It is now summer of your 3rd year: a time of peace, but also stress for your people as undead activity subsides temporarily for a few months and your Homonculi can safely venture through out the tower in longer intervals as the sun hangs high. But it is also a time of heavy, hot, bothersome work.

Previously: The Imp was.. "upgraded" and is now a "devil", we experimented with plants and invented a backwards compatible alchemical interface known as the "mandrake", we came up with our very first holiday, the laborers had a field day constructing an aquarium in our lab and honey producing bee boxes on the roof (much to the delight of all) and we've finally made contact with the sapient undead couple living on floor 3.

Collect Genetics. Expand the Psych. Establish your Independence. Create Beauty. Suffice the Ego.

+Current Environmental Development+ Summer 3rd year
(Cycle repeats: Summer)
Spring has matured and blushed into Summer; this has a few implications:
-It's hot, dry and humid and all three of these things in horrible, uncomfortable excess in any level with outdoor access.
-The stair case has completely dried out and there is no danger of traversing them. The pond waters on FLOOR 1 are also pleasantly full of now adult pan-sized fish.
-Most forested areas (particularly B1) have become completely and absolutely overwhelmed with insects: the sound of Cicadas in B1 are particularly loud and droning.
-The sun has been hanging around longer and brighter and as a result local undead activity has decreased significantly. Even Elizabeth has been restricted to the confined of her level.

+Spiritual Development+ The Technician who planted trees.
-With the Season's changing The Technician has begun to take more of an invested interest in nature (much to the annoyance of their familiar) and has started going out longer and longer by themselves: catching insects, fishing (Elizabeth having gifted them a rod and tackle set), studying plants and has even started taking up the practice of wood carving- producing little carvings of animals or bugs they keep in their study.

+MAJOR SOCIETAL DEVELOPMENT & 1/3 END-GAME GOAL ACHIEVED+ The Comforts of home, the company of family.
It's been a few years, but your people can say of their own independent free-will that they've become happy: They work for the community, they serve and respect their communities leaders and elders, they provide for their own people, they care and love for one another and enjoy the comforts and companionship of their own kind. Your people are no longer beheld to their programmed instincts and freely go about their business of their own free-will's and not out of some addiction to their artificial behavior.

>We need a new laborer sub-class.
>Roll 9/100
>Near complete and total failure.

Currently, Lilith has been in "charge" due to the absence of the Technician wot with them taking something of a little summer break: Lilith isn't exactly suited to lead, but she's been trying her best and every night or so she gets The Tech's advice and help either way.

She's interested in creating a new Laborer sub-class or something; she swaps notes with the Technician the previous nights and they come up with a few possible methods:
-A "Heavy lifting" Laborer class could be made and constructed- dramatically increased muscle mass, bone density, etc..
-A form of Non-sapient "Genetic Hardware construct" that could be USED in place for heavy lifting or more specific intensive labor. Small and Large creatures woven together out of flesh with a shelf life of a year or so that simply exist to be used as equipment and so forth- if you need a contemporary or modern proximily, they would be like "living powertools".

>Poor Roll however: The Laborer Caste takes offense. They are a caste of one after all.
The Laborers though take mild offense to the idea of a "sub-class"; they may be genderless, but they have the balls where it counts and they've been taking great pride in their work and the efforts they've made to improve and build upon this community.
They argue that they do not NEED another laborer class and in doing so would cause unnecessary complication and instigate artificial beaucracy into their extremely simplistic genetic caste. "We work because it is what we've known and because we take delight in it for this community- if you started making bigger or different laborers then we'd have to answer to them, argue with them, it'd cause clutter- everyone of us is a twin. It's good this way."
>The project is ultimately halted, but Lilith and The Techie see potential in the genetic hardware advancement, regardless.

>Rolling with VERY MASSIVE RACIAL PENALTY
>77/100
>INTERESTING RESULTS, BUT NOT NECESSARILY HIGH ENOUGH.

The Technician wonders about... The Specifics of their people's sexual habits.

We don't serve any sort of a master now, so why do we still have genitals, sex drive or anything like that? They've been observing Insects, Fish and other animals have have noticed at this point that SEX MAKES BABIES, but in your people there's no such purpose or reason- your culture heavily casualizes sex because there's absolutely no repercussion or consequence of doing so: you can't get pregnant, you can't get sick, etc..

>+Genetic Optomization Discovered: The Riddle of Genitalia
>Despite your people not having nipples they still have breasts and despite not reproducing they still have genitals, so why? The current models that have Genitalia are military units and research/development units: ones who need to be aggressive, cunning, motivated, energetic and feisty. Genetalia is an extremely easy way for your people's design to administer the necessary hormones and copy over unique sexual characteristics without having to do a lot of manual over-design; The Vagina or The Penis doing much of the heavy lifting.
>The One Exception is the laborer unit who is meant to be simultaneously the most submissive and entirely exempt from the genitalia ordening as it was originally deemed unnecessary to their caste and function.
>This might however be out-dated, but The laborers have not asked for Genitalia -yet- and seem fine busying themselves with work, though this may have made them a bit anti-social outside of their caste as a by product.

>Summery: Genitals provide functional integrity and Sex has evolved as a powerful bonding social practice between genetic classes.

that 20 was actually supporting the magic research roll-(partially because u dont want us to do demonlogy..which i REALLY want to but its ok)if not-can u give us a rundown with the schools of magic?
also can we give the laborers an option to pick a gender(to increase bonds/make them feel "wanted")
>>
>>46121875
Apothecaries are like Techie-lites.
>>
>>46121280
How about we make the laborers more flexible?
You know, have them adapt to their work a bit.
Most hormone driven adaptions, increased muscle hypertrophy and external ossificating hiccups, come to mind, would be relative short-term, allowing us to relocate workforce from any task while keeping the caste stable.

Guess that would be a mammoth projec though, since we need many small adaptions for optimizing our laborers in this way.

>Intense magical training with Imp/Devil.
>Roll 18/20
>High End Success

The Technician's Magical tutelage with their now Devil-shaped familiar has been going on for some time now and The Technician has gotten quite moderately skilled, but as The Techie has grown in magical power and prowess, so to has their not-so-little Devil familiar.

For the most part though, the Technician has managed to understand the basics of the following Schools of Magic:
>Alchemy
Though it's HEAVILY frowned upon within their community; The Technician is a Homonculi who's theoretically capable of introductory alchemy: mostly pharmaceutical work; brewing or grinding magical properties from natural ingredients and being able to manipulate and transmute very small quantities of chemical elements- although this later process is VERY physically demanding, the Imp invested hours into making sure their master could produce SOME precious metals (couple ounces of gold, silver, copper, or a few grams of iron, etc)

>Arcane Magics
Although they don't know enough to customize their own spells, The Devil thought it important to teach the Tech a few "traditional wizard spells": Magic Missile, Blink, and Prismatic blast- just a few self defense spells straight from the manual in case their precious master is in danger and they can't assist them.

>Demonology/Warlockry
Despite their familiar's protests; The Techie HAS learned a few very safe and simple Warlock/Demon Cantrips: Summon Demon Food and Water and Eye of Beezlebub (just a simple spell- summons a floating insect eye to scout around).

The Technician has learned enough about Magic that their classes with the Imp usually involve the following condition: "If you's can beat ya Teach n' an old, roight classy wizard duel- then ye off the hook for the day. But if'n ya lose, you gotta be a good littl' school boy and a DIRTY littl' fuckin' school boy after class n' ravage me arse~."
The Tech currently has a win to lose of about 2/5
>>

>are the gods in the second entry valid for this world?

Yes, although it's META knowledge at this point in time.

It's also only part 1, there's a part 2 I've been meaning to do up that includes the other 3-4'ish Gods.
The Pantheon is small and mostly dead, Brun's divinity has had a rough time taming this horrible, savage, fucking world.

have the amazons supervise and report to the technician if there is anything that is worth value- including information
also have a group of soldiers/salamanders and an amazon (with pilgrim if he wants) explore going north (or straight out from the tower entrance/exit)
have the pixie scout ahead and relay the information back incase there is any real danger
(we really need to focus on DNA and gene collecting, so have an apothecary unit follow behind them and have it be protected by the militarized units)
if we can spare another group of units, start clearing out the tower (assuming there are no bottom floors, go up until there are no hostile units left)

>Nearly complete and perfect success.

The Technician of all your people actually finds something themselves while out exploring the wilderness of the Forests of B1 and the Canyon Level of B2 with their trusty Devil Familiar -on one of the odd days where they actually win their duel with the devil and get to have a day off-

They find The Troll's Skeleton; The remains of the Troll that had been slain by The Pilgrim so many months ago.
The Remains are sort of peculiar; The Technician does a little forensic science as they investigate what went on after the Troll died:
-The Trolls remains although having been left to rot under the shady coverage of dungeon oak, they've deteriorated down to the whites of the bones and have begun to be consumed by a carpet of grass, moss and fungi. Very unusual, but The Technician assumes that perhaps the Trolls rampant regeneration has something to do with it's virulent decomposition?

-Looking over at the patterning and indention of the grass and neighboring foliage as well as a steady burst of plant growth following a blood trail; The Techie can deduce that the Troll must have still been alive after it's head was cut off and wandered around blind for a few hours after decapitation. Could it have bled to death? Maybe starved as it couldn't feed itself without a head and thus power it's regeneration?

>+STRUCTURAL GENE CATALOGUED: YOTUNN(Giant-Class) BONES.
>The Technician and their Familiar gather up as many of the Troll's Giant Bones as they can so; throwing them into the vat. The Technician and Lilith quickly find that the Bones of the Troll are.. They're horrendously sturdy and well put together- when they were 'alive' that is.

Lilith has been quietly consuming MEAT and other forms of excess BIOMASS (even waste) for months now: digesting the majority to convert into Mana and feed to her children, but a larger and larger portion has been stockpiled, accumulated and compiled so she may grow.

>Lilith Expands.
It starts simple enough one morning: The blood clouds start rolling in and forming on floors 2 & floor b1 and they start raining, but there's MORE than usual and it isn't but a simple "morning drizzle", but quite a graphic, explicit, downpour of red, explicit, bleeding storm.
The immediate levels above and below start to pool and partially flood with larger and larger welling up puddles of blood that eventually begin to darken, harden and germinate into patches of flesh. The flesh itself though is alive; twitching, moving, shuffling about, it begins congregating and wrapping around the stair case leading to levels: B1, 1 and 2.

Eventually the entire pillar is wrapped in a layer of red, veiny, pulsing flesh; the whole supporting column becoming over-grown and coated in that living tissue, an extension of Lilith like a root system within the tower and each "entrance" to those respective levels being guarded by a strong, muscle-clad and teeth embedded sort of orifice. The "mouth-ways" denying access to intruders or outsiders under the threat of quite literal consumption, but allowing your people and "innocents" (animals, insects, water, etc) to keep moving through.

>+MAJOR GENEOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT & 2/3 END-GAME GOAL ACHIEVED+ Lilith, The Red Mile
>Lilith is now technically as large as "3 levels", but worry not: she hasn't smothered native life or vegetation, she has merely.. integrated and enrooted herself into the neighboring levels of the tower. Lilith can now move about and assist you freely on Floors: 1, 2 and B1 without any sort of issue. She's in there like sinewy tissue between every stone.

It has been a long time running, but the "Doll" caste within your community have been pontificating long and hard about the implications, ideals and values of beauty. The attribution of genetics, the creation and design of persons, to create beauty, to create sex appeal, the conflict between design and aesthetic- and what of the other peoples? What does all this synthetic appreciation or artificial attribution of 'sex' and 'beauty' have any real meaning to an artificial being.

Why shouldn't a Homonculi just devolve to a featureless lump only driven by moving forward; eyes towards them like a predator or more perhaps like livestock with blinders on.

Art, the persistence and continuation of beauty and aesthetic purely for the sake of societal representation, the complexity and acknowledgement of the unnecessary for the sake of the development of the non-physical through the physical. Art for "Art sake", Art for the sake of the "person", Art to bolster and mature the person, the sapient and not the "sentient."

>+Model "partially" unlocked:
>The Dolls are onto something, but are still ruminating on it: they like the idea of adding a leading to their caste, one that is meant to be as beautiful as physically achievable possible, an "Art doll" to be the pinnacle of Homonculi breeding and beauty.. but they're having trouble ironing out the details, specifications and motivations- she needs to be perfect after all.

>+Event Triggered Due to Expansion: Did you think Baba Koschei would just leave you alone forever?

For a few weeks life is good: Lilith is able to freely dip, dive and slither all around the local area helping and tending to her cute little homonculi as she observes and participates in their little everyday lives, but.. As weeks pass she becomes 'distracted' and visibly more and more uncomfortable- her health even beginning to deteriorate.

Your community has finally had enough of it and a large group of concerned homonculi confront Lilith in her vats about what's been going on; she slithers up, your people unable to ignore her unmistakable Nausea.

The Technician and The Amazon unit address her, questioning ones going on; she doesn't put up any sort of a front and immediately comes clean:
"I've been eating them. I've been eating them all, but she just keeps sending more and more. It was just a few at a time, but when they started disappearing I guess she took offense and started sending them in waves and.. and I've just kept eating them."

The Amazon leans in, confused, as Lilith slumps over her vat; bloated and sick, "Who? Who have you been eating?"

"The Undead. All of them: Skeletons, Zombies, Ghouls- mindless Undead. Every Single one. I'm.. If.. If I don't they hack away or bite at my flesh and.. I.. I just thought I'd eat them." Lilith loses her composure and vomits onto the floor.

>You're going to have to confront the Undead Horde.
>You can't ignore it any longer if you want to keep living here the way you've been doing.

We're going to handle this on something more akin to a "turn based" kind of accepting rolls until the problem is solved or...just blows out of proportion, so lets go:

>We should construct an outpost to defend ourself against the horde. It will be easier to defend like this. Maybe get Lilith to help when she's better.
>Roll 15/20
>Undead Horde Rolls 13
>You win, but the Undead got the "ominious roll

The first plan of action set forth is to build up a barricade on the 2nd Floor to control and move the traffic of Undead so Lilith can stop eating them and your own people can begin picking up the slack of fighting and dealing with the creatures themselves:

Laborers gather stone and wood and begin constructing fortifications around the flesh column, reconstructing the walls of the hallways on the floor to better circulate the flow of the undead.

>Map Updated crudely to better illustrate an idea of how this is working on the level (purple is undead movement):

-Currently the Undead are no longer flooding in from the stair case (blocked off by Lilith's flesh wall), but are now flowing in exclusively from the 2nd floor; seemingly dropping from the ceiling, accumulating in the abandoned "lab" area and the "bone pits" before forming into small or medium sized hordes and attempting to push through your fortifications.

-During the day you get a steady but unorganized stream of skeletons: weak, dumb and easily picked off- usually armed in a club or rusty piece of garbage. Dangerous if only underestimated.

-During the night however entire mixed groups of Zombies, Skeletons and Ghouls show up. Zombies often having some equipment or clothing, but largely being just as dumb and exposed. GHOULS however pose something of a problem: they have large claws, can jump, climb and are extremely aggressive.

The Campaign turns into a game of cat and mouse as your people run back and forth between the stair case.
>>
>>46126062
In order
>Hose them with fire
>Pull taut trip wires set up during the day, hidden in the fires as they advance
>Shoot down those that jump, since they won't be able to dodge midflight

Focus less on retaking territory and more on getting used to fighting them, leaving no openings.

Later on, set up some chitin spikes on the floor to harm undead that randomnly drop from above

>Double, Doubles.

The Technician immediately jumps at the opportunity to help protect hearth and home; using their magics to support their family in keeping away the Undead: Raising their palms over the walls to fire blinding, horrible, rays of "Prismatic Blasts" that burn and char the undead to ash, firing "Magic Missiles" into the darkness that track and lock onto undead within the darkness before blasting them to pieces and supporting the pixies with their Demon Cantrip "Eye of Beezlebub" to scout around.

But the Technician is only one Homonculi and it is tough, exhausting work to do so much for so many: they quickly tucker themselves day after day and think to themselves there has to be a better way.

Insight comes from their Devilish familiar, "My little master, pray tell; Do you remember hearing word of that "priest" the Lady Baba Koschei has under her employement?" The Technician just sort of tilts their head, The Devil rolls their eyes, "'OU' REMEMBAH THAT BLOKE WOT WURKS FO' THE OLD CRONE BABA KOSCHEI? THAT' PRICK IN RED- BLACK HAIR, BIT PALE."
Techie Nods, "Now dont you 'fink' it's funny an Undead wood be a Demonologist? Suppose'n a bloke like 'im wid is condition would 'av some kinda relationship witta' god o' Death, roight? Funny ow' he idn't exactly clammering to that sort a' deity" The Technician stops him, "No, okay, I get it, I get it- The Deat- oh, oh,"

The Technician clammers through their study; looking for that silver and bismuth idol they had been using as a paper weight.

The Technician brings about the silver Idol; engraved and with the title of some obscure "dark lady" or "mother of the night"- they find the Statuette in their study, completely unharmed and right where they left it.
They devise a simple experiment with it: accompanied by a close guard of soldiers they wave the idol at a skeleton. The Skeleton proceeds to go out of their walk to walk AROUND the idol- completely ignoring those who are holding it.
The next experiment: The Techie gently tosses the Idol at the skeleton, the skeleton catches the idol -out of muscle memory- and.. immediately falls apart; reverting back to a normal, dead, skeleton.
Later that night The Techie has the Homonculi capture the other two types of undead and the experiments produce similar results: Zombies revert back to dead bodies, Ghouls however take some time, but they eventually begin losing mass, drying out and reverting to an almost mummified state.

All undead however seem to naturally avoid the statuette and anyone touching it or within it's small radius seems to be invisible to the creatures.

>Ask the other undead we know about what they know about the situation
>Roll 13/20 NUMBER OF THE TECHNICIAN- INTERESTING RESULTS
>Isaiah Counter Rolls 1/20
>Elizabeth rolls 18/20

With the "divine" aura of the Statuette discovered The Technician is free to take a small party with them to go and seek out the Two Sapient undead they're aware of to hopefully gather some insight into what's going on: Isaiah the priest and Elizabeth his wife.

They go up to the 3rd floor, through the stair well and have Lilith open the seal to the level- they're welcome to the relief of no Undead barring down upon them as the 3rd floor seems to be relatively free of at least the 'mindless' sorts.
The Technician's small team goes about scouting and searching for the where about's of the Undead Priest- they don't have to look long though as he's found kneeling, bobbing back and forth, raising his hands and rattling his beads just out in the open on the stone floors of the level.

Surrounding Isaiah there's a large circle- drawn and carved into the level's floor and then filled with blood from the local "river" with the center of the circle focused around a gaudy looking totem; carved out of some kind of weed blood, etched with runes, strung up with eyes, small wooden and fel-cloth fabric dolls. The Technician addresses Isaiah but he.. doesn't seem to respond, he seems entirely invested and lost in this ritual of sorts.

Elizabeth however is also there- She seems to be patiently waiting outside of the circle with a little bit of lunch while she watches over her Husband.
She casually waves to your party.. But her waving becomes more erratic when she notices The Techie holding that Idol.
She immediately gets up and motions your party over, waving her hands and arms around nervously- She seems frightened of the Idol.

>Put The Idol Away.

For the moment you are Elizabeth.

You've been living in this tower with your husband Isaiah for.. You're going to say maybe 1 year? maybe 1 year and a half? He accepted the title and position of clerical administer to some Lich named Baba Koschei and although you were originally very proud of your husband you aren't exactly thrilled about living inside of a Dungeon. You miss the Rotwood and your friends and neighbors dearly, but you didn't feel it was appropriate to get in the way of your husbands happiness when he's sacrificed so much.
Though, something about this seems like tempting fate.

At any rate this feels like a big day for your little family: Lady Koschei has intruscted and paid for an-all-week ritual to take place and the hubby seemed quite thrilled to be commissioned for such a long job. He's been working diligently on his ritual site and you've been spending a good portion of the day watching over him, dusting him off and keeping him even if you're not entirely sure he notices you.
It's the thought that counts.

Today though has been different, today the neighbors came in from the local village a few floors down to visit you and they even brought one of the children- it's been so long since you've seen a child, you feel a little.. admittingly "disgusted" and selfish that you'd like to have one, but you take a small comfort at least in knowing the neighbors have a few kids.
You forgot how cute they are, it gives you the urge to dote on them when you get the opportunity.

Today, though, specifically- they brought something dangerous with them.
They brought an idol of Death; you know they don't know what they've brought because how could the living ever understand that context? You can't speak , but you do your best to communicate to them it's very important neither you or your husband touch the idol.
>>
>>46127346
>>Put the Idol Away?
>>
>>46127933

You invite your guests to help you eat the picnic lunch you've brought out: you keep over packing since you don't want to miss when your husbands ritual will be over as he'll most likely be completely famished... Not that you or him eat, but, you do get hungry. You get frightfully hungry and the only thing that satisfies that hunger is meat and blood.. Which thankfully comes in such large quantities in this area, so you're at least relieved by that. You remember a time when you were much younger and had to hunt down squirrels with your bare hands or scavenge animal carcasses.

You try to make small talk and polite conversation with your guests; doing the usual trick of charades to try and tell them about your husbands work: The important demonic rituals he's practicing today, the large sum he was commissioned to do such a ritual and the notion that it might be the last job he has to do for the Lady Koschei before she's finished her own work and they can return home to the rotwood.
They.. don't seem to understand completely, but you feel they've grasped the basic concept. You're quite proud of your husband; he might be a little stubborn, but he takes pride in his work and professionalism and that's what's important.

The Child though, the child they brought with them seems to have some air of.. a certain something? You assume the little man must have some magic literacy- Their community may have a local Hedgemage, or maybe he's self taught.. Is that common you wonder? How young do children usually pick up magic? 14? 20? You think it'd would be rude to ask his age, but in an act of solidarity you hand the..You think he's a boy- You hand the little boy one of your husband's Grimories.
Just a side text, nothing important- just give him some context, maybe he'll pick something up; when you were a child you thought magic was pretty "cool", so maybe he will as well.
>>
>>46128174

You're quite pleased when you notice the child carefully looking through and flipping the pages- He seems to understand what's written and you're happy he could keep himself preoccupied. You wonder why your Husband was so distant towards the local village- he probably could get a long perfectly fine with these people if he wanted to.

At any rate you try to make them feel at home. It's been a while since you've had the company of 'real people'- all these mindless undead make you nervous; not that they'd attack you, but they just.. "hover" around.

>+Plot Development: Isaiah's place in all this.
>Isaiah is currently casting a ritual: The Technician has read in his notes that the ritual creates a kind of barrier, like a cloud or miasma- that hides and obscures mindless and very powerful undead from the "sight" of death.
>Essentially speaking: If the ritual is stopped Baba Koschei most likely won't be able to control as many or perhaps even any mindless undead at all- having to use her own powers and magics to hide herself from true death as it were.
>You're unsure what would happen to the couple, but it seems their relationship to Koschei is purely "mercinarial", if that's the right word for it.

You're very curious about weaponizing the statuette, but realistically it's proving to be very difficult to analyze due to the bismuth impurity inside it: if lilith touches it for any period of time it begins burning her painfully thanks to the intrinsic anti-magic qualities of the metal and the alchemical nature of Lilith.
Elizabeth offers to help. From a distance.

You find out the following things about the statuette:
-The Aura itself and the Undead -killing- properties of the statue is caused by the carved image of death and holy enchantment within the item. Elizabeth demonstrates this by getting you to cover the statue with a cloth and safely -although nervously- holding the statuette and being completely fine.
-The Physical properties of the statue, I.E: The Silver and Bismuth, seem to be for the purpose of further extending it's anti-undead abilities as both of the metals are capable of physically interacting with non-corporeal entities..

Elizabeth does her best to express that last point by doing an impression of a spooky ghost; wiggling her body and fingers around.

As charming as Elizabeth is your little party thinks everything would go a lot smoother if you could just talk to her and skip all the charades- The Technician thinks they have have just the solution for that; some chalk and a chalk board, little items they had collected from the laboratory and had brought with them to copy anything down they figured would be important.
They figure Elizabeth probably needs this right now a little bit more then themselves.

They pick up their little bag, fishing around for the chalk board, walking over to Elizabeth, calling her over.
They trip on a brick and fall onto their face.
Elizabeth runs over and the Idols harmlessly rolls out of the bag and cover it was kept in and Elizabeth is permeated by the statues Aura.

She falls backwards and lands on her back; very shocked, but seemingly not in pain -more confusion than anything- she looks down to notice her legs have fallen off.
At least, what your people had thought or expected would be legs, she..

The Bandages unravel, they lose form, and there's a wet "slap" as it hits the floor.
>She's just organs underneath the bandages.
She's just a pile of entrails held together by Necromancy, bandages all wrapped tightly in the shape of a woman.
Elizabeth leans up and starts squirming; collecting her loose bandages and wrapping herself up again in an attempt to quickly hide her shame- horribly embarrassed you've seen her 'bare organs' more than anything else.

You are Isaiah- You are a Priest specializing in Demonology due to your Undead nature preventing you from contacting other traditional Gods.

The ritual your patron and employer; Lady Baba Koschei had paid for though was interrupted today when you sensed a great disturbance and danger to your wife.
Family comes first as it is all you have left in your Undead life and you break your concentration to rush to the aid of your spouse, but the ritual has been going on for days and your whole body is stiff, your mind is numb and all you can do is call out for her while you shuffle and try to collect your strength.

You get picked up and lifted gently up from off the ground- you're even brought warm tea to drink and sat down next to your wife who you're relieved to find is perfectly fine, "Just had a bit of a tumble, nothing to worry about" she assures you, rather fluttered. You wonder who you have to thank and-
It's the Homonculi.
The Degenerates. The Weirdos. The Daughters of Chemistry. The Whores of Alc- Your wife slaps you. You stop wasting your energy on creative slurs and try to calm down.

They calmly explain to you.. well, everything: Their late Master, The undead attacking them, their bid for independence, their own lilith and "organ mother and wife", the threat that Lady Koschei possess- everything. They urge you to end this ritual and assist them- offering them whatever you desire in hopes to sway your attitude and opinions.
You think long about everything, about how you came here, about how far you are from the Rotwood you call home.

You start to think maybe this isn't worth it anymore, how you should call the job off and head back to the Rotwood with your wife, but you're worried about the future of your career -There aren't that many liches after all and it's a great honor to work for one, but then again: if you and your wife die in some fucking dungeon in the middle of nowhere you won't have much of a future.

>+Major Plot Development: Isaiah has a few demands

Isaiah is willing to... "Look the other way", quietly takes his money, books, reagents and snap up himself a portal back to the Rotwood, but he would like to be compensated for his unprofessional traitorous behavior or, as he puts it, "You're going to have to make an offer."
Isaiah wants the following things:

-Mana, Liquid Mana. You people roll around in it constantly, but in the wild Mana is a precious and valuable commodity in it's liquid form; usually only found in certain springs leaking out from mana-ley lines and often home to all many of fairies, nymphs and horrible things that hopped on magic that would either rape or eat you- or both. Isaiah wants a few barrels of liquid mana. The amount makes your Technician laugh, but they have no concept of how precious this liquid is to others.

-Isaiah wants you to "tune up" his wife. Although she would never admit it; Elizabeth has begun to deteriorate slightly: sagging a little more, her organs and bandages getting looser and her hunger becoming more persistent and more difficult to satisfy. She doesn't want to turn into a mindless "creeper", but she doesn't want to be a bother. Isaiah gives you grocery list explaining a ritual that will "revitalize" his wife- It's about as expensive -meat wise- as producing an Amazon unit and would take about a day. Your Devil Familiar would be able to assist in this.

-The final request isn't so much a request but a demand and a warning: He can't hold open a portal big enough to move your people away and as soon as he leaves; Baba Koschei will most likely lose all of her composure and "the final fight" as it were for the Tower would be on.

If all that sounds good- Isaiah will agree to end his support .

Some one take note of this. We can abuse this when we find a town

That being said. His demands are simple enough. Lets do this
>>
>>46130768
Yes, this. He has to spill the beans.
>>
>>46130822
>>46130850
Agreed. We get information, but we should hold off on the final fight. It'd be good to help with Elizabeth, though, she's been really nice to us. And doing it in advance would make Isaiah more tolerant of us as well, show him that we're better than he thinks we are.

Isaiah nods and complies; collecting his things and inviting your people to come back with him and his wife to their home by the river of blood.

You all walk past the dried fish, the red fields contrasting against the near perfect darkness of the level; getting closer to the quaint little villa house they call home by the pier of that red, gore, river. Isaiah finally says something, opening the door, "Tell me, do you know what a Human is?"

The pale man sets down his reagents, demonic items, books and lets your party inside- motioning to living quarters as Elizabeth starts up the stove and puts the kettle on, "I understand you've taking a lot of this in out of context, but in the outside world a lot of people often ask themselves, 'What creature did all these skeletons belong to? What was this zombie supposed to be when it was alive?" He grabs a book from the shelf, guiding himself over to the table where your party sits.

"Humanoid is a corruption of the word "Human" which is reference to a general term for "obscure, upright, being" and that brings me to another point: the phrase, "burn alone". He opens the book and passes it over to the Technician who slowly reads through it. "Humans were an obscure species of 'humanoid' that lived on the plains- they were a complimentary race to centaurs and the two lived together and they created cities, monuments. They were two of the few races that could handle direct sunlight and so you could say the only God that mattered favored the two species heavily."

Isaiah rolls his hand a bit, thanking his wife when the tea is brought and taking a sip, "Well, that's not fair: Giants, er, Cyclopes could handle sunlight, but they were so few in number they barely registered as a foot note. Either way: Humans spread far and wide- wherever the sun touched, only getting stopped by the "shade" as it was once commonly said."

"So what does this have to do with anything you might ask? Lady Koschei is a Centaur- Lady Koschei might be one of the last Centaur and I 'may' have been a Human. Honestly it's hard to remember- even the sharpest of undead minds have a tendancy to forget and.." Isaiah motions to his wife, "Elizabeth, was I a Human? You're older then me- " Elizabeth strolls back into the room to set a plate of dried meat for her guests; she then lifts her husbands black hair up revealing his slightly pointed ears before running her fingers around his eyes to make notice of how abnormally stretched out and sunken in the bags around them are due to the loss of blood flow.
"Ah, thank you- appearently I was a Changeling of some kind, wait, but don't I have?" Elizabeth squeezes her husbands wrist- it's firm, but it isn't as soft as one should be- it's almost rubbery. "Alright, I guess I don't have hard bones, point taken dear."

Isaiah clears his throat- more if anything to get air back in there so he can continue, "Koschei -if I had to guess- Is an obscure nationalistic Centaur: I don't know what happened with the Humans and Centaurs, no one really does- most people agree they're extinct or secluded to some far off corner or desert, but what I do know is Koschei has been gathering every single Human skeleton, body and corpse she can find: preserving them, animating them in some attempt to revive her nation, country, clan or what have you."
The Technician asks if she's trying to preserve or revive her species, why is she sending so many to die or disappear down in the tower?
"I can only assume those are the mistakes. Baba Koschei is old -very old- Liches are an extremely archaic and flawed form of Undeath. If I had to guess: she's probably sending off the "mistakes" and "errors" to clear out the tower so she can make this place livable for when she eventually figures out how to revive something so old. "

Hey i'm reading cyclops civ and it and this are amazing keep up the good work
>>
>>46131487

"But what about us? Where do we fit into all this?" The Technician gets slightly invested in this, the room getting a little tense.

Isaiah is quiet for a moment, eats a little nibble of dried meat, asks his wife if there's any tobacco left in his smoking box before he responds;
"I'm not the first person Baba Koschei has commissioned: She hired the finest Minotaurian Architects from the east to design this tower, She dug up and dragged out the most eccentric Dwarven engineers to retool and construct it's inner-workings, she gathered the greatest Cyclopean masons to build the thing and commissioned the most modern and educated of Changeling Alchemists and physicians to engineer her the most sophisticated medical supplies and genetic equipment conceivable." Isaiah lightens up a little when his wife brings him his smoking box and it still has a few rolled cigarettes in it. "Ah, thank you- No, oh come on he's a Homonculi- N- fine I won't smoke in front of a child."

"But why a Tower? Why a Tower??" The Technician persists.
"This isn't just a Tower: it's a Machine and it still works."

"My Boy, this the Tower is her Phylactery."

Step 1: Build explosives
Step 2: Plants explosives
Step 3: Find new home
Step 4: Blow this place to hell

that's a bad plan.

Baba Koschei wants to remake the humans and centaurs?

We can just MAKE human and centaur haemonculi. Rebreed them!

Baba can go to death happy, her life work complete
>>
>>46131685
Well... Do we survive sunlight? Isaiah mentioned this way earlier after all...

But worse yet... I feel like our Lilith is physically attached to the tower... and she's sort of our only way of reproducing at the moment.

Though I kind of don't want her to get to her "time to spread my maximum overlewd to the rest of the world and grind corpses beneath the wheel" speil

The Fake internet points make me happy.
If you like my world building and drawing you can see more of that HERE: http://spaghettiart.tumblr.com/ I occasionally draw requests and always try to draw world building questions. Well, barring this week (I spent it drawing hentai, elsewhere...)

And for those who stuck it out the whole way until the end, I'd like to thank your reader loyalty by dropping the pastebin links to the NSFW pornographic quest-themed writery:

so if i remember correctly lilith knew baba before we did- hm...you better not be doing what i think you're doing

and seriously though, are you ever going to go back to cyclops civ? or should i put that thought to rest?

and another question(if you dont plan on continuing cyclops) are you going to do crystalids next?(oh god please no...i honestly dont see this ever going well...ALTHOUGH maybe you can pull it off)-

i plan on possibly starting to make my own civ again but i feel i would shame you if i used your setting...even when i already asked you....we'll see

(can you give a time-frame to when you want to finish this civ? i could kick it into high-gear if you wish)

I am indeed interested in doing a "new Civ" or at least very strongly humoring the idea when I've recovered from this one.

The next one I plan/intend on doing will INDEED be Crystalids and I'll be doing them up as best as I can and how I've come to understand them.
Since you've all stuck around I suppose you're invested enough to be spoiled, but basically what I had in mind was:

A Species of no-sexuals/asexually reproducing crystalline and gorgeous mineral people who are native to an asteroid belt.
Yes, an Asteroid belt- The Civ would take place IN SPACE, which I'm VERY excited about.

In continuing that theme of "doing something new each time" The Crystallid Civ would have little to no sexual content as your people would.. They would crave "Aesthetic"- they don't need to reproduce, but being crazy diamond people they desire to make themselves as pure and beautiful as possible for when they grow their kin, etc..

You would also be immediately introduced to 2 other competing species: The Ligthotrophs and the Starites.
Two species of inorganic mineral beings that your people share a common ancestor with: The Ligthotrophs evolving into a short of hideous, brutish, almost neaderthal proximity that cares only for stronger silicans and tough life and the Starites having evolved into annoying, impish/goblin, extremely colouful open-space nomadic creatures- that rain down upon your meteors to plague and nibble away at all good mineral.

I think it would be best if you did your own thing, but didn't use my setting.

My stuff might look really appealing, but behind the curtain it's still very much a mess I have a lot of kinks and so for to iron out.

I would, though, in the long run really enjoy creating and releasing some comprehensive source material like a pdf-maybe one of those pay what you want doo-hickeys- of the setting in the future; provided there's an interest.

i cant promise ill participate but ill definitely check it out...maybe ill start working on my civ,i had a good idea in mind, i just need a solid plot...
i highly recommend looking up different metals+minerals and their qualities/their make up/ how they work
i've always been one to voice my opinion honestly,im slightly disappointed and im not sure exactly why

>>46132446
i wouldnt copy it word for word, comma for comma, but i would use some of the ideas, as they are really good (i dont want to go into specifics if i actually do it, but ill make it best as i can, dont worry i wont botch it)

as far as the PDF goes, ill definitely help you out, honestly we could actually make CIVS be a mainstream thing in /tg/ and possibly even have it be its own board in time- but you never have enough time/ ETC- i mean hell i already made a civ chart...might as well go the whole way (we could make a whole bunch of shit to help civs pave a path...just let me know)

ooh, and elements in general, too. There could be all sorts of crazy lifeforms - obsidian-based, chlorine, gold, titanium, neon, calcium, lead, plutonium - there's tons of potential.
>>
>>46132693
>>46132427

It will also be the EARLIEST Civ Quest I think I've ever seen.

You can also expect it to have a lot more of the open/personal spiritualism exploration with the setting as we interact with representatives of the first, three, initial sources and pillars of creations:

The First "Souls": The first Divine Spirits in the form of Angels, Gods and Demons before they had fleshy, squishy people to supply them with endless fountains of mana- starving and desperate.

The First "Bodies": The first people virginal, selfish, mineral beings crawling out from lifeless rock- trying to make a name for themselves as the first prototypes of life.

The First "Minds": The original horrors, the original eldritch beings- neither fragments nor the slabs of flesh that you're familiar with who rose up from the sea to make petty threats against the maggots who've grown fat off their rotting bodies, but the true nightmares that predate creation.

Also fucking space.
SPACE.

>>
>>46132829
pure element based is a lot more....arbitrary than what actual crystals are composed of: chemical compounds.

That said, it's not unusual for gases to deposition into crystals, and many metals come in crystalline form(although not many are not pure). Never heard of a NEON crystal, though...
