You're a Cave Hydra, big and mighty. However, you happen to be in a situation which is.. Less than comfortable to say the least.

Starting from the beginning, you've entered the human city of Nebroz, or rather, you were forced to wait outside its defensive walls in a huge building covered in once glowing marks. In it you've found a dwarf whose smell is that of spilt beast blood, and a Nature's Attendant called Elia, a being that's more in attune with nature than anything else. There were also empty armor shells that stared at you, as if they were undead. Later on, Redclaw, a wolf of questionable size (when compared to yours) joined your stay. Only to have you help him escape when a fat human appeared and, after talking something over with the dwarf, went away and for some reason, angered the canine.

Now, Elia is being treated like trash, being shoved into a wagon that's just outside the building, something you cannot stomach even looking at. The dwarf is behind you, unconscious and emitting foul smelling vapors from the broken vials on his body, and now, the relentless suits of armor stand right in front of you trying to stop and, presumably, contain you.

This is a very bad day and oh boy are you mad.

You roar, screeching against the floor with your claws as your limbs force your massive body to sprint.

At first you crash through the empty shells, feeling little to no force trying to stop you, but once you find yourself in the middle of the group, you come to a near halt. Arms and weight grabbing and dropping onto you respectively, forcing you to slow down immensely. But you don't let them completely stop you, and with a roar, you reel your body to the side and smash into the walls on your opposite side. Crushing anything that stood between your massive shape and the wall. But you don't stop there.

Using the momentum, you step forward and do the same movement you did before, but in the other direction. With a huff, you resume to sprint towards the wagon and gate and smash through the humans who didn't expect you to rush in so swiftly, therefore making no preparations to actively force you to stop.

Before they manage to throw Elia in, your left head lunges forward and crunches down onto the armored human, only sounds of death and right after, blood spilling out of the armor accompanied this, all while your right head smashes itself into a group of humans who were on the other side.
"What are you doing!? Save you-AH!"
The Nature's Attendant's plea for you to save yourself stopped quickly as you yourself reached out and grabbed her between your teeth. Making sure that no matter what happens, you don't bite down. You are definitely not used to carrying things that can be killed this way, so far you just carried corpses or pointy sticks in this manner.

All of this however doesn't stop the bipeds on the wall who immediately aim at you and within moments you feel sharp pain dig into your hide.

>Rush into the forest, you did what you had to do.
>Stay, make sure that no one chases after you. If anything happens, you can take a beating.

You did what you wanted to do, there's no point in staying here longer and potentially putting Elia at danger.

Taking in a breath, you turn and leg it, sprinting down into the forest while keeping your head stable. There was only one biped trying to stop you, but he fell down, crushed by your feet. you also hear the sound of air being cut from the sticks sent flying at you, but they all either miss or merely scratch your hide, only one actually piercing shallowly.

In moments, you already penetrate the tree line, but you don't stop, at least not until they're way past you. And because of that, you don't stop running until after few solid minutes, eventually reaching a small stream of running water.

"They're gone, we lost them."

Your left you says, this brings you joy as you can finally drop the Nature's Attendant to the ground. Elia quickly grasps her chest, breathing in before lounging at your neck and wrapping her arms around it.

"Thank you so much.. But what happened to Redclaw?"

"I helped him escape."

"I see.. You're a good Cave Hydra, I'm proud of you." She says, her hand slowly moving up and down your hide. You can't deny that this gentle touch feels extremely pleasant.

"What was that all about?"

"I.. I don't want to put you into more trouble than you already are in.. You're wounded!"

She says, looking up at your back, soon after she moves to your side and wraps her arm around your wound and the stick that's poking out of your side.

"My garden is not too far away from here, I can tend to your wounds there."

Her fingers feel cold, but not in a bad way, the feeling reminds you of the caves you lived in before going outside. And the irritating pain slowly goes away from the touch as well, at least around the wound she's holding. But after all of that, you have a feeling that she's dodging your question.

"No, answer me first." You reply, someone treating someone like her deserves nothing but pain in their life.

As she hears your reply, she sighs before slowly giving out and nestling down onto her feral legs, head down and arms together.

"I know Borok personally." She replies, after a moment you remember who it was and you begin to feel a bit guilty. It's the dwarf you left unconscious.

"He wasn't like this, I won't bog you down with details, it's probably not what you want to hear. But he changed and left someday. I've spent a lot of time searching for him, and I did find him, not too long ago."

You keep listening, turning yourself towards her so you can listen better.

"I decided to stay, despite feeling really not home, alienated, he was a close friend and I was willing to put up with how the city folk treated nature. I hoped that I could change him, but at some point, I heard rumors, rumors that there's a person running an.. Illegal Fighting Ring. That person was kidnapping animals and using them to fight, to death, for his own entertainment, for profit.."

Her voice trails off, you can feel the emotions dwelling inside her, in fact, you spot a tear coming down her eye.

"I wanted Borok to help me find out and deal with this, but I found out that.. He's also providing him animals to use and abuse. And I found out who runs the ring, you did too. It's the human, Noble called Kardio Belaskez. I don't know why Redclaw was so angry at him, but I shudder at the thought of what he did to him to make him so angry.."

>"Do you know where this place is located?" This you will not allow, deal with this alone.

You say nothing, instead you shift your body and get closer to her with the front of your body.

She looks up to you with a puzzled look, rubbing her eyes, and soon after that she lets out a surprised gasp when you wrap your massive front limbs around her. Or rather, try to do so, you can't really make a full circle, but the thought alone makes Elia smile and lean in against you. This is the least you can do for her, for now anyway.

Some time passes, in the mean time you've dealt with your wounds and Elia seems to be more on her feet. Eventually she stands up, clearing herself and looking up at each of your heads.
"Hisk, Horg, Harbenk, promise me one thing. You won't get involved more with this, or drag your party friends into this. I don't want you getting potentially captured and.. Forced to fight for nothing, can you promise me that?"

"I can promise only one thing. None of the bipeds I follow will know about this. But I cannot ignore this." You reply, standing up and stretching out your limbs. Time to get a bit of revenge on the humans.

"Please, don't do it. I don't know what I will do if you get captured."

"Then I won't get captured. Where is the place?"

"I'm begging you.."

"Where is it?"

She falls silent, head dropped down, staring at the grass while her hands ruffle through her bright ginger hair for a while before she stands up and looks at you, her eyes for the first time for determination.

"I'm going with you, follow me."

You don't question this, at least not now. She quickly begins hopping away, striding across the forest with grace you can only blush at, because all you do is drag yourself behind her, no fluidity in your movement. However, this isn't the time to gawk at how someone moves, you have important matters to attend to.

After some time, you are led to a rather secluded place in the forest, weird to say, but the most fitting term for this place is "Far away". Nevertheless, you keep going through the gloomy part of the forest before you smell the stench. The foul stench of what you can only presume to be death and corpses and bipeds mixed together.

"We're here." she says, settling herself low near bushes. You do the same, finding something to cover your body while you stare.

There are two wooden towers that look like they're about to break, they're not tall, just to be slightly higher, you can easily reach the top of it and the people on it with your necks. Then, in between those two buildings, is the entrance, dug into the earth and once again, it doesn't seem to be made with you in mind, from what it seems, you can barely fit into it. Just like into the Necromancers lair.

Besides the trees, you hear one more thing, water, rushing down at high speeds and echoing off of the trees. It sounds much like a... Waterfall, there must be a cliff nearby. Then another smell hits your nostrils.

Redclaw is here. In fact, you spot him fairly soon, he's on the opposite side of where you are. It will be a matter of time before he spots you as well.

"I will distract the guards and drag them away. Wait for me to return before we advance." Elia says.

>"I will not put you into danger again. I will do the deed myself."

"Redclaw is here, we both can do it. Stay away from danger, please."

"What do you mean? He's not-Oh.. I still can't allow you to do it alone with him! You both did enough."

"I did not much, and he did nothing. Let us deal with this."

You don't bother replying to her anymore, there's no point as it will go back and forth, and only with silence will you finally change her mind. Once you spot the Wolf spotting you, you rush in, leaving Elia behind.

Outright slithering across the place, you weave in between the trees, this obviously gets you spotted incredibly quickly, but not quickly enough, because you're already at the tower closest to you. With a growl, your left head stretches out and rams through the upper part of the wooden contraption. Splinters fly through the air as the human is snatched and bitten through in half. Redclaw himself swiftly climbs up through the wooden bars and lounges at the human. You can't see what he's doing, but the gargling yells leave only one idea in your mind, throat ripped apart.

Once you both settle down, the Canine approaches you, growling even though you haven't done anything.

"What are you doing here?"

"I am helping the Nature's Attendant."

"I can do this myself, LEAVE."

"That would suggest I am afraid of you. This is deeper than you think."

"It's not. The moving mass of lard is mine!"

>"I cannot care less, I am still going in, I have my own things to do inside."

"I cannot care less, I am still going in, I have my own things to do inside." You reply truthfully, whether that will irk the puppy is to be seen.

It does obviously, but at least he has decency to go in first, just what you hoped to do. This isn't going to be a stealthy approach, especially with your size, but at least he will provide some distraction. The tunnel isn't heavily slopped and there are no stairs to potentially trip on, just flat road leading down. The mining work was done poorly in your taste, you've seen the dwarves doing much, much better job than what you're seeing here. Sometimes you're even afraid to walk further down in fear of this whole thing collapsing.

Few seconds later, you hear general sounds of ruckus, it would appear that Redclaw, who's way ahead of you, already started doing his job and probably failed at staying stealthy. If he even planned for it, if you have to be honest he looks more like he'd just leg it through the middle straight towards his goal.

Once you enter through the open gates, you see the insides of this den. The tunnel turns into a huge hall with pillars set at the sides, supporting the weight of the roof while the floor is laid with shiny squares. You also spot the rather absurd amount of humans, this time they seem to hold different type of weapon. This time, the long, pointy stick spreads out into U shape, filled with pointy ends in the inside. You also spot what you assume to be Redclaw's cousins, much smaller and differently colored versions of him, all foaming from their mouths, following him as he bursts through the entrance to next part. But you spot a different entrance, to the side, it leads downward again and from there you can hear sounds of beasts, growling in anger and hunger.

>Smash through, follow him.
>Enter the side entrance, no need to worry about the humans just yet.

Writing.
>>
>>46182121
You think that he's big enough to take care of himself. Or rather you just don't care, nevertheless, you are going to be tactical about things.

Ignoring the grouped up humans that are entirely focused on Redclaw, you quickly stomp your way to the side and immediately head towards the entrance that's to the side. It's even smaller than the actual entrance and you feel how it scrapes against your hide, ever so often knocking down a torch down.

The stairs are lengthy and turn to the sides many times, which irritates you to no end, because you already have troubles going through this place. But once you reach the complete end, you are reminded of your old staying place at the city. Spacious room filled with huge cages, most of them holding animals, beasts of your kin. And this time, almost all of them eat meat and are malnourished. You see that there's only bones and bit of muscles, nothing else. Their eyes speak hunger and anger, and when they spot you, they bang against the cages, trying to rip the bars apart and to eat you. This place sends shivers down your spine, it's unclean, smelly, foul. Evil.

And the guardian of this place approaches you. Vaguely humanoid shaped rock that towers over you almost two times leans forward, supporting its massive torso with its long and slender arms that end in claws to grab and pinch. From its back, metal tendrils wrap around the air, grasping nothing and rattling against each other because of it.

And standing on top of the moving rock is an orc, holding a spear that you've seen the humans use, except longer and much more menacing. Tight black leather skin wraps around his massive muscles while his eyes look straight out deranged, filled with what you can presume to be bloodlust. He's not very nice, and you are not planning on being nice to him either.

So, how is a Nature's Attendant born? Are they devoted to a particular god?
>>
Dang i feel bad for leaving the wolf.
>>
>>46182695
Think of them more like nature's avatars. No devotion to gods directly, but to all gods related to nature THROUGH nature, you know what I mean?
>>
Kinda like the Forest Spirit in Princess Mononoke? Its only there because nature is there so they go hand in hand.
>>
>>46182798
Oh man I haven't watch that movie in years, so I can't give you an input on how close that is to that movie. If anything, I wasn't ripping off anything, just something I came up on my own.
>>
>>46182798
Yes but that's japanese, and in Shinto, the Kami (gods and all their forms) are part of nature, they are inseparable, and are not above it.

While what I gathered we are closer to D&D here.
>>
>>46182888
You are fine, I didnt mean to come across that way. That sort of premise is good though. Where there isnt a definitive line between what is part of the world and what I above it.
>>46182917
Isnt that how the Forest Spirit was in Mononoke though? It was there as a result of the forest being healthy and expansive, and in turn protects the forest?

No hard feelings, I didn't mean to come across that way myself.
>>
>>46182969
Yes it was. I guess. It wasn't really explained as I remember, but I haven't seen it quite a while myself
>>
>>46183024
Yeah, like I said, I enjoy that sort of enviornment more than others because when you have for example a god of nature, and just lump everything under that, it kinda kills what you can do. But having nature in its own right a force in itself is awesome.
>>
>>46183174
Glad you enjoy my world building, sadly you won't be seeing much of it because, you know. Being a Cave Hydra puts things into a different perspective.
>>

Nah, Im totally enjoying it. The beauty of worldbuilding is that no matter the perspective, you can still appreciate the other things. For example, when we busted out the city, I can only imagine a giant ass hydra wrecking shop with two dainty legs sticking out its mouth as it runs off into a nearby forest. ALso, the hydra is tearing shit up but has the control not to chomp our nature babe in half.
