We were allowed our own small corner to mourn our friend in the creases of these cavernous networks. Following the Arena battle;
>>46111885
we found ourselves in the seats of power untapped and yet in realizing this our friend faded away right before us.

In the holds of the Furiosa, we gathered around the lamplight waiting for everyone to make their report... " Soon we would have to make our move, the enemy already saw what we're capable of but I suppose the blessings that come with that will show itself in time .... or never again.

The din of the Salt Pit died as the crowds left the stands and the gamblers collected their bounties. The Wyrd Hunt had bested the Twin Daggers and their victory had garnered Bloom his spoils. On any other day winning 800 zeny would feel great, but his spirits weren't high at all. Instead of happiness he could only feel empty; drained; like whatever was left of Nerotan before Fleur consumed her. He stuffed the cash in his pocket and meekly headed back to the Furiosa.

Back on the Furiosa, Bloom dropped off his belongings and headed for the galley. He had told Quaz his interest in alquemy and his hesitation to start just yet. Either as sage advice or a practical joke, he was directed toward cooking. It seemed to make sense. How could you cook a potion if you couldn't cook a simple meal? He stopped pondering the merits of his training and went to work. His progress was slow. The images of the Twin Dagger fight still haunted him. "Is that the pat-life laid out for me now?" he wondered out loud. Being sired into a Midian had greatly bolstered his abilities, yet the verbal tick had remained. He ignored his foible and let the images come back to his mind: Livia declaring the round lethal without hesitation, Nerochan's arrogance, Fleur jumping in to help and death match that ensued. The dexterous feats and skilled both sides had shown awed the young mage. His awe turned to anxiety soon as Livia fell and Kaz was bleeding out. Fleur was then alone and the Twin Daggers were ready to neatly prepare for their next meal. That's when it happened. Calling forth some mysterious power Kaz had summoned a ghost. It was over quickly. The Twin Daggers were no more and the Salt Pit erupted into a cacophony of screams. That fight was over but apparently Kaz wasn't finished. It seem he had made a deal with the ghost and it was collecting its end immediately.

>tfw you hit the character limit and the thread is dying

The ghost was some Norr. Bloom only had a scant idea what that was but even he knew this wasn't an ordinary apparition. The Norr challenged Kaz to a duel. It seemed that was price for his aid. The bout was over quickly. The Norr said a prayer for the fallen Weiss before it vanished. Bloom had stood there in incredulous silence. He could see Meave leaving the stands. He wanted to run away like the battle hardened mage but could only stand there in shock.
>>
>>46158742

He let the memory fade and focused on preparing meals for the Wyrd Hunt; riceballs for Rabbitspaw, kibble for Trigger, pasta for Nutt. His attention faltered once again as he finally considered the decisions he had made in the last couple of weeks: Agreeing to take Pollen's mission, leaving the safety of the Verdant Field to become a runner within the Wyrd Hunt, and his insistence on being sired to gain the knowledge he thought he needed. That last decision was biting at him. Viktor's words finally made sense to Bloom. Being a Midian meant kill or be killed; be the hunter or be the prey. Running was already a dangerous profession, and the young mage made his chances of survival even smaller accepting his new condition. If he was going to survive and fulfill Pollen's wishes he'd need to fight on.

His thought's were interrupted by the temporary Kommondant's voice. It was still strange using the ainsible to see and hear what his comrades did but he could hear the after action report of the Salt Pit. Bloom really didn't want to be reminded of today's events or care that Fleur and Livia got a lot of zeny and equipment. "What about Bloom...?" Bloom looked up to see noone as Burkhard continued,"he could put it in his book to make it stronger or... ingest it. We're down a vampire and Bloom got recently sired. So, would that be acceptable? I'm just suggesting a course of action." The though sickened him. That vial would have been for Kaz had he been alive. He couldn't take Kaz's sacrifice. He wanted to refuse but something stopped him. The prosthetic face of Nerotan and the Twin Daggers resurfaced.

It's kill or be killed; drain or be drained.

OOC: I agree if and only if Kaz's player doesn't want it. Also, destroy my writing on IRC. I need to gitgud.

Hey everyone. Since we'll be hitting subfloors in the near future we should start organizing the squads some more. Remember that the subfloors will have a 3 Squad (15 person) limit.

Here's the copy pasta from last time.

Boss [M] Jackie (MIA)
Lieutenant [I] Burkhard (Temp leader)
Head of Guides [N] Khya
Head of Mages (vacant)
Quartermaster: Hetros

==Carbon Canines==
Squad Leader: [I] Trigger
[R] Verbal
[I] Isaac Ispie

==Rookie Squad==
Squad Leader: [P] Justin
[H] Moonsblade
[K] Nordus
[K] Jade

==Noodle Squad==
Squad Leader: [M] Bloom
[K] Nut
[M] Morat
[I]Toby_Rook

As a note: historically, Squad/Party leaders had the power to dictate the order of their party member's actions (so you guys don't need to delete posts to synchronize), will generally summarize their party's actions into a single post (processors love this), and are the "first in line" for bot actions for their party members.

With that done, for the remaining members of our crew, I do suggest that you join a party/squad (or form one, we just don't want too many floating around), even if you've hit an advanced class.

>The squads will likely reorganize into 3 groups of 10 for whoever wants in on each job. The various squads as they exist right now won't work.

... 3 large groups of ten sound very weird in this context.

15 people or so have tried to organize themselves, so it's just a matter of getting the other 15 people who continually refuse to consider any application of teamwork, mutual aid or organization to sign up and join in.
>>
>>46168196
It's more that we don't know the floors we'll tackle yet. Let the team leadership decide it. Then we'll know who we need for each job.

The current 3 teams make no sense if we, for example, need a full stealth team. Or a team of full on heavy hitters with no newbies at all.
>>
Does someone have armor level 4 or more that i can borrow to try possessing? I doubt the Salamander Armor would allow it without the Zeal cost. If I cannot possess high level armor without penalties then I might as well give it to someone who can use it eventually.
>>
>>46168979

I have [Raider Armour (lvl 3, +2 def, +1 atk)] if you like.
>>
>>46169080

>>
>>46168366
Spending the first 10-90 posts of every thread trying to negotiate and sort out who belongs where sounds like a good way to incur a headache and drown any discussion about relevant events.

And having random team leaders tell people what to do goes against the spirit of the game. So I'd rather people just signed up now, and then at least there's a functional basis for reasonable continued progress.
>>
>>46169311
It's not assigning people, it's leadership being assigned for each mission and then setting up 'we need this sort of person for this mission, they get first dibs' and then letting people rolecall into them once we've decided where we're going.
>>
>>46169427

You see, the problem with this, is we got, what, 30 or so people?

And not all of those people are going to be optimized for any specific mission requirements. Hell, most of our mages and just about all our base knights wouldn't be qualified for a stealth op (which always descend into a clusterfuck, I might add).

The CO seldom, if ever, has the luxury of who they want to go on a mission. More often than not, they have to work with what they're given. Squads at least give the CO distinct units that they don't need to micromanage and can trust they can complete objectives.

>You're too caught up in the idea that squads are to fulfill specific battlefield roles; their sole purpose, rather, is to promote organization and cooperation among players. Taking advantage of squad composition to complete more complex mission objectives is a plus.
>>
>>46164898
I would propose myself as 'Head of Mages' but really we just need to do broad strategy and mostly let our mages operate on their own. Like I recommend we try to use Sacred Geometry and Polarize to throw some fancy buff spells early on in our next floor. If we cooperate on the first turn, we can potentially buff everyone we've deployed.

300 onzes, 3000 sips. 1 sip = one drink of something, likely.
they want 100 onze of plant growth

you have 3 experiments that yours, the rest is theirs. So you have 200 onze spare of water to play with, which is 2000 sips, which is a hilariously large amount of potions, infusions and formulae.

You need to make a plant growth formula, and you need to make sure there's enough for it to be 100 onzes. The rest you can play with.

The service was small. After all, half the understairs didn't even understand what they'd just watched - it just made for good sport. So only a few people remained for whatever would pass as a respectful wake for the lost warrior. No body was left, just blood - so the only thing left fit to burn was his armor, so recently salvaged. And so a pyre was set, scavenged wood and tinder scavenged from refuse in the slums. Yet barely as the smoke rose, a splash of water extinguished the flames surrounding the vilord armor. Turning to see who would desecrate a service to their companion, those members of the Wyrd Hunt were presented with -

"My name is Grenouille. I had my dreams interrupted by visions of this armor and the death of the man who wore it. Dreams which called me to defy sanity and descend the stairs to seek this moment here, and you his companions."

Welcome Grenoille, to the Wyrd Hunt. Kaz was one of our best and we mourn his passing deeply. Would you join us in a moment of silence? Given that is all we have left of him.

" Well see here - "
Questi: I'll handle this !
Livia you murder this thing if he slips up- "

A range of quick fire questions shot at the amphibian rogue, with determination his knowledge and recognition of the events here seemed second nature, like an unfamiliar room in a familiar home.

At this Questi's finger drops, the Djinn bends a knee from the exhaustion.

" He passes." She says. " Do with him what you will "

" I just did the time conversions, and his dates match up with the events even up to the time of Kaz's death... "

" Ah... allow me to explain everyone, we maybe dealing with yet another descendant of Norr but I find it odd, I thought Norr bloodlines only extended to human relatives, this is definitely a first recorded case telling as it is... "

Dara Dara, I would like to re-iterate my desire to for 1 of the 3 Stable Power Cores we possess. When we go up against Mendelle, we're likely to encounter more anyhow.
>Request 1 stable power core

There's also an accounting error in your ledge - we have 2 Hellfire Grenade Prosthetic Launchers, not 1. Somewhere along the way, one has been lost in accounting. However, I would very much like one as well so there will soon only be the 1 in the group bank. I am the only member of the Wyrd Hunt with a prosthetic augmentation, which means I may be the only member presently able to utilize this technology. I would like to try. I think I can interface with it, and it should slot into my arm somewhat neatly.

Isaac- As Isaac was sent off to look for ship parts he got a clue to nose around for a certain salvage collector only to end up surrounded by men with black hoods and bags for heads. Isaac was not heard from after that...

Trigger- As Trigger got around to asking all the right questions his nose took him to the Gran Magazine where a certain smell of spices caught his nose. As he tailed the figures carrying bags of hard floppy objects outside of the coliseum he saw them shift in formation and began walking in different directions. He pursued, another alley, they split off again, he paused but continued, until at least the twisted cavern took him to a dead end where men where humanoid shapes did surround him and a hook punctured against his neck. When the odds started to get stacked against him, a ghastly illusion disrupted his attackers causing one of them to attack the other. Trigger lets off a few rounds killing a human and finally forcing the rest of them to scuttle off. . .. Verbal materialized after the fact and gave a bow.

Torr had seen Abdul leave the Coliseum as he approached he witnesses him get in a heated conversation with a masked figure, as he pried closer to look gloved hands disabled him from behind and the smell of spices penetrated to the back of his mind...

=An emptiness of magi=
Latvian looked sidelong at the boy who gave no response. " If it's you we should be fine "

Meave, Latvian, and Femto walked towards the empty caverns of the corridors until only abstract shapes glimmered back in the emptiness. Time didn't move forward here, and the stale air gave no comfort in time's forward march. Evertything was still, even motions. But thought had always been present.
"They will die , you know " He said.
" That's why I sent the moths after them. A few runners , a few less murderers. It is not worth the life of 10 more or even 1 more innocent person. But I've seen how you act. Send one through the void and you're already more than willing to risk it all for one. Send 4 ? I can't await the results. " He said blankly. " You want to push me off ? Go ahead, I know you won't but my being here means I'll keep trying to destroy you, the one /evil/ that continues to ruin everything I have !"
Latvian extends a hand and gives him a sharp slap.
"Don't spit on your emissaries, child, if you value righteousness so badly why dont you summon the courage to take your own life !" Latvian winked at Meave. A golden oppurtunity presents itself here ..

=Old Spice=
Durian and Morde sought out Loctice and described in smaller words the problem that they faced, " I see, so Hunters have been raiding the Underside more boldly I see. As you know , the Djinn, the Faeborn and the Humans comfortably dominate the upper parts of the Crystal Corridor due mostly in part to a victory won by the Scholomance in securing their own wizard's Tower in what is probably the safest place you can ever imagine from the Mal.

The Overside, us, tend to not want to acknowledge that another corridor exists and that would be where the monster races resided, Recently however, as the Umbral sea began to rise, the monsters have started to ascend and the humans took it as both an attack and a slap in the face. For you sea the Umbral sea is untapped resource of water, and it could mean life in the Corridors. For this reason alone Humans were given reason to be jealous of their bounty and recently have begun launching attacks ,raids, and even kidnappings at the risk of starting all out war. To do this they normally cover themselves in human food spices to mask their identity and to ward off suspicion of their identity. However this bag that you gave me is strange, you said your friend was attacked with it ? It smells nothing like the spices we know, in fact this smells mightily of the ferns and grasses that they managed to grow in the Fennlands... "

Ziegfried and Penny traced the scent to a twisted alley where various figures draped with bags over their heads stood shoulder to hip to head to knee next to each as they surrounded the two. " What do you think everyone ? How much would you think that mask is gonna pay for a Dulahan and a Ghoul ? I dunno but I'm not handing them over if Bones can pay a better rate to have em sponsored in the Salt " The myn laughed when suddenly one of them gets lobbed by a dulahan's head and a Ghoul reached out to slam one against the wall.

In the backroom of the Diet Shop, the Kerbold, the orc and the gnome were chained up against the cushy seats of the establishment. According to them, a figure with a white coat and a mask has been paying hot underground networks to gather up capable bodies to capture and send towards a contact in the Fennlands. The idea of disguising themselves as the bagheaded hunters came about recently to mask suspicion.

When asked about the real hunters all they knew of it was that they smelled highly of Salt and Fish...

=Saved by the Bellaim=
[and how learning runes in your off time is a PCA]

Graves: Like any Runner we all start to go through phases of megalomania now and again, as the FLoors mounted in danger being powerful was a necessity as much as it had be a right to those who survived. That was us so many revolutions ago. Bellaim's Basket was the group that brought us up from our youth to ready us for war. Always with the drills, the practices, always with live targets and real consequences. We were sharp, we were also children. As the seasons went new faces were replaced by old ones and only the names of people remained in our minds until we switched to numbers. He gestured towards the tattoos that arrayed the skin on his forearms. Volga's pet projects did get quite sophisticated after that point .

We trusted Bellaim who whisked us away from all those dead worlds to lead us to a new journey a new frontier. And so the order came that the best Volgon monster hunters were called to action, this time to collect. To study and to become stronger. We had a fortress you see, to contain all these monstrosities, these curiosities. It wasn't until my perfect memory forgot the first number that I had a crisis of conscience and revolted against them along with my brothers."
He looked to his tattoos, a finger running over a specific row of numbers None of them were arranged in numerical order..

" Of course it's a dead floor now , the terminus ran out ages ago, its machinery likely seized by the Volgons. However if you can imagine it, my experiences with demi-crystals have taught me that you can create time /anywhere/ if you have the proper concentration of element as a power source. In the Kismet we used the levin of storm clouds , but I don't see why you can't tap into another with a small change in the aetheric converters... "

Winding alleyways and twisted corridors that fall away into darkness. The shadows were alive. He chased phantoms, always out of reach, down another little dark path. The branching paths the veins into the twisted heart of crime. He'd chased a crime and at the end of it all the crime had chased him into an ambush. A dog chasing its own tail. Humanoid shadows, smelling of spice and a patient killing intent. Goons. It always came down to goons. Dogsbodies trying to protect some conspiratorical master.Couldn't stand toe to toe with anyone in a proper slugging match. The hook proved that. Could feel the metal tip grinding aginst bone as he shifted to cover himself, panting with bloody exertion.
"Before you kill me - one question"
The lead one, built like a hunchback and with the scars of a professional troublemaker,
said nothing. Not the most talktative bunch, then. Couldn't even get them to gloat.

"Why are you... hitting yourself?"
The assailant had time to be confused, but only just. Then his own fist became the focal point of his attention as it slammed through his teeth.
====
Rookie Spooks was bowing. Elaborately. He had a little hand flourish in there and everything.
"Yeah yeah, show-off. I had them running. That entire getting myself hooked? Tactical diversion"
It was probably hard to express slightly smug, bemused superiority with nothing but your hands but Verbal managed.
"Y'know, I can just shine a light on ya. Then we'll see who's the hardcase here, Mister I-Can't-Take-Sunlight"
Oh Spiral, what did that gesture even /mean/.

= We will find them, Pneumaether What =

The Pneumaether " The Cartographer repeats, " To begin explaining it relies on 3 fundamental facts, the first one being that the Corridors is not completely disaffected by the Mal, if anything it's more intricately linked than anyone will realized, the second is that the Corridors themselves is an empty space between space towards the next floor and yet here we are sitting in non-existent time, taking up non existent space and coming out the other side. The third thing you should know then, is that the Pneumaether Labyrinth exists as a product of those that came before us, perhaps even the designers of the Corridors themselves, and of its many purposes, only one has been quite clear to us, it's to act as a shortcut to any other floor.

Dish stares wide eyed at the cartographer.

" Those who remember or know their way around the Labyrinth is gifted with an easy time, think of it as a bypass for those wishing to travel up a whole revolution of floors or below to a Subfloor of your choosing. One requires a good group as the labyrinth is quite treacherous the second requires directions to get there. One can use this to transport prisoners for example, or have them locked up in an unknowable floor until the Mal claims them. That's simply where my services come in, as I can transcribe maps for you so that you can in fact arrive at a floor of your choosing. A warning however, the Pneumaether invites many dangerous people, not to mention the dangers you face on the other side. It is also a realm that unsurprisingly exists outside of Runner law. If you understand that, then I can get to making your map much like how I did for your Scholar friend "

=Do skinless giants dream of punch gods ?=

Nut tailed Avdol for quite some time even going as far as disappearing from his own awareness. He followed him to an empty part of the corridors and observed the red man sit down on an inch deep pond and go still. Completely still....... until after much time it seemed like the ogre has gone to sleep. But no, his eyes were open. They were open the whole time.

Meave gave Latvian concerned look as she stepped between the two, holding up a hand, "Calm. please.."

She turned to Femto kneeling to look him in the eye, hands on his shoulders. "I assure you, Femto, I don't want to push you off. And why do you think I won't? Because you've had my companions imprisoned? I've told you that you're important to me -and it's not for any practical reason you might dream up. I had almost gone up the stairs alone when I heard you were taken by the doppelganger. Would you not have done the same for anyone you cared for?
"Similar to you, I lost everything dear to me when I was very young. It took years for me to come to grips with what happened but I was fortunate to have someone there for me. He didn't give up on me, had the patience and will to help me back from the darker corners of my heart and soul.
Meave sighed, placing a hand on Femto's still red cheek, "I don't want to see you in such a place. Femto, I'd like to be that person for you if you'll have me."

He clumsily strapped his shield onto his shoulder. Then he proceeded to take off his one gauntlet and his mismatched pair of boots, before placing them in his satchel.
Barefoot and unarmed, he stepped into the puddle towards the orge. He quietly sat down next to him, facing the same direction and trying to mimic his position.
He inhaled again. His eyes were open. He had to keep his eyes open the entire time. He had to concentrate on his surroundings, on the puddle, on the non-existent space around him.

"Psst... Psssssst... Psst Avdol... Do I need to remove my helmet for this? Because it feels like I should... But I don't really want to...
What's that? Helmet or not? ...You're the expert..."

The Fenlands bristled with with grasses and lurching plantlife as they approached. In a clearing, a faint but pervasive glow of light hung above them in the form of ambient crystals and below a sea of trees swayed before a Gate.

" The Fennlands, " Golgo began, " Connects to a Floor brimming with life, a small victory to us Monsters who were so shunned by light and the humans that flourishd under it. Monsters enter there to engage in hunts and should they manage the stairs, find themselves approaching Salt Flats amongst other places. But that isn't also what the Fennlands is for, come with me "

Before them was a big field draped in forestry and ash and what looked to be a temple with a dragon's statue mounted prominently on a cobblestone yard. " The Church, and what became of it after a fire bombing. The air didn't hold, which was why the fires did not spread worse than it could have, hardly anyone was hurt, save for a Druid that got taken. Runa her name was and she tended to this forest here. So magnificent was her work that even prominent families like the Barthols took up residence close to here.. a shame that their place was also a target of attack... "

There was no answer of course. The giant was asleep. It was then that he sniffed and with a roar Stood Up and Suplixed a boulder ! " YOU SEE THAT MASKED MAN ! YOU CANNOT CONTROL MEEEEEeeeee ? "

Noodle sat in the water without his greaves on on his eyes wide as if seeing a ferocious Ogre with the power to smash a rock with his bare fists.

The ogre points. " You're with the Weird Hunt ? Did you come to fight me ? Avdol will wish to Knoowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww "
>>

"Fight? A fair duel would be splendid, two strong willed warriors fighting for glory! Wouldn't that be grand?!
But it would not be a fair duel master Avdol, your spirit has been honed beyond mine. I would need to train first, I would need to grow, get stronger!"

Even with the enraged brute towering over him, Nut remained cheerfully calm. Like a toddler who doesn't know that he's petting a dangerous dog.

"And grow I will!
Yes I am with the Wyrd Hunt, but I am not here on their behalf. I am my own man! Think not of them!
My name is Sir Walter Nut of Avolon, and I've come for your guidance, master Avdol! I am a hero on a quest! A quest for strength and glory! And you, brave master..."
Nut bends over, kneeling before the giant. The tip of his helmet touches the water.
"And you fight with the power of a dragon! The speed of a tiger!
I can tell, one so skilled as yourself must be a great and disciplined master! A truly good and noble knight, maybe not in armour, but in SOUL!
Please, master Avdol, teach me, I wish to become just like you and learn your noble ways! Allow me to get stronger, so that one day, we may duel as equals!"
>>
>>46176657
Avdol looked on , a small smile twitched on his rictus grin. " I am sorry, " he proclaims, " my mind, my body, my soul are not mines to keep, for you see, Avdol fights under the letter of the Arena and the arena hungers for many fights, many fists, many of my smiles. "

He shakes his head.

" But you, Human. I have come to envy even YOU who can brave the subfloors and resist that hateful glares of the monsters here, You who are Free to be a Runner ! And what does a Runner want from property ? Nothing ! And so with that I am sorry "

Bound by money, contracts and unfair violence... There are times when the title of 'Sir' seems like a burden, for I am sworn to live the life of a hero. But not this time, I now feel that it frees me from this unfair arrangement. And for that, I AM SORRY.
This is why I wish to become stronger. So that I could undo the likes of you from this evil. I am sorry, master Avdol. But I will become stronger... That I swear upon my shield!"

Nut reaches for his satchel. "I do not have much to offer, but I would like to offer you this piece of bread. Come sit with me, let us eat as equals!
For remember, brave warrior, your body may belong to the arena, but a soul always remains free! Remember that!
...Well, not always, a friend of ours had his soul bound to a piece of rock... Funny story actually, I should tell it some time!
But first, tell me about the arena. Your masters, the masked man... Who are they? Where did you learn what you know about the fine art of bashing heads in?

With a twist of the valve switch iridescent green flowered out from the Napalm hug and covered a portion of the field. A few courtesy shots around the square patch of dirty whined with an echo against the cool air.

And then they waited.

The Moblin clicked his watch and squinted. On the patch of dirt plumes of white fungii erupted from the dirt and awoke to the cool morning breeze... " My gods" He crooned, " I would have a barrel of what you just made- no in fact if you were to make a /second batch/ or a stronger one I would pay you handsomely for it. Well.. =A sea of Sand a Moon of Water=

Moonie got out a piece of paper and compiled his findings about the Salt Flats.
1. It was the sight of a major battle between the Order, RedStreet, The Volgons and the then named House of M.
1b. House of M then proceeded to split due to ideological differences. One was set on having humans destroy each other, the other simply acted in protection of Monster races....
2. The Saltflats lie between the Argent Sea and a monster controlled Territory called the Fennlands..
3. The Salt Flats gets its name from the aetheric run off it recieves from the Argent sea in the form seasalt clouds. For this reason the "sands" Salt Flats get to be high in Salt, Ground Seashell, and the occasional sunken ship.

Well this was uncanny. A hunter in the garb of the Order with an peerless compass pointing at... huh.
"Hey, Spooks, hold up on that "sneaking into the belly of the beast" plan". Verbal replied with exactly the same silence he'd kept up for the entirety of Trigger's monologue. Made the man a a good partner, that. Left a dog alone to think his own thoughts out loud.

"This is one odd compass. 'Cause last I checked, I wasn't the pinpointed goal of every merchant marine in the Umbral Sea - hang on, let me just...
Yeah it's still pointing at me ain't it?
Okay how about now?
Still? It could be my arms, what with the... I know Khya has that other one that finds crystals. You get Trigger Compases now? Nah. Can't be. This mug's handsome but I ain't /that/ pretty. How then?"
The past was trying to bleed into the present, the smell of blood, whirring bonesaws, surgery and research, antiseptic, metal and flesh and and and-- no. Nothing. Nothing at all. Like Dr. Monkey had said. Just ghost memories.

"Yeah, Spooks. Lt Burkhard is gonna want to see /this/. Also we killed a man. Let's vamoose from this soon to be crime scene and report back to the Lt."

I had a friend called Moore. A mage. Really funny guy, he was always cracking a joke. Our navigator couldn't stop cringing.

He was a bit sad he couldn't help the group more, but I always thought he was a great mage.

Last Floor... Hunters attacked us. Three brothers, apparently. They were strong, and hidden in the woods. Long story short, they got Moore.

But Moore wasn't done. Even bisected, he mustered enough strengh to cast an In Tandem spell, and he atomized his killers. Of Moore, only a small marble remained.

But that's not where this story ends. If anything..." The weiss reached for his weapons, and untied the rags wrapped around it, revealing the shining marble set in the sword's guard.

"This was only the end of the prologue. Moore's story carries on, and even now, he fights for the Wyrd Hunt as one of us ! A proud Runner !

Poka looks at the Reaver's Cloak, it looks like someone badly stitched dirty broken feathers and lizard skin pieces that got torn several times by a pack of dogs. She admits that it is not what she has hoped to accomplish on her first try to sew something but in the end it is better than nothing. Now the question is how useful is it, does it even worth something for someone? Maybe it is good for a scary costume.

The moblin ward is a success, the spirits and wards from this charm will scare the moblin races! This item is very useful but Poka knows this is not for her. It is much more useful for someone who is out in the wild where they can be attacked by moblins.

She folds the Cloak and takes the ward, it is time to find someone who can tell her how useful this Cloak is. But whom? Maybe Questi will know? But Questi always asks for money to answer questions and Poka is broke. Maybe Fullbeard? But Fullbeard is a knower of stories not of items. She decided to simply return to the others.

greetings, I'll repost what was told to the previous newcomer:
Its a skirmish game that takes place in a customized world that lets the players play in a world where bassicly a cthulu god is already killed the world but the players main main goal is to go back in time enough to stop it.
You play as one of 6 classes, mage, knight, rouge, hunter, and militia, guide
Mage=doing magic shit
Knight=being the tank main melee fighter
Hunter=look at bloodborne and you have a idea, lots of damage, glass cannon
Militia=modern day rifleman blunderbuss cybernetics that jazz steampunk like
Guide=healer helps the party doing misc stuff can be a pilot and have the power to fast foward or rweind time or just be a paliden whatever
Games are really slow so if you log in 3 times a day for a few minutes your good.
Below is the official chat log of skirmish, go there and ask the people your questions.

The clock is ticking, Burkhard feels it in his boots, the need to try and piece together this tangled mess of a conspiracy into something that can be called 'a solution'. But then people started getting kidnapped.

He looked at the compass on his desk, #8764, apparently aligned towards trigger but what does that mean? He couldn't come to a conclusion by just having one of these things but if he had two...

No no, this isn't important, what is important right now, more then missing runners, more then kidnappings, more then anything else.

How are they getting in and out of the Underside.

As far as Burkhard was aware the only way inside was one door and that door was guarded by very dangerous monsters and one dullahan that gave him funny looks every time he went in. And yet not only are entire groups of hunters somehow getting into the underside and raiding them for slaves, they're not getting picked up by anything, no one ever seems to see them during the act itself. Somehow, they can get into the underside, round up lone stragglers on the dark backstreets and escape without attracting notice.

And the hunters smelled of salt and sea. Salt, and sea. He wasn't sure where this road was going to end yet, but he damn well knew where he was going to /start/.

He wrote a note, grabbed his gun and headed out the door.

>I'm heading out in regards to our missing runners. I elect Hetros to be in charge in the event that I do not return.

The last of the ember's from Kaz's funeral pire had only just extinguished when Bloom heard the news. Issac and Torr were taken. After they searched the killed kidnapper, they found the compass; one attuned to the kerbold. Bloom didn't understand any of it.The Wyrd Hunt were targets. Frustrated Bloom headed out. Frustration led to anger, and with his new condition anger, that led to the cravings. The young midian tried his best hide his features and hurried to the diet shop. While the rest of the Wyrd Hunt busied themselves with some sort of investigation and getting abducted, Norin familiarized himself with the Furiosa. It was not a difficult task. Nor did it take very long. Standing at the ship's bow Norin let out a slow sigh. He had hoped they'd be underway by now and the single task he'd been given would be forgotten. It was not to be however, and he'd run out of excuses to avoid the menial labor.

"Melty," Norin said as he approached the maid, "I am uncertain if your arrival has relieved me of my assigned task of cleaning the ship. As such I feel it only appropriate I assist you in doing so."

>Begin putting together what is going on.
"Vexing. If I understand what is going on, a Masked Man has marshaled troops from the Salt Flats and invaded the Fenlands discretely, capturing Barthol Mansion and what sounds like a powerful druid named Runa the Green. Using this foothold, this same individual is staging an assault into the heart of the Understairs itself. Thus far, only monsters and Volgon milizens have been targeted. Additionally, one of the men we found bore distinctive markings of the Order. However, given that the Salt Flats was once a large battle between the Order among many other forces, it could potentially be a ruse."

"However, back when we first arrived, the good Doctor at the Shiraiya clinic gave us some useful information. Mendelle was having his people, all Volgons, set up portals 'every 5 floors or so.' Doctor Monkey also informed us that Bellaim Prison is about to sink into the Pnumaether, and Mendelle is doing experiments on anything he can get his hands on. The Pnumaether being a place where if one has the proper tools and a safe route, they can get wherever they need to without a trace. He's also likely accelerated time within the prison to give him the time he needs to perform said experiments."

"And the origin of all of this it seems, was a little project started by Firebrand Bellaim to make the perfect little goose-stepping Volgon, allegedly slain by 'an assassin,' and his ship Kismet that pioneered research into time dialation."

"Unless anyone has anything to add, I believe I know where we should target our efforts going forward..."
>>
>>46190691
"First, we recently received two individuals within our ranks who formerly worked at Barthol Manor. Persade, and Melty I believe? We need them to tell us as much as they can about their former home. If I am correct, it is being used as a staging area for our assailants and perhaps a holding area for captured individuals before being moved to lower floors. That Masked Man is also likely at the Manor."

"Second, if these bagmen are actually of the Order, they are likely pawns. This Masked Man is more than likely a Volgon associate of Mendelle, for I doubt a busy scientist like Mendelle would oversee an operation like this personally. That Masked Man is also likely someone who knows the route they are using to transport their 'goods' through the Pnumaether back to Bellaim. We need that route, which makes him our primary target."

"Lastly, there is a small matter we should press Graves for. Was this Firebrand Bellaim actually assassinated? I suspect that the Masked Man may be our mystery Volgon Officer, brought back from the brink by the wonderful science of our favorite mad Sci-Fax Mendelle. It is a possibility that Bellaim is actually Mendelle himself, but I somehow doubt things are that convenient."

"Ah right and if possible we need to know about Mendelle's, and therefore the Kismet's, time dialation machine. Anything at all."

" Compasses hm ? Well there are all kinds and they all tend to to be the second string that keeps people from getting lost in there. = House Barthol =
" Ah where to begin... Barthol was the sort of place where human adventurers would end up should they choose to Liaison or find work in the Underside. Never had it been more important specifically for this purpose now that war doth loomed overhead. Bastionne Barthol, you see, was a very egalitarian leader, believing that all creatures did put aside their differences now that the Mal proves to be a common threat but if you believed the Mal to be anything less than a simple phenomenon then to other runner factions it is simply a natural disaster and that they may be spared from if all but the right people were given shelter from it. Of course, Barthol all but proved that even life can exist in the Corridors just by simply living in Fenns and providing for all who would be in need of succor. "

The leaves crunched under the invisible haunt as his disembodied shoes left footprints from the ash.

" A shame , " He remarked, " Barthol is burnt, and our investigations of it while you were gone turned up nothing in and you say that your friends were taken too ? What odd timing, then, that these attacks and yours would be connected. ... Perhaps Ouroborus would know the connections considering that you're holding the Dragon Eater in your holds "

" And of our friend, the Druid ? I would have you look at these woods and think of her for this is her work. Runa the Green is well regarded around here, Between the Mobfords, Grisaiah itself, and House Barthol she was a welcome presence from the overside but not many monsters accepted the fact that a half Human could simply start a new life down here. We were definitely convinced, and Grisaiah was too. And as soon as that happened, someone /definitely/ didn't want her in the picture quite possibly because of her constant efforts to assuage angry mobs everytime they would decide to hunt for humans in Barthol's estate... "

He can't help but take in his surroundings in the new light of information. Someone who wished to keep the peace was removed from that same life they were wishing to protect. Justin strides forward through the ash, some of it coating his boots and the ends of the cloak dangling down from his shoulders. "This is not something I can allow," he announces to himself "If you're still out there, Runa the Green, I hope to find you well and able to pursue whatever dream of peace you may still hold."

The paladin looks up from his path of walking and looks over to the dragon statue before changing his course of direction to the remains of what could be treated an effigy. After a few steps he turns back towards their guide and calls out "What dragon is this statue intended to represent?"

Upon hearing the haunt's answer, a feeling of admiration and anger went through the young knight like a wave. Admiration that there was such person who advocated for peace and anger for people who reject that ideal. But there was one thing that stood out to him, the Dragon Eater and its connection to the Wyrd Hunt
"Bastionne Barthol.....he sounded like he was a great man, it was a great shame that such a life was ended early, may his soul rest easy. But, you mentioned a Dragon Eater,? My answer hinges on whether or not I can possess high level armor despite my own relatively low level. The entire reason for this experiment is to see if keeping the Salamander Armor around is worth it or not.

If this experiment proves a failure I have see no reason to miser the armor away and I have no problem with giving it away to someone who can use it long before I can.

However! If it proves a success then I can wear the Salamander Armor after acquiring just one more zeal. I would be loath to give it away if that was the case.

Men in gilly suits stretched out as they hefted bodies onto a metal box. it numbered in the dozens not enough to account for all the supposed missing cases but enough to have numbered this recent batch. Without so much as a warning the nautical creature rose from the water and let fly a few legs into the sea of pitch before automatic fire pummeled the lot of them in their centers.

"Okay, I've got this. I just wire the thingy to the widget, put /that/ near the wossname... and then we cross wire that section with this section and voila!"
Trigger tightened the final screw. A nearby hunter decided to slink behind a wall just in time for the demonic powercore to start an audible whine, faint ripples of heat emanating from the housing. Sparks were thrown. The head of the screwdriver in Trigger's paw caught fire. Perhaps wiring the demon-forged power core into the heart of a cursed, flaming gun had been a bad idea.

"Oh bother... Cover! CLEAR THE DEC--"

Eventually a hunter gave the covering kerbold his slightly singed, still smoking rifle and asked him to leave.

Burkhard stalked the deck, he looked at the deck, he was looking for anything left of the dead men but the hellfire had burned them away. Hellfire, not normal fire, he filed that in his mind.

Then he examined the metal boxes and gave one a tentative tap. "M. Boxes" He tried looking for a serial number but the fire had distorted the markings. "Volgon made, can't find the make but I'd recognize this sort anywhere, it's made for live cargo." Behind his eyes, something started counting down.

He walked to the impaled hunter in the deck, the Pike had removed a lot of important organs needed to live so he was very certain he was dead. Everything Trigger relayed to him checked out, the black hood with the unique stitching, the smell of human cooking spices, this was one of the men they were looking for but the chances he could help with their enquires was very slim at this point. He picked up the moonstone necklace and turned to the released hostages.

But I want you know that you are not bound to me by force, if you have a family or friends you long to return to you are free to go. I only ask that say goodbye to me and tell me that you will be safe before we part. I am Runner, as you know life as a Runner is not easy, we often have to look at doom itself on the eyes in our travels. But we can also see many places and wonders others may never witness and we successfully made a difference to the lives of many innocents for the better, despite what rumors and gossip spreads the goal of our run is still to remain as noble as we can make it.

I am a Guide, a healer and protector of the ones in need. We Guides, Navigators and Paladins protect all Runners in our group with our own lives if need be. Our task is not easy and I myself feel that I need a helper, an assistant. Someone close to me whom I can teach and learn from and who can take up my cloak and my wand after my... ...my run ends. And I.... I was hoping... you would be willing to become this person.

I saw... Summoners using their magic to summon other fairies in exchange for crystals. However I don't want you to be bound like that, you are free. I cannot give you crystals but I can offer you a home and my loving companionship. I also saw that the bond between human and fairy can grow into great power and I hope that... in time... I will be worthy of it and our bond that is based on respect, trust and companionship can grow strong become a force of good. > Poka's bid to impress the young faery into service came on rather suddenly however like most things the young fae would request that they be given time.

" Barthol was a great person ! A guihorn of honorable size ! We helped many humans, and monsters alike fit in in that wonderful home some folks like Runa and Golgo even had their start there as humans. And then through the blessings of Grisaiah, they were reincarnated into the body of a monster ! The great dragon can provide and through her blessings we are offered both food and a new lease at life. Even I was granted such a convenient body even though I was scared that I would fade at first... ah but.. that's kind of my business, don't worry about it. It's a shame though, Runa herself was about to go through a reincarnating ceremony herself when the forest had lit up, and Grisaiah itself was singed with grievous wounds. Oh it's horrible, Grisaiah was taken to the castle to be restored but we're all hoping she doesn't get too mad. Meanwhile no one even cared for Lord Barthol who has disappeared in the Smoke and taken along with all the others.. *sigh* .. if you do have designs to find all these people then.. please please find him if you can ! I know it's not easy to take down someone as great as Lord Barthol !"

The beta solution held out against such a large amount but measured at something like 2 keros- a grade lower than expected but managed to make the cut- much faster than normal !
" This is it ! It's at least 4 times faster ! Thank you ALquemist ! I know I could trust in you humans' ability with crops ! " The moblin did a jig around the farm more than pleased with the result.

Coffee still felt something was amiss with the results...
Notes

Verbal is a runner, he knows this.
Runners eat things, he knows this.
Therefore Verbal decided to go shopping for some food.
Slipping in and out the shadows, through the cracks of light and darkness Verbal made his way to the Understairs.
Wherever he looked he saw his companions having their fill of food.
He smiled.
He pointed to the sparkling meat, payed and stared at the food in his hands.
The greases dripped and seeped through his shadowy figure.
He worried for a moment; had he forgotten how to eat?
He stared at his friends and nodded.
Verbal stuffed the meat through his face and gulped it down as best he could.
He was a runner after all and runners filled their heads with food.

Is very many clues but is not perhaps not yet truly solved-fixed case. Rabbits thinks solution is out there! But is truth with bias to conclude before knowing so will not. Is kidnappers working for someone, to find-take corpses of monsters and men, then go somewhere. Is affixed with hellfire and guns.

Rabbit knows only one sort of people who use hellfire and guns and think science-cutting-grafting is a good idea.

Burkie found a moonstone and they point towards origination-floor. Maybe is guide through deep-dark pnumetheran labyrinth and Umbral Sea.

Hard case is this.

is two groups of hunters, one bagheaded who smell of salt other work with masked white man to transport and hide as bagheaded to mask suspecion. So is dupe-hunters with masked man and is strange salt hunters with weapons and moonstone-compasses.

Salt-salt-salt. Where is Salt? Is in Saltlands, little split place and site of great battle! Ended with great dragon. So is good place to hide, if you have dragon protection.

Fleur-fleur has Salt Trade Map, and Burkhard has Moonstone and Trigger has Compass. Rabbits think they all end up pointing to same place, somehow. If investigated-searched together. But is also ruse, Rabbit thinks. Must be Portals out there that people use-move with, to hide in Salt Lands and Umbral Sea, then travel through to Bellam. So is hidden in far away places for Mendelle Porters, and then all ties together. Maybe.

Rabbit is not so sure-certain.

[Noodle Representative]
Wulf's feint to learn [Scuttle] segue'd into an interesting conversation about the Castor's origin and alluded to a mention of [Bellaim Prison]. Loctice immediately dropped her work and bid the Hunter to leave the workshop.
Upon doing so Loctice waved the Hunter into a secluded food stand.
" What I say won't leave this spot yes ? Between you, me, the Mal and Hanzo who has no tongue, I'm fairly certain who to go for should if this gets anywhere. "
Loctice orders some noodles.
" A few revolutions ago, I found myself in the Underside, covered in blackwater and without any memory of where I had been before then. When the Slavers found me , I immediately found myself at the auction block as a food item. Scared and starved from the many meals i had denied them, it was the Barthols that took me in. When I found out that the then lordling had naught the money to spare I took it upon myself to sponsor myself in the Arena where I could then pay them back. It worked of course, and I had bought myself the freedom I yearned for- and the ire of those I defeated. You see back then, the division betwixt man and monster wasn't so large, and so the presence of Humans in the arena wasn't so strange, which is why I crossed paths with him, Mendele. The man tried again and again to promise me power overwhelming and yet with my blade alone I had defied even those he sponsored. It crushed his pride, and as a man of Scifact forced him out of his position as a project director for some human enhancement project. I would not hear of him or his ilk until sometime later where reports of man eaters were seen wandering the Floors, White Ghouls that could eat anything, Midians that walked in sun, and Lycans that didn't rely on the moon to transform were but a few things that sent our people back in boxes. But it looks like your people seem capable, so why not check out the Arena sometime to see what you can find out. I'm sure he still stalks it "

" And that over there is Grisaiah, the antlers might have you thinking otherwise but it is without a doubt the 4 legged Green that walks this holy forest. They say that the Dragon takes many forms and shapes but always will they have those horns... "

"I suppose a better investigation of the arena is warranted but I believe he now stalks more than just the arena these days. Based on encounters among my group it seems his influence may span a large area of the understairs."

"As you probably already know, something is happening. People are being taken below by a group of hired hunters, regardless of race. Attempts have been made on the Wyrd Hunt while in the understairs and one of our own has gone missing. Your benefactor, Barthol, those that helped him and those that benefited from his help like Runa the green are included in those who have gone missing. You should be careful lest you also be a target."

As Loctice finished her noodles, Bubblewulf stood up and stretched.

"Thank your for the information."

After his stretch he stood there awkwardly.

"Though the request for learning to scuttle was partly a feint so I could get an opportunity to talk with you, I still wouldn't mind finishing up with corpse. The parts would be useful and the skill even more so with the events I have no doubt found myself wrapped in."

Poka's mind raced with all the implications on what house Barthol has harbored and how it could be viewed from the outside, things don't appear so impossibly complicated now but this just opens up more and more question. She didn't want to force Persade to this but she cannot rely merely on assumptions and rushed conclusion.

"Persade I am sorry to make you go through this but what you are telling me is quite worrisome to hear and I must question some more.

You keep mentioning reincarnation. The act of entering into another body after death with knowledge of a previous life. That is knowledge many would be willing to do much to gain through the... blessings of this dragon you speak of. Why did the great dragon gave such a powerful of a gift to the Barthols, or any mere mortal? Was this secret only used by humans? How many people has gone through this? How often was this used? Also did they always become monster people, were monster people forcefully used for the reincarnation purposes?

With such a great secret in the Barthols' possession, other curious, desperate and jealous people were bound to be drawn to them to discover this secret, even to try take it by force or even destroy it for whatever purpose just to keep it forever unknown.

Please tell me, who were Runa and Golgo and what fate has befallen them? Were they taken as well or.... worse? And yourself what was your position in Barthol's service? A servant of sorts?"

Persade looked wide eyed and simply gave back a warm smile. " Milady, tis nothing to worry about," said Persade without skipping a beat, " Tis only part of life that some end where others begin, you see, the thing what defines monsters from humans is simply what we're made of- and we're made of the lifestream you humans refer to as the aether," Persade pirouettes his guide clothes and floats atop a lamp jamb.
" Overtime, however that border has begun to mix, not like mud but more like a mistbow, to this end, a human is very much like a blank slate, ready to be coloured and made into its new shape. A natural act of the soul when one wishes to ascend even higher than that malebolgia I assure you. The actions of Golgo and Runa were theirs alone to choose. Golgo's past was one we did not question , but in this side of the bridge he proved a very capable haunt. And Runa was a guide who questioned her path with the Order and so great Grisaiah saw fit to have her become one of us now that she has helped create this wonderful forest. And myself ? I simply got tired of Running and so in the hall of Barthols did I stay, guiding many humans to the ways of proper monster etiquette !~ and so the story goes that House Barthol would continue to do this service for a countless hundreds of souls till at last they too ran out of spirit and well- " Persade clapped his hands together, " Another merging would be needed ! But Grisaiah and the holy forest shall provide ! Such is our Great Dragon's promise ! Don't you also wish to ascend your human limits ? Be a powerful Fae or a stout Dorf or perhaps a clever Gnome [I'm sure Dresden could use the company]"

" Ah but yes... Runa... she's taken too was she.. "

About Stat " Knockup";
The Potency [pt] of a stat boosting item must "beat" the drinker's base stat+1. Should they it do so;
>Base stat goes up by one , unless...
- Base stat+1 divides into pt more than once in which chase...
>Base stat goes up by the quotient.

Trigger adjusted his tie for the milionth time, sweaty paws complicating that particular operation. Facing down an Outsider wasn't half as terrifying as what awaited him. Public Speaking. The most insidius of dangers.

"I w-was informed I hadn't share my Tales."
Shook his head, tried not to stutter.

" As if there were many to share. I, err. I killed a dragon head. I rapelled through a cliff-side to rescue Andre over there (it's nice to see him happy). Might have killed a chimera. Shot it enough times. Before all that I stopped an Outsider from manifesting. Knocked the summoner out, there was a thing wih the portal and the Eye of Yig-- and nevermind. Shot an Angel of Mal, but, well - it's...

It doesn't seem Heroic. Just the neccessary job at the time. Someone had to. And it's-- well. I mean-- does that make you a Hero? 'Cause, I ain't one. Right dog in the wrong place, s'is all.

I ain't Rookie Moustache. El Capitan. He swore he'd actually fight, to amend? Then he fought a /Castor/! Died. Knut - he saw a helmarine with weapon raised, rushed to stop the thing. Died. Border ran to protect friends. Died. Graham? Saw him tackle a moblin banneret to stem the tide. Died. Butcher - kinder than his name really - saved a friend, then burned to death by accident. Patches. Most trustworthy rascal I've ever seen. Got shanked, died. Rookie Dakka? He tried to distract the dragonhead by tearing open a wall in the cave. It looked at him! He died. Sigmund tackled Progrom, false Paladin. For justice, I guess. Died.

Moore. He died and in dying, well. Heh. Crater's still smoking now. Saved everyone really. Miss you, buddy. I had all these "bond with a demon" jokes set to go and now I c-can't share them, and-- nevermind.

They died. And 'cause they died, we didn't.
I hope the other side treats them kindly.
Cheers."

Potions will be distributed to people *before* the next floor/subfloor exploration. Feel free to request anything *but* the 9pt Earth Draught, as this one stays with me.

Unless new runners or people with weak stats get priority, or people who have plans.

Earths Draught x2
Sea's Grace x1
Moon's Hate x1
Aclacity Dew x1

I would really, really very much like an Earth Draught. I have this paranoid feeling of having a giant target painted on my back and due to my lack of physical fitness and generally wobbly spine, it'll also be very effective if I ingest it.

In fact, can I ask for that /and/ one of my Instant Coffee powders back?
Please?
I've got this weird feeling of cosmic targetting at the bottom of my spine.

'Though I can see others would also have a use for the things. Rogues, Militia and Mages, mostly.

Null sweat, science boffin. I've got a lead on how we can get more, if all works out as plan.

I reckon an arms contract with a volgon covers military supplies ya? So rations n' the like mus fall under the MREs. I think maybe I can just place an order for more coffee. Which'd be a heaven send.

But not as much of a heaven send as this tiny slice o' safety. Much obliged, pal. In this line of work you can't be too careful.

"Pardon my worries Persade, in my Running I have often seen things that give me the suspicion of one misusing others to further their goals but it is true that not everyone is so. I know not what the reincarnation process entails but I will trust your words. Yes, I do fear the reaper and the Mal as much as all Runners do believe me, if I am given a second chance after death, that means I can continue to serve and seek my destiny."

Poka pauses a bit as her gaze meets the rug on the floor, she remembers those that she saw paying the ultimate price. They never had the choice or even the chance to continue. Or did they? Poka will never know what happened with them beyond but this knowledge at least this gave her some hope for them.

"I guess it comes from the path I choose that I see life like this. I treasure what I have got now, I think it defines who I am even if it is just a pile of flesh and bone that one can give up to gain another. One other thing I learned in my Running, that everything has a price, I think even this. To me this means losing an important part of who I am, something that I hold dear. But I can be convinced to change my view of things as time passes. If oblivion gives me no other choice I would probably accept it, I think I was simply lucky thus far, and I do think others might need such a secret more than me.

Ascending human limits is a question for another day, I don't believe I have reached my limits yet, no definitely not, and to me it something one must work for every day, to make the most of what I have been given."

May I ask who is this Dresden you speak of? And what is this "Merging", this "promise of the dragon"?"

>Inquire towards contacting or meeting Grisaiah.

The paladin strides towards the statue and looks up to it, doing his best to memorize the features on the antlers. Wondering what the dragon is capable of if they can perform an act of reincarnation at will. "What an interesting creature," he whispers to himself and turns back to Golgo. He waves towards the haunt and calls out "Do you know of a means to contact Grisaiah?"
