You look at the tiger cloak that's hanging next to the door, and decide that you'll wait for a special occasion instead of wearing it around casually. Your brother, tired eyed, opens the door and stumbles in. He gives you a wave, heading directly for his bedroom. "Morning, Takeshi. Did you eat breakfast?"

You shake your head, telling him that you were just getting ready to prepare some before a shower.

Taking the book of the shelf, you walk over to their table and quietly take a seat next to Shinji. Himawari and Kayo sit across from you, and the former looks up from her book while the latter is still fast asleep. She smiles slightly, and speaks in an even softer voice than she usually may. "Hello, Takeshi. I guess you've come to study as well?" You nod, and place your book on the table and open it. Looking over, Shinji briefly holds up his hand in a friendly gesture, acknowledging you before getting back to reading. You're not surprised that he'd choose to focus on his studies rather than speak, it is a library after all.

"Hope you don't mind if I join you guys."

Himawari shakes her head. "Of course not, just don't wake Kayo. That's how we know if we're being too loud."

You give her a thumbs up before diving into your book. "Got it."

After an hour a half, you feel that you completely understand the theory behind the Water Walking Jutsu. It's pretty much a direct advancement of the Tree Walking Jutsu, and you've completely mastered that with little issue. Considering your good chakra control, the same should be true for this when you put it to practice.

Himawari shakes Kayo's shoulder gently, as it's time to go. She rubs her eyes and wipes her mouth, before looking at you drowzy eyed. "Eh? When did he get here..?"

The four of you leave the library. You're getting ready to depart, but you have a moment to say something to the group if you wish.

Akahiko is still asleep on Kayo's head, you notice. She smiles faintly, though it's clear she's still half asleep as well. "Yeah, cool, totally." She yawns, stretching her mouth open widely so that you can see four pointed fangs.

They all go their seperate ways as you say goodbye, and you head for the Hokage's Office.

You enter, and see Sarada seated in front of his desk. It's just you and her in here, right now. She turns around, and glares. "What are you doing here?"

You blink. "The Hokage asked me to come, this morning."

She grumbles. "Hmm, he asked me to come here as well. Of course, I've been here for an hour and he hasn't shown up!"

Shrugging, you take the other seat next to her. "I'm sure he'll show up soon enough. At least now we can chat to pass the time, right?"

"Right.." she mutters. After a few seconds of silence, she turns and looks at you fiercely. "What was the deal with you and my mom the other day?? I've never seen her like that, and she wouldn't tell me!"

You shake your head. "No idea at all, really. I was just afraid as you were, tell the truth. I guess it means I can come over any time now, right?"

She looks at you flatly, unamused, although your intentions are completely innocent. "No, it doesn't mean that."

The door behind the two of you opens, and Mitsuki steps in. A chill crawls up your spine at once as you look at his calm smile, remembering the night in the forest. Of course, you know his violent behavior was due to a jutsu that he'd used. It doesn't particularly help in relaxing you.

Granted, once he steps over and greets you, there's little tension. He bows. "Congratulations on your success, Takeshi!"

You chuckle, and smile. "Thanks!"

A moment later, both Naruto and Boruto step through the door. Boruto has his hands placed in a relaxed position behind his head, and his dad steps around to his desk. "Good morning, everyone. Glad to see that we're here already!"

Sarada shouts. "It's nearly noon!"

Naruto chooses to simply ignore her, and continue. "I've asked you all to come here personally, and at the time I said that I had a surprise for you. The heart of this matter is a special mission that I want to assign to the four of you, as what may be my most finely skilled squad of young shinobi."

You glance around briefly, and everyone is listening intently.

"Do you remember the incident with the Jashinist spy, in our village?"

Your stomach flips at the thought. Of course you remember. Everyone else nods quietly.

"We have reason to believe that he, and possibly another agent, is using one of Orochimaru's old hideouts as a drop point to exchange information. This is how mission details keep leaking, we believe. Even if they're not using the information directly for their goals, it's possible that they could be selling other mission information to criminal groups. I need you four to scout out this hideout, and try to recover any relevant information, and detain /any/ present people."

He slides a map across to you, specifically. "This is the way to the hideout. Takeshi, I want you on this mission thanks to your skills as both a leader and an interrogator."

Sarada looks over. "Interrorgator!?"

Naruto laughs boisterously. "That's right, Takeshi's probably full of more tricks than you'd know what to do with, Sarada! That's why it's important that the three of you listen to him. You're all incredible shinobi, but you need a good leader to hold the team together."

You notice Boruto's pronounced silence. He now has his arms crossed, and you gather that he isn't happy with this information. Hopefully it won't become a problem.

Naruto stands up. "You're all dismissed. Tell no one that you're leaving the village."

The four of you stand and take your leave, and depart. The only people who know you've left are the gate guards, who have been informed beforehand.

The hideout isn't far, but you've got time to talk to your current group.

Before you get too far into the walk, you decide that it'd be best to address everyone as a group. You know that there must be some strong feelings here, mostly from Boruto and Sarada. Are two people as prideful as them going to be okay with having you, someone they looked down on, as their leader?

You step in front of them. "Okay everyone, I want to talk to you for a moment about something important. I'm going to have to ask that you all follow my instructions to the letter, but I don't say this because I have a lack of faith in your abilities. I couldn't have asked for a better team of Genin, but I just want to address any possible concerns. We are risking our lives, after all."

Mitsuki smiles. "No qualms from me."

Sarada answers flatly. "You outrank me. Simple. Now, outskill? That's debatable.."

Boruto stares at you fiercly for a short moment, before dropping his crossed arms to his sides. "The way I see it, you did beat me in a fair fight. There's no denying that. But..I beat Sarada, so at least I know I'm not the weakest person here right now!"

For the briefest moment, he looks at you with a cocky, bur friendly grin.

He chuckles before she gasps and slaps him hard enough to send him sky high.

After a good laugh, you're on your way again.

It's early in the afternoon by the time you reach the base. The four of you stop, and Sarada looks over. "Me and Mitsuki will do a brief scan of the outside before heading in." You give the thumbs up, and Sarada activates her Sharingan while Mitsuki is going through handsigns. "Predator Sight Jutsu"

He blinks once, and his snakelike eyes seem to change color from yellow to red. He quietly explains what he's doing. "This Jutsu lets me see heat signatures. As of now, I'm not detecting anything similar to a human outside of the base. Sarada?"

She crosses her arms. "There's actually a number of masses of chakra inside of the base. I'd estimate a dozen by my count, but they're all pretty close together. Some kind of circle..?"

Boruto looks over. "How are we proceeding?"

The base is built into a small hill, and the front entrance in front of you is a concrete bunker and door. It looks as though it'd be possible to blast it open, but that would immediately give away your position.

It only takes him a few seconds to dig through the dirt before he pops out of his hole, a serious look on his face. "They're all in large, hooded cloaks. From what I can tell, there is a number of innocent villagers from the surrounding towns! The Jashinists have come here for a gathering. There's no time to run and tell the village, as well."

Boruto takes a step forward. "We have to bust in there! Let's go!"

"Wait!" you say. "We have a chance to sneak in. If we can get the advantage, we'll have a better shot of saving everyone." Boruto backs down, though he has clenched fists. "Then let's hurry up.."

Sarada steps forward. "Mitsuki, transform into one of them, and we'll follow your lead."

He does so, and you all turn into the miscellaneous cloaked cultists. Following your ally through the tunnel, you come out on the inside, in a hallway leading to the main room. You all exit and clean yourselves off, before keeping your heads low and stepping in to join the ritual.

Hopefully no one cares that there are a couple of extras.

You all enter the circle, and the scene in front of you is horrifying to an extreme that would have made you faint, if you were younger.

The scent of blood hits you all in the face, but that's not the worst of it. The people in the center have had their legs and arms crippled, twisted in a similar fashion as the woman on the night of the murder. It occurs to you that you never learned her name.

You gulp, your throat dry. You can scarcely imagine what the others are thinking at this moment, glancing at their hooded faces. From the circle steps forth a hooded figure. He has a katana with a black sheath at his side, and is considerably shorter than all the other cultists present. You and Sarada both turn and look at each other, confused.

As if to answer your question, the figure removes the hood of his robe. At once your eyes go wide, and it takes everything you have not to cry out in shock.

It's you. The cultist in front of you looks nearly exactly like you. There are slight differences, his hair is cut much shorter in a military crop, and is a jet black as opposed to your brown. His skin is much more pale as well.

You can feel your three allies look at you in confusion, or maybe to get a live comparison.

The figure speaks. "I'm glad that this local cabal could be present for the ceremony. After tonight, you will all have a taste of the immortality that Lord Jashin has gifted myself with. To think! Walking among eternity, able to worship our Lord day in and day out with the utmost fervor. A blessing.."

He smiles fondly. The boy's eyes are glazed over, and he looks around the circle. The people below him moan and cry, men and women alike. "Please, no..!"

"What is this!?"

The boy opens up his cloak, and slowly draws out an ornate dagger. "This is freedom. Don't you see!?"

He's about to lunge down with the dagger! Next to you, you can feel Boruto getting ready to leap to attack!

Boruto jumps forward. "I won't let you, you creep!"

He brings his hands together and preforms the Shadow Clone Jutsu. Two clones appear at Boruto's side while he charges, and the one on the right forms a Rasengan. The leftmost clone flies through handsigns as Boruto keeps charging. It shouts the name of it's technique, "Water Style: Punt!". After exhaling a brief stream of water that forms into an orb, the clone leaps up and kicks it.

The projectile flies through the air, just past the original charging Boruto. One of the cloaked figures leaps in front of the young cultist. He's launched backwards, taking the brunt of the attack with little concern, soon standing. Suddenly, from the crowd, another cloaked figure bursts forward at high speed. It blocks Boruto's path, and he responds by locking his kunai against the figure's blade. From what you can tell, this cloaked figure isn't much taller than Boruto itself. You look over, and Sarada has her Sharingan activated. Mitsuki is watching quietly, not acting without your instruction. In the stealthiest fashion you can manage, you throw down a bell with wire attached. Your chakra slowly travels along it, while Boruto battles.

Looking to the left, you notice a cloaked figure leaving the area. You have no chance to pursue currently, but you note it mentally anyways. Back to the fight, Boruto jumps into the air to give the clone behind him an oppurtunity to strike with a Rasengan. The swirling wind from the jutsu blasts the figure's hood off of it's cloak, and the long pink hair and dark skin tells you that it's Asuka! Confusion swirls in your mind. Why is a Cloud Shinobi here at this meeting? Is she a spy as well? But she's so young!

Of course, so is your current enemy here. She whips her blade upwards, a thin slice of wind destroying the clone before the Rasengan could reach her.

Boruto yells "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" once more, this time making five copies of himself.

Your doppleganger is moving towards the civilians once more, and you look to Mitsuki. "My jutsu is almost ready! I need you to evac as many of them as possible! Sarada, cover him while I do this!"

Disposing of your transformation, you activate the Paralyzing Bells. Tugging on the string, a crystal clear sound rings through the crowd that paralyzes all of the Jashinists at once. Boruto giggles, and lands. All of the clones gather Rasengan in their hands, and charge the helpless cultists before blasting them away. He strikes Asuka, and she's blasted away, leaving an imprint of her body in the stone. She falls off, flattened like a pancake and groaning before dropping her sword.

Boruto grins, charging once more with a Rasengan at the frozen, young cultist. The pale faced doppleganger of you stares at him with lifeless eyes, seemingly indifferent to the approaching attack.

At the last moment, stunning everyone, he leaps away, completely defying your Paralyzing Bells! Your eyes go wide open as you scan the situation, confused, before you notice flecks of blood leaking from the pale boy's hand, as he grips a kunai. He must have been gripping the blade tightly at the time of your genjutsu, dispelling it as soon as it took effect.

He flies through the air, before turning and looking towards you with a grin.

Asuka, and several of the cultists, all crawl back to their feet. Others who were cloaked have ran. Mitsuki and Sarada are carrying off the last of the innocents.

As you begin to go through the handsigns for the False Sound jutsu, a sight across the cavern frightens you. The pale boy is preforming the same handsigns. You mentally tell Boruto your true plan, as you begin to speak and tell him a false one. While you and him actually use your clone jutsu, you'll pretend to be telling him to prepare ranged attacks.

In response to this, all of the cultists start charging the two of you down even faster. At once, a voice echoes inside of your head. "I guess you're the leader, then? Issuing commands silently. An uncommon application, no doubt.."

You do your best to ignore his somewhat pompous, bored voice. Cancelling the False Sound jutsu on Boruto, you preform the Haze Clone Jutsu as he does his Multi Shadow Clones. Dozens of illusions of you, and at least a hundred clones of Boruto all meet the charging cultists. They're swarmed and overtaken, surprised by the sudden force.

The pale boy takes a step forward as his soldiers fall, but Asuka walks in front of him. "Shozuku.." she says. So, he's not you. Good.

The one apparently named Shozuku places a hand on her shoulder, and pushes her aside gently as he walks forward.

He clasps his hands together. "Boil Release: Water Dragon Jutsu!"

Multiple of the Boruto's all stop, suddenly. You freeze. "What!?"

Shozuku flies through so many handsigns in a matter of seconds that you would not be able to name the jutsu he's using if he had not already done so. From his gullet, the cultist expels a green-ish white liquid, foamy. It hits the stone floor at starts to sizzle and eat into it violently, but not before flying up in a swirl to twist around.

The face of the dragon forms from the acid, and it roars before flying forward directly at the center of the clones.

Having no where else to go, you leap directly upwards. You use the tree walking jutsu to stick to the stone ceiling. The real Boruto does this as well, looking over at you with wide eyes. "What the hell was that!?"

You turn back, and look down. The explosion of acid has left a crater in the center of the cavern, a pit of vile green liquid bubbling just underneath you.

Some splashed onto the ceiling, and ate through the stone to let the sun in. Rays of light highlight the scene, and still living cultists praise their god in a few short moans, before being totally consumed by the chemical swamp.

Both you and Boruto leap, and land on the opposite end of the pit of acid.

Sarada and Mitsuki run in the room, and step next to you. "What is this!?" yells Sarada.

"Acid." Boruto curtly responds. "Don't get it on you. He can use jutsu with it."

Mitsuki's face is deadly serious, and you get the impression that he knows what kind of power that really is. "We were able to move them to a relatively safe location, so they could go on their way back to the village."

You look over. "Good. That leaves just one more thing.."

The four of you look to Shozuku and Asuka. He holds his hands out in a gesture. "Well? Have you decided to forfeit your lives?"

As you're going through the handsigns for the False Sound Jutsu, you notice that Shozuku does once more as well. Is he going to taunt you again? Mentally, you start to tell your team your plan. Split into two, Mitsuki and Boruto take out Asuka while you and Sarada handle Shozuku. You look to your team for confirmation, but they're simply holding their heads in annoyance. "He's mimicking your voice!" yells Boruto.

Sarada grumbles. "Ugh, he's using the same jutsu! Just stop!"

You cancel the False Sound, and choose to simply tell everyone what to do personally. "If you can, summon your animals as well! They'll help us keep the pressure off so we can move this fight outside."

Boruto, Mitsuki, and Sarada all bite their thumbs and slap their palms on the ground. Three giant puffs of smoke, and there is a pink and white slug, a light blue snake, and a black and red toad. They're all roughly equal in size, the snake and toad being the same sized ones that you've seen before. Sarada's slug is a bit smaller.

She thrusts out her hand. "You're not the only one who can use Acid! Takeshi, Lady Tsukuya! Let's go!"

At once, the pink slug spits her own stream of green-ish white foam at the boy. He responds by forming the handsigns for a Boil Release version of Rising Water Cutter. He slings his hand forward to release a vertical crescent wave of acid, ripping through the stone before shooting across the crater in the center to split Tsukuya's acid stream. Off to the left, Boruto and Mitsuki are charging down Asuke with their summoned animals.

Sarada takes a step to go after them, but the clone of Shozuku shouts. "Stop! You want to beat me at my own game, is that it? Well, doppleganger! Let's see which one of us is the more powerful shinobi?"

He finishes forming handsigns, at says the name of his technique. "Boil Release: Water Beast Jutsu."

At once the acid in the crater begins to bubble up, until it rises to create a gigantic beast, the head of a wolf, a torso, and two clawed arms. The monster's base swirls as it turns and looks at you, growling like an ocean storm. It looks down at you and Sarada, and you get the impression that the beast is getting ready to attack.

What do you do?

If we have time while engaging, use hydro sword, currently we have no idea about his CQC skills, and with ours mostly centered around defending, it could give us an offensive edge.

Again you use the Haze Clone Jutsu, drawing from your chakra pool. Dozens of clones appear at once, all grinning in a somewhat nervous fashion at the beast in front of them. Off in the distance, you can see numerous clones of Boruto, as well as Mitsuki and their summoned animals battling. A glance at the real Shozuku shows you that he wield his katana with extreme efficiency, even going so far as to bash the clones with the sheath of his weapon.

From what you can see, he far surpasses Boruto in terms of Taijutsu. You direct your eyes back up to the water beast.

It occurs to you that he far surpasses all of you in Ninjutsu, possibly. You look over. "Sarada, use your strongest techniques on this thing, okay!? I'll get him!"

She nods. "Right!"

You run off, and Sarada leaps up. The monster points it's mouth down, before firing a highly pressurized stream of acid.

It strikes the rocks between you and her, and you and your numerous clones run away at full speed. You use Shunshin to dash, but flecks of the acid splash onto your calf and burn you fiercely, and cause you to stumble.

You hit the stone hard, and look behind you. A rushing wave of the burning liquid is tearing through the stone towards you, at high speed. Using raw chakra and strength, you burst up into the air away from the acid, landing on your good leg as the remainder of your clones escape to the other side away from the wave. You throw senbon at the clone of Shozuku, but it simple weaves it's body around, laughing.

Sarada jumps off of the wall, and flies through handsigns. She holds up a kunai, and enhances it with lightning natured chakra before throwing it. Like a mighty arrow it pierces the chest of the beast, and acid splashes out the back. It lands on the clone of Shozuku, which disperses.

She lands next to you, sweating. The real Shozuku stops, and rapidly preforms several jutsu. "Fire Clone Jutsu!" Two clones of him leap up into the mouth of Mitsuki's descending snake. They explode, blasting it's head wide open as the boy is sprayed with blood. He laughs, and just as a roaring Mitsuki leaps in with a kick, Asuka dashes in past Boruto to slash the back of his leg wide open.

The snake-like boy hits the ground, sliding.

The acid beast in front of you is starting to lose form, but Shozuku finishes the next set of handsigns. He's controlling the monster again, and the chest of it is sealing back up.

It turns around to you, growling. Mitsuki's leg is bleeding profusely, but he uses the technique that he used in the forest to heal himself. He crawls out of his own body, leaving it behind like a shed skin. He's safe, but he's lot a lot of chakra, and his summon animal.

Boruto and his toad both leap at Asuka, and she's launched to the side as she fails to block the toad's mighty kick.

Shozuku runs forward, and jumps up. "Acid Walking Jutsu!"

He lands on the head of the beast in front of you, standing safely.

Boruto is forming a Vanishing Rasengan, but Mitsuki stops him. "No! A move like that will just spray the acid everywhere!!"

The Hokage's son growls, unsure of what to do. "Then what do we got..!?"

You replenish the amount of Haze Clones that you have, and Boruto also brings out another helping of Shadow Clones. Looking at each other, you can very clearly feel the drain on your chakra pools. You've had to use technique after technique to stay afloat, and you feel the same is for every everyone else right now. Mitsuki stumbles over. "I'll watch your rear, go!"

Jumping, you chuck your folded up Fuuma Shuriken to Sarada. She catches it and nods. "Right!"

Shozuku looks down. "Eh? What do you all think you're doing, huh?"

You use the False Sight jutsu to disguise some of your clones as Boruto's.

Shozuku frowns, forming handsigns as you do as well.

Seconds later, Boruto looks down. "W-what!? What the hell's happening!? Get them off me!!"

Sarada turns, wide-eyed. "What's your problem!?"

Boruto points down. "Snakes are- AGH!"

He falls over on nothing, trapped in a genjutsu where snakes have entangled his legs. The clones of him all around you disperse, and the Acid monster rears it's head. Sarada runs forward as Mitsuki takes Boruto out of combat, and she flips once in the air before throwing the charged Fuuma Shuriken. "Lightning Flicker!!!"

It spins rapidly, singing across the air until it splints the monster directly in half, and creates a gouge in the ceiling. The light of the setting sun is let in, and you notice Shozuku leap up and through the crevice, attempting to escape.

You jump up, but you're forced to draw your tanto to block a bloody Asuka's blade. She pushes you back down, crashing towards the pool of acid!

Sarada tackles her mid-air, sending her sword flying as they tangle in the dirt several feet away.

You're plummeting to your death. What do you do?
