Your name is ...
Your name is ...
Damn it! No matter how much you try, you can't remember your own name. Or anything else for that matter.
The harder you try to recall your past, the more fragmented it gets. At first you could recall where you are in relation to other places. Now all you know for sure is that you are somewhere in Berlin. The fact that the city is in ruins makes navigating even harder. You recall bombings, but who did it or why, that's another story. Yesterday you had to take shelter in a building that definately looks like it was hit by an explosion. The walls are scorched, the windows are all broken or non-existent and the ceiling has more cracks and holes in it than intact parts, so it doesn't offer much protection from the rain. Regardless of these details you had no choice but to rest here, you were too exhausted from the hunger to keep searching.
You awoke roughly an hour ago and since then you were trying to figure out what is going on, without much success.
Deciding not to force the matter, least you lose even more memories, you instead try to recall the events of the past three days, that for some reason you have no trouble with, as much as you wish otherwise.
The first image is the worst, a young girl's body ruined beyond belief. She couldn't have been more than thirteen years old and she was just lying on the street and for some reason you knew it was your doing. Such a bizarre sight, made even stranger by the fact that noone seemed to notice it. You were screaming for help and pleading your innocence inbetween the moments you had to pause for air. Roughly five to ten minutes passed by the time you calmed down and realised that noone seemed to be able to see or hear neither you nor the girl. You were confused and affraid, so you did the only logical thing you could come up with and ran as fast as you could, trying to get away from that grizzly scene.
>>
You kept running at a breakneck pace, until you came across the river Spree where you finally saw your reflection. The sight was terrifying, your form was unlike anything you have ever witnessed. It was so outlandish you had trouble figuring out just what you could compare it to. Your body looked like that of a giant bipedal lizard complete with a large tail, which looked more like an alligators than a squamatas. On your face a porcelaine white mask, which looked as if an axolotl went down a different evolutionary road and became an apex predator, complete with the three pair of gill stalks at your temples.
And to top it all off, you now appear to have a hole in your chest, not a wound but a perfect circle which seems to run through your torso, right in the middle where your heart should be. It doesn't hurt in the conventional way but it definately feels wrong, like a piece of you is missing.

The scary part is that until you saw your image in the water you didn't even realise your body was so twisted, it felt as natural as if you were born with it.

After this revelation you started running once more until you reached the collapsed factory in which you reside now, you haven't made a sound nor did you even sit down to think things through, you just felt exhausted and spent the last three days either in a dreamless sleep, or awakening to find your body still deformed, and quickly going back to sleep.
You were content with this course of action, you had no desire going out, too many confusing things happened to you and you felt lost.
But now something has changed, something completely different is dominating your thoughts now, hunger.
>>
And now as your mind is focused on this empty feeling, you start to think about the little girl again, but this time with yearning, you want to consume that little girls body.
No, not body but soul.
Yes, now you remember, you have died and so did the little girl, then you consumed what remained of her, her eternal soul.
So this is the afterlife? What a great joke this is, if this is true! No eternal paradise, or damnation but this!

At any rate you have to do something with this hunger and fast, you don't want to find out if you die in the afterlife.

> Start walking aimlessly until you find what you are looking for.
> Ghosts live in graveyards, right?
> Go back where the little girl was.
> You feel like going someplace else. (write-in)

Question time:

>What is this?
A quest set in the “Bleach” universe
>Chargen?
No
>Who are we?
A freshly reborn hollow
>Nameing issues
I'll use the names given in the manga, following Japanese convention (family names first). In case of german or spanish I'll use their naming convention.
>Dice rolls?
After figuring out what option has won I'll give a dice prompt. Usually rolls will be 3d10 against a set target, first three considered. To succeed, the best of the first three responses must have two passing rolls. A critical success requires three passing rolls. If the best result is one pass, the action fails. If nobody rolls anything that passes, the result is a critical failure. Other die rolls that deviate from this will be explained on a case by case basis.

You can't seem to stop thinking about the events that happened three days ago. The idea of going back is really enticing, maybe she is still there or perhaps it finally attracted some attention.

Either way you start making your way back and damn it all you wish navigating this maze of rubble was easier.

It's hard enough that you can barely recall the path you took as is, but the constantly shifting cityscape makes it nigh impossible to navigate properly.

After getting lost a couple of times, which frustrated you to no end, you finally reach your destination. Yes the next street is definately the one where you left what remained of the child.

However, as you are passing through the small alleyway you quickly stop when you start feeling something. You can feel it in your bones, there is someone in the street ahead.
The hunger is tugging at your nerves, whatever that creature ahead is, you really want to devour it.

But being too hasty might be a bad idea, you need to think about how to approach your prey.

> Charge out and tear it to shreds, you don't feel like waiting anymore.
> Slowly and surely sneak up on it, when the time comes jump. Haste makes waste

Deciding not to rush head first into things, you decide to approach your target stealthily.

You descend towards the ground and start using your forearms as a new pair of legs, thinking if you are smaller your prey would have a harder time noticing you.

And just as you touch the ground, you notice something odd. Your body seems to be covered in a barely noticeable, transparent mucus. As you are tapping your fingers together testing the viscous fluid you get a potentially silly idea.

You make yourself towards one of the walls and try to stick yourself to it hoping to climb to the top of the building.

Sadly it doesn't seem to work, as the thin membrane proves to be too weak to hold your entire weight. But it should be useful capturing your food.

Rather disappointed, you slowly crawl to the street where the faint signal can be felt.

You carefully poke your head out to look around, spotting a man in an evening gown walking around obviously confused.

He is way too distracted with the chain protruding from his chest and leading into a nearby house. You don't waste this opportunity and quickly slither towards the elderly man.

By the time he finally turns around it's already too late. You tower over him and swipe his head with your webbed hand.

As he struggles trying to break free from your hold you swiftly break his neck.

You now aquired sustenance.
The question is: What to do?

And nearly all of the hollow exclusive words are spoken by hollows in ghostico and very rarely by those who aren't there at the time or by the really fucking smart people who know a fuckload about hollows (relatively speaking).

Just like the only time you really hear german is when it is spoken by a quincy or one who is privy to their techniques.

There were only a couple self-made arrancar IIRC, and one of them was legit a spaniard. The rest were Aizen's minions, so who knows why they are named as such, whether self-named or named by him to keep a theme going.
>>
"Sorry old-timer, monsters gotta eat. Thanks for the meal."

There, giving him some sort of a last rite at least will help your consciousness, if nothing else.

With the formalities out of the way you open both of your jaws and start consuming what remains of the guy. Each chunk is like manna from heaven, each bite relieving at least a portion of your agonizing hunger.

Learning from your mistake with the girl, you make sure to not leave anything of the man, hopefully this way the hunger will be kept better at bay.

As the last bite goes down you feel incredible, the pain is gone and you feel your body is brimming with power unlike anything you've ever felt before.

However your euphoria doesn't last long as your new sixth sense is signaling you once more.
You feel a presence advancing towards you rapidly. This one, unlike the old man, feels a lot like you.

So, not only there are others sharing your faith, but there is one relatively close to you. After witnessing what you are capable however, you don't really think meeting this new "friend" would be a smart idea, on the other hand you are aching for a conversation.

Okay, currently you don't know if this "thing" is going to kill you or not, but you don't feel like taking any chances.

You retreat to the alleyway you arrived from, you have scouted it once and have a better chance of finding a good hiding spot.

You are in luck, as a large pile of rubble is perfectly capable of concealing your huge frame and has the additional benefit of providing some view of the main street, but not too much.

You feel your misteryous "acquaintance" approaching. To your surprise it's not one but two strange creatures, only one of them is barely noticeable when compared to the other, looks like this sense of yours is quite unreliable.

The monsters barely resemble you, one of them looks like a quite tall and heavily atrophied man, his ribs clearly visible as his ashen skin clings to it. His hands get your attention, not only are his shoulders quite broad, but his arms are quite elongated as well.

The other looks more like an ape than a human, with its hunching stature, long monkey tail and very strongly muscled, three jointed arms. This coupled with his crimson red skin makes for a quite intimidating look, but funnily enough he is clearly the weaker one.

The only thing all three of you share are the holes located somewhere on your bodies, and the porcelaine white masks. The tall ones mask is shaped like cloth clinging to his face, with two holes for eyes. While the monkey like one has, well a monkey mask adorned with tusks.

The small creature speaks up. Christ even his voice is like a primates, loud and almost feral like.
"I swear! I felt another hollow Gramps! I'm not hallucinating, it just disappeared in an instant!"

The other one is merely stroking its chin, not paying attention to his partner.
Then this "Gramps" speaks up:
"If you are still here, would you be so kind and come out. We do not wish to harm you."

Oh damnation! It didn't even cross your mind that they can sense you the same way as you do. What to do now?

Come out slowly, "Sorry, didn't want to run into anyone if they were still hungry" undersell our speed so we can run if need be.

Well, better safe than sorry.

"Over here! Don't come in the alley!"

The other two look towards the direction of your voice, clearly surprised.

"Okay, do you believe me NOW you old fart?!"

While a second ago you could hear a pin getting dropped, now the monkey is making quite a ruckus.

"Yes yes, Stern you can stop nagging me now. Now, let me speak to our friend."
With that the large "hollow" as they call themselves comes to the entrance of the alleyway, looking around puzzled and clears his throat before speaking in a calm and collected manner.

"I'm sorry for scaring you like that, we really mean no harm. It's just that Stern over there has quite the talent for finding other hollows and we got worried when one just simply disappeared. I must say, I've never met a hollow capable of hiding its presence like that."

Judging by his demeanor, he seems to be a pleasant conversation partner. Still, looks can be decieving.
"Sorry about this, I just don't want to meet someone when they might be, erm hungry. So would you mind telling me what do you want with me?"

It seems he still has a hard time believing you are actually there and he isn't hallucinating.
"Well you see, my accomplice over there found a man who has recently passed away here. And one should never give up on an easy meal, but believe me by that we don't mean you. There are others certainly out there, who'd rather eat you than to even attempt a conversation. We simply thought grouping up would increase our chances of survival. Someone with your talent would certainly be very useful. What do you say, intrested?"

It does sound tempting, it would certainly be better than being alone, the silence can be quite maddening. On the other hand this might be a trap. Still if it is, you seem to have an escape rout open, what should you do?

Allright, this is your chance!

Finally, with the help of this hollow you can shed some light to what happened to you!
You can figure out what is going on!

"Allright, I'll think about it. But only on one condition: You can start explaining what the hell are you, and more importantly what am I?"

With that, the older hollow begins explaining what a "plus" is and how sometimes they become "hollows", creatures bound to devour other souls, or else they perish.

Honestly he doesn't say you much more, most of the stuff he says is pretty self evident, or you could guess most of it. Clearly he doesn't know too much other than these basics.
Your mind wanders off as you are listening to him, focusing on the buildings behind him.
Strangely though you see a glimmer in the distance, you can't quite make it out.
It looks like...

"WATCH OUT!"
The ape hollow shouts and they both quickly jump to the nearby rooftops, an arrow shooting past them and hitting the ground right next to you. The arrow shines with a piercing blue light, just looking at it fills you with dread.

Meanwhile all you can hear besides the hummin of the arrow is the two hollows shouting back and forth.

"A Quincy?! Here?!"

"What's the meaning of this Stern? How come you only noticed this now?"

"Gramps lets get out of here, while we still can! This is no ordinary quincy! It's a Sternritter!"

As you are looking at the arrow next to you, you can only think of one thing.

Escape!
You have to escape while you still can!
You run as fast as you possibly can.
But as you are trying to get away an arrow flies past your head, taking off one of your gillstalks.
You turn around almost immediately, seeing your assailant standing infront of you.

She is holding a brilliantly glowing blue bow, and has already prepared one of those energy arrows as she is aiming at you. As you are standing on your four limbs paralyzed with fear you let out a worried laugh.

This seemingly irritates the bow wielding woman, and she starts talking after she waves her head around to get her long and flowing blonde hair out of her eyes.

"What's so funny, you lizard?"

"I just didn't think I'd die two times in one week. I thought that's funny, nothing else."
You mutter facing your soon to be executioner.

"And I didn't think I'd see a hollow capable of hiding it's Reiatsu. Such an abomination can't be allowed to exist, so it's good you resigned your fate."

But as she pulls the arrow back, something unexpected happens. Gramps jumped down from the building and he is diving chest first into the quincy. The sternritter doesn't seem too surprised as she turns and casually shoots off the left arm of the withered hollow, as well as most of his left side.

As Gramps hits the ground however the ground erupts as if hit by a bomb. The shockwave is so powerful it sends both of you flying into the nerby building. When the dust settles you can see Gramps in what can be described only as a crater, and the woman under several large pieces of rubble.

The old hollow seems to have met his end when he hit the ground, unfortunately the woman only seems to have suffered mild concussion.
And with this, the session has come to a close. I'd keep going, but I can feel myself getting slower. However I'll do the next one tomorrow if you are intrested.

I'll also answer some questions now, while I archive the thread

No luck bois
>>
>>45989254
So that's a yes to reincarnation? Cool he deserved it. More based than a hollow should be. Eating him depends on how much time we have.
>>
>>45989238
The quincy is still alive. If you vote next session to curbstomp her while she is dead and roll good, then sure you can nom her as well.

I'm planning on running tomorrow 16:00 UTC/GMT timezone, but perhaps later. Depends on how fast can I get my IRL shit done
>>
>>45989254
>His ability was to make his body much more dense

I can only imagine what a punch from that would be like. Damn son.
>>
>>45989295
So is this going to be rather crunchy or fluffy?

More narrativist or will we have level ups?

Will we get to the "must eat my hollow cousins" stage? Dice, don't fuck us.
>>
>>45989291
I already have what powers MC hollow will have / possibly already has. But if you guys can get creative, and it's not overpowered I'll allow it.
You also have mucus on your body, which will be important.

Other than that, writing in specific lines, or other stuff that didn't mention is highly encouraged. Anything that is not metagamin/smut will be allowed and left for the dice gods to decide if it works or not.
>>
>>45989382
I prefer narrative, but depends on what you guys would enjoy more.

I'd rather not have "stat raising" as an activity, and having "training" take place in timeskips.
The option "let's go train" would otherwise always win, and we'd do nothing but that
>>
>>45989385
Do write-ins lower the DC?

You should use set DC's instead of a rolled number. Getting a DC >6 is pretty fucking hard to beat with 3d10's.
>>
Also I'm going to give you anons my twatter.
Send your questions there and I'll answer it.
Let the thread die and not take up space anymore

> @SpookyngQM
>>
>>45989424
Hollows don't train anyway, they grow in a rather linear fashion based on how much they eat. The more they eat and the older they get the more powerful, but they need to eat higher concentrations of spirit energy to not go fuckass mad. So they eat pluses, then hollows/shinigami/quincy, then they get together and have a feastcannibalism orgy and -maybe- come out the other end a swole ass manlet. Then they eat a fucking lot. All the time.

They don't really sit around and lift, they don't have time for it.
>>
>>45989441
Write-ins lower the dc if you fuckers get so creative you find a new and easier approach for the problem. Otherwise the dc stays.

I'll also pay attention more and will give lower DCs for appropriate stuff. And I'll post more DCs more often
>>
>>45989531
You should get an ask.
>>
>>45989503
Hollows tend to fight with instinct, rather than finesse. Brute strength.

If you want to you can go somewhere when you have time and practice some moves, maybe make new ones. You might become great innovators in hollow history.

Being a hollow who actually is a capable combatant and not just about raw power might be intresting
>>
>>45989549
Will do certainly.

By the time I'm done with the char sheet I'll get that ready too
>>
>>45989592
We're already a sneaky fuck, as long as people don't fuck that up as a running theme we'll pull a shinigami on the shinigami. They actually need to sneak up on hollows to get a coup-de-grace because they have tiny biceps, hah.
>>
There, ask.fm has been made

@Spookyng
>>
>>45989681
They have to do that, because anything else gets laughed at by High Speed Regeneration.

You only got to be so sneaky, because you got a crit on your sneak check. So thank the dice gods you can fully conceal your Reiatsu now, albeit its still janky
>>
>>45989441
>>45989531

No, DC 6 is actually pretty easy. 8 is where it starts to get hard.
>>
>>45989756
I think most people are afraid of other 3d10 quests with their horrid luck with rolls in regards to crits.

>"Oh look, DC of 4, ez!"
>10, 9, 1
>2, 3, 3
>5, 7, 1
>"Fugg"
>>
>>45989756
>6 means larger than, 7 and up.
>>
>>45989842
no, DC6 means 6 and up
>>
>>45989889
I know, but i wrote "A DC >6", which means larger that six. I could just have written seven and up.
>>
>>45989830
Well this thread was much worse luckwise than most others I've seen with this system. Plus you only need 2 out of three rolls higher than 4, so your example would pass a DC 9.

>>45989842
So DC six means larger than 7 and up? /you think we need 8's to pass a DC 6? Lmao dude.

>>45989915
No, you greentexted the line and it came out all retarded is what you did.
>>
>>45989441
>>45989950
I literally quoted my own post, i just fucked it up cause i forgot about the greentext.
>>
>>45989950
>in regards to crits

I feel like you missed that part.

A 4 sounds like an easy crit, which it should be, but the dice tend to say "fuck you".
>>
>>45990065
Ok, ignoring the fucked up post, DC 7 still isn't that hard. I'd say it's a good DC for a moderately difficult task.

>>45990161
Crits in this quest don't work like that, it's just a higher target. See >>45985589

>Give me 3d10 (DC:5 Critical:7)
>>
>>45990215
It would be simpler if it was 3d10's and then we just used the final result no?
>>
>>45990253
You mean the total of the dice, like Banished Quest? That would be a bit better imo.
>>
>>45984986

>>45990215
Bruh
>>
>>45990215
that was a special case.

usually it's a crit if all 3 numbers pass the dc.

In unusual cases I give two different cases.

Passing the lower meant you managed to hide but they still could detect you, passing the second meant you were completely impossible to detect, which shouldn't even exist and yet now it does
>>
>>45990299
Yeah. The QM can just kinda wing it with "levels" of difficulty instead of having exact numbers.
>>
>>45990383
fuck me I'm getting tired.

I meant I give two different DCs
>>
>>45990320
>>45990383
Nvm I was wrong. That exception confused me. Yea, crit's are pretty unlikely for any DC above a 3.

>>45990400
The classic 1d100 best of 3 would be good too.
>>
>>45990441
We'll see, tomorrow I'll try using this "final result" system. I'd still give the DC before the rolls though.

Otherwise people would get mad
>>
>>45990441
Yeah, my major beef with 3d-anything is that it's so average. to get a 10/10/10 you have a 1/1000 chance, so awesome stuff just won't happen.

I prefer d20's myself where crits happen more often, but you just write them as great successes instead, and two 20's give you supercrits.
>>
>>45990503
Hey, we have 3 chances, so it's more like 1/333 to get the triple 10. Not completely hopeless!

I know because I've gotten a triple 1.

Honestly I like the d100 crits the most. 15% each for success or failure on a d20 best of 3 is too much, 0.3% on this system is too few. 3% is just right.
>>
>>45990911
Yeah, d100's are probably the best for quests, but i don't like them cause the bonuses get to big if you use them. Big numbers really annoy me when questing for some reason, maybe it's because i'm used to d20's.
>>
Oh, and the threads been archived, but whoever wrote the description hates the quest.
>>
>>45991152
>No quest specific tag
>>
any artfags here?
>>
>>45991152
>>45991271
Fuck I'll try to take care of it next time. I hate promising quests where the OP doesn't archive.
>>
Okay so reading up
When a person dies and becomes a spirit the spirit eventually becomes a hollow which lives on feasting in the human world

When a hollow is purified by a shinigami the soul inside goes to soul society/reborn/whatever and the sins get sent into hueco mundo where they become a hollow in the eating orgy pits where they evolve and shit

Question is, if we dont get purified do we still have a way of getting to hueco mundo
>>
>>45991737
We instinctively know how to open a Garganta. Which is a portal, we just haven't tried yet.
>>
>>45991737
>and the sins get sent into hueco mundo
Negatory. Hollows that are properly dispatched by a shinigami revert to being a "plus" and end up in feudal ghost Japan. You can't get two souls out of the deal.

Going to ghost Mexico is just something hollows can do naturally.
