You are a small centipede-child born not even yesterday. You explored the tunnels of your new home and narrowly avoided escaping an encounter with a large worm-woman who has taken it upon herself to ensure your safe return to your equally large mother.

To your surprise, your mother was not in the alcove you were born in. Rather, while you were being escorted your mother apparently snuck up behind you. Apparently Shelibpop's presence was unwanted, as they then began a shouting match of near unintelligible accents.

"Mutter!" you shout with joy. "Ist gut to find you, Shelibob… bup… bop?"

They stare at you in silence for a moment before you continue.

"Anyvay, she ist bringing me home to you! She ist nice und telling everything about shentipedes und vorms und hunters und dwarfs und-"

"Ah, vell… SHEN-tipedes. Ja… That ist gut. Vhy don't ve come inside and she can tell me all about your adventure and vhy she needed to come to our home vhile I get to feeding you kinder, hmm?"

Shelibpop pales a little. Across her whole body in fact. Is she slimier now?
"Um, ah, well… ?" she begins to stammer.

"Ja, you should come inside!" you say while pulling on her arm and prattling on to your mother about every thing that happen since you left.

While you settle yourself and your guest in your mother gathers up your siblings from around the nest and brings out dinner.

At the sight of dinner, a large and vaguely humanoid beetle, your guest emits a quiet whine. Immediately after you finish your story and before you get to confer with Shelibpop your mother speaks up.

"Ve are CEN-tipedes, Francis, und she ist a vorm who ist vorried about being too close to the venomous hunters that ve are. She needn't vorry though, ve have plenty of food now."

"Sho you are-ahn't going to eat me?! What about the kidsh?"

"The kinder?"

"Yesh, I… alwaysh heard… you were… cannibalsh." The last word almost comes out too fast to catch.

"Cannibals?! You think I vould eat mien kinder?!"

"You don't?!"

"No! No! Ve starve for months months vatching them! I vould never!"

"Never? What about the shtoriesh?"

"Vell, ve, um, sometimes, vhen ve are starving while cleaning the eggs… if a predator comes ve vill eat the eggs und run…"

"What!"

"Ist not a gut time… Gut mutters make gut nests safe from predators."

Well, now's a good chance to meet your siblings who apparently could have been killed any time before they hatched.

Chewing through a mouthful of beetle man, you scan your siblings before settling your sights on what has been following you all day, losing all interest in anything related to family.

You crawl right over Shelibpop's tail (she doesn't seem to notice) and come face to face with her smaller clone.
