Welcome to A Song of Revenge and Gold: House Malroy Quest. In which you take the reins of a House of storied glorious past since Aegon’s Conquering, but whose fortunes have taken a turn for the worse in the doom that Robert’s Rebellion brought. You are Brynden Malroy, second son to Lord Vamos Malroy and Lady Esemella Hayford and the last living heir to Steadhold and House Malroy. The year is 285AC, two years after the Rebellion and a year after your return to Westeros.

House Malroy is a pre-genned House designed around the idea of a story within the Crownlands of a House fiercely loyal to the Targaryens and their attempts to live in this new world after Robert’s Rebellion. Lord Brynden Malroy is as well pre-genned but will take direction from the players in his ways and how he develops himself further. This Quest will be moderately more story driven than others of its kind, but the development of the House and her lands will take just as much importance.

If you’ve played one of the many Quests within the ASoIaF setting the rules of the SIFRP system should be known. I will be using the Game of Thrones edition, as well as a few of the expansions namely OOSP and a few house rules which will be explained as we come to them. If you have questions about how things work or why certain actions are taken I can explain them as we go along. In truth this is a learning experience for me as well.

And now without further ado.
>>
For much of your time home in Westeros the Goldroad ended at Blacktower Bridge, traveling west was a mere thought, a memory of your youth. Lands you once hunted with your brothers, played in without a care in the world, gone to the Seven Hells and back, plagued by bandits, wrought with danger, rumors of entire communities disappearing overnight had begun to reach your ears. Your Steadhold was still a primary crossing into the Crownlands, and merchants spoke freely when invited to table. The lands descended into chaos, wretched from the Red Bastard’s hands, death was common, merchants need triple their guard when passing through. Yet here you were, traveling along the Goldroad, your uncle Ser Dontos Malroy, and son, Victus following closely after. Ser Lucas Longwaters was by your side, his Knights forming a perimeter of twos about your small train. Dontos had brought along with him Dusky Danse and his cavalry, twenty good men a proper honor guard, and had told you the extra protection was unnecessary, no one would dare to attack him so openly. And yet you insisted, deciding to escort them at least halfway there, there was purpose behind your being there regardless.

-The Night Prior-

“Seven above…” Dontos mutters under his voice in disbelief, his eyes scanning the battlefield. Carnage and destruction abound. Your troops capturing his remaining men with ease as you slide your horse archers into place and finish your wargame.

“That’s game Uncle,” you say with a smile, “What is it, 5-0 tonight?”

“4-1, you still don’t know how to use Engineers and siege engines,” your uncle remarks slacking into his seat across from you. Your wargames had become a nightly ritual, there was a time where you could hardly beat him, his tacts far beyond your own. But you improved, from sheer force of will, practice, and repeated beatings.
>>
Benjin was a help, so rarely he called upon his link of black iron, but before he left he gave you a pile of books. Histories, accounts of battles won and lost, and surprisingly an account of the War of the Stepstones, Daemon Targaryen’s failed bid for a Kingdom of his own. You had searched it for mentions of your family, remembering the shield as it sat lonely in your hall, but to little avail.

“I still won that round,” you respond laughing a bit, unbuttoning your doublet and letting things breathe, your hand brushes where once Isis’ braid sat, the empty pocket now only holding letters. You finger at one in particular, the seal still unbroken.

“Another then?” Dontos asks, rearranging his pieces. He took a genuine joy in your want to learn, the past few months had been the best you had ever gotten along.

“I think enough for tonight Dontos,” you say, pulling the letter out, the unmarked wax of gold catching the remaining light of the day and your Uncle’s eye, “We need our rest for tomorrow’s journey. We have two very important people to meet.”

Dontos’ eyes hardly leave the letter, “I have only to escort Lady Chelsted. Who-?”

You walk around the table and place the letter into your Uncle’s hands, “Someone very dear will be attending Dontos. I had yet to tell anyone but you. Lord Arryn’s wife, Lady Lysa Tully will be attending the wedding, and bringing along a guest. Tomorrow I will be escorting Lady Tully and-”

“Isis,” Dontos says slowly, “She… She is coming home?”

“For a few days. Lord Arryn attending to the details. Royce was fit to burst from anger. Moments after the Princewood had been taken from him, in front of the court and all to see. He could not refuse. I do not know if she knew his intentions, but she seemed… Happy when I met with her. She insisted I give you this letter.”
>>
“So I could become the Knight I once was,” Dontos responds, looking to you, a tear having fallen from his cheek to the final words of the letter. He chuckles lightly, “She says I frighten them. The ‘Black Knight’ is on their tongues any time they come near. Beautrice Blount, Lord Linden Langward’s wife, despises me, says her brother could beat me any day of the week...”

You place a hand on his shoulder, “Isis always knew you what you could achieve, even when we were little.”

“Someday Uncle Dontos. You’ll be the greatest Knight in the Seven Kingdoms,” your uncle says, like a prayer.

---

Dontos’ onyx plate shined in the midday sun, he wore his full suit, even the helmet as your traveled, in silence. Even Victus quelled his usual chatter, his dark leathers making him look a proper squire to ‘The Black Knight of Malroy’. Two of your Knights can be seen in the distance, riding ahead, they stop, one pointing, conferring for a moment before riding back to you. Lucas goes to meet them, leaving your side, a round of nods and they join the train again, Lucas coming back to you.

“Ser Aden and Ser Quinton sees them ahead Brynden. Colors of House Tully and Arryn fly, alongside the Redward’s. They are waiting mounted with a small carriage, looks like maybe 50 men in all, twenty of which wear Arryn’s colors,” he reports. His voice was serious for a change, he even wore his helmet, though the open faced one. All of your Knights wore similar plate now, a gift, they had all kept their own. But in reward for their services you had commissioned the twenty suits of black plate, the trimmings gold, not unlike your own. Their capes were attached by two badges, one the symbol of your House over their left breast, over their right the badge of their own arms, the cape usually matching their primary charge. They were all mounted upon your House’s horses, these were the youngest of the Coursers, but fierce, and just as golden as your own Goldsong.
>>
It left an impressive look, one of professionalism and if one Black Knight was frightening, perhaps another twenty odd would be even more so. Lucas screws his face up and adds, “Could be a trap.”

“They wouldn’t dare be so bold,” Dontos responds bluntly, digging his spurs into Penance, “Endangering the Hand of the King’s wife for an attack on neutral grounds? They’d bring the wrath of the Crownlands down upon them. And we do not need to look too eager for war ourselves. If word is true of Royce’s place in the Queen’s pocket we could look the aggressor in a peaceful handoff.”

“All the same, it wouldn’t hurt to be cautious. At the very least puff ourselves up and look impressive. There’s forty of us, we could make a proper perimeter. They’re all bunched up as is.” Lucas says, “Brynden, thoughts?”

You weren’t entirely sure, Royce was an idiot to be certain. But was he truly so stupid to bring about open war? In truth you couldn’t say with a hundred percent certainty. And while you wished him to fear you, any chance for people to call you a sellsword playing at Lord again would likely be taken, though… It might be exactly what you want them to think. The young hot-headed sellsword rarely surfaced, your mind still burnt when thoughts of Lady Nera Dayne’s imposter crossed your mind. But perhaps it was time for him to come back, at least enough to remind.

>Agree with Lucas, look impressive, form a perimeter about their camp for the handoff, trap or no
>Agree with Dontos, you needed to look a Lord still, allow Royce to make the poor decisions

Few items of note.

Just so everyone is aware, the OP is updated with a link to all of the SIFRPG books and resources. While my homebrew stuff can be found in the Masterlist link.

Also thread is going to be a shorter tonight, but I will be running on Saturday, hopefully Sunday to compensate.

“Dontos has the right of it Lucas,” you respond, even if it is a bit reluctantly, “Form up proper, Royce is an idiot, though I doubt him that stupid. And if he is, well suppose we’ll have the Crown’s backing.”

“As you say Brynden,” Lucas says and flicks two fingers forward, sending Ser Aden and Ser Quinton ahead again.

“Not to say we won’t be on our guard milord,” Danse adds coming up at the end of your conversation, “You sounded more like Donold than yourself there for a moment. If I may be frank milord.”

“The boy you once knew is long changed, Captain Danse,” Dontos says, glowering down at him from within his helmet.

“I meant no offense milord,” Danse adds hurriedly, “Observation is all.”

“Thank you for your input Captain,” you say with a quick nod. You turn in your saddle and wave Arron Qorgyle forward, he was struggling with your own helmet. An absolutely gaudy thing that Illiad had gotten you while in Myr. But his heart was in the right place with it. He puts his spurs into the horse and catches up to you, glad to be relieved of his burden. Removing the helmet from the silk back you admire the work that had gone into it. A solid onyx bucket helmet, trimming and detail of gold, atop a crest of a rampant horse, golde as the trim was, eyes fixed with onyx stones, the mane wisps of cloth of gold flowing to a trail behind you. The Myrish were known for their craftsmanship, but by the Seven was this a piece of work. You smile softly remembering your old friend and place it upon your head, adjusting to the weight, and leaving the window open for now.
>>

Welcome Brother
>>
Arron’s face remains as stoic as always, only cracking a smile when Victus comes up next to him. The lads had grown to be close friends, and Arron was every bit the proper squire you would expect, nothing like his Aunt and with none of the bravado of his father. At times you had forgotten he was even dornish. Though you were swiftly reminded any time you practiced with him in the yard. His footwork was excellent, far surpassing your son, and he was far more prone to dashing about, rolling, and fighting in close quarters. Not entirely unlike yourself if your youth. It was a surprisingly good fit, and the boys had begun a small rivalry in who would be the better archer. A close duel for certain.

You chase idle thoughts away as you come into view of Redward’s camp. It was on a three way cross road, to the south was Royce’s lands, what remained of them at least, further west Lady Chelsted’s and of cource east your own. Lucky for Dontos. You noted the marked distinction between Arryn’s men and Royce’s own. If you were any judge Royce had brought his own Knights, the robber and Hedge Knights that Ser Duncan Ureye had told you about so long ago. Seeing your approach the camps scramble, Royce’s Knights mounting and beginning to circle before spilling out before you in a straight line of twenty. Behind them the small escort of Arryn’s men surround the carriage. The Tully and Arryn banners flying in front. You shift uneasily as your own men begin to form up, Your line of Black Knights forming a similar line to the one across from them, Ser Lucas and Jon Pryor taking up spots in the middle directly ahead of you. Dontos and your respective squires form up behind you, each holding the banner of your House.
>>
The moment becomes heavy, tense with every silent movement by either side. You had to swallow down the urge to charge, and you could feel Lucas’ own antsiness. His horse chopping at the ground and shaking her head. You roll your neck and feel muscles come alive, your hand rattles the sword in your scabbard you feel yourself ready for war, not a homecoming. As you looked over Royce’s line you couldn’t help to feel superior. They were a ragtag group at best, compared to your own Knights they were nothing. Even your sellswords could crush them, then again The Sons of Gold were the best. You smile to yourself and by your side you can feel Dontos’ own judgement, far harsher than your own, the True Knights disdain coming through in full force.

And then you snap back to reality, their lines open. Three men ride forward, one holding the banner of House Redward, his shield giving away himself away as the man that received a broken arm from you in the Grand Melee Ser Crastor Paege, the other held the banner of House Dargood, finally confirming your own fear that they had aligned with Royce and further solidifying your believe that they had something to do with the slave trade. And in the middle, in his red plate sat Lord Royce Redward, the Red Bastard himself, he had placed his own bucket helmet on, though it looked far more plain than your own. Behind them follows a Knight holding Lord Arryn’s banner, if you had to take a guess it was Ser Byrron Royce, hadn’t seen him in a long while, but was one of the Hand’s more trusted men. A good sign. And after him the carriage, though no Lady Tully or Isis in sight.

As they approach the center of the crossroads Lucas looks back to you, “Orders Brynden?”

>Match their approach, yourself, Dontos, and Lucas
>Excel their approach, yourself, Dontos, Lucas, Jon Pryor, and another Knight

>Just you and Dontos
>>
“Dontos, Lucas. Ready for reception. I’ll meet them. Alone,” you say. Firmly to a slow round of nods. You can feel your Uncle’s unease at to prospect, and Lucas’ face reads of worry but all the same your line opens as you press into Goldsong, leading the old boy forward into the breach. It was not war, you kept reminding yourself, but damn it if it didn’t feel like it. The air was thick with tension, and upon your tongue you swear you could taste the metallic taste of blood, a reminder of your time in Essos. The line behind you remains open while Royce’s closes after the carriage and her procession finally exits.

“Steady boy,” you find yourself saying softly to Goldsong, the old horse was a trained hand at this, he was like an extension of yourself, could feel your emotions and directions before you ever communicated them to him. Malroy blood your father use to tell you, ever son of the line had the connection. They were our dragons.

You can see the Dargood Knight lean over and whisper something to Royce who nods and the with a quick flick speeds up to a canter, the other two Knights breaking off to the side, leaving only he to lead the carriage, while the other two line up on your flanks. You maintain your pace, keeping every emotion, every desire to maim, to kill, to quench your thirst for revenge down. It sat like bile in your throat and it took every fiber of your being to keep it down.
>>
You can feel Royce’s gaze as you approach, stopping at about midday and allowing him to come to you. Casting a look about you can see Ser Crastor and Ser Dargood having taken up positions, the standards they bear pointed like a war lance. Royce stops before you, Ser Byrron catching up behind him, his helmetless head revealing he was as you thought. He stops and looks to Royce, who only flicks his wrist allowing him to pass. His eyes remain on you, even through his helmet you can tell he seethed with rage to match your own. You were winning, after only a year, you were winning. As Ser Byrron passes you he nods stiffly, seeming more uncomfortable than dangerous, and the carriage begins to pass by you, even the man leading allowing a sword across his lap for protection. The window opens and you see auburn hair at the back, a somewhat pudgy hand waving a white handkerchief, you lean forward and see Lady Lysa Tully, a smile upon her face her other hand resting in the lap of your sister who looks to you nervously, both hands upon her stomach. You sigh with relief and straighten, allowing the procession to pass, never allowing your eyes to leave Royce’s own.

As the final man passes you push Goldsong into a circle, an act that Royce replicates on his own horse, opening his helmet when his back is to your own men. You can see the hatred for you in his eyes, but the unmistakable sneer of a man far too deep into his own shit. And for once, he speaks, his voice coarse and direct. The tinge of low birth heavy upon it.
>>
“This changes nothing. Your marriage is born of pity. They will not help you. No one will. I have the favor of the bloody Queen ‘erself. What do you have? A bunch of pissing horses and half the men I does. Remember good, once you done playin’ tea with my wife she’ll be comin’ back to me. And I won’t let her forget what a pissin’ failure of a brother you are. And when those babes come out, I’ll claim ‘er cunt again and again, in fact I might do it before, back the little pissers come out quicker. Because she’s mine, and will always be’s mine and there ain’t a damn thing you can do bout it. You would had done better to die like the lame horses the rest of your family was.”

For a moment you damn your helmet, the amount of hatred you had for the man was palpable, you could feel wildfire burn in your eyes, the midday sun catching your emerald ablaze in a moment. You continued your circle with Royce, ignoring the men flanking you, and only allowing your eyes to come off him when you saw that the carriage had passed through your line and it had closed. Lucas waving to you the all clear, while Dontos in the background hurriedly dismounted and opening the door of the carriage, Victus left to hold his helmet and horse. You catch a brief moment of Isis’ arms leaning out to embrace him before returning to Royce. The Red Bastard. Your family’s downfall. The greatest waste of humanity you had ever met. You wished to spit word back at him, to cull his own, but upon the same token actions spoke louder than words. He feared you, why else would he position armed men on your flanks within charging distance. Why else did his hand sit upon the pommel of his sword. Perhaps no words were greater than the venom you felt upon your tongue.

Part of it is pop is interpreting the faith as much more beholden to the king than I think most people would interpret it. That's fair, these things are open to interpretation, but it means an annulment is much harder than a lot of people would expect.
>>
>>46077680
I'm just not a fan of letting her go back to him. I mean the dude is a legit monster and seven knows when we can get her back.
>>
>>46077655
There are, but they are hardly ever used.

The more famous example was when a Targ queen wanted out of her marriage with her husband/brother...
Even then she had to deliver a kid before the King allowed her to join the Septa/Sister of Silence, and he went back on his word anyway or something.
>>
>>46077806
Yep that's the rub of this. It's almost like the Saltygar point but a lot worse because it's our sister. But we have to let her go back. Unless she decides to Visit the Eyrie witgh Lysa to get away from him for a few months but I don't think that is going to be posssible.
>>
>>46077816
That's partially a matter of king and head of house being the same person, otherwise she could appeal to one or the other.
>>
After a final circle you stop, longways from one another, Goldsong’s head faces forward eyeing Ser Crastor uneasily as he stomps at the ground his nostrils flaring with another shake of his head. You cast a glance back, Lucas looking at you with an arm raised, your men holding their positions in the line. There were many things you wished to say, all of them mixing in your throat with the bile and venom of hatred. It was all you could do not say anything. You decide to open the window to your helmet, a smile upon your face. It danced about like Ser Victor Haigh’s would. Royce looks taken aback, screwing his already ugly face up more.

He looks to be readying to say more. His mouth going to speak and hangs ajar to your response.

Of laughter. Sheer, unadulterated hysterical laughter. You beat your fist against you leg, laughing as hard as you possibly can. Words are wind, and his were even more than forgotten in a moment, washed away by the breeze of the Narrow Sea in so far inland. You calm a moment, just long enough to look him in the eyes, allowing the blaze of your wildfire to meet augment your word, “I wish you good day, Lord Royce.”

You turn without another word, allowing the laughter to continue echoing into the forest around you. You can see Lucas’ grin from afar, his arm falling and the ranks opening up, he nods to you as you enter, his men scrambling to form up around yourself and the carriage. Ser Byrron greets you with a shake of your hand and goes to speak with his men, affirming that Ser Grover is in King’s Landing, for the sake of the event. A quick look back shows Royce’s party turning and marching off with a quickness, Royce in his red plate far ahead of the rest.
>>
>>46077655
It's complicated.
Rape charges have to be brough out for the High Lord of the Realm, in this case Bobby B, which then, he'd send someone to investigate the claims.
>>
Arron looks to you unexpectedly, seeming unaware of the significance of the event. He holds two set of reins, looking somewhat uncomfortable. Victus and Dontos are both along the other side of the carriage, you can hear your Uncle’s voice, Isis’ sweet responses quelling his pain. You decide to allow him the moment alone, it was a long time coming after all. So often he had blamed himself for her supposed death, how it hung over him like a fog, allowing him to fall to disrepair, his strength forgotten. You saw flashes of it, his tilt with Ser Boros Blount namely among them, but here. He was a man whole again, it pained your Uncle near as much as yourself to see Isis in such a state. You discerned as much from the cry of anger when he saw her head. But all the same, she was here. She was alive, and she brought that man you once knew to the surface once again.

“I will be home in two days Brynden,” Dontos says to you, having donned his helmet again, in an attempt to cover up his red and swollen eyes, “Ser Mason tells me your cousin Archie Benedorn will be there before me. Try not to… Incite him.”

You nod and place a hand on his shoulder that he brushes off. He did not wish to leave your sister, not so soon, but he would have her for a few more days at least. Your Uncle calls Danse and his riders to him, and stares at the carriage a moment longer, before waving for Victus to follow after.
>>

Nobody wants to let her go back. We're so close to being able to bury the fucker, it's torment. The only reason I can think of not to nail his hide to our door when we get the proof we need of his crimes is Varys. Spider says there are people that would rather Royce's holdings go back to Malroy hands than another flunky of the Queen, How much longer we can wait once we have the evidence, we'll have to wait and see.
>>
>>46077864
Oh also being in the crownlands, because an abused wife in one of the kingdoms proper could appeal to: head of her family, the Lord paramount, and ultimately the king (admittedly with great difficulty)
>>
Your son is standing in front of Isis, his hands stiffly by his side as she spoke to him. Her soft smile matching his own, for the first time in nine years you recognize where he got that from, must be a family thing. She places a hand on his cheek and pushes the hair out of his eyes, before nodding to Dontos and speaking a few words before he parted. Victus for his part held together, he had never known his aunt, only stories, and you had a feeling Isis would prefer to get to know him longer. Your son delicately hugs your sister her arms draping around him and brushing his hair before sending him off. You can feel the sting in your own eyes, a legitimate pain. So much she missed. So many years to make up for.

As Dontos and Victus ride off to collect Lady Chelsted you rally your own escort, Lucas and Ser Byrron taking positions behind you. Despite every want to meet with Isis again and speak to her, you were still the Lord, in dangerous wild lands, there was a need for your protection, a dare still active for the bandits to attack.

---

The ride felt longer than usual. And when Steadhold was in sight you decided to fall back and ride alongside Isis carriage, she was heavily pregnant, due any day now you felt. And try as you might to stop her she insisted upon leaning out the window, and looking to Steadhold in the distance. You could tell her memories had been hurt by the sorry state the castle and her grounds were in, and she would ask you what had happened here or there. And you would tell her to the best of your abilities, allowing the long walk about town to show her where reconstruction had begun, where the new Sept sat, only a few months away from completion. Despite the pain you could see joy, happiness at seeing her home again, and Steadhold felt the same. Word had gotten out around the town that Lady Lysa Tully would be attending the wedding then further word that a daughter of the House was returning as well.
>>
Mason and Elionwy greet you at the entrance to the castle proper, your dear friend looking far better than he had a week ago. He goes to the carriage and offers your sister his arm as he opens it, ever the picture of chivalry. She looks to you with unease and a gentle smile and a nod, placates her fears. You in turn dismount and offer to escort Lady Lysa Tully, an offer that is not denied, she pudgy face turning to a gleeful child like giggle by your offer an odd thing.

Mason attempts to gain your ear while you enter the grand hall, and for a moment you ignore him. Enjoying the homecoming far too much to be troubled by things now. It isn’t until you are halfway down the grand hall that you notice a man, slim of build, but as tall as yourself, a thin moustache of black the only hair he wore besides the slicked back black upon his head. His colors were familiar, red, yellow and black. You stop, eyeing him, watching him eat surrounded by men in his colors, a woman flanking either side of him. And suddenly you remember, eyes landing on your Aunt, Isabelle Malroy, looking to you with a pleaful eye. Your cousin. Archie Benedorn. Sitting upon your father’s seat. His men occupying the high dial.

He looks up at you, and touches the sides of his mouth with a cloth before standing, “So good of you to finally come home. I was just about to get bored of this drab old castle. I had heard so much better from my dear mother. Come, cousin, let us break bread and salt.”

>Response?

Sorry about the delay, had to do something that took a bit longer than I had wanted.
>>
>>46077921
I imagine once we have the evidence we'll have to go invade ourselves. There's enough support that if we seize it ourselves the king won't grant it to a loyalist but if the crown was doing the work (which is what would happen if we revealed it as soon as we had proof) then there's not support to actively grant it to us. Basically we won't get shit taken away but also won't get given things.

Seeing Archie reminds you of the paper thin boy that had once visited Steadhold in your youth, he was just as small then, and only looked like a beanpole now. He had always attempted to be bigger than his bite, Donold had beaten him so badly in a friendly spar that he had claimed your brother had cheated. He was a right cunt sometimes, and today was not the day for it. Though as much as you wished to curse him out, you felt yourself naturally swallowing the words again. Instead putting on your facade, looking the proper Lord.

“So good to see you cousin. Come, come. It is not your place to offer such things, but mine own. In my drab and dreary home. A point of which you must excuse, I find I am lacking the womanly touch she so dearly needs,” you respond, allowing the previous smile to play upon your lips again, “Page, bring my guests bread and salt. We do have many today. My Lady Tully, I do ask your forgiveness.”

“I hadn’t even thought of it Lord Malroy,” she responds her grip upon your arm tightening. And frightening you a touch. Deciding it better to escape her grasp you scoop up the first platter of bread to come from the kitchens.

All in all, there were 40 men and women in your hall, a sizable amount, so in offering you decided to take the slow route, allowing Archie to watch you offer pieces too Lord Arryn’s men and Lady Lysa Tully first. You turn your head about midway through and tilt it to the side, extending your free and tapping your chin.

“You know, cousin. It is not every day I have a Lord of the Stormlands in my castle. Tell me, do you see company from abroad often?”

Archie is midway through a sip of wine, before lowering his cup and looking at you oddly over it, “I- No, there is no need. The Storm Lords are of high stature of any other, why would I care to see others?”
>>
“Oh no reason, cousin. Merely curious to kind of company you keep. You see in the Crownlands, rumors are… Boundless, endless. In fact some make a career of the gossips of sewing circles. And I must say, your words do remind me so much of them. The clucking I do mean. Tell me, have you spoken with the Ladies here? I’m certain they could give you interesting bits of information about myself.”

You pause a moment allowing the wheels to turn in his head, offering another piece of bread to your guests. Deciding he isn’t going to say anything of note you continue.

“Example. There is a lovely little phrase people love to use when speaking of me… Seven above what is it, something about a sellsword. Lucas, a hand?”

Lucas is hardly able to contain his smile, knowing exactly where you were going with this, “A sellsword playing at Lord, my Lord.”

“There it is. A sellsword playing at Lord. An excellent description all in all, play off my inexperience as a Lord of the Realm, my rather extensive background as a sellsword, and really just dig at me with the execution. Punctuate with a stiff kick usually does it.”

You cross from the line of Arryn’s men to your high dial, and begin to offer bread to Archie’s men, each taking it in turn, a sharp looking cowing them. The glimmer of emerald just being enough to force them from their place. Each in turn stepping away from their seat, Archie’s gaze of anger only growing as you do so.

“Another perhaps? That was a rather in depth example, apologies cousin. Ser Victor Haigh, thoughts?”

Victor shrugs, twirling a finger in the air for a moment, “I do suppose I’d go after your children, my Lord.”
>>
“Ah yes, excellent example Ser Victor. My son, Victus, my world. Some would say he has too high a place in my Household. Use the words bastard, Waters, lowborn, natural. Oh they’d dig at me for him. How my disgrace drove me from Westeros, I was the last option,” you pause a moment, taking a spinning step around Archie and going down the other side of the table, “Perhaps I am soft touch. Too weak willed to give up my children. My weakness. Or my weakness is my inability to keep it in the sheathe. Another thought, easily elaborated on.”

You reach the end of the now empty table, placing the platter down, and separating the bread into three pieces before coming back up to the head of the table. Your cousin looks to you with confusion and you offer who you are guessing is a Lady from House Estermont her salt and bread, before offering it to your aunt, both taking it graciously. You pull the platter back as Archie goes to reach for it and you tilt your head to the side again waggling a finger in thought.

“In truth, cousin. In the Crownlands, such a poor attempt to incite a Lord would be met with… Laughter. In fact, Lucas? You have my leave,” you pause a moment as Lucas finally begins to howl with laughter, professional to the end that man, few others join in with him and you smile and turn back to Archie drawing in closer with every word., “I don’t know how they do things in the Stormlands, cousin. But if you want to get under my skin. In my own House. Upon my own chair. You will need to do a far better job than that. I’ve seen men lose body parts for far better attempts,” again you pause, your nose a mere inch away from his own, and allow a grin to form from ear to ear “Now. Bread, salt, my Lord? It is good to see you again cousin. My apologies Aunt Isabella, it has been a long time since I was able to speak at length with my cousin.”

Success, 2 degrees.

Archie maintains his eye contact with you, they gained nothing from your family, he looked like a typical Stormlander. Slowly he reaches up and takes the remaining piece of bread, and a pinch of salt, placing it in his mouth noisily. He swallows hard and you quirk an eyebrow before he sighs hard backing off, his mother looking relieved.

“Point, cousin,” he responds with a bit of the lifted tone from before, but most of it put back into its place, “A pleasure to see you again. I apologize for my… Indiscretion. I-”

“GET OUT OF MY FATHER’S CHAIR,” Isis’ voice loudly screams across the room, you hadn’t noticed that she wasn’t in the grand hall with you at the time, assuming she had sat down with Mason somewhere. More likely he took her for a tour of the castle before returning here. Your Knight looks at your sheepishly, as she marches her way towards, you, hiking her skirt up in an attempt to be faster. In truth for a woman near nine months pregnant she was moving at a terrifying pace. You could see her own fire, a legitimate anger at Archie, you make no attempts to stop her warpath as she ascends the dial and places herself firmly in front of your cousin.

“Archie Benedorn, you listen to me, I do not care if I am bed ridden pregnant but if I ever catch you in my father’s seat again I swear upon the Seven I will hide you. Now. Get. Out. Of. That. Chair.” Your sister says her finger nearly up his nose. You turn to look at Archie who had turned so white you could see through him if you looked hard enough. Isis places her hands over her stomach, and smiles brightly towards your Aunt, “Hello Aunt Isabella. I’ve missed you so. How are the Stormlands treating you?”
>>
---

Firmly placed in your seat again you enjoy an evening with what is possibly the largest gathering of your family in the past two years. A shame Dontos and Victus missed it. When asked of his absence you explain to Isabella and Isis he is collecting a lovely Lady. An explanation that absolutely baffles the two of them until you explain further of Lady Alexes Chelsted and her position. They both laugh at Dontos’ failed attempts at court, but take pleasure in seeing the House grow stronger for it. Archie even manages to speak to you more plainly, more like family and the offer to Champion your soon to be wife in the Tourney in the coming days iis placed one he gladly accepts. Though you doubt he’ll do much good as thin and tiny as he is, likely to be eliminated by a stiff breeze.

The night is enjoyable, though short, Isis retires early, requesting Lucas to escort her to her room, by your leave. She promises to speak to you at length after the Wedding, speaking of how excited she is to meet Obella, and how handsome Victus was, he looks just like his father, her exact words. Archie and Lady Estermont retire to the yard, surprisingly Archie was rather suave with her, she was putty in his hands, but any time Isis spoke to him he fell apart. Something you shared a laugh with your sister more than once. It felt good. The pain in your heart replaced by happiness for once. You could feel it building, the good, things turning towards your benefit. Outside your men feasted, their last meal in a sense before war broke out, the beginning stages of a conflict that would finally put this to an end.

At the end of the night you find yourself standing upon the roof of Steadhold, a cup in your hand, your usual gear left alone as you stared out to nowhere in particular tonight. Your sister was home, you no longer felt the call of the Narrow Sea. But in your heart of hearts-
>>
“In your heart you know the moment is fleeting,” Mason finishes, as if reading your mind.

“Fleeting as the wind. But I will enjoy it while I can,” you respond downing the rest of your drink and turning to face your best friend.

Mason looks over your shoulder, out towards the Princewood, “It’ll be yours soon enough Brynden. As will she,” he pauses, scratching at the back of his head, “Brynden can… I ask a favor?”

“Anything Mason.”

“Well… It’s leave rather. I um… You know I don’t do… Romance? I guess, well. I… Bloody Seven. I wish leave to marry Lady Elionwy. She is… A wonderful woman. And… I have not been this happy since. Well. You know-”

You place a hand up, allowing your smile to return. Mason didn’t need to ask your permission but he was loyal to a fault, it was his way. And you could tell the love he bore for her was real. Even in drunken mind you recalled how fiercely she fault to save him, how little she left his bedside while he recovered. Your mind also recalls Dontos’ words, to land Mason, make him your banner, true and proper. Give the marriage meaning. You did not know if you could do it now, or soon. But a present perhaps?

>>46079886
Aren't we like 90% sure she doesn't want one? She already has a kid she doesn't want to create any rival claims for.
>>
>>46079752
That would necessitate some really, really weird circumstances. Like... I don't even know where to begin set of weird entirely unlikely to happen circumstances.

>>46079886
I think that's kind of the point. Alexes doesn't want anyone to make any rival claims to her son. And big scary Black Knight of Malroy would scare off anyone wanting to trying anyway.

>>46079894
They don't actually. It would be harder to get to your amount of troops, because I House Rule them a bit to only roll their House Fortunes once every 3 months. But the initial House Creation would probably give them anywhere from 300-500 troops with little effort.

“Seven, you know what? Forget it, forget I mentioned it. Wine talking again, sorry Brynden. I’ll… See myself, um, off,” Mason says turning abruptly and making beeline for exit.

You blink a few times and then give chase, “Mason! Mason, wait, fucking Seven above wait you fucking dolt,” you grip onto his shoulder and slump onto him, the wine finally hitting you all at once, and slur out “Yes. Mason, you can marry her. You’re my closest friend Mason, your happiness is mine. Be happy for once damn it.”

“Seven Brynden you reek of wine, I’m taking you- Wait. What? I can?”

“Yup,” you blurt out happily.

For a moment it looks like Mason is going to drop you, but instead he picks you up in a bear hug that you can feel crushing your ribs, “Thank you Brynden. You’ve no idea what this means. I… I can have children and…”

“And they’ll be legitimate. Better names than flower, you always toyed around with Blackflower, right? Heirs to a House Blackflower,” you say in half slurs.

“No Brynden that’s not my life, they’d grow up here, in service,” Mason laughs.

“No Mason you… No,” you stumble over, “I’m going to land you. Steadhold use to have a Tower, over there, across the bridge, Blackbridge Tower it was called. Family lived there. Well, I’m damn near fresh out. And you’re the closest thing I have. You’ll be landed in the Tower, and have a House. Your children will grow up to be heirs to a House, not in service.”

Mason stares at you for a moment, unsure of your words, “This isn’t the wine talking is it?”

“Even if it is. Mason. I don’t go back on promises. You saved my life once, I was ready to drown myself in some winesink in Lys. You’ve been by side for so long, you’ve taken the House upon your shoulders, always by my side. Now… It’ll be as my equal.”
>>
Mason sighs and looks to the side, “Never as your equal, but close Brynden. Thank you. Now let’s get you to bed before you vomit all over yourself. The bloody things I do for you...”

---

The next morning comes quickly, and with a pounding headache, you’d think by now your body would be use to over indulgence but the hangovers never quite went away like they did when you were younger. Today you were expecting two major arrivals, Lady Alexes Chelsted with your Uncle. And the Dornish party, including your soon to be wife. It stirred something in you remembering her, the thought she was already with children bringing a degree of happiness to your thoughts. Though you hadn’t forgotten the other, poor little Dorian, Rickard Wence had sent you a letter telling you that he had them relocated to Maidenpool a little bit up north. King’s Landing was too toxic for the young woman and he had a sister there that could look after them. All in all, likely a good choice for the youth, the Mootons were good folk, perhaps you could see him in their service someday. You decide to stay in bed a moment longer before a knock upon your door interrupts you, Arron Qorgyle damn near bouncing inside.

“My Lord Brynden, the outriders have arrived. My father will be here within the hour!” he says excitedly.

“In an… Bloody Seven an hour!” You yell jumping out of your bed, “Arron. Tell everyone to get ready. Seven I thought we had until his afternoon. I am going… Um get dressed and I will meet you in the grand hall, yes? Alright. Good. Go! GO!”

Arron stares at you wide eyed before scrambling out the door as you disrobe and begin your morning ritual in the fastest manner possible.

---

“You took your time Brynden,” Isis says to you almost mockingly as you take your place next to her outside the castle proper, “Thought you would expect me greet your betrothed.”
>>
You roll your eyes, placing a kiss upon her cheek to quell her words, her arm interloping with your own to help her stand. The train is slow but you can see a noted difference in it between ones of the northern lands. Everything is so extravagant, the colors of the Dornish Houses, their steeds, it felt so foreign, reminded you of times across the Sea. Leading the train is Lord Quentyn Qorgyle, his smile evident from afar as he rushes towards your castle and in one quick movement dropping down from his horse, “Lord Malroy! It is so good to see you again. My son is he..?”

“Well, Arron. Come,” you respond after taking Lord Quentyn’s hand in a firm handshake, the lad pushes through the lines and runs into his father’s arms, who picks him up into a swinging hug.

“Seven alive you’ve gotten so big lad,” Quentyn says with a laugh, “Tell me, does Lord Malroy train you well?”

Arron nods happily, “Yes father. He is an excellent teacher. And I’ve made friends too!”

Quentyn smiles to you and places his son down, “I see you had some luck getting him out of his shell. His mother swore he was hardly dornish at all the way he acts. She will be joyed to see him.”

The day draws long as the rest of the wedding procession comes into town, you meet Santagars, Jordaynes, Daynes, people you did not even know existed. Isis begs leave but instead you find her a chair and she stays with a slight pout. Each and everyone greets you like family, like you were born and raised dornish yourself, it was an odd feeling but good all the same. It’s not until the afternoon you see the final carriage arrive and make its way up through Steadhold, the smallfolk following with flowers and cheers until the defensive wall where the guard forms a line after. Oddly enough she is flying the standards of both House Qorgyle and House Martell. You can feel anticipation within your heart, the lump in your stomach growing.
>>
>>46080952
Maximum bro hug incomming, manly tears welcome
>>
Zaro Hoten opens the door to the carriage, and out steps a beauty beyond words, you hadn’t forgotten her appearance, but your heart yearned for it at night. Her form against yours, the pools of blue that drank your wildfire and calmed your heart. She wears a dress of red sandsilk, not so daring as she usually wore, instead safely loose, a shaw covering her shoulders. You can see the faint bump of her stomach, the child. Your child. She approaches you, a woman following quietly behind with her own guard.

“Lord Malroy.”

“Lady Qorgyle.”

Obella smiles at you the white of her teeth contrasting with tan skin to be that much brighter, “My Prince was unfortunately unable to attend the wedding. In his stead, his wife, Lady Mellario of Norvos insisted upon taking his place.”

Your mouth hangs agape for a moment, and Obella places her hand under your chin pushing it closed and with a smooth motion running it through your beard to your face, drawing closer, and moving your hand upon her stomach. A kick nearly frightens you, but in the same motion brings you such joy.

You attempt to pull away from the moment even if so briefly, “My Lady Mellario. Welcome to my home, Steadhold. If I had known you were coming I would have made grander arrangements. I-”

“This is quite alright Lord Malroy. They tell me you keep an interesting Household all the same,” she allows you to take her hand a quick kiss before looking over you, “Lady Lysa Tully?”

“Lady Mellario. What a pleasure,” Lysa Tully responds flatly, staring daggers into the other woman.

Seven help us all.

Alright sorry for the abrupt ending. And really short thread with lots of big posts. I needed to through all this mess to finally get to the Wedding and some bigger plot points. But yeah. I won't be around after the thread, I unfortunately have some stuff to do tonight. So sorry again, not the best thread, just needed to get some stuff out of the way.

Anyway, next thread is Saturday, 19 March at 2PM EST. I promise. And we'll see where this mess goes.

If the thread is still up when I'm done with my stuff I'll answer questions. Sorry again guys.

AWW SHIT DORAN'S WIFE
>>
>>46081075
Thanks for the run anyways boss.

>>46081058
Oh shit.
>>
>>46081075
Thanks for running boss!

>>46081083
>>46081101
We're fucked.
>>
>>46081075
Thanks for running father!
>>
>>46081175
Not so much, but this is quite a dangerous meeting. Although William managed to get Oberyn, Tywin and Robert in the same room for his wedding
>>
What I don't get is why Alyssa is staring daggers at Mellario. Is she that upset that she isn't the highest lady there?
>>
>>46081224
She still is technically as the wife of the hand of the king.
>>
It won't be pretty wen Darkstar learns of his sister death. Is he there?
>>
>>46081275
Darkfaggot is pretty young if I'm not mistaken at this point in time.
>>
>>46081224
more like the fact that the Crown wasn't informed of the Princess Consort coming here. That's like a fucking breach of protocol I'd guess.
>>
What's next the fat bastard crashing this party?
>>
>>46081267
True and I blanked at that part.

>>46081312
Is it? I have no clue about that type of thing. If anything holy shit Brynden's wedding is crazy right now. And people are still to arrive.
>>
>>46081294
He's around 15 if he was born in 270 and 11 if it was in 274. Either close to be/allready a knight or a squire
>>
When are we going to inform the Daynes of what happened to Lady Nera? Or was that informed in a raven?
>>
>>46081364
This is the incident that turned him into the edgiest fuck the Realm didn't need.
Maybe that, or Victus fucked his shit up.
>>
>>46081267
Also they're both wives of Lord paramounts (/equivalents) anyway.
>>
>>46081400
Darkstar came to be because Victus kept it in his pants.
>>
>>46081344
I'd have a laugh if Bobby B decided to wedding crash.
>>
>>46081344
Well, if Bobby decides to drop by we should respond to his precense with tactical bro-activities like hunting, racing, 'let's-you-and-me-sneak-out-from-under-our-wives-and-smash-a-bandit-camp'ing, and falconry.
>>
>>46081473
>Bobby
>doing that with a Targ loyalist
>>
>>46081473
Had this image of Bobby B acting like Marky Mark.
>Outta my way Redwards fucking shits!
>>
>>46081529
Bobby does that with everyone, he fucking forgave Greyjoy
>>
>>46081529
We're not a targ loyalists any more than Archie is.
>>
>>46081619
Our house is a staunch targ loyalist and we hang out with all the other houses who were loyal to the targ.

We are Targ loyalist.
>>
>>46081644
>with all the other houses who were loyal to the targ.
All of 'em would means the Saltygars.
>>
>>46081614
But does the Greyjoy have the hair?
>>
>>46081644
We also told a bunch of other loyalists to go fuck themselves.
>>
>>46081364
I had Darkstar down as fifteen, sister was 16.

>>46081224
I always read Lysa Tully as incredibly petty and jealous. How often do you think she's been crowned the Queen of Love and Beauty? This is a small Tourney, maybe a 100 knights, 20 or so are Tully/Arryn men. She thought she had a good chance of being crowned with some other attendees defecting to her for favor, or even some of your own. Now there's Mellario and her huge group of dorne knights. Some are on your side, but a lot want favor from the princess consist.

So it's a three way battle for a petty title at what really amounts to a small time wedding. It was my way of making the Tourney more interesting

That said she's the last surprise guest. No one else major.

Anyway, for real gone now.
>>
and just finished reading up after work

Holy shit this is going to be a bitch fest we have drug our sister into, and i bet Tully drags Isis into hanging with her so she has someone to complain to.

We should really organize some family time things just in case.
>>
>>46081746
aww no viper bro?

dissapoint but thanks for running Father

oh god the bitchfest will be something to behold next thread
>>
If any of our knights win they better give the title to obella or our sister
>>
>>46081644
We weren't here. Casting us on a particular side based on who our family picked is the same as assuming Archie is a targ loyalist. Its not like killing him would do anything but put stannis on the iron throne.
>>
>>46081855
That would have been hilarious as fuck if he had showed up. Still wanna try to keep him alive because he was one of my favorite characters from the books.
>>
>>46082120
Father said that we would only have a minimum effect on the grand canon.
>>
I bet obella Is already busy planning on redecorating our castle
>>
>>46082215
I know. But he gets built up so much with so much tension and drama. Then he goes and does by being retarded at the worst time for it. I mean he HAD the fight won. If he just stayed to the plan and not go full herpaderp about vengeance he'd have walked away from that fight.
>>
>>46082266
Mate, we are going to wake up in a different bedroom to what we went asleep in.
>>
>>46082292
And she'll have thrown out all our socks with holes in them. Taken down our mercs banners and shaved us!
>>
>>46082335
Nah man, im sure she loves the beard. But will insist it goes because it tickles...

The socks thing is going to have that reminiciant moment whereby bryden has to throw out his favouret beat the fuck up socks that have been patched by actuall seamstresses so many times its just made of patches.
>>
Looki forward to Isis and obella meeting.
>>
>>46082556
I'm looking forward to Obella meeting Archie.
>>
>>46082556

Did we invite our fat gay banker mate?
>>
>>46083274
Barq Zos went with Benjin to the Citadel, right?
I doubt the banker will come/stay if he doesn't have his chocolate
>>
>>46083567
Not yet. But we should really had invited him. It's a good idea to stay on your banks positive side
>>
>>46079874
Dontos has never been with a women, let alone court one, Father confirmed it on his ask. You can't really make a judgement call on the full breadth of someone's orientation until they've at least tried with the opposite sex.
>>
>>46083730
No... You... Can pretty much judge their interest regardless? He's never been with a woman let alone courted one because he has no interest in women, he COULD be asexual but at the very least the rumors would suggest he's gay. Possibly gay, definitely unstraight.
>>
>>46083977
I've known people who've shown little interest in the opposite sex but had a chance encounter that opened them up to the idea. Dontos has never experimented is all I'm saying, which doesn't exclude him still being hard up for dudes as well.
>>
>>46084161
Father pretty much confirmed he is gay in earlier threads.
>>
>>46084187
Yes I'm aware it has been confirmed he's into dudes, but I'm just saying that that he might someday like a girl. Sexuality isn't straight up binary, I'm into male to 'female' trans but not actual full on bara dudes, it really all depends on the person. Dontos may be pretty inflexible in his sexuaity though, I don't know
>>
>>46084387
He's not just "not interested" he seems straight up disgusted. And it's not like that's likely to be closeted overreaction given he'd be better off ifnhe COULD stand women.
>>
Got back super late, thread is about to drop off but I'll answer the little bit here.

>regarding Dontos' sexuality

I think I've made it abundantly clear Dontos can't even interact with women without it becoming an incident. He has absolutely no interest in them now, or ever. He's gold star gay. Lady Alexes is entirely playing to this fact, she knows she won't have to worry about anything and if Dontos ever decides he's interested in a man again, she'd happily help cover it up.

>>46081855
I had thought about including him but decided on Doran's wife instead just because of Lysa Tully's involvement. Maybe Arryn had ulterior motives behind his wife attending, it just had a convenient and olive branch looking mask. Who knows. A little bit of something to spice up a rather boring affair otherwise.

>>46081644
I'd say yes and no to this. Your alliance with the Crackclaw Point Lords, known Targaryen loyalist puts you in that camp. But your dispute with the Celtigars and Velaryons also puts you on the outside of it. Then there's the Dornish relations, and you closeness with the Hand of the King. Really all it's a big mess, no one can really peg you like say the Darrys were.

>>46082371
Oh no she hates the beard. Clean shaven Brynden all the way for Obella. Its one of my little playful quirks of their relationship I plan to mention in little exposition bits I love to do.

>>46082556
They'll actually get along relatively well. Obella has about the same read on Brynden as Isis does. Only the latter knows him far better. Obella might even be inclined to ask her advice.

>>46082765
Oh what a joy it will be.

>>46083274
Damn it I knew I was forgetting someone. I think I'll include him, just because he was one of my favorites to write. I mean it makes sense to invite him after all. And it isn't too far of a journey.
>>
>>46086676
>Damn it I knew I was forgetting someone. I think I'll include him, just because he was one of my favorites to write. I mean it makes sense to invite him after all. And it isn't too far of a journey.

Awesome, but we don't have any dark chocolate for him so he might not be as entertained as before.
>>
>>46086719
Oh but there's plenty of dornish treats to be enjoyed. He will be more than entertained.

Poor Barq Zos, I can't believe I did that to him.
>>
>>46086759
To be fair, it was quite honestly one of the funniest things I've ever read. It felt really ASOIAF as well. I thought GRR the fat fuck himself wrote that scene.
>>
>>46086676
>Your alliance with the Crackclaw Point Lords, known Targaryen loyalist puts you in that camp.
Hey we've made every reasonable diplomatic effort to baratheons royalists we don't have personal disputes with, at this point if we're a targ loyalist it's everyone's fault but our own.
>>
Bump
>>
>>46086676
Father you have been dodging my question about whatever or not Victus is Azor Ahai!
>>
>>46077574
The more I think on it, the more I like the brazen horse style execution method that anon suggested. It's an effigy of our own house symbol, one Royce dismisses out of hand, and it's a method that symbolizes our burning desire for revenge. Royce should be cooked alive in the heat of our rage, to burn like he has made us burn with unadulterated hatred. Then when there is nothing left in thr brazenhorse but shiny pieces of charcoal, stomp on them with Goldsong and piss away the ashes. Royce deserves nothing less for all that he has done and will continue to do.
>>
>>46093673
I love it when you talk dirty anon.
>>
>>46086676
>They'll actually get along relatively well.

Great!
>>
>>46093818
But they are both high on pregnancy hormones!
>>
>>46093880
Even better!

Isis -did- say we were handsome.
>>
>>46094261
There you are. I have been looking for my warhammer, i must have misplaced it somewhere after i caved in Dragonboy's breastplate.
>>
>>46088261
Its nothing I'm particularly holding against you guys. It just happens some Houses tend to be more willing to deal with you than others. And you guys haven't actually met that many rebel Houses come to think of it.

>>46092575
Oh I'll never tell. Yeah no.

>>46093673
I wonder when the time comes for it, if people will actually vote to do it. I wonder further the ramifications of going full Rains of Castamere on the House Redward too.
>>
>>46094780
We've sent invites out but they didn't want anything to do with us. So it's also them thinking us as a loyalist that is pushing us to other loyalists which is confirming their bias in the first place.
>>
>>46094780
>Oh I'll never tell. Yeah no.

But the only alternative is that he isnt! And that is simply not acceptable.

BUt seriously now. I have been thinking about a small way we can help our sister. See if we can ask Lysa Tully to bring her to kings landing intill she gives birth and a bit after till the children are old enough to travel. Say something like that the drafty redward tower is not place for a woman of her condition and that we hope she could help us. Flatter her and so on. I think it would be a good idea if she got a bit away from Royce and if he has to deal with him it will be in Kings Landing where he cant do much to her

We could tell Lysa how important children are.

Make sure she knows how fragile they can be.

Ensure she's aware that they need protecting - almost obsessively, if you can make it happen.
>>
>>46094927
Holy shit that is brilliant.
>>
>>46094805
Though on the flip side you have Westerns within your household now. Lots of varying people come through your way, no one is really going out of their way to avoid you now. Later on it'll be a bigger point during the War of the Five Kings. But for now relations are neutral, if you throw a huge tourney they will come.

>>46094848
>>46094927
Not a bad plan, not a bad plan at all. Lysa would just... want something in return. Isis is going to end up bored to tears interacting with her, but she might be swayed if you talked to her about it.
>>
>>46095021
>Not a bad plan, not a bad plan at all. Lysa would just... want something in return. Isis is going to end up bored to tears interacting with her, but she might be swayed if you talked to her about it.

The alternative is going back to Redward should be a pretty good arguement.

>Lysa would just... want something in return

I am sure Obella will understand our sacrifice.
>>
>>46095021
No kids and no dickings from Brynden.
>>
>>46094951
>>46095021
Of course, it could be that we'd be barking up the wrong tree with Lysa.

We do have Dornish visiting.

Now, the Hand's men are here to serve as an escort for Lady Lysa and our sister - but if Isis happened to go into labour when the Arryn party was due to leave, well, it'd be a shame to hold up such a vaunted presence as the Lady Arryn herself.

If we can get them to entrust Isis to us so as to not delay their travel, we might ask that our in-laws host our sister back at their seat... assuming she'd like to go.

We might be overstepping our mark a little - but it would take Isis far beyond the borders of the Crownlands, well out of the reach of Royce. With relations with Dorne so strained, the Crown would be unlikely to make demands of them, and it would be much harder for Royce to get her back from Dorne than King's Landing.

The problem of course would be how we'd get the times to work in our favour. We don't control when the contractions come.

Of course, if someone were to accidentally serve Isis some tansy tea for breakfast that day, real-world abortifactants have been known to bring on early pregnancy.
>Lysa would just... want something in return.
>>
>>46095394
She is nine months pregnant. Going to Dorne would be fatal to her
>>
>>46095565
Might be fatal to her.

Might.
>>
>>46095047
Isis wants away from him but at the same time she knows she's one of the few things keeping him in check. Imagine allowing a rabid dog to stew in a cage when his meal is just out of reach.

But again, Royce tripping up might be what you want.

>I am sure Obella will understand our sacrifice

Ultra competitive hormonal Obella?

>>46095064
Oh seven no, something far more reasonable but still playing to her ego.

>>46095394
That would definitely be the harder sell, if they were already born maybe. A trip to Dorne right now would be down right dangerous and they are about to go into their more reclusive mode soon. After the Tourney in Highgarden it will be hell contacting just about anyone down there. They might not be down to foster Isis' kids at this critical point.

Oh, for those that asked so long ago. Page and I are talking, plans are being made.
>>
>>46096170
If its a girl we name it after lysa and we have all our knights crown her the queen of love and beauty if they were to win
>>
>>46096170
Will it involve Dorian or someone else?
>>
>>46096320
>naming your child after your bastard's dead prostitute mother

Yeah I can see that going over well.

>>46096351
Nope, bigger. But that's all I'll say.

That being said, I have no idea what to do with Dorian yet. Wondering if that anon for wanted to run a Sellsword in Essos quest still wants to use him or not. But I am definitely leaning towards having him take the opposite path of his half brother. So good chance he ends up being that sellsword someday
>>
>>46096508
So she wants Victus huh? HELL NO SHE GETS NOWHERE NEAR HIM!
>>
>>46096508
>Yeah I can see that going over well.
Not him, but I'm going to vote to leave the names up to Obella.

/tg/ is shit at coming up with names.
>>
>>46096508
I meant it as in naming it after Lady Lysa Arryn. But i guess we could name it Alyssa instead.
>>
What do we do if Brynden only has girls?

Actually, how many kids should Brynden have with Obella? I'm thinking start a dynasty. Minimum 5.
>>
>>46097108
5 is a good start and if he has no boys we can petition the king to legitimize Victus.
>>
>>46097108
I'm cool with that.

>Only girls

And then Dad turned into D&D
>>
>>46097229
>No incest.
Dunno' what you're talking about.

I was gonna' say we raise our eldest daughter as a warrior and have Obella school her on Dornish customs.

Our daughters could continue the line.
>>
>>46097108
5 minimum! Christ alive. Well, I guess it makes sense, Brynden is... Fertile, though that would put his total at 9. Damn son.

>>46097270
I think she'd be down for it. But between her spy missions. So there will be some age gap. Watch Brynden end up with a Stark family.

>>46096532
Closer, she would want a couple things. One of them might be to foster a child. Particularly as her son is born and 'needs friends'. Sacrifices. Very interesting sacrifices.

>>46096539
My significant other has a literal book of names, she helps me name a lot of my characters if I'm running dry.

Right now she says Lorelei for a girl and I say Emmon for a boy. That's just me though.

>>46096585
Oh no, I know exactly what you meant. It would just be weird, amusing, but weird given the circumstances. Also isn't Alyssa William's wife's name?

>>46097186
Marry them to Golden Company captains when we ally with the true King, Aegon Blackfyre?

>Oh no, I know exactly what you meant. It would just be weird, amusing, but weird given the circumstances. Also isn't Alyssa William's wife's name?

Yeah i could just picture Obella after Brynden suggest it. "Isnt that the name of your bastard son's whore mother?!"

Also i remember linking you lots of Westerosi names from the Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings 2. Should probably be a few there. Besides it is possible for people having the same name.

Two boys with Dorian, but he'll likely never know them. So all up to big brother Victus to 'protect' his gaggle of baby sisters.

Politically speaking, it isn't a bad match.

New House words there. I really do wonder who Brynden will support. I gave my thoughts on it on my Ask, but who you guys pick is beyond me.

Oh please. Obella would probably join us. Heck that Estermont girl that is at our wedding is her type according to Father. Bet we could have a fun wedding night with her.

Ah, I knew this would happen. This is why HDW is good in theory and bad in principle, because people on /tg/ are naturally submissive and stop playing tough characters around fictional women. Obella was probably the best candidate because she'd let Brynden be Brynden and you're stepping all over it.
>>
>>46098163
She is still a person anon, she has been stated by dad to be incredibly possessive and jealous. If we do any sort of whoring it would have to be with her.
>>
>>46098011
>Oh, we won't have a problem being friendly with the King.
I mean, he is the person who gave Isis to Redward in the first place.

Am I really the only one that still holds that against him?
>>
>>46098424
No you are not. But people doesnt like that stuff to get in the way of the own likes and dislike of the characters. Just you want till we meet Tyrion. I am willing to bet that everyone will bend over backward to be his best buddy,.
>>
>>46098424
It's not like Redward dragged Isis infront of him and was like "I'm going to rape this girl, I need your consent". He probably just got told that someone was making a claim on someone's titles who had died and was going to marry a girl from their house and went "go ahead". Robert will know our feels, he lost Lyanna like we lost Isis.
>>
>>46098510
That does not absolve him. Same reason i dont let the shit Catelyn did slide just because she did it in good faith
>>
>>46098469
>I am willing to bet that everyone will bend over backward to be his best buddy
I don't want to believe that, but experience with /tg/ says you're probably right.

On this subject, it's just a gut feeling but I get the idea that the Brynden/Obella dynamic is a lot like the one between Geralt and Yennefer.

She understands that he might occasionally fuck around a bit because that's the kind of person he is - and she fell in love with him - but so long as she stays queen of his heart and he stays away from her friends, she can generally manage to turn a blind eye.

Which is not to say she won't be snappy about it on occasion (because she will) but at the end of the day they are in love.
>>
>>46098707
Goddamnit Targfag, shitpost more so I can dislike you. It's hard when you make quality posts.
>>
>>46098469
Depends on the circumstances of our meeting. If we happen to watch him slapping the Brat Prince around then you're probably right. Otherwise, we'd probably just avoid him along with the rest of his family.

I don't know, I think Brynden will find the fact that a dwarf is heir to Casterly Rock highly amusing

About that....

Yeah, she didn't fare too well in the games. Triss was by far the superior sorceress.

But in my playthrough he didn't end up with either of those scheming harpies.

I hope that dornish slut get fat from all her pregnancies and that Brynden will find a real woman who he can love and stay together with!

Someone with blond hair and can sing, maybe even from the Vale!

Stop this Gisselle. Just stop. Your being very pathetic right now. If Brynden saw this would be want you?

Like, personally if playing to Alyssa Tully's ego or doing her a solid will keep Isis out of Redward's hands then I am all for it. I can just imagine things escalating so quickly that Redward pulls a 'if I can't have you, then no one can' thing and kill Isis before he loses everything. So yeah, fucking all for doing literally anything to keep Isis away from him to avoid that scenario
>>
Could victus be a varg?
>>
>>46097868
Yeah really Dany or Aegon are the horses I'd bet on, maybe Dany more then Aegon because we might get some boons from her given Dontos was one of the loyal knights that sequestered herand her broher away. I don't know if we can support her in secret beforehand though, there's a lot of risk there, but then with Obella and Eliowny in our house we have a pretty legit spy networ. They could help us in sending care packages or information to Daenyrs
>>
>>46100848
Speaking of Spy Network, we need to set that up now that Obella is here
>>
>>46100768
I suspect the Malroys do carry the same gene that lets the Targaryens, Starks (and some other houses) warg into their animals.

So he could be - except I also believe the argument that it's a mitochondrially linked gene passed down matrilinearly, so unless Brynden's lowborn lover was a secret targaryen it's unlikely.

This would also mean that if our house gets a male heir, the special Malroy connection to our horses could die out if he doesn't marry another house with the talent... which is the reael reason i'm sort of hoping Brynden only gets badass female kids - (not the incest thing.)
>>
>>46098510
Nah, straight up fuck Bobby B, I am fine with paying the bare minimum of lip service to him to keep him off our backs but I just don't see Brynden having much admiration for the man that consented to that sham of a union between Isis and Redward

>>
>>46097890
Thank you, appreciate it very much.

>>46097900
Probably at the beginning until the some burning the Sept thing. Even Brynden has a line religiously.

>>46097905
I don't think Brynden will ever interact with Robert beyond war and occasional court visits. Despite being a crownsland lord he isn't just that active politically speaking. And that's all it is really in the end. Winning favors. Dumb favors from a dumb King.

>>46098424
I've always been surprised people don't mention this more.

>>46098469
For this very reason I don't plan to include Tyrion much or at all. Just not a character I think I can write well and I don't want people to use meta knowledge.

>>46098707
That's actually kind of how I see it. But with Obella more expecting Brynden to be faithful as time advances.

>>46098897
Brynden will find it hysterical. He knows the how much Tywin will boil.

>It's something that someone has guessed before // Any hints as to when that was?
>Nah, I like that it's a big secret. It is probably the most magical I'll get though.
Yeah, my money is on him being a skin change.
>>
>>46101277
I wouldn't bet against you. I mean just this thread we have this gem:

>>46076706
>“Steady boy,” you find yourself saying softly to Goldsong, the old horse was a trained hand at this, he was like an extension of yourself, could feel your emotions and directions before you ever communicated them to him. Malroy blood your father use to tell you, ever son of the line had the connection. They were our dragons.

If that's not being shockingly blatant I don't know what would be.
>>
>>46101389
That's more Brynden's Animal Cohort quality coming through. Hereditary thing. Big reason the Rare Bloodline is so important to the family. Without it, they lose the connection. Brynden doesn't get that with normal horses.

Victus did inherit that from his father. Typical of the male line.
>>
>>46101177
Didn't you previously straight up say that that Obella wouldn't complain about Brynden whoring but at the same time would take it as free rein to continue using sex as part of her spy duties?
>>
>>46100768
>>46100966
>>46101128
>>46101277
>>46101389
Well shit, with all those context clues that are being brought up, I'm convinced. If that's the case, how likely is for Bryden's other children to inherit skin changing?
>>
>>46101616
He did, but he also just said as time goes on she expects him to be more faithful. That's not really surprising given her personality, is it?
>>
>>46101625
I mean, father seems to be working off his own theories, which is cool - but at the same time makes it damn difficult to predict which of his children have the potential to be wargs.

I have my own (inferior) opinions, and they would mean that genetically all of brynden's daughters would have that potential, but none of his sons unless Obella has a similar bloodline.
>>
>>46101616
>>46101668
Frankly ill keep voting for bryden to burry the D in faithfully. Theres no gain from sleeping around.
>>
Victus gonna squire dorian if I have anything to say about it. Possibly after a long period of Bryden being incredibly unsubtle (getting super drunk every year on Dorian's nameday is something I'd especially like to see.)
A promise Bryden made doesn't restrict Victus after all.
>>
>>46101700
>Decide to be complete opposite of the kind of man Obella fell in love with right away
>>
>>46101698
Hold on, how does that theory hold up with the starks then? because their all children of a male line crossed with a normal one (the tullys).

Then again, we know the stark bloodline is special somehow.
>>
>>46101698
If things are actually managing to stick around in the male line for that long, shit is straight up mystical, nothing to do with genetics.
>>
>>46101727
we got blatantly told that being unfaithful will mean our wife fucks over men. If you want the whoring bryden back, then drag obella into it and get her to pick out a third partner to drag into the fun.
>>
>>46101727
We've been straight up told what will make Obella happy on this front. She wants other women to want us (and thus for us to continue to be an incredible flirt) but for herself to be the gatekeeper of who actually gets us.
>>
>>46101616
Oh no that's definitely still the case. Takes two the tango type of ordeal, she'll behave if Brynden does, and as they get older and settle down, things will begin to change a bit. Having Brynden's child is really going to change how she acts initially.

>>46101698
I had never actually heard your theory before, so that's new to me entirely. But yeah I am working on a different set of rules entirely.

That being said. I don't plan on it. Minimal special snowflakes here.
>>
>>46101728
>Hold on, how does that theory hold up with the starks then?
Ned and Benjen were not wargs.

It's my belief that Catelyn is the source of the Stark kids' powers, through her ancestors the Whents, and their ancestor Danelle Lothston of Harrenhal, who is a mythical figure who had a mystical connection to bats.
>>
>>46101849
Father. Is this correct ?
>>46101108
>>
>Gosh, Victus! How come everyone loves you?
>I wouldn't worry about it.
>>
>>46102034
>Victus isnt actually Victus
>Victus is a skin changer who saw Brynden love Victus so much that he wanted it
>He killed the real Victus and took his place
>>
>>46102065
It wouldn't be the most fucked up thing GRRM ever wrote.

Look up Meathouse Man if you've got some time.
>>
>>46101881
I dont buy that theory. There just seems to be too much coincidence alongside the books main storyline for it to be transfered that way, and george does not do neat and tidy coindicences. The more probable outcome is that the genes and such forth are dormant except during the cycles of heightened magic (abnormally long summers and winters).
>>
>>46102187
Well, consider the "Curse of Harrenhal" that's been in effect even during a cycle of low magic.

Houses that own the castle seem to die out - but only in the male line. In the female line, their legacy is passed on.

There's also the fact that in asoiaf red haired girls are said to have mystical powers. GRRM himself married a redhead, and matrilineal genes being amazing would fit GRRM's over-arching feminist message.

But hey, if you don't buy it you don't buy it. That's what's great about these intricate tales - everybody's got their own theories.
>>
Father's thread refuses the die.

I do wonder how weird it will be for Victus when he gets a sibling. A trueborn at that.
>>
>>46102372
There seems to be a theme with special structures having unique propertys, like winterfell must always have a stark, kind of deal. Not to mention it was bathed in dragon fire from some of the strongest dragons known. Residual effects maybe? The curse of harrenhal is a weird one.
>>
>>46102450
I wouldn't worry about it...
>>
>>46102450
WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE!
>>
>>46102372
Yeah if it were something to do with a Tully mom, I'd bet on some ancient pact with the children of the forest the terms of have been long forgotten but accidentally fulfilled before "mitochondrial DNA"
