You are Adrian Brown, a twenty five year-old third-year medical student living an otherwise normal American life in search of employment. That was until you woke up inside a direct and demon-infested hospital with four other victims of short-term memory loss. Together, the five of you managed to somehow survive by negotiating with demons and defeating those that were not so amicable. And upon escaping, the all of you realized that it wasn’t as simple as that.

Task Force 666 a multinational organization dedicated to combating hostile demons and those that would use them for ill intentions. And the hellhole you just went through? That was your ‘job interview’, one that you passed with flying colors. When properly offered employment as an agent among the ranks, you accepted without too much hesitation or second thoughts. Duty to humanity and whatnot.

You are now a Devil Summoner in the service of the Task Force, and the de-facto leader of East Coast Operations Rookie Team Three. It is your duty to protect mankind from all threats involving the demonic, but how you choose to carry out your orders is entirely up to you. The choices you make shall not only affect those around you, but the fate of the entire world itself…

[11:00 AM Monday, June 29th 2015]

The drive back to headquarters in D.C. had been relatively uneventful, save for the occasional snore Victoria made in her fitful sleep. As soon as she greeted your return with a tired ‘good morning’ and strapped herself into the seatbelt, she promptly collapsed against the side of the car without any further preamble and refused to budge until you arrived in the capital. For the sake of not disturbing her, you all decided to keep your silence.

Alger had driven on ahead, with a restrained Murdock in the backseat of his car. It was his opinion that they get the former agent processed as fast as possible. You spoke your piece and did the best you could, but it’s out of your hands now. Murdock’s fate was in the hands of the internal bureaucracy of the Task Force.

Due to the impromptu nature of her recruitment, Madison was going to have to be picked up by another team. She had two weeks to get her affairs in order and keep her mouth shut about the existence of her new employers. After that, training and (if Alger’s sources were correct), a desk job for Division IV. Something about the last secretary getting transferred to Division II, the intelligence branch of North American Operations.

Before you left, she approached you, and dangled a little chain wrapped around her wrist. A tracking device, courtesy of Alger, just to make sure that she wasn’t going to hightail it out of town. At your frown, Madison assured you that it was alright. As far as she was concerned, if it was all in the name of atonement, then she would just bear it and accept it as it was.

You smile at the memory. She’s come a long way from the loud-mouthed jerk you met at the Boardwalk.

Three days have passed since your return, with dreams devoid of goddesses and commendations from Central. For a first mission, you all did exceptionally well. In addition to giving Alger a bonus to his budget, you were all formally recognized as a proper team of Devil Summoners.

>Rookie III has been reassigned as Carina Squad!

Since then, the five of you have had little in the ways of doing anything until you all fully recovered from your injuries sustained in the last case, each doing their own thing occasionally in the company of the others. Whenever she wasn’t in her room, Victoria was tinkering around with her COMP, and Brady was feeding his demons exotic snacks and deserts. MacKay meditated, prayed and studied tomes from the archives while Fitz alternated between the shooting range and fitness area.

And then you had the one Pathfinder session that everyone decided to forget and leave in Division IV’s recreation room…until you came back for another session. Your collective experience could be best described as ‘watching a train crash in slow motion’, complete with screaming, tears and sides going into orbit. Oh, and dice being flung across the room, courtesy of too many natural ones and a very irate and unlucky Fitz.

They can’t wait for the next session.

>Brady approves + 9
>Fitz approves +9.
>MacKay approves +9.

You’re supposed to be recovering. You know, from all those injuries? Maybe it wasn’t the smartest of moves to spar with, you know, the former policewoman who’s more than capable of thrashing your ass nine ways to Sunday? You can’t even handle her for more than a minute before she’s got you pinned down to the mat, smirking triumphantly as you gasp for breath underneath-

Oh goddammit, Brady. God fucking dammit.

Snide remarks from Brady about enjoying being dominated, you definitely feel a kind of improvement. Maybe it’s the speed of your attacks or how hard you hit, but you’ve definitely made some progress. And that’s not even counting the hours spent in the shooting range, emptying magazine after magazine into paper cutouts of demonic caricatures.

It’s the little progress here and there that comes to form the greater whole.

>You gain a + to Combat!

“Oi, Sawbones,” Fitz calls out to you, her voice muffled by the mouthpiece in her teeth. Hopping on the balls of her feet and punching at shadows, she holds up her arms in a boxer’s stance. “Quit daydreamin’ and come at me. You ain’t leavin’ here until one of us is on the ground."

Rolling your eyes, you slap the side of your helmet and double-check the Velcro around your gloves. As you raise your arms, you try not to notice the exchange of cash between your teammates and a few of the other agents outside of the ring.

“May the best man win,” You say, tapping her outstretched hand before putting your hands up. Your comment doesn’t go unnoticed by her.

She smirks. “We’ll see about that.”

The match begins with the sound of Brady ringing the bell and cursing as he drops the mallet.

In almost every martial arts movie you’ve ever seen, the venerable sensei always tells his (or her, in the case of that extremely bizarre midnight feature) impressionable student that hesitation is weakness. Victory must be seized as soon as the opportunity presents itself, without any sort of hesitation or fear. Now or never, carpe diem! All of that stuff.

That was the advice you once followed. You say ‘once’ because every time you tried to rush Fitz, all it took was a side step and a punch to the face before everything all went to shit. An eager start and an even quicker finish-

...you contemplate asking Mido whether or not selective erasure is a feature that could be applied to Mnemosyne. Right now, the last thing you need is innuendo concerning your teammate bouncing around your head. You don’t even want to think about what might happen if the cup at your groin shifts at the wrong moment and the chance of you having kids is completely out the window.

You move defensively, hands raised and eyes narrowed as the two of you go circles around each other. Fitz liked to alternate between spontaneous burst attacks and counter-punches. Between your earlier habits of charging in blindly and her preference for fighting, there was little wonder as to how you went down so quickly.

From behind the faceplate, you can see her raise an amused eyebrow. “Nice to see you not charge in all at once. But you gotta make your move. Can't take your sweet time because otherwise…”

Without any warning, she rushes at you from a low angle, fists cutting through the air as they strike at you. “You’re gonna get left behind in the dust!”

Looking back on it, you’re not even sure how you did it. You even went and swore on every holy book within walking distance that you were not magically buffed in any way, shape or form. And the security cameras can verify that you haven’t even summoned your demons once this day, or came into contact with anyone else.

Brady backed you up when the issue came up. You know this because he triple checked everything out of desperation to retract his bet on Fitz. Needless to say that he was very disappointed when it just happened to be nothing but a combination of your luck and mad skills.

Something inside of you awakens, and your instinct kicks into overdrive. Your hands lash out, swiping away the blows you can afford to come into contact with minimal ease as you move from one attack to the next. For the ones that get too close to you, it doesn’t even take too much of a twist of your body to let them whiff past you.

Fitz doesn’t even have time to retract her last punch before you move in for a counter attack. Her eyes widen in surprise as you close the distance and lash out with a combination of your own.

Thank God you’ve always done things MMA, because the move you’re about to do was not going to fly inside of a boxing match.
Hook punch to the gut to stagger her, knock the wind out of her lungs. Temple strike to disorient her senses. And the finisher? You grab Fitz by the lapel of her sports gear and throw her down to the mat.

She hits the ground with an audible ‘OMF’ coming out of her throat and a ‘POMF’ escaping from the foam mats, cutting off the half-finished “oh fuck” that would’ve normally accompanied being hit. You don’t even give her time to blink before you pin her down, straddling her with your left arm against her neck and your right fist cocked and aimed directly at the faceplate of her helmet.

For the briefest of moments, her eyes flare dangerously and she struggles against the weight that’s got her pinned down, but it’s no use. You’ve got at least a good thirty pounds, on her, if not more. Even if she was able to pull some weird grappling stance that would reverse your hold, she already lost.

First one to hit the ground loses.

Fitz’s chest rises and falls with every deep breath of air as she stares at you with a surprised look on her face. The wild look in her eyes has been replaced with one of disbelief. And she isn’t the only one.

A quick flick of the eyes to your peripherals shows that the entirety of the peanut gallery is completely shocked with what just happened. Victoria’s face is a mix of both ‘what the fuck’ and incredulity, while MacKay rubs his eyes as if to check if his vision is failing him. Brady, on the other hand looks like he’s about to have an aneurism.

You give her a small smile as you lightly tap her on the head. “My win.”

And just like that, the match is over.

You push yourself off of her, taking a moment to straighten out your fighting gear before offering a hand to her. It takes a few moments for her to register the offer before she reaches out and grabs your hand in an iron grip. You firmly root yourself as she hauls herself up, staggering momentarily on her feet before finding a happy balance on her feet.

With a swift motion, she yanks the helmet off of her head and spits her mouth-guard into it. Before you can even tell her as to how unhygienic her actions were, she cuts you off. “Where the hell did that come from? I mean...how'd that just happen?”

She isn’t angry, or even irritated for that matter. But you can’t get a grip on her tone of voice. It's really intense, though.

“My instincts just…kicked in, you know? Flight or fight, and I guess…they wanted to fight.”

She raises an eyebrow at that. “Oh really? Still doesn’t explain how you pulled off something out of the fuckin’ Matrix, Neo.”

“Well…” You rub the back of your neck sheepishly. “It does help that I learned from the best.”

That gets the look off her face. She snorts, and the skeptical twist her mouth had adopted twists into a small grin. “Damn straight you have.”

>Fitz approves +3

You smile as you remove the mouth-guard from your mouth. “Just don’t expect me to do anything like that again soon. Kind of got lucky that one time.”

“Wouldn’t have it any other way. I can only take so much bullshit at once before I reach my threshold.”

“How about best two out of three? Surely my luck can’t last that long.”

“Maybe later. Right now, I’m really fuckin’ hungry,” Fitz mutters as she takes at least three mouthfuls of water from out of her bottle. “Showers, then cafeteria. And I hear Alger’s got somethin’ for us.”

“That’s right. So I guess I’ll see you in a few, then,” You say before turning your attention to your teammates. “Lunch in a few minutes, okay…wait a second. Is Brady alright?”

>One meal later…

The five of you, properly showered, dressed in Task Force fatigues, and full of grub, sit in Division IV’s briefing room, a state-of-the-art theater-like room. The leather seats are quite nice to the touch, and they still have that ‘new chair’ scent as you ease yourself comfortably into one of them. All of you are paying the utmost attention to the screen.

“Squad Carina’s next mission,” Alger says, “Is a diplomatic sort. Every year, the Task Force sends a squad of Devil Summoners to the Fairy Kingdom to offer their services to the fey as a gesture of goodwill. This year just happens to be our division’s turn on rotation, and you are, unfortunately, the only team here on-base.

“Normally, these duties entail minor pest control and the occasional guard of sacred areas and fairy rings. At this point, I would normally be sending you off with the coordinates in hand and gifts in the back of the car, but things have taken a twist for the unexpected.”

Your commander pushes a few buttons on his COMP. One flash of light later, and a beautiful woman with cerulean eyes and flowing blonde hair materializes into the briefing room. The green dress, embroidered and tinted with golden patterns and edges, clings loosely to her body in all the right places. And it if I weren’t for the elongated ears and wings coming out of her back, she could’ve passed off as a human. Or a cosplayer.

“I hope you don’t mind that this mission comes from my behest, as much as it is one of mutual goodwill,” Queen Titiana smiles. “But I’m afraid that the matter at hand requires human hands, as I cannot spare any of my kins’ own.”

“Without going into too much detail, I helped the fairies with a deadly threat. Titiana must spend four months of every year aiding the Task Force, specifically me. Her appointed time has come for her to return to the fairy realm, and I want you to accompany her and help with the problem.”

Victoria raises her hand. “And what exactly is the problem?”

Alger grimaces. “Missing children in Kentucky. And the evidence we have is pointing to the fey being responsible for the kidnappings.”

Titiana sniffs. “We have not entertained a foundling in our halls for the last century. Nor do we desire to, no offense intended. We are not guilty of this accusation.”

>Starting time, evidence, descriptions of the children.

Alger flips to a slide on the big screen. A rough timeline appears, with portraits of nine children aged six through ten popping along the dates. “We estimate that the earliest kidnapping was…here. Beginning of June. There could be more, but we can definitely mark this one as a definite involvement with the demonic, and everyone after.

“Magnetite scanners deployed on-site have registered the lingering residue as belonging to that of the fairies. Damning evidence number one. And it really didn’t help when King Oberon refused to let our agents enter to investigate.”

“You of all people should know how much we value our sacred lands,” Titiana admonishes Alger with a wagging finger. “Would you want a stranger to trapeze about, knocking about your home with mystic relics being turning over every single possession like you were a thief?”

“Not helping your case, Your Highness.”

>Investigate on the fairy side, etc

“According to the higher ups, they want you to make the kids your top priority. Determining whether or not the fairies are innocent is only a secondary objective. In their eyes,” He quickly adds. “I would personally try to do both, at least.”

The smile on Titiana’s face could have frozen hell over twice over. You shiver in your seat.

>Rogue fey, who could benefit, patterns, etc.

“That possibility of rogue demons has been brought up by the Think Tank,” Alger slowly says, “As well as a possible third party wanting to sour our relationship. And as much as my gut says third party, the top brass want to see evidence of that. We’re only working off of what limited information we were able to get. That’s where you come in to fix that.

“And the kidnappings themselves are seemingly random, with little rhyme or reason behind each disappearance. The only pattern we’ve been able to discern is that the victims all live within walking distance of a forest.

>Fey that don’t serve the kingdom, done in secret

“Most fairies of the world owe some deference to King Oberon and Queen Titiana, but the main members of their kingdom are predominantly European. It isn’t too hard to find a demon that serves outside of the kingdom, but getting them to actually talk, or know anything about the missing children, is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Tight-lipped folk, they do know how to keep a secret.”

Titiana smiles in a coquettish fashion towards your commander.

>Significant fairy presence outside of fairy court
“To a certain extent, yes there is, across a majority of North America, West Europe, and some other small parts across the world. It helps that western fairy tales are the ones that are still most-often told today to young children. Not to mention every English teacher trying to shove Shakespeare down your throat like a suppository-”

Judging from the vehemence of his voice, it seems to be a persona issue. You decide to let him finish his rant about the unnecessary nature of Shakespeare in public education before he returns his attention to you.

After clearing his throat and trying to hide the slight flush on his cheeks, Alger says, “Anything else? I want you heading to Kentucky by sundown. Might have to stay at a motel if the traffic’s bad.”

In the interest of maintaining the positive outlook Alger has on the five of you, you (wisely) keep your mouth shut about the enigmatic mystery of High Pixie’s kimono. As much as the question is burning a hole in your pocket, you can just ask Titania about in en-route to Kentucky.

But no matter what happens, you will have the answers. Why is a European demon wearing Japanese clothing? You won’t be able to sleep well at night until you have the knowledge in your hands.

“No, sir,” You reply. “I think we’re done here for the most part.”

He nods. “Excellent. Head off to the quartermaster to get your supplies. I’ll prepare Titania for the journey while you gear up. You should have authorization to get some of the neater things from the armory now that you’re no longer a Rookie Squad.”

You smile. “Thanks, Commander.”

“No need to thank me. That’s all on your shoulders. Remember that as you continue your duties.”

>The five of you head off to the armory.

One elevator ride, three fingerprint scanners and a sealed door later, and you find yourself standing in front of the Armory. It certainly lives up to its name, and unlike the one at Camp Cocytus, there’s a whole lot more goodies available for you to select from. Armor, special bullets, and even what looks like magical stones of some kind sit innocuously on the shelves.

Manning the desk, a pale woman with her feet kicked up on the desk lounges about, perusing through a firearms magazine. The white suit she wears makes a stark comparison to the gunmetal hallway.

But the feature that strikes you must is the white hair, flowing down her shoulders all the way down to her lower back. And her blue eyes, just as enigmatic as winter's ice...

Upon your entrance, she sits up from her chair and snaps her fingers. “Jonah,” She calls with a coquettish voice, “We have customers. Stop being a recluse and…no, don’t carry that many…”

At the sound of numerous metal boxes crashing, she throws her hands up in the air and turns to you with a small grin on her face. “Ah, young men…so impulsive and brash. What can you do?” She whets her lips with a flick of her tongue and coughs before continuing, “So you’re Alger’s new squad. Carina, right? Congratulations on getting that first case done. Nasty thing, an Each-Uisage is, especially being as underequipped as you had been.

“Still, life is full of mysteries and unexpected twists and turns, like your shark turning out to be something a little more powerful than a Kelpie. So I’ll let you have one as a freebie since it’s your first time here, kids. You can call me Miss K.

“When my young protégée decides to pull himself from the mess he’s made in the back, you can call him Jonah. I’m in charge of the Task Force’s armory here for the East Coast, and it’s me and my unseen crew’s job to keep the guns firing at the demons. It’s a pleasure to meet you all.”

“It’s nice to meet you,” You politely reply, offering a hand. “Adrian Brown, de-facto leader of Squad Carina.”
She smiles as she takes your hand in hers and shakes it. Her skin, especially those around the fingertips and palm, have calluses along them. “Nice to see someone with manners. A rare commodity in this day and age.”

>All of you take turns introducing yourselves.

“It may sound like a stupid question, but what do you have do offer for us?”

Miss K’s grin widens. “There aren’t any stupid questions. Only unasked ones and those too afraid to ask them. And you’d be surprised when I rattle off my inventory. Most people think I only have guns behind the counter.

“I’ve got everything that a Devil Summoner could ever need to take on the armies of hell itself. Body armor, melee weapons, elemental bullets, and even magical attack stones. Depending on my stock at the time, I could even have some really good stuff that’s non-regulation.”

You frown. “What about recovery items? Like…Life Stones and first aid kits?”

She waves her hand dismissively. “You’ll want the room across the hall. In here, we only deal in things that deal damage, or keep us safe from it. Not much here in the ways of preserving life, Brown.”

“Ah. Thanks for that. And if you don’t mind me asking…”

“Hmm?”

“What’s the ‘K’ short for?”

“Just a nickname. Don’t worry too much about it…unless you want to,” She smiles. “But you’ll have to get to know be better first, okay?”

Brady coughs fiercely behind you, and you can feel Victoria’s frown on your back. Even MacKay seems to be unnerved at Miss K’s…eccentric attitude, but then again. That’s just MacKay. Fitz doesn’t seem to care beyond the guns, at any rate.

“So you mentioned the Each-Uisage earlier, right? What kind of ordinance would be right for something like that?”

Miss K ducks underneath the desk, and pulls out a magazine loaded with bullets. A few manipulations of her hands, and one of them falls out of the container. She holds it up to you, and you can see mystic runes of some sort running along it…along with some kind of feeling that sets the ends of your hair on end.

“Bullets charged with electricity,” She says, and sets down another object down adjacent to the bullet. A yellow rock. “Or a Zio stone. Either works, and we sell both of those here. When your demons run out of mana to cast their spells, it’s handy to have something like these in your inventory.”

You raise an eyebrow. “Well, I had some moderate success with a harpoon gun.”

“A harp…” Miss K coughs before staring at you with an intense look on her eyes. “A harpoon gun. On an Each-Uisage…”

“He’s not joking,” Victoria mutters. “He actually pulled a Moby Dick and shot the demon with a harpoon gun. I saw it myself. And I still can’t believe I saw it.”

She whistles lowly, seemingly impressed at your actions. “Well hot damn. They didn’t mention that in the report. Mad props to you for pulling that off…maybe I should stock harpoon guns for our naval operations…wouldn’t hurt to try branching out in that direction…”

“Thanks for your business,” Miss K crows as she hands you the items you requested. Standard Task Force Body armor, the weapons you’ve been trained to use, and the items you bought from her just now. You divvy up the bags between the five of you. “Happy hunting!”

“…”

You blink, and suddenly he was there when there was only air. A small boy with tan skin who only comes up to your sternum. In his hands, he has a combat knife, which he presents to you, sheathed and hilt first. “Don’t forget to take this.”

“…thanks…Jonah,” You respond, belatedly attaching his name at the end. At least, you hope it’s the boy Miss K mentioned. It seems to be the most logical conclusion.

The five of you quietly make your exit, doing your best to ignore Miss K squealing over how cute her protégée is and how mild-mannered and polite he is to customers. No such luck. The metal hallways echo something awful, and her energetic voice only reverberates even more as you continue walking.

>You eventually reach the Quartermaster’s Depot.

In a stark contrast to Miss K’s armory, the waiting room is neat and devoid of any sort of dirt or dust. From the way it’s designed, it maximizes storage efficiently without sacrificing comfort for the ‘customers’ or for the staff on hand. Speaking of which…

“Welcome to the Quartermaster’s Depot!” A bright voice calls from behind the desk. The girl working behind the counter smiles, tossing her blonde hair back with a slight flick of her neck. Underneath the nurses’ scrubs draped over her shoulders, a red blouse does nothing to hide her cleavage…and you promptly decide to bring your eyes up towards hers. What a lovely shade of brown.

If she noticed, her face didn't betray any emotions, and her voice retained that same bright and bubbly inflection. “My name’s Elena Salzar, and I’m on duty this afternoon. You guys…I don’t recognize you. But at any rate, it’s nice to meet you!”

MacKay does a discreet job of stepping on Brady’s toes to get the Englishman’s attention away from the clerk’s noticeable assets. And the hacker seemed to have the decency to look somewhat mortified without giving away too much of what he’d been doing before.

But you digress. At any rate, Elena seems to be more straightforward and certainly less enigmatic than Miss K.

You smile. “Nice to meet you, too. I’m Adrian Brown, and me and my friends are part of Division IV. Carina Squad.”

>You all take turns introducing yourself.
>You take a moment to give Brady the stink eye when he calls out your bad grammar.

Elena nods. “Oh, I see. Well, I’m sure that you’ve heard your fair share of congratulations already, so allow me to formally welcome you to requisition privileges! Both here, and in Miss K’s armory, you’ll be able to supply yourself with all the things you could ever need on your missions.”

You take a brief look at what’s behind the desk. Shelves upon shelves of bottles, packages and miscellaneous goods line the area. In the distance, a robed workers (pharmacists, you assume) make the rounds, cataloging and restocking the supplies as they go about their business.

“So what exactly do you offer here? I can’t imagine that agents regularly carry cephalexin to get rid of the Blight ailment in the field. Or intravenous injections to get the blood flowing after being hit with Frost. That would be a prescription nightmare of unmitigated proportions.”

Everyone else stares at you as if you’ve grown a second head. Not Elena, though. Her eyes widen in surprise. “Oh, no they don’t! What we offer here are more for field agents such as yourselves, to be used without formal training. While the infirmary may request supplies from us, they draw their equipment from a different stock separate from ours. But…I’m quite honestly impressed that you're so well-informed about antibiotics and medical treatment.”

You shrug. “I just finished my third year of med school when I had my initiation with the Task Force. That might be why.”

>>
>>46408165

“Well, that would certainly explain it!” You didn’t think it was more possible for her smile to get brighter. If her smile widened any further, you’d be worrying about getting blinded. “It isn’t often that we get individuals with a medical background here. You’re certainly a welcome addition to the Task Force, Mister Brown!”

You’d love to stay and chat a little bit more about the finer points of medicine and its mutual coexistence with the demonic (you’re still a little sore about healing magic), but you’re burning daylight. Not to mention the fact that your teammates are gradually getting more lost as you continue talking.

“I would love to stay and talk some more, but I’m afraid we’re on a tight schedule…” You trail off. “And my boss is gonna have my hide if we don’t skedaddle on out of here.”

Elena flushes red, then laughs sheepishly. “Oh, I’m so sorry! Well, let’s get down to business then, shall we?”

>You have 300 RP.

“We also include bundle deals for those that need to undergo rapid deployment!” Elena adds.

Kaz here. Those first aid kits are a part of the Delaware safehouse. Meaning if you didn't use it, it went back to storage for the next time an operative had to go to use it. Sorry about the confusion.

>Purchase confirmed!
>You have 5 RP left to spend!

“Thank you very much for your purchase,” Elena says as she hands you your receipt. “Your items will be packed and ready to go by the time you’re about to head out into the field. And just make sure that all the numbers add up so that there isn’t any confusion, alright? I’d hate to see some kind of error inconsistency show up."

"Understood," You reply. "Thanks for the heads up."

You all thank her and politely file out, still struggling to maneuver around the hallway with Miss K’s items. If you’d known about this packaging service earlier, you would’ve definitely had her do the package deal. Why didn’t she mention that before? Maybe the armory didn’t have that as a standard feature?

With a sigh, you set your kit down and reach into your pocked for the Quartermaster receipt. You’ve always been a stickler when it comes to numbers. Comes with the burden of student loans (which the Task Force is conveniently paying for), not that you’re complaining.

You go over the numbers, making sure everything came out alright. You triple check just to make sure, and there isn’t a mistake. What is there, however, is something scrawled on the back of the paper Elena handed to you. Frowning, you flip it over to reveal, in fluid hand writing:

>Call me!
>4508328587

…you can’t wait for the mission to begin.

The_Observer: We are now ready to begin the first trials of phase two.
The_Observer: I have set up the necessary variables and prepared a stable control.
The_Observer: Multiple iterations at the same time for maximum efficiency.
Caesar: There’s no way in hell that we won’t get noticed.
Caesar: Something like this on a mass scale? In such a short amount of time?
Caesar: Alger’s gonna know that it’s us for sure.
Caesar: I just got another update from my source.
Caesar: He’s been digging into the archives like his life depended on it.
The_Observer: To a certain extent, our work does have an impact on his life.
The_Observer: Whether or not we succeed or fail, the result still threatens him.
The_Observer: But we have little time to dally around with.
Caesar: Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines.
Caesar: Our clients have no idea about how sure we want it to be a stable product.
Caesar: Remember the last time we tried it?
The_Observer: That resulted in Alger’s mortal enmity.
The_Observer: And a mobilization of Devil Summoners not seen since World War II.
The_Observer: I’m an ancient entity, not some mentally-addled twit.
The_Observer: If I can still remember your progenitors, then I can certainly remember the events of ten years ago.
Caesar: No need to remind me.
Caesar: I’ve never been to ‘nam, but I’m getting the flashbacks.
Caesar: That was one hell of a bad time.
The_Observer: Clearly you need more mental training.
The_Observer: May I suggest the Lilim?
Caesar: And risk having them suck me dry?
Caesar: No thank you.
Caesar: I like my soul where it is, thank you very much.
The_Observer: An odd statement considering you don’t have one.
Caesar: I resent that statement.
Caesar: I most certainly do have a soul.

(cont.)
>>
>>46408971

Caesar: It just happens to be almost as black as a demon’s.
Caesar: Oh, wait. You don’t have souls.
The_Observer: Amusing. Now unless you have nothing else to report.
Caesar: Sparda is investigating something out in the Bermuda with Division One.
Caesar: Alger is sending his latest promoted squat to the fairy realms.
Caesar: Something kidnapping kids, something proving their innocence.
The_Observer: An odd case of how we have nothing to do with it.
The_Observer: Nor do I care in the slightest as long as Alger is far away from us.
Caesar: Amen to that.
The_Observer: I wish to have results for our clientele as within the end of the month.
The_Observer: We must start within the hour.
Caesar: …
Caesar: Alea Jacta Est.
The_Observer: ‘The Die Is Cast’. Quoting your great progenitor, are you?
Caesar: Not that far removed, goodness no. Distant relative is all.
Caesar: Still, it is a fitting epithet considering what’s going to happen.
Caesar: There’s no turning back. No stopping now.
The_Observer: Shall this be our Rubicon? Or humanity’s as well?
The_Observer: Even I cannot chart the sure route of our futures.

Was the doc talk going to happen anyway or did you add it in? We're we always going to get her number?
>>
>>46412353

At the request of "talk med nerd to her", I just threw that in there. Certainly made a good impression at any rate. And besides, who's to say that she's interested in that kind of thing? As far as you know, it could just be the start of a very productive and friendly relationship with an operative with a medical background.

As for getting her number, that was certainly a byproduct of knowing your medicine and saying you're a med student. Probably wouldn't have happened in any other situation, barring another (bullshit) Social Roll.

>>
>>46412627
So you're saying she is either a little hot for us, wants us to keep an eye out for rare healing reagents for her(side quest ho!) or both?
>>
>>46412664

When I drafted the first concept for this whole quest back in December last year, I had no intention of making Adrian (or Adrianna, if you picked a female protagonist) some kind of harem protagonist.

The dice gods of /tg/ trolled me once more.

>>46412720
Yes.
>>

>The dice gods of /tg/ trolled me once more.
We can reject YVHV all we want, but we can't reject the RNG. Even the The Great Will cannot overcome it.

>I need you to pick up some magnetethyline.

>why me?

We're still not a harem protagonist. We're not stupid, just stupidly good with the ladies SOMEHOW.

>>46413091
That worries me. The Maiden, Matron and Crone resemble Mia, Petra and Amelia a lot.
>>
>>46413274
>That worries me. The Maiden, Matron and Crone resemble Mia, Petra and Amelia a lot.

Trio's of Goddesses are common in many mythology's. Norn, Clothos and her sisters, etc. We've already learned that the three we are dealing with is some Neo Paganism one.
>>
>>46413341
They also say they are old. Really old. What if the trio had a falling out? What if these are their shadows/echoes from across the multiverse like plane?
>>
>>46413274
>>46413341
>>46413361

I will occasionally reference the other SM/tg/ quests that we have going on at the moment, but other than that, there's no direct correlation with the Trio from Moloch's quest. Any parallels you see are purely coincidental.

Just like you mentioned earlier, these are goddesses of Neo Paganism.

Are you familiar with the story of Black Maria?
>>
>>46413361
While it is possible that this quest and London are connected in someway through some kind of universe bullshit, I'm pretty sure unless Kaz and Moloch wanted to have a cross-over, they would like to keep their series separate.
>>
>>46413361
Well for one I am pretty positive London and 666 aren't crossing over, multiverse or no. Kaz wants to do his own thing.

And two, London's Trio aren't demons. They are human Gods and they don't need worshippers like Adrian's Nightmare girls. London Trio keep their existence a secret.
>>
>>46413411
I am not

>>46413411

>>46413653
Nah Lucy is to in love with him/herself to marry us. We might be made best man at the ceremony though.
>>
>>46413411
Decided on anything regarding Demon Fusion yet Kaz?
>>
>>46413500
You need to turn off your swag, uninstall all of your software, restore your computer to factory settings, remove the hard drive, smash your computer and evacuate the country. It's our only hope now to escape from all the ladies.

>>46413754
Still on the fence IRL. Maybe we'll try doing a round of demon fusion for the next session, as a sort of crapshoot to see whether or not it works. If everything goes to shit, we can always blame Mido.
>>
>>46413754
I hope he does since he fluffed it already.
>>
>>46413928
If I could offer some advice, don't use a calculator. It would work if we were fusing every 5 minutes like games, but if we do it here we wouldn't make much progress.

Just come up with fusion results for
Centaur - Gryphon
Centaur - Naphaea
Naphaea - Gryphon
That you think are appropriate

>Implying we'd fuse High Pixie.
>>
>>46413928
So what you're saying is we've already initiated the overswag by accident, and may indeed get covered in bitches like Sparda or Dante?
>>
>>46413929
As long as he doesn't use unique demons as fusion results, it might work. Though that is pretty limiting, specially when you get higher levels.

Besides getting those unique demons to fight for you by dealing with them on a personal level if much more interesting, like what Alger did with Titania and what the cast of London did with every demon.
