Welcome back to WrestleQuest! This is a SOL Quest in which you take the role of young Robin Winters, as he tries to make it big in the crazy world of pro-wrestling under the persona of The Ace.

Last thread, your love life became much more complicated, and you watched your trainer and mentor's retirement match. Said mentor then called you and asked to meet you in the city.

Also, since it caused a good deal of shit-flinging last thread, I'm letting you people vote amongst yourselves on this. http://strawpoll.me/7098343

>Player Question
Which wrestler was your hero as a kid?

>MONDAY, MARCH 28th 2016

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFx-5PGLgb4

It's a beautiful day on the pier. The sun is shining, the breeze is cool and relaxing, the waves of the ocean are calm. A street band are performing, as the pier is flooded with families, lovers, tons of happy faces. All except one, and that's who you have to deal with today.

You remember back to the first time you met Kevin Omega. It was two years ago. You were a fresh faced 16 year old going to train with the wrestler you spent years glued in front of your tv set for. Watching, admiring, dreaming that someday you could be just like him. The man who ignited a passion in your heart for wrestling that still burns bright today, and will keep burning until the day you die. The first time you came face to face, Kevin refused to shake your hand, called you a runt, and told you to perform 200 sit-ups before he would speak to you again. You pushed yourself so hard you vomited twice... but at the end of the day, he had spoken to you again.
>>
For all his faults... his many, many faults... you held nothing but respect for the passion the man had for his profession. Even with all the sacrifices the man made in his quest to perfect the craft... his two divorces, his countless buried friendships... his younger brother died before his career had begun to take off... there always remained a wildfire behind the eyes of Kevin Omega every time he picked up a microphone or stepped in between the ropes. The man loved wrestling, above all else. His passion served as the kindling for the fire within your own heart. Even when the sky was falling down around him, he never stopped loving what he did.

Last night, you watched from a comfortable sofa as that fire went out. Your hero ended his career, not with a bang, but with a whimper. The childhood fantasy is beginning to feel more like a cautionary tale. If Kevin Omega's fire can burn out, who's to say yours can't either? This was a man you believed would never, ever give up, and yet today he stands before you, head hung low of the railing of the pier, as people pass by without so much as acknowledging his presence. It seems that all these years you've been nothing more than a stupid fan. You never truly knew the man at all.

"I really fucking hate this song." His gruffness and aching in his voice tell the story of a man with nothing left.

>Of course you would.
>Is that why you called me out here? To tell me you hate the Carpenters?

Bret Hart. Even when he was a heel, he was my hero.

Brett Heart. I mean he wasn't the best but he just always had a good match. I'm probably butchering his name though. Who's yours Booker?

I always loved The Undertaker and Kane, thought they were badass, but my favorite was Ric Flair.

As a kid, I was all about Savage, then later it was Bret. Jericho's my all time-favourite, though.
>>
>>46054659
Seems everyone but Lost liked the Hitman.
>>
>>46054730
I liked Hart, but something about wrestlers who didn't talk and had the dumbest backstories was fun to me. Ric Flair was just ridiculous which is why at that age he was my favorite.

>>What happened yesterday, man?

>>46054802
Relax man. I was just teasing you. But yeah I miss Andre the giant, The Iron Shiekh, Sergeant Slaughter, Ravishing Rick Rude, Macho Man Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Jake the Snake. You know the old school old time wrestlers.
>>
>Still just four players in-thread.

Favorite wrestlers currently performing? Who are you guys excited to see?
Not an easy one for me to answer, actually, but it's probably the Wolves.
>>
>>46054893
No one really. I just stopped watching around 02-03. Didn't draw me in like it used to.
>>
>>46054855
I know man, just explaining my choice. Benoit was pretty good too.

>>46054893
I'm far too busy most of the time to watch much wrestling, but I am interested in what WWE is going to do now that most of their big sellers are out for the season.
>>
Likely gonna be the only one but my favorite as a kid was Edge
>>
>>46054937
Didn't he go crazy and kill himself? Or am I getting too old for this shit?
>>
>>46055048
I'm too old to have liked Edge as a kid. But I he was pretty good.

>>46055059
And his family. Turns out that the Dynamite Kid isn't the best role model when it comes to maintaining your health. Who knew?
>>
>>46055059
Yes he did, sad stuff.

>What happened yesterday, man?

"What happened? I retired. It's pretty simple." Kevin doesn't even turn his head to look at you, instead opting to stare out into the ocean. "I'm done."

You fire back in disbelief. "You can't be done! You're Kevin Omega!"

"And what? Because I'm Kevin Omega I'm not allowed to be done? If anyone has any right to call it quits, it's me!" Kevin reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette.

"So... what do you want, Kevin. You couldn't have called me out here for no reason..."

"You were always my favourite," Kevin said, taking a drag of the cigarette. "That's not really saying much... but I hated you a lot less than the other kids. You're one of the good ones. That's why I want you to walk away."

"What, from this conversation?"

"From wrestling. You remind me so much of myself when I was your age... and I don't want you turning into me when you're my age. This business... it's a monster. It changes you in ways didn't think was possible. It eats away at your insides every single day until one day... you realise there's nothing left to eat. Deep down... you're empty. When I walked behind the curtain after that last match, I had to call someone... and I called some kid I barely know, who just happened to attend my dojo once a week for a couple years. You know why I called you, Ace? Because I didn't have anyone else. You have a girlfriend, Ace?"

You remain silent.

"Heh, I can tell that's already a complex question for you. That's what wrestling does... it makes you a worse person. I'm sure you came out here looking for some sagely advice from you old master or some cryptic Yoda bullshit, so here's what I have to say... get out of this business while you still can. I'll give you my Starrcade earnings, go to a nice college, become an accountant."

>I'm not going to do that. This is my dream.

>Would it actually make you happy if I walked away from this?

Kevin snorts. "No, it wouldn't. But it would be great if people gathered around my tombstone when I died and instead of saying 'Hey, remember this asshole?' they would day 'Hey, remember when he helped put a kid through college so he could avoid becoming an angry, bitter asshole when he grows up?'... that's what I want."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFx-5PGLgb4

"Oh sweet jesus, are they playing it AGAIN?" Kevin turned his head to the street band and shaked a fist. "Get some better material, you hacks!"

Watching the man you once looked up to act like this was difficult. There wasn't much you could bring yourself to say. "It's not really that bad for you... is it?"

"My best friend hasn't spoken to me in over ten years. My ex-wife hates my guts, and she should. I cheated on her every chance I got. Especially when I was in Japan. A few months ago... I get a call from an old flame from back in those days. I won't name her, but she was one of the top joshi wrestlers at the time. Turns out, she has a kid. My kid. And she called me to let me know that the little runt has decided they want to become a wrestler, just like their parents. I think that was the last straw for me."

Kevin let the cigarette in his hand fall from his hand of the railing and into the ocean below. He seemed to examine the drop before continuing. "A briefcase filled with my Starrcade paycheck is sitting on that bench. Take it, and promise me you'll never wrestle again. You're a good kid, Ace. You deserve better than becoming me."

Kevin then climbed over the railing. "I really fucking hate this song." He takes a deep breath, ready to jump.

>Grab him and pull him back

With little time to react, you reach out and grab Omega, pulling him back in to safety with all of your strength. The man was heavier than you expected, as you and he both fall onto the hard wooden floor of the pier, as a crowd starts to gather.

"Agh, my back! What the hell did you do that for?!" Kevin screams at you as he tries crawling to his feet. You, meanwhile, are completely speechless. "The briefcase of money was right on that bench? Why didn't you take it?"

A couple of teens, hearing this, grab the briefcase and start sprinting down the pier.

"Aww, now look what you did! Now those little shits are going to go to college!"

Breathing heavily, you scramble to your feet. "You... Kevin, you just tried to kill yourself!"

Kevin furrows his brow and shrugs. "Uhh... yeah? Weren't you listening to anything I was saying? Why are you so surprised?"

"Okay, you need some serious help. Is there anyone I can call to take care of you? Who's your emergency contact?"

"Don't have one."

He seems determined to make this difficult for you. You've never seen someone this indignant over a failed suicide attempt. You approach him and reach into his pocket, pulling out his cellphone. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I'm finding out who I can talk to. Okay, speed-dial... Domino's... Pizza Hut... I'm not going to ask what Sex Cauldron is or why it's number three on your speed-dial... fuck it, I'll keep an eye on you myself."

"Fine, I'm not going to try anything again anyway. Not after you squandered the opportunity I gave you."

"The opportunity to leave a man to die over a bribe? How screwed are your morals?"

"I'm a wrestler, Ace. I don't have any morals."

>LATER THAT DAY

You brought Kevin back to your apartment, and have been keeping an eye on him while he raids your closet and plays UPW 2k16 on your couch.

"This is where you live? This is a dump! I haven't lived in a place this ugly since 1995!"

You feel a strange mix of pity, sadness and pure anger as you're forced to spend more time with your fallen idol. You begin to wonder how things in your life managed to get so damn complicated, so damn quickly.

Eventually, his phone starts buzzing on the kitchen counter, and you answer it on his behalf.

"Hello?"

You hear a woman's voice on the other end. A very, very angry woman's voice.

"Hey shithead, where the hell are you? The show's starting in-wait, you're not the shithead I want. Did he get mugged again?!"

>He's supposed to have a show tonight?
>He's right here with me, but you may want to send someone for him.

>>
>He's supposed to have a show tonight?

"No shit, genius! You think Kevin fucking Omega's going to retire and NOT give a speech the next night? Only problem is the dumb bastard didn't show up for rehearsals today. Now, where is he?" the woman's voice demanded.

"He's right here," is all you can manage to answer. All of this still doesn't feel real to you. It's all so bizarre.

"Oh, he's Right Here, is he? Thanks, I'll be sure to send a car to Right Here and pick him up from Right Here! Where the fuck is Right Here?!"

You give the woman the address of your apartment, and she tells you she'll be there to strangle Kevin as soon as she can before hanging up.

"You didn't tell me you were supposed to be making an appearance on Warzone tonight..." you turn to Kevin, who is eating a bag of chips right out of your cupboard. It's a flavour he hates, so you know for a fact he's trying to bug you.

"Oh yeah... that retirement speech? Didn't feel like it. Decided I'd rather jump into the ocean instead, but apparently I can't have anything nice!"

"Don't you want to give one last speech to your loyal fans before calling it a career?"

Kevin scoffed. "Please, you know me better than that. Do you honestly think I should go out and give a sappy, heartfelt speech to those vultures?"

This thread has been just as engaing as yesterdays, love it! Kind of want to know both A) his real name and B) who he is modeled after.

As per the thread question: I don't know much about wrestling, only watched it as a kid. But I grew up during Eddie's reign. He was fantastic, charasmatic and a hard worker. It really was a tragedy when he died.

I don't follow much modern stuff. But I liked Kofi Kingston when he started. This may also explain my hatred for Orton and/or Orwin.

>Yes, you should.

"I should? You know what... maybe you're right, Ace. Those people watched me loyally for 25 years, they've stuck with me through thick and thin. They deserve a speech! To hell with it, I'll go out there and open my heart out to my beloved fans!"

You're taken aback. "What... r-really?"

"Yeah!" Kevin gave you a smile. "While you're here, you want to listen to what I have prepared so far? Here we go..." He clears his throat and stands in a ready stance. "I hate wrestling, and so should you. It ruined my life. I hate myself and everyone who ever encouraged me to live like this. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go kill myself now."

Kevin returns to his original stance, and continues to eat out the bag of chips. "How's that sound? I think it works, very poetic."

"You don't need to be a dick," you sigh, rubbing your temples. "The people love you."

"Yeah, only because they don't know me. Anyone who did take the time to know me is long gone. I'm done pretending for them. They want to look up to me? That's their problem. I'm not worth admiring."

You hear a knock on the door. You open it to find a rather short woman in an oversized leather longcoat. Her hair is dark brown, in a pixie cut. She has squinting eyes and a grumpy expression. "Where's the asshole?"

This must be the woman you spoke to on the phone. "And who the hell are you, for that matter? Don't tell me he managed to get someone to come along to one of his pity parties?"

>>46057339
Short answer, absolutely not. Barring a case where I completely miscount the votes. I think it cheapens the entire quest if the players can make a dumb decision then immediately get a do-over. Especially since if I allow people a retcon once, people will start requesting it for every decision they don't approve of.

Sometimes players mess up and make a mistake. Sometimes a decision doesn't reflect the intentions of all the players, and simply the players who happened to be able to vote in time. But a lot of that is okay, especially in this Quest. This is a long, LONG quest, with no clear end-game in sight. The only concrete part of WrestleQuests endgame is that the game will end when Robin retires. You are not going to be tied down by most of the decision you make forever. Players make a mistake, they will have to live with it for a while. But the game will always provide opportunity's to rectify that mistake down the road.

>I'm one of his students

The woman laughed. "Wow, so the old fart is now turning to the kids he suckered out of money for support. God, he depresses me..."

She shoves past you as she catches a glimpse of Kevin inside the apartment. "Hey dickface, grab your coat! We've got a show across town starting in half an hour! I had Vincent bump my match off the card just so I could some and pick your dumb ass up!"

"No can do, Patty. I'm not going to the show." Kevin crumpled up the bag of chips, tossed it to the ground, then seated himself on the couch.

Upon hearing her name, you realise who the woman is. Patty Perez, part of the UPW roster for the last three or four years now. Solid midcarder, she feuded with Kevin Omega briefly in a story of the hot young talent vs. the grizzled veteran. Why she of all people is acting as his babysitter, you have no idea.

"You're not going?" Patty places a hand on her hips. "I thought you were above no-shows."

"That's when I was still a wrestler."

"Look, I don't think he should be in front of a live audience right now..." you mutter.

"Why not? What stunt did you pull this time, Omega? Get drunk, break down during a karaoke performance and start stripping? Get drunk, call your ex while she's in the middle of a meeting telling her how much you miss her? Get drunk... I haven't thought of another one yet, but alcohol's involved. I just know it."

"He tried to kill himself," you blurt out.

The red in Patty's angry face flood away. All colour does in fact. The information doesn't prevent her from speaking, however.

"Was he at least drunk?"

"Nope," Kevin rested his hands behind his head with a winning smirk, "Haven't touched a drop."

Patty sighs. "Well then, you just keep finding new ways to be a complete idiot."

"No, I think I've finally wizened up to everything."

"Of course you think that, because you're an idiot. Look, just stay right there, I'm going to step outside and make a few calls." Patty pushes you aside as she makes a break for the door while pulling out her phone. "Move it scrub, important people are doing things." She steps outside the apartment to make a phonecall, as Kevin leans forward on the couch.

"So... that was Patty. I'm sure you two will hit it off."

Kevin shrugged. "You're being such a generous host, you know? Giving me food... thwarting my attempts at suicide... you really do know how to treat your guests."

"I'm serious, Kevin. Don't you have somewhere to be? What about your own home? You have a place in the city, right?"

"Don't like it there. Too big. Too empty. I'm starting to like this place a lot. Brings me back to 1995, when I had friends."

The door to the apartments start receiving some very loud bangs until you open it up and let Patty back inside. She's back to the more familiar hot-headed look after that brief moment on the phone.

"Okay, I called in, explained the situation... and you don't have to give your speech tonight. They're going to run the video package and fill the slot with a tag match."

Kevin pumped his fist in celebration.

"But since I can't trust you to act like a normal functioning adult," Patty continued, "I also called tonight off. And the next few weeks worth, just so I can keep an eye on you. Now, get in the car! I'm taking you back to yours and I am going to watch you like a hawk until you either die or stop being stupid. And if you shut your mouth for five minutes, we might just stop for ice-cream!" She turns to you. "You have to treat him like a child. He responds best to that," she explains.

She drags Kevin to his feet and starts pushing him out the door. On the way, she hands you a card with a number on it. "Take this, and call me. I'm not letting this depressing sack of crap be only my problem!"

"You better!" Patty answered, practically kicking Kevin out the door. "So, the loser trained you?"

"Yeah... he did."

"Weird, you seem like a good guy. You should probably forget everything he ever told you, unless you end up like... that." She sighed, and you catch a peak of sadness hidden within her rage. "That idiot... he's really done it this time..."

Patty closes the door behind her, and you're left trying to process everything that happened.

That was Kevin Omega. That was your hero. The man who brought you into the business, who inspired you to become who you are today. How did he fall so far? More hauntingly, are you destined to befall the same fate?

A few hours later, David returns to the apartment. It was Monday, so the TWA had a show tonight. A show you were left off of due to suspected injury. "Hey man, how was your day?"

You look up at David, a fellow trainee of Omega. You wonder whether you should tell him or not about what happened, or whether you should just shut your mouth.

>Tell him everything.
>Not much, I was just about to watch some Warzone.

You spend the next few minutes filling in everything that happened today. About the meeting with Kevin, about his attempted suicide, everything.

"Shit... that's rough."

"Yeah, it was..." you mumble as you pull youself off the couch. "It was so weird seeing him like that..."

"Why? He's always been a moody asshole."

"Yeah, but he was wild and energetic. He had a fire up his ass all the time. Now? Shit... he just gave up. He needs help."

David shrugs. "And what? You're going to help him? The only person who can help Kevin Omega is Kevin Omega. I don't know what we could do for the guy."

You press a finger to your chin, pondering on what you could possibly do.

>Maybe we could invite him on a night out with the gang?
>Maybe we could invite him to one of the shows?
>Hell, I don't know. This whole thing's a mess.

>Maybe we could invite him to one of the shows?

"You could try..." David muttered, seating himself on the couch. "Maybe he'll be interested in seeing his students perform. Maybe not. Who knows? Might as well ask. By the way, Steinberg told me to let you know you're working Friday."

You breathe a sigh of relief. You've been itching to get back in the ring. "Awesome, who against?"

"He wants you working a match against Diamond. He's planning to build for a big rematch between you and Kassius for the title, but for now he needs to make sure you're in condition to return."

Moving on, David flicked on your tv, and changed the channel over to UPW Warzone. "Hey... isn't that Owen?"

He head jerks towards the screen. Sure enough, Owen's standing in the middle of a UPW ring, making his big debut with the company. The crowd seems happy to see him, too. It's comforting. When one door closes, another one opens. You smile, hoping nothing but the best for your friend realising his dream, but you can't shake the sight of Kevin from your mind. You go beyond worrying if his life is the life ahead of you. You begin to think the same of Owen... and of David... and Kimberly... and Danny... everyone you know could become Kevin Omega in the future.

That's a very scary thought.

>TUESDAY, MARCH 29th 2016

You wake up, wanting to put yesterday's events as far out of your mind as possible. A difficult task, seeing as you are called by Kevin early in the morning.

"Yes?"

"Frank's Diner. Downtown. Now."

>Frank's Diner

"Well look who finally decided to show up!" Omega yells out to you from a booth, tying back his receding black hair in a ponytail. "Took you long enough!"

It actually only took you 10 minutes to make it from your apartment to the diner. Record time.

"What do you want, Kevin?" you ask.

"I wanted to buy you breakfast. I reward for helping me out yesterday."

You sigh, but you decide to accept the generous offer. You take the seat opposite Kevin in the booth. "You here alone?"

Kevin shakes his head. "Patty's in the bathroom. Hasn't left my side since yesterday. Poor girl's in a difficult spot."

"And what spot is that?"

"She's smart enough to know she should hate me, but she's not smart enough to know not to care about me. She doesn't want anything to do with me, but she's too kind-hearted to abandon me."

You think back to your first meeting with the pint-sized, expletive hurling powder keg that was Patty Perez. Kind-hearted was not the word coming to your mind.

>Have you considered the possibility that she doesn't actually hate you?

>Have you considered the possibility that she doesn't actually hate you?

Kevin scoffed at the idea.

"I'm serious," you answer. "What makes you so sure she hates you?"

"You've met me, right? I'm not very likeable. She's met me too."

"Yeah, and she's sticking around you, isn't she?" you reply. "I don't know, it seems to me that you've become so used to your friends walking out on you once you pushed them far enough away that you're neglecting the fact that there's still someone who does care about you."

Kevin's eyes lower pondering for a moment. He's clearly beginning to question himself, whether he has the right attitude in life or not. Perhaps he's learning to appreciate those who care about him and-

"Nah, you're just stupid. She fucking hates my guts."

Oh, never mind.

"You're damn right!" Patty exclaims, having returned from the bathroom. She glances towards you before snapping her head towards Kevin. "Hey Fuckstick, what's Fuckstick Jr. doing here?"

"I invited him for breakfast. And his name's not Fuckstick Jr, it's... Ace."

"You don't remember my real name, do you?" you ask him.

"Ace IS your real name, until the day you die. You made your decision."

Patty growled at Kevin before turning to you. "Well, what is your real name?"

You extend an offer of a handshake to Patty, who quickly brushes it off. "Okay, can it with the cheeriness. We aren't a Christian Youth group."

"I... I don't think I was being overly-"

"Besides, I'm never going to call you Robin. Robin's a stupid name for birds and sidekicks, and I never want to even indirectly imply that this piece of trash is anything close to Batman."

"I'm not his sidekick..."

Omega slammed the table and pointed a finger at Patty. "Yeah! He's my lackey! Get it right!"

You bury your head in your hands, and wonder how your life came to this. Patty pulls your hands away and stares into your face. "Whatever... I'm Patty. I guess I didn't introduce myself before I barged into your apartment... kinda a dick move on my part. In my defence, I was pretty angry."

"You're always angry," Kevin muttered.

"Shut the fuck up, Omega. Is there a reason you dragged the kid out here?"

Kevin reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone and a handful of post-it notes.

"What are these?" you ask.

"That's my cell, and that's every single piece of paper I have my ex-wife's number written on. I need you to hold on to those, because I will get drunk, and I will call her."

"Why didn't you trust me with these?" Patty asks.

"Because you know Charlotte. If I gave you her number, you'd call her up just to threaten her."

Patty shrugged. "Yeah, you have a point."

Kevin slaps his hands together. "So now with that over with, is there anything you want to share, Ace? Maybe that you've been thinking of taking accounting lessons?"

>Invite him to Friday's show.

"Hey Kevin, I'm currently working with TWA..."

"That doesn't sound like an accounting school."

"It isn't, it's a wrestling company. You originally got me booked there, remember? Anyway, a few of your students are working there. Me, Princess, Diamond, Kingpin... and I was wondering if you would like to come."

Kevin shut his eyes and sighed. "Kid... I know I've been making light of my situation... but I'm very serious about how I feel. What makes you think I would want to go see a wrestling show. This week? I can't... it's too painful."

You feel the heat of guilt on the back of your neck. "Sorry... I just thought it would be nice to invite you. It's okay if it's too hard for you."

"So who's champion of this place? God, I hope it's not you," Patty asks.

"Kassius Orwin."

Patty almost gags when she hears the name. "Orwin?! I hate that guy!"

"You know him?"

"Know him? We used to work together in Code of Respect. We also used to date. Not one of my proudest moments."

Kevin snorted. "Heh, you have the worst taste in men."

"Like you're one to talk! I'm sure your little protoge is just as bad!"

A waitress comes over to the table, carrying a plate of steaming hot food.

"What's this?" you ask.

"It's your breakfast. I didn't want to wait for you to arrive before ordering it!"

A plate is laid out before you. It smells delicious. A pretty good reward for helping the guy out, you must say.

>Thanks Kevin. This is a nice surprise.

"Is it really that much of a surprise that I'd do something nice? Don't answer that."

You begin to chow down on the best food you've had in a long time.

"Pretty good stuff, isn't it?" Kevin asked. "I used to come here all the time with the old gang after shows."

You feel the need to ask. "The old gang?"

"That's for another time," Kevin shakes his head, "I'm not ready to talk about them right now."

"Another time?" you ask.

"Well, I'd assume you'd want to come to me more to hear my wisdom, take notes at the foot of the master once again-"

"Omega's too proud to admit he wants you to be his friend," Patty butted in. "He should be too proud, it's pretty sad."

The rest of your time in the diner is surprisingly enjoyable, as you have a nice breakfast with the two. At the end of the meal, Kevin starts patting his tanned brown coat as his eyes widen. "Oh no... I seem to have forgotten my wallet. Ace, could you cover-"

"Are you kidding me? You're pulling the lost wallet routine?" Patty growls. "You asshole, you're rich. Get in the car, I'll cover the bill."

The three of you step out of the booth, as Patty hands Kevin the keys to her car. Her eyes follow him as he makes his way at to the door, and she lets out a longing sigh as he exits.

Patty goes red and turns away from you. "I... shut up."

You smirk. "Ha, I knew it. You aren't very good at hiding it."

Patty looks down, playing with the buttons on her coat. "What, can't a girl meet her childhood crush, find out he's a disgusting sad blob of a human being, and still hold on to that crush, regardless of how unhealthy it is? Okay, I doubt you're going to go around telling people... but yeah. Despite all common sense, I'm in love with the sad sack. And maybe sometimes I imagine myself as the Peppermint Patty to his Charlie Brown... but as far as he's aware, I'm the Lucy to his Charlie Brown, got it?"

"I don't think Lucy swore as much as you. Also, Peppermint Patty and Charlie Brown never got together. Sure, it was stated many times that both she and Marcy had crushes on-"

"Shut it, nerd. I'm not talking Peanuts with you." Patty placed her money on the diner table and sighed. "Hey listen, I've taken some time off from UPW to watch over Omega. He doesn't have anyone else, so it only felt right... but I know it's not healthy for me to spend all my time with him. It's not healthy for him to spend so much time with me, either. Eventually, one of us is going to smother the other in their sleep. My point is... it would probably be good for me to meet new people. I think I might go to your show on Friday... and hey, maybe you could introduce me to some of your friends? I kinda want to see the other kids the dumbass has screwed up."

>I'd like that.

In a surprise move, Patty smiled. "Thanks... you know, I'm amazed Kevin Omega had anything to do with you. You actually seem like a good person. Didn't see that coming." She gave you a hard slap on the back. You didn't expect that much strength from such a small woman. "Keep up the good work, Fuckstick Junior." She steps outside of the cafe and makes her way to the car. You see her and Kevin yelling angrily at each-other, but you can't hear them through the glass of the diner window.

As you watch the two of them leave, you wonder if things could ever pick up for Omega. The man's far from a perfect human being, but everyone deserves to be happy. You hope you can somehow help turn things around for the man who made you.

Just when you think you may have a break, your phone rings. Kimberly's on the other end.

"Hello?"

"Hey Ace? Why aren't you at your place?"

You forgot how early it was in the morning. "Shit... it's a long story. I'll be back as soon as I can. What's up?"

"I just... I need to be with you right now." Her voice is trembling.

"Kimberly? What's wrong?"

"My... my sister and I had a fight. A huge one this time. She... she kicked me out."

You run your hand through your hair. Looks like Kevin was wrong. Forget wrestling, Stress is what's going to bring you to an early grave.

And that'll be it for tonight's thread! Thanks for playing! Let me know what you think!

>Player Question
What do you think of the two new additions to the cast so far?
>>
>>46064729
Wrestling breeds drama, especially when you're spending time out of the ring due to suspected injury. I'm sure when you make your TWA return, the drama will subside, and most certainly not get worse. Of course not.
>>
>>46064812
Too late to become an accountant unfortunately it seems
>>
>>46064812
Maybe we should emulate Kenny and alienate everyone in order to focus on the rasslin'.
>>
>>46064771
You mean 1 right?? They seem like nice people who would never bring even more drama down on Robin.
>>
But very interesting that Kim got only one vote when she seemed to have the majority yesterday.
>>
>>46064942
>You mean 1 right?

Even though he's been mentioned countless times from the beginning, Kevin didn't actually appear in person until this thread, so I was counting both him and Patty as "New" additions.

>>46065012
People are really looking forward to future Joshi waifu, it seems.
>>
>>46065012
Kimberly was hyped as 'the second best girl" in past threads, so this isn't surprising at all. I'm pretty sure that yesterday's course was more about getting off the Abby train than anything else.
>>
>>46064681
This was a really nice thread after all of the drama. There is still drama, but it feels a lot more comfy, or at least, a lot less volitile...somehow, even with the obvious suicide attempt.

>>46064729
Its always been there. And Booker has been hinting at it enough.

>>46064771

I like them both a lot. Though I do want to see more out of Patty, because she is still mini-mature Jenny. But give it time.

Kevin is fascinating. I can't wait to see more of him and hope he finds happiness.

As for the obvious stuff to look forward to we finally get to hear about Kimberly's family. Been looking forward to that since it was hinted. And I mean, it could explain things a bit in her personality.

>Player Question

They're both fine additions to the cast. Kevin feels like an amalgamation of every old-school hard-ass wrassler' I can think of, with Patty reminding me of some chick I know that works at my local Donut Shop.

>>46065046

Eh, I'dunno. I wouldn't mind seeing one in this quest in the future, but really it'll come down to what she's like as a person; I'm not going to "Waifu" just because she's Japanese or whatever.

Honestly, Ace's 18 and has a lot of time ahead of him to decide who he (IE We) should shack up with.
>>
>>46065089
Except with what she said last thread about Robin never loving anyone but her and Abby saying she just wants Robin to be happy she dropped of my list.
>>
>>46065236
Right, so there's some buyer's remorse too. But I would expect Kimberly to get a very sympathetic scene at the start of the next thread.
>>
Booker want the thread bummped until tomorrow? I'm sure we can do that like some of us have for House and Dominion.
>>
>>46065307
I really don't have any pity for her. Her personality has been abrasive and downright hostile to damn near everyone but Robin. She's a rich snob or at least seems to act like it. I have no sympathy to those types of people.
>>
>>46065316
I do enjoy there to be discussion among the players after each thread is finished, but I don't need the thread to stay alive until tomorrow. I prefer making a new thread fresh for each instalment, so every thread feels like a new "Episode". Same reason I end the threads on cliffhangers or other good jumping off points.

But again, I love player discussion, and will probably be around to answer question for the next few hours, so it would be pretty cool if the thread went on long enough to hit the bump limit.
>>
>>46065417
So is voting over for the strawpoll or ya leaving it over night?

Who's yo waifu?
>>
>>46065472
I put it as Other. I am a neutral party until I learn more about ALL parties. We ony really know Jenny well enough, IMO. Abby and Kimberly are much more unknown.
>>
>>46065472
I'm not aware of if you can close a strawpoll, and either way I set it up so you guys could see what the majority opinion amongst yourselves is right now. It'll have no effect on the game (until it comes time that a decision relevant to the results comes up), so I don't see any reason why it can't be left up for players to consult whenever. I'd also imagine an updated poll will be introduced with more characters as they come in to the story. Maybe even a husbando poll.

My waifu hasn't been introduced yet, and won't be for a long time.

My husbando is Kassius.

Really more interested in a manager than a waifu or husbando. We should convince Kevin to manage us once he finishes up his contract at UPW. Justify it in a kind of, "I need to keep an eye on you, the least you can do is make yourself useful," way. Hell, he could probably just go out there and be his dickish self with the whole thing being a worked shoot.

>Best Husbando
>Not Robin

Come on guys, have more faith in yourselves.
>>
>>46065735
I thought this was from Robin's perspective not ours. But mine is still Kingpin.
>>
>>46065735
Okay so here's my theory on why princess was kicked out. She got into wrestling for Robin and her family didn't like it's she moved in with her sister. When she found out what she did her sister threw her out.

I'm completely wrong or guessed what happened exactly. Either or.
>>
>>46065735
I did it like this anon>>46065749 we aren't best husbando, we're the PC.

>>46065795
I don't subscribe to that theory, but it does seem like a plausible theory at least. I am still on the runaway theory. But we'll see. We're probably both wrong.
>>
>>46065892
It would explain her fixation with Robin and her jealousy of any female who gets close. Granted we only saw that with Abby and she seems genuinely scared of Jenny. Those are about the only other girls we see her interact with on any basis besides fighting with her sister.
>>
>>46065795
>>46065892
Those theories are totally interesting.

Here another
>Player Question
You guy's looking forward to returning to the ring against Danny?
>>
>>46066266
Yeah it should be nice. At least he is t going to injure us. Intentionally anyways.

So we are way off. Well then I have no idea. She's still a bitch though. Reminds me of an ex actually. Probably why I don't like her.
>>
>>46066266
You have no idea. Wrasslin should be Aces #1 priority. Fuck waifus get championships
>>
>>46066325
TWA Title is real best girl
>>
>>46066454
Actually, Booker, how would you personally rank the waifus currently introduced?
>>
>>46066266
>Player Question
Yeah, I honestly want to see Danny wrestle. His gimmick combined with his apparent style should be fascinating. I think they can totally pull both an entertaining singles as well as doubles match.

If we weren't poised to go over this match, I would love to get him over.

>>46066322
Considering Booker's Husbando. I expect the initial impressions we get of all characters are intentional for a reason.
>>
>>46066266
>Player Question
More than anything so far in this quest. It'll be good to have just a wrasslin' match without any big storys, or having to worry about dickheads working stiff.
>>
>>46066454
RIGHT.

Also, are there other feds than TWA and UPW we can go to?
>>
>>46066477
>Actually, Booker, how would you personally rank the waifus currently introduced?

I'm not really one for ranking my own characters, even in something as silly as waifuism. Plus, I get the feeling that if I say which characters I like most, players will start to resent them whenever I write something that could come across as favouritism. Plus, I know things about the characters that players don't.

That said though, were these characters real people, the order in which I'm most likely to date them is;
1. Abby
2. Patty
3. Kimberly
4. Jenny (Not that I wouldn't be attracted to a Jenny type. I'd just never go for it.)

>>46066512
>Considering Booker's Husbando

My husbando choice was a joke. Kassius pretty much exists as a one-note villain, representative of every bad thing you hear about backstage politicians in wrestling. I decided to go with someone who was outright comically villainous as the first arc big bad. Expect more developed and less shitty antagonists in the future.

Actual husbando for me is yet to be introduced, but has been mentioned.

The power rankings in company size are a follows.
1. Univeral Pro-Wrestling
2. Ultimate Japan Grand Prix
3. Code of Respect
4. Total Impact
5. AsociaciĆ³n de Lucha Libre
6. British Wrestling Revolution
7-?. Various indies
BOTTOM. TWA

>>46066704
Are there any recruiters or things from other companies looking at us right now?
if we go to japan, could we form/get in this world's version of the bullet club?
>>
>>46066735
I cannot divulge that information.

As for the spoiler, A WrestleQuest version of the Bullet Club does exist, and yes you will have that option should you ever go to Japan.
>>
>>46066766
So while we were injured could we have still showed up to the locker room to keep Kassius in check?
>>
>>46066982
Not particularly, as most of the injury was spent confined to your apartment. The first time you left the building since the injury was Danny's Starrcade party, and you were too busy dealing with Omega on Monday to attend that night's show.
>>
>>46067050
So we are a shitty locker room leader. Also maybe a small pastebin of wrestling terms casual fans wouldn't know?
>>
>>46067085
>Also maybe a small pastebin of wrestling terms casual fans wouldn't know?

That's a good suggestion. I've noted that a significant number of the players aren't regular watchers of pro-wrasslin. A run-down of the terms used frequently during the quest would probably prove useful. I'll try to have one ready by tomorrow's thread.
>>
>>46066649
I figured as such. Either way, he works as a good intro villian. But I wouldn't have put it past you to go super complicated here.

>>46066766
>Spoiler
I mean, you know anons are going to nibble at that carrot right? Its more a when at this point.

>>46067085
To be fair, I don't think we have officially wrestled that position and claimed it, pardon the pun.

As for wrestling inspiration, care to divulge any real life wrestlers that were used as inspiration? Feel free to say you can't reveal them.

>>46067185
I would appreciate that. I know basic terms but thats about it.
>>
>>46067204
>As for wrestling inspiration, care to divulge any real life wrestlers that were used as inspiration? Feel free to say you can't reveal them.

Outside of the major cast, I do use some outright stand-ins for real people, and even a lot of the major cast take a little inspiration from certain people and archetypes.

>Kassius' in-ring persona is literally Chris Hero, while his backstage personality is a mix of the backstage stories of young Orton and JBL.

>UPW champion Johnny Mercer is John Cena through and through.

>Kevin Omega is heavily based on the archetype of the broken down veteran i.e. Jake The Snake, Scott Hall, Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler. There's a good bit of Bret Hart in there too. In-ring character wise, he was a Cactus Jack type character.

>Kimberly's in-ring character is pretty much a heel version of current indie wrestler Princess Kimberlee. They even share a name.

>Danny is based on many goofy dancing losers in wrestling, with a lot of WCW-era Chris Jericho thrown in. An obnoxious yet lovable and goofy loser.

>Owen Barnes is based on the current trend of down-to-earth and talented indie wrestlers making it big in the business, ala Daniel Bryan and Sami Zayn.

Those are what come to the top of my head right now. There's a lot of inspiration and a lot of names in wrestling from the iconic to the obscure that I kinda just threw in a mixing pot when constructing the WrestleQuest-verse.

>Kimberly's in-ring character is pretty much a heel version of current indie wrestler Princess Kimberlee. They even share a name.

I fucking thought so! Ever since you first described her in-ring attire, I wondered if she was based off of her, but I figured no one here would know who she was.
>>
>>46067498
Trust me anon, I watch a lot of wrestling.

A LOT of wrestling.
>>
>>46067430
I am actually quite impressed I was able to recognize a lot of those names. Guess I know more than I thought. I mean I know nothing of the behind the scenes stuff, but I it seems like a pretty solid mix. Glad I got "The Wrestler" vibes right

Why is there so much love going around.
