Alright, so this is the 7th story of the OPMUQ so far. I usually like to keep these threads self contained so anyone can enjoy them, though there are often some references to older threads thrown in.

You are Gale Graves, an elf trickster who uses his magic to fill the lives of others with misery. Recently however you have been contacted by an old lover, turns out you're a father. Lots of planning and preparation has lead to this day, the day your daughter Elizabeth will be visiting you for the first time. You're not exactly sure what you plan to do today, but one thing is for certain, you will show Elizabeth you are the greatest father a young half-elf could ask for!

There is a knock at the door to your mushroom home. you answer it to find the young Elizabeth, no older than 9 from the looks of it, though you can never be too certain with half elves. Her mother, Karen, stands next to her and hands you a list of approved activities. You smile and wave goodbye as Karen leaves. Elizabeth is very nervous and quiet as you close the door and burn the list of activities.

"Alright Elizabeth, what shall we do today?"

"I want to see horses." She responds.

For any new comers, as a magic user your powers are practically infinite but also extremely unreliable.
> You can use magic to do pretty much anything.
> Attempting to use magic requires a write in command and a roll of a d2
> 2 is a success
> 1 is a backfire
(Alternatively I will also accept the old d100 system)

And Finally, I do have a twitter if that’s your kind of thing.

If anyone has any suggestions for how to run these quests better or has a recommendation for future story lines I would appreciate it.

Last week the only suggestion was to include a companion character to stop the players from not giving a shit about anything. Let's see if Elizabeth can fill that role.

In addition I may miss some requests, if I do, please feel free to try again, I don't consciously skip commands without acknowledging them, if yours got missed its probably because I planned to use it but forgot, or just didn't see it.

"Horses? We can do better than that!" You give a smile while you begin to cast a spell, throwing in lots of unnecessary sparkles. Elizabeth watches with a wide smile as a creature begins to materialize. The smile quickly fades as the horrifying thing comes into view.

It looks comes out wheezing and dripping blood from parts of it's chest that have been torn open.

The creature begins vomiting up rainbows and blood. Elizabeth screams.

>>46182425
"No no! Don't scream, look over there! Horses doing their natural horse things!" you say, pointing to a window. As she turns her head you cast a spell to create illusions of a horse.

As the image takes form you see a horse lying on the ground. Elizabeth seems happy, but you soon realize the horse is in pain, with a broken leg. Wait a minute... that's your neighbor's horse they put down the other day... oh no...

Your memories continue to play out as the image of your neighbor forms, walking over with a bow and arrow, pointing it at the horse. Whispering to it, telling the horse it will all be okay. Elizabeth watches in horror as the unicorn vomits another bloody rainbow.

"Okay, that's enough of that." You say as you grab Elizabeth by the hand and teleport into a big arena where at the center, horses are racing each other. Elizabeth tries to get to a point where she has a good view, but the crowd isn't letting her through.

She tugs on the clothes of one of the viewers and asks if she can have a spot, but they just laugh, going back to hanging over the rails, shaking their tickets violently and shouting at the horses below.

You walk up behind Eizabeth, your superior elf height giving you a good view of the field below. You're surpised by how few horses there are. You know how to fix this though, you'll just have to open a portal to the plane of horses.

With a powerful incantation you open the veil between worlds and attempt to open a portal on the field. As the portal forms however you notice it's not horses spilling out below, but jockeys.

The colorfully dressed little men begin running throughout the field confused. There's got to be at least 80 of them down there now.

"Huh... neat" You say to yourself.

"What is it? I can't see!" Elizabeth says.

You turn to the crowd and hold your arms out, they begin to part, mumbling with confusion and letting young Elizabeth through. As she finally gets a good view she looks up at you.

"Can we get closer?"

>>46182950
Not one to let your little girl be disappointed, you immediately begin to cast another teleportation spell. You grab her hand and you both appear standing in the stadium... directly on the track.

You look up and find a horse is seconds away from running straight into you and Elizabeth.

The horse doesn't quite go where you want it to though, as it goes about a foot above your head.

>>46183283
Luckily right before the horse hits you, you cause yourself and Elizabeth to become incredibly dense, causing the horse to land on you and fall to the side, throwing the jockey off but causing no harm to you or your kid.

>>46183348
Seeing another horse coming up quickly you cast a spell to make you and Elizabeth intangible to horses and strangers for a few minutes.

As you complete the spell you feel a falling sensation come over you as you sink through the ground and free fall downward. You can hear Elizabeth close by screaming.

As you open your eyes you are bouncing around harmlessly. Elizabeth is safe as well, if a little terrified.

>>46183958
You're glad to be safe and all, but you STILL haven't given Elizabeth a proper horse to see. You decide it's time to start conjuring horses from other worlds.

As you open up a portal, a horse covered in black cloth with a sword strapped to it's back steps through.

"Look Elizabeth! It's ninja horse!"

"Where?"

You look back... ninja horse has vanished without a trace.

>>46184014
"Did I say ninja horse? I mean lollipop!"

You conjure a beautiful looking rainbow lolipop in your hands and hand it over to Elizabeth.

She puts it in her mouth and immediately spits it out.

"This tastes like horses smell!" She shouts.

"Oh yeah, it's possible... too many horses on the mind while casting that last spell... sorry." you apologize.

"I don't want to see horses anymore Mr.Graves, can I go home?" Elizabeth asks, tearing up.

You tell Elizabeth that you're gonna make sure that today is gonna be great, you just need some time to take care of things.

You conjure a promising dwarf comedian you've heard of before, Bethin Laughinghammer. You do the summoning behind the castle, where Elizabeth can't hear you, so you can explain the situation to him and he's eager to help.

>>46185097
With that you crate a massive stage with beautiful pyrotechnics and sparkles as Bethin appears in front of Elizabeth. She claps excitedly.

As he begins telling some kid friendly jokes that have Elizabeth in tears of laughter rather than fear, you walk over to the house to check on the unicorn you left in here.

You begin your banishment spell as you open the door, but have to stop mid casting in shock, as you find the unicorn's severed head nailed to the wall by a few shuriken. Ending the spell part way causes the head and body to be torn to pieces as it's pulled between two realities. The result is a particularly colorful bloody mess all over your lovely entryway.

Looking at this rainbow mess in your entryway you wonder what your fiance, Diana, will say when she sees this...

You conjure her up next to you to find out. The blonde elf woman appears mid-sentence, and looks at you.

"I was at work Gail. You can't keep doing this."

She then looks around the room in shock. "What happened here!?"

"It's not actually that important, what's really important is you get to meet your new step-daughter."

You grab her by the hand and drag her towards Elizabeth who is rolling around in the bouncy castle, laughing hysterically.

You stare wide eyed at Hazel, who you don't think you've ever actually seen this angry before. You casually conjure a miniature horse while staring at her, which you send over to Elizabeth, who begins to jump with glee at the sight of it.

"So are you going to explain yourself or what!?" Hazel shouts at you."

>>46185635
With a bit of magic you enchant your words to convey exactly what you intend them to, even if you can't phrase it just right.

"You see, we've both been in relationships before this... and well... you remember Karen?"

"Oh, don't remind me."

"Well Karen as it turns out had a kid, and I didn't know this until just a weeks ago, when she contacted me and asked if I wanted to take care of her for a day. I said yes, took care of all kinds of planning and have been trying my hardest to make sure that I can be there for her as a father. Even if it wasn't with the woman I love, she is my kid and I won't abandon her."

"Wow... Gail, why didn't you just tell me about this earlier?"

>>46185737
This response cuts you off as your about to finish a spell to force Hazel to be happy about this. An action that if she ever found out about would probably destroy this relationship you have made, and ruin any possible chance at getting back together, with the exception of using more magic, in a way that would make it go from a healthy relationship to being more like her slave master. You decide since words seems to have worked this time, you'll take it easy on the magic.

"Oh, uh... I thought you'd be mad?"

"I mean, I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I don't know... You're just trying to be a good father... I'm proud of you."

>>
>>46185760
You decide it would be for the best to have Elizabeth meet Hazel over dinner.

You summon a chef who begins to shout in a language you do not understand. You ask him if he can make some meat balls with mashed potatoes, but he begins running around with a knife and frying pan shouting aggressively. He begins running at Bethin. Elizabeth laughs thinking this is some kind of slapstick joke, but you think the chef might really be trying to kill Bethin.

>>46185839
You attempt to change what language the chef is speaking, or maybe his entire nationality to one you'd understand better.

"Crikey! I'm gonna cook you up and eat ya!" He shouts, chasing after the dwarf. The two run off, into the house. Elizabeth looks around confused.

>>46186030
"Seems like that's the end of the show dear, but I've got someone here I'd like you to meet. This is Hazel, my fiance."

"Wow, you're very pretty." Elizabeth says.

Hazel laughs and begins talking to Elizabeth. You kind of lose track of what they're saying as you focus on doing some random stuff you've had in mind.

>>46185691
You create a genies lamp with infinite wishes.

>>46185734
As well as replace all water with mercury because frankly mercury looks cooler, and that's bothered you for a while now.

>>
>>46186137
After you finish with those few tasks you turn your attention back to Hazel and Elizabeth. You must have taken longer than you thought since they already seem to have become really close.

Hazel says goodbye to Elizabeth and walks over to you. "She's a very sweet little girl, are you sure she's your kid?" she jokes. "I need to get back to work though sooo... do you magic I guess."

You give Hazel a kiss, grab her ass, and begin casting a spell to send her back to work.

"If any strange Australians offer you meat balls, don't eat them!" you remind her as she disappears.

>>
>>46186296
You still can't shake the uncomfortable sensation that happened when you swapped water with Mercury. You decide if you were stronger you'd probably be able to handle it better.

You begin casting a spell to increase the size and power of your muscles, but your movements are sluggish thanks to the mercury. The sluggish movements may have ruined your casting, as upon completion you don't feel any stronger... as a matter of fact you feel a lot weaker.

You fall to the ground, having trouble holding your own weight.

"Are you okay Mr.Graves?" Elizabeth asks.

You give her a thumbs up and a smile.

In the distance you hear pots and pans smashing as Bethin screams for help.

With a simple charm spell the ruckus stops and you hear a voice with a heavy australian accent ask: "So how do you like your meat balls done exactly?" followed by a confused Bethin explaining he's never actually had meatballs.

From what you gather it will take a while before the meal is ready so you decide to get some entertainment for Elizabeth in the meantime.

You summon the best stage wizard you can think of to the same stage you had Bethin use.

In a flash of light the great Momerpresso Malamatartarei appears. He sees the stage and instinctively begins performing magic tricks.

"Yes I fucking do you sack of shit." Karen mutters under her breath.

"You're elves for godsake, couldn't you have at least pretended to have some respect and refrained from sex until after I was dead?"

You start trying to cast some kind of spell to go back to fix this, but where are you trying to go back to? It's all so blurry, like, something in your past was changed. You can't focus enough to go back though.

Karen sees you starting to cast a spell and begins to cry. "What are you going to do now? Erase my memory? Make me not give a shit? Is that the kind of relationship you want Gail? A fucking slave? Well you can make your own, just leave me and Elizabeth out of it!"

>>46187435
"Karen please, calm down, that's not what I was doing. I just... I just needed to try and clear my head. You're right to be mad at me, but please, don't do this, you'll ruin Elizabeth's future."

"Well even if you are right, what are we supposed to do? You want us to stick it out for her? You really think that would be better?"

"I don't know alright... I need some time to... to think about things." You explain.

"I think we both do." She agrees.

>>46187446
You focus on the moment you tried to get back to earlier. You see images of that toy lamp Elizabeth is sometimes playing with. You try to go back to that point again, but fail.

You see Elizabeth watching your argument scared as she reaches for the lamp from your memories.

>>46187470
With a quick spell you place a lock on the lamp. Elizabeth runs away crying.

"What the hell was that about! Don't you dare take this out on her!" Karen shouts at you.

Soon after a blue spirit flies into the room.

"Greetings Mr and Mrs. Graves. I am the spirit of the lamp and your daughter has just wished for you two to stop fighting and be happy. I am required to ask the permission of one of you before going through with this wish."

I could simply force your minds into the state they would be in once counciling is finished, without actually doing it... the possibilities are endless." Genie Freud begins to ramble.

Before you put all your faith in Genie Freud, you decide to get a second opinion from another psychologist.

With a bit of magic you are joined by Carl Rogers.

Karen thinks you should stop summoning psychologists and focus on deciding what to do. The two of you fill Hazel in on the situation.

"It's pretty obvious what we should do. I wish everything was back the way it was before Elizabeth made her-"

>>46189738
You cut Hazel off and adjust the magical lock on the genie. "We shouldn't allow anyone to just make wishes... Now I've made it so that nobody can make a wish without everyone else's agreement." You explain. Everyone nods in approval.

>>46188511
"Now then, Mr. Freud, you say that you can resolve our problem in endless ways? Well I recommend you solve them in every way, each solution existing in its own reality!"

The two women are quick to disagree.

"No! How do we know which world we'll end up in?" Karen asks.

"Well technically you'd be in all of them." Explains Freud.

"Like hell I'm going through with that. We aren't leaving the fate of us and our child up to weird existential solutions!" Karen objects.

"I have to agree" joins in Hazel. "We need to come to a decision, you can't just say you want them all and hope it works out. I want to solve this together."

The two psychologists nod in approval at this new found sense of cooperation.

The two of them look at you, waiting for a response. You're so stressed out you don't know what to do. It would be a hell of a lot easier if you could just go back to where this all started.

>>46188697
You try to force yourself back to the point when Elizabeth made her wish, but you can't because you don't really remember it happening. The whole event is only a fragment of a memory that shouldn't even exist, since it never really happened in this universe.

"Your wish is my command." says Freud as memories come flooding back to you, about how Karen and you had a nasty falling out all those years ago, and then your memories of Hazel being their for you. Your relationship, the way your proposed to her... As all of these memories appear you have no doubt that you were happier with Hazel... but you also can't imagine a life without your daughter Elizabeth.

You look around the room, Karen seems very somber, and Hazel wraps her arms around you.

>>46190857
"So were all in agreement that this is all really messed up... and it's nobodies fault?"

Everyone nods.

"So what do you say we give something else a shot... Karen and I don't need to get a divorce, but Hazel comes and lives with us... as a second wife."

Karen gives you a scowl while Hazel slaps you.

"Are you being fucking serious? We got our memories back, we should go back to the way things are meant to be. I thought we were happy together. Wasn't I enough for you?" Hazel begins to tear up while Freud and Carl look at you, shaking their heads in disapproval.

"You like the future? How would you like to see it!"

Elizabeth's eyes go wide with excitement.

"Are you sure this is such a good idea Gale?" Hazel asks.

"Oh come on, it'll be fun!" you tell her.

You all hold hands and prepare to travel 2000 years into the future.

You tear open the veil of time and jump through together.

You appear in a dense forest, not a house in sight. You look around confused and only see trees. Did you maybe go back instead of forward? And how far? It's always so hard to tell with these spells.

You decide it could be dangerous to stay here like this, so you decide to stop time to get a chance to scout.

You stop time with a quick spell and turn to Hazel and Elizabeth. It would seem you have frozen them as well, which wasn't your intention, but it works out.

You decide maybe you should end this time vacation before things get to crazy. While you're at it you have a few things you need to talk to Karen about.

You attempt to open a portal forward in time to Karen's home, which works, but all it accomplishes is pulling a confused Karen into the distant past alongside the rest of your family.

The time stop seems to fade... perhaps 9 seconds is your current limit? Or maybe you just messed up the spell.

>9 second limit.

Summon a stand arrow and give everybody but Karen a stand.
>>

You summon a powerful artifact said to awaken great abilities in warriors. As it floats down into your hands it dramatically shifts in direction of Karen who is still trying to figure out what's going on.

Without warning the arrow shoots into Karen's chest.

A large bandage covered pink spirit forms above her.

[STACY'S MOM]

The spirit turns to Elizabeth and begins cleaning her up and applying a band aid to a small cut she got earlier you didn't even notice during her time in the back yard.. The speed and precision of this spirit is amazing.

Karen removes the arrow to reveal no damage. She hands it to you and asks what just happened.

You tell you you want to try something and stab [STACY'S MOM] with the arrow.

There is a spectacular transformation as the arrow is absorbed into [STACY'S MOM] and the stand becomes [STACY'S MOM REQUIEM].

You can't quite tell the difference, other than the redesigned look, but you can tell the power radiating from the stand has increased to absurd proportions. You do not want to get on it's bad side.

You tell Karen it's probably best to ignore [STACY'S MOM REQUIEM] for now until it's powers become more apparent. As for right now...

Because Jojo is consistently inconsistent. Golden Experience just became absurdly powerful and could break other stands powers, while silver Chariot went crazy and fucked off.

Nows not the time for this though anon. We've got a magic school bus to ride.

Cruising down on main street, you're relaxed and feeling good.

You look out the windows and see time progressing rapidly infront of you, like a timelapse. You see Elves come and start constructing homes. Eventually you see your own home being built, and even you and Hazel moving in together.

As the bus stops you arrive at your destination of the present in your front yard. Everyone steps off the bus.

"Well bus trip through time certainly wasn't on the list of approved activities." Karen says jokingly.

"But that was a lot of fun. Have you been doing stuff like this all day?" she asks Elizabeth.

"Oh no, we also played with a unicorn, and ate brownies, and played dressup! Mr.Graves is the best!"

Karen gives you a smile. "Is that so?"
>>
>>46194576
Oh... shit, uh... do you want me to redo that last update?
>>
>>46194665
Nah.

Ask Karen how she'd feel about moving in with you and Hazel.
>>
>>46194665
Oh no, just ignore it, it worked out well and Elizabeth doesn't seem sad about not seeing the future or anything, so I'm happy.
>>
>>46194691
Did you just answer for >>46194694? That's kind of a dick move isn't it?

Anyways. You turn to Karen and ask how she'd feel about moving in with you and Hazel.

Karen just laughs. "Look I know I've been on some hard times financially, but that doesn't mean I'm about to move in with an Ex and his new girlfriend."

Hazel lets out a sigh of relief.

Hearing Karen talk about tough times gives you an idea. You rush into the house and grab the jewels the monkeys had gathered. You attempt to thank them you frankly have no idea if they're still around... Invisible and all.

You go to Elizabeth and hand her the bag. You tell her to give it to her mother. Karen takes the bag from Elizabeth and looks inside. She looks up at you with a face so full of happiness and surprise youd swear you were looking at a different person.

"This is for us? And it's not one of your bullshit " trickster" curses?"

"You know I wouldn't do that to you."

"No I don't actually Gale, thats the whole reason we broke up, you didn't know how to stop using magic to get what you want."

"Right... Uh... It's not magic, no."

Karen walks over to you and gives you a big hug. Elizabeth joins in too. Karen waves Hazel over as well, though she's hesitant at first she joins in too.

Everyone gets a little confused as they feel more people join in. You tell them not to worry, it's just the invisible monkeys.

"You know... The neighboring home is for sale." Hazel chimes in.

Within a year Karen and Elizabeth have moved into the large mushroom home next door. It's a bit awkward at first, but the four of you wind up making your own special kind of family.

You and Hazel wind up getting married and spend a large portion of your honeymokn trying to play matchmaker for Karen. On your return home however you find she's met a great man named Bethin Laughinghammer, and youve never seen her happier.

It's a bit of a strange dynamic ya, but they're your family, and there's no way you'd rather have it.

Elizabeth gets to spend her time with you, Hazel, Karen and Bethin. Plus she has a unicorn to call her own.

On some more random notes youre pretty sure that [STACYS MOM REQUIEM] has made you all heal at super human rates and made you immune to diseases.

The fire monkey squad is currently doing work in third world countries, having run-out of molotovs theyve swapped to going out and volunteering.

Well that's about all there is to say about it for now though Elizabeth did get you to promise that when she's older you'll teach her magic, so your life is going to be far from quiet.

Until then though, they all lived happily ever after.

Good end, get! And without even getting Bees involved this time; I'm impressed!

Well I gotta say, this is probably the sweetest of all the quests I've done so far. We had a few bumbs along the way, but over all I'm really with how it turned out.

Ive been thinking about taking a break from these quests to work on another one, so we might not have another next week.

If anyone has any recommendations for a storyline or how to run the quest differently, please feel free to share

So are we doing more or not QM
>>
>>46195481
I dunno. I was more giving a warning in advance. If I do take a break it'd likely only be for a week or two. I enjoy these things too much.

If the fact these things run for like 10 hours on a Tuesday are any indicator, I have very little self control when it comes to running them.
>>
Well it's real late here, so I'm heading to sleep. I'll archive this in the morning. Goodnight everybody!

How about someone who works in fast food or retail or another soul-grinding job, who comes into contact with a meteorite and gains awesome magical cosmic power?

Or a student worried about upcoming exams who buys a charm at a shady shop or local shrine or souvenir stand, and after following the directions (maybe hanging it up in their window while they sleep like a dreamcatcher, or something a bit more involved like desolving it in milk and drinking it while repeating a wish in their mind), wakes up possessing awesome magical cosmic power?

Though both of those potentially lack the human element that somewhat restrains the scope of the powers used. I dunno, just spit-balling. Regardless, these have been really fun quests. I look forward to what you do next, whatever it is and whenever it does happen.
