my little chapel: with one candle I can light as many candles as I want and the first little spark isn't lessened in any way for it and when that little candle finally burns through it's wax- poof! It's gone, but at the same time, is it really? Only the wax is gone, but the candle's light still remains." Death rolls over, the folds within the area contort and the mood shifts; a gross, discomfort spreads and fosters within the three.

"The Undead. The Undead complicate things: little candles on their last breaths, stretching out their time, burning, sputtering, smelling up and wafting smoke across our pleasant little chapel. Emily is the last spark in the candle that is Baba Koschei: Baba is melted, pooled pile of wax I can't disturb for fear of having her smother Emily into nothing but smoke."
>>46420821
The Technician asks though, "Why is Emily so important? Why go to all this trouble for Emily?" Death laughs the soft and honest giggle of a tired, middle aged woman ending in a sigh.

"I do this for everyone. I come for everyone."
>>
>>46421712
well, I can't really see cause to stop her
>>
>>46421892
I feel like we should try. We can take Emily's soul and put her in a new body. New wax, same light

just like Death said
>>
>>46421712
i swear you try to leave us somewhat in the dark even when explaining meta/plot points-
was death literally freezing her when he touches her? or is she actually too scared to talk in fear of retaliation from death?

from what i understand, liches are an undead that have been "alive" for a long time- now if that is true

then what are "feral homunculi"- how come we didnt have a soul before and now we do? did a candle just magically appear in your metaphorical chapel? was it your will through lilith to light our soul?

death obviously has a purpose for us, a goal for us, so out with it- and maybe yet we can save baba/emily (from what i understand she is still the same person, you basically told us that baba is the lich version of emily, that "emily" is dead as we know it, but her "soul" is still there, so more or less its still emily)
anyways, like i said, what does death want, how may we serve, if you will.
>>
>>46421712
I am waiting for the second part of the post but I am hoping we can play for Emily's soul. There has to be some sort of rule we can exploit for this instead of just telling death we'd really really appreciate it
>>
>>46421712

>I suggest we challenge death to a GAME, FOR EMILY's SOUL

The Technician remembers something they had read about in one of their books and slaps their hands onto the table, "A Game! I can challenge you to a Game, correct? And Bet my soul for Emily's, correct?"
Death loses a small scrap of composure and lets out a snort of amusement, "My child, I GAVE you your soul, please don't insult my handiwork by throwing it away over a children's game for a tired old soul. You're a little too young to be making such bold bets, my dear."

>>46420942

>In Order to reap you first must sow the seeds.
>Lilith finally speaks up.

Lilith is, she's frozen; like a deer in a spotlight Death herself represents an overwhelming, horrifically powerful anti-thesis to a lot of what she's come to accept as her persona, motives, ambitions as a philosopher's stone.

Lilith looks upon Death and falls into a void where depth and perspective mean very little to this Titan -but- she sees something they have in common and speaks up in a quiet, mewling and pathetic whisper.
"I-If there's no Humans or Centaurs.. Y-you uh, won't be able to reap anymore- Mother, your highness. A-as you said: candles, lights, Y-you would, u-uhmn be losing out on a unique.." Death laughs once more, this time louder and a little more sultry.
"Okay."
The three of them perk up, Death continues, "That's fine."
Techie leans over the table, "What, really? Just like that?"
Death slowly starts wafting down, shrinking, slipping into something a little more "approachable", "Yes, that's an acceptable compromise: If It means that much to you. Though Mother will need to borrow you two for a moment."

>Death is willing to meet you half way on the condition that she "borrow" Lilith and The Technician.
>"I can't make the wax out of nothing after all; we'll need to do a little.. How the mortals say, "Animal husbandry?" "
>If you agree this will 'end' this interaction and Emily's fate will be: REINCARNATION.

The tension slowly starts to subside as Death calms down: the darkness lingers, but it takes on a kind of warmth, comfort, being immersed and covered in a blanket that shrouds all distractions.
Emily turns to face death; falling into her arms as she's held, slowly, gently- for what feels like an eternity before she's seemingly spirited away.

"Thank you for choosing the kind route. I'm going to tell you something; a sort of secret: I'm not allowed to bring up reincarnation." Death sits down, becoming more humanoid, more physically present and humble in both presentation and atmosphere.
"In the beginning there was soul, matter and the 'mind'.." Death very briefly glances over to something behind the Technician before continuing, "and with these three aspects separate my existence was sad and solemn: I was to end all of existence; permanently. Every sun, every black hole, down to energy, down to matter, 'till the warmth and every spark of soul had been smothered."

The area shrinks into itself, getting more confined, enclosed- Death slowly contorting the space within the are so she's within the center. She begins to unshroud herself, exposing a gleaming, twinkling, platinum flesh- her body a beautiful mural of stars, the endless expansion of creation."
"Life was a breathtaking agent of chaos: a wild card that perpetuates an eternal cycle through combining all aspects of reality.. and to give me further purpose." Lilith and The Technician feel hands softly brush against them.

"I have shown you the ugly truth, now let me show you the beautiful lie."

"DISTRACTIONS WITH NO DEPTH INTO WHAT YOU INTERFERE WITH."

14 hours ago Baba Koschei stormed (rode into? She's a centaur, it's difficult to say) your arcanum: kidnapped The Technician while they were having dinner and somehow managed to STEAL The philosopher's stone core of Lilith.
Since then your people have been waging a 14 hour siege on the very top level of the tower and directed at the Lich Baba Koschei's inner-sanctum and personal arcanum: "Princess", The Pilgrim, Elizabeth, Lilac and a small army of soldiers, salamanders, pixies and Minor-Amazons have been burning, beating, cutting and force-marching there way up 5 floors of puppeteered, mindless, corpses of varying make, build and design.

They've finally come baring down unto Baba Koschei's personal sanctum: an entire level devoted to both equal amounts of arcane machinery, lab equipment, some small personal trappings and the massive bell you've been hearing ringing out each night hanging from the ceiling of this 'final floor'. The whole floor feels as though it doesn't know if it wants to be a grave, chapel or royal quarters, but this matters little to your people.

Baba Koschei presents herself, armed with a polearm and make-shift armor of bone and cold fire; she continues her verbal assault, "I WILL NOT HUMOR THE VIOLENT SYMPATHETIC OUTBURSTS OF SOME OVER-POPULATED DYSFUNCTIONAL-" Her Fire snuffs out and her bone armor falls lifelessly onto the floor.

She seems visibly disturbed by this turn of events, "No, no, what did you do? No, no, no, no." She raises her hands and.. nothing, nothing so much as sputters out- her footing and body movement become clumsy and dizzy, "No, NO, EMILY- EM-Emily, Emily??"
Baba Koschei gallops, half tripping over her own feet as she rushes to check on a sizable, ornate, lantern sitting on the altar at the end of the floor.

The Flame in the lantern has gone dim; Baba's hands quiver- a little at first, but she begins to convulse. "No, no, oh please, Emily."

"No, no, oh please, oh please, Emily." Baba Koschei loses all of her composure- until this point even when she had shouted threats, they were always accompanied by an air of charisma, confidence in the future.

"No, no, no, I couldn- I can't, I can't do it without you, please, please, Emily- EMILY!" For lack of a better term; Emily begins weeping, but she's been dead for so long and her emaciated body hasn't pumped blood or fluids in centuries- It would be more accurate to say she woefully moans as she curls up into herself and clutches the lantern.

"No, no, no, no, no- I was going to save everyone, I was going to bring it all back. Emily I just needed a little more time; we were going to do it together. Why? Why now?? You waited CENTURIES, WHY NOW EMILY?" She begins hitting and clawing at the lantern, "WH- YOU." Koschei sits up, "YOU DID THIS."

"YOU DID THIS. YOU THINK THIS WOULD STOP ME? YOU THINK I'D JUST GIVE UP AND LAY DOWN AND DIE?"

Baba Koschei regains her composure: calmly reaches into her side-saddle reagent purse, pulls out an ornately crafted flintlocke pistol and fires it at the bell in the ceiling. The Sound of black powder going off is mildly deafening in such an enclosed space and the bell lets out a dull, echoing vibration that can be felt in your homonculis bones, but.. They don't understand the significance until.

"DUDLEY, KILL THEM. KILL THEM ALL. I BEG OF YOU."

The Giant Tower Bell begins to buckle, fold and bend into itself like tin foil- Teetering back and forth as it becomes dimly lit with blue flame that starts to SMELT and push the metal around all the while a familiar, eager, masculine voice can be heard laughing from inside the shaping armor.

>"Round two, eh? Gladly, my queen."

this makes it seem like they are again one in the same- im not saying your wrong, its just that as i understand it, she is basically fighting herself, a battle between one soul, of two people, the "angel" and the "devil"- maybe im reading too much into it though.

> Emily I just needed a little more time; we were going to do it together
and then theres this- you know what im going to hold my breath until they're confirmation on who or what emily and baba koschei are/is-

is there any way to intimidate or otherwise diplomacy the situation? or is he unquestionably loyal?

also >anime reaction that looks too dangerously close to what i imagined baba to originally look like, before we knew she was a centaur

is it a good anime?

>Flamers heat up the bell/Dudley with non-magical fire
>Soldiers start breaking random stuff
>some Soldiers bring in a whole lot of water
>Pilgrim tries to put out the Mana Forge
>Amazon watches Baba and readies a reaction
while Baba completely ignores the flamers like they are idiots, she'll either go for the room wreckers or Pilgrim. They are the distractions.

When hot metal is cooled very, very quickly, it becomes extremely brittle. 2 turns of heat and a fast quench will make Dudley brittle enough to crumple under Amazon's hammer.

nah i think hes either A. too focused on his writing, or B. writing, so hes focused-
...or maybe he just ignores us on purpose to make us wanting more-bastard

as far as im concerned our whole infantry/whatever is in on the siege (except maybe the dolls, what would they do, seduce the undead?)

are you sure we should "ring" the bell, even if its flames that are doing it? or did you just throw the bell in there because thats what summoned dudley

also instead of "putting out" the mana forge, why dont we try to use it, that imp demon got super-plus'd when he went in, i wonder if it will do anything to us
>>
>>46424246
....the bell is turning itself into a vessel for Dudley.
>>

Our imp got powered up by going into one of our liquid mana pods, mana forges CONSUME mana, so it'd probably kill him.

very possible, i thought it was like a ....conduit if you will, to summon dudley (and possibly other undead) but you can definitely be right- whats the worse that can happen?

when i think of forge, i think of consuming something- and then turning it into something better

when/ and if the mana is consumed, it must go somewhere my friend- no need to be hostile
not to mention koschei is VERY powerful, even if we have weakened her, i believe pilgrim would sacrifice himself for the greater good- like most of our homunculi would, so be it.

>Roll 20/20
>Baba is the Shade, Emily was the person.
>Your Roll only offends her, do you think you can lie to me? Do you think a twenty just fixes everything?

The Amazon attempts the diplomatic route before she has to resort to force, "We don't have to go through this, Baba- We can bring back Emily, it isn't too late to resolve this peacefully."

This however seems to strike a cord with Baba; she doesn't take it well, no, she doesn't take it well at all. "D-don't you talk to me about bringing someone back. DON'T YOU SAY HER NAME LIKE YOU EVER EVEN KNEW HER, EMILY WAS MY EVERYTHING. YOU WERE MADE 4 YEARS AGO IN A GLASS JAR; DON'T YOU TALK TO ME ABOUT FRIENDSHIP" Baba draws out her words, coughs, screams in grieving anguish, her pupils go black and looking at her- she doesn't seem, correct? Something is wrong.

She gently falls over into her own shadow; crinkled leaves in the wind, fragments of two dimensional shadow slip down into the floor and walls and in every absence of light.

>In spite her disappearing act; The Homonculi do not feel at all like Baba is gone, no; if anything it feels as though she's now watching them.
>From every corner, behind everyone's back, behind everyone's head- they feel a deep, resentful memory in their heads.

>At least we can focus on Dudley now.
>Taking the other actions, gimmie a second.

>Burn everything, put out everything, destroy the room. Destroy Everything.
>Roll 18 & 17/20
>Dudley Rolls 14 in an attempt to defend himself.

The others don't have the time nor the leisure to dwell on the disappearance of Baba Koschei: Dudley is buckling, forging and forming himself from the Towers mana forge-bell and if he is allowed to come to "completion" he will be an unstoppable 25ft tall Magical Iron Dudley of Destruction.

Your Homonculi do what comes natural to them and begin systematically destroying every single thing in the floor: The Soldiers smash bookcases, furniture, artifacts, lab equipment- anything that looks important or magically or sciency. Princess begins enlisting more specific orders to everyone else though: she has the Salamanders and supplementary Amazons irritate Dudley's forging process through dousing it with water from the previous levels, heating it up again, having The Imp summon water onto the bell and in just generally irritating the hell out of the metal.

Dudley doesn't take this all sitting down of course: He sluggishly swings and bats at the Homonculi with his half-formed, smoldering, blue-hued heated metal arms to try and shoo away the Homonculi.

"Feeble chemical whores, away, away with you- Have you no Honor? So intimidated by my new magnificent incarnation, eh? You know you stand no chance against me, so you sabotage any effort for a fair duel? As expected- you'd best hurry then, for I'll return this disrespect in full and lo' I've been kept sealed away for so long you would do well to kill me quickly lest you behold my bored cruelty, wenches."
Dudley's voice is muffled, shifting in tone due to turning a bell into a suit of armor and comes out "chiming", The Imp has to laugh, "He's comin' roight pitch perfect, idn't e?"

The Pilgrim gets the quip, but he doesn't think it's funny. Noone else really pays him any heed.
The Imp quietly sulks, "I miss me littl master.."

>Dudley Enters into his 2nd Stage
>You have 1 more Turn to "prepare".

The tug-of-war: heating and cooling of the Bell causes it to produce horrible vents and clouds of burning steam- Dudley eventually starts to weaponize this in an attempt to defend himself, but eventually the ceiling supports buckle down from the constant heat and movement and Dudley crashes onto the floor like a hot slab of pig iron.

The Metal bubbles, fuming with blue flames, the metal beginning to glow a uniquely supernatural blue as it forms and hardens up into a more familiar shape.
"Almost time ladies, you've a few more moments 'till you can bask in my glamorous glory before your punctual deaths are assured. Make no mistake- yours will be a quick and gruesome orgy of gore and after I'm done with this miserable militia I'm coming for your women and children."

>Weaknesses Acknowledged: Floor can't hold his weight and the heat, The Idol will stiffen him and the ceiling has been compromised.
>Taking highest roll: 19/20

"Princess" notices the instability of the ceiling from when Dudley pulled it down and the dent it's left in the floor below from the force of the fall; she orders everyone to immediately start making their exit to the safety of the stair case, but not before getting the Salamanders to spit their flames up at the ceiling to further weaken it's supports.

"Pilgrim, did you find anything concerning The Technician or Lilith's Stone?" coming out of Baba's personal quarters The Pilgrim manages to collect the large, red, curled stone that allows Lilith to live, "Yes- I have it right here are we leaving?" Princess nods and everyone else but her and the Imp stay behind.

"Is our little master on this floor?" The Imp shakes his head, "Naw, I.. I can't seem to feel or find 'im anywheres- You've got me permission to end this. I seen's him before though; I'll know where ta' look."

"I'll just keep coming back. You haven't defeated me- you can't, not here. I'll just keep possesing metal, passing through- "
Princess interrupts him, "Yes, yes, and we'll switch from metal to wooden kitchenware, ya, ya, ya- I grow tired of this."

>She tosses the idol into the cooling slag and the shock of it absorbing the energy and heat produced by the Mana violently causes the metal to buckle into a dense fragile lump.
>Princess The Amazon unit calmly hefts up her bone mace, strides over to one of the arches supporting the ceiling of the floor; coils her body and slams into it.
>The whole level's ceiling comes down; crushing Dudley, buckling the floor and having his metallic body smashed to pieces by the fall and the rubble.

"Excellent, Thank you- Oh, please, let me help you up." Thaddeus extends his hand and patiently helps The Technician up off the floor and onto their feet. The spectrum of light shifts to a dull equalized gray.

"My body murdered by my own creation, The Gods transpire against me to seal my soul inside you and yet my mind still subsists inside you. Funny how things end up turning out, eh #13?" This conversation feels a little awkward, but at the same time The Technician feels as though they're talking to themselves.

"I won't waste our time: I don't want my body back and I don't want my soul back, but you need to let me back in, in here- 13" He gently taps his finger onto the Technician's forehead.
"I refuse to live out here in this void as a Psychic memory- I refuse to live as a shadow; slipping in between dreams and the real world- dodging and avoiding until some ancient thing consumes me or your forget about me."

Even as he speaks so calmly, The Technician can.. 'see' it(?): a great expanse of grey, but upon further inspection; writhing, twisting, madness an endless expanse of everything that could, couldn't, would and will not be- This is not the "dream" where the soul rests, this is the "mind" where nightmares are from, where ego is developed, where individuality lays and germinates into personalities, greed and every desire breeds forth in all creation.

This is the realm of sanity, madness, sadness, this is an insight into the Grey Matter, The Light and The Darkness that's existance precedes creation and a self-insertive glimpse into the meta of what entails exactly the psyche.

Thaddeus places his hand on The Technician's shoulder, "Don't uh, don't look too hard into that; self reflection is one thing, but a person can lose themselves in this void."
>>
>>46426487
ask him what he means by "body murdered by my own creation"

>>
>>46426487

"Body is matter and energy, Souls are what piece everything together both physical and ethereal, this.. This is, This is difficult to take in all at once, but it's what has brought everything together." The Technician still doesn't look very convinced and Thaddeus becomes frustrated.

"Okay, kid, just, look, here; HERE." Space contorts into itself, the area becomes rounded, rolling over, the two of them moving across distance and time before they beheld a figure; darkness, covering and shrouding itself in hands it slinks across the surface with fingers sensing around itself.

"Do you know who that is?" The Technician shakes their head, "No, no I don't why are you showing me this?" Thaddeus kneels down, "That's Baba."

Instantly The memory morphs half broken; shoddy, slipping and melting into something vaguely resembling the appearance of Baba Koschei the Centaur, "That WAS Baba; she's just a memory now- a Mind without a body or a soul. I'm not even sure if she's sapient or what's going on with that mess, but I don't want any part of that. This is where Monsters come from, 13- This is where actual fucking monsters are spawned. They say everything is a part of some system, well they lied when they were talking about the Mind."

"The Mind just 'is' and I quite frankly don't want to be a part of 'is'. There are things in here with no sense of time, space- just looking for any sort of medium to express themselves in. Never mind the "gods" that live here. This was my last bit at immortality and power and all it has brought me is confusion, revulsion. Let me out of here."

>Thoughts? Actions?
>>
>>46426736
>Well that's fine but what about Baba?
>>
>>46426736
ok thats all grand but are you what they refer to as a god? and if so isnt that more powerful than anything (obviously there are "clauses" but you get the gist)

and how would i go about getting you out of here, and if i did, would i be stuck in here? like me getting replaced by you, a mind for a body or a soul for a mind- something of that nature?
you're hiding something from me thaddeus-i dont want to be stuck in this void any more than you do

>Well that's fine but what about Baba?

"What about Baba? We're in this together Little man- No, no, don't, come on." The Technician wants to check out Baba- not a lot, but just a little.

She, it, she.. She's a feeling, she's a memory- nothing make sense here, it's all very "intuitive" and schizophrenic and the farther away The Technician 'moves' from Thaddeus the more chaotic, unpredictable and abstracted the surroundings becoming until grey slowly sinks back into a duality of light and darkness with Baba's.. "mound?" being in the dark.

"Baba are you alive? What exactly.. are you right now?"
The Hands spread out the body light covers and something invisible escapes.

The Technician finds themselves laying down and the memory of dried summer grass lingering on them. Overwhelmed simultaneously by nostalgia and bitter, confused, conflicting emotions.
"This places if weird." The Technician and Thaddeus say in unison.

Techie slinks back to Thaddeus, "But I wouldn't necessarily say this place is frightening? I dunno, this is all very suspicious."
Thaddeus already knows the answer he's going to get.
"It's alright 13- Can't blame a guy for trying. It's of no consequence either way."

The Technician perks up, "What do you mean by that?"
The Technician slowly begins chasing after Thaddeus, "Wait, wait, what is that supposed to mean?!"

Thaddeus laughs as he drifts off into nothing and The Technician slowly slips into consciousness.

The Technician wakes up in bed.
Having been cared for surprisingly methodically by their Imp familiar.

Their throat feels hoarse and they've a terrible headache, but their Imp quietly speaks to them, "You're up finally- so you saw him? Bit of a loose end idn't e?"

>>
>>46427404
what the fuck was the good ending? Letting him take control of us?
>>
Alrighty, I'm terrible at ending things, but lets try and piece together our "conclusion":

>The Neighboring Undead Return to Their Home in the Rotwood
Isaiah and Elizabeth spend a year or two longer then expected living peaceful a long side your Homonculi community, but eventually even Elizabeth can't resist their true home back in the Rotwood and Isaiah has them spirited away with the savings, resources and treasures they've collected from living within the tower. Your people unfortunately don't hear much from them again: The Rotwood is a thick, dense, place mirred in obscurity, but it is a place the undead call home all the same.

>The Imp
The Imp carries on carrying on: The Technician never DOES abandon him despite their annoyance towards the creature, but they do eventually build up enough trust that the Imp teaches the Technician how to unsummon them when they've had enough of their annoying presence. Though, as your community grew it did eventually come to find the multitude of technicoloured Imps living scattered across the tower: purple, white, blue, black, pink- they came in a variety of different flavors, personalities and personal hang-ups with your own imp.

>The Homonculi Nation within The Tower of Koschei
Lilith continues to expand, the community grows larger and larger and in the span of 20 or so years the entire tower -as you later find out had been known as "The Tower of Koschei"- is taken over by your people. It is generally avoided by outsiders and low-key dungeon crawlers as being home or rumored to an independent nation of "self-aware" Homonculi bred and churned out by a morbid maiden of flesh. Though, the very few intrepid adventurers who do dwell deep into your dungeon often find themselves either ejected to spread rumors or find a pleasant home for themselves- often not wanting to leave the good life and beautiful women within the tower.

>>
>>46427856

>The Arch-Technician
The Technician ironically is made most famous for their dissertation written on the making, designing, engineering and psychological development of Homonculi- developed from a mis-translation of their leaked writings and studies on their own developing mind and community. Although not terribly popular within Academic or Scholarly establishments; the text becomes cult-followed literature among 'self starting' alchemists. The Technician rules as de-facto leader of your Homonculi community for 40 years: becoming an accomplished wizard before the idea of marriage is introduced and they're wed to lilith. The Technician finally dies at the age of 86 having never really shown their age.

>The Pilgrim- wandering swordsman
The Pilgrim stays for a few years and life is good, but he could never really overcome the wandering sort of temperament that festered in what resembled a heart: After living a life of peace within The Tower; The Pilgrim set out into the 'real world' to experience as much as he could with Lilac at his side. Not much else is know or heard of from the Pilgrim, but people in neighboring countries spread urban legends of a "Homonculi Mercenary and his Homonculi wife; deadly, silent- an organic war machine built from alchemy to be the perfect soldier; now constantly wandering in search of conflict." Though, these rumors are often exaggerated.

>Lilith: The Dungeon
Lilith never 'really' dies. Lilith continues to grow and grow- for years she continues to expand until the entire tower is hers and even after that she expands further outwards into the great beyond of the rest of the world. When The Technician dies Lilith loses much of her personality and quietly slips back into her Philosophers stone- some say all Philosopher's stone have a little piece of Lilith in them waiting for an alchemist they admire as much as The Technician they can show their true-selves to.

>Princess and The Genetic Hierarchy: A dynasty of Homonculi Women
Princess eventually developed beyond not only being a capable authority figure, but also evolved into a genuine leader among your Homonculi and through time and the coming years the genetic "caste" system became more and more ingrained. Eventually and well after the Death of the Technician and the disappearance of lilith; The Homonculi continued to uphold an independent female-administrated society. It lasted as long as the stones and brick in their tower held together before drifting off across the earth in separated feral homonculi colonies- each with their own interpretation of what Genetic castes "purpose" and "will". Many descendants of your original Homonculi found themselves the unwitting protectors of abandoned ruins, ancient cities and pieces of technology discarded through time- almost out of a genetic nostalgia.

Even as the practices and creation of homonculi is lost into obscurity after the fall of contemporary society: well into the age where Cyclopes crawl out of their self-exile obscurity and rule the world- they too witness and acknowledge the presence of free-willed Homonculi maidens perpetuating ancient secrets and maintaining out-of-place artifacts while never truly knowing why.

It...sort of feels like you had just pidgeonholed us to your setting and weren't letting us actually do anything that would come into conflict with what you already had planned out

So... whens UndeadCiv start?
>>
>>46428673
>this was...not as good as cyclops civilization.

Well, yeah.

I mean, no, I mean; nothing will ever live up to the hype that was Cyclopes Civilization, but these were both largely improvised.

The main difference between this and Cyclopes civ is a smaller scale, the restriction of the place and the fact that >I< personally got tired of Homonculi quest much faster than I did Cyclopes quest and didn't want to just "abandon" the quest.

Cyclopes quest could have gone on forever and I desperately wanted to disapear and do other things -so I did-.

With Homonculi quest I saw a way out and tried to 'edge' you forward: which the story and execution obviously suffered for, but I just didn't want to leave you guys hanging.

I know my habit of transparency must take some of the magic away, but doing quests is really fucking exhausting.

That ending explained nothing
>>
>>46428551
honestly i have a couple...concerns if you will-

i liked the homunculi civ and honestly only missed one, last weeks- (part of me thinks that is why you ended it so early...)
---
can you PLEASE not have the next civ be a space-faring (not sure if that was your intention but i think it ruins alot of things personally)
and PLEASE include other civs (i think this story was fleshed out from the beginning to not have other civs, you hinted at it slightly at the beginning, should have foreshadowed it with the whole "bbeg" koschei and shit-

but yea i agree with these people
>>46428571
>>46428404
a bit more about the koschei's, and the coins with "burn together" ETC
-------
>>46428673
i dont think anything will top cyclops- we'll see with the rest but i honestly think everything that was experienced in those threads i will remember for a very long time- those threads made me feel so many emotions-

thats not an insult either, i liked homunculi, but i agree it was SOMEWHAT rushed-(although he asked us to like 3 threads ago, the man got bored with it, you cant expect much when even the author wants to quit, and thats ok)---
the important thing is hes not going away- he'll be back next saturday with a new civ/idea

YEA?

>>46428753
Witter... please learn to punctuate and capitalize your sentences.
>>
Random anon here, I'm thinking of running a quest set within the same lifetime as when cyclops civilization quest ended, detailing the life of a cyclops and medusae trader!

Do I have OPs blessing?
>>
>>46428768
>punctuate
like the comma after punctuate, and before capitalize?

you fucking wished buddy, this is a japanese sushi rolling site
>>
if cyclopsop doesn't show up to answer questions is there any way we can get in touch with him or talk to him elsewhere?
>>
>>46428681
>So... whens UndeadCiv start?

I'm thinking next month most likely since I have a comic convention to prepare for at the end of april and I need to take a break from Civs either way.

>>46428753
>he'll be back next saturday with a new civ/idea
No I won't! :Y

>>46428798
>Do I have OPs blessing?

Mixed blessing.
I'm not 100% sure other people will buy into it, but you're welcome to try.
>>
>>46428753
>can you PLEASE not have the next civ be a space-faring (not sure if that was your intention but i think it ruins alot of things personally)

If I did up Crystallids it would be one of the big end game goals: finding appropriate celestial bodies to harvest resources or colonize, etc. It'd obviously be more complicated then that, but I'd still keep it within the 'solar system'.

>and PLEASE include other civs (i think this story was fleshed out from the beginning to not have other civs, you hinted at it slightly at the beginning, should have foreshadowed it with the whole "bbeg" koschei and shit-

All the Civilizations I have in mind will have immediate or very nearby 'other' competing civs.

Yes, Even Bee Girl Civ would have other competing Civs and they would just as cute as us.
>>
>>46429200
>you wont be back
>you rushed this civ to end it
i know your scheme now- you're going to go away forever this time though arent you...damn you cyclops-DAMN YOU

>>46429330
>bee girl civ
no...please no
honestly im not too excited for undead either...its either overdone, or not done well enough- and i know, you'll say "but its me..come on, its ME", and i understand that but...i would prefer crystalids honestly...but like i said if you HAVE to do undead, consider mummy/pharaoh instead of just regular lich/ or "deathknight" type shit
---------
>big end game goal
yea ok thats fine, i can deal with that-
----
welp i guess ill see you in a month or so, if not on the civ generals- i wish you good health my friend (and a goodnight i believe to you as well)
>>
>>46429515
THought you liked Ghoul Civ?
>>
>>46429560
of course i did, i love(d) ghoul civ, and i love jyoti-
but it doesnt mean that i would want a malformed clone of ghoul civ, just like i would never do a "reviving" of cyclopsCiv, it just wouldnt feel right-

and im not saying that cyclops would copy jyoti or whatever the case may be, im just saying that ghouls/mummies/zombies/liches-whatever
its all the same, and it usually devolves into one thing no matter the "author" MUST ASSIMILATE INTO EMPIRE OR DIE
now im sure cyclops can try to push us away from that, but i have a strange feeling that if he does, it will take players away

you take players away, theres no game
--anyways im tired so im going to bed, goodnight anon, ill read your reply in the morning(if you have one)

What happened to Emily wasn't she to be reincarnated? Did she succeed in resurrecting humans and centaurs?
