And right now you've wrapped up filming for the day for this very very, silly show, of which you had somehow landed the lead role. "The Producer says there's no more jobs for today, so we've got the rest of the day off. Filming continues same time tomorrow."

"Sooooooooo." Julie prods you in the side with her elbow. "Got any plans, tonight, Cole?"

"We know you're planning something." Melissa adds, poking you with her cybernetic finger.

"I do find it a little funny you got her a minor part in the show." Morgan giggles as you all head to the changing room.

"Yeah, well, she keeps saying we all gotta expand her horizons." You shrug. "She wants me to sciencey shit, then she's gotta make herself look like an idiot in front of a crowd."

You all get changed quickly enough, as you've done it so many times at this point it's almost second nature. After wiping off all of that disgusting extra makeup they force you to put on to look good on the camera, you're out of your costume and back into your casual clothes in a matter of seconds.

You decide to say goodbye to the other actors. After all, it wasn't all just your fellow idols. Some girls from other companies were involved too. Like, Robin, who played Anna. Contrary to her onscreen persona, Robin was utterly professional, being dead serious off camera. Mulberry, who was pretty much just as nice as she was portrayed. Sam, funnily enough, happened to share the same real name as he role, and was also a bit more professional than her onscreen persona seemed to suggest.

"Hey, Sam!" You ruffle your fellow actor's greenish blonde hair. "Done for the day?"

"Nah, gotta go film a few extra scenes for my other show." Sam gives a tired smile. "Nothing too much, though. Just touching up a scene."

Ah, right, Sam was also doing a sci-fi show.

"I could get you a part in that if you'd like. The Director's looking for more talent!" Sam suggests.

"Hahaha, I wouldn't be caught DEAD in those uniforms!" You shake your head rapidly.

"Ah, well, the offer's on the table!" Sam nods before picking up her bag. It looked awfully large and heavy.

"Hey, you need help with that?" You frown.

"Nah, I'm good!" Sam waves you off. "Just some stuff for my other job."

"A THIRD job?" You gasp. "Jeez, you're a busy girl."

"Don't even get me started." Sam laughs again. "See ya tomorrow!"

"Good job today, Cole." Robin says cooly as she shuffles past, headphones on as she's out the door before you can say anything else. Real smooth operator, she was.

You grin as you slide your hand along the smooth surface of your relatively new Harley. It wasn't a true "classic", in the sense that it was one of the actual original bikes from a few decades ago, but this one followed the same design sensibilities, albiet with a few modern improvements. It wasn't exactly as high tech as those real fancy ones Japanese corps like Toha were putting out, but the simple and robust design was more than enough for your needs.

Plus the lack of electronic components meant damage to bike would be limited if you ever got a bit "excited" while you were riding it.

Of course, Dad was FURIOUS when he found out you bought it. After all, statistically, motorcycles were far more dangerous to drive, but shit, given where you came from, you're lucky you even survived to this age, so fuck statistics! You bought the bike with your own hard earned income, and even went through the trouble getting fully and legally licensed to operate a bike, so Dad wouldn't have any room to complain. You're pretty sure he still hasn't quite gotten over it.

Anyways, you were running late! You put on your jacket and helmet before mounting the bike and revving it up. Your helmet's build in display then shows you the predicted GPS-guided route to your big sister's lab.

The Harley's engine roars, hungry for speed.

The gate to the parking lot is barely open a sliver before you blitz through like a an X-wing going on a trench run, giving the gate guard a bit of a fright as the sheer shockwave of your passing rattles the windows of his guard station. However, you're long gone by the time he can react, pulling up to the freeway to take the shortest and most direct route.

AND OF FUCKING COURSE there's traffic, apparently always when YOU need to use the damn thing. However, one of the perks of motorcycles was that you could just go THROUGH the traffic, weaving effortlessly in between the various cars choking up the road. Of course, you do this all full speed, shooting past the cars too slow for you liking. Most pay you no heed, but a few angrily honk at you, no doubt totally jealous at your ability to actually get where you want in good time. Not like you could tell which car was honking at you, though, as everything seems to become a vague blur.

And that's when you hear the police siren.

FUCK.

You turn your head back for a split second to see the signature blue and red flashing lights of the fuzz, A motorbike cop, apparently. Just your luck.

"Ma'am, can you please take off your helmet?" The cop asks as he dismounts. His hand wasn't on his holster, which meant he wasn't expecting trouble or anything. That was good at least.

The cop then quickly dashes to his back, mounts it, and speeds away, sirens screeching in the distance.

You decide to take it nice and slow the rest of the way. Just a conservative 80 miles per hour instead. You finally reach Vahlen's lab. It was a small, modest place, nestled away in a large industrial park. It wasn't nearly as big or as nice as the stuff she used to work with back a Umbrella, but then again, you don't really see Vahlen going back there anytime soon. You park your bike and waltz up to the front door. You peel your riding glove off and press it against the palm reader next to the door, and stare at the retinal scanner at the same time. Satisfied, the door unlocks and swings in to let you inside.

"You're late. Again." Big Sis Vahlen tuts. "You're making quite a bad habit of this."

"Well EXCUUUUUSE ME, sis!" You grunt as you close the door behind you. "I got a pretty busy schedule nowadays, if you haven't seen."

"Oh yes, the filming, I'm aware." Vahlen chuckles. "It looks like we'll be working together soon. The Director put in a call for me to return next week."

"No shit?" You blink. "He tell you way?"

"Nope, the script hasn't been finalized yet." Vahlen shrugs. "But I do have to admit, it's a very interesting experience, being on stage..."

Vahlen then shuffles over to one end of her lab, where she grabs a large cable from a wall socket and begins pulling it over to an empty spot on the floor.

"Um, sis? What are you planning...?" You ask a bit nervously.

"Well, I sort of had this idea. A theory, actually." Vahlen says as she sets down the cable on the floor. She heads over to a nearby switch and flips it, and you can see the begin glowing from live charge.

"What kind of theory..." You ask, getting a little more uneasy.

"You see, upon study, I've found that your powers derive from each of your individual cells storing a little bit of electrical charge." Vahlen says as she walks over to you. "And obviously, this charge can be eventually depleted but replenished via high calorie or salty foods."

"Uh huh." You nod. You sorta knew all this already.

"But, I think this is something we haven't really tried." Vahlen grins. "What if you can recharge directly from a power line? Completely bypass your natural organic charge generation?"

"Um..." You glance down at the live cable and everything becomes clear.

The lights flicker as you feel the electricity course through your nerves. It's not really painful or anything, but it was definitely uncomfortable. It was hard to describe, really. It was like, being made to drink too much water, or stuffing your belly with too much food.

"It was." Vahlen nods and pats your shoulder. "Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to cut our experiments short until they can restore the power. How about we go get something to eat?"
