Welcome back to WrestleQuest! Last thread, The Ace won his second match ever, against none other than his best friend "Princess" Kimberly Cross! Celebrations were short lived, however, as The Ace was attacked from behind and ganged up on by resident TWA tag team, The Ghouls! With your first official feud underway, your pro-wrestling career is beginning to find it's feet.

As you step through the curtain, you are welcomed with an affectionate hug from Kimberly. "That was great, Ace! I mean, maybe it wasn't, but it felt great to me! Was it good for you?" Realising the words that came out of her mouth, she turns red (Well... redder, the match already left her pretty exhausted.) She shook her head as she nervously adjusted her top. "Never mind! Point is, I'm excited about what's next. Steinberg asked me if I could work Monday as soon as I came backstage, and you've even got a feud set-up!"

You remember the conversation you had with Steinberg a few hours before the show began. The Ghouls attacked you after your match tonight, setting up a singles match against Jimmy Ghoul on Monday, followed by a tag team match next Friday. Of course, you'll need a partner for then, a task Steinberg has graciously left to you. Seeing as you only have one actual friend out of the TWA roster, and that person plays a Heel, you may need to get to know a few people better. Most of the TWA crew are going out for drinks after the show, so it might be a good idea to join them.

>Yeah, I'll go out after the show. Better to know the people I'll be working with in the near future.
>Nah, I can get to know people some other time. I'll call it an early night.

Excitable Kimberly is cute. We should congratulate her on getting the Monday show.

I decided not to write up the stats of the skills to make the individual posts less cluttered looking, but I keep the Character Sheet Pastebin updated, and you can see what the skills do there.

You decide to go out with the rest of the roster after the show, but you'll have to wait until the show is over until then, and you and Kimberly had the opening match. Kimberly hands you a bottle of water to cool yourself off with as the show keeps going.

>"Kingpin" David Fisk def. Nameless Jobber
A very quick squash match. Despite the short lengths of his battles, Fisk comes across very convincingly as a monster, and the crowd has come to support him. You're pretty sure Steinberg intended to build Fisk as a monster HEEL, but over is over. You doubt there'll be any complaints.

>The Hooligans def. Angelo & Jenny Deth
The story going into this one is that tensions had been rising between the high-flying sensation Angelo and the vicious and hardcore Jenny Deth on the last few shows, despite the two being forced to team together. Angelo takes a cheap roll-up to end the match. Adding insult to injury, Jenny turns on her partner right afterwards, taking a steel chair to the poor guy.

>"The Professional" Miles Draven def. "Diamond" Danny Gable
You can't believe Gable managed to land such a good spot on the card, against an established indy star like Draven. He even got a special entrance, accompanied by dancing girls, as he himself tried to bust a move. It looked goofy as hell, but it was all part of Gable's act. The match went a good 15 minutes, but eventually Gable ate an Electric Chair into a German Suplex for the three count. Despite the loss, it seems the endorsement from Kevin Omega's shoot did wonders for the guy's status.

>MAIN EVENT: Owen Barnes def. Adam Black to retain TWA Title
A rematch from Monday, and it's just as good as it was then. A lot of the same spots are hit, but with several new twists to make it interesting. Barnes comes out on top once again to end the show.

>Later that night

"OUT OF THE WAY, I'M CARRYING DRINKS HERE!" Danny Gable called as he shoved past a few people to reach the booth where you were sitting alongside David and Kimberly. "Okay, if I've got this right... the Whiskey is for Ace, the water is for Princess and this lovely pink cocktail is for Kingpin, right?" He wasn't joking. That was his genuine guess.

"Ugh, idiot..." Kimberly mumbled angrily as she switched the drinks into the correct order.

"Thanks for the drinks," David said, still mostly covered by his jacket and wool hat. He didn't even bother to look at Gable. Gable scratched the back of head.

"I did promise I would buy a drink for everyone in the Dojo when we graduated," he replied, "and I decided I should now that we're here and I'm making all these DOLLA-"

"Don't do the bit," Kimberly snapped, "you already looked stupid in the mall today."

>Come on Kimberly, if he wants to do the dumb thing where he makes it rain single dollar bills, let him!
>Yeah man, I really felt embarrassed for you earlier.

>>45905704

"You know I'm not worried about him looking dumb, right? He does that by default." Kimberly pouts as Danny struggles to pull his wallet from his tight pants. "I'm just worried we'll look dumb by association."

As Gable begins to throw out his single dollars, he poses a question to the group. "So, why are you guys sitting together instead of chatting with the rest of the guys? If you don't make an effort to mingle, they're going to start thinking we're a Clique!"

"Trust me Danny, we'll never be part of the same Clique," Kimberly answered. "Besides, Fisk isn't that sociable to begin with, Ace is happy to spend time with us, and you just want to hit on the women, and you're not going to do that because you're worried that Jenny Deth will actually murder you if you try anything with her."

"And what's YOUR excuse, Princess?"

Kimberly resigns in her chair. "Shut up."

Danny gives a hearty laugh as he takes the rare victory over Kim. "So Ace, you're ready to mix it up with the TWA crew, right? Whadda you say?"

>The Main Eventers (Barnes, Black & Draven) seem to be having a nice conversation a few booths over. Maybe we should join them.
>Angelo, The Hooligans & The Ghouls are all by the jukebox with the TWA house band. We could hop in that group.

"YAHOO! I Knew you were the sociable type, Ace!" Danny exclaimed as he practically dragged you out of your chair and the two of you made your way over to the large group. Almost everyone was deep in conversation about all kinds of music and bands, as you would have expected. There are two hold-outs in the group who don't seem to be engaging in the talk however. Angelo is standing slightly detached from everyone with his arms crossed and with a sour look on his face. The female singer from the band is also not involved in all of the talk, as she stands awkwardly with a toothless smile on her face, bopping slightly along with the song on the jukebox with a red paper cup in her hand. Squeezing in with the rest of the crowd would be difficult at this point, so if you which to attempt conversation, one of these two are your apparent options.

You decide to approach Angelo, and get to know the high-flyer, even though he doesn't seem to be in the best of moods.

"Hey, what's up? I'm-"

"-Ace, I know." His Brazilian accent comes in clear as he speaks, and you realise you've never actually heard him talk before. Despite his high-flying ability, he isn't the most charismatic guy in world, so TWA made sure to keep him away from the microphone. "You did good out there tonight. You and Princess have pretty good chemistry."

"Well, we've known each-other since our early training days, so it's only natural-"

"Why do you look so grumpy, anyway?" Danny butt in to the conversation, completely uninvited. You sigh, as Angelo takes a sip of his drink.

"If you watched tonight, you know Jenny Deth split up our tag team," he answers. You nod, listening. "Well, our team was short lived. We were always going to break up and go back to feuding, but it wasn't supposed to happen this early. Jenny requested that things be moved along and we break up faster because, well... I tried to kiss her last week. Big mistake."

Danny burst into laughter. "Dude, don't you know how crazy Jenny Deth is about that stuff. If she even thinks you're hitting on her, you're a dead man! Oh boy!"

Angelo grunts. "Yes... we're having a one-off blow off match on Monday, because she doesn't intend on working with me again, and I'm very worried she's going to stiff me during it."

>Well... good luck with that.
>I could try talking to Jenny. I'm sure I could reason with her.

[YOUR CONNECTION WITH ANGELO HAS REACHED RANK 1]

"It's your funeral," Angelo tells you, "but if you could try it out, I would greatly appreciate it. She's right over there." He points towards Jenny Deth, leaning against a barstool, checking out something on her smartphone. She seems to be wearing the same clothes she uses as ring gear, with a pair of denim mini-shorts and a black tank top.

"You're actually going to go over and talk to her?" Danny asks. "Pretty bold move, dude."

"I would have thought you would come with. Didn't you plan on hitting on her?" you ask.

Danny throws his arms up in protest. "N-no way! Her scary levels over-weigh her hot levels! I-I wouldn't dare try anything! How dumb do you think I am?"

You decide not to dignify the question with an answer, instead leaving Danny to scratch the back of his head. "That dumb, huh? Whatever, I'm not the one trying to play diplomat with Jenny freakin Deth..."

That said, you take a deep breath and make your way over to Jenny, who is engrossed in her smartphone. You decide to get her attention with a simple question.

"So, what'cha looking at?"

Without looking up from her phone, she replies. "Some sucker on E-bay is pretty much giving a box of knives away for a steal."

You're taken aback. "Knives?"

"Yes, a box of knives. I like knives. Who are you to judge my lifestyle?" She then thinks for a moment, and looks up from her phone. She pulls back her lengthy brown hair in order to see your face. "Wait, who are you in general?" You realise she doesn't recognise you without the mask.

"Oh, I'm The Ace. I was on the show tonight."

Jenny places her phone into her pocket and crosses her arms. "Huh, and here I thought all the guys who wore masks were ugly as sin."

>Thanks, you don't look too bad yourself.

"Well, aren't you charming?" Jenny gives off a high-pitched laugh and places a hand on your shoulder, which she slowly curls in as she threateningly grabs your shirt. "Listen honey, you're new around here, so I was going to give you ONE free pass, but I guess you already used it up. I don't know if you were filled in on the situation, but I don't like you guys trying to hit on me. I'm a wrestler, not a road rat or a groupie, and I don't need people drooling over me wherever I go. If you came over here thinking that you could be the guy who melts my icy exterior and teach me to love, you are a fucking idiot. And I like to beat up idiots. Got it?" She loosens her grip on you and places her hand back on her glass as she takes a swig of her drink. You see that she's very easy to set off. This encounter may have more in common with a minefield than a conversation.

"I'm guessing that WASN'T the reason you came over here, though. What do you want?"

"Look, if there's anything I can do to make it-"

"Pay for my next drink." Jenny doesn't even let you finish, then laughs at your stunned silence. "5$. Cough it up. You got paid tonight."

I was willing to give that dumbass more than a few free passes, but he kept thinking that just because we were in an angle with eachother, he could try to get close to me. I don't want to work with people who keep trying to push me like that."

"Yeah, well Angelo's a little worried that you're going to try to stiff him in your match on Monday..."

"Wouldn't be wrong." Jenny was very matter-of-fact. "I wouldn't try to injure the guy or anything, but I don't think I could help myself from making things a little bit rougher on the slimeball."

>As long as that's all you do, I suppose it's fine.

>[BOLD 1/3] Angelo fucked up, but he's already learned his lesson. You already cut a storyline short on the poor guy, don't throw stiffing him in the ring on top of it! [ROLL D20]

Time to explain social skill checks! Every skill check has a "required" rank for you to have in said social skill. You can make the choice no matter your rank, but you will suffer a penalty for your rolls for every rank you are below the required level (and a positive modifier for every rank you are above it). So in this instance, your rolls will receive a -2 modifier during the check.

"I'm glad I have the rookie's permission," Jenny Deth replied sardonically. "Thanks for the beer money. Now, scram." She waves you away as she turns her attention back to her smartphone and you return to Angelo.

"Well...?" he asks.

"I couldn't get through to her, but she says she isn't going to do anymore than work a little rougher on Monday."

Angelo sighed. "I suppose that's the best I can hope for. Thank you for trying anyway, I owe you one."

Danny chimed in to the conversation. "Did she mention me at all? Maybe about how handsome I am? How I've been giving her the eyes all night, and she can't resist me?"

"Are... are you serious?" you ask. Danny waits for an answer, expectedly. "No, she didn't mention you, Diamond."

"Aw nuts, I guess I'll wait to make my move then..."

You make your way over to the singer, who is awkwardly listening to the jukebox music, and not really paying attention to the ongoing conversations in the bar. You clear your throat to get her attention, and you startle her in the process.

"Oh, Ace!" she exclaims, with her eyes widened. "What are you talking to me for-I mean, what do you want-I mean... how are you?" She's more than a little flustered when he talks.

"I'm doing fine, uhh..."

The singer's mouth widens when she realises you don't know her name. "Oh, sorry! I'm Abby! I guess we never have actually spoke, have we? I guess singing your theme music made me feel more familiar to you? Uh, not that I feel familiar to you, I... uhh... "Thanks," Abby replies, "I have a lot of fun performing it... and all of the themes. I want to land a job as the music producer for UPW in the future, so this is a good start..."

You then decide to ask her why she is acting nervous. When you do, she hides back behind her paper cup. "Nervous? I-I-I'm not nervous! W-what gives y-you that idea?" She giggles, nervously.

You hear two members of the band behind you start whispering to each-other. "Wow, she went and talked to him?" the bassist asked.

"Actually, he came over to her," the drummer replies.

"Wow, really?"

Abby apparently hears her bandmates talking as well, as her face turns beet red. "Uh... I... PEE!" You raise an eyebrow as she stammers. "I HAVE TO PEE! EXCUSE ME!" She sprints towards the bathroom, spilling most of her drink over herself in the process. Very odd.

"That's nice to hear," the bassist replies, "but don't tell her that. She might just die of a heart attack if you do. Still, you should try chatting with her some more, as friends or whatever. I'm sure that you would be able to bring her out of her shell."

You stand around for a while with the band in awkward silence.

"Oh, are you waiting for Abby to come out? Because she's going to be hiding in there for a while." The bassist shrugs his shoulders as you turn your attention to another group.

Speaking of discriptions... What do we look like? I've been working on a drawing for the MC and I want to get some input. Right now I have a well toned dark skin man with short spikeyish hair.

>>45909904
We'll talk to them soon enough. But lets celebrate the show a bit with our friends...and Danny.

>>45909935
I too would appreciate descriptions for us, not to mention Kimberly and Dave.

You decide not to try talking to the Main Eventers for tonight, feeling you would have to earn your place at their table. Instead, you return to Kimberly and David at your booth.

"So, how was your little adventure?" Kimberly asks, hugging into your arm as you sit down, "make any new friends?"

"Did Jenny Deth attack you?" David asks.

"Yes I did, and no she didn't" you answer both of your friends at the same time. "I think the TWA roster are a pretty good crew."

"Yeah, but not as good as us, right?" Kimberly jokes, as Danny approaches the booth, shuffling sullenly.

"Princess, would you date me?" he asks suddenly.

"No!"

"See!" Danny points towards Kimberly, "that's the normal answer to that question! Jenny threatened to stab me! She even showed me the online receipt for knives she ordered!"

You laugh at Danny's expense as you relax into your chair.

MC's physical build is in the character sheet. He is half-Asian, but looks mostly white with a decent tan. Short black hair. Light green eyes. Youthful, pretty-boy face. I'll add more physical descriptions of him and all the social connection characters when I update the pastebin.
>>
>>45910181
I can work with this. May have the Asian parts seem more prevalent. Something like thicker eyebrows and a noticeable slant.
>>
>>45910082
I think we should enjoy the night. Business for tomorrow.

The next generation from the LEGENDARY OMEGA DOJO. Has a pretty good ring to it.

Lucky guess is all. Probably third down to the left being Half-white/half-asian and all.

"So David, I've got a tag match next Friday against The Ghouls, and I need a partner, so I was wondering if Kingpin would..."

"I'll think about it," David answers.

"You'll think about it?"

"Yes. That's what I said. I'm not guaranteeing anything."

You shrug your shoulders and take a sip of your water. It seems Fisk, and probably anyone you ask would need more time to make a decision. You sit back and chat with your group for the rest of the night about all sorts of things, until the barkeep makes Last Call. You and the TWA roster all pile out of the bar and out to the rainy street outside.

You feel a tap on your shoulder from behind. You turn around to see Abby standing behind you, with a piece of paper in her hand, looking away from you. Frantically, she closes her eyes and hands you the piece of paper. "T-take it..."

You look down at the paper, realising that she just handed you her number. "Call me sometime..." she says as she re-joins the rest of the band.

Danny whistles from behind you. "Wow, someone's popular with the ladies! By the way... do you mind giving me a ride home? My place is on the way to yours, right?"

>Sure, no problem.
>It's not far. Can't you walk?

[YOUR CONNECTION WITH DANNY GABLE HAS REACHED RANK 1]

"Thanks, dude! It's real generous of you." He runs towards your car. "I call shotgun!"

Kimberly sighs and wipes her eyes. "Is it too late for me to walk home? Do I really need to share a car with this guy?"

You shrug and hop into the driver seat, and start up the car. Immediately, Danny starts messing with the radio, stopping at a classic rock station. "You guys like Bon Jovi?"

"Not at 1am, I don't." Kimberly sinks into the backseat.

You wave to David, who is walking down the street as you start driving back to your place, with You Give Love a Bad Name blasting full volume in the car. You put up with it for the 10 minutes it takes to arrive at Danny's place. "I just realised!" he exclaims as you park. "You don't have my number, Ace! Let's right this travesty!" You exchange numbers with Danny, as he turns to Kimberly in the back seat. "I'm sure you want my number too. How else can we meet up for romantic getaways?"

Kimberly rolls her eyes as Danny leaves the car and you start driving again to drop Kimberly off at her place.

"So... that singer girl, Abby... why'd she give you her number?" she asked.

>She's interested in me.
>Just making new friends.
>It's not important.

"She is?" Kimberly sounded disheartened. "I mean, I guess she is kinda cute... is that the kind of girl you're into? Actually, don't answer that. Uhh... Oh! Here's my place."

You pull over to let Kimberly out of the car as you arrive outside of her apartment. "Tonight was a lot of fun, Ace. I still can't believe we had a match against each-other!"

"I still can't believe we have jobs at all!" you joke.

Kimberly smiles. "Heh, you're right. See you soon, Ace." She hops out of the car and waves goodbye as you head off to your place.

When you walk into the apartment, you feed Maslow before immediately resigning to your room and collapsing on your bed. Today was a long day, and you're really beginning to feel the effects now at 1:30am. Your schedule is only going to become even more hectic from here on out, with a regular wrestling job under your belt and a whole slew of co-workers to befriend. You shut your heavy eyes and drift off to sleep.

And that's it for tonight! Thanks for playing! Let me know what you think!
