/tg/ - Traditional Games

Last Thread, we wrestled a wolf into submission and named him Fox, then killed an Elk, remembered who we are and found a sweet cave and learned about Runes.
Previous Quest : http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Perfect%20World%20Quest

After reading the message, you hear a voice in your head that says “Voice Commands now active”.

“Well whatever, I’ll play around with that later” you think to yourself

You pile up your sticks gather earlier and start a fire. Giving those fire starting demonstrations are finally coming in handy. With the fire roaring and your Elk meat roasting above the flame. Eventually cooked, you bite into the taste meat and greedily chew it all down. With a full stomach and the fire dying down, you fall straight asleep with Fox lying by your side.

Woken in the morning with slobbering licks from fox. You see a message from the interface “Congratulations! For being the first person in your area to spend 12 straight hours with a hostile Beast. Would you like to form a contract with the Beast?”

You said we can use the runes on the wolf, and I assume others, but can we see his stats, or do we need this Contract for that?

You decline the contract, you’re not sure what it entails for you or Fox. After reading the message, you get along with your day. You decide to head out with Fox and see if you can find anymore animals like you hunted yesterday. You find what seem to be bear tracks, some more elk tracks, and what look like to be human tracks but they are much smaller and lighter than any human tracks you have seen.

The bear tracks are too dangerous for you and the human tracks spark your curiosity but it’s best to go Elk hunting for now. You and Fox follow the tracks through the forest until you come upon a gang of Elk maybe 20 or 30. This gang is way bigger than you originally expected and they seem to grazing in a ravine. You think that if you can get between them and the single exit of the ravine it would be a slaughter. Or maybe you could pick off a few elk gazing around the edges of the gang to be safe.

You rush towards the Elk with Fox at your heels. The Elk upon sensing your presence try to scatter up the steep edges of the ravine but it’s useless for the elk, none are able to get away. The result was as you thought, an absolute slaughter not a single elk is able to make it past you and Fox. You don’t bother skinning them just one, as the meat goes bad after a few hours as you realized this morning but maybe the antlers could be sharped. You gain 1 rune from every single elk. You find 8 strength runes, 4 stamina runes, 9 agility runes, 7 perception runes and two new runes with M and MR letters on them. However this time instead of absorbing all the runes you think maybe you should share some with Fox.

Share 3 Agilities.
I don't wanna use too many on him, especially not until we can get a Contract.

Would say skin a few more elk, just for the skins. Could be useful for future trade, or just to make some leather with.
>>
>>45730875
You decide a few more skins may be useful down the road but this time you remeber a method for tanning that calls for using the brains to tan it so you wrap the brains up in the skins. Before leaving of course, you gather up all the runes and leave 3 agility runes for Fox to take. You see the standard messages from the interface reading from the normal runes
>“+8 strength, total 20, +4 stamina, total 15, +6 agility, total 18, Perception +7, total 18”
but the two new runes read
“+1 magic resistance, total 11 +1 Mana, total 11”
you haven’t seen any magic so that’s seems strange. You march back to your cave and put the skins and brains in the corner. They smell like shit so you should probably get to tanning them soon. It’s about 2 o’clock and you got maybe 3 more hours of daylight. So what do you do?

> Tan the hides it, you could do most of them before night fall
> Go hunting again see if any scavengers or other animals show up to where you killed the elk

No point hunting anything else for the time being, we got enough skins and food, anything else would either be wasteful or just for grinding.

You began the process as you done dozens of types before by fleshing the hides, removing all of the flesh and fat from them so they don't begin to decompose. Then you manage to find a stream to remove all the impurities from the hides. Then you have to figure out where and how to hang them. Wandering around for a bit you find enough vines to use them as ropes to hang the hides to let them dry overnight. While waiting for the hides to dry, you submerge the brains in the stream you found to let them began to break down. Once the brains are mushy, you grind them up into a paste to be used to brain the hides. You store the brains in a leaf bowl you macgyvered. As that’s you can do until the hides dry, you restart your fire and roast up some of the meat you kept from the Elks, and of course share some with Fox. Then just as you did last night you fall asleep with Fox by your side.

End of Quest#2 How did I do? will try to do another tomorrow but please share your advice and suggestions for later threads. Will be doing a Q&A for a little bit
>>
>>45732286
It was short, didn't really do much.
>>
>>45732384
yeah I got work to do so had to end thread early. Should I skip the little details and make the plot go along quick then?
>>
>>45732410
I wouldn't skip details, then you end up with
