I didn't realise this was running at all, normally it only starts in a hour.

"What do you mean a marine like me?" I ask as watch him leave, petting Ajax as he lays on top of the railing, he's gotten a bit fatter, which is good

"Oh" Baldrick says, stopping for just a second as he shrugs "Well that's a bit hard to explain isn't it...I guess its in how you act, you do the job you're given, even if it's batshit insane or should be impossible...look all I know is you've done far more than the rest of the marines here, but that just because none of them are...well good marines to be brutally honest, it's kind of like placing shined bronze next to rusted iron, you know? What I mean is you're a good marine, not going to dance around that, but compared to these guys, you're a great one...understand?"

"I think I get what you're trying to say there but...it is kind of mean, I mean they've been trying to get better right?" I say flatly as he looks back at me, with a plain look on his face "So when will make port next?"

"Trust me, they have a long way to becoming decent marines" Baldrick says shaking his head "And I think we're around Fruta island now, bit of a backwater, but pretty sure it has a port...either way we'll need to stop for supplies there and....oh dear god, Gine, how many times do I have to say it, the navigator is the one who needs to be behind the wheel dammit!"


I tilt my head as he runs faster than he looks like he could, up towards the helm of the ship


Ajax meows at me, looking confused. I shrug and pick him up as I walk down the deck of the ship and inside of it, walking down the stairs and down to the bottom of the ship, to the bunks.

I smile as I walk over to mine, with a weathered chest in front of it, pulling off my marine coat as I get close to it, setting it down on the edge of my bunk as I crouch down to open the chest at the feet of it. Smiling, I pull it open and look inside, seeing a crumpled duster laying inside of it. it's a dark blue, like the sea in the middle of a storm

I grab it and lift it up, the hem of it still crumpled on top of my other clothes. It's dull, and grimy metal button glint in what little light manages to sink through the uncleaned windows of this section.

I smile as I stuff my standard coat and pull my good old duster over it, adjusting my hat as Ajax sniffs the tail of it and clambers into one of its many open pockets, where I put my hand into, petting him as I walk out of the bunks, the stench of sweat and many, many other things I don't want to think about sticks in my nose.

Scrunching it, and trying to hold it close so I don't start feeling sick, I walk up the stairs, into the much more well lit mess hall, which is currently covered in at least ten passed out marines, most of which seem to have lost part or most of their uniforms in whatever drunken shenanigans they were having.

I shake my head and groan, I can still smell that stench, and not to mention the fact I haven't had my morning pick me up let. I need coffee, black coffee...strong coffee.

I beeline to the coffee machine, and pull on the knob, the machine making a hissing bubbling noise as it spits out a stream of black gold. I grab the warm cup burning my fingers as I take a whiff of it and sigh, putting it to my lips to take a drink and.

"Such fools" I hear my own voice say, trying to hold back its accent "I thought pirates were supposed to be drunken fools, but it seems I got them mixed up with marines...because this is just insulting, I thought I'd be in more refined company with you fellows, well at least more refined than jail"

"Heeeey jaaack" I say turning around, as I see myself standing behind me, looking really upset and disgusted, also wearing a marine uniform, namely that of a chore boy...girl? and two metal bands over my nose

"Hello the mirror that doth piss me off" He sighs shaking his head "Can't believe I'm standing for this indignity"

"Stop complaining" I say flippantly as I take a sip of my coffee as jack tries to lean on the box next to me comfortably "besides it could be a whole lot worse"

"A pirate captain" I Say flatly, staring at myself as jack frowns and crosses his arms like a child "Which is why captain wants to make sure you're trustworthy, and besides, work builds character"

"I'm trustworthy, and I'm as strong as you are, no reason for me to have to be thrown all the dirty work" he whimpers, wiping his eyes and pouting "it isn't fair"

I stare at him tiredly and hold up my cup of coffee

"Coffee?" I ask offering it to him

"Errgh, no I prefer tea, that stuff tastes like dirt" He says sticking his tongue out "Still you have to admit it really isn't fair for me to be treated like this"

"Look, if you want a promotion, do work, Ginegin is quite generous with them" I Say sigh angrily as I drink more of my coffee

Draining my coffee, I sigh as my senses start to sharpen and I feel my nerves start to tense back up. I stare at jack, who's still pouting with his arms crossed angrily

"You don't even work" I say after a second of looking at him...and myself "You just trick others into doing it for you, Jack"

"It's called inspiring them, Adela" He says, putting to much emphasis on my name "Nothing wrong with it I just "

"You just pretend to be my sisters, either threatening or sweet talking them to get out of having to anything" I say slowly as I turn back to the blessed coffee machine, pouring myself a fresh cup, the taste of the last still tingling on my tongue

"Well I'd be a fool not to use ever possible boon I had, wouldn't I" He giggles teasingly "Besides, being stuck in your form is a curse, sure you're a loo...beauty, but my magnificent face is is gone forever and everyone treats me like I'm some kind of flower, rather than a magnificent flame that"

He huffs, opens his mouth to say something and frowns, mumbling under his breath

"Sorry" he says meekly "I chose this path, and shouldn't take it out on the one who allowed me a choice, besides, Everyone seems to think I'm your sister now for some reason, so I should treat you better...for appearance sake"

I blink, opening my mouth to remind him he's the reason for that, and just shake my head

"Idiot" I sigh flatly as I smack him on the shoulder, putting my cup down as I walk away from him, towards the exit of the mess hall

"what did I do?" He complains as he follows after me, while I pull ajax out of my pocket, waking him up, he stretches and yawns as I set him down on the ground gently "And where are you going"

"Work" I say as I stomp up the stairs, running my hand along the wall as he struggles to follow after me, still not used to my legs I see "You know, the thing you're supposed to do?"

I smile cheekily as Jack's face goes red again as he curses at me under his breath. I just giggle my warn out laugh and walk over to an unused bucket and mop, grabbing both as I head out to do work, spotting Ochamu scraping a few scratches into the deck as she tries to scrub it, and yotshi...measuring the railings. I nod at them, and Ochamu waves at me as she huffs and pants in effort, before she glares at jack, who's picked up a bucket as well

I smile at him, and he frowns...heavily as I start to swab the deck, making it a bit easier for my big friend.

I sigh, wiping sweat off my brow as I shake my cap around, that was some nice work, had to have been at least an hour or two of it. I'm wide awake for once, and kind of feeling fired up to do some more

I stare at Ochamu for a second, as she smiles like she usually does, looking like she wants to beat your face in, even though I know for a fact she doesn't....what's a jungle

I sit down, grinning happily as Yotshi and Jack sit across from me, looking nervous and in jack's case determined as hell. Ochamu sits next to me, covering her nose as she takes a drink of her milk.

I eat a spoonful of my soup, drinking it down, and biting into the piece of pepper at the end and...oh, yeah I know this burn, oh god I think I might have done something horrible here. Hooo boy this is going to be a show. I chew on it, still holding my smile as Yotshi raises his spoon, with a whole pepper on it.

He looks at it in a mixture of disgust in fear, the curled pepper sitting in a puddle of its own juices. Its a dark orange color, like a sunset, and has light green cracks through it, and like all of the peppers of it's kind, its more fat than it is long.

Yep...this soup was made with the Tumbling reaper. The very same pepper my family grew on the farm, along with some milder kinds, and we tended to eat with everything.

Yotshi gulps as jack has his hands on the table, looking like a...woman ready to be hanged

"Go" Yotshi says sheepishly as he puts the spoon in his mouth, and jack brings the bowl to his lips, staring me in the eyes as a small mob surrounds the table

I grab my bowl, resting my arm on the table, and take a drink of it, calmly gulping it down as I hear Yotshi start whining like a engine.

I open my eyes, sighing as I put my bowl down, and see Jack struggling to drink his bowl, his eyes bulging out as he sweats up a storm, his face turning a very bright and vibrant red

And then he lets out a weak and kind of cute scream, covering his mouth as he bites down, whimpers and cries of pain escaping his mouth as he shakes his head, and I grab his bowl...he left the peppers inside. I sigh and start popping them in my mouth as the crowd and Ochamu watch me in horror...well more horror than usual

Yotshi doesn't do anything for a second, and then smoke pours out of his mouth as he falls over, one of his legs twitching as he start drooling and groaning in pain as he falls to the floor, his face turning pale as Jack starts punching the table to keep quite.

the former captain and man pants as he continues pounding his fists down, holding the other over his mouth as he tries to speak, looking at me in disbelief as I chew on one of the peppers with no change in expression

"Hawawaah" He stammers...so that's what I look like when I'm in pain...interesting

"Always forget you have a cat's tongue" I say with a smirk as I look at Jack, who's now stomping his feet "Sis"

He just stares at me with pleading eyes.

I sigh, letting out a breath as I let my tongue roll out, the burn still raging like a wildfire on my tongue. Patting my stomach with one hand, and grabbing Yotshi's abandoned bowl, I stand up, draining it and picking out the peppers carefully as and shaking them as I walk over to the barrel with milk in it.

I set the bowl down and grab two cups, all of the eyes in the mess hall on me as I walk back to the table and sit back down, holding the two cups out to them.

"Here, take this it helps" I say sweetly as Jack rips one of the cups out of my hands and starts chugging it as Yotshi weakly gets up and grabs the other, sipping it as his mouth makes a noise like water hitting a hot pan.\

Ajax gets up on the table and sniffs my empty bowl, backing away and scrunching his nose. I go to pet him, but remember what the pepper does to things you touch.

"Yeah, at least you know Ajax that if something smells hot, leave it be" I say smiling at my little kitten, who just meows flatly

I smile as I look back at the crowd and Yotshi and jack, as Ochamu shakes her head

"Should've listened to me, I told you she only wanted to make you suffer with those" Ochamu says with a huff "that was a mean thing to do Adela"

"Heeey, I just wanted them to try it is all" I say shrugging as I lean back and look at the crowd "and that fellahs is the tumbling reaper"

I hear the door crash open, and judging from the thud, torn off the hinges

"I SWEAR TO WHATEVER GOD WILL JUDGE YOU IF YOU'RE FIGHTING DOWN HERE AGAIN I WILL...wait, why was there screaming, none of you are fighting or ever roughhousing around...are you trying to make me look crazy here, brabrabrabrabraaaa"

"Ooh just having lunch" I say as I turn around to look at the captain as he walks further into the room, his armor clanking with each step he takes.

He stares at me with his glassy eyes, his breastplate and bald head shining in the light of the room as he frowns, his red mustache falling over his lips as he tilts his head, looking suspicious

I grin like a fool as I grab the last pepper in all three of the bowls, as Ochamu shakes her head, mouthing the word "Don't"

"What are you eating that could do that?" He asks, smirking under his sawtoothed nose "Brabrabra"

"Want to try one and find out Capn" I ask holding it out to him as I stand up half way to meet him

All of the marines gasps and Ochamu scoots away from me, covering her eyes as Ginegine grabs the pepper between his fingers and holds it up to his eyes...it's a tiny and shriveled one.

He licks his lips with his slightly purple tinged tongue, staring at the pepper for a second as his mouth creaks open, like his armor, revealing his sharp, almost shark like teeth as he tilts his head back and holds the pepper over his mouth, dangling it there for a second.

Before he drops it and bites as it falls into his mouth, closing his eyes and chewing it for a while, his expression not changing even in the slightest way as I, and everyone else stare at him as silence fills the room.

And he swallows, and lets out a small burp, rubbing his mouth as

"He's out cold" She says, her face filling with fear as a thin man with a beard walks over to him, crouching down in front of him

"Down in one hit, hoooooly crap" He says, laughing as he pats the captain on the face, before he screams as he bites his hand

I don't say anything, I just keep on smiling as I grab one of the few other peppers left in Yotshi's bowl and hold it out to him, opening my palm up, feeling a little like a devil all eyes fall on him, and silence continues to take the front stage of the room.

Baldrick, furrows his brow, smirking as he walks over, his stomach jiggling slightly as he picks up the pepper and turns it around in his hand, and pops it in his mouth chewing on it for a second, and swallowing it calmly.

I smile and walk back to the captain, shaking his shoulder as everyone starts to go back to what they were doing, except for Yotshi, Ochamu and Jack, who just keep staring at me, or are still laying on the ground looking dead, like yotshi.

I blink and stare into his eyes for a second, as he glares at me, fury filling his eyes but his face remains calm. Even the air around him seems to get dipped in his anger, as it begins to ripple, like he's a stone dropped in a sea. I feel a pressure over my chest and head, before it slams down into me, refusing to life off as I wince, my head aching as I struggle to stand, the whole world slowly starts to go quite and dark and I fall over hearing a thud right before I do so.

"What just happened?" I groan as I look around, rubbing my forehead as I stand up and take another look around all the passed out and sleeping bodies around me. There's no sign of a fight, and if it was the captain, well I'd know if he fought down here.

I shake my head slowly, getting more confused by the second as I turn and shamble to the coffee machine, I need a cup..a nice warm and tasty cup of coffee, to make sure I don't fall asleep again today.

I grab a cup with some milk left in it and fill it up, draining it, sighing, and going back for another cup. I sigh as Ajax meows weakly and I smile,patting him on the head before I walk out of the mess hall to go looking for captain.

Shouldn't be to hard to find him, he's like nine feet tall. I slowly walk up the stairs, the candles have been put up, but luckily I have good eyes, so I don't have to worry about that.

I push the door to the deck open and turn around, leaving it open just long enough for Ajax to follow me out, before I close it and walk to the door next to it, covered in scratches, with a bite taken out of it.

I push it open, and see the captain's muscled back, with a single bullet scar left in the center of it.

"Hmm?" He grunts "Oh Evil eye, guess I should appologize for that then, emotions got a little out of hand there"

"So it was you then....what the hell was that?" I ask angrily

he peeks over his shoulder, and smiles widely, showing me his teeth

and sigh as I step out the captain's quarters, and look down the empty ship deck, towards the horizon, and the setting sun, making the sky a fiery orange. I smile, used to run home about this time, Hell Marty taught me how to shoot round this time. Always seem to remember the sunset in my happiest moments for some reason, and funnily I found that damn fruit when it was sunrise.

I sigh, rubbing my eyes, don't know how long I've been writing for, it must be late by now, the water is calmer now, and outside of my burnt out candle it's dark, so very dark. I smile, as I blow on my letter, making sure it's nice and dried before I pick it up to read it.

"How you all doing? I've been doing fantastic so don't worryabout that, heck I'd even say I'm prospering, since I proved instrumental in taking down a pirate crew...don't worry it wasn't marty, and I also made some new friends, so you don't have to worry about that Pa. Is June still growing those flowers of hers? think she could send me some if she is? as much as I hated the smell, I must admit I do miss them a bit. Sammy still digging up more holes than the dog? If you want I can take some leave to scare him straight if he is, he should know how that effects the harvest with him digging all over the fields. Also I'm curious now, but how's that calf that Abigale bought, is it still healthy? looked a little ill before I left, but I didn't want to worry you all anymore than I already did. Oh
And I hope the twins are getting along again after what they went through, broke my heart to see them at eachother's throats like that. And tell Gregory I'll come home as soon as I can, and to stop crying about it, cause I know how much worse that would make it for the rest of you. Oh and make sure to tell Babs about me when she's old enough, in case I'm a little late in coming home.
Now I think this is as good as time as any to mention I was injured in duty, not dangerously so, but I got a scar on my shoulder from some mad man swinging cleavers around, who apparently met Marty at some point.

OH and I got just the cutest little kitten, a little black one with a white diamond under his eye, he helped me take the lunatic and has been by my side ever since, I think even the dog would like him.

Andtwins just looked at eachother, feeling horrible for bruises and cuts they gave each other. Without a word, Alexi and alex came to an understanding and hugged eachother, not letting go as emotions poured out of them like an overflowing river

Gregory cried with his father, sniffling and fearing sorry for himself, as he promised himself and his dear big sister that he'd be braver when she came back
